The ghost king was a cat.
No one, not even Constantine, knew of this fact. Until the day the eldritch ghost of the infinite was summoned by a wayward cult who wished for the destruction of the world.
He was a large cat, actually. About, roughly, bigger than a car with green fur, an eyepatch over one of his eyes, large horns-thought one was broken-, and a flaming green crown floating above his head.
The ghost king laid on his side and the summoning seemingly interrupted him from... grooming? A smaller cat that laid next to the king that, while smaller than the king (or perhaps his father?) was larger than the average dog.
Meanwhile, Pariah Dark is not exactly pleased he was summoned, with obvious intent to destroy/enslave a world. How rude of them. Don't they know he's on, what was it?
Danny: Your redemption arc, dad.
Yes, his redemption arc!

A Clockwork Orange Notes
Tumblr media
PART ONE
-Already the book starts differently than the movie, don't hate me for watching the movie before reading the book. The boys hassle a smoke shop before the homeless man, which was not included in the movie. They sweeten up some old ladies at a diner (?) as an alibi.
-"It's a stinking world because it lets the young get on to the old like you done, and there's no law nor order no more."
-"--The attempt to impose upon man, a creature of growth and capable of sweetness, to ooze juicily at the last round the bearded lips of God, to attempt to impose, I say, laws and conditions appropriate to a mechanical creation, against this I raise my sword-pen" pg 27. Foreshadowing.
-Alex is the alpha of the pack, just as he was in the movie.
-Alex is a teenager, or college age student.
-Alex's dream of Georgie being a general is also foreshadowing.
-P. R. Deltoid's warning to Alex tells us that Alex has been caught and in trouble before, enough times for him to have a post corrective advisor stop to visit him in his home. Sent there by Alex's mother.
-I think it's important to note that Alex using the same "my friend has fainted" play has it's own glimpse onto Alex's intelligence. While he does make himself appear to be high and mighty, no one is smarter than me, type character, why would he use the same play to lure people into opening their doors for him? If it's worked a few times in the past to get him what he wants, eventually people will catch the repetition and become warned of that phrase. Maybe that is why the cat lady was suspicious of the phrase from the start. She'd been warned and did the right thing but denying him entry and calling the police right away. Our Humble Narrator isn't as smart as he thinks.
-Alex is 15 at the the story takes place.
-Alex's lingo has a chokehold on my every waking moment. It haunts me how fluid it feels when I'm reading it, even though I have no idea what he's saying most of the time. I do find it interesting how the author indicates that the adults in the story speak without Alex's lingo, they speak "proper".
PART TWO
-Alex is now 17.
-It seems like in the film they completely removed the second murder Alex was convicted of, which I feel would have been important towards telling his story. In the film, they show Alex having taken responsibility and showing interested in becoming a better man. In the book, Alex is still manipulative and a bad character. He hasn't learned from his crimes. He's just annoyed that he is forced to be around people he considers to be lesser than him. He's disgusted by them. He's looking in the mirror and refuses to see his own reflection.
-Aversion therapy is what is happening here, where the patient is given an undesirable stimuli while being shown images, or in Alex's case, films, in order to treat the unwanted behavior. This was also administered as treatment for "curing" homosexuality back in the day alongside castration to cure gayness. While the practice has been looked down upon and shamed for the mental harm it causes patients who underwent this treatment, unfortunately conversion therapy and aversion therapy is still practiced today. However, there are proper non-harmful ways to use aversion therapy and is sometimes recommended by therapists. Aversion therapy is a type of behavioral therapy. It is sometimes used to help treat nail biting, alcoholism (some medications used to treat alcohol abuse trigger a sick feeling response when alcohol is consumed), and smoking.
-The "vitamin" injection was the undesirable stimuli, making Alex feel weak and the showing of the criminal activities on film made Alex condition criminal activity with feeling sick. Which is why later on when Alex is kicked around and shown breasts, he becomes sick. This is similar to the alcoholism aversion therapy medication which makes the patient nauseous when they consume alcohol. The author writing about this therapy did a great job at expressing the thoughts and actions and makes me wonder if he did this on purpose or if it was accidental.
-Alex is quickly beginning to realize the horrors he had committed. While it was fun and games for him before, now having the undesirable stimuli to punish his behavior is teaching him that crime is not fun and games.
