Carmilla's head shook, unsure what Sadie was suggesting. "Um," There's a bark of what sounded like confused, nervous laughter. "I don't...know why you would say that...?"

Hair is tucked behind her ear, still looking all the world like she's done nothing wrong— or worse, that she can't even understand what she's done wrong. "I don't understand why you would even ask me that...I didn't— visit you last night? Why would you think I was here?"

Because she's been prowling at the edge of her bed. It's hard to see a black cat against the pitch dark of a bedroom at night, but you didn't need to see it. You could feel it stalking, pacing, waiting for something to happen. "Did something happen? Whatever it is, I'll help you. We can get you new locks," She's passed through locked doors before. "Look, you have nothing to fear from me...I promise."

Sam stares momentarily, his face crossed between off-guard and processing. He makes a breathy sound. “You're not-?” He clears his throat. She doesn't take it back. “Seriously?” 

He hadn't anticipated an entire breakdown. He'd thought, naively, that she'd say great because that's what everyone else says, or, at worst, fix your hair. Instead, she tossed comparisons to a car salesman. She said he's not her type.

“...Don't go pulling your punches,” he whinges, turning back around to the mirror. Type. He gestures uselessly, like she thought he'd ask her out. Take her to dinner. He straightens an already straight tie. “And for the record, I'm 'to die for',” he quotes.

He looks at himself harder, Sadie's reflection smaller behind him.

He doesn't see it, and his cheek pinches.

“Is it the tie?”

"yeah, when i was twelve!" she flicks half-heartedly at sadie, but can't suppress her laughter. in hindsight, it was ridiculous. "look, i was a deeply weird kid, okay, i didn't have any friends, and, well—" she grins like she's joking, but she's not. "i'd already read the dictionary, so when i told my dad i was bored, he said go read the bible. and then i said but i don't have a bible. so he took me to the library."

percy tucks her phone to her shoulder as she uncorks a bottle of red, smiling coyly even though sadie can't see her. "what, touch myself when you weren't there to hear me?" she pours herself a glass and sets the bottle aside, returning to her hotel bed with drink in hand. "of course not. but, um..." a sip of the dry red, a delighted little hum at notes of oak and vanilla, and percy settles back against down pillows. "i'm free now if you are, sweetheart. not that i mind putting on a show for you..." she shrugs out of her bathrobe and takes another sip before setting her glass on the bedside table. her now-free hand runs across her chest, fingertips brushing over her nipples (already hardening from exposure to the air). she sighs, leaning back and wishing sadie could see her—she's sure she makes quite the picture right now. "it's just so much more fun with two, you know?"

she continues to play with her chest, alternating between caressing and pinching, her breath growing heavier as an ache builds between her legs. "thought about you all day, sadie. i was so wet—i still am." she bites down on her lip, cocking her head. "should i touch myself for you now?"

Sadie has been stressed–– of course she has been. Between her intense work schedule and the endless interviews and the fact that she needs around-the-clock protection, Eliot would be far more concerned if she wasn't stressed. There had only been so much he could do, in the beginning–– he'd tried to reassure her, to prove to her that she was safe with him. Now, there are other ways he can soothe her racing mind.

Eliot has her laid out on her bed, is determined to kiss her senseless. "Let me take care of you," he'd murmured to her, "let me take care of you." And she had.

Sadie is only halfway undressed, Eliot is so desperate to touch her. He's got himself propped up by her side, lips capturing hers over and over, like if he stops he'll lose her for good.
