Gods in Lions & Men
how does one interpret Greek gods into a sci-fi musical? Great question!
All gods are fully machinery taking human form, and every god has some animal motif as well as a signature color that their followers bear
here’s just a basic list w their names, domains, animal, color, vocal type, & followers
Athena - Wisdom, Strategy
Owl - Green - Mezzo - Odysseus & Diomedes
Hera - Family, Power
Peacock - Indigo - Alto - Agamemnon, Thersites, Clytemnestra
Hermes - Speed, Travel, Mischief
Bird - Neon Yellow - Tenor - L Ajax, Automedon, Teucer
Poseidon - Water, Earthquakes
Horse - Royal Blue - Baritone - Menelaus, G Ajax
Hephaestus - Armor, Defense
Mule - Orange - Bass - Patroklos, Briseis,
Aphrodite - Love, Beauty
Dove - Pink - Soprano - Helen, Paris, Aeneas
Ares - War, Bloodshed
Ram - Red - Baritone - Hector, Penthesilea (if I add her), Andromache, Glaucus
Apollo - Sun, Plague, Prophecy
Snake - Warm Yellow - Tenor - Cressida, Cassandra, Helenus (if I add him)
Artemis - Moon, Artillery
Deer - Pale Purple - Mezzo - Troilus, Sarpedon, Deiphobus
(Hermes, Hera, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Ares
Apollo, Artemis, Athena)
there are also other gods that don’t have followers in the war, but none are important except for Zeus
L&M is gonna have a very different portrayal of Zeus. He is the smallest god, and the only “normal human”-sized one (abt six feet/1.8 meters). He also looks the most human of any god.
he, despite not having any soldiers, is influential to the war because he controls what every other god does.
I haven’t elaborated on him too much yet but I like the idea of a younger, more androgynous Zeus (similar to how everyone draws Apollo)

She would greet it like an old friend if emptiness could devour her entirely.
Hunger and exhaustion finally took over the sadness that consumed her for the last three days. She stirred lightly from her bedroll, which Helene had purposely moved out of everybody's view after their return from the dank and horrid abode where the Netherbrain resided.
She had isolated herself from everyone else when Enver died three days ago.
The memory of his sudden death replaying inside her head tormented her even in sleep, that she had stopped closing her eyes to avoid them. But even when she was awake, she could still see how his body slumped to the ground, his face blackened and twisted, forever contorted into a scream.
How she stomped her fist in vain across his chest, hoping it would restart his heart, but to no avail. She had screamed, trashed even when they tried to take her away, cradling his lifeless body, desperate for even a tiny bit of evidence that she could save him. They stowed her away along with the tyrant’s once warm body, just before the brain tried attacking them.
Helene had wailed, tears streaming from her cheeks, raining down Enver’s unmoving face, but he wouldn’t be able to hear or see it. She had lost her voice three days ago; she might also lose her heart entirely in the following days or so.
Astarion almost never left her side the first day she had begun her grieving. He had tried to console her, brought food she had barely touched, and even cried along with her, hoping she would notice how every time her voice cracked from trying to speak or began crying again, his frozen heart would shatter too into a million more pieces.
And yet, she remained cathartic, oblivious of Astarion’s effort: her silence echoing across the camp, the unusual quietness putting a lump to everyone's throat as their leader remained in a state of despair.
On the third day of his death, Helene finally had the courage to approach one soul she trusted the most from camp, just as the campfire started crackling during supper, startling everyone around her as her ghostly figure, ashen and still in her camp clothes from three days ago, started walking towards Jaheira.
The old Harper caught her as she slumped by the entrance of her tent; Helene's eyes were bloodshot, her crimson orbs darker than usual, looking up at her like a child looking for an answer from a God, clinging for dear life.
“Why… why does it hurt?
“Have you never known hurt or pain, child?” Jaheira whispered as she stroked her hair, brushing her trembling lips as tears started threatening to spill again.
“I thought I knew pain, but I don't know what this is. I can't get rid of it. Please help me get rid of it.” Helene struggled to speak, her chest heaving as the weight of grief started to suffocate her lungs once more.
Jaheira’s hand cupped her cheek, looking at her with those stern eyes that had seen far more sorrow than hers, reflected through the wrinkles on her face, her unwavering tenacity shared through wisdom. “You had hoped. A selfish decision at that, given the gravity of his crimes, and yet you still went behind everyone's back to accept his request. And that hope now shattered before you, is your punishment.”
“I just want this to end.” She pleaded, uttering the same words over and over, clinging to the Harper’s arms, tears soaking her shirt as her eyes gave out once more. The rest of the camp convened around the mournful scene; none dared but the pale elf to come near Helene, who was now a wallowing mess, her face buried against her palms as Jaheira let Astarion take over and wrap her in a cape, his arms around her as he showered her with comforting words, drowning again from despair.
“My dear, you will be fine. No one will hurt you again while we’re here. While I’m here.” Astarion shushed above her weeping, arms clinging onto his neck as he carried her frail body away from the crowd, concealing her away from everyone’s gaze once more in his tent. She was still sobbing as he laid her down, tucking her with the cape, gently brushing the hair out of her face.
“I’m sorry,” Helene whispered between the hiccups, her voice scratchy from screaming and wailing that hadn’t yet recovered. Astarion let out a pained smile, still brushing her hair with his delicate fingers, a gesture that used to calm Helene when the Urge struck now served as futile at the moment of her grief.
“I know.”
Her heart went heavy at the realization that he had now realized the depth of her betrayal. How she had traded her newly built life with Astarion for the one she had once shared with Enver, rescinded by a miscalculation of their plan—-her plan— now fell to pieces. “I’m sorry if I–”
“I know. Rest, my sweet. I will still be here when you wake up tomorrow.”
Rolling to her back, her sobs started to subside, blending with the evening quietness until there was no more sound coming from where she lay. In the dark, she chased what little light spilled inside the confines of the tent, stretching her hands to gaze at her fingers where two rings had now slipped.
One signet ring with a single ruby on it, Enver’s gift to her many years ago he had relived inside her head one night she probed his mind, memories flooding and overwhelming her to chase and want her old life.
The other was her very own gift: a golden ring band she once bestowed to him as a symbol of her promise back then to be his, and only his.
The gift returned to her, but not her memories. And most certainly, not Enver now that his soul is trapped under the lord of tyranny’s hands, impossible for her to reach.
Her old life, now forlorn and voided of ever returning.

The Curse of Oenone (Leo Valdez xFem!Oc)
A/N: We're having loads of fun this week -Danny Words: 2,148 Series' Masterlist Previous Chapter // Next Chapter Listen to: 'Champion' -by Fall Out Boy
XXII: The Nonsense Has Escalated
She refuses to be who Helen was, the cause of countless demises while hiding behind fortified barriers. That's not who Ara Jackson is. She's the solution, not the problem.
Ara's looking at Piper's dagger for directions, and it shows her the outside of what seems to be an old workshop. The blade obliges to her requests easily, almost like it recognizes its original owner. It takes her no time to find a motorcycle and she takes it. If the owner's lucky, she won't even damage it beyond repair.
Ara drives through the city following her compass, it guides her effortlessly because there is only one thing she wants right now and that's finding Nico. Eventually, she locates the old workshop. Ara walks up to the entrance and breaks in.
It takes her just a couple of minutes to get to the bottom, which of course is way bigger than it looks on the outside. Ara is overwhelmed by all the cages and machinery surrounding her.
"...this spectacle will be even better," one of the giant twins is saying. "The Romans always wanted bread and circuses—food and entertainment! As we destroy their city, I will offer them both. Behold, a sample!"
Percy talks, which sends a wave of relief through Ara's body. "Wonder bread?"
"Magnificent, isn't it? You can keep that loaf. I plan on distributing millions to the people of Rome as I obliterate them."
"Wonder bread is good," the other twin says. "Though the Romans should dance for it."
Ara comes out right behind the giants, and Percy's the first to spot her. There is a split second of recognition on his face before he looks back at the giants and resumes his conversation.
"Maybe you should bring our other friends here. You know, spectacular deaths... the more the merrier, right?"
Ara looks down at the giant's feet—if she can even call them that—and sees Nico lying there. She notices the terrible shape he's in, almost pure bones and skin, way too similar to the old mummy they used to keep in the Big House's attic. Seeing him like this brings her no satisfaction.
They won't kill these guys without a god present, but at least she can get Nico out, and that would take away the leverage the giants have on them, and they might have a chance to run. Ara holds Almighty, still as a compass, and waits.
"Hmm... No. It's really too late to change the choreography. But never fear. The circuses will be marvelous! Ah... not the modern sort of circus, mind you. That would require clowns, and I hate clowns."
"Everyone hates clowns," his brother points out. "Even other clowns hate clowns."
"Exactly. But we have much better entertainment planned! The three of you will die in agony, up above, where all the gods and mortals can watch. But that's just the opening ceremony! In the old days, games went on for days or weeks. Our spectacle—the destruction of Rome—will go on for one full month until Gaea awakens."
"Wait," Jason intervenes. "One month, and Gaea wakes up?"
"Yes, yes. Something about August First being the best date to destroy all humanity. Not important! In her infinite wisdom, the Earth Mother has agreed that Rome can be destroyed first, slowly and spectacularly. It's only fitting!"
"So... You're Gaea's warm-up act," Percy continues.
"This is no warm-up, demigod! We'll release wild animals and monsters into the streets. Our special effects department will produce fires and earthquakes. Sinkholes and volcanoes will appear randomly out of nowhere! Ghosts will run rampant."
"The ghost thing won't work—Our focus groups say it won't pull ratings."
"Doubters! This hypogeum can make anything work!"
One of the twins moves to a control board providing Ara with a blind spot. She sneaks in closer, making sure the other twin isn't looking. Piper and Jason see her then, so they do their best to keep the giants's focus on them. Ara seizes Nico's jacket and almost whimpers at how easily she can drag him back, he's too malnourished.