-I wonder why they didn't show a scene of Alex hitting his head against the wall and showing sickness from it in the film. I feel they grazed over this part of the book, showing Alex and the films, his shouting and anger at the doctors playing his favorite music, but the read pain is in Alex's physical reactions. A duality can be found between pre-cured Alex and the correctional doctors, the violence is different but still violence. Same with the police violence towards the end.
-"Am I just to be like a clockwork orange?" page 129.
PART THREE
-Alex still feels higher than everyone else, that he's more important than everyone else.
-In the end, Alex didn't learn anything. He went right back to worshipping violence.

Summary: Derek misses Hotch while he's working at the Seattle Field Office.
Pairing: Hotch/Morgan
Warnings: mentions of sex (not graphic)
Words: 1.7k
Notes: Pure, unadulterated cute. I sprinted out the entire barebones rough draft in 20 minutes and did my best to flesh it out but there just isn't a lot of substance here. It's just sweet, adorable, idiots in love...pwp but the cute no smut version.
**
“You've been gone for fourteen days...” Derek moans, spinning around in his chair. It's way too late to still be in the office, he knows, but it's the only time he gets to talk to Hotch who is 3 hours behind him in Seattle. The time difference feels surreal.
Short and fast, that was what they'd said. They needed someone to fill in and run the Seattle Field Office while they found a new leader, a week tops. They already had someone in mind. Except that person bailed, and now they're back at square one and well...the BAU has Derek to keep them in line, so Hotch has been over in the Emerald City for fourteen days and counting.
This isn't as bad as his station in Pakistan, but Derek had lulled himself into a false sense of security. It wouldn't happen again. That was an aberration. They'd tried to tap Hotch for Section Chief, and he always wound up right at his desk in the BAU like he belonged there.
But fourteen days...two weeks...that's when a short trip starts feeling an awful lot like something with real permanence.
“I think they've got their eye on someone,” Hotch says absentmindedly, pouring over a stack of employee evaluations that were turned in to him that day. He doesn't even know these people, he's just signing off on things. Putting his signature out there on things he can't exactly back up. It's not his usual prerogative, but these are desperate times. He's just a suit in a chair. Except he knows the truth...they love him here, they've wanted him back since he left and someone thought maybe bringing him here might remind him how much he loved this office too.
And he does. It's been a breath of fresh air being back in Seattle. But he can't live here, his family won't follow.
“I just want you home.”
“How has it been with you and Jack?”
“Great. He's great, he listens to me, we've been playing lots of games and eating lots of junk food...”
“Derek...”
“What? When the cat's away...”
That's not true. Derek hasn't fed Jack any junk food, that's been all Jessica who stops at the grocery store every day before picking Jack up for school and brings them some kind of treat. Ice cream, candy bars, sugary breakfast cereal, She eats her feelings. She also doesn't like when you point that out.
“How much longer?”
“I don't know.”
Gifts started showing up in Seattle on the third day. Nothing major. Just lunch, a burger and fries delivered to Hotch's desk from The Athenian.
“Sleepless in Seattle?” Hotch texted and Derek sent back a little red heart. He had enough to take back to the hotel and eat for dinner as well, though it didn't make it that far in the end. He ate his dinner at his desk as well...one of those days.
Never one to be outdone, he made sure coffee and pastries were waiting for Derek when he arrived at work the next morning.
And so it went, each exchanging little gifts of food and flowers from three thousand miles apart. Hotch hadn't even considered what he would have to eat in forever, Derek had it scheduled every day like clockwork. Jessica called it twisted. “Here I am gaining ten pounds with all the ice cream I have to buy myself and you two are playing cross-country footsie. It's disgusting.”
The next morning there was a chocolate croissant and a coffee waiting for her at her desk. Neither of them told her who was responsible and it didn't matter, it made her day. She was in on the game.
Donuts were sent to Jack's classroom courtesy of Voodoo Donuts. Hotch had to make a trip down to Portland to meet with another SAC and figured why not. Jack's classroom would get a kick out of the wild colors and silly little voodoo doll shapes, and he got to spend an hour waiting outside in the rain in a line that stretched around the block. Some might grumble at that, but Hotch likes the rain and he loves not being cooped up inside of an office building. Sure, he was cold and miserable, but he was also happy. (And out quite a pretty penny when all was said and done, shipping a box of donuts across the country fast enough to keep them relatively fresh wasn't cheap.)
He got a hot drip coffee and a fresh maple bar for his troubles.
