@colon-three--semicolon-three submitted: Salutations! I hope you're enjoying your day. I like to take pictures of things that interest me when I travel, and found some bugs while strolling and would like to ask if you could ID them? Taken in Indonesia during the rainy season. (took the picture when it was only light drizzle)

Sorry they aren't the clearest pictures.
Love the blog btw, I love seeing the variety of bugs, such creatures that are oft overlooked in our daily lives! 🪲💕
Thank you! These are lovely friends. The first is a blue pansy butterfly, Junonia orithya. The bug party is a bunch of horehound bugs, Agonoscelis rutila. And the final fella is a sphinx moth, most likely in the genus Eupanacra.

Eupanacra busiris, an Asian hawk moth species. I guess it’s trying to look like a bit of bamboo?

@janeloveday submtited: In south east queensland where it has been very wet. The amazing friend with smooch lips was in a kaffir lime, but did not eat much.
However the 8cm monster and friends demolished a very large spathiphyllum overnight. Right down to the dirt! Greedy!
My goodness! A great bunch of children. That last sphinx caterpillar is very long and very straight lol. Love them, 10/10 shape. Probably the sphinx moth, Eupanacra splendens. Smooch lips in the first few photos looks like an orchard swallowtail, which feed on citrus leaves, and the pupa looks like a swallowtail pupa, so they may be the same species.

Hi there! This is quite the cool-looking dude! Or dudes? Either way, love their false eyes, look just like a snake! It is indeed a hawkmoth aka a sphinx moth. Specifically it looks like Eupanacra variegata which as far as I know doesn’t have a common name in English. Adults look like this:
