grocery shopping ❀˖° olderhusband!levi x reader

it was a warm summer day outside as you and your olderhusband!levi entered the super market.
levi loved planning, which was the main reason why you had a specific day every week when you’d go grocery shopping. it was sunday, since it felt natural to plan the next week’s meals, snacks and other stuff you needed. levi was usually the one who made the list, carefully writing every single thing down on a piece of paper. you often tried to suggest that you could just easily write them in the note app of your phone, but quite frankly, he didn’t trust mobile devices.
the piece of paper in your hand had a long list of items in it as he grabbed a cart. the air in the huge market felt cold on your bare legs, especially now since the air outside was humid.
levi was wearing a beige linen t-shirt with a pair of linen shorts while he pushed the cart around, sneaking peeks onto the list in your hands.
”okay, uh, first- onions, tomato… pomegranate? why?” you furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, surprised by the unexpected fruit.
”thought i’d make pomegranate salad for lunch tomorrow. the mix of sweet pomegranate seeds and salty feta is quite delicious” he commented. you chuckled as you began to load the cart with the listed items.
”right. cutting pomegranate is messy though, isn’t it? you sure you can handle it?” you teased with a knowing smirk. levi simply huffed.
”tch. i’ll make you cut it if you keep messing with me” he warned playfully, even though you knew it was a meaningless threat. levi loved to cook, especially for you.
you strolled through the aisles, picking what ever items you needed from cleaning supplies to chicken breast. the market was pretty much filled with people, especially parents with whiny babies, everyone was probably doing their weekly grocery shopping as well. you had picked the most awful time for your visit, since it was obviously the rush hour.
you looked down at the paper again, noticing the note ’food for petra’ next on the list. to your surprise, there was a mindless doodle of a cat’s face drawn next to it, as well. your husband was just adorable.
levi looked over at the cat food aisle’s options, a thoughtful hand rubbing his shaved chin. he reached for the top shelf on his tiptoes and grabbed a can of food.
he squinted his eyes to read the text. ”extra meaty” he said. ”should we take this? she loves meat and fish”
you grabbed the can and inspected the ingredients with a careful eye, before you shook your head.
”no, it doesn’t have enough veggies in it. pick something with more fiber”
levi picked another can, which had the text ’high fiber’ on the side. it was a better option, since it had both good protein and fiber sources in it. he placed a few more cans in the cart before you moved on.
as you walked by the small beauty section of the market, you couldn’t help but glance at levi. to your surprise, he was already looking at you with a side eye, clearly knowing that you’d want to stop by to look over what ever makeup or beauty products there was.
”we can walk through it, if you want”
you snickered, amused by the fact the man could read you so easily. you also respected the fact levi had patience with you and your interests. you often liked to check the newest make up brands or clothes or even plushies if you felt like it, but didn’t necessarily mean you’d be buying anything. even if levi was a man who enjoyed a schedule, a clear and specific way to do things, he didn’t mind standing by you as you curiously tried different shades of lip liners on the back of your hand.
”hmm, i don’t know, this feels like it’ll disappear in a second” you sighed as you brushed off a certain color from your hand, noticing how easily it dusted off. levi stood next to you arms crossed, his eyes looking at your hand as well.
”well, get the more expensive one. it’s the same shade, after all” he suggested, pointing at the other line next to the faded one, where you had tried the more expensive product. you turned your head to him, a surprised look on your face.
”it’s too expensive, levi. i’m not sure if i want it that bad” you argued back, even though you internally longed for that specific shade.
”tch. i’ll buy it, doll. it would suit you” he grumbled and took a fresh package, throwing it into the cart without question.
”levi!” you gasped. ”you don’t have to”
”no, i don’t. but i want to” he said with his usual stoicism, yet there was a genuinely soft look in his eyes as he looked over your face.
you sighed in defeat but smiled, knowing he was speaking the truth. levi would never do things he genuinely didn’t want to do – even for you. that was what made your relationship so healthy. you both had boundaries and you both respected them.
”thank you, levi”
you walked through the last aisle, which mostly contained freezers. you loaded the cart with a few packages of frozen vegetables, falael and some ice cream. you also bought frozen, ready-to-grill patties, because you were planning to host another grill night next weekend. erwin and hange would be coming and they'd also meet petra for the first time, so it was an occasion you were eagerly waiting for.
at the cash, you both unloaded the cart while the cashier grumpily beeped them and began to pack your items. levi grabbed his wallet from the pocket of his shorts, and for a moment you were distracted by his unnecessarily perfect nose and side profile. his forearm flexed a little as he grabbed his credit card, the beige linen fabric neatly straightened for this shopping trip. levi looked so youthful for someone his age, even though he definitely had the wisdom and respect of an older man.
after you left the market, you had one more thing unmarked on the list – tea. you’d have to make a stop at levi’s favorite tea shop.
more olderhusband!levi here .ᐟ

Jealousy Jealousy
Levi Ackerman x Reader
Based on the song "Jealousy Jealousy" by Olivia Rodrigo.
PART 2 : Scars
PART 3 : I chose you
Warnings: insecurities, angst, sad, small fluff, reader loses her friend because of a new girl named Natasha (sorry if that's your name), unrequited love, mention of death and sacrificing yourself for Humanity's sake. Sad angsty ending but I'll do a part 2 if you want.
Reader insert, no reference to reader's body so it can be seen as female, gender neutral and male reader
"All your friends are so cool, you go out every night In your daddy's nice car, yeah, you're living the life Got a pretty face, a pretty boyfriend too I wanna be you so bad, and I don't even know you"
“Y/n?”
“Earth to Y/n?”
“Y/NNNN!” Hange yelled, pulling you out of your daydream.
“Sh!t sorry. I zoned out, again.” You explained yourself, trying to look anywhere but in your friend’s eyes.
“It’s what you’ve been doing this whole week. Just ask him out already!” She whisper-yelled.
“I don’t know who you’re talking about.” You replied stubbornly.
“C’mon Y/n, you’ve liked him since you first met him! If you don’t tell him how you feel now, you may never get the chance to!” Petra added.
“Thanks a lot you guys…” You said, slumping back in your seat lazily. How were you supposed to tell him, your Captain, Humanity’s Strongest Soldier, The Levi Ackerman, you were in love with him and had been for years now. You’d probably just make it weird and ruin your friendship with him, because no way in hell did he reciprocate your feelings.
“You know what? If you’re not going to tell him, I will!” Hange said resolute and determined to end your suffering. She had been your best friend since you’d graduated from being simple Cadets and knew better than anyone how much you were actually worth though also how much you thought lowly of yourself because of your insecurities and negative thoughts.
“WHAT?! NO!” You didn’t notice you’d raised your voice until you realized everyone was staring at you.
Your face became beet red as you waved it off with a small “Don’t worry, everything’s fine. We’re all fine.” Successfully getting everyone to go back to what they were previously doing.
“I wasn’t lying before, I’ll tell him if you don’t.” She went back to whispering, drawing your attention back to the stressful topic.
“Okay, okay fine. I’ll tell him! I just, need to get us a moment together, the perfect moment. I’ll think about it tomorrow, when I go to my parents’ house.”
Your friends, including Mike, Oluo, Eld and Gunther, high-fived each other victoriously, but were quick to act nonchalant as soon as they saw their Captain approaching you.
“What’s happening? I heard some commotion coming from here just minutes ago.” He asked, eyeing you all with his usual scowl.
Suddenly, your shoes became a very interesting view as Hange quickly answered: “Don’t worry Captain. Nothing happened! Y/n here was just…telling us about a few hand-to-hand combat techniques and discussing them with the team.”
He glanced at your petrified form questioningly, but swiftly came to the decision it was not an important matter.
“Anyways, I wanted to tell you, tomorrow a new member will be joining the Levi Squad, I want you all to welcome her but most importantly make sure to get along with her.” He continued.
You and the rest of the team stared at each other with a shocked expression on your face, though Petra was the first to speak up: “You referred to the new member with a her, so I suppose she’s a girl. Who is she?”
“Yeah, and when will we meet her?” Eld chimed in.
“Her name is Natasha and you’ll all meet her tomorrow morning at training, the rest, you can ask her for yourself.” He answered before retreating back to his office to finish writing the last papers before going to bed.
“Well, that’s new…” Eld said.
“Who even is she? I mean, she must be great with her skills and everything if Levi accepted her in our team.” Oluo said.
“I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. You don’t know anything about this, do you Hange?” Gunther sighed, running a hand through his neatly combed hair.
“I’m just as surprised as you are. How about you Mike?” The scientist returned the question to the silent blonde.
“Don’t look at me! I know about this just as much as you do.” He raised his hands in the air defensively.
“So she’s suddenly joining the team, nobody knows about her and Levi promptly refuses to tell us anything. She sure was able to become the center of attention before even coming.” Erd said.
“Hey Y/n, you okay?” Hange questioned you.
You had zoned out again…This Natasha girl sounded quite mysterious, but most of all, you weren’t accustomed to Levi’s eyes subtly lighting up when he talked about someone.
“Yeah, yeah don’t worry. I’m just tired, that’s all. In fact, I think I’mma head to bed, anybody coming with?” You got up from your seat lazily.
“Nah. I still have a few hours left to enjoy in me. See you in two days, right?” Gunther replied for everyone.
“Yeah.” You walked alone to your bedroom as unanswered questions swirled through your mind, mostly regarding Natasha and Levi. You pushed them down though, because they surely weren’t gonna ruin your free day with your parents.
The next day you woke up early and headed to town, where your parents owned a bakery. Your family’s apartment was right over it and you could still recall how much you used to help your parents when they were at work, sometimes getting scolded for not wanting to go to bed. You didn’t spend as much time there now, but Levi usually left you a few free days per month to visit your parents, and you sometimes also brought the rest of your team with you to have a hearty meal by the fireplace.
As always, your parents were marveled to see you and the day flew by too quickly. In the blink o an eye, you were back at the Scout’s, going to bed earlier than usual because of the tiredness caused by all the riding.
The next day, you were woken up by a ray of sunshine seeping through your window and illuminating the room.
You saw your companion Petra soundly sleeping on the bed on the other side of the room, so you dressed yourself without making any noise and walked your way to the stables.
“Hello Grass Goblin!” You saluted your hooved friend smirking happily. Her real name was Lily, in honor of the beautiful flowers you put in her hair when you braided it, but you’d had her for so much time you had become besties to the point the nickname rolled off your tongue more naturally than her real name.
You brought your horse out for a ride, fed her and combed her hair into a beautiful braid with a few flowers tucked in between.
Before you’d realized, it wast time for you to go to training, which meant you’d finally get to meet this mysterious Natasha.
You were sure you had arrived on time, nonetheless, the moment you stepped into the training area you found your team, Levi and an unfamiliar blondie chatting loudly and carelessly, as if they had been friends since forever.
To say this whole situation weirded you out was an understatement: your teammates had taken days or even months to warm up to you, and if Levi talked to you now it was only thanks to the years of hard work and missions done for and with him. Nonetheless, they had become best friends with this new chick in what, a day and a half? From where you stood, you could also see Levi smiling. Okay, what? Like, you didn’t even think the word “smile” existed in his vocabulary and suddenly he was there, grinning ear to ear in the face of this new kid?!
You approached the laughing group in a matter of minutes with a weird: “Hey guys!”
The moment they saw you, they all shut up and stopped laughing, turning to look at their shoes or share strange looks with each other.
You shrugged it off: focusing on this situation wouldn’t bring you any good and you still had to figure out a way to talk to Levi about your feelings.
Levi spoke up: “So, for today’s training we’ll divide the team into pairs and do some exercises in the woods. Form the pairs and go grab your horses, we’ll meet there in 10. Oh, and Gunther, you’re coming with me.”
Gunther visibly slumped, shoulders dropping as he prepared himself mentally for hours of scoldings and glares from his Captain.
As soon as Levi was out of range, you hit Gunther lightly in the shoulder, telling him ironically: “C’mon man, wasn’t it your dream to work with the Levi Ackerman?”
“Yeah, until I actually started working with him! He scolds me so much I wouldn’t be surprised if he got angry with me because of my favorite color.”
“What’s your favorite color?” You asked him, heading to the stables once again.
“Blue, yours?”
“Don’t really have one. I like all bright colors equally, though it depends on the day.”
“You know what? I ain’t even gonna ask you questions. Learned my lesson over the years.” He laughed, departing to go get his horse.
Oluo and Erd had formed a pair, and you saw Petra chatting with Anastasia on the other side of the stables, so you went to ask her: “Hi Anastasia! Hi Petra! Would you like to be in pair with me for the exercises?”
“Sorry Y/n, I’m already with Anastasia and we can’t be in three…” She tried to explain herself.
“Because…?” What was up with her? Levi always let you form groups of three with another teammate whenever someone was missing.
“Because we can’t, okay? Stop asking dumb questions!” She basically hissed at you, annoyed.
Okay, what was happening? You’re away for what, a night and a couple of hours and they all hate you out of the blue? You watched as the two girls got on their horses, giggling like two teenage girls and rode off, not even bothering to wait for you.
A wave of sadness washed over you, and you could feel tears welling up in your eyes, yet you took all your strong will and pushed them back, not wanting to show the vulnerable side of you for idiotic situations like this. You had always been very emotional, and nobody before your team and Hange had ever gone out of their way to help you or talk to you. When you’d joined the Cadets you were pretty much of a loner, but Hange had managed to get you out of your shell and you’d learned how to make friends, eventually leading to you befriending the infamous ‘Levi Squad’.
However, you were probably overthinking it all, as usual. Your friends wouldn’t possibly leave you just like this, with no warning or reason whatsoever, right?
You headed to the woods’ entrance, were the rest of your team was awaiting you.
“So, are all the pairs formed?” Levi asked.
“Yeah” Everybody answered, except for you, though he didn’t notice it and went off to explain the exercises to everyone.
The training had been agonizingly long and painful and, as soon as sundown approached, you were all eager to get off your horses, eat something and skedaddle to bed as quickly as possible.
“Hey guys, how about we all have dinner together?” You suggested.
“Sorry Y/n, but me and Natasha wanted to eat together and then chat for a bit.” Petra apologized.
“No can do, me and the boys are going in town. Sorry.” Erd answered.
“Oh…Okay. That’s fine, it’s absolutely fine. I-I mean, it’s not like we don’t already see each other every day right?” You said awkwardly.
Petra offered you an apologetic smile and then went off with her new friend, the boys getting their horses to the stables.
You didn’t exactly know what you would do that night, but perhaps you could wait for Hange to finish her shift at the Lab and have dinner with her.
After hours spent wandering around the huge building, it was finally the time of the end of her shift, so you ran to her study eager to tell her about your day and hear about hers, as you did almost every night.
“Hangeeeee!!!” You exclaimed, barging into her room with a big smile plastered on your face, excitement etched all over your features.
“Hey Y/n!” She responded. There was something off about the way she was acting, and you’d noticed how she was way less happy to see you than usual, so you decided to investigate: “What’s up with you today?”
“Listen Y/n, I’m truly sorry. I know you’ve been waiting for me to finish this job for hours so we could eat together, but I already had something planned tonight and I really don’t want to miss it. You wouldn’t mind if we skipped today’s daily catch up, right?” She pleaded.
You were taken aback, what has happening? You’re absent for a day and suddenly nobody can eat or spend time with you?
“So…?” She asked again, seeing as you’d zoned out.
“Y-yeah yeah, ’s fine don’t worry.” You gave her a tight lipped smile, shutting the door behind you and going outside on a walk to clear your mind.
The next few days were spent like this, everyone seemingly avoiding your presence. Hange had started having more and more plans at dinner so you never actually got to talk, and the rest of your team were just ignoring you, making up fake excuses in order to not spend time with you. However, you’d noticed how they always regrouped with Natasha. One day, you decided you wanted to get to know this new girl, and with only good intentions in your heart, you approached her while she chatted with Petra and Hange. What you didn’t expect, however, was the side eye she gave you, chuckling under her breath and asking: “Who’re you?”