“Seventeen days...” Derek whines. He's temping his roasted chicken, which he should have put in earlier, he knows that dammit. He's angry when it's still ten degrees below where he needs it. That's at least another half hour, they're going to be eating late again. “I miss you.”
“I miss you too.”
A bouquet of bright orange tiger lilies shows up at his office around mid-morning on a day when Hotch has been feeling rather under the weather. He's had a headache for three days, the kind that makes your jaw tight and your teeth sing. It could be his sinuses or maybe dehydration, maybe it's just his body telling him it needs a rest. He hasn't had a day off since he arrived in Seattle, not really. They're no closer to finding someone to take over than they were the week prior, no one wants the job. The flowers make him smile in spite of the way his tight jaw clicks and groans like rusty old machinery.
“Thank you,” he says when Derek calls later. At their designated time. “The flowers are beautiful.”
“So are you...” Derek says quietly. “That tie looks nice. Is it new?”
“I found it at a little consignment shop on my lunch hour a couple of days – wait..”
He looks up, and in the doorway to the unit Derek is standing with another smaller bouquet of flowers in his hands. Peach and white peonies, the color of a sigh, the gentle color of a spring sunset. He looks like a kid ready for his prom date. Hope is smeared across his features.
“Twenty-two days...” he says, handing Hotch the flowers. “I know I shouldn't be here, but I thought sneaking into your hotel room and surprising you there might get me shot.”
“You're not wrong.”
Hotch shouldn't leave, he knows he has too much to do but he hasn't had a day off in twenty-two days and one night isn't going to cause irreparable damage.
The next day, when he calls in sick because his headache has reached its crescendo and he'd much rather lie in the hotel room with Derek all day than go sit at that desk. They make good use of room service, barely leave the bed. The view from the room is picturesque, a full and un-obscured view of the Puget Sound from over the top of the concrete jungle. Not even a crane gets in their way.
They drink their coffee on the balcony, smelling the briny air before heading back to the bed. They make love enough times that Hotch loses count, showering and sleeping and eating briefly between. He loses count, but he also loses the headache somewhere along the way and he'll take both of those things gladly. Twenty-two days apart had created a hunger in them that neither had realized until they were here sharing the same air, the same timezone, and this time (unlike Pakistan) there were no hard feelings to work through. Just making up for lost time the best way they knew how, with hands and lips and a Do Not Disturb sign hanging from the doorknob.
“So...what the hell is a consignment shop anyway?” Derek asks, still thinking about what Hotch said about his new tie while popping a strawberry into his mouth. Hotch hums and hunts for something to watch on the TV. They'll barely pay attention to it anyway but the noise is nice. It drowns out the way that neither one of them seems to be able to keep their inevitable moans in check. And why should they have to? It's been three weeks since they've even been in a room together, so if they get a little carried away between the sheets who can really blame them?
It isn't just about sex, they take short cat naps in their love-warm sheets and they do talk a little, too. Just enough. But they've been talking so much lately, it's all they've been able to do, that it doesn't feel very important. While they sit and visit over meals and drinks, Derek leans against Hotch, keeps one hand anchored on his thigh or his shoulder or his back at all times. And Hotch makes no attempt to break away. Time will do that for them soon enough.
“It's a secondhand store. I found something for you, too.”
Derek wears his new cashmere sweater back at Quantico when he returns from his whirlwind surprise trip and everyone notices. It's the color of rich, deep purple-almost-black plums and the way it sits against his warm skin is breathtaking. Penelope can't stop touching him. Running her hands up and down his arms. It even smells good.
“It smells like Hotch,” he says when she comments on it later. She purses her lips and doesn't really know what to say to that. She's rarely speechless.
“He really knows you.” She'd looked up the tag, gasped and nearly died of sticker-shock, and then tried to remind herself he'd purchased the thing secondhand. Or, he claimed to have anyway. She wouldn't put it past him to tell Derek that just to ensure that he wore the damn thing.
“I would hope so, after all this time.”
“How much longer? We all miss him. It's not fair, those stinky Seattle people get him and we're stuck here without our boss-man.”
Derek smiles and glances at his phone, ready for it to ring. Hotch said he'd be the one to call tonight. “Soon.”
“That's what you said last time.”
“And it's what I'll keep saying until it's true. Now get outta here so I can talk to my man in peace.”

Ransom's Redemption (Chris Evans Fanfiction), Chapter 21: New York, New York (Ransom POV)
Tumblr media
Oh, yeah. JFK, and I could feel the heartbeat of the city.