Percy's relief is written all over his face and he turns to the others. "I'm getting tired of this guy's shirt."
"Combat time?" Piper seizes her cornucopia.
"I hate Wonder bread," Jason grumbles.
Ara tries to make Nico come back to his senses. "C'mon Ghost King..." she rummages through her bag and pulls out her bottle of nectar. She tilts the boy's face up and feeds him. "Now's not the time to take your title seriously!"
Nico's eyes open though it takes them a moment to focus. Once he sees it's her, his expression turns into a scowl. "You."
"Happy to see you too," she whispers. "Can you stand?"
Nico tries to get up and slips, so Ara places his arm around her shoulders and carries him to safety. "You'll hide until it's safe to go, got it?"
Nico's reply is a weak grumble, he must be extremely weak if he's not trying to fight her orders. Ara's about to leave when she hears growling, she looks back and finds two leopards slowly approaching.
She shields Nico's body with her own. "Piper, we could use some help here!"
The girl looks back and sees the felines. "Going!"
Her sister runs in their direction and points the cornucopia to the opposite side, a large piece of warm roasted meat flies off and distracts the leopards successfully.
"I miss Seymour," Ara sighs.
"Go help Jason and Percy, I'll watch after Nico."
"Take this," Ara gives her Katroptis back. "Works just as good as that horn you carry."
Piper takes the weapon and keeps feeding Nico small pieces of ambrosia so he can get back on his feet. Ara joins the fight. "Sorry I'm late, Hedge and I were having a great time talking shit about you."
Jason snorts. "Sorry to spoil the fun."
"Don't worry about it," she turns Almighty into a sword. "This will be fun too."
"Hydra! Hydra!" Percy shouts, running towards them.
"Where did that come from?" Ara yelps.
"I set it free!"
"WHAT?"
"The fireworks!"
Ara knows what he's trying to tell her and together they reach the device.
"Can you—"
"Yes, just make sure it comes to us!" She interrupts him.
Percy gets the Hydra to approach and Ara blows it up with the fireworks, it causes such a mess that they end up blowing up more than expected. They bury one of the twins under rubble.
Ara winces. "That's exactly why I'm not allowed to use explosives..."
Percy frowns. "You design bombs."
"That's different."
"Guys, the controls!" Jason shouts.
"Go, I got your back!" Percy tells her.
Ara runs over and looks at the buttons and levers, but they're not labeled in a way she can understand, she elbows Percy. "Takes too long, just break it!"
Percy cuts the whole thing in half, and a shower of sparks comes out of it. The twin still standing reaches them and Ara stands in front of Percy, turning her sword into a shield and stopping the giant's spear from impaling them.
Jason rushes over after checking up on Piper and Nico. The three of them stand together, but there's not much they can do. The other giant crawls out from under the debris and picks up his weapon, Ara turns Almighty back into a sword.
"What now?"
"We won't give up," Jason states out loud so the giants hear. "We'll cut you into pieces like Jupiter did to Saturn."
"That's right," Percy adds heatedly. "You're both dead. I don't care if we have a god on our side or not."
"Well, that's a shame. I'd hate to think I made a special trip for nothing." There, descending on a small platform, is Baccus. Mr D's Roman version. "Really, Ephialtes, killing demigods is one thing. But using leopards for your spectacle? That's over the line."
"This—this is impossible. D-D—"
"It's Bacchus, actually, my old friend. And of course it's possible. Someone told me there was a party going on."
"You—you gods are doomed! Be gone, in the name of Gaea!"
"Hmm..." The god walks forward staring at everything with disdain. "Tacky. Cheap. Boring. And this... Tacky, cheap, and boring. Honestly, Ephialtes. You have no sense of style."
"STYLE? I have mountains of style. I define style. I—I—"
"My brother oozes style!"
"Thank you!"
"Have you two gotten shorter?" Baccus squints at the pair.
"Oh, that's low. I'm quite tall enough to destroy you, Bacchus! You gods, always hiding behind your mortal heroes, trusting the fate of Olympus to the likes of these."
"Lord Bacchus," Jason shifts his weight from one foot to the other. "Are we going to kill these giants or what?"
"Well, I certainly hope so. Please, carry on."
"Didn't you come here to help?" Percy asks.
"Oh, I appreciated the sacrifice at sea. A whole ship full of Diet Coke. Very nice. Although I would've preferred Diet Pepsi."
"And six million in gold and jewels," Percy grumbles.
"Yes, although with demigod parties of five or more the gratuity is included, so that wasn't necessary."
"What?"
"Never mind, At any rate, you got my attention. I'm here. Now I need to see if you're worthy of my help. Go ahead. Battle. If I'm impressed, I'll jump in for the grand finale."
"That's great," Ara's voice is full of sarcasm. "Please do tell us what kind of grand finale you wish to see."
"Ah, good question... Perhaps you need inspiration! The stage hasn't been properly set. You call this a spectacle, Ephialtes? Let me show you how it's done."
They get taken to the center stage of the Colosseum. Ara hadn't been paying attention as she drove around the city, but she does remember seeing this place near the workshop she'd snuck into.
The floor is fixed, and the bleachers too. There is a roof over them to make it comfortable for the people in attendance. There is a box right in the best spot where Baccus, Piper, and Nico are seated, ready to watch the show.
"Next time, Birdy, keep your mouth shut," Percy mutters.
"I'd take the advice if it came from anyone else, but since it's you, I can't take it seriously."
"This is a proper show!" Bacchus speaks from his box, sounding like he's got a microphone on him.
"You're just going to sit there?" Percy demands.
"The demigod is right!" Ephialtes screams. "Fight us yourself, coward! Um, without the demigods."
"Juno says she's assembled a worthy crew of demigods," Baccus smirks. "Show me. Entertain me, heroes of Olympus. Give me a reason to do more. Being a god has its privileges."
The girl locks her eyes with Percy and manages a mocking smile. "Well, if we survive this, I promise to listen more often."
Percy doesn't smile. "Yeah, right."
"Let's get this over with," Jason stands ready.
The giants grab mountains of plaster and toss them over. They jump into the same trench.
"I'll take Otis again!" Jason shouts. "Or do you want him this time?"
"Which one is Otis?" Ara asks keeping her head down.
"No, no—We attack together," Percy replies. "Otis first, because he's weaker. Take him out quickly and move to Ephialtes. Bronze and gold together—maybe that'll keep them from re-forming a little longer."
"Why not?" Jason manages his own very ironic grin. "But Ephialtes isn't going to stand there and wait while we kill his brother. Unless—"
"Good wind today," Percy points out. "And there're some water pipes running under the arena."
They look at Ara, she sighs and turns Almighty into a bow. "Yeah, fine. My weapon is gold and bronze anyway, I count for two of you."
Jason laughs and Percy grins, it's the first smile he's shown her this entire day, and it does cheer her up a little bit.
"On three?" Jason offers.
"Why wait?" Percy responds.
They run out driven by mad frustration. Percy makes the water pipes explode and Jason tosses Ephialtes backwards giving Ara enough time to get to him.
"Hey, Otis!" Percy screams. "The Nutcracker bites!"
Ara gets to where Ephialtes is and aims an arrow at him. "Hello, cutie! We haven't been properly introduced!"
"Ara Jackson!" He shrieks, struggling to get out from the pool of wet plaster and debris.
"Not the first time I've got giants screaming my name—always an ego booster," Ara shoots and the arrow lands on the giant's left eye. She turns Almighty back into a sword. "I'm such a shitty archer..."
"Argh!" Ephialtes tries to get up, but his snake foot seems to be stuck on something.
"I was pointing at your nostril," she continues while dodging his attacks. "I've learned most monsters have weird soft spots, so the crazier you aim for the more effective it is—like this!"
She cuts the foot that's stuck and Ephialtes shrieks with rage. Her skin glows teal and she opens her palm over the running water making it move faster, not allowing Ephialtes's foot to reform. The giant uses both hands and tries to smack her on the head with his spear. Ara ducks and rolls, she doesn't look at what Jason and Percy are doing, they'll let her know when it's time to retreat.
"You may have ruined my spectacle, but Gaea will still destroy your world!" Ephialtes screeches.
"If it happens, you won't be here to see it."
On queue, the large shadow of the Argo II makes itself present above their heads, and Ara lets out a chortle of relief.

Channeled Angelic Wisdom of the Jewels of Truth Series on Mindfulness, Unease, and Anxiety
Hello All,
What a month of October it has been!
After my last blog entry for September citing Hurricane Helene, my city of Sarasota, Florida got a direct hit from Hurricane Milton! Alas, I came out of it mostly unscathed with yard debris damage, losing the contents of my refrigerator due to a power loss for 3 days or so. I'm all right just a bit frazzled with 2 mere weeks between hurricanes Helene and Milton for my region of the Florida Gulf Coast.
Today's Jewels of Truth channeled angelic wisdom statements by means of 29+ years of Inspirational psychic automatic writing. Are on the topic of Mindfulness which is a short of the one-liner series. Followed by regular-length topics on Unease and Anxiety which is what my region of Florida and parts of North Carolina are experiencing to date.
Thank you for your continued interest in our lifelong Dharmic work. Amen.
Mindfulness:
3347) Mindfulness is both a sacred gift and a personal dharmic responsibility for the health of all the souls concerned in living with wellness. Amen. ---Ivan Pozo-Illas / Atrayo.
Unease:
3273) To the one that understands much is afforded to comprehend in complete earnestness. To the one that doesn't then much hardship with unconscious confusion will set in over time. Not everyone is afforded the gallant mindset of clarity of purpose. Many others must struggle emotionally and at times foolishly to transcend past the initial stages of personal grief to overcome the lower self.