“I’m Y/n, one of your teammates.” You answered.
“Really? Didn’t think Levi would ever choose a comrade so ugly and annoying.” She continued, though facing your two ex-friends now: “C’mon girls. Have you ever seen her actually do anything? She spends all the training just drooling at our Captain.”
You looked at her in utter confusion, turning to your friends as Hange grabbed your wrist and dragged you away from the pathetic blondie.
“Who the fuck does she think she is?” You hissed.
“Hey Y/n, calm down, you’re overreacting. I swear she’s nice, you just need to get used to her.”
“So what, you’re like defending her now?” You scoffed, not wanting to believe your best friend of a lifetime was turning against you.
“Why? Can’t I? She’s my friend.” Hange replied.
“You’re my friend too!” You spat back.
She didn’t say anything, so you took that as your cue to leave.
You locked yourself in your room and didn’t get out for hours, crying and sobbing because it suddenly felt like you were unwanted and unloved, just like the first time you’d come here.
You needed some fresh air, so you decided to head out for a ride with Lily. Just as you got out of the building, you heard some loud chatter and a faint smell of marshmallows coming from the other side of the building.
You followed the noise, realizing it came from the porch were you usually ate dinner around a fire with your friends, before the whole Natasha-thing happened.
You hid behind a pillar, recognizing all your friends’ voices, trying to recompose yourself in order to go see what all this was about without letting your troubled side show.
The first thing you saw were your friends in a circle, rounded around a fire, roasting marshmallow on wooden sticks. The next thing, though, is what hurt you the most: Natasha was sitting on a boy’s lap, kissing him passionately, her marshmallow long forgotten on the ground. As they separated themselves to catch their breath, giggling like high schoolers, you recognized your Captain and love of a lifetime as the one who was kissing her. He was looking at her so affectionately, completely focused on her and with a love sick look in his eyes you’d never seen him with.
Is this what your friends had been doing every night behind your back?
Tears streaming down your face, you stomped in the area, all your friends suddenly noticing your presence as the chatter ended in a matter of seconds.
Nobody dared to look at your fiery eyes, opting to look at the ground instead.
“What is this?” You broke the silence, venom in your words.
Hange was the first one to get up, trying to get your wrist like she always did when she wanted you to calm down. “Y/n please.”
“Oh don’t you Y/n me! You hung out together, leaving me out for all this time, not even once thinking about asking me to join, when I’ve been inviting you to eat together every single day.” You said, words latched with anger.
“We can explain, please Y/n!” She pleaded you, but you slapped her hand off of you, repelled by her.
“No, we don’t need to explain ourselves to her, do we guys?” Natasha had rose up to her feet, facing you with a smug smirk.
“She’s right Y/n. Can’t we have other friends? Or do we have to spend every second of our lives with you?” Petra argued, going to stand by her new friend.
“Spend every…What the heck you guys? I’m away for one day and you all suddenly hate me?” You were trying as hard as you could to not let your emotions get in the way, but it was noticeable how your voice had cracked mid-sentence.
“We don’t hate you Y/n. We’re just tired…” Gunther answered lazily, not tearing his gaze away from his half burnt marshmallow.
“Of what Gunther? Tired of what?”
“Of you Y/n! Don’t you understand? They’re all sick of you trying to always be the center of attention, you’re useless and you act so childishly and god, you’re so damn emotional!” Natasha said.
You simply stared at them, tears pooling in your eyes and body trembling as your mind wasn’t able to register what was happening. All your greatest fears were coming to life: your friends had turned their back on you and hated you with all their guts. They’d eventually leave you and you’d become the same lonely loser you always had been.
“We’re sorry we had to break it to you this way, but she’s right, Y/n. We’re tired of you.” Erd finally spoke up, his voice lacking the usual warmth you once found comfort in.
It felt like the air had been sucked out of the room. Your chest tightened, a suffocating weight pressing down on you. Their words rang in your ears, over and over again, slicing through you like a thousand tiny blades.
Your lips parted, but no words came out—just a sharp inhale, like a drowning person gasping for breath. Your fingers clenched into fists at your sides, trying to steady yourself, but it was pointless. The trembling wouldn’t stop.
Then, your eyes found him.
Levi stood there, arms crossed, his usual unreadable expression in place. He hadn't spoken, hadn’t even looked at you properly. But what shattered you completely was what he didn’t do—he didn’t defend you. Not once.
Because he didn’t care.
Not about you. Not like you had hoped.
Not like he did for her.
Natasha was standing close to him, too close, her hand brushing against his arm as she smirked at you, victorious. And Levi let it happen. He let her claim him, let her act like she belonged by his side.
A choked sob escaped before you could stop it. You felt the tears spill over, warm against your cheeks as your body moved on its own.
You ran.You pushed past them, ignoring Hange’s desperate call of your name, ignoring the sting of their words echoing in your mind.
Your feet carried you blindly through the hallways of the barracks, past flickering candlelight and empty corridors, until you reached the safety of your dorm.
Slamming the door shut behind you, you collapsed onto your bed, burying your face in your pillow as the sobs wracked your body.
You had never felt more alone.
You had lost them.
And worst of all… you had lost him.
The next day you woke up with a throbbing headache, eyes puffy from all the crying and snot filling your nostrils.
You sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the ground, your heart heavy and tight. You could hear their voices outside your room—Levi and Natasha laughing, talking easily. Your stomach twisted.
The sound of it was enough to send you spiraling into a pit of self-doubt.
You’d spent so much time pushing those feelings down. Trying to convince yourself you were strong, that you weren’t someone to get lost in jealousy, but now, it was impossible to ignore.
You wrapped your arms around yourself, trying to shut out the thoughts that swirled in your mind. Natasha was everything you weren’t. Beautiful. Confident. Easy to talk to. And Levi... Levi always looked at her like she was perfect. You could see it, even when Natasha wasn’t around. It was the way he smiled when she walked into a room, the way his gaze lingered just a little too long.
He’d never look at you like that.
Your fingers ran through your hair, the weight of the realization sinking in. The truth you refused to see until now was clear. Levi would never love you the way he loved Natasha. He wouldn’t even have to think twice about it. Natasha had everything—beauty, grace, strength. All you had were scars, insecurities, and the weight of your own broken heart.
You’d never been able to see yourself the way Levi saw you, and now... now you didn’t know how to make him see you differently. You weren’t enough. You were never going to be enough.
Your breath hitched as you looked in the mirror. Your reflection was a stranger—a girl who had tried so hard to fit in, to pretend she was something she wasn’t, to make herself worthy of the things she could never have. You weren’t Natasha. You’d never be Natasha.
Your fingers brushed the scars that marked your skin—physical reminders of all the things you’d lost, all the parts of yourself you could never get back.
And then there was Levi.
You knew you could never ask him to choose you over Natasha. Natasha was everything you weren’t. She had beauty that drew people in, confidence that made everyone love her. You didn’t have that. You were just... ordinary, bruised, broken.
"He doesn’t love me," you whispered under your breath, your voice barely audible. "He loves her.”
A bitter laugh escaped your lips, and you hated yourself for feeling this way, for being so weak, for letting your insecurities get the best of you. But it was undeniable. Every time you saw the way Levi looked at Natasha, you couldn’t help but feel like you were competing with a version of yourself you could never reach.
Your heart felt like it was cracking. Maybe you’d fooled yourself into thinking he could love you.
Maybe he did, but he would always love Natasha more.
Your chest tightened, the tears starting to blur your vision. You wiped them away angrily.
No, you couldn’t be this girl. You couldn’t let jealousy take over. But the truth was clear now. Levi would never see you the way you wanted him to.
With an agonizingly slow pace, you got ready for today’s mission: you and the rest of the Levi Squad were going to head out of the Walls. You couldn’t leave now, not when the formation included you as a spotter for Titans, but perhaps you could free them of your presence after the mission.
You didn’t go to breakfast, stomach closed and eating having become only a small problem at the end of the list of the things you had to fix, or end, in this case.
With an empty look in your eyes, you headed to the stables, finding your teammates also getting ready for the mission.
They were silent, though for once, you didn’t want to break the silence. You started to realize how much it was valuable: it wasn’t something you needed to fill anymore, but something that filled you.
You sensed their apologetic looks, Natasha’s victorious smile and Levi’s usual cold yet troubled gaze, but you kept your eyes trained on the ground in front of you, or on the surrounding land once you were out of the walls.
As you were returning after a long day of scouting, a group of Titans approached you, running at an insane speed.
“They’re catching up on us!” Petra exclaimed, terror filling the senses of you all.
“What do we have to do Levi?” Natasha asked her new boyfriend.
“We have to keep riding, let’s hope we can reach the walls in time.” He replied.
“We’re never gonna make, they’re running way faster than usual!” Erd said.
“The Captain told us to keep riding, so shut up and do what you’ve been ordered to!” Gunther scolded you, putting everyone back in position.
Suddenly, the Walls came into view: you’d made it, you were going to live!
Your hope was quick to die however, as you looked back and saw the Titans at barely miles apart. They would have reached you before you could make it back.
You were all going to die! You had to do something!
You took a long breath, a peaceful smile appearing on your face.
“Why are you smiling? We’re going to die!” Petra asked you, worried.
“No you’re not. You’re not going to die today…” You’d made your decision, yet deep down, you’d always known. You loved your friends and cared about them too deeply to let them die at the hands of such monstrous creatures. Even though they had all been little sh!ts to you in the past few days, they were all the most loving and caring souls one could find inside the walls. Without looking back, they’d offered their lives, sacrificing their future for a greater good, in order to save Humanity, even though nobody was there to save them. They were skilled warriors and Humanity would already have been destroyed it it weren’t for their work. They were far more valuable than you were, and Humanity couldn’t lose them. You would rather have them and your parents alive but sad, than everybody dead because you didn’t have the courage to do what needed to be done.
“Just know that, I love you guys, and I’ll always carry you in my heart, no matter what you’ve done or said. Oh, and tell my parents I love them too, alright?” You continued your last speech, realization dawning over your friends as they looked back at you in horror.
Too late did they start yelling your name, for you’d already slowed down your horse to a walk, turning to face the group of beasts.
“Keep riding! She’s saving us! Don’t let her sacrifice be in vain.” Levi yelled, urging his horse and companions forward, closer to the walls and further from their friend.
You watched as they disappeared from your view, nothing but little black dots in a sea of green, a few tears trailing down your chin.
This was it, the end. If you’d known you would’ve died so soon, you probably would’ve hugged your parents tighter that day, but it was too late to regret your choices now. Your time had arrived, you may be forgotten, but you would have done your job to keep humanity safe for a bit longer. A determined look fell on your face, as you turned around to face the Titans. You were going to die, you were sure of it, but you sure as heck weren’t going down without a fight!

LEVI/F!READER/ERWIN | ROYALTY AU | P. 1 OF 2
Having had enough of your father pushing suitor after suitor on you, you make a vow: before the night is over, you will experience pleasure on your own terms. But as the saying goes, forbidden fruit is the sweetest—and no fruit is more tempting than the one your two knights have to offer.

( Next part )

"Princess Reiss, her Royal Highness, First of her Name, and Heir to the Throne of Paradis!"
The attendant bellows out your many titles, the sound of which echoes in the great halls of your forefathers.
In the distance, a crowd has amassed where your father sits on the throne. All eyes turn as you step in, and you realize there was a reason behind your lady's maid fretting over your hair this morning.
Your eye twitches.
Another day, another suitor.
"This is Floch Forster, your Highness," the Hand of the King declares. He bows, gesturing towards your father's latest pick. "Lord of Utopia."
The man—Floch—runs a hand through his hair as you set your gaze on him.
He's tall, you suppose, and handsome enough, with a serious face and a firm posture. But he looks at you like some trifling prize to be won, and that makes your jaw tight. You will be Queen of the Realm one day—someone he owes allegiance to, not the other way around.
He won't do.
The meeting does not go well, and you send this Floch character on his way. You can tell he's displeased, what with the way he bristles and huffs like a peacock, glares at the floor like it had personally insulted him. You don’t care; you can't imagine a union with a man like him—someone who'd never see you as his equal, but try to undermine your influence and power every step of the way.
In truth, the prospect of marriage has never appealed to you. If it were up to you, you’d ascend the throne by yourself, and rule without the presence of some man who'd expect you to push babe after babe from your womb. But, of course, as a woman, you have royal duties to uphold.
"I will not tolerate you not marrying, daughter," the King warns later on.
You're now dining with your father in the main halls—alone, aside from the presence of knights and servants. You pay neither your father nor them any mind, digging into your vegetables solemnly.
"Do you have nothing to say?" your father grumbles. "Nothing to apologize for? This is the third match you send away! Soon, the realm will run out of suitors."
You lift your cool gaze at him. You know your father means well by introducing you to suitors, that he loves you in his own way. But the way he keeps on pushing man after man on you is simply suffocating. If you were to ever marry, you would much prefer for it to be with someone you actually cared about. You'd want for things to happen naturally.
But the future of the realm, of securing a bloodline, waits for no one, least of all for you.
"I don’t see the issue here," you say all the same. “I will marry when I find the right candidate.”
"Yes, and when will that be? When I am dead and buried underground?"
You roll your eyes. "Really, must you be so dramatic, father?"
“You are the reason your father is so dramatic!” Now he stands. No longer is the look he sends one a father gives his daughter—no, this is the look that a king gives his subject. “My advisors tell me I am too lenient with you, but long have I ignored their plights. Now, I see that I have been blind.”
“And what of my plights, Father?" you hiss. "Do I have no say in my future? What if I wished to rule alone?”
“Your plights are of no consequence to the realm, foolish girl. A woman cannot rule alone.” Your father’s jaw locks, tight as a bowstring. “You will marry before this year is over. Is that understood?”
You scoff. "You cannot possibly—"
“Oh, but I can because I am your king and when I speak, my word is law,” he snarls, slamming a fist on the table. A jug of water tips over—neither of you pay attention to it. A servant scurries to handle the mess. “You either listen to me now, or I will force you down the aisle myself until you produce heirs of your own.”
His threat hang in the air. You feel its weight on you, like physical chains summoned around your wrists. It makes you grit your teeth, setting your glare onto your curled fists laid out on your laps.
The tension could be cut open.
You push your chair back, the feet rattling against the stone ground, and stand up. “Fine,” you sneer as you turn away, “breed me like a brooding mare, if that’s all you care about.”
Your father grates out your first name. "And where do you think you're going? We aren't done."
"But we are!" You swerve your attention back on him, shooting him a look of absolute vitriol. You don't remember the last time you had such an argument with him. "I'm going back to my books, while I still have the liberty to read freely."
"Daughter—"
“—or will you take that right away now, too?"
At your words, your father's eyes gleam furiously; his voice is cold as ice. "This is not the end of this. You will marry, and if you don't make a choice soon, I will make it for you."
You say nothing in return, letting the echo of your scattered footsteps be the answer to your father’s penance.
As you exit the halls that night, you don't see the worried looks your two guards exchange as they follow you out.
You’ve already got a plan brewing.
You do not go back to your books.
As soon as you’re inside your chambers, you lock the door shut, only to hurl a nearby vase across the room. It shatters in a hundred pieces, but it gives you none of the relief you thought it might. With blood pumping through your veins; you heave like you just escaped an apex predator’s claws.
You grit your teeth.
It’s all so unfair. That your father expects you to fall back into line, to do as he says, simply because he commands it. Has he forgotten the child you once were, or does he simply refuse to see the real you?
Damn him. Damn this whole system that cursed you the moment you were born. Another princess might have wept or accepted her fate, but not you.
Tonight, you’ll break free.
“Princess?” a concerned voice comes from the other side of the thick wooden door.
It is soon followed by two knocks, slow and firm. The voice belongs to one man, the knocks to another. Your guards.
"Leave me,” you tell them. “I do not wish to be disturbed,"
The two men, Erwin Smith and Levi Ackerman, have known you since childhood . They understand you well enough to recognize that you're not actually fine, but thankfully, they seem to respect your need for privacy. Erwin lets you know they’re just outside the door if you need anything. You already know you won’t call for them.