I do miss this place. My god, when I think of all the parties I had here, went to there, it's a wonder I wasn't in jail sooner.
I call Mimi as I head for the pick up area.
"Hello?"
"Hey, babe, I'm here."
"Sounds like the airport."
"Yeah," I look around. "I wish you were here."
"Me, too." I see a driver holding a sign: RANSOM DRYSDALE. "Hey, my driver is here--"
"Driver?"
"Looks like it," I say, trying to hold in my excitement.
"Call me when you get to the hotel. I wanna see the room."
I laugh. "You got it."
"Love you."
"Love you more."
I hear her do a little gasp.
"Talk to you later."
"Okay," she giggles softly. "later."
I click off and head to the driver. Aw, yeah. I love New York. I t just makes my heart beat faster. "I'm Ransom." I nod to the driver.
"I'm Curtis," he nods and does a tip of his hat. He takes my carryon, and I wave off him carrying my backpack. "Alright, follow me, sir."
"Thanks."
"Did you have a good flight?"
"Yes, wasn't long." It was actually ninety minutes. Somehow, flying in made me feel as if I traveled far, far from some of the bad stuff in Boston-like my parole officer who isn't that bad, and Mr. Green whom I was happy to finish that part of my community service for. It had been a long three months. Then there were the guys at Clockwork, who I loved having a beer with.
Tumblr media
I was taken to a hotel in Manhattan, a nice one at that. It reeked with romance, and I realized that was what Paul meant by "one stop shopping." We were going to do some work around the hotel. Though I was happy to see that, I also didn't like it. My parole officer ordered that I be in a room instead of a rental, he didn't realize how much could happen at a hotel if you could keep quiet or grease a few palms for discretion. I did love having my own room. I almost thought I'd have a celly.
But I wish Mimi was here. It's nice to work in a place like this, but even nicer to bring her along. Even the room made me wish she was there, and I realized that I missed my chance:
I groaned as the alarm went off this morning.
"Hey, you." Mimi said softly.
"Hey, you," I echoed.
She scooted over to me and put her head on my chest. "It's much better today."
"Yeah, I noticed." I smile down at her.  "Nice to see you."
"Yeah," she said, snuggling closer. "Between Jojo and Dr. Renquist, I'm not as queasy anymore."
"That and knowing now that the smell of fish is a trigger."
"Yeah," she says sadly.
"Don't worry, you'll be back to eating salmon in no time, Mimi."
"I never thought a favorite would be off the list."
"And now all you want is burgers from that place down the street."
"Like some people I know," she teases. "I think it's the ketchup mayo thing I really like."
"Me too." The alarm sounds again, and I sigh, "Gotta get going."
"Awww--"
"Raincheck, babe," I tell her. "We can watch anime another day, okay?"
"Oh...okay."
I am an idiot! I realize what she was wearing:
Tumblr media
She usually wears one of my t-shirts and pajama pants!
Come to think of it, she's been wearing alot of really nice stuff lately...tempting me in the mornings...
I get to the hotel room and before I even begin to unpack, there is a knock at my door. I look through the peephole and laugh at Paul on the other side of the door. I open it, asking, "Damn, Paul, were we on the same plane?"
"I got here early to set things up for tomorrow," he laughs. "I mean, a long weekend sounds fun, right?"
"I plan on going home first chance I get," I tell him. "It's almost Christmas, man."
"We're a ninety minute flight away."
I look at him. I plan on being home on the 23rd. What is this guy talking about? The answer I come up with makes me feel bad for him. "Who are you spending Christmas with?"
"I dunno, changes year to year," he sighs. "I was thinking about going to see my sister."
"You two are like cat and dog!" I laugh.
"But we're all each other's got," he shrugs with a grimace. "Mom died, and Dad followed within months."
"I'm sorry, when--"
"Two years ago."
"Aw, I'm sorry, man." The idea of a pal spending Christmas alone sucked. I would get all kinds of presents from Mimi every month-tea and book. Art magazines came every month. Even then, the guards felt she loved me. I would get comic postcards or some that were of places from around the world that I actually left behind when I got out. Some kingpin of the block got jealous, thinking I had friends everywhere (which I did), but when I pointed out that they were all postmarked in Massachusetts, he let up.  I spent time binding them into joke books, some given in deals I had to make. My first Christmas in prison was the best. She sent me brushes, paints and paper (directly from the manufacturer) and I shared my art markers with other 'resident artists.' In fact, I left it all behind, and promised to send supplies to the library. I literally spend $200 a month to try to keep supplies up in there.