Difficulties of all various shapes and sizes will disgruntle the anxious soul. Not all motivations are easily apparent for a remedy to occur. Only a dedicated heart that explores the intricacies of personal struggles will make incremental progress in due time.
Here too lays the fountainhead of follies that everyone is equal in apptitudes of great accomplishments upon this emotional world of upheavals. Not everyone is a natural-born leader who can marshall their sensibilities onto a higher echelon of overcoming. Many are capable of pushing past the initial shock of disgust and dread despite the grievous odds stacked against them in a sordid life.
Many a proverbial scuffed knee takes immense grit of personal fortitude to shove past the litany of woes. The prospects in life for opportunity come with potential casualties if one isn't mindful of where they step. No one is directly at fault for living in a corrupt broken world remaking itself in the flawed image and likeness of humanity itself.
Destinies both great and small are heralded by the individuality of great souls living mediocre lives indeed. For the timid of the world to inherit the Kingdom of God on Earth. They must first earn it in Heaven with an unconditional Faith in God the likes of which the Biblical allegory of Job knew all too well.
To carry on in spite of appearances of disaster whether natural or man-made is metaphysically irrelevant. The Earth is designed to shock all into submission time and again. The proving grounds of souls who dare to defy the heavenly status quo only to be embarrassed at the travesty of fools suffering with great contrasts encountered.
Courage of this kind isn't earned but shaped and molded by travesty seared into the psyche of the brave of heart and mind all the same. When a sense of unease enters the world then the wailing begins and only the courageous can carry on and not be completely defeated personally. Authenticity of Integrity is necessary to move forward past the unseen obstacles and the imagined exaggerated carnage at every perceivable turn.
Whichever is greater well-being or confidence will win out in the end after the woe has been mostly managed. From here experience has been gained with a conditional pricetag of heartache. Regardless, of whether bravado was present or not. The intellect can only perceive so much in order to release an overflow of sensory inputs so as to not shut down completely.
All mannerisms of recriminations, nagging, and other assorted stressors inhibit the grandeur to overcome with personal dignity in this life. To get a grip as the slippage of personal despair overtakes you is no small feat indeed. To pivot around the inner turmoil in order to flip the anger and fear into productive suffering by casting that into the fires of the mind to heal thyself takes gumption.
There is no merit that is of worth found in such twisted acrimony the circles of vengeful discord takes one almost to the literal pits of hell in the unholy spirit. Please put aside the grief and condemnation in order to restore yourselves to the Inner Peace of Being and Forgiveness of all negativity encountered. Such robust personal compassionate loving will set you free from the bondage of this chaotic world assuming the grace of angels instead. Amen. ---Ivan Pozo-Illas / Atrayo.
Anxiety:
3294) To the one who suffers unknowingly not realizing that the status quo has shifted from underneath their proverbial feet. Heretofore, anxiety when at odds with the unknown leaves a deafening foreboding fear whereby your ego-mind undisciplined and usually unconscious mindset turns against you.
Whether you consider this as dread or sheer panic this is none other but the ego-centric mind turning inside out against you personally. Having cannibalized your sensibilities to leave yourself abandoned in no man's land metaphorically speaking. Such a shocking fear serves no one, not every person who obsesses profusely is turned into a ridiculous coward.
Situational awareness is fine and dandy but when you begin making baseless emotional assertions as fear-based panicked responses you begin tearing yourself apart. No one is served in such a despicable capacity, not your humanity much less your precious internalized dignity.
Be still and center yourself spiritually and mentally forgive yourself by not condemning your past/present actions and that of other alleged aggressors. Release the burdens from within productively without pursuing a secondary addiction in order to distract yourself from the emotional anguish overall.
For whichever pain is greatest as a stress not worth keeping or flaming outward begin by experiencing surrender of the petty self. To "Let Go, and Let God" as the famous maxim is known for spiritually. Seek internalized harmony by practicing gentle breathing exercises in an effortless manner. Such as breathing in deeply for a count of one, two, and three slowly and fully. Then hold for one, two, and three gently. Finally release for one, two, and three moments and repeat again two more times to pause your dread.
Now listen silently for the silence between the moments of nothingness. Aside from hearing the noises of the world apparently who do you feel for intuitively as your greatest security blanket of Being well? Whether this is an imagined projection or not recall a pleasant memory or create one that brings forward your proverbial champion as a role model.
Allow the surrendering of your dread with ease of wellness to flow through you. Relax and do not tense up your shoulders or your stomach and be still deeper still surrender your anguish into the living waters of a cascading whitewater river. Allow it to flow past your Imagined sight perhaps you may even find yourself flowing down such a river.
By Letting Go you paradoxically reclaim your greater sense of calm. The pessimism abates allowing your own natural divine state of grace to reach you truly. Being alive permits one to live a life of contrasting emotions just not to the point of becoming paralyzed by them.
This world has always been young and broken on purpose even before humanity set foot as the first primate hominid mammals. Only with the Love of God from within your divine souls permanently in Heaven can you each usher forth the Omnipresence of Goddess forever truly.
To live every day is a challenge of various sorts of annoyances your Inner resiliency spells the difference between the gladness of life and the travesty of turmoil. Everyone suffers but by how much only you can decide by giving away your power to be abused by an undisciplined mindset or cultivating your divine holy spirit to overcome the world one Love of God at a time. Amen. ---Ivan Pozo-Illas / Atrayo.

A, B, D, G, Q, U, and Y for the ask game 🩷
Thank you, love <3 And sorry for the long post!
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
Currently I am utterly in love with Adelaide/Marcello (lovingly known as Barberasmo) from Il Paradiso delle Signore. I can’t remember the last time I was this taken by a ship, they fit all my OTP criteria perfectly.
Other ships that are on my mind right now are Helen x Will from Sanctuary and Moiraine x Lan from The Wheel of Time. Both these ships work perfectly as platonic ones, but I also don’t mind seeing them as romantic pairings.
Oh, and not so long ago I had a good cry over Lucy/Flynn from Timeless and what could’ve been, so I guess this ship also counts haha.
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
This is a difficult one, hmmm… honestly, nothing comes to mind, sorry!
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.
Hmmm… no pairing exactly like that, but the closest thing here would be Lucy/Wyatt from Timeless. But it’s not like I wish I liked it, because yes, despite it being canon and a non-painful version, I dislike it. These two characters were forced into a relationship that does both of them a disservice, and this is the hill I will die on.
G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it?
Currently my list of OTPs consists of 19 ships, so yes, you could say I have had an OTP :) My first one was Marguerite Krux and John Roxton from The Lost World. They are still on my list, as I still love them very-very much.
Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.
Oh, I have abandonded many fandoms. I suppose I usually just lose interest in a show and leave… it happens sometimes. The most recent fandom I’ve abandoned is probably “House of the Dragon”. I still lurk in the tags, but I am not planning to watch season 2 when it comes out, so technically I am not in the fandom anymore.
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
№ 3 – Delenn of Mir from Babylon 5. I admire her strength, her wisdom, and her compassion. I see her as a wonderful role model, and she has been my inspiration throughout many years.
№ 2 – Helen Magnus from Sanctuary. Well, first of all, I adore Amanda Tapping, and the way she portrays Helen is phenomenal. And, secondly, Helen as a character is so… so… urgh, I don’t even know how to describe her and explain why she is among my favourites. She is just… everything to me. Her curiosity, her genius, her determination to protect the fragile harmony between two worlds (the human one and the abnormal one). Helen is… well, Helen. And I love her for that.
№ 1 – Adelaide di Sant’Erasmo from Il Paradiso delle Signore. Her character journey is incredibly fascinating to follow, and she is definitely the one who is on my mind the most these days. Some of her actions make me want to scream in frustration, but at the same time I find myself enchanted by her complexity when her carefully crafted façade cracks and when we see glimpses of the real her. When we are introduced to her, what we see is a stuck-up noblewoman whose moral compass is kind of questionable, but then we get to know her better, and oh, the layers, the insane amount of emotional and psychological layers that surround this woman… Adelaide di Sant’Erasmo is an absolute gift of a character.
Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)?
Korean and Chinese dramas are the answer to this one :) My real-life friends love them, and we discuss them sometimes.
Oh, and Farscape. Definitely Farscape. Lots of it on my Tumblr dash.

The Path to Enlightenment According to A Course in Miracles
A Course in Miracles (ACIM) is a spiritual text that has captivated the hearts and minds of many seekers since its publication in 1975. Authored by Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford, the Course presents a unique and profound perspective on enlightenment. It offers a path that diverges from traditional spiritual teachings, focusing on the transformation of the mind and the recognition of divine love. This article explores the path to enlightenment as outlined in ACIM, delving into its key concepts and practical applications.
Understanding Enlightenment in ACIM
In ACIM, enlightenment is synonymous with spiritual awakening and the realization of our true nature. It is described as a state of consciousness where one transcends the ego's illusions and recognizes the unity of all existence. The Course teaches that enlightenment is not a distant goal but an inherent state of being that can be accessed through a shift in perception.
The Role of the Ego
A central theme in ACIM is the concept of the ego, which is seen as the false self or the part of the mind that identifies with separation and individuality. The ego is driven by fear, guilt, and the desire for control. It creates a sense of separation from others and the divine source. The path to enlightenment involves recognizing and relinquishing the ego's influence, which allows for the experience of true peace and love.
The Practice of Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a cornerstone of ACIM's teachings and is considered essential for spiritual awakening. However, ACIM's concept of forgiveness differs from traditional views. It is not about excusing or condoning harmful actions but about recognizing the innocence of others and oneself. Forgiveness in ACIM podcast is the process of letting go of judgments and grievances, understanding that they are projections of the ego's fears rather than reflections of reality.
The Course emphasizes that forgiveness is a mental shift rather than an external act. It involves changing our perception of others and ourselves, seeing past the illusions of guilt and separation to recognize the inherent holiness in everyone. By practicing forgiveness, we release ourselves from the chains of the ego and open the door to enlightenment.