Not tonight.
No, tonight, they can’t follow you down this path. Despite being lifelong friends, this journey is one you must make alone.
You eye the corner of your chambers.
There is a secret passage just behind the bookcase of your bedroom. It is not known by many—just you and your guards. It is the same passageway you would often take to meet Levi and Erwin in secret, to watch them spar on the training field, to talk about books and dreams when all still seemed within your grasp.
It seems you must grasp one more dream for yourself.
The streets of Mitras are lively in the evenings.
Filled with jesters and children, dancers and sell-swords, merchants and entertainers, there is much that is happening tonight. The thick stench of sweat and mud, the taste of tart pie and mead, the sound of songs and gossip. It paints a study in the everyday lives of common folks.
On any other day, you might have stopped to observe your future subjects, but not tonight. As you make your way further down the web of the city, you feel equal parts thrilled and anxious. This is the first time you’re out without your guards, after all; you can’t help but feel bare without them. It makes you glance over your shoulders. Clad in a cloak with a dagger and bag strapped to your hip, you know to remain prudent.
You’re on a mission, after all, one that is personal, and you do not wish to be stopped.
Sex.
The concept isn’t foreign to you. You know what coupling is; you’ve seen peaks of it in stories, behind closed doors. You know that sex isn’t simply something that people do to procreate, but that it is immense pleasure. Men and women do it, but also men and men, women and women, and all genders that come in between.
You think that this is what pushed you to step out of the comfort of your room tonight. Pleasure, with someone who would be willing to do it for you—not because you must, but because you both want to.
Only now that you’re here, you falter. The Perfumed Quarters, where you now stand, carry the finest brothels. You’re certain that with the coin you carry, you might find one that would be discreet enough to give you the pleasures you desire. Man or woman, you would have your pick.
But are you really daring enough to do this?
You close your eyes, fidgeting with your hands as you eye the entrance door. You had a glass of whiskey before leaving—some liquid courage for the road—but now, you suddenly wish you’d taken the entire bottle with you.
"Hullo there, pretty thin’," slurs a voice close to your ears. The stench of alcohol that permeates makes your stomach wrench. You glance up, meeting the face of a man gazing at you with clear interest. "My, y'ar quite the sight. Skin like velvet..."
He reaches out to touch your face, but you flinch back.
"Dressed so prettily too, under that cloak... Are ya one of the whores working here, hm? An escaped rabbit from her cage?"
Your brows knit together. "You misunderstand, sire. I'm not a working woman. I simply—"
The man does not listen, seizing one of your wrists. Your brows scrunch low, and with your free hand, you grab the dagger, showing him you're no helpless thing.
A callous bark rumbles out of him. “Is’tis part of the act, hah? The little rabbit has fangs, and I get to eat ya whole?”
Before you have a chance to show him just how real your fangs are, your peripheral catches a flash of silver. Before you realize it, a long blade, cutting the space between the two of you, brands a path dangerously close to the man’s throat.
"Get your filthy hands off of her."
Your body freezes; you recognize that baritone tone.
Sure enough, no later than a second after, your peripheral catches sight of Levi and his golden cloak. He’s the one delivering the threat, though you soon realize he’s not alone: Erwin, to his right, assesses the situation with a sharp gaze.
Your lips part, eyes rounding at the sight of them. How they found you, you know not, but you know that you're in for one a hell of a talk.
"Golden cloaked guards from the palace." The stranger's eyes are wide with fear as he stares back at you. "But that means, you must be..."
"No one you need to concern yourself with," Levi says dryly, stepping in between you and the man, "now, I won't repeat myself, if you wanna live—scram."
The knot in the man's throat bobs uncertainly, but he seizes his chance while he still can—he scurries away. You scowl, watching his retreating form. You know Levi only let him go to avoid stirring attention, but that criminal deserved a lot worse than what he got. Under your rule, you'll make sure the people working these streets receive better protection from people like him.
You do not get time to consider this matter for very long, however, because you’re soon reminded of your guards' presences. You turn towards them, face devoid of emotions.
Levi's eyes narrow. "Explain."
“Not here.” Erwin steps closer to you as well, looking over his shoulder. “We’re drawing unwanted attention.”
Levi sheathes back his sword, his glare still directed at you. “Fine. Let’s go then.”
Despite their words, you stay rooted to your spot.
“It wasn’t a request.” Levi turns, clearly exasperated. He grabs your wrist.
You grit your teeth, glaring at him. You know better than to argue with either of them right now, but you don't appreciate him manhandling you like a piece of meat.
“I will once you unhand me,” you hiss.
Levi’s gaze levels with you, looking at you like you were glass. He finally releases you, but not without his own flair; he crosses his arms over his chest, staring at you like he expects you to make a run for it, to fight him on this.
You roll your eyes; how dramatic. Even if you could somehow outrun them, your bravado for tonight has all but vanished.
And so, you diligently follow them, with Erwin leading, while Levi walks behind you. Both of them are quiet on the walk back, the sound of their armors clinking through the cobblestone streets of the city. Neither wish to attract attention to the fact that they were escorting the future queen of the realm, heading straight into the castle's back way passage.
It is the calm before the storm.
"What the hell were you thinking, Princess?" is the first thing Levi says the moment he ceremoniously drags you into your chambers, hand firmly attached to your elbow.
Levi forces the cloak and weapon off of you, a glint in his eyes that makes it clear he's pissed.
You glare at him, ripping your arm away from him.
Out of your two guards, Levi Ackerman is always the one quickest to rile up. You think he has a bad temper and a mouth that ought to be washed with soap. For this reason, you often bicker with him, partly because you're often too prideful to admit defeat, but also because you secretly enjoy the banter.
Tonight, however, you do not have the will to fight.
"I do not know, Levi." You sigh, heading towards your vanity to place down your bag. "I just wished to wander by myself, I suppose."
"Into the Perfumed Quarters? Don't you know what business goes on in that part of town?"
You whip your head around. "Of course I know. I'm not an idiot."
"Really?" Levi sneers. "Could've fooled me, Princess."
He pops the p in your title, just the way he knows you hate it. Your eyes narrow.
"Let her regain her breath, Levi," Erwin interrupts, effectively breaking apart this building feud. He's made sure to close every door, every window, shut. He sidesteps the broken vase, the pieces of which are still scattered by the entrance. "I'm sure there's a perfectly good explanation for all of this."
Erwin observes you, seeking to understand. He's different from Levi in that way. He's more patient, more calm than his counterpart. Still, under that mask of stillness lurks a cleverness that you've learned not to take lightly.
You hate this—hate that you've ended up caught red-handed by these two men, by your friends. How did they even notice you were missing? You thought you were being discreet.
Knowing them, they probably defied your orders and checked on you, only to discover your treachery. You sigh, cursing yourself inwardly. Out of everyone who might have caught you, why did it have to be them? This feels like a cruel joke from the Gods.
The three of you grew up together. First as a girl and two young squires, later as a princess and her two knights. Yours is a relationship forged in friendship, in trust, in loyalty. Where the princess goes, so does her two guards. There is no one she trusts more.
You've heard the whispers over the years. The words that rivals in court like to spin—those who'd rather slit their throats than see a woman like you sit on the throne. A whore, the little birds whisper. A princess that dared to lower herself by opening her legs not to one, but to both her guards.
None of it is true, of course.
But perhaps it is the spirit from earlier that emboldens you, but you find yourself wishing it were, to at least have this part of yourself that would be yours.
"Earth to the princess of the realm," Levi's chastising voice echoes in your ears. One of your eye twitches. "What the hell were you doing tonight? Don't you know what those places offer?"
“Of course I know, Levi. Did you ever consider that I sought such an establishment for that exact purpose?”
“...What?”
It is no secret that Levi’s mother was a prostitute. You know he doesn’t see the job of a working woman or man as lesser, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t look down on people who take advantage of workers and enable establishments from profiting off their labor.
It must bother him, your words.
You try to soften the blow, because you don't want to lose his good opinion of you, whatever it may be. "I did my research, Levi. I picked one run by a woman, one that treats its workers fairly, with good compensations and living conditions."
"But, why the hell are you looking to... to go to a brothel? You've never… your chasteness—"
"Fuck my chasteness."
Levi’s brows knit together, though the rest of his face looks more in a stupor than anything else. You, on the other hand, are now filled with explosive emotions.
"Why did you seek such a place, your Highness?" Erwin finally speaks up, his smooth voice easing some of the tension in your shoulders. "Why not talk to us about it first?"
Your eyes flicker towards him. There's Erwin. Level-headed, calm, clever Erwin. Always asking just the question you most wished he didn't.
"Because…” you hesitate, “because I wish to know what it is like. I wish for things to be my decision for once, to decide how and where I..."
You close your mouth, feeling yourself growing hot. You know you shouldn't say these words to them. A princess shouldn't want pleasure. A princess shouldn't sneak off to seek a brothel. And a princess should especially not discuss such matters with her two male guards.
They both fall silent, which only renders the situation more awkward.
"You could have at least asked one of us to accompany you," Erwin suggests.
"Would you?" Your gaze is that of tepid coolness. "Would you have let me go?"
At that, both your guards seem a little torn. Levi's eternal frown hasn't wavered, while Erwin's eyes are intently on you, as if you were some puzzle needing to be solved.
You swallow, sitting at the edge of your bed, interlacing your fingers into a knot.
"You heard my father earlier. Soon, I will have no choice. I will marry. And I know it is my duty, I know it. But the idea of someone forcibly taking this part of myself before I am ready to give it up makes me ill. So yes, I went into town. Because I wanted to find this side of myself on my own."
Silence falls. You feel their gaze on you, heated and intense. You look at them. Their expressions tell you enough.
"You see," you say bitterly, "even if I had told you, you would have stopped me."
Steps usher towards you. In a heartbeat, Erwin is kneeling in front of you, eye-level with you. His gaze speaks of compassion, of soft understanding. "It is because we worry for you, your Highness. We've known each other since all three of us were children. We do not wish to see you harmed at the hands of a stranger."
For some reason, Erwin's words make you glance at Levi. You wish to know if Erwin's words ring true.
Levi clears his throat, a pout forming on his lips. "Princess, not every lover is created equal. You should... you deserve to know someone who pleases you."
Something heavy fills in your chest.
“And a brothel wouldn’t give that to me?” you ask in a crestfallen tone. “Aren’t they trained in the art of love-making?”
“That is not for us to say, or to judge,” Erwin answers. “But it doesn’t stop us from worrying.”
You stare at your bare hands, reeling them into a fist over your lap. This whole situation feels so deeply unfair.
“Tell me, why must my body be used for breeding grounds?” you ask, more to yourself than to anyone else. “Why must my value only be placed for what’s between my legs?”
Erwin stands back up, his presence a warm shadow on your side. To your surprise, both he and Levi take a seat next to you, with you in between them.
"Princess, it is not for us to voice what is right or wrong." Erwin places a hand over yours; it sends jitters straight to your stomach. "But we wish for you to be safe."
Next to you, Levi interlaces his fingers on his laps. You can't help but notice how clean and well-trimmed his nails are, compared to even your own. How gentle his fingers look, amidst a sea of armor. You wish he'd place one of his hands on top of yours, just to feel both his and Erwin's touch at the same time.
"You have known me since I was young,” you say. “Don't you grieve for who I used to be? Who I could have become? Why must I let some stranger do what he likes with me—”
You stop talking, feeling nausea churning in your belly. Clearly, you’re saying things you shouldn’t.
But this is Levi and Erwin. Somehow, with them, words always come out easier. With them, things have always come easier. Natural.
“Princess.” Erwin squeezes your hand. You still don’t look at him, but you admire his broad fingers, filled with scars that speak of past battles. “You know we will defend you no matter what. If your future husband forces you—”
"But what if I never want him? What if I want you both instead—"
You don't finish your sentence. Sandwiched between them, their breaths caressing your bare skin like silk, it's hard to think.
To your surprise, Levi is the first one to speak up, "Finish what you were about to say."
Your eyes flicker to him. He's close. His gray eyes are relentless and charged, defying you to speak, like a great storm gathering in the distance. And his lips—
Are moving.
"Tell us," Levi says again, grating out your name.
But you've never been one to say what you want directly—you've never been allowed to. Now that Levi is asking you to tell him, you hesitate. You raise a hand to your face, concealing your shame. "I'm sorry. I know that the two of you are, well, together. I don't know what's gotten into me. I don't know why I'm saying these things to you."
You know what the two of them are. Lovers. You know it to be true, because you see the way they look at one another, the way they talk. You’ve long felt envy in your heart—not at one of them in particular, but wishing you could be a part of it. Wishing that they would embrace you with open arms.
The truth is, you love them. You’ve loved them for a long, long time.
And you suddenly wonder: was this what you were seeking to find tonight? Did you simply search for them in others?
"Princess, we've both—" Erwin's voice beckons you back to the present. Your gaze falls on him. He tilts his head, smiling softly. "We have long known how we both feel about you. If duties and titles were shirked away, don't you know what we would have done by now?"
It is a bold thing he is saying—what a guard is saying to his princess. He could be exiled for such a statement, or worse. But Erwin has always been a bold man, one that takes gambles.
You just never thought you'd actually see the day where he would take a chance on you.
Before you can move, fingers slip between your own, filled with questions. You watch as Erwin carefully runs his thumb over your knuckles, gently turns your hand on his lap.
Instinctively, your head turns towards Levi, afraid that you'll find betrayal on his face for the way his lover is touching you.
Wrong.
Instead, Levi's eyelids are half-lidded, an intensity to his expression as he assesses your every movement. It turns the spikes in your belly to butterflies.
"I..."
"Just say it." Levi says your first name again, like it was a prayer that would bring absolution to his sins. "Just give us the command."
But you do not wish for this to be a princess' command. You wish for it to be a woman and two men, bound in pleasure and feelings.
"I wish for your touch," you hesitate, "but not because I command it, but because you wish for it. Otherwise, let us never speak of this again. We can forget and—"
You mean to stand back up.
But a warm hand—Erwin's—snakes up to the back of your neck, forcing you to turn in his direction.
And then his lips meet yours.
He kisses you.
He kisses you... and your mouth parts in surprise, feeling a buzz of energy vibrate across your body, a path of tingling sensation scattering upwards like dozens of tiny birds flapping their wings. Erwin's kiss is chaste and innocent, like a schoolboy kisses a crush. Soon enough, he leans away, vibrant blue eyes gauging your reaction, and when you stare at him, slightly disoriented, he smiles.
He should have known you’d want more. You’re a spoiled thing, after all, used to the finer things.
Which is why you grab him by the collar and demand another kiss.
Erwin's chest vibrates as he chuckles, and his hands gently fall on your waist as he reciprocates the kiss. His lips open up to you, like a flower blooming under the sun. His thumb fumbles with the thick of your dress, a gentle sigh escaping his lips as you lean away.
A lopsided grin graces his lips and you can't help but return it.
"Forgetting about me, already?" comes a drawl from behind.
You turn to Levi, amused at his impatience. He's got a brow raised, staring at both of you with a slight pout on his lips. The sight makes you stare back fondly.
"I would never," you say.
Levi’s flicker to your lips. Where Erwin was bold and self-assured, Levi is more prudent, like he thought you might catch on fire if you touch him.
And so, you make sure to set you both ablaze by pressing your lips to his.
For a moment, nothing happens, Levi just sits there, frozen.
And then, like a switch happening in his mind, Levi's hands fall to your jaw, his fingers winding into your hair, along your scalp. His restraint slips past him as he slides his tongue into your mouth, warm and alive. Your mind reels from the sensation, so different to Erwin’s softness. Levi tastes like black tea, the kind you always see him drink each morning. Levi pushes into you, making you bump against Erwin’s broad chest, and your heartbeat soars the moment you feel Erwin’s steady hands on your shoulders.
Who knew that kissing could feel so lovely, so intoxicating? Who knew what it would be like to feel the embrace of two lovers, of the two people your heart has yearned for?
Levi groans against your lips, his fingers cupping the valleys of your cheeks. Your movement pushes you further onto Erwin, forcing him to lie down as the bed creaks under your combined weight.
When Erwin chuckles, his husky voice vibrates against the back of your skull.
"Ngh —s-slow down, Levi," you huff. "I'm suffocating."
"Can you blame him?" Erwin says languidly, the back of his fingers brushing across your exposed forearms. "You're a delight."
Levi finally slides away, his blown-out pupils taking in the sight. You, all disheveled, resting against Erwin, whose eyes gleam with knowing pride, with love. The knot in Levi's throat bobs. What a sight he has in front of him, for only him.
With a swift hand, Levi undoes his cravat, neatly folding it and placing it on the nightstand. When he comes back at the end of the edge of your bed, he stands there, assessing you with hawk-like seriousness.
Shyly, you offer him your hand.
He takes it.
Without saying a word, you guide him back to his seat, nudging Erwin upright with your other hand. Slowly, you intertwine their fingers together, overlapping them on your lap. You watch with evident admiration at the marvel of golden, calloused skin blending with slender pale fingers, the expanse of their knuckles filled with scars that's a testament to their pledges as your knights.
A smile creeps on your face. Both your lovers watch as you lean back, propping yourself on your elbows while they stay seated upright at the edge of your bed.
"Now it's your turn," you tell them, “… if you want."
Understanding flashes on their faces, though it manifests differently for each of them. On Levi, it comes across as perplexed hesitation, looking from you to Erwin, like he didn’t think you'd want to witness this. Erwin, however, seems to have seen this coming, because his mouth twitches as he bends down to capture Levi's lips with complete confidence.
Levi outright melts into Erwin's touch.
You'd long imagined the two of them like this, kissing. Hands exploring one and another, lips moving in perfect accordion, eyes fluttering shut.
But seeing it now , shared with you… it’s something else.
You love them. You love them so very much.
Because there’s so much adoration, respect, and mutual understanding to be seen here. Erwin’s patience, taking and enjoying, contrasted with Levi’s desire to be filled and devoured, all in the span of this little shared space that now belongs to the three of you.
When they break apart, you are certain your eyes are hazy with desire.
"We got a bit carried away," Levi mutters.
You hum. "I liked it."
You swear a hint of pink kisses his cheeks.
"So we're really doing this?" Levi grumbles. His eyes gleam on you, dark and heady. "It is a sacrilege, what you are doing, Princess. You are debasing yourselves with two people who are far beneath your station. We are not worthy to defile you."
You frown, looking from him to Erwin, searching for an answer on how to make it right. Erwin’s face is blank, and you understand it is up to you to convince Levi, not him.
You reach out for his hand.
"Levi," you say softly, sliding up next to him. Behind, Erwin's fingers brush the nape of your neck, as if to praise you for this step. You look into Levi’s eyes, earnest and true. "In this life, there are not many things that will be mine to pick. So, please... would you be mine?"
Levi melts at your platitude, He takes in the rest of you. You, with swollen lips and hearts in your eyes, must look like quite the delight.
“The two of you are the same,” Levi says, leaning closer with vibrant eyes. “So damn corny.”
You let out a chortle that sounds more disbelief than it does laughter. Levi and his wild mouth. You still think it ought to be washed by soap, though you suppose that it’s got its charms.
Levi leans back, removing his shoes. Next to him, Erwin chuckles, reaching to unclasp his own armor. Like a giddy young girl, you help them, picking up each piece of worn leather and laying it at the base of the bed, making sure it is all neatly ordered for them to easily dress afterward. Once finished, the two men then take their turns disrobing the outer layer of your dress, with Levi grumbling, “how do you even breathe in this thing?” until you are clad in nothing but your chemise.
You shiver. This is the barest you've ever been in their presence, a vulnerability that feels both thrilling and intimate.
For safe measure, you lock the doors—this time, you know no one will interrupt. Only you, Erwin, and Levi have a set of keys.
When you turn back around, Erwin and Levi are both gazing at you, their eyes charged with an intensity that makes your chest lock. They inspect you like you inspect them, their eyes sweeping over your form. A lifetime of knowledge, of love, of duty, and honor, hangs behind this moment, this relationship. It pulses in the air, a recognition that this, right now, is a turning point for all three of you.
Because tonight changes everything.
And you’re prepared to let it.

“surprise!!” pt.1 - e. jeager
eren x implied!blackfem reader (but yk anyone can read it) (college au, fluff, pinning, established relationships)
𝜗𝜚˚⋆
you didn’t think anyone knew about your birthday. not that you blamed them; you never brought it up and you had only known your friends for a few months and you definitely didn’t see them everyday. however something felt quieter than usual, like the world went still just for you.
earlier that day
it was a friday, you woke up in your dorm room, by yourself, earlier than your 10:00 alarm. your roommate, mikasa, was already gone. wiping the sleep out of your eyes, you check your phone, 9:47. your eyes drift to your messages and you see,
“connie 😛”
‘if you had to chose would you have a baby shower indoors or outdoors’
your eyebrows furrow as you look at your screen.
‘uh…
inside
what??
who’s pregnant???’
read 9:51
you roll your eyes and swipe out of messages and open instagram.
“@e.jeager liked your story”
you had recently gotten your hair done as a birthday gift for yourself. the cutest black side part with bouncy curls installed. you felt shallow for getting excited at his attention. you two had met through armin after a class and realized you shared a marketing class with him. the both of you had been exclusive for about two months. everything was pretty sweet between you and him.
however, after a moment you had felt a little sour that not even he had said anything about your birthday. before you could dwell any further your alarm finally went off, signaling you to get ready for your first class. you dragged yourself to your shared bathroom and were surprised with a black cat stuffed animal on the corner of sink with a note.
“happy birthday, see you soon. -mika”
your lips pouted at the gesture. you had known mikasa the longest with her being your roommate you. you went to text her thank you but she was on do not disturb. you figured wherever you’d see her you’d thank her then. you went back to your bed to give the cat a better home and finished getting ready
𝜗𝜚˚⋆
meanwhile
jean and armin sat on erens couch, inflating the balloons for the party decorations. as the blond blows ties them with ease, jeans lips lose grip of his balloon and it shoots armins way. “jean.” armin glares at him through his lenses as he ties up another balloon.
“my bad bro,” jean shot his hands up “not everyone’s as good at blowing as you are…” he jokes with suggestive hand movement. armin is taken aback by jean’s immaturity and gives him a disgusted look “whaaat..?!” he hisses before smacking the other with a balloon. jean chuckles before getting interrupted by the man himself.
“guys!” eren shouts from outside on the balcony. “i asked you guys to come over to help not to mess around!”
“did she text back” eren hovered over connie’s phone that was open on your text thread. connie playfully elbowed him out the way. “i can’t tell, your big heads in the way.” eren pursed his lips and slouched in front of him, awaiting an answer.
“she said inside” connie announced, tapping his joint into an ashtray. “wasn’t very subtle by the way.. a baby shower? really..?”
“that’s why I had you text her not me. she’d expect a random text like that from you.”
connie tried to act offended but then he scrolled up along your text thread and it was full of his shower thoughts. “hm. touché,”
𝜗𝜚˚⋆
11:00
your first and only class of the day was marketing. the usual spot that you and eren sat in was empty other than a bouquet of your favorite flowers and a card that read:
“happy birthday pretty girl, there’ll be something special waiting for you in your room after class. see you soon -eren ♡ ”
a smile crept across your face as you pull out your phone to take a picture of the display.
“eren boyfie 💘”
‘*sent attachment*
is this some sort of scavenger hunt?’
‘something like that ;)’
you snort a bit before placing the bouquet in between your legs for lecture.
after class, you walked faster than usual back to your dorm. your door was already unlocked, which left you nervous but you walked in anyways. on your bed awaited a small black gift back with gold glitter. tied to the strap of the bag was a cupcake balloon with a note on it.
you reached up to grab the note.
‘head to the spot we first met’
you shoved the note into your purse before looking into the bag. it had a box with a necklace. it was a flying white dove holding an olive branch with a gold chain.
it was beautiful. you stared at it for a bit before a knock on your door interrupts.
you open it to see a blur of blonde hair as the girl collapsed into a hug. “happy birthday!!”
“thank you, historia”
𝜗𝜚˚⋆
eren was caught smiling at his phone as sasha crept behind him. “so what’d she think of the flowers!? “jesus christ, sasha!” he jumps, nearly dropping his phone. he scowls at her, “aren’t you supposed to be decorating the cake?”
“don’t be silly, jeager, i’m just waiting for it to cool down”
connie slings his arm around erens shoulders, causing him to slouch. “can’t blame him sasha, he wants everything to be perfect for his girlfriend~” connie drags his words in a babyish tone.
eren braces himself for this round of teasing from the duo. it’s been back to back all day.
“you’re right con, i may be the one baking but he’s the one that’s completely whipped”
the tall brunette rolled his eyes at their jokes before swatting the two bugs off of him as they quietly continue their mocking. he moves to the couch to help with armin and jeans balloons. eren sinks into the furniture before bouncing his knee and inflating more.
“eren you don’t need to stress so much,” armin assures. “everything’s going fine, by now she should be out with historia, so we have plenty of time to decorate.” eren struggled to tie a balloon as he spoke, “i want everything to be perfect, she deserves this so much.”
“that’s why we’re here, stupid,” jean shoves him out of his slump. “everyone knows a party ain’t good a party without a touch of jean” eren throws a couch pillow at his face and inflates another balloon.
“but she never sent a picture of the second gift i got her…what if she didn’t like it? what if she didn’t get it? what if so-“ *ba-ding*
‘pretty girl’
𝜗𝜚˚⋆
you walk out of the dressing room to look at yourself in the mirror. a short white dress with a hem that ended mid thigh, an off the shoulder neckline that highlighted your cleavage, your back exposed as the dress is tied together with a satin ribbon. you felt sexy, yet elegant.
“oh em gee!! you look amazing! this one might be my favorite,” she says as she ties up the string on the back for you. you smile at her through the mirror. by now you’ve tried on tens of dresses and you think you finally found the right one.
“thank you.. you really didn’t have to do this,” you reminded her as she swiped her card at the register. “don’t be silly, honey, it’s your birthday,”
the two of you rode in her car to take you back to the dorms. historia plays paramore in the background as you lean against the window. looking through it you can see the lower half of your face in the side mirror, and your attention shifts to the necklace that eren gifted you. you pull out your phone and take a selfie making sure to get the pendant in frame. your smile in the corner of the screen with the necklace viewed in the center.
you sent the picture to your boyfriend to let him know you got it. as you hit send you recognize the building you drove past.
‘head to the spot we first met’
“can you drop me off here?” you perk up. historia glances at you, then out the window. “the library?” she asks, already turning into the parking lot.
“mhm!”
she pulls up to the front of the entrance and hugs you farewell, “bye honey i’ll see you soon,” her singsong tone echos as you leave the car. “see you later, ‘toria”
2:07
you scurry into the library with your purse and shopping bag in hand, hoping that whatever eren had waiting for you was still there. you walk in and already see a bag with another balloon attached to it. the women at the front desk is deep into a book and doesn’t notice you at first. you peak over the desk to check for a name tag and lo and behold, your name written in red ink.
“excuse me miss, could i get that bag please?” the woman looks up at you, knocked back into reality, “oh so you’re the birthday girl, a very lucky girl you are, the boy who dropped it off is quite the catch,” she gawks at you and you can’t help but smile wide at the comment. you thank her make your way to your dorm.
the walk was only about 7 minutes. you enter your dorm to hear mikasa with a blow dryer in your shared bathroom. you pop in next her to greet her. “mika i haven’t seen you all day~,”
you wrap your arms around her as she continues to dry her hair and smiles at you through the mirror. she quietly pats your head to satisfy you while she’s still busy getting ready.
you let her, and you finally open the third gift. inside the bag was an envelope and a box. the box held gold heels that wrapped around your calf as gems adorned the straps. you open the envelope to find a key and a final note.
‘4pm, -eren’
these notes just get vaguer and vaguer. you thought to yourself. however, you recognized the number on the round of the key, it was his apartment number.
3:17
your favorite playlist is playing throughout your dorm as you sat at your desk and mirror on the side of your bed adding in the final touches of your makeup. you wiped off any excess gloss or highlighter intensively. you gave yourself one final look before focusing on your dress and shoes.
“mikaaa, can you help me please?” you whine, hinting at the string in the back of you dress. she ties it up for you and you noticed that she’s put together nicely too. a spaghetti strapped black dress with her hair half up half down. “where are you going?” you teased looking her up and down. she stifles a laugh, “the same place you’re going,”
this confused you even more, however, she refused to elaborate. she made her way to the door and you blindly followed her, like a kitten following her mother. “ready?” she asked.
you swallow before you nod yes and find your way to her car.
𝜗𝜚˚⋆
3:56
“mikasa just said she’s pulling in!” armin exclaims. the rooms stress level increased as the group scrambled to find a hiding spot. jean and armin hid behind the couch, connie hid behind the curtains, and sasha ducked underneath the kitchen counter.
eren was the one to turn off the lights as he heard the elevator ding from far down the hall. then made his way behind a lounge chair. the darkness is still and quiet as keys jingle from outside.
4:00pm

Imagine Levi getting jealous of other guys who TRY to flirt with you at the annual colleague party. Him and nosey Erwin love to people watch, but the energy shifted the moment he couldn’t take it anymore. Didn’t help that someone else had his phone to post it either.
And you know who asked ‘what that was all about’ later that evening. Your oblivious ass has no clue. Let alone that Levi even felt that way about you. Tch.

Yeah. He’s pissed.

Levi stared at you dismissively, as if he was disgusted by your presence, scoffing. With a pile of smoke, the pretty Natasha appeared with her same victorious smirk.
As she emerged from the black smoke, she began kissing almost voraciously her boyfriend. They kept kissing and spitting in each other’s mouths, touching the other wherever their hands could reach and occasionally moaning. You were trying to look away, but your neck was rigid and unmoving, eyes fixed on the scene in front of you. Before they could get to the more intimate part, another pile of smoke covered them. This time, when they emerged, the scene was different: all your friends and your parents sat elegantly on white painted and carved wooden chairs, looking intently at something in front of them. As they caught up on your presence, their heads whipped in your direction at neck-snapping speed, and you suddenly felt self-conscious, making yourself smaller by curving your spine and hugging your torso with your arms. Petra and Hange laughed at you, while your parents shook their heads in defeat, as if they were ashamed of you because they had realized they hadn’t done a good job raising you. A loud fanfare brought their attention back to what looked like a neatly carved and decorated white wooden altar, filled with so many flowers you wouldn’t be surprised if bees started joining the group. Levi stood there, wearing his best smile, along with a tailored black suit that matched perfectly his silky hair, fringe framing beautifully his features. A happy Natasha came up from behind you with Gunther leading her to the altar, she wore a puffy white gown and an embroidered veil hid partially her features.
You knew perfectly what was going on: you’d seen this thousands of times in your dreams, only it was you instead of Natasha and the guests didn’t act so rude towards you.
Since you were a child, you used to run around saying you’d get married to the perfect man, your father fuming with jealousy though unable to do anything but play along or at least try to change the argument.
Your parents had been together since they were seventeen, so they’d raised the bar pretty high: how would you ever find a man you’d want to live your life with forever? A man that was going to share your dreams, passions, nightmares and mistakes and that would help you get through them and grow stronger.
You’d always thought about this person as Levi, but he surely didn’t. He loved Natasha. You had been too late to tell him your feelings, so it was only fair he got his happy ending, and it hurt you to say you were happy to know he had found the love of his life, even though it wasn’t her.
Just as they were about to kiss, two little kids sprinted through you as if you were made of air, the scene changing again. This time you were in a small cottage, a mouth-watering smell came from the kitchen, there was a thirty year old Levi playing on the floor with a tiny baby, looking at him like he was the most precious thing in the world. Confused, you headed to where the smell came from: Natasha was cooking a hearty meal, her and Levi’s children playing tag in the living room as their exhausted yet happy looking father scolded them and tried to get them to sit down.
Something warm fell on your cheek, and you looked up confused: was it raining inside their house? However, the only thing you could see was a perfectly clean ceiling with absolutely no signs of water leakage. As more liquid fell on your cheek, you went to wipe it off with your hand.
Sniffling quietly, you turned to examine your hand: were you crying? You usually knew when you were, because it came with a sickening feeling in your stomach and your throat closing on itself.
Instead of see-through droplets of tears, your hand was covered in a gooey red liquid.
Shocked, you almost fell on your back, realizing those weren’t tears, that was…blood.
“AAAHHHHH” You yelled, getting up at light-speed, breath coming in short and heart beating faster than your horse’s hooves when she galloped.
Mind filling with questions, you realized it had all been a simple dream and, not so long after, all your memories came back in a split second.
Where was your horse? Where was Lily?
Only then, you noticed a huge creature licking your face: there she was! Your Lily!
You went to scratch the back of her head, but a sharp pain in your shoulder and forearm stopped you in your tracks.
You soon realized your whole body hurt and you couldn’t get up and as you looked around, you realized you couldn’t see from your right eye. With the little strength you had left, you went to open your eye manually, thinking that your eyelids were simply stuck, like they usually were after particularly long naps.
However, as you touched your forehead, pain filled your senses once again.
Your chest tightened, suddenly the oxygen wasn’t enough for you anymore and tears pooled your left eye, all the tell-tale signs of a panic attack. You’d been getting them ever since you’d first faced the Titans and watched in horror as many of your peers were eaten alive by ruthless and filthy beasts. You didn’t have anyone to calm you down, so you panicked furthermore, knowing you were completely alone in an unknown forest in the middle of lands were Titans lived.
How were you going to survive out here, when you couldn’t even deal with your own emotions?
Going to rest once again on your back, you slowed down your ragged breathing. You weren’t fine, not in the slightest. But, if you’d survived a pack of a dozen of Titans all alone, with the only help of your four-legged friend, you could also get through this and survive. It wasn’t about having the perfect life, saving everyone and having a happy ending anymore. Right now, you had to focus on surviving, lasting the night. That wouldn’t be so hard, right?
Ignoring the skull destroying pain, you got up and on your horse. You saw your weapons and cloak scattered across the ground, Levi surely would’ve told you to pick it up. “Never litter” He used to say.
But he wasn’t hear now, was he? No, he’d left you to die as he saved himself and rode off to his stupid happy ever after with an as much stupid Natasha. You hated him, you loathed him. Your friends had left you, accepting your sacrifice without looking back. You would’ve turned back for them, you were sure you would’ve. But no, how do they repay the years of friendship and kindness? They turn their backs on you, following some sick b!tch and leaving you to die like you were nothing but a minor inconvenience to them. But most of all, you hated yourself for sacrificing your future for them, for ever believing they could like you back and accept you as one of their own. Truth is, you were never like them. Only now, you realized that maybe, it was a good thing that you’d gone your separate ways in the end, you were as much glad as them to be apart; as your father would say: “good riddance”.
The newfound anger gave you the strength to get up on your horse, and the thought of your loving family kept you awake, watching out for any Titans or wild animals.
In the meanwhile, Lily brought you deeper in the forest. You didn’t know why she was doing it, but you trusted her. She had kept you alive after you’d killed all the Titans for god knows how long, so you couldn’t do anything but thank her and trust her again.
Relief washed over you as you saw she was leading you to a small river, clear water gurgling loudly like your baby cousin whenever food was around.
Suddenly, you realized how hungry and thirsty you were, so without wasting any time, you ate a few apples from a nearby tree, drank the river’s water and started washing your face.
Scrubbing hard to get the dried blood off, you decided it wouldn’t hurt to clean up yourself a bit. As quickly as your cut and bruised limbs could, you tore off your blood and dirt soaked clothes, opting to clean those as well, or at least, to clean the remnants of your clothes, seeing how much they were also cut and reduced to rags.
The cold current helped you clear your mind, yet all the color was drained from your face as you saw your reflection in the water.
A huge gash ran from your forehead, to your left eye and down to your upper lip.
What would Levi think…No, you didn’t care about what he thought, that dumbass prick. He didn’t deserve to be in your presence, so you wouldn’t have to worry about him anymore.
As you dried off with a piece of your cloak, you put on your drenched clothes and got on Lily once more.
Right after stopping to eat something herself, she led you out of the forest, following the course of the small river through the hills and vast lands. She didn’t gallop, probably because she was also hurt and tired, but you didn’t usher her to a faster pace, enjoying the feeling of the sun drying your clothes and the soft cool wind playing with your hair. You sat in silence, obviously, you didn’t have anyone to talk to, but his time, you also had inner silence, a long lost peace that eased your senses and let a more calm and mindful version of you take over.
The ride was long, but you didn’t mind. You were happy to have a few moments to regain control over your body and think about what you were going to do next.
You knew you couldn’t go back to the Scouts. It would have been self-harm, you’d started to hate those who lived there, getting more and more repelled by them as time passed. You knew what you were going to do: you wanted peace and quiet, and there was only one place where you could feel that: your parents’ bakery. Yes, you would go back to your parents, stay to live with them and work at the shop as you did when you were younger.
The only problem now was, how would you be able to avoid the Scouts, after having been one of them most of your life? They all thought you were dead, so it wouldn’t hurt any of you if they kept thinking that, right? You could pretend to be someone else, change your life and have the happy ending you deserved. Nobody would have to know, except for your parents, of course.
You couldn’t wait to see and hug them again. You would take care of Lily all together in the back of your house, you’d take her on a ride in the early morning and in the late afternoons, feed her and then help your parents bake and sell the goods, you would be normal again.
You were so lost in your own thoughts, you almost didn’t notice the huge walls appearing in the distance: you’d made it! You had defeated a pack of Titans all by yourselves and gotten out of it alive!
Joy filled you as you kept your slow pace, not wanting to tire out Lily too much.
After what felt like hours, you had reached the small entrance that separated the inner lands from the outer ones. It was small enough so that the river could pass through and a big gate blocked the entrance from small animals.
The only problem now was getting inside the Walls. As Sundown approached, painting the sky with magnificent violet and red hues, you got an idea. The gate was strong and thick, even though it was old, so you couldn’t possibly try to break it, but it certainly didn’t go too much deep, and, being old, the river must’ve dug its bed lower, so there was a slim chance you could get in by swimming under it.
You didn’t have any other choice: even if you would’ve wanted the Scouts’ help, you should’ve followed the Walls and keep walking for hours or maybe even days, and you were nor in the right state to do it nor would you risk another encounter with the Titans.
You got off Lily and immersed yourself in the cold water. You couldn’t touch the bottom, so this could mean one out of two things: you were either going to drown, or you would have enough space to swim under the gate and get successfully inside the Walls.
It wasn’t the time to dwell, so, without wasting any time and trying not to think about the first possibility, you took a deep breath and ducked under the water surface.
Immediately, you felt a strong current pushing you in the opposing direction, but with the small strength you had left, you grabbed a rock from the river bed and used it to push yourself towards the gate.
You swiftly took note of how quickly your lungs were running out of oxygen, you had to be fast, otherwise, you would’ve drowned or had to go back to the surface.
Shaking your head as determination flowed in your veins, you kept swimming towards the bottom of the river, until you were able to get a stable grip on the sharp rocks and advance by using them as holds.
Not after long, your head hit a metallic bar. Sh!t, you thought, the gate went far deeper than you’d imagined. As the rough metal cut through your skin like a sharpened knife on butter, you broke the barrier and resurfaced on the other side of the walls.
You were finally safe! You were brought back to reality when you heard a familiar neigh: good god, how were you going to let Lily pass? You hadn’t thought about it before, but you certainly couldn’t leave her outside. Titans may not devour animals, but it would be like losing your best friend, and that had already happened in the past few days, so you couldn’t endure the pain again, this time knowing it was fully your fault.
Nobody was around, but after getting completely out of the freezing waters, you saw a small metal piece, almost like a locket, holding the gate in place from the inside.
Eureka! Ignoring the pain in your scraped back, you reached for the locket and destroyed it with a nearby piece of wood. You then proceeded to open the gate just barely enough so that Lily could pass. Thankfully, your smart and brave horse had realized your intentions and was already in the water, waiting for you to guide her inside the Walls.
After you’d successfully gotten her inside, you closed the gate with a loud clang! And managed to lock them in place with some wood and rocks in the area.
Once you were on solid ground, an almost hysterical laugh broke out, your eyes tearing up from all the pain you’d endured both physically and mentally.
You hugged Lily tightly, as if she would’ve escaped and left you otherwise. Pressing your face in her wet mane, you calmed down and relaxed, preparing yourself for another couple of hours of riding.
Just as you thought you would have to wait another couple of days before getting back to your family, a familiar voice stopped you in your tracks: “Y/n, is that you?”
Turning around, you recognized the elder woman standing just feet from you. She wore a long maroon skirt and white long-sleeved shirt, the usual rope tightened around her waist in order to keep the outfit from falling apart. She had the same old black leather boots, stained with so much dirt they almost looked brown, her grey hair was intertwined in two long braids and, atop of her crinkled forehead, rested an embroidered red headband, gift from her spouse, also dirty with flour and all the ingredients you used in a bakery.
Oh, you’d never tell it to her face but how you missed your mother! “Mom?”
“Aw sweetie!” She ran towards you, the sack of dirty clothes long forgotten on the river’s shore, hugging you so tightly you thought she was going to squeeze you to death.
“Goodness have I missed you! The Lord must’ve heard my prayers and sent you back to me! Oh I knew you weren’t dead, you wouldn’t have ever left us without saying goodbye!” She said, breathing in your wonderful smell of sewer and blood.
“Well, I don’t know how much your Lord has to do with my return, though I must say this, I’m glad to be back.” You admitted, reciprocating her hug.
You spent a few seconds in silence, until you remembered you had broken probably a couple of bones all over your torso and had a very pretty gash on your side, right where your mother was hugging you from where blood started spilling like milk from a pregnant cow’s breasts.
“Ahh fudge!” You dropped to your knees in pain, hugging your lower abdomen to try to contain the bleeding.
“Oh my Goodness Y/n! What happened?” Your mother exclaimed, kneeling beside you.
“A pack of Titans and that stupid gate happened.” You hissed, clenching your teeth.
“Wait here, I have some rags with which I can wrap your wounds.” She ran back to the bag of dirty clothes.
“It’s not like I was just about to run away…”
“Here, take this in your mouth or you’ll risk biting your tongue, I’m sorry if it stings a bit.” She offered you an old sweater, starting to wrap a white sheet over your torso.
You wanted to yell, but with that stupid fabric only muffled strangled sounds came out.
Sting?! Seriously, what injuries was this lady used to? This didn’t sting, it felt like your skin was being ripped from your body and then sewn back together!
Right when she finished, a wave of nausea hit you and you vomited whatever you had left in your stomach into the flowing river.
You were only barely half-conscious as your mother got you back on top of Lily and brought you to your house, where you were fell asleep in a matter of seconds, scratch that, milliseconds.
You woke up to your mom cleaning your face with a wet cloth and whispering sweet nonsense to your not-anymore-sleeping figure. You didn’t get up, but you could see the sun shining through the open window.
“How long have I been out for?” You asked, voice hoarse.
“Since we last met? Half a day. In total? 5 days.” She gave you a cup of water which you took gratefully.
“What?” You spit all the water from the shock. After you’d fought the Titans, you’d been unconscious for four days? You really had to give Lily a sweet treat after all she’d done for you.
Reading your mind with her mother powers, she reassured you: “Don’t worry, Lily’s fine. Your father fed her this morning and I helped clean up her wounds.”
You smirked victoriously, falling back on the bed.
“What? Why are you smiling?” Your mother asked you, sitting beside you on the linen sheets.
“You called my horse by her given name. It’s the first time I’ve ever heard you say it.” You told her. Your mother had a…rocky relationship with pets, especially horses. She didn’t like them because they were constantly stinky and dirty and made nothing but messes wherever they went in home areas.
“I never hated pets, you know. I just…”
“Couldn’t stand them?” You offered to complete her sentence, receiving a newspaper in the head.
“Ouch, okay sorry. I’ll let you finish.” You said, caressing your head where you felt a couple of stitches that weren’t there before.
“You’re right, but she did save you after all. You might be one of the most skilled, if not the most skilled soldier in the entire country, but I realize you couldn’t have done that without a loyal friend.” She said, earning a confused look from you as you tried to look into the real meaning of what she’d said.
“So I guess you know.” She knew about to the whole Hange and Levi Squad breaking.
“We had a funeral, for you, a couple of days back. They were all invited of course, and they told me what happened.” She explained, but only then did you realize how much your ‘death’ had influenced her. Her eyes held a mix of sadness, grief and another emotion you couldn’t quite put the finger on.
Nonetheless, you hugged her, or at least nuzzled your face into her neck, still unable to properly move your limbs.
“I’m very angry with them, you know. I may not know how you’ve felt, what you still may feel, but I realize they’ve been complete assholes to you, leaving my poor baby without looking back to save themselves. Such selfish pricks! Oh, and how they went against your back! I’m sure that Natasha chick must be a part of this. You need to go tell them they’ve acted like little sh!ts to you and need to earn your forgiveness.” She said, getting angrier with every word she spat. Perhaps you did know, after all, what that other emotion was.
“Hey mom, calm down. I’m here now, so don’t you worry about the what ifs or whatever.” You reassured her, taking a big breath before adding: “Besides, I don’t think I want to go back there. Not…ever.”
You looked down at your wrapped up hands in defeat: what would she think of you? A soldier that quits her job simply because of a minor inconvenience, a small problem that occurred in delicate times?
You didn’t expect, however, the big bear hug she took you in, sniffling quietly and telling you: “You may be confused right now, but it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve heard these days, right after your laugh that yesterday led me to finding you. You’ll understand once you’re a mom too.”
You smiled, a few tears running down your scarred face: “Now slow down, who told you I’m ever going to become a mom?”
“Mother instincts.” She laughed off, getting out of your view to let your father hug you.
“Dad!”
“Y/n you’re finally awake. Blimey I’ve missed you.” He responded.
“Yeah, I know. Me too.” You said, getting out of the tight hug to rest.
“You don’t know how much surprised and happy I was when your mother came back from cleaning the clothes at the river yesterday with you on Lily! I thought I was in a dream, but once I saw you, I knew it was true. You’ve been saved by a miracle.” He said.
“And by your extraordinary skills as a warrior.” Your mother added, beaming proudly.
“Yes yes, that too, obviously!” You’d never sen your father this excited but hey, he did just get the news that his lost daughter was alive and well.
“I’m very happy to be finally here with you, mom and dad. Though I need to tell you something.” You started, getting their attention. You then explained how you wanted to stay hidden, let everyone else still think you were dead in order to start a new life. You offered to become their foster kid, an orphan they’d adopted to replace their daughter with because the loss had hit them too hard. You would’ve worn a mask for precaution, but you knew that, with your scars and perhaps a new haircut and different clothing, nobody would recognize you anyway. You would live here, in the house above the bakery and work downstairs in the food-making process, this way, you wouldn’t have to go out too much and risk being recognized by someone.
Your parents, even though reluctantly, swore to be by your side, always, even if it meant keeping you a secret and lying when other people were involved.
Then, they left you to sleep and the sounds of birds chirping and wind blowing through the treetops, while downstairs the bakery was being reopened after days of mourning break, lulled you to a deep and dreamless slumber.
TIME-SKIP
You were kneading the bread dough, putting all your strength in the folds. You didn’t have the same muscles as you did when you were in the Scouts, but you weren’t weak either. The thought reminded of all the time spent training with your old companions, and you felt nostalgic. They may have acted bad to you and you may not have been able to forgive them, but you hadn’t seen them in a year and a half, having to start over your entire life. Even if you would’ve wanted to rejoin the Scouts, due to all your scars and injuries, you couldn’t have. Your injuries were far more than you could count, from the face scar to the gashes on your back and a broken ankle, those had all healed, with the right amount of rest and medicines, but you had also suffered from a few broken ribs, which had probably came in contact and perhaps scratched your lungs, as your mother, an ex-doctor, had told you. You obviously kept your promise of taking Lily out for a ride once or twice a day, but you couldn’t go on runs anymore, and many days you felt kind of…useless. You always reminded yourself you were doing it for your benefit, but many what ifs wandered in your mind whenever you weren’t focusing on a designated task. That’s why you kept working hard everyday, both on the rehab and the new job as a baker, at which you could proudly say to have become great. Sometimes, thinking about your past life, you wondered what was up with your old friends. You’d heard Levi and Natasha had gotten in a bad fight and broken up roughly weeks after your ‘death’. Turns out, the chick only wanted to be with him for the fame and everything, so, when he questioned her about it, she got angry with him, painting herself the victim in the story because ‘her own boyfriend didn’t trust her’. You felt sorry for your old Captain, but nothing else. The love you’d harbored for years had almost vanished, leaving you to ask yourself if it had ever been real.
Almost, because, whenever he came with his Squad to eat at the bakery, you could feel your heart beat faster and your breath come in shorter than usual.
After your death, presumably as a way to cope and remember you, they’d started to go to breakfast every Sunday at your parents’ bakery, eating and chatting loudly in the room next to where you were currently working. Only a small wall wooden door separated you from your past life, yet you’d swore to yourself you’d never cross it, and nor did you intend to. A small part of you wanted to go greet them, tell them you were alive, become friends again and have your old life back. But you refrained from doing so, still hurt from your friends’ words and actions from the days before you’d left. If one person had been able to turn them all against you, it meant they weren’t real friends and, as your mom repeated you almost every night, they didn’t deserve you. You deserved someone that could treat you well, but you could only find your soulmate by going to new places; however, since you weren’t both mentally and physically ready to do so, you’d just have to wait for a bit, be patient a little longer.
You were so lost in your own Wonderland, you didn’t realize your mother was sneaking up on you, offering you a freshly baked small milk loaf. “Eat Y/n, or else you won’t have the strength to properly knead the dough.”
“Are you saying I’m not doing it right?” You asked, mocking an offended expression.
“You know that your clients have almost doubled since I took over the kitchen, right?” You said.
“Yeah, yeah, I know sweetie. You’re the best in anything you like to do.” She kissed the top of your forehead.
You opened your mouth wide, keeping your focus on your current task, your mother taking the hint and shoving the piece of sweet bread in your mouth, leaving the rest for herself.
A loud voice suddenly boomed from the other room, where the clients were dealt with by your kind yet austere mother. “Good morning Miss Y/Ln!”
You recognized it right away: it belonged to your ex-best friend, Hange Zoe. After Levi, she was the one that had taken your death the hardest, probably blaming herself for how she’d acted towards you. As your mother had told you, much like Levi, she had grieved much and mourned your death, closing in on herself from her friends and family and overworking herself. You kind of felt bad for her, but you also knew it wasn’t your fault for having been treated poorly, sacrificed your future to save others and then finally aspired to a better life.
“Hello Hange! Wait a minute my dear, I’ll be there soon!” Your mother yelled, still munching on her breakfast.
“Don’t worry Miss! Me and the guys are going to take our spot at the usual table, you can come whenever you’re ready.” Hange answered with her usual joyfulness. After months of avoiding any kind of interpersonal relationship, she’d finally opened up, starting to spend a lot of time with Levi in order to help each other heal from your passing.
Your mother sent you a sorrowful look, to which you responded with an encouraging nod. After all that time, you didn’t hate your friends anymore, but you surely didn’t want to meet them again and ruin all the progress and hard work you’d done to get used to the new life and feel better.
Without a word, she went to get the newly-arrived clients’ orders, leaving you to punch angrily your dough, a very efficient way to relieve yourself from all the stress and negative feelings.
You were putting some batches of cupcakes in the oven, when you overheard Hange say, from the other room: “Miss, we’d really like to go tell the baker in person how good the breakfast tasted.”
“Now don’t you worry Hange! I’ll tell my husband you’ve appreciated the meal, you don’t have to bother going in yourself.” Your mother tried to stop your friends from entering the room where you were currently working.
It had happened a couple of times before, and usually, Hange left at that point, acknowledging somebody had to work and couldn’t be interrupted by a bunch of clients who simply wanted to compliment him.
You didn’t think much of it, not even bothering to put on your mask for precaution.
However, that morning didn’t exactly go as usual, as Hange kept insisting: “No Miss, I have to insist. Besides, we all really want to know how her father is doing after…you know.”
Your mother chuckled, panicking internally: “Ohh, you kids are so sweet! But, you know, her father isn’t actually in there, he went in town to buy a few bags of flour and sugar. Anyways, it’s been a year and a half, so we’re all better now, thank you for your concern.”
Nonetheless, Gunther also started insisting: “Miss, what are you hiding? You never let us get into that room and, how come there’s noise coming from it if there’s nobody inside?”
Your mother was running out of ideas right now, but you didn’t realize how fragile of a situation this was, all your attention on decorating some pastries that had just finished cooking.
She tried to explain herself: “Oh Gunther, you nosy kid! What could we possibly be hiding? No, there isn’t anybody in there, the noise is coming from the…the oven! There are some cupcakes baking and a batch has already finished cooking, I can go grab some for you if you’d like.”
“Why won’t you let us get inside?” Erd and Petra spoke up.
“There’s just…there’s a lot of chaos and the whole kitchen’s a mess, I’m a bit embarrassed because I haven’t had time to clean in a while.” Your mother felt cold sweat trickling down her temples, putting herself in front of the wooden door to block the entrance.
“We can help you clean!” Oluo proposed, earning a nod of approval from Hange and small glares from the rest of the team.
“No, don’t worry. There’s no need…” Your mother was barely able to finish the sentence as an angry Levi stormed inside the kitchen, wanting to check what was up with this mysterious room.
What he didn’t expect to see, was a familiar head of h/c hair.
Confused, he stepped further in the room, finally getting your attention as you turned to look what was happening.
His silvery gray eyes bored into your soul with a mix of shock, grief, sadness and something else you couldn’t quite recognize.
He looked…different. His formerly neat and combed hair was slightly disheveled, giving him a kind of messy look which didn’t exactly look good on him. His eyes held the biggest eye-bags you’d ever seen, his once perfectly smoothed and clean clothing was a bit wrinkly and dirty and the usual disinterested elegance and perfection of his demeanor was now muffled by a new tired and grieving one. To sum up, he looked the worst you’d ever seen him in your entire life.
However, his voice was the same, that attractively serious and scolding tone you’d learned to both love and hate.
“Y/n…” He breathed, as if seeing you had taken all the air out of his lungs.
You tried to speak, you really did. But words simply wouldn’t come out of your dry throat. No sounds came out of you as you looked around the room helplessly, in search of something you didn’t even know what it was.
In a swift motion, he reached out to grab your hand, yet you visibly refrained from his touch on instinct. For what felt like hours, you simply stood there, acknowledging the other’s presence, while your friends stood wordlessly by the open door and your mom watched carefully what was happening, making hypothesis on how the scene would evolve.
For the first time ever, Levi was the first one to break the ice: “Why?” His voice was broken and hurtful, as if he’d been the one left to die by his own friends.
“I don’t have to explain myself to you, do I guys?” You said, all the suppressed anger coming out at once, as you recalled the sentence with which everything had started.
“Are you still mad at us for that? It happened like a year and a half ago!” Petra suddenly spoke up.
“You left me to die! I was alone!” You said, wishing to be out of there.
“You chose to sacrifice yourself for us! It’s not like we forced you.” Erd added.
“What was I supposed to do? Leave everybody to die! Besides, you have no right to be mad at me.” You responded. What could they hold against you? That you’d been a wonderful friend? That they’d left you and said they were tired of you yet you saved them nonetheless? That you had wanted a new life for yourself after they’d ruined your first one?
“She’s right.” Hange sighed, not tearing her gaze from you. Knowing you better than anybody else, she had sensed you were hurt and were still angry at them.
“We’ve been sh!itty friends, Y/n. We know it, and, what we’re trying to say is…we’re sorry. We truly are…” She added.
“Thank you, Hange. But don’t think this changes anything.” You spat, clenching your fists so hard blood started dripping from the sweaty palms of your hands.
She nodded, stepping out of the room. Perhaps, many would have seen it differently, but you appreciated that gesture. She was giving you time and space to recollect yourself, get back to the right state of mind with which you could make reasonable decisions, thinking about the consequences of what you spoke.
The others imitated her, and you felt your heart beat slow down, even if just of a beat.
However, there was one who seemed to have no intention of stepping away and backing down, instead keeping his ground as the brave Captain he’d always been. Nonetheless, in his eyes, stood no courageousness or mock bravery whatsoever. Those small eyes were the reflection of his soul, filled with a sense of abandonment and loneliness and hurt, but also discipline, for he knew it was only him and his actions that had brought him to this.
“You’re angry, as you should be. However, you were the one to tell me that pushing down and hiding your feelings would do nothing but make them bigger. Let it out.”
And so you did.
You yelled, and you yelled and you yelled. Screaming to the whole world how much you’d suffered and went through because of them. You screamed about how you’d come home broken and devastated, unable to even think about going back to the life you once lived. You told them how you’d hated them for their actions and would never be able to forgive them. You told them about how you had started to hate their guts, especially Natasha’s but also your’s. You told them how you’d never been able to see yourself the same, after all the scars you wore both physical and psychological. You yelled until your lungs ran out of air and your throat felt like it was on fire, yet even then you kept talking. Whispering how much you’d grown and gotten better without their help, how it had been difficult to start over but you’d done it nonetheless, for it was what was best for you and they all knew it.
You didn’t know when or how, but as tears started streaming down your face, as your knees became wobbly and unable to support your own weight, he was there. He didn’t say anything, his worried and troubled expression never once leaving his beautiful features, but he was there to wipe your tears, he was there to fall to his knees with you and then pick up up again, he was there to listen at you screaming at him how much of an assh0le he’d been. He was there for you.
Once you’d calmed down, he hugged you, tighter than you’d ever been hugged, tighter than you thought was possible. Without thinking about it twice, you encircled your arms around him, nuzzling your face in his neck and weeping in his shoulder as he did the same with you, finally breaking of his cold and emotionless walls and letting you see for yourself his vulnerable side, the one he’d kept hidden to everyone for all his life since the death of his mother, because that was how he’d learned to go through his problems: shutting up himself in his own barriers and not letting anyone near him.
After a while, you let go of him, and you saw his red and puffy eyes, his cheeks wet from all the tears.
“I’m sorry for having left you, but I don’t regret it.” You said, smoothing out your skirt as you went to get out of the bakery, wanting, no…needing a break from all of it.
“Please Y/n, wait.” You heard him say. That didn’t stop you though, as you grabbed your coat, ready to get out of here and never have to see their faces again.
“Wait Y/n!” He yelled, making you stop, your eyes trained on the ground in front of you as all your former companions and your mother had left a corridor free for you in order to let you get out undisturbed.
“Why should I?” You asked through gritted teeth.
“Because I love you!” He screamed, taking a shaky breath and running a hand through his messy hair.
In an instant, you turned around to face him and grabbed him by the collar with a menacing scowl on your face. “Then prove it! Leave your life, quit your job and come live here with me. You could finally be at peace and have the happy ending you deserve.”
He stared back at you, eyes wide with horror, observing your every movement as you let go of him and took a step back, waiting for his answer.
“You know I can’t.” He breathed, shoulders slumping with defeat.
“Then don’t expect me to wait for you.”
STOP HERE FOR BITTER-SWEET ENDING. FOR HAPPY ENDING, KEEP READING
10 years had passed. 10 years since the destroying of Wall Maria and the start of the war against the Titans and then Marley. 10 years since you’d lost your friends. 10 years since you’d risked your life for them. 10 years since you’d had to start over with your life. One year less since your friends and the love of your life had suddenly come back in your life, only to leave you again for something much bigger than any of them could control.
In all that time, you hadn’t heard from Levi. You kept telling yourself you didn’t care, but deep down, your heart always dreamt of his return, somehow knowing he was still alive and that he’d come back to you right after all this war was over with.
And so, more unconsciously than the opposite, you waited patiently for him, waiting and waiting and waiting again, sat at the armchair on your porch every evening through hot and cold, sick and healthy, busy and free, angry and happy.
It was a casual Tuesday evening, the same as many that had passed and many that were to come. As usual, you ate your dinner with your parents, finished cleaning up the bakery, made yourself a cup of tea as he used to do every night, your own way of remembering him, and sat down on your old, rusty and used armchair.
Your gaze drifted with the wind to the horizon. It was a beautiful evening with a beautiful sky, a mix of vivid colors reverberating through the atmosphere as a cool soft breeze eased your senses.
Your thoughts went back to the day you’d found him and lost him again, as they always did, like that memory held some kind of magnetic force of attraction that pulled at your mind continuously. It had been very hard to recover from that day, feeling the wounds in your heart and soul open again with lacerating pain. You knew you couldn’t have closed them or sewed them like you’d done with your physical scars, so you’d learned to live with them, keeping them as a constant reminder of what you’d been through, but also of the possibility of what could happen, the small hope he could come back and you’d finally get to spend the rest of your days with the love of your life.
“Hello.” A voice broke you out of your daydream, and suddenly, you felt at Scouts all over again, when you used to zone out thinking about a certain Levi almost every day.
Confused, you slowly turned to whom had interrupted you.
Finally, your dreams had come true, all your waiting repaid as Levi stood in front of you with the help of a pair of crutches, scarred and changed, yet always the same to you.
You sighed, a loving expression on your face as you arose from your seat.
“I have been waiting for you.”
“I know.” He simply told you, encircling your figure with a bear hug.
“I missed you old man.” You told him, pressing you ear over to his heart, glad to hear his heartbeat. Wow, he was actually there, you thought.
“I know.” He said again.
“Is that all you’ve got to say for the love of your life?” You asked him jokingly. You understood he would have needed help to recover from the war, both from the physical and psychological wounds, and you would help him heal, of course you would. However, nobody knew how much you’d missed him, how much your heart had longed for him, weeping silently when nobody was around and the only one to listen to your prayers was the moon.
“I love you.” He said, hugging you even tighter, to the point you could feel all his bones crashed against you.
“I love you too” You nuzzled further into shoulder, as you both started weeping silently, the air thick with unspoken feelings and emotions.
After a while, you finally broke the hug, saying: “Hey, now we can match!”
He raised his left eyebrow in mild confusion as he followed you to the inside of your house, waiting for you to explain yourself.
“With the scars, duh.”

You stand there, looking at them.
Or is it them looking at you?
Awash in tender light, on the precipice of something rare and uncharted, it's hard to think. Because you are here, but not as you once before. Your lips still taste Erwin’s lips; your waist still bears Levi's grip. The air vibrates with what was shared, a charged current that sees you not as princess or guard, but as equal conspirators in this evening.
You’re the first to break this estranged silence. It starts with a step forward, then another. You reach for Levi's shirt first, knowing that Erwin is next in your little game.
Levi's hand stops you short.
"Princess."
An intensity falls across Levi's features then; a scowl forms on yours. Without saying a word, he tilts his head sideways, cocking it like he was assessing you. His hands fall on your waist. Before you know it, you're being whirled around, and the air is taken out of your lungs as you fall onto your bed.
"What the devil are you—" you protest.
But Levi interrupts you with a grunt. He bends down and grabs your chin, leveling your gaze with his own.
"That isn't how this works, Princess. Tonight is about you. Tonight, your pleasure is ours." You gape a little. His eyes darken, making your insides twist with teetering excitement. "You wished for that, didn't you? To know what sodding pleasure is?"
The reminder of your confession makes you feel warm all over. You gulp, the knot bobbing against Levi's thumb, and your eyes stray to Erwin.
"Typical, looking at him for reassurance." Levi slides away, kneeling on one knee. He begins to unlace your boots. "What did I tell you, Erwin?"
The mattress shifts; Erwin has found his spot close to you. His calloused fingers stroke the valley of your cheek, an offer of tenderness in the midst of all this tension. "Oh, I don't know, Levi. You didn't see the way she was looking at you just now. Properly besotted, I think." He leans closer, his breath fanning over the ridge of your nose. "Aren't you besotted, beloved?"
Erwin's newfound nickname for you, beloved, turns your insides to mush. You manage a nod well enough, but your brain blanks.
"You'll let us treat you right, won't you?" Erwin asks. His cologne—musky and vibrant—are all you can smell. "To show you the meaning of pleasure?"
Your eyes flutter, breath caught in the middle of your chest. "I..."
"And if there's something that displeases you, you need only say the word."
"Yes."
You know your response comes out overeager, giddy, like a schoolgirl on the precipice of receiving sweets. Erwin pays it no mind. He takes to nuzzling your neck, murmuring against your skin, "Precious girl. What a precious girl you are."
This time, you do whine a little, your core blooming with heat. Intoxicating, the kind of warmth that makes you squeeze your tights together in fear of it escaping. It only deepens as Erwin's large hands drag over your belly, stabilizing you into a half-seated position that allows him full jurisdiction over your neck. There, he lays out kisses that spark embers in their wake.
"Erwin," you choke, fingers fiddling with the fabric of your nightgown.
In response, Erwin hums, the sound of which buzzes into your brain, as if telling you that yes, we want you and you push further against him, yes, please, I want you both.
Levi, done removing your shoes, moves to stroking your calves. You're wearing stockings that reach your knees, but Levi doesn't remove them; you feel his fingertips gently explore past them, making you gasp.
"You're so sensitive," you hear him tease, his touches circling upwards. A shudder wracks through your spine. "Figures.”
For once, you don’t come up with a clever reply.
Levi bunches your skirt, hitching it up to reveal bare skin. You feel blood rush across your body, all too aware just how exposed you are, how he’s this close to seeing all of you. Even Erwin's mouth on your neck—neither lacking in vigor or curiosity—isn't enough to distract you.
What if you can't do this after all?
Levi presses pecks across your inner thighs, his index hooking with your waistband and tugging it down. Your cunt is exposed, and your nerves wind tight. Instinctively, your free leg wraps around Levi's skull, twisting and squeezing to hide from him.
"Ssh, beloved," Erwin's voice soothes your ear. He's paused in his exploration, massaging your nape with his broad touch instead. "Do you want us to stop?"
"N-no. Just... jus nervous. Ignore me."
"You need to relax."
Erwin's right, of course. You're rigid as a tree, squeamish from all the new sensations and everything that lies ahead. You're surprised Levi hasn't told you off for squeezing his face.
"Just lean into me and let Levi show you just how much he's dreamed of this," Erwin ushers. Your thighs instinctively relax. You feel Levi press a scorching kiss on your inner thigh, as if praising you. "He's going to be gentle with you, I promise. You can do that for us, can't you?"
Still wound up, you manage a nod. Erwin hums, clearly content to see you so responsive to his words. He briefly breaks away as he grabs a pillow, tucking your head gently beneath it. He then finds his spot next to you again, his broad hand dragging over the expanse of your nightgown, his warm breath fluttering against your cheek.
By now, Levi's finger pads are almost on your cunt. He doesn't say anything, but you think you hear him inhale sharply, just as his eyes briefly flickers to meet yours. His pupils are blown black. Without saying a word, he bunches your nightgown further up, and when you tilt your head up to watch with bated breaths, the look in his eyes is that of a man in a trance.
You're bare for him—for them.
"I... I do not know if it is adequate," you confess, throwing your head back and staring at the ceiling. "I didn't... I didn't think—"
"Shh." Erwin presses a kiss to your temple. "Don't even think about that. You're perfect."
Erwin's words still aren't enough to completely appease you. You press your palms into your eyes, shifting nervously. What if Levi hates what he sees? What if he dislikes the hair and the sensation and—
Levi’s mouth falls on your sex.
You gasp—a sharp hiccup that tangles with Erwin’s ragged breath in your ear.
This is... not what expected.
No, when Levi got on his knees, you expected fingers, similarly to the way you touch yourself at night when all you dreamed of was absolution in this. Instead, Levi has given you something more, something you never thought would be yours to experience.
And it makes your heart race.
Before you know it, Levi parts you with his tongue, warm and deft, and your calves are thrown over his shoulders, where he steadies you for the onslaught of pleasure he gives unabated.
Erwin's hands, too, have wandered, removing your garment far enough to expose your collarbone. His large fingers subtly draw shapes over your skin, like he was using your flesh as a canvas. He starts from your shoulder blades, and draws ever closer to your right breast, while his mouth remains sewn to the tendon on her neck, devotion on his tongue. You feel your nipples harden, watching as Erwin briefly retracts and his gaze flickers towards you.
His fingers stop short. "May I touch you?"
You can only nod, a buildup blooming at your core that's making it hard to think, both because of Levi's delicious licks and the way Erwin is staring at you right now. You squirm, your insides aching. Erwin's giant hand carefully slides under your chemise, tracing a path over the swell of your breast, then cupping it. A soft moan slips out of you, undeterred, and your fingers tangle with whatever fabric you find within reach until you find yourself pulling the fitted sheets loose.
"You like that, beloved?" Erwin purrs.
"Y-yes."
As if fuelled by your sweetness, Levi's tongue changes rhythm, a teasing motion that lights you up. Your whine comes out desperate, in a series of hiccups.
"Feel that, beloved? How much Levi aims to please you?" Erwin murmurs. "How long he's waited?"
The thought sends a new wave of pleasure over you, like sparks igniting beneath your skin. Against Levi, you arch back, surprised by the magnitude of your reaction, your breath catching in your throat like a bird in a cage. With delirium in your veins, your next movements are mechanical: you roll your hips, attempting to follow Levi's tongue and chase the spot you most crave. It only seems to ignite something in Levi, who licks and explores with a maddening sweep of his tongue, and grabs your thighs with a bruising grip. Long fingers on bare, flaming skin are all you can feel.
"Er-w-win, I'm not sure how to-," you confess, the knot in your core growing tighter. There’s butterflies swimming at the front of your brain, and your hands feel clammy. "I've never, not in front of anyone..."
With his free hand, Erwin brushes back your sweaty forehead, pressing a kiss on your cheek. "Just let it go, beloved. Focus on the sensation."
"B-but, I don't... I don't know that I... what if—"
Before you know it, the pleasure stops. You snap your attention to the edge of the bed. Levi has slipped away, his gray eyes boring straight into you. There's a layer of shine dripping down his lips and chin—remnants of you.
The world stops moving right at that moment. You want to grab Levi into a searing kiss; you want to get lost in this forever.
Instead, you’re beckoned by Levi’s curt voice. "Princess, breathe." Prowling like a cat, Levi comes close, his slender fingers cupping your too-warm cheeks. "Between these walls, nothing else matters. Just us."
You clings to his hand, mulling those words over. The truth behind your short existence.
For so long, life has felt like an ever-ending fight. A princess of the realm, destined to never be enough. Always running, always trying to catch up and meet the impossible standards placed on your shoulders. Proving to yourself—to your father and to all his subjects— that you deserved your position. That you were just as deserving as a man, that you deserved a seat at the table. Doing all of that... and somehow always failing.
But this, right now... it is no failure. You are enough. Erwin and Levi have given you wings of your own, willing you to the sun, and you feel like you're all soaring through the sky together. Tasting the clouds, the air, the freedom.
"Just us," you repeat, squeezing his hand tighter.
Just you and Levi and Erwin. Your two loyal knights, your friends.
Your lovers.
Satisfied by your reassuring grip, Levi's stare flickers towards Erwin, whose fingers are laid on the bud of your breast like it was a flower amongst a field of green.
"Levi," Erwin's voice is sweet like honey, "come here."
In response, Levi's brows knit together, but he does as he is bid. With Erwin’s fingers still massaging your breast, Levi and Erwin exchange a brief kiss, quick and messy and wet. Your eyes flutter at the sight, warmth spreading through your torso.
When Levi pulls away, it is to roll his eyes. "You're so obvious, you dolt."
Erwin's voice is husky, almost needy. "She does taste wonderful, doesn't she? Just as we always dreamed she would."
"Yeah."
Levi doesn’t look at you as he kneels back down at the edge of your world. Your eyes search for an answer in Erwin, but the latter only flashes you an easy smile that makes it quite clear you heard them correctly.
Just as they always dreamed?
"Erwin—"
But already, you're silenced as Levi's mouth descends between your legs again, this time with added pressure, with increased reverence. He starts with the same circling motion with his tongue, only to move down.
Oh.
Instead of lavishing your vulva as he had done before, Levi's tongue has plunged into you, precise and deadly. Your mouth parts, and he shifts, edging in further in. A flash of white builds through your vision.
Oh, indeed.
"There, do you feel how desperate Levi is to please you?" Erwin murmurs, the smell of his cologne enveloping you again. It makes your mouth water, makes your tongue pant in breathy huffs to taste it. "He loves nothing more than to show you."
In response, you stifle a whimper, biting down on your knuckles, self-conscious on the lewd noises coming out of you. Your hips continue to chase gratification all the same, rolling with clumsy movements, one desire stringing you along: more, more, more. Pleasure is guided by Levi's vice grip of your thighs, rocking his movements back and forth—between this and Erwin kissing your neck, you know you won't last long.
"Don't silence yourself," Erwin says, no—pleads. "Not here, not with us."
And then, Erwin pinches your nipple, hard, while his mouth sucks on the juncture between your neck and shoulder. At once, a shudder wracks down your spine, and you moan—long, hard, and loud.
You think you call out to them then.
You're abstractly aware of Erwin saying your name, but before you can say a thing, Levi's fingers slip into you, pumping into you and stretching you. The coil begins to tighten. Heat blooms everywhere—scorching white, erupting beneath every cell in your body, making you feel like the sun itself. It’s too much and not enough at the same time. You need more. More, more, more. Your blood seems to sing for those words— wanting them both closer, wanting them to consume you.
You never want to leave this room.
Levi slips a second finger inside. Curls it.
You gasp.
“Are you close?” Erwin murmurs.
“Y-yes, hah... I... just, I—“
“Need that last push?”
Toes curling behind Levi’s neck, you bite your lower lip, managing to puff out, “Uh-huh.”
“Levi, you heard our princess.”
Levi responds with a muffled groan. Your body trembles as his mouth falls to your cunt again, this time focusing on sucking the sensitive nub at the top. All the while, his fingers continue to slide in and out, rubbing against your pelvis. Your throat is dry like sand, the coil in your belly pressing against the edges of your mind. Levi’s ministrations are feverish and you are reduced to a babbling mess, rutting against him with desperation.
Erwin is there to guide you through it all. “Let it go, beloved.”
Just as Erwin gives his command, Levi's tongue flicks your clit in just the way you'd needed most right now, and the flames take you.
Your vision blurs.
At once, pleasure surges and claims its place between your bones. Your entire body shakes, your head flung back against the pillows, your fingers digging into the mattress, body writhing in the sheets. Levi’s grip tightens on you, his tongue soothing as your body spasms.
Holy Rose, Maria, Sina.
As you navigate this newfound high, you're vaguely aware of Levi licking and tasting and devouring. He tugs at the hems of your dress, groaning against you, like he was licking every inch of you, making out with your sex. Meanwhile, Erwin... Erwin is palming himself through his breaches, transfixed on the painting in front of him—on Levi, on you. His two lovers.
You gasp, knowing this moment will be scorched into your brain for all the ages to come.
When at last, Levi rises to his feet, the first thing you notice is that his cheeks are dusted pink. His lips are swollen and puffy…
Dark as a storm.
Levi wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, sitting on your opposite side. “How was that?”
“I think I saw our Gods.”
"Which ones?"
“All of them.”
“Dramatic.”
“It’s a compliment to you.” You consider throwing a pillow at Levi, just to score some petty points, but ultimately abstain from it. You turn to Erwin instead. “Tell me, is it… is it truly always so wonderful?”
You don't care how much of an ingenue you come across saying those words; the hearts in your eyes must give away just what this means to you.
“Sex is what you make it.” Erwin chuckles, brushing a strand of hair out of your face. “It is not always about reaching your own end, or your partner’s. Ultimately, healthy communication is key, as is trust and enjoyment.”
“I see.” Your head slopes to the side, admiring Erwin’s aquiline nose, dotted with a constellation of freckles. His hand caresses below your belly button, making you shiver. “I suppose this is what you were both so busy with during your training as squires, huh?"
Erwin laughs. Levi clicks his tongue.
With renewed enthusiasm, you push yourself up by your elbows, glancing between them. How long had you wanted them like this? Years. Now, both of their gazes are on you, and the night has only begun.
“I know tonight is about me…” Your eyes briefly flicker to their groin areas, noticing the tent-like shape that has formed against the fabric of their clothes. Your mouth drools before you can help it; you quickly it down swallow and look back at them. “But what if I wish to please you too?”
They exchange a look, but it Levi who speaks up first. "Princess, we understand your want, but once you do this—"
"Virginity is a made-up construct, Levi. It is not real," you say, dismissing the notion altogether. "When I am queen, I will make sure to change that. In the meantime, I will decide what I do with my body." A pause, one where you tilt your head uncertainly. "Of course, if you do not wish to do this, that is another matter entirely. I would understand.”
"That's not what I meant," Levi says with clipped irritation.
"Your Highness, are you certain about this?" Erwin attempts to soften the blow. “Levi has a point—”
"I am perfectly certain of my own desires, yes."
Your conviction, or perhaps something in your stare, seems to convince them on your feelings on the matter. They go silent, look at each other one last time, and then Erwin chuckles softly. "Levi, why don't you lie next to her?"
"Yeah," Levi mutters. "She's gonna need me to guide her through it."
"Hey! I'm not some helpless damsel."
"Never said you were." Levi shoots you a look, sitting next to you. “Just put your stupid pride aside and take my help.”
Behind him, Erwin is unbuckling his belt, the sound of leather drawn tight. You wish it would all go faster.
You eye Levi. "But what are you going to do while he...?"
Levi answers by shifting closer to you. With a ragged breath, his slender finger reach for the buttons of your chemise. As he coaxes the last one to open, his eyes flicker to you. A silent question.
Heart stuttering, you nod. With his help, the garments come off. Now fully exposed to them, the reprieve you get of Levi briefly drawing back to fold your nightgown away is temporary; soon, you sense both their heated gazes on you. You cross your arms over your breasts, but Levi gently intertwines his hand with your own, moving to kiss your knuckles with added reassurance.
"I'll watch," Levi finally states.
You place a hand on his chest, feeling his heartbeat soaring away. Like fine marble, Levi's muscles would be worthy to be displayed in a museum. "Then... can I see you, too?"
Levi's eyes flutter. Silently, he does as you ask, unbuttoning his shirt slowly, though he omits to remove his undergarment.
Still, he's...
"Beautiful," you whisper, tentatively placing a hand over his chest bone.
Old scars criss-cross, forming paths of sinewy prowess. Feeling your probing, curious stare, the knot on Levi’s throat bobs. You place a kiss on his right cheek.
"You are beautiful, you know that?" you say, saccharine sweet.
Levi's lips curl. Pink graces his skin, flushing all the way to his neck. He folds his clothes to place them on the wardrobe nearby. It is only after he is back next to you, facial expression composed once more, that he speaks up, "What did I say? Corny."
The sound of Erwin’s laughter soothes your ears and beckons you both to stare at your second lover.
It is only then that you notice that Erwin is also entirely disrobed, save from his undergarment. His golden skin, a living tapestry of chiseled muscles and taut tendons, glows with a fierce vitality. A trail of golden hair that blazes a path from his navel downwards…
"So are you," you say to Erwin with a breathy tone, "beautiful."
"I'm glad you like what you see.” Erwin runs a hand to the back of his head, grinning sweetly. “You are, well—"
From across the room, Levi's gaze locks onto you.
"Divine," Erwin finishes.
You feel yourself grow hot, feeling their eyes admire your every curve, your every facet.
“Fuck, I can’t take this,” comes Levi’s voice, stomping back towards the bed. “You guys are nauseating to be around.”
You snort. “Then why are you red as a lobster?”
“Shut up.”
You and Erwin both burst into different fits of laughter, the feeling of which serves to soothe the nerves at pit of your stomach.
"What about you?" you ask Levi. "Don't you want him inside of you? Or the other way around?"
"No.” Levi's lips draw thin. “We're not doing that today."
"Why not?"
"I told you already, didn't I? Tonight's about you, Princess."
The way Levi says the word Princess has always meant something to you, something more than when that title indicates. Now, it elicits delicious frissons all across your skin. How things have changed...
Before you can say just as much, your peripheral catches a shift. Erwin has removed his underwear, and you turn.
Your throat instantly goes dry.
He’s… big.
Lacking these specific parts yourself, you lack a comparison. You've seen statues, of course, and caught accidental glances from salacious books left around by servant. Still, you're certain that Erwin is definitely above average.
No trifling matter, indeed.
“Hey, lie down,” Levi’s breath tickles your right ear. You can smell him—cotton and black tea, a scent that instantly grounds you. His eyes are heady and glazed when you look at him. “We’re gonna use your prayer oils to get you ready.”
"The oils?" You raise a brow. "Sure the Royal Sage would be thrilled to hear that."
"Yeah, well. What that old geezer doesn't know won't hurt him.'"
The oils do end up being put to good use. You watch as Erwin slides it along the contraceptive sheath he’s unravelled on his length, something he carries around ("You never know when... erm, the opportunity will arise." You laugh. Levi calls him a pervert, blushing from head to toe.). His broad hand strokes himself up and down, the sight of his muscles rendering him into some timeliness statue.
Meanwhile, Levi’s dipped two fingers into you, oil and all. The sensation of his fingers, cold and slender, makes you gasp again. Now that they're separated from the feeling of his tongue, you realize that his strokes are different from your own. Definitely addictive.
Levi’s baritone is like a cello on your skin. "He's big, you see. So you need to ease into it."
"That so?" you ask, lids twitching as you concentrate on the friction Levi is so generously bestowing onto you. Your hips twitch as he alternates between rubbing against your labia and slipping inside. “Does he… does he do that to you?”
"Mm. Takes forever to prep."
Before you can say a thing, Levi’s fingers curl, wedged deep inside of you. Your moan slips out before you can control it. “Gods.”
“Don’t call out to them,” Levi mutters. “They're not the ones touching you.”
“Hah, you call us corny? That was the cheesiest line in the books.”
In response, Levi slips in a third finger, making you whine. By the time you try to protest, Levi simply curls his fingers, increasing the speed of his ministrations, and you’re reduced to nonsensical words and breathless groans.
“Thought as much,” Levi’s satisfied tone bleeds in your ears.
You huff. Smug bastard.
“Look at you two,” Erwin says, tone oozing with tenderness. "What a sight."
When your gaze slides to Erwin once more, you feel your breath catch. He's still stroking himself, though his movements are more languid, slowed in urgency. His eyes are locked on you and Levi with an intensity that makes heat pool in your belly.
"What do you think?" Levi asks, his fingers still working inside you, stretching you with careful precision. The pool of warmth wracks through your body, all the way to your feet. "Think you're ready for him?"
You nod, not trusting yourself to speak. Levi withdraws his fingers, and you silently grieve the sudden emptiness.
You don't need to wait for too long, however, as Erwin soon approaches the bed, his powerful frame looming over you. The mattress dips beneath his weight as he positions himself between your legs. His hand cups your cheek, thumb tracing your lower lip.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Erwin asks you, voice feather-like.
“I am.”
“I’m going to go slow, but it might hurt in the beginning.”
“I'm ready.”
He's kneeling between your legs now, his broad shoulders taking up so much space you feel almost overwhelmed by his presence. His blue eyes, usually so commanding in public, now look at you with such tenderness you feel like your heart might burst.
"May I?" Erwin asks, ever the gentleman even as his arousal stands proud between his legs.
"Yes," you breathe, reaching for him. "Please."
Levi shifts beside you, his hand finding yours and squeezing. "Breathe," he reminds you, voice uncharacteristically soft. "And remember, we stop whenever you say."
Erwin positions himself at your entrance, the blunt head of him pressing against you. The oil makes everything slick, and you feel a momentary flutter of nervousness. But then Levi's lips are on your neck, and Erwin slowly enters you.
The stretch is immediate, a full sensation that edges on discomfort but never quite tips over. Erwin’s careful, painfully so, advancing the slightest then drawing back. You gasp at each new increment as he pushes further, feeling a kind of pressure that’s startling and strange yet strangely satisfying.
"You're doing so well," Erwin murmurs, pausing to let you adjust. His chest rises and falls with deep, controlled breaths.
Levi's thumb circles your palm, grounding you. "Halfway there," he whispers against your skin.
It doesn't hurt, not like you thought it might. There’s a moment where it pinches, but it’s brief. What you feel instead is an intense fullness—Erwin’s girth stretching you, filling you with more than you ever thought possible.
You turn towards your second companion, whose hard limb brushes against your hip as he kisses your collarbone.
"Levi, at least let me touch you," you mutter.
“Why?”
“I just really want to do that to you. Please.”
Levi shifts back, his eyes glinting. At first, you're certain he will refuse you, but finally, he acquiesces. His underwear comes off, and you watch him with parted lips.
Levi's cock is different from Erwin's. It's not as big, but still thick. And in your hands now, he’s so... hard.
With patience, Levi takes your hand and guides you along his length, showing you how to move up and down, how much pressure to apply. The first time you manage to do it right, following a thick vein with your thumb, his body twitches. With fascination, you watch him squeeze his eyes shut, his cheeks aflame. It makes you smile, makes you feel powerful.
“So, this was the secret all along,” you observe, movements going clumsy as you struggle to keep speech and action aligned. "All it took to shut you up was this?"
Levi groans. “You’re ruining the moment.”
Erwin laughs, the sound of it vibrating all the way to your core. Weird. “How are you feeling?”
With impatience now getting the better hold of you, you turn to him. “You can move now, ‘Win.”
"As you wish."
And indeed, Erwin does as his princess says. He finally begins to slowly drag his cock along your walls, pushing further in. You gasp, feeling yourself being stretched, feeling the way his length reaches in.
“It’s all about rhythm, you see,” Erwin explains as he pulls back, not enough to drag out completely, but enough to make you feel him. You whine, still adamant in maintaining a steady stroke on Levi, who shudders under your touch. “You want to start slow, then gradually build up. It takes a bit of practice, but”—he pushes back into you in one fluid motion, your body arches forward—“you catch on fast.”
Erwin's thrusts are addictive. This new position allowing him even deeper, even closer. Levi gasps as your hand matches Erwin's rhythm.
"Fuck," Levi says, sounding winded. "You’re so f-fucking... tight around him."
Another thrust and your eyes roll back. Levi grips your hand with his own, guiding you up and down his shaft, showing you how to increase the pressure. Before you can say a think, he seals his desire with a kiss.
Levi's tongue, Erwin's thrusts, are all you can feel. It feels incredible, feeling them like this, all the wet noises and groans and skin on skin. You feel triumphant surrounded by their bodies, knowing they are yours like you are theirs. The pleasure builds with each thrust, each stroke, until you think you might come apart at the seams.
“Look at you, Princess.” Levi’s words are ragged, his voice a blend of reverence and astonishment. “Taking him so well.” Your eyes flutter as Levi’s praise sends a rush of heat through you. "Fucking perfect."
"Gods."
As if caught in a delirium of his own, wanting to match his own vices, Levi places his free hand down, massaging your swollen clit. You gasp, scrabbling for desperation, the tight coil burning and bright.
"Levi," you whine. "S'too much, I can't, I-"
"You can take this." Levi's forehead is now pressed against yours, while he helps you stroke him, all the while revering your clit with his digits. "C'mon, Princess, I know you can."
And maybe it's Levi's needy tone hidden behind praises, maybe it's Erwin's unforgiving thrusts, but you want to believe them.
“There,” Erwin gasps, sweat glistening on his brow. Erwin has sped up, pushing you closer and closer to the edge. His muscles tense above you, veins pronounced against his skin. “Yes. Just like that—there you go, beloved. You're so perfect.”
“Ah—‘Win—Levi—I—”
"Let it go," Levi rasps.
And then, you shudder around Erwin, the heat of your climax making you go boneless. Levi’s name tumbles from your lips as his head dips against your shoulder, your joined hands still working him, and when you hear him let out a delicate, lovely moan, you realize he’s the first to come undone.
But then, with Erwin still moving inside of you, that wave pleasure crashes over you, and you feel your walls clamp down on him as you find your release again. Erwin thrusts into you one last time, breath ragged, and you feel the warmth of his own desire as he spills into you—his entire body shuddering beneath him.
You’re barely lucid, but you feel Levi collapsing on your right side, Erwin eventually doing the same on your left. You think you hear their voices, but everything is too bright and too blurry simultaneously, too many stars of white and gold dancing around you. Are you lucid right now?
When you finally blink your way back to reality, you find them on your bed, tending to you.
Levi wipes your forehead with a damp cloth while Erwin cleans your thighs.
"Drink this," Levi instructs, holding out a wooden cup.
You oblige, though not before catching another kiss from him. Levi seems surprised, but kisses you back, one hand on your waist. When you turn towards Erwin, there's fondness in his gaze as he slides his tongue in your mouth, pressing a comforting touch on Levi's neck. Together, the three of you say huddled together, up until Levi breaks apart and forces you to drink the water, followed by his orders to wash and get ready for bed.
When all is said and done, you find yourself in bed with them. The aftermath of your lovemaking has long since subsided, and your body aches from the pleasure and new sensation you just experienced. You're in the middle of them, all tangled limbs and sheet, and it is glorious. They're glowing from the afterglow, and you suspect that you are as well. The only light comes from a candle lit next to Erwin's side, but it is enough to dust them in specks of gold that makes you feel like you're in a dream.
"Is this what dying feels like?" you ask in the quiet of the night.
"More like living," Erwin smiles, brushing his hand through your hair. His touch is soft like butter. "How are you, beloved?"
"Perfect."
Levi clicks his tongue. "Too tired to be clever, I see."
You jab his side with an elbow, but it's without any real force. He raises a brow, the corners of his mouth twitching.
Erwin chuckles. "Looks like we did a good job, Levi."
"Yeah," Levi agrees, his tone losing its edge. He pressing himself in the pillow next to you. "Guess we did.”
As Erwin brushes safety into your scalp and you hug Levi from behind, curiosity gets the better of you.
"Are you all going to manage to fall asleep with me?"
"Obviously not," Levi mutters. "You're practically choking me here."
"Pff." You roll your eyes, but soften your grip all the same.
Levi's hand snakes to grip yours, pulling you back. "Who said you were allowed to stop?"
You snort, burying yourself into his back. "You're impossible."
Behind you, Erwin chuckles, but his soft massage on your scalp doesn't stop. Blindly, you reach for the hand that's free, pulling him closer so that it encapsulates both you and Levi. You happily sigh, basked in their scents, in their warmth.
"I wish we'd done this sooner," you confess, not knowing if you're overstepping with your words.
"So do we, beloved," Erwin says.
"Is it selfish that I never want this to end?"
For a moment, neither of them say anything. There's a shift in movements, but neither of them move positions.
"It's always been the three of us, hasn't it?" Erwin points out. "Ever since we were all young, dreaming and looking at the sun."
"Yeah."
"I can't speak on Levi's behalf but... when it comes to you and him, I for one want to be selfish."
The confession makes your heart race. Through it all, Levi is strikingly silent. Nervous he doesn't feel the same, you shift, heart thudding in the middle of your chest.
"Levi, you're not cross with me? If that's not how you feel, I don't want-"
"No." Levi cuts off. "What Erwin said is... right. Just... just didn't know to say it."
"Are you sure?"
There's another silence, where you feel the steady rise and fall of their chest against your body. You wait.
"We're yours, Princess," Levi says at last. Strikingly quiet. "Always."
Erwin squeezes Levi's hand. "Always."
"Always..." you sigh, eyes fluttering shut, "Sounds like a tale for the ages."
Erwin laughs, pressing a kiss to your back of your head. "Maybe it will be. Be sure to tell us how it should go."
And with that, Erwin shifts back, blowing out the last candle.
That night, you sleep soundly. Entangled in the warmth and protection of their bodies, you feel safe. You feel loved. You feel free.
It’s a wonderful place to be.
“Must you really go?”
With a pout on your face, you watch as Erwin and Levi gets dressed. Morning is in full bloom by now, and you can hear the sounds of the castle that signals servants are out and about. Soon, the rest of the royals and nobles will follow. Despite this, you sit up with no real urgency, clutching the sheets of your bed to your chest.
The dewy light filters into your chambers, painting the walls in soft, golden hues. For a moment, you simply watch as your guards move with quiet efficiency, Erwin fastening his cufflinks, Levi buckling his belt.
“We shouldn’t have stayed in the first place,” Levi quips. “If anyone noticed we were missing from our stations, it'd be trouble.”
“Levi’s right, beloved," Erwin concurs, "we don’t want to draw unwanted attention.”
“I understand that, but…” You frown. "But couldn't you simply say I called you in for something? I don't want to see you go."
“Hey.” By now, Levi’s walked to you, looking at you. “Don’t overthink things. We meant what we said last night; we're not going anywhere. We just need to keep up appearances."
You look down, looking dejected.
"Princess." Erwin calls out to you. You look up; he's walked up to you as well and all you can see are his beautiful eyes. Cerulean blue. "What you said to your father, about ruling alone, being the Queen of the Realm..."
A knot forms in the middle of your chest.
"If that is what you wish, we will do everything in our power to make it a reality."
"But what about you?"
Levi squeezes your hand.
“We’re your sworn swords, Princess," Levi says. "We’ll be there by your side, now and forever."
You smile, fondness prickling beneath your skin. If history might have anything to say about the woman you become, you know you might not be looked at in the kindest light. Let them do as they please; you'd set your own path and modernize the monarchy once and for all.
"I have decided on the first words of our joined story, by the way." Your two knights look back at you, gleaming. You make your way to stand close to them, kissing their cheeks before stepping back. "Once upon a time, three friends fell in love."
Levi scowls at your platitudes, muttering a bashful, "Corny," while Erwin just grins. "I like the sound of that," he says, adding his own twist to it, "The Once and Future Queen and Her Two Knights, a Tale for the Ages."
You smile sweetly. "Seems we have our title."
They both give their own versions of a smile, more valuable than all the gold in the world.
As they exit the confines of your bedroom that day, you don't tell them the ending to your story—the ending you're determined to bring to life.
And the three of them lived happily ever after.

I hope you enjoyed this little piece of saccharine indulgence. What do you all think happens next - does our trio get their happily ever after? Do they flee? Does our princess modernize the realm or abolish monarchy? I'd love to hear your theories in the comments.
Thanks for reading <3

I gave Erwin a big kiss on the cheek
Erwin was feeling a bit down today because he lost a document and couldn't find it.
So I gave him a kiss on the cheek and helped him search!
After an hour or so, we were able to find the document - it was underneath the table. He was so happy and we hugged eachother for many minutes.
I love him so much, he is my whole world, my life and my everything. 🩷
Erwin: I'm so mad, I can't find the document...
Naomi: Don't worry, let me help you! *kisses his cheek*