"You ready to go?"
I laugh at him. "I just got in, barely had a thought. I haven't shown Mimi--"
Then I'm just in time!" Paul cheers. "The lounge here is great, let's go down for a bit."
"Dinner and drinks," I say slowly. "I remember many wild nights that started that way."
"Aw, I can't help it if the Big Apple is always ready for another bite." He gives me a playlful slap on the shoulder. "We're on a pass--"
"Oh, we're military now?"
"Might as well be, with " the man" watching. C'mon, we should get going."
"The cuffs are lose, but--" I raise my ring hand. "This one isn't."
Paul raises an eyebrow at me. "Whatever."
"See ya in a bit, okay?"
"Alright, Ran."
That's what he used to call me when we used to go out partying. I pushed him out the door.  "In twenty."
The second he left, I called her:
As soon as I got rid of him, I called Mimi.
"Hey, babe," she greets with a little giggle. I smile at my reflection in the hotel mirror, looking at my bed, knowing that my ringer on her phone was I Wanna Do Bad Things With You.
"Hey, at the hotel."
"Nice?"
"Yeah," I sigh as I plop down on the bed, kick off my shoes and put my feet up. "It'd be alot more fun if you were here."
"I miss you, too." She is quiet for a moment. "Where's Paul?"
"Paul is someplace being Paul."
"'Photographer getting my money Paul' or 'I want my running buddy back Paul?'"
"Doesn't matter," I recline back on the pillow. "He's not wearing a ring."
"Good answer!" she giggles. "So, what're you up to, tonight?"
"Tonight is just dinner and drinks," I sigh. "Wish you were here for dessert, babe."
Her little sharp intake of breath makes me smile. "Oh, I wish I was, too."
"But then I wouldn't be as motivated to get work done and get home," I look around. "Wanna see the room? I'd love to bring you here."
"Let me see."
Tumblr media
"Nice!"
"Restful, romantic," I correct. "But I bet it's a damn good view in the morning."
"Yeah."
I note the sadness in her voice as I set my travel clothes aside. "What?"
"Nothing."
"What, babe?" I start
"In the past, I seem to remember you being quite the party animal there."
"Say it again."
"In the past--"
"Stop right there," I say quickly. "Let's leave it there."
She laughs softly. "I love you."
"I love you, too, baby," I say softly, responding to the lilt in her voice.
Suddenly there is a knock on the door. "Ah, hold on." I look to see Paul again, and let him in.
"Aw, you're not dressed?" he asks.
"We're just going downstairs."
"But--" he notices my earbud in my ear. "Is that--"
"Yes, Paul."
"Oh, hey--"
"Flip him off for me," Mimi says with a smile I can hear.
I laugh out loud and do it.
"Rude," Paul sticks out his tongue.
"Just playin' around man--"
"Not really."  Mimi laughs. "Have fun."
"Thanks, baby. I'll call you when I get back in." After we click off, I tell Paul, "You've got to do better with her."
"Yeah, yeah," he rolls his eyes. "C'mon man, let's go!"

Ayyyyy! I had a thought about your Changeling AU while I was driving home ✌
So I was trying to remember if you had mentioned what you planned for TUE, when my own brain started finding a way for it to fit. So this is what I came up with (your fanfic has fantheories). I hope that is okay.
Danny is very stressed, as he is. So many issues with the fae that he has had to solve, his grades are slipping, his parents are on his ass, he misses his uncle, and the CATS are approaching. So much stress. When Lancer says that he has the answers on him at all times, Danny starts thinking back to all those gifts his Uncle gave him and if one of them might help him...get the answers.
Jack and Maddie have as many of his gifts locked away, obviously. They don't quite know how to get rid of them. So they just make sure the kids can't find them. But if Danny can find fairy roads, he can find the box his parents hid in the Fenton Dungoen. So he does, and starts going through the different gifts. He doesn't really remember what most of them do. It's not like his parents let him have them for very long. But maybe he gets very vague feelings from them? Who can say?
Anyways, he finds a hand mirror. Now, what it was supposed to do was show Danny his life if he were raised by a different caregiver. Whatever caregiver was most likely. Considering Clockwork's claim on him, it was supposed to show possibilities of Danny if he were raised by Clockwork. But Clockwork is strangely banished and it makes the mirror's intent all murky there. And it was also supposed to be used by a (mostly) human Danny, which he really isn't anymore.