The Role of Miracles
In ACIM, miracles are defined as shifts in perception from fear to love. They are not supernatural events but changes in the way we perceive ourselves and others. Miracles are expressions of the divine love that underlies all of creation and are a natural outcome of our alignment with this love.
The Course teaches that miracles are a natural part of our spiritual journey and are facilitated by the Holy Spirit, the inner guide that helps us navigate the path to enlightenment. By being open to miracles, we allow ourselves to experience the transformative power of love and to heal the wounds of the ego.
The Holy Spirit's Guidance
The Holy Spirit is a central figure in ACIM, serving as the voice of divine guidance and wisdom. The Course teaches that the Holy Spirit is the inner teacher who helps us discern the truth and make choices that align with our highest good. Through the Holy Spirit's guidance, we learn to recognize and release the ego's illusions and to embrace the reality of our oneness with the divine.
Listening to the Holy Spirit involves quieting the mind and being open to intuitive insights and gentle nudges. It requires trust and willingness to follow a path that may sometimes seem counterintuitive to the ego's desires. The Holy Spirit's guidance is a key element in the journey toward enlightenment, helping us to navigate the challenges and opportunities of our spiritual path.
The Practice of Mindfulness and Meditation
While ACIM does not prescribe specific meditation techniques, it encourages the practice of mindfulness and inner contemplation. By focusing on the present moment and becoming aware of our thoughts and feelings, we can observe the workings of the ego and choose to shift our perception. Mindfulness helps us to remain centered in the present and to recognize the divine presence within ourselves and others.
Meditation, in the context of ACIM, is about cultivating inner stillness and connecting with the deeper aspects of our being. It involves letting go of the distractions of the external world and turning inward to experience the peace and love that reside within. Regular meditation can support the process of awakening and deepen our connection with the Holy Spirit's guidance.
The Journey of Awakening
The path to enlightenment according to ACIM is a journey of self-discovery and transformation. It involves a gradual process of undoing the ego's illusions and embracing the truth of our divine nature. This journey is not about achieving perfection but about making consistent choices that align with love and forgiveness.
ACIM teaches that enlightenment is a state of mind that can be experienced in the present moment. It is not a future destination but a realization of our inherent connection with the divine. As we progress on this path, we may encounter challenges and setbacks, but each step brings us closer to the truth of our being.
Practical Applications of ACIM's Teachings
Applying the teachings of ACIM in daily life involves integrating its principles into our thoughts, actions, and relationships. Here are some practical ways to apply ACIM's teachings:
Practice Forgiveness: Regularly examine your grievances and judgments, and practice letting them go. Recognize the innocence in others and yourself, and choose to see beyond the ego's projections.
Seek Miracles: Be open to shifts in perception and embrace opportunities for healing and transformation. Allow yourself to experience and extend divine love in your interactions.
Follow the Holy Spirit: Cultivate a practice of listening to your inner guidance and making choices that align with love and peace. Trust in the Holy Spirit's wisdom and guidance.
Engage in Mindfulness: Stay present and aware of your thoughts and emotions. Use mindfulness to observe and release the ego's influence, and connect with the divine presence within.
Commit to Inner Stillness: Spend time in meditation or quiet reflection to deepen your connection with your true self and the divine. Allow yourself to experience the peace and love that are always present.
Conclusion
The path to enlightenment according to A Course in Miracles podcast is a journey of inner transformation and awakening. It involves letting go of the ego's illusions, practicing forgiveness, and embracing the guidance of the Holy Spirit. By integrating these principles into our daily lives, we can experience a profound shift in perception and come to recognize the divine love that underlies all of creation. Enlightenment, as taught by ACIM, is not a distant goal but an attainable state of being that reflects our true nature and the oneness of all existence.

Since we have Leshy, Helen and Kallamar. To finish it up, can you do some headcanons of shamura adapting and getting used to the cult life with the readers help
(Plus helping them reunited with Narinder)
Joining the cult was certainly not in Shamura's vision. It wasn’t even in the prophecy!
But here they were anyway.
And honestly? It wasn’t all that bad.
They were more curious than disgruntled about the fact they lost to Lamb and had their godhood torn away. They explored much of the temple grounds and asked a lot of questions (while also providing answers to those who sought them).
They could still spin their webs as they desired, so they were mostly content with their living arrangements.
With Lamb healing them, all they experienced was the occasional headache.
But the habit of repeating themselves never truly went away, making some of the other followers eye the spider cautiously.
Despite this, you befriended them pretty quickly, intrigued by their wisdom and web crafts.
The most difficult thing about helping Shamura was, of course, making amends with Narinder.
They would stop talking whenever he looked their way, and make some excuse to leave. It was clear that hurt and betrayal still ran deep, but they seemed bothered by something else, too.
Eventually, they confessed to you that without their enhanced foresight, they couldn’t tell what the future would be like with all the bishops reunited in the cult....and it scared them a little. They couldn’t think that far ahead anymore.
But you reassured them that together, you’ll make it a great future for everyone. And that they should focus on the present.
Shamura’s delighted to be the one receiving wisdom from a devout follower such as yourself, and promises that they’ll speak to Narinder.
They will definitely hold onto your wise words for the rest of their life.

What’s everyone doing in the shared minecraft server
- Inferno 🔥 anon
The Creeps in Minecraft (SMP?)
You know what? Fuck it, Herobrine exists because I say so. But he also just hates the creeps, specifically Ben because he tried to summon him when he was younger and also a second time after he died.
Like Ben, he's just a ghost tied to a game. But this isn't about him.
Every Saturday night, a game night is hosted by Toby and Ben. This can range from Minecraft, to online Pictionary, to sharing what their monthly presentations are going to be about, to Mario Kart, etc.
Minecraft is sprinkled in and out of Friday game nights, just because it's one of those games that you usually spend a whole day on if you play it right and it can get exhausting.
People usually pop in and out, because Ben has assured that the server stays online constantly for whenever someone just needs to punch a cow or dissociate while mining for hours on end.
(Little long)
--- Designated roles:
Greedy bitch: constantly stealing shit, or just being nosey in general and rummaging through others' chests. The only reason why everyone keeps their valuables in locked chests
Jeff
Dark Link
Laughing Jack (Although he does like to frame other people by switching chest items)
Grandfather Steven: Holds all of the Minecraft wisdom that you could ever ask for. Even more so than Google or Reddit. A walking dictionary, encyclopedia, and crafting guide.
Ben
Toby (Even if he forgets half of the things he tells you. He's just excited to talk to you)
Laughing Jack
Lost Silver
Farmer: Started a farm and how they have created their own cake economy for selling meat, crops, and cooked products

Ben
Splendor
Liu
Nina
Brian
Redstone Engineer: Always has outrageous contraptions for their base, or helps others with their Redstone engineering.

The modder: Has implemented all of these cool mods and resource packs. More animals, more mobs, DOG ARMOR, aesthetics, and makes personalized stuff for the others like tools, capes, and skins.
Ben
Toby
Glitchy Red
Jane
Explorer: Goes to odds and ends exploring the worlds, different biomes, caves, and genuinely fills out the starter map. If you need a certain wood, or trade with a nearby village, they'll point you in the right direction. Is also the one who comes back home after a few hours with a bunch of different pets and seeds.
Ben
Splendor
Eyeless Jack
Clockwork
Builder: The one who builds. Also accepts cake as payment if you have a request. A cake and a half if it's a copy of a youtube tutorial.
Lost Silver
Liu
Helen
Hobo Heart
Miner/collector: Spends entire days just mining and creating systematic tunnels or collecting resources like wood and clay. Can sometimes be spotted trading with villagers and/or causing raids for better prices.
Toby
Sally (They definitely all team up during a raid)
Lost Silver
Eyeless Jack
Ben
Flower collector: Does "EXTREMELY" hard work picking flowers, finding decor, and making cute little pots to put mushrooms in. Interior design is important, you know!
Sally
Splendor
Jane
Toby
Unwanted helper: Invites themself to help you with simple tasks. Although they're not very aware, and might get others killed. Such as looking at an Ender and punching you into lava as they panic-click and run away.
Toby
Jeff
Nina
The Follower: Follows you to Nether and back. Will always protect you no matter what and follows you through ravines and cliffsides to adventure with you. Also may or may not be using you as an excuse to game with one hand while the other eats Twizzlers.

Shameless - Dysfunctional Family Roles
When taking a closer look at the Gallagher family there becomes a clear semblance of character traits used to build the dynamics between family members. More times than not, there is a specific pattern in “neurotic storytelling” used to explore families that deal with addiction and poverty. When you look at the character of Frank, it is extremely obvious that he represents “The Addict” within the family. Frank is the one that often causes the most conflict for the family, making him the catalyst for his children to fill the following roles:
Fiona’s role of “The Caretaker” is another that was strikingly obvious to me. It is due to Frank’s neglect and narcissism that she then becomes the one to take on all of his responsibilities in order to keep the family functioning. As a child she wants to make Frank happy, and as seen in S1E1 she wants him to acknowledge her for all that she has done for him and be proud of her. However, when we look at her character arc in S4 this becomes much more obvious. In her relationship with Mike, we see how attracted to chaos she really is. Fiona likes to solve other people’s (Frank’s) problems. She gets bored and thus cheats on him with Robbie as a way to reinsert herself into a problem to solve. This happens throughout the series as she needs adventure in order to “feel needed”, (also stated in the Pilot). She is drawn to Sean because of his addiction. She goes into Ian’s lawyer meeting in S9 when he requested her not to.
