@itsybitsypeterparker sent me child!peter: "do you like cookies? i have an extra one if you want it." he holds his hand out to offer erik a chocolate-chip cookie, smiling all the while. the child was used to barely getting by, so sharing food just seemed natural whenever there was a surplus.

   Somehow, being offered a chocolate chip cookie is the last thing the mutant had expected. He hadn’t even realised the kid had brought snacks, too focused on quietly watching the sun rise, legs dangling over the edge of the office block, and watching the breath condense in front of his face.

   “Peter, you sh–” voice dries up the moment he catches sight of the boy’s hopeful face, no longer able to refuse the offered treat without feeling guilty, and silently promising himself he will buy him more food later. Peter will not go hungry on his watch. “Thank you.”