Anyway, the mirror swaps Danny with alternate raised by Vlad Danny. The mirror world isn't real. It's not a real timeline. Mirror Danny isn't really an alternate Danny. More like a Tulpa or something.
However, stuck in a mirror was not covered by whatever Maddie and Jack did to Clockwork. So Clockwork is actually able to get to him and help him get back. And also admonish him about cheating (sort of. You gotta be more legalistic about it, Daniel. Not just steal it.) And real Danny is able to escape and stop whatever nonsense Mirror Danny was doing. However, he has to break the mirror which causes his parents to forget about the nonsense. And also means that Clockwork can't connect through that mirror again.
He ends up making a bargain with Lancer to allow him to take the test at a different time. Maybe he works out a trade for something that Lancer desperately wants. Something Lancer didn't even realize he wanted.
Anyways, hope you have a good day. Just wanted to share my thoughts! 💚💚💚
I'm sorry for taking so long to respond to this, because it really is amazing. 💚💚💚
I really like how you tie the events here together to run parallel to canon. It's much closer than my current idea about it, certainly.
Danny would be feeling awful about everything, and would start looking for esoteric solutions to his problems. Whether or not he would realize that gifts from his nice, human uncle might give him that... Well, I'd lean to probably not. But who knows?
I really like mirror Danny, though. He sounds fun. A sort of changeling himself who would definitely cause problems- And Danny in the fake mirror world is also a fun concept. I might yoink it for another episode, if that's alright.
Plus Clockwork's advice... C'mon my man. At least help him cheat.
My current plan for TUE is a bit less detailed, and definitely subject to change. It's a long way off, after all! I'm putting it below a readmore for spoilers. 💚
Danny is walking Between the mortal plane and Faerie. He's stressed out. Trying to escape the fact that his future as an adult might not even exist, never mind the results of his test. He knows that sometimes he can find a path to a solution to his problems when he's walking here. Like instinct. There might be some other things going on, I'll know more when I get there.
But while walking, he sees someone he recognizes on the path ahead of him. Just a glimpse, but it's more than enough to set him running, chasing, after what might be his uncle.
Unfortunately, this is Clockwork on one of his strolls through time. Danny follows him the best he's able, but that just means that when Danny loses sight of him, he manages to get even more lost in time. In a rather terrible version of the future, in fact.
He gets attacked by unfamiliar fae and goblins who insist that he's a monster, sees horrible things, including what happened to him, and finally gets the picture that he's in the future... and considering what happens to people who do this in fairy tales, he is very careful not to step off the faerie path.
Danny starts looking for people he knows, trying to piece together what, exactly, has happened and why. He eventually finds Vlad and maybe a couple of allies. They tell him that there's only one fae who could reliably use the paths to walk backwards through time, but he isn't likely to help.
As you might guess, that fae is Clockwork.

Danganronpa: Despair Time
(ダンガンロンパ:絶望のタイム)
=======================
First of, I just want to say that this is a fanganronpa that I recently found thanks to Moboxer, the head of what is known as Danganronpa: Kill/Cure. I want to do an analysis of that one soon, but this one I figured would be a good start. So, like the series we've come to know and love, Danganronpa: Despair Time is a series where a group of high school students are trapped in a building and must commit a murder to get out of their situation. With the prologue being released just now, we can get a feel for the characters, and maybe some of my predictions will be right? Who knows. Without further ado, let's get into it.
Tumblr media
We will start with the main female lead, Teruko Tawaki, the Ultimate Lucky Student. She's seemingly plain, but not Tsumugi Shirogane plain. I really like the hair color she has going on, and I can't accurately tell what color it is, due to me being colorblind, but I believe it's brown going into gray ends. What also sets her apart from previous Danganronpas is that most of the leads are male. Ones like Danganronpa: the After and Danganronpa REbirth both have female leads which I find very refreshing and would like to see the killing game from a female perspective. The thing that also seemed to stick out to me was how she says she was cursed with bad luck, much like Makoto Naegi feels he was in the first game. It also gives me a sense of sadness, much like Qrow Branwen of the RWBY series and his semblance of always bring bad luck to those around him. As of right now, I can't say too much else about her, but as the main character, I feel she would be a survivor. She'll make it to the end and stop the televised killing game (more on this for another character.)