Lip at first struck me as “The Hero” but ultimately I feel as if he is “The Scapegoat” in the family. He has all the wisdom and potential to “get out” of their situation but ruins all of his chances. He acts out for attention and is defiant, often participating in illegal scams. When Lip goes to college he instantly feels out of place, in his conversation with Helene in “Southside Rules” we see that he won’t rat out Kev because: “Southside Rules”. Part of the problem here is that he has an extreme amount of hostility towards Frank which is why Lip tries hard to not become like him and diverts all of his attention away from Frank. Lip develops his own alcohol addiction and ruins his chances at achieving any extreme goals. Lip also falls into the trap of a “trickster mentor”. Youens is arguably just like Frank. He is intelligent, but also a drunk, so Lip is drawn to him to be “the father he didn’t have”. This is why it hurts when us, as well as Lip, are let down by Youens in court, and when we learn Lip wasn’t the only student he catered to.
Now, I’d will to return to Ian in a bit and first talk about Debbie who takes on the role of “The Hero”. Debbie is extremely self sufficient and we see that in the later seasons she attempts to fix the dysfunctional home life. For example, in S9 she begins to do home renovations. And in S10, while she did act a lot like Frank, by getting debt cards for the family, and having a budget, along with a chore list, it shows that she is reaching for some form of normalcy to pull the family up. I personally think she appears to be doing this more for herself but, without Fiona she does try to be the one running he house. In earlier seasons she is over-responsible for her age and wants to be treated like adult, all while catering to Frank.
Carl to me is “The Mascot” to Frank. He is “the dumb one” and that is played for comedic relief. In the earlier seasons, Carl is the one that constantly helps Frank. The family roles are devised in relation to Frank, and Carl is one of the last kids to see him for what he really is. While Carl is violent he also has such love and compassion for his siblings, telling Debs not to wear white when she gets her period, taking care of Liam, and even though he really wanted to go to the West Point mixer in S9 he offered to stay home with Lip, when Lip was going through a tough time. Carl’s generosity and commitment/praise to Frank shows that he tries to lesson the burden that is Frank’s addiction, all while assisting Frank in his schemes.
Now, Ian and Liam share the same role of “The Lost Child”, but in different ways. Ian is the third kid in the first half of six, and Liam is the third child in the second half of six, so it makes sense. Ian is the middle kid (and also technically not Frank’s), who separates himself from the rest of his siblings. Ian’s story arcs have always been with outside characters to the family (with characters such as Mandy or Mickey). In S1E7 the family is faking Frank’s death, Ian is not a part of that plot line till the very end because once again, his His storylines are separate. He is on his own, being independent. When Monica returns in S1 the family deals with it together, however Ian runs to Mickey. Ian also searches for a purpose (like the military, EMT, gay Jesus) to strive for so that he won’t feel so lost. Ian is extremely goal oriented. Another point I would like to bring up is his relationship with Monica. She is “the runway” and he feels the same. Being bipolar also makes Ian feel isolated because he worries that his family will view him like Monica. He is the only one dealing with it as well and instead of wanting to change, he wants people to accept him for who he is. Liam on the other hand fills this role because in the later seasons he begins to fly under the family’s radar. He deals with the repercussions of all of his family member’s actions and is often roped into Frank’s bullshit scams even while growing up. Liam was “a prop” at first and now is all alone with much older siblings. In S10 Lip asks Liam where everyone is, and Liam says that he misses having everyone around. He is lonely.
Keep in mind that these are my opinions and if you have any thoughts or disagree, I’d love for you to send me an ASK so we can discuss it!! I Find this really interesting and if you do as well, look up “ Dysfunctional Family Dynamics”, loads of info will pop up! I have much more to say for specific characters (even Sammi who acts out in rebellion wanting boundaries in S5a) but this was just my “quick breakdown”. If you made it through this whole thing, you’re the best. Thank you! 💙

JANE EYRE: INFP
Fi:
Jane Eyre, throughout the novel is completely devoted to her principles and beliefs. Although quiet and isolated Jane is not afraid to express her true opinion and judgments. When she observes Mr Rochester alienating Adele she gently teaches him that Adele should be treated with respect; Jane shows that she has strong empathy and will not accept people talking down to children “Adele is not answerable for either her Mother’s faults or yours (...) forsaken by her Mother and disowned by you, I shall cling closer to her than before”; Jane is stubborn and unmoving in her moral judgments in which she pulls from her internal beliefs (this is evident in the fact that these views are deeply against the social norms of the time). As Jane moves from place to place the things she clings to is her sense of self and her determination to be happy with her moral actions, this brings her great comfort in her circumstances “I can live alone if self-respect and circumstances require me to do so”; Jane leaves Thornfield on the pretence that she wouldn’t be able to live with herself if she were to stay and be tempted into living a bigamous marriage. Mr Rochester recognises that Jane is innocent and “untainted” leading him to ask Jane continuously if the actions he has taken are morally right to which Jane happily and honestly gives advice “you would in time find it possible to become what you yourself would approve”.Although Jane expresses to the reader that she loves Mr Rochester “while I breathe and think, I must love him” and is completely loyal to him, she will not act immorally for him “I like to serve you in all that is right” again proving that her principles are the most important thing to her and that she constantly evaluates things from an Fi perspective. Jane longs for love and affection which is what makes following her principles even harder as they often cost her the gateway to that in which she is seeking “to the crib I took my doll. Human beings must love something.”
Ne:
After establishing her principles and gaining all she feels she can from Lowood, Jane decides to move on. Although Jane is in search of a place or someone she belongs to, she easily becomes bored with the mundane and longs for deeper conversations and interactions finding Miss Fairfax, though kind, does not satisfy Jane in this way. Jane is intrigued and drawn in by Helen Burns and Miss Temples conversions as they discuss the bigger picture, she sees this as meaningful and interesting. Jane attaches herself quickly to Helen who is at first not particularly welcoming to Jane “you ask too many questions, I want to get back to my book” although this interaction could have put Jane off, she enjoys Helen’s insights and wisdom “Life appears to me too short to be spent in nursing animosity or registering wrongs”; Helen is wise and unlike other people around her, she talks about deeper matters of life in which Jane asks many questions about and seemingly absorbs the answers to (her Ne feeds her Fi); it is clear that many of Helen’s teachings are absorbed by Jane and brought into later life. Jane’s Ne lives for the excitement of deeper conversation and a thirst for diving into multiple hobbies including, painting, writing and playing the piano. It is this saviour function that ironically actually works as a saviour for Jane in her life, as a child she is told that she has ‘bad blood’ due to her emotional responses but her Ne and openness to new information (Helen and her teachings) transforms Jane into a principled and responsible young woman. In Mr Rochester Jane finds another person who enjoys deeper topics of conversation, he is also out of the box and strange, before Mr Rochester returned to Thornfield (before they met) she begins to find as months move pass by that she is becoming restless and again thinks of finding herself a new situation. However it is Mr Rochester and his company who keeps her at Thornfield. Jane also possesses a vivid imagination as she constantly invisions ghostly experiences in Gateshead, down the path whilst posting a letter (Gytrash), and most obviously at Thornfield hall; she expresses that as a child she only enjoyed reading stories about “fairies” and “genii”, and in later life is constantly told by Mr Rochester that she is like numerous different fairytale creatures and that she is“Unearthly.”
Si:
Sentimental and comfort seeking, Jane moves from place to place in search for a home and love. Jane consistently looks back over the past romanticising elements and also feeling upset over others. Though the book has to recollect her past, Jane has very strong feelings and statements to make regarding it. Jane reviews her past deeply and, remembers in great detail how she categorised each person and event she encountered. Jane has a Fi-Si loop which pulls her back in her personal journey; she has at times an unhealthy look on the past as she jumpes from one extreme view on the past to the other (pain and romanticism). After meeting the aristocratic group in which Mr Rochester brings to Thornfield one of the women automatically reminds Jane of Mrs Reed, Jane begins to sink into some of her past experiences of Mrs Reed and then forms somewhat of a disliking for the woman because she looks like her. When Jane returns to Gateshead to see Mrs Reed, memories flood back hitting her hard showing the power that Jane’s Si holds over her hitting her Fi at times very harshly. Obviously, we can all have bad memories but Jane is strongly guided by them and refers back to them many a time throughout her life, sometimes strongly living in the past “Old times crowded fast back on me”; “the inanimate objects were not changed; but the living things had altered past recognition” Jane clearly remembers Gateshead vividly as she travels back there in her mind frequently. It is clear that Jane’s Fi is strongly attached to her Si and is sometimes fed negative thoughts “I did not need directions to the well-known room, to which I had so often been summoned for chastisement in former days”; “the recollection of childhood terrors and sorrows revived”. Even the physical places in which Jane lives mean a lot to her as she categorises each place as a new stepping stone in her life.
Te:
Jane has a quiet and gentle nature however at moments during the novel her Te shows in a direct and passionate way; when Mr Rochester first talks about sending Jane off to a new place/situation, Jane quietly digests it trying not to show her grief, but over time Jane feels she cannot hold in her emotions anymore and speaks directly to Mr Rochester in an effort to get her views across which she had previously kept to herself “Do you think because I am poor, obscure, plain and little that I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! - I have as much soul as you - and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you." Mr Rochester is shocked by this side of Jane as it is rarely shown. Jane also speaks to the ‘gypsy lady’ directly as the interview she conducts feels uncomfortable, making Jane feel on edge and as a result she has a sharper tongue than usual “ ‘Why do you not consult my art?’ ‘because I am not silly.’ (...) “‘You are cold and you are silly’ ‘prove it’; Jane is more blunt and short when put on the spot by someone who is trying to read her deep emotions; making her defensive.