Alexander Matthews, or Xander, is the Ultimate Rebel. He definitely gives of a Kaito Momota vibe from how he confronts those that insult him, but he also has a very friendly demeanor. So because of this, I am giving him the title of Best Boy, because we all need a Best Boy and a Best Girl. According to the series, his talent isn't so much as being a troublemaker, but moreso taking a stand against what he doesn't like and wants to improve for the better. Honestly, maybe Revolutionist or Protestor would have been a better title? Maybe, but Rebel also has a nice flair to it, so we'll go with what the creator intended. His red hair also gives him a fiery feel, which is what I've come to expect from the Best Boys of the games and fangans. The sad part is, I see him dying in the fifth chapter as a culprit. Probably something he didn't even mean to do or something he didn't want to do, a heartbreaking chapter. But the series isn't fully out to the public yet, so we can't say for certain.
Tumblr media
Eden Tobisa, the Ultimate Clockmaker. She's adorable, soft, and I just wanna protect this innocent cinnamon bun. That being said, I don't think she is the one that would get the Best Girl status. A lot of her sprites are pretty cutesy, much like a cat, which seems to be a running theme within this fangan. Or I may just dig a little too deep and find stuff that really isn't there. She gives me a big Chihiro Fujisaki vibe, and would love to see this character being explored more. However, it kind of breaks my heart to say she's probably not going to make it, and I believe she would be the Chapter 1 victim. Like I said, she's small and soft, and makes for an easy victim, but I would definitely love seeing an execution if she ends up being the culprit in a case. Probably something sad and gruesome like her being crushed between a few clockwork gears.
Tumblr media
So I wanna say this right off the bat, and I'm sure anyone that saw this girl's talent was like, "What the actual hell is a Zither?!" Thank goodness they tell us what it is and I appreciate learning new things. That being said, this is Hu Jing, the Ultimate Zither Player. Her demeanor gives me a slight Kirumi Tojo vibe, especially given the sprite that I took of her. The way she speaks is amazing and I want to see more. I am probably being way too premature about this, but I have wholeheartedly given her the additional title of Best Girl. She may not have a lot to bring to the table as a Zither player but playing instruments takes dedication and I can speak from experience. Not all instruments are easy to play so learning exotic instruments is that much harder. I also say that she's going to be a survivor as well, making it to the end of the killing game but if not, she'll more than likely be a victim.
Tumblr media
Here we have J Moreno, the Ultimate Effects Artist, a talent I can also really appreciate. According to the series, J is a nickname but she gets flustered and doesn't exactly say what that nickname is, which may actually come up later during a trial or some form of Free-Time Event. She also seems to prefer quiet people, as opposed to those who seem flashy or boisterous, like the actors she deals with behind the scenes. I use to be a theatre kid (bring on the TikToks) and whenever I could, I would also attempt to learn tech stuff, namely moving set pieces and the sort, so I have a slight personal connection with this talent. She may have a bit of a standoffish attitude but deep down, I feel she has a heart of gold and would definitely help her friends in a time of need. This sort of demeanor would probably give her more of a Kiyotaka Ishimaru vibe, but not in a "Running in the halls is not welcome in a school environment" kinda feel. More towards the personality. However that assistance may go too far and I feel she is more likely to be a culprit in Chapter 2 of the series. Makes me wonder how the execution of an effects artist will go. We'll see if I'm right.
Tumblr media
Oh Jesus. This name is gonna be the death of me, but meet Veronika Grebenshchikova, the Ultimate Horror Fanatic. As you can probably tell from the screenshot, she loves everything horror, and I really like the hair ties she has on with the eyes. It makes her stand out, and I feel makes it tie her whole outfit together. The outfit also seems to be giving me Celestia Ludenberg vibes, but at least people aren't asking if she's Japanese. When I first saw her, I thought she would be some form of Optometrist or something but I'm glad she's a horror fanatic. I, too, also happen to like horror pop culture, and I thought it was kind of funny, and slightly suspicious, that she mentioned that they would be trapped in the building and be forced to kill each other. Because of that, it makes me think she knows more than she's letting on, so a possible traitor/mastermind thing going on with her? If not, she's still probably not going to make it and I've labeled her as one of the victims in Chapter 3. But a horror fanatic's execution would definitely be something I'd be interested in, like Emma Magorobi from Super Danganronpa Another 2.