Hufflepuff:
One of Jane’s main traits is loyalty, she is loyal in many ways; Jane is loyal to her principles sticking to them strictly, she is loyal to Helen and her guidance, and she is most obviously loyal to Mr Rochester. Jane has no idea what Mr Rochester’s big secret is and doesn’t try to force it out of him or investigate herself (by perhaps going up to the tower), instead she trusts him and does whatever she can to serve him as a friend; “Can I help you, sir? - I’d give anything to serve you”, Jane earns the trust of Mr Rochester very quickly despite the fact that he is deeply secretive, as he sees that Jane is loyal and honest and would keep his secrets not wishing to harm him “ ‘my little friend!’ Said he, ‘I wish I were on a quiet island with only you” Mr Rochester knows that Jane does not easily judge or cast aside people and that if everyone else around him were to hate him, she would not. Jane is forgiving, even though she feels great sorrow in regard to Mrs Reed she forgives her “a strong yearning to forget and forgive all injuries- to be reconciled and clasp hands with amity” this shows that Jane is caring and not prideful or bitter, she has true Hufflepuff traits (wanting peace and harmony). As Well as this Jane is also hugely modest and uncompetitive in nature “I will do my best; it is a pity that doing one’s best does not always answer”; “If he expects me to talk for the sake of talking and showing off, he will find he has addressed himself to the wrong person”, Jane is disinterested in gossip and being boastful and competitive, when Jane and Mr Rochester plan to get married Jane refuses to have anything big and over the top wanting only the simple things in life, the simple things strongly include love for Jane; “There is no happiness like that of being loved by your fellow-creatures, and feeling that your presence is an addition to their comfort”. When she learns that her uncle died and left her a huge sum of money, Jane’s initial reaction was sadness as she had never met her uncle, and not excitement towards the money that would mean a different life for her. Jane holds love above everything else. Jane is a Hufflepuff because she values, loyalty, kindness, modesty, fair-play and hard-work.

Will Prince Harry Attend Remembrance Day? Draft, WIP
This is speculation only.
Practise spread - we will see how much I get written up.
Celtic Cross Spread
Spread drawn at approximately 4.15am on the 15th of September GMT
Cards used: The Mythic Tarot (the cards are based on a version of Greco-Roman mythology; the descriptions are more the mixed, popular culture version of mythology than the original myths, so keep that in mind as you read the interpretations below)
All interpretations taken from the book that came with the cards
*
The Celtic Cross had 3 Major Arcanas out of 10 cards, so while this is significant for the BRF and will be played out on the world stage, it is not hugely significant for them (only 1/3 or so of the cards were major arcana). Of the remaining 7 cards, there were 3 Cups, 2 Swords, and 2 Wands. No Pentacles. So this is not about money, it is about family and emotions and being nurturing (Cups), long-term, strategic planning (Swords), and the image that is communicated to those outside the BRF (Wands). Repeated numbers were two Sixes, two Twos, and two Nines. I usually only consider repeated numbers if they repeat three or more times.
*
Bottom of the Deck - Overall Theme - Strength (Card 10)
This card shows Heracles wrestling with the Nemean Lion in a cave.
The lion can represent royalty, even at its most destructive, i.e. Harry. The lion is also the infantile, savage, and completely egocentric beginnings of individuality, i.e. Harry's attempts to 'find himself' as a person and all the damage these attempts have caused to others. The lion here is the Nemean Lion, which possessed a hide that no weapon could pierce, giving it a shield of invincibility, i.e. Harry's position in the Royal family. Here the Nemean Lion stands for a "Me First" drive that will happily destroy anyone and anything in its path, as long as its gratification is assured. One of the manifestations of this "Me First" drive is an furious, explosive, rage-driven tantrum when the person does not get their own way. Another is bombast and an inflated sense of self importance, making the person savage and unrelenting both towards the people on whom they are dependent (i.e. Harry and the BRF) and the people [who they see as] stealing their limelight (also harry and the BRF).
Heracles wresting with the lion shows the struggle we all face to subdue the lion's unbridled individualism and make it serve a higher purpose; the need to subdue our desires and care for others so that together we can form a caring and responsible community instead of being a collection of individuals running rampant and destroying each other in our need for instant gratification. It is considering the long-term consequences of our actions and putting other's needs before our desires. Courage, strength and self discipline are necessary to see the struggle through to a successful conclusion.
In this specific instance, the card shows the BRF (and their long tradition of service to their country) wresting with Harry's unbridled egomania. Do they include him as part of the family (and the BRF is all about family), or do they cut him off and show quite clearly that however loved as a brother, he is no longer a member of the Royal Family. Will they sucumb to his temper tantrums and unjust accusations, or will they hold firm for the good of "the Firm"? What damage will he do if he is allowed to attend? If they place limits on him, will he follow them (hint: No)? These are the questions the BRF is struggling with at the moment, and while the course of action may seem clear to an outsider, for them it is not yet decided.
*
Significator: The Moon (card 18)
This is where the situation is at this moment in time.
The card shows the goddess Hecate, associated with the Moon, magic and the underworld. Hecate is an ancient goddess, as the BRF is an old regime. She is shown of the card with a cute-looking (not terrifying) Cerberus, who guards the entry to the Underworld, a domain associated with her and full of mystery, wisdom and hidden riches. To me this signifies that Prince Harry thinks that going back to the BRF (here represented by Hecate and the underworld) will be easy, as there is no monster guarding the way, only a cute dog (who will be expected to roll over and obey his commands). Hecate, shown here as an older woman (and usually shown as a very old woman, like the Queen) is looking to the past, the present and the future all at once, as the BRF must do in making this decision. As an impersonal image of the feminine, one of the rulers of the Underworld, she represents the Queen in her role as the ruler of Great Britian and some countries of the Commonwealth, a figure who cannot be the warm and loving grandmother that we know she is with Harry, but who rather must be the impersonal Ruler who puts the good of her country above all else.
In the bottom right hand corner of the card, supporting Cerberus and Hecate, is a crab. The crab is the sign of Cancer, and Cancer is the sun sign of Prince William. Prince William may very well be acting as the 'right hand man' pf the Queen during this decision making process. The unseen presence of the underworld in the background suggests the hidden presence of Prince Charles, a sun sign Scorpio, as Scorpio is the sign that rules the Underworld. Prince Charles may be working behind the scenes in this decision, absent in flesh but present in spirit.
The road to Hecate's realm is the 'royal road' of dreams, and Prince Harry may well be hoping to either using his visible status as a royal (supported by an appearance at Remembrance Day) to fulfil his non-royal dreams, or to use his appearance at remembrance Day as a road back to his previous status as a taxpayer funded working Royal sometime in the future, or both together.
Hecate was associated with the crossroads, which suggests that this decision is a crossroads for the BRF - they have to choose a path and move forward on it, removing all other options. Hecate also had the power (according the to tarot book) of bestowing or withholding from a mortal any desired gift, and that is exactly the position that the BRF are in - do they bestow the desired gift of attendance upon Harry (and his wife), or do they withhold it?
So the BRF is facing a choice, a crossroads. There is confusion (heart versus head) and anxiety over this choice, and it has not yet been made. The Major Arcana card says that this is a major decision and one that will have a lasting impact on all involved.
* Crossing Card : Queen of Cups
This is the main obstacle in making the decision.
The card represents Helen, the woman who was married to one man (the King of Sparta), fell in love and ran away with another (the Prince of Troy), and thus instigated the Trojan Wars (during the course of which she took three more lovers). As a woman who created a crisis in the ruling family of her country by following her own selfish desires, the parallel to Meghan Markle is obvious. If you look at the woman on the card, she resembles Meghan Markle as she is today with her long black extensions. As well as creating trouble wherever she goes (as Helen of Troy did), Meghan Markle has also run away with a prince of the BRF (a neat inversion of Prince Paris running away with Helen). My feeling is that the obstacle is not so much Meghan Markle herself, but rather her effect on Prince Harry, the loved grandson of the Queen and prince of the BRF.
The Queen of Cups can be seen as a woman who is a catalyst for the emergence of deep feelings and fantasies that have previously been hidden from awareness, and there is no doubt that in his association with Meghan Markle, the public have become aware of Prince Harry's rage and contempt for both the BRF and his position within it, something that was previously skillfully hidden by the 'Hero Harry" and "Harry the lad" PR. This emergence in the public eye of the 'real' Prince Harry is also part of the obstacle the BRF faces in making this decision.
Another meaning of the Queen of Cups is a loving and nurturing woman. As such, the card can be taken to represent Princess Diana. From this perspective, the obstacle is not Meghan Markle herself but rather her unsuccessful attempts to push herself onto the public as Princess Diana 2.0, with her constant cries of "racism" and her accusations of the BRF as "unsupportive", "mean", and "treating her like they did Princess Diana". While easily disproven in themselves, these statements gain traction when they are supported by Prince Harry, either by his actions, his own statements against the BRF, or his silence.
Prince Harry is considered by most to be under the thumb of Meghan Markle. He supports her behaviour in tearing down his family and appears to be transforming into a woke male version of herself. Prince Harry is known to have mental issues, and as the nurturing, caring force represented by the Queen of Cups the BRF may hesitate to do anything that could worsen hos mental state. Unfortunately, this leaves them open to emotional blackmail by Prince Harry (the negative side of the Queen of Cups), as he will not hesitate to use the "Princess Diana Card" and remind everyone of the trauma he suffered as a child to get his own way (the fact that Prince William suffered the same trauma while also a child does not seem to occur to anyone).
The crossing card is a Minor Arcana card, so while the obstacles are being considered carefully by the BRF, they are not a huge problem, as would be the case if a Major Arcana card appeared in this position. The Minor Arcana card shows something that is a nusiance but that also is a problem that is definitely manageable/surmountable.
* Crowning Card and Base of the Matter Card: Ace of Wands and Six of Swords
This is where I made a mistake in the spread.
When I drew the cards, I drew the Ace of Wands as the third card and put it in the Crowing Card position, and then I drew the Six of Swords as the fourth card and put it in the Base of the Matter position. However, before I started this spread, I formed the intention of doing the spread as it appeared in the accompanying book, and that book spread has the third card as the Base of the Matter and the fourth card as the Crowning Card.
I put the cards in the wrong positions. Bollocks.
Rather than choosing between my intention to follow the book spread or my instinct in putting down the cards, I have decided to honour both and read both cards together as both the Crowning Card and the Base of the Matter Card (next time I will double check the spread before I draw the cards).
Card 3: the Ace of Wands
Due to certain life events, the Ace of Wands is strongly linked in my mind with the male, um, 'manhood', and that phallic imagery immediately suggests that someone here is being "led by their dick", that someone being Prince Harry (apparently Prince Charles referred to it as being 'cunt-struck'). This association is strengthened by the card showing a male wearing a crown and holding the world in one hand while the other holds a thick wand emitting flames (the phallic imagery of the wand is obvious and I won't detail it here). The crown and the world can be taken as showing Harry's previous status as a royal prince, where the world was his oyster (more or less).
The image on the card is the god Zeus, who is famous (or infamous) for not being able to keep it in his pants, and thus reinforces the "led by his dick" meaning.
The Ace of Wands as a card symbolises the creative power of the imagination, the impulse that makes us restless and dissatisfied until we formulate and manifest it in the world (successfully or not). It is important to note that here the idea has not been thought through and formulated; it is simply a dissatisfaction, a feeling that things could be different. I believe that it was this feeling of dissatisfaction that led to Prince Harry leaving the BRF. He could have looked for ways to improve his role/position/life within the BRF. Instead he chose to leave when his wife did and, together with her, to pursue another future outside the BRF.
The Ace of Wands, like all aces, also indicates something new. This indicates that this situation is something new for the BRF - never before has a blood royal left Great Britian to live as a minor celebrity n Hollywood. As with all new situations, they may be uncertain as to what is the best response, especially as we now live in an age of instant social media (and not the previous time of newspaper media, which was slower and could be controlled by the BRF).
Card 4: the Six of Swords
Here we have Orestes, the doomed hero, travelling to Argos to fulfil his terrible duty to murder his mother. He is travelling through rough water, although calmer weather lies ahead. This figure again has echoes of Prince Harry, whose mother died when he was young, and who has left the country of his birth to travel overseas and make his home in another land. This is the Prince Harry who is no longer a working royal and who has left the BRF for the life of a wanna-be celebrity in Los Angeles. Orestes's future murder of his mother could show Prince Harry's future 'murder' by overexposure of his mother's image via documentary, after dinner speeches, and Netflix musical, as well as his constant use of the "Princess Diana Card". For both Orestes and Prince Harry, this journey appears to be one-way; both have left with no intention of returning to their former place of residence.
Orestes was born in Argos, banished to Phocis, and returned to Argos to avenge his father by murdering his mother. Harry was born in Great Britain, willingly left for a life in Los Angeles (and there are articles saying how unhappy he is there and how he feels in 'exile'), and now he is trying to return home - to resume his role in the BRF, or like Orestes, to 'murder his mother' by trying to complete the destruction of the public image of the BRF who bore, raised and nurtured him? Both interpretations are possible, and indeed by doing the first the BRF may achieve the second. Popular opinion seems to be that the UK public are very glad to be rid of Prince Harry and his wife, and they do not want them to return - ever. These sentiments and the possibilities of what Prince Harry will do in Los Angeles are things to be considered in making the decision whether to extend him an invitation or not.
The Six of Swords in general shows a time of moving on, a time when clear thoughts, understanding and logic will ease a difficult situation and propel you into smoother waters. Sentiment and emotions (cups) play no part in this process, it is all duty and an acceptance of your obligations. This, then, appears to be the path of the BRF - to decide with the mind and not with the heart.
Together
As the Crowning Card, these two cards show the situation as it appears to others - Prince Harry being led by his dick to leave the BRF and create a future for himself in another country as a minor celebrity.
As the Base of the Matter, these two cards show other motivations - Prince Harry being prompted to leave by dissatisfaction with his life as well as sexual desire, the idea of having him invited to remembrance Day bringing with it the danger of destroying the reputation of the BRF, the fears of what exactly he will do in Los Angeles if he is - or is not invited, and above all the necessity for clear, logical thought without sentiment to find a path through this situation.
*
Past Influences: Justice (card 8)
This is what has influenced the situation in the past. The situation is moving away from it.
The Justice card shows the goddess Athena, seated on her throne, holding the sword and scales of justice. Athena sprung fully formed from the head of Zeus, so this Justice is impersonal, abstract, a thing of thought and not passions. This is further emphasised by the armour worn by the goddess. Her chest and her back are encased in steel, stiffening her spine and enclosing/locking away her heart, the seat of emotions. It is like the judgement handed down in a court case is supposed to be - the situation is weighed against the law and, if found wanting, a punishment prescribed by the law is delivered. There is no room for the passions or emotions in this sort of justice. Facts are all that matter.
The female goddess Athena represents the Queen, a powerful female who made the decisions in this matter. This impersonal, abstract, emotionless justice is how the Queen has dealt with this situation with Prince Harry in the past (to the best of her ability). She has considered the facts, weighed them in her mind, and delivered a consequence. The goddess is armoured and armed with a spear, and so the Queen has acted not out of personal pain but in defence of her institution (the BRF) and her realm.
As the goddess is sitting down, the consequences were more often passive than active; the result of Prince Harry's repeated actions rather than actions taken to forestall them. Like the scales the goddess holds in her hand, the Queen did her best to deliver consequences that she saw as balanced and fair (no matter how the rest of the world saw them). Athena is the goddess of strategy, and the Queen would have taken the strategic long view when deciding on the consequences for Prince Harry's actions. Justice is the card of Libra, and Libra aims for civilised harmony, so the Queen may have had that as a goal in making her decisions (for example, playing Happy Families and presenting aunited front to the world).
The fact that this is a past influence suggests that things are going to change. A new force will lie behind the actions of the BRF. Prince Harry may not be aware of this change. Justice is said to be blind, and he may go blindly forward, expecting everything to work out the same as it had in the past.
This is a Major Arcana card, so it was very important in the past for the treatment of Prince Harry to be seen as fair and unbiased by emotion. Whether this holds true for the future remains to be seen.
*
Future Influences: Nine of Wands
These are the influences on the situation that are going to appear in the immediate future. The situation is moving towards this.
The Nine of Wands shows the ship Argo just before it passes the final obstacle in its journey home, the Clashing Rocks, and comes into the safe harbour of the city of Argos. The sails of the ship are tattered and torn, for it has been through many difficulties on its voyage, and only one final obstacle remains between it and its goal. That obstacle is the Clashing Rocks, a pair of huge rocks that clashed together whenever a ship sailed between them, crushing the ship between them. The captain of the ship, Jason, acted on the advice from a crew member and released a dove between the rocks to see how fast the crew would have to row to escape them. The dove lost a few tail feathers, and by rowing at a similar speed, as fast as they could, the Argo passed between the rocks, losing only its stern ornament. After this defeat the rocks became motionless, facing each other across the sea.
For this card, the Argo represents both the BRF and Prince Harry. Both have been battered by the events of the past, and both want to come to a calm and stable future. Standing between them and this outcome is the Clashing Rocks, which represent the interests of the BRF on the one side and the desires of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the other. A passage between the two needs to be negotiated without destroying either the BRF or Prince Harry. Then the rocks will freeze in place, the calm and stable future will be reached, and both parties will continue to hold the positions that are seen at this event. Otherwise, one or both party will be destroyed between the rocks of their conflicting goals.
Like the dove, both Prince Harry and/or the BRF might have to lose a few tail feathers to achieve this result. The compromises will not be significant in the overall scheme of things - the dove can still fly away and regrow its feathers; similarly both Prince Harry and the BRF will recover from whatever compromises they have to make to achieve this future.
The passage to this future will not be easy. The sea around the rocks is turbulent and the crew of the ship are exhausted. it is the same with the BRF and Prince Harry. They have both been on a long journey, and both are exhausted, and finally the end is in sight. Then one last hurdle appears. The obstacle may have been foreseen, as the crew of the Argo knew of the Clashing Rocks, or it may suddenly arise from the depths and stand before them. They must try again, one last time, to overcome this obstacle and finally reach their goal.
The Nine of Wands represents one last burst of energy that comes from the willingness to try again, one last time, even though you are exhausted, when a final obstacle arises and stands between you and your goals. That willingness to try will bring forth fresh energy and new ideas. It is this last burst that can carry both Prince Harry and the BRF through the rocks and through any compromises into the safe harbour beyond, their positions set for the future. The alternative is for one or both parties to be destroyed. Blindly rushing ahead, refusing to take the time to observe and plan and take advice, will result in the person being crushed between the rocks and drowning. Only by planning and taking advice, as Jason did when he released the dove and calculated the rowing speed required, will a safe passage be assured.
The member who advised Jason to release the dove was Phineus, a King rescued from his torments by two of the crew of the Argo during their long journey, and who then joined the crew on their quest. Perhaps someone in a similar position may offer wise advice to the BRF and/or Prince Harry.
Wands can represent PR (creativity, ideas). It is very likely that this final obstacle (future influence) will either be in itself or will come from PR pieces designed to stir up the emotions of the general public (emotions are water and the ship is sailing through a turbulent/stirred up sea). As the PR from the Harkle camp has already shown itself capable of being extremely nasty, I expect either something even nastier from them that completely crosses one or more lines, or for Meghan Markle to turn on Prince Harry and tear him to pieces. The current trend of the Harkle PR can go either way.
*
Where One Finds Oneself: Judgement (card 20)
This is what will happen in the near future. The situation is moving towards this.
Here we see Hermes the Psychopomp, the traveller between two worlds, who brings messages to and from the Underworld, summons the dead to the Underworld, restores the dead to life, and who leads heroes out of the Underworld.
When we die, it is said that our life passes before our eyes, and in we go the the abode of the dead, where we are judged for our deeds and delivered into peace or torment. This is where Prince Harry will find himself. Gone is the abstract justice of the past, now his actions will be judged with emotion, based on how they affect the BRF, and he will be punished or promoted accordingly.
If we look at the picture, we can see a land of glowing wheat fields at the top of the stairs. To me this is England, the Underworld is the life of exile in Hollywood, and Hermes is the messanger between the worlds, with a message that has been or will be sent to Prince Harry. How Prince Harry responds will determine whether he is led out of the underworld and back to the wheat fields of England, or whether he is left to languish in the darkness of Hollywood. Hermes as a God often displays deceit and trickery, and here he could also represent not a message, but Prince Harry trying to lie and cheat his way back into his past privleges as a member of the BRF.
Whether or not Prince Harry returns to England, he faces a judgement. Should he be restored to some of his past privleges, should he be seen to be a member of the Windosr family but not the BRF (i.e. present in a minor role), or should he simply be excluded from all public events? This is not the cold, abstract, passive Justice of the past, but a Judgement that is active, as Hermes is upright and moving in this card, and a Judgement that is emotional, full of the hurt and pain that he has caused to others (to his family on a personal level, to the BRF as an institution, and to the British public whose taxes have supported him his entire life). This is a very different sort of "judge and jury" than in the past, and I don't think Prince Harry is aware of the change. He is represented here by the dead people, as he "died" by cutting himself off from the BRF. They are swathed in bandages that block their eyes, ears, and mouth, as Prince Harry is blind, deaf and dumb to the changes that await him in the BRF.
The Judgement card is the card of Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio, and Prince Charles is a sun-sign Scorpio. This suggests that Prince Charles is going to move from a force in the background to a major player, front and centre (as Hermes is in the card) in the decision about whether Prince Harry is invited to Remembrance Day or not, and if so in what capacity. Scorpio is a water sign, and water signs are very emotional, so this judgement of Prince Harry's worth as a member of the BRF is going to be based on an emotional response to all his past actions, the good and the bad, the ones Prince Harry accepts as his and the ones where he places the blame upon others . The Judgement card is a Major Arcana card, which says that the judgement on his position is a major event and it will be seen on the world stage.
The Judgement card also shows the personal process in which Prince Harry will find himself in the near future. He will face the consequences of all his actions, both those he admits to and those where he has avoided responsibility. All of those actions will be called to account, not just on a world stage but also on a personal stage, and Prince Harry will be confronted with the realisation of what he has done and how it has created his future (whether he accepts his part in this or chooses to play the eternal victim is another matter entirely). The Judgement card signifies the end of a chapter in his life. Whether the next part is sweet or bitter, as part of the BRF or alone in Hollywood, will be the result of all his actions, past and present.

heyyit’s tilda here again but with, this time, menelaus !! resident fuck boi ( ? ) with an actual heart, but also a shadow boi. either give this a like or catch me on discord at cassandra of troy.#4764
WANTED CONNECTIONS. ( wip ) CHEAT SHEET.
APPLICATION :
— ✹ HEED THE MURMUR ! The Halls of Sparta welcome ( MENELAUS ) the ( PRINCE ) of ( MYCENAE ). The bards tell us they are approaching ( 30 ) and strike a likeness to ( ALEX HOGH ANDERSEN ). Their deeds precede them in the world — extoled to be ( ADVENTUROUS, PASSIONATE & ENTHUSIASTIC ) yet ( ARROGANT, TRANSPARENT & IMPULSIVE ) in their worst hour. When they enter a quiet room, shadows of ( BUBBLING CAULDRONS OF FOREIGN SCENTS, THE SCENT OF BLOOD ON THE WIND FROM A PASSING BATTLE and THE EMPTY HALLS OF THE TEMPLE OF POSEIDON ) spring forward. Their opinion about the marriage contest is a ( POSITIVE ) one. Their purpose at the Spartan court falls in line with ( MAKING A NAME FOR HIMSELF ).
PLOT POINTS
To win Helen’s hand would be a glory indeed. To marry, potentially, the most beautiful woman on earth would be enough to level his name to his older brother’s who is famed for brutality, bravery and a strength only ever seen amongst demi-gods. In truth, he loves his brother dearly. But love is not the same as trust. And trust does not grow within Menelaus’ heart, not for his brother or anyone. What truly lives between his bones and pumping veins is envy, the sense captivating his entire building with as much strength as a mirror can destroy a gorgon. Once landing upon Spartan’s shores, Menelaus will fight for Helen’s life as if he was fighting for his life. But he does not fight for love, lust or the riches of Sparta. Instead, he fights for prestige and prestige alone. After all, what is love to a man who was born in the shadows of better beings? TDLR: Menelaus will fight fiercely for Helen’s hand.
It seemed that everyone around Menelaus had some god chosen deity, the singular figures plucked by the gods themselves, chosen with gold and ivory and other such gems that meant that THEY were special. Menelaus was lost to the shadows of the earth, and perhaps in the eyes of the gods, he was nothing but a ghost. After crossing the leagues of ocean, Menelaus will begin to step into the empty temples that belong in sacrifice to the wrathful Poseidon. Many stray from such a deity, if only due to the wrath and temper that takes the lives of innocents and sinners with the single wave from the ocean. People only come when offering sacrifice in a feeble hope to stop him from smiting loved ones on long journeys. And so, in Meneleaus’ head, it seems that Poseidon is the patron deity for him; and with effort, sacrifice and vows he may induct himself to carry the sea god’s name. But, it is one thing to vie for his attention, an other to wield it. After all, what is Poseidon asking for in return? TDLR: Menelaus will search for Poseidon’s guidance and care, which will only mean something foul in the long run.
It has been said before and it will be said till the end of times that Menelaus grew behind Agamemnon’s groomed, strong shadow. To grow in the shadows is to forgo the sunlight, the glory and the legend that comes with the House of Atreus. In fact, such a lack of exposure only meant that Menelaus went without tenderness, compassion and sweetness that may have come naturally to anyone else. He watched on as his brother climbed to the tainted throne of their father, and watched as Agamemnon took to the role with greater steed than Menelaus would have imagined. The only matter that may bring Menelaus forward in terms of prestige and status is Helen’s hand. If such a union does not become whole I dare to propose that Menelaus and Agamemnon will become enemies more than brothers, for the lesser brother will find a way to undermine Agamemnon as he searches out his own name and own fortunes. TDLR: if Menelaus does not get Helen’s hand, he will try to kill Agamemnon out of either madness or jealousy or both.
IF THEY ARE A MORTAL, WHAT WOULD THEY FIGHT FOR ? WHAT WOULD THEY DIE FOR ?
It is your god-given right to marry Helen of Sparta.
He knew that he knew that with more sincerity than he knew his own name, as he stood at the first night of celebrations of Sparta’s ceremony. For years he lived alongside her as a young boy, yet he always seemed to miss her eye - in fact, was she looking towards Agamemnon? The brother he hid behind? Wait, was he hiding behind his brother? Confusion riddles him mad, almost.
Questions and uncertainty wobble Menelaus from his pedestal. He is unlike Athena, who boasts such wisdom. He is unlike any soul who can act one way and think another - for Menelaus only offers what he thinks and feels, honesty not such a virtue but a vice that weakens him in such plays that leaves him exposed to intrigue and plots of disaster.
But he could trust Agamemnon, could he not? Surely he would not fight for Helen’s hand when it is clear that it is the lesser daughter, Clytemnestra, who fights for his hand instead? Just thinking about him leaves Menelaus shook and stirred; cracking knuckles to the beat of his heart, or sucking on teeth till he ran out of puff.
Oh yes, he is no actor. And if he loses the fight to win Helen then he, without doubt, will lose his mind to a madness that rots an innocent's core. Even then, my friend, he is not innocent. In fact, how many lives had he cut down from the head of his sword? How many lives had he sent to the Underworld under the guiding light of Hermes? In honesty, you could not count such numbers on your piggy fingers and nor could Menelaus, who did not care for the heads he cut from feeble necks.
Even then, was that enough to win the hand of the Spartan princess? Oh, wise Gods, why do you plague the man who only did what he was told? Why curse Menelaus, who was already given such grief by being raised beneath his older brother’s impending shadow? Had he not been a good servant?
In his head, at least, he believed to be the better of mortals who roamed the earth at the Gods’ will and believed to be the most deserving of the suitors who travelled to Sparta. It was his God-given right, he knew that. He knew that fact with his whole, bleeding heart. In fact, why were they putting on a show when her hand would be rightfully directed to him?
Yes, confusion spins Menelaus’ from his true fixture upon Earth, but would he ever come down from such great heights? With the questions laid upon the mortals in a way to test their souls and nature, Menelaus lifts his head to poke his nose up towards the heavens - his pompous nature is one undeserved, everyone else knew that.
Yet Menelaus, with his cruel and wavering hands, believes that confidence comes first - how else would he earn the eye of the Gods?
“I will be fighting for Helen!” He shouts, his answer loud and proud for all to hear as one hand goes to his chest - to rest upon his heart that no longer beats but simmers beneath his bones and blue blood.
“For she is all I desire in this world, and she deserves a man with the soul of a warrior, the brain of a mentor and the heart of a husband!” His followers ( or were they simply Agamemnons? ) cheer with volume and heart, leaving Menelaus to smirk from beneath his unshaven beard.
“I will not die, my friends. The Gods themselves won’t allow it!” In truth, how could the gods allow it? For not one had chosen Menelaus as their champion, and instead, he searched upon their temples for one to pluck him from his brother’s breast - Hera, were you not supposed to look with kinder eyes upon brothers who mimicked Hades and Poseidon?
“With my brother’s brain and my brawn, there is no way I may leave this land empty-handed. For love, for legend and Helen!”