Tumblr media
The Ultimate Inspirational Speaker, David Chiem. I'm unsure of how to pronounce his last name, either Hhheee-em or Chai-em. Either way, I feel kind of let down that a speaker that Xander looks up to really hates his talent, or moreso the people that actually listen to him, revealing he's kinda two-faced, being able to talk shit about those that come to his speeches and then nice to their face. It might have been something that developed while doing it, like he was amazing and loved it at first but then later down the road, he started hating it and wanting it to stop. I don't think the two-faced bit will be as extreme as Kokichi Oma or Nagito Komaeda (his facade at the beginning of Super Danganronpa 2 to the end of Chapter 1) but it may come into play during the trials, maybe during his own? Or if he's being framed for a murder? Despite that, I've marked him as a survivor who let's this killing game change him back to OG David where he loved giving speeches and uses the killing game for a new lease on life.
Tumblr media
Arturo Giles, the Ultimate Plastic Surgeon. I don't like him. He's a bit of a snob, and to those that he seems ugly aren't worth his time apparently. Which seems odd, given his talent. I mean, he's a plastic surgeon, so of course there will be people looking to fix a few things they don't like about themselves (I'm talking like Nip/Tuck here, people.) He has this utter fetish for celebrities and their beauty however I was watching a thing way back when, I dunno what it was, but it says the ones that have the most plain faces and such tend to be more beautiful to humans. Or something along those lines, but I'm thinking his mask is hiding something he doesn't like about himself. It makes me kinda sad because precious girl, Seiko Kimura, wore a mask and she was so upfront about everything, so maybe there is a hidden redemption arc just waiting to come out. Watch it be something like ugly teeth or some scar he doesn't want people seeing. Enough about this guy though, as I have labeled him a victim, specifically Chapter 5. Remember how I mentioned that Xander would probably end up being a culprit? Well, I think it'll end up being something that he didn't mean to or want to do, despite not really getting along with Arturo. But if he isn't a victim, he might be a survivor.
Tumblr media
Daddy. Haha, I'm kidding, this is Levi Fontana, the Ultimate Personal Stylist. He gives off the "intimidating but innocent cinnamon bun" vibe that Gonta Gokuhara gives off, and even mentions his past during the introduction. Something I wish to see come into play during a trial. Now, a theme I seem to run across is the big person, who is amazing usually dies in Chapter 4, and I hate to say this might also be the case. His past may not have something to do with the trial, but if it does, he would be a culprit. I hope not though because I would love to see the intimidating guy live to the end.
Tumblr media
Okay, this guy is also an asshole, and I wanna say it's probably because he's short. Kinda like Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu. Ace Markey, the Ultimate Jockey. Despite how he's short like Fuyuhiko, he isn't as willing to go to that point, as he's kind of a wimp. This kind of demeanor makes him less likely to have friends, but I'm interested to see how he got to this point. Probably some form of bullying while he's on his horse, to be honest. Like maybe having issues getting on and the other jockeys laughing at him, but maybe his coach, or mentor giving him this disapproving face when he tries to start something. That's how I see it anyway, but he is probably the Chapter 1 culprit. His execution might be something along the lines of being tied to a fence where horses have to jump over him and he gets hit in the head with horse feet and horseshoes. Then as the fence falls over, he gets trampled on, leaving a bloody mess. I wouldn't be too sad about this character but we'll see as time goes on.
===============================
I would love to continue on but apparently there's a 10 photo per post limit. I will be posting the second part shortly.

A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess REVIEW
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5/5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
You're not supposed to love the characters in this story. Nobody is doing the right thing, even when they believe that they are. One of the obvious examples of this is Alex's character where many times throughout the books he believes he has done no wrong, that he is smarter and better than everyone else and nobody should treat him wrongly. The doctors that give Alex the aversion therapy, the police, even the writer and his friends are all bad characters. What we get from this story is the philosophy of good and bad, the choice of free will and how that makes us human, and a glimpse of the abuse of psychological therapy of that time.
I say this book is good. I rated it 5 stars, after all. However, I found myself thinking about this book after reading for the past few days. Things stuck with me. Alex is not a good character, he's a villain and he always will be in the end after having been "cured" but reverting back to his criminal ideologies. He never learned anything. The language Nadsat would linger in my mind, how the words came almost second nature to me, though of course I do study other languages for fun so maybe the constant usage was why it stuck. And of course thinking back to the history of aversion therapy and conversion therapy and how it was all so similar to what Alex went through.
Here are my notes during reading. WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW
