Blood and Silicon ep21: What's Blue and Sticky? (I didn't want to name the episode this)

[Summary: The boys finally find a way to fake Leo's death, and Blake collects things. Leo spends time with his sister as Blake and Percy visit a contact.] @zwoelffarben @kentuckycaverats @sanguineasylum

On the way back to the hotel the coterie agrees to ask Harrison what his "last resort" contact is for them, since they've been unable to figure out how to realistically fake Leo's death.

Leo calls Harrison, reassures him that nothing's gone wrong, and asks him for more info on the contact he had given the coterie- how would we know when to call the contact if we don't know what they can do?? Harrison says the contact is an old friend, but he'd rather the coterie not contact them unless they mess up horribly and it's absolutely necessary- surely it's not too difficult to not mess up. Leo reminds the Baron that police are able to figure out a lot of things now, like how to identify a corpse from its teeth. Harrison says to just Dominate the police, or make the death unquestionable; maybe a family member could see it. He'd rather it be imperfect than have the coterie call his mysterious contact.

["Leo, you can do this without help. Surely."] Leo shrinks back from the condescending remark and says he'll figure it out, and ends the call.

He fills the coterie in about the contact, and they reason the contact owes one to Harrison; maybe he wants to save it for something else. The coterie gets back to brainstorming Leo's fake death, and eventually they settle on a plan: Leo will drive a ways out from Chicago towards the Great Lake and leave a note behind (he's driving there himself just in case cameras spot him). He'll make it look as if he drowned, and the other two will pick him up at a separate spot. Leo mentions the police would expect a body to wash up at some point, but agrees to the plan regardless.

The coterie agrees to puil it off two nights later on the 27th, since Leo is spending time with his sister the next night (there's some emotion on Blake's face there, just for a moment). Blake says he's going to get the coterie one more night in Chicago, and that he'll be right back.

He gets some coffee grounds from the hotel lobby and puts them in a baggy, and then also takes the coffee maker; He returns to the room and Leo and Percy watch as he gets some bugs and mold from underneath the floorboards. Leo follows Blake into the bathroom and asks him what the hell he's doing as the Gangrel is gathering rust from the showerhead.

["Making sure you and me got something to eat later." "I- I don't see how this wouid help. "If you've been around as long as I have you pick up a few things along the way"]

Blake puts the materials into a cup of coffee grounds, mixes it with some of his own blood, and put this into the filters of the coffee maker. He starts to brew it, and hey. It smells super bad. Once it's done Blake pours it all into a flask he's got. Percy goes to find a Febreeze.

[Blake raises an eyebrow. "So you spend most of your time running around with blood-crazed lunatics but that sets you off unease?" "Forgive my Ventrue sensibilities."]

dark room, cluttered. grey blue skin, huge black eyes and nails. shocked to see Blake. how ya been, the lasombra have embedded themselves. jackie is mentioned.

blake asks for other favor, provide body to fake death? yeah S knows people. gives number.

Back in car, Percy learns the Lasombra are part of Camarilla

The next night, Leo grabs a rental car. He spends the rest of the night with his sister- she tries to ask him about the breakup, and they play Mario Kart at one point- and he succeeds his composure roll in trying not to cry. At one point they take a selfie and Leo specifically makes sure she takes it with her phone. Eventually, Amy gets tired, so he hugs her goodbye and says he loves her. Outside and away from anyone's sight, he breaks down sobbing.

Eventually, he steels himself and starts the walk back to the hotel. ["You've come this far. It's all for him. It's all for him- You can't go back."]

After Leo left the hotel to meet with Amy, Blake offered Percy to feed from him since the guy's looking hungry. Percy accepted the offer (he adds to his list of things he owes Blake for), and then was asked if he wanted to tag along with Blake; he has a contact to meet up with. Blake drives with Percy to an adult store in a seedy part of Chicago. Entering, Blake asks the store clerk if he can talk to his boss. ["Tell him his old friend Blake is here."] As Blake waits for the clerk to return from the back room he browses the 1988 playboy magazines. Percy is confused by one of the products on a shelf, and Blake jokingly asks if he's interested in buying it.

[Percy, deadpan: "...Seriously?"]

The store clerk returns and tries to ask Percy a few questions, like if he's interested in buying, if he needs help finding anything- Percy gives him some cash like "take this and stop asking me questions." The clerk accepts and leads Blake to the back office and down into a dark and cluttered basement and then leaves. A Nosferatu with blue-grey skin and large black eyes is shocked to see Blake in Chicago- he's called Sticky, which is probably the worst name ever considering this is under a sex toy shop. They exchange a few words– Stick informs Blake the Lasombra have "embedded themselves" in the city, but it's nothing they can't handle, and someone named Jackie is mentioned– and Blake says he's back in Chicago for business.

He asks for some bulletproof vests and gun silencers. Sticky gets those for him; one of the vests is pink ["Sorry. I got it though! You can just spray paint it."]. Blake bargains the price down to 3,000, saying Stick owes him one, and the Nos relents. Blake also asks if Sticky knows anyone who fake a death/make a fake body. Sticky says of course he does, but hesitates to give Blake a number to call until Blake says it would "make them even." Sticky says to not let the contact know it was him that gave Blake the number. He gives Blake a box to put his newly-acquired things in, and they say their goodbyes.

Blakes leaves the basement and tbh Percy was listening in the whole time with Heightened Senses. They start to leave, the clerk sees the box he's got and thinks he's stealing, but Blake attempts to convince him he paid for it already.

Back in the car, Percy asks about the Lasombra comment and unfortunately learns that clan has defected from the Sabbat and joined the Camarilla. Percy's visibly pissed about this, and Blake comments that's why he doesn't quite want to stick around for too long; There's no telling who's watching in the shadows. Percy goes from fidgeting with his ring to his gun- he reassures Blake he's not going to do anything, as he gave his word to not cause any problems, and Blake implies he's not too sure.

Percy informs Blake of the "absolute freedom requires absolute responsibility" belief that he has, and how not all of the Sabbat agreed with him on it- point is, he keeps his word.

Leo arrives back at the hotel room to see Blake and Percy with the vests, but he's like "I'm too distraught to ask about that rn," and goes to wipe the remaining blood off his face. Blake wants Leo to go feeding with him, and grabs that weird concoction he had made earlier. They drive out to some sort of road/field, where Blake takes the mixture and paints symbols into the ground, muttering something. Leo's confused as hell but Blake tells him that now they'll be able to feed from the animals here safely, since this isnt anyone's territory- it's a Weird Road. Leo's still confused tbh, but the two of them hunt and feed anyway.

Voyager rewatch s2 ep21: Deadlock

Hoo boy this one always packs a wallop. It seems shorter than other episodes when you watch it because it moves along so fast. There's no padding out with subplots or any scenes not directly advancing the story. A combination of disaster episode/spatial anomoly episode, it gets right in there with the emotional devastation and doesn't stop.

We get like one scene in the beginning before the traumatic stuff starts- the whole bridge crew anxiously waiting for Ensign Wildman to have the baby was really sweet. The crew is already like a family, so it's like they're all looking forward to the new baby in the family, aww. But then the ship has to fly through a nebula, and of course things go wrong- the ship is being torn apart and they don't know why! Time for some trauma!

I do distincly remember seeing this for the first time as a kid and being very horrified that they killed off Harry- I figured since it was Star Trek, they had to find a way to bring him back, but still, it was really shocking to see him get blown out in to space, and it still makes me want to cry watching B'Elanna watch him die, despite knowing we get him back. Then Ensign Wildman's baby died, which was also horrifying, and the ship was falling apart, and it was like wow, the horrors are really coming at us! The middle of the episode, where we see the duplicate Voyager that hasn't been damaged, and the two crews trying to figure out what was going on and how to communicate with each other, and two Janeways debating with each other what to do about their reliance on the same depleted supply of antimatter was interesting stuff, and had a sense of urgency and impending doom. (Though it did look a little awkward with how close together they had the two versions of Janeway standing and looking at each other. She's got her usual puppy eyed soap opera look she gets when she's concerned or worried, and it's fine when she does it to other people, but when two versions of herself look at each other like that, it comes off a little weird, ngl!)

Janeway, for at least the second time this season, decides to self destruct her ship so the undamaged Voyager can get home, while the other Janeway wants to find another way. But then the horrors return as a huge Vidian ship moves toward them while they're sitting ducks with no weapons. Hundreds of Vidians take over the ship and start harvesting our crew's organs, which is still horrifying to watch even knowing the other Voyager crew was undetected and still safe. In a reversal that probably shouldn't be too surprising, Janeway decides to self destruct the ship to keep the Vidians from taking it, but she sends Harry Kim to get the baby and go the other Voyager before theirs explodes. Harry's baby rescue operation is nail-biting, and watching the Doctor try to hide a baby from literally being killed for parts is just like wow, more horrors! Harry then telling the Doctor goodbye, knowing the ship is about to blow up and everyone on it will die in a few minutes is just like, the wildest throw away line ever, but Harry's in a hurry, and of course, he makes it to the other Voyager before his ship's Janeway rather gleefully lets the Vidians know they're all getting blown up in a few seconds.

Since the story never does differentiate which Voyager is 'the real one', and it's implied that they both are, it makes it impossible not to get invested in both, so we get double the horrors when both versions have lots of death. It's stated that sending more than a few people from one ship to the other would result in a phase imbalance that would destroy both ships, so I wonder what kind of phase imbalance Harry and Naomi Wildman have because of being from the alternate Voyager, and how that wasn't ever dangerous for them again. And how it was never brought up again! Sure they have the exact same experiences up to that point, so they are the same people, but like, Harry's complaint at the end that it feels weird knowing he's on an alternate Voyager with an alternate crew, and Janeway just smiling and joking that 'haha weird is part of the job!' felt like it was downplaying the situation a little too much- I think Harry would probably need some therapy after that one! But of course, Voyager doesn't have a therapist, and any therapist they had would be insanely overworked if they did, so maybe telling him to ignore it and sweep it under the rug was actually the best policy tbh!

Tl;dr: A tightly written, tense disaster story, filled with shocking moments, that keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time.

JOL2 ep21&22 thoughts

Every Chen Pingping and Emperor scene is laced with so much tension. Analogous to a tiger hunting a wolf. CPP is so careful and the Emperor just keeps pushing. Haha wait they're middle school frenemies in the mean girls clique based on the sole reason that that is the funniest mental image.

Who is Cheng Jialin??? (I choose to believe they couldn't be bothered to cast him and just want to see how far they can stretch it)

The sentiment on Douyin goes something like this: I do not pity Shi Chanli for failing the exam, but rather what news awaited him afterwards. Poor dude omg!!

Yan Bingyun <3 <3 he's such a bitch and I like him so much

Whenever Dabao calls Fan Xian 'Xiao Xianxian' (Little Fan Xian - childlike diminutive) with that intonation I smile, it's so sweetly incongruent with how legitimately terrifying he can be.

Chancellor Lin will miss their wedding!!!

The goodbye exchange between Dabao and Chancellor Lin made me so emotional - his potentially last effort to protect his son. When he told Dabao to try not to disturb Fan Xian and Wan'er if he felt their patience running out my heart broke for both's positions.

GOODBYE MY PRINCESS update: so it turned out that I had not been watching the director's cut of the show. This was a mistake because the first 5 episodes of the director's cut got edited down to 2 in the show as it aired, and this cut out a huge amount of background, thematic material, and characterisation. This doesn't make Chengyin's character any better, he's still hot garbage from the get-go, but it sure does give him context and make the story a little more meaningful. I'm up to ep21 at the moment and the story has turned into something very reminiscent of Scarlet Heart Ryeo - you have brothers fighting for the crown in a poisonous and dangerous world of court intrigue. Chengyin has more in common with SHR's Wang Wook than he does with Wang So, however, and Xiaofeng has little of Hae Soo's strength and agency. Meanwhile, I'm pretty ambivalent about the themes as they concern Xiaofeng. We get a deconstruction of the "runaway princess" trope, yeah, but in a way that seems willing to punish the heroine for wanting to elevate her own individual needs above the good of the empire. Although the show has sympathy for Xiaofeng's plight and commends her free spirit, she's penalised in the most horrible ways for wanting her own life and I'm not convinced that she's going to be vindicated by the story. That said, the show isn't over yet and I haven't yet quite figured out what they're doing with Chengyin, who might turn out to be a cautionary tale in his own way.

I'm happy to keep cruising through this right now, but so far it feels like a take on a very similar story to SHR with a worse hero and none of that SHR's strengths and maturity

This is another thing I mean when I say “If anyone would like to help with this project in any way” I have already started to message a translator for work on some specific clips. It is going to cost to me so I have to pick and choose. So if someone does have something not on this list and knows a translator or anything that could be of some help and lower my bill it would be greatly appreciated. I want this so much for myself so thats why I will do some translations out of pocket but when I do have translated clips I will be posting them for your benefit too. So if anyone wants to help.. please do message me. Maybe you have something i’m not aware of already translated or on the back burner and if so I would really appreciate hearing about it :)

If somehow I actually had the SUBS for specific scenes in my possession I would do all the editing and embed them into the clips themselves. Even if they are just written translations it would be helpful.

This was how I felt for months, and a lot of times still how I feel. At first when you were gone, and still sometimes, my brain just couldn't fathom how I would ever live in a world without you in it. I've been so blessed with people in my life to help me through this time, but it is incredibly difficult sometimes. I really wish you were here for me to share my accomplishments with, your crazy goofy attitude always got me through the tough days.

I hope you're still running as wild in heaven as you were here, I love you...

RvB S15 Ep21 SPOILERS

I have some mixed feelings about this episode. Parts of it were great, others, not so much.

Caboose got to say goodbye to church! I LOVE MY GOOD BOY! IT WAS SO SAD YET SO BEAUTIFUL!

For a second there I thought they were going to kill off Caboose. You better not motherfuckers.

Vic’s monologue was both hilarious and annoying. Fitting.

Um, is Donut okay? What was that weird thing that zapped him? The fuck?

Grif and Kai reuniting was fucking beautiful. Favourite part of the episode.

I think that Temple as a villain was a bit underwhelming. His backstory was fine and I actually felt sad for him when Biff died. As a villain though? Eh. The “he’s obviously the villain” approach didn’t really work. His monologue made my ears bleed last episode (thank you Jax for pointing out how shit it was), and now he’s just in prison? Carolina never even found out why he tried to kill her and Wash. Oh well, enjoy your fish, motherfucker.

Loco deserved better.

Dylan was pretty cool.

Carolina can...sing. It’s not BAD but...okay it’s bad. You tried. ⭐️ 

The episode felt a little short though.

All in all, the season was okay. Not as great as previous seasons, but still good. Favourite episode of the season has to be “Previously on”. It had me laughing all the way though.

The Haves and the Have Nots S4 Ep21: Kate - Recap & Review #HAHN

Episode Rating Scale:(9) Excellent

The plot thickens with each episode. The choices the rich and the poo has to make isn't all that different. However, they are all connected one way or another. I expected this episode to give us more heat but it didn't.  We getting close to the finale, what secrets will come to the light. Let's discussed this episode. 

Mama Rose walks in and finds her restaurant destroyed. It's not too bad, but still, it had some damage done. Erica is sitting there scared out her mind. Mitch gave the ok to let her go. I think they should have killed her too. Put her nicely beside her boyfriend. What I found odd was Candace being MIA? When did she leave the restaurant? Mitch apologize for the damage, but Mama Rose isn't mad at all. She sees War dead on the floor, and her grandson helps to get him there; Mama Rose is satisfied. However, that doesn't mean she is pleased with Jim and David. 

Candace wasn't too far away. She and Mitch sit in his car discussing Mama Rose. Candace did the hood a favor by delivering War to Mama Rose. Mama Rose was about to have innocent bloody bodies laying around just for one person. Candace help prevents that. Mitch tells her his grandmother is going to want to thank her face to face. Unfortunately, Candace has already been in Mama Rose's company. It wasn't good company either. Candace explains to Mitch how his grandmother kidnapped her for Jim Cryer. Mitch was shocked and asked why she didn't tell him. I am confused because Candace didn't know anything about Mitch and the fact he was a Malon. Remember, when she told him you don't have a connection like that; when he set War up for drugs. The writing a little iffy right there or my memory is incorrect. Candace knows how to make a man fall in love with her tho. You can tell Mitch care for her. I wonder will they ever put them two together. Candace revenge her son's death. She still wanted to the question and nowhere to go with no money. Candace life is a hot mess. She asked Mitch to take her somewhere. Where will they end up?

Hanna had God protecting her. Her faith is so powerful that he covered her. Sad that Baby Q couldn't be protected. This could have been a message to Candace. Candace needs to get her life together. Sometimes tragedy change lives. I was upset that she blames Hanna. Why was War there in the first place? He was looking for her. He wanted to kill her. Everyone in that room beside Baby Q tried protecting Candace. Her son paid the price and she still blaming everyone but herself. Smh. Candace words don't usually affect Hanna but this time they did. Hanna questions her faith at this point. I know the hardest thing for Benny is being caught between two women; his mother and his sister. He loves both of them dearly, but that just don't get along. Benny tries to comfort his mother. He tries to restore her faith. Unfortunately, Hanna blames herself as well for Baby Q's death. Benny tries to get Hanna to recite a prayer. Hanna sits in silence.

I don't like David being a marked. His soft spot for a damsel in distressed is driving me crazy. You have to give it to Erica for that performance. Some how at Mama Rose's restaurant she got a bruise on her face or did Candace give her that bruise when she smacked her? Hmmmm!!! Anyway, she now has an abusive fiance. What? David fell for the lies and the games. He told her he would protect her. What will her fiance name be? She definitely can't say Way; he is dead. David thought Veronica and Erica had another catfight. After Candace smacking Erica, I am now convinced she is no competition to Veronica. But it's a good thing she didn't lie. Veronica would have made David's life harder than she is already doing. David and Erica leave the hotel. Where will David take her? To his house, I bet. She is getting David right where she wants him. I am hoping she falls for David. However, Candace did say she will throw her out a window if she betrays her. Does Erica have loyalty or fear of Candace at this point?

Unbelievable how a mother sells her child for some money. Amazing how a grown woman agrees to it. Sometimes I feel sorry for Melissa, and sometimes I don't. She is trapped between a social path and a horrible mother. She truly has no win unless she plans an escape. Two mothers stand there trying to control their kids' life. Poor Jeffrey and Melissa. Doris, Melissa's mom, ask Veronica for more money. How much pay off this woman need? I don't know why she thought it's was about to be a bonding moment. Veronica has dinner cooking. The aroma smells good. Veronica nicely tells Doris goodbye. That look on her face was priceless. No family bonding.

Just when you think Veronica can't stoop any lower, she makes Melissa clean up her bloody mess. How low is that? Veronica tells Melissa she hopes she is worth it. She went on to how the baby better is healthy and pretty. What is she going to do if her grandson/daughter be gay too? I feel for this grandbaby. Poor baby. You are about to horn for a social path to raise you. Pray for the child.

 Is it possible that Candace and Charles found love with each other? The most soon to be a powerful man in the world has fallen for a ratchet hood criminal. Charles apologizes to Candace for not being honest with her. For once Candace said the right thing out her mouth. She told Charles he didn't like to her.  Is this a goodbye? Charles is headed to NY for another campaign stop. Even though he would love for Candace to join him, she has to bury her son. It seems like Charles has his project going. I guess he is longer for a first lady. Can you imagine the first lady being Candace? Omggg, a lot of scandals is needed to pull that off. When they closed the doors; they both stood not wanting to leave each other side. 

Hanna is too prideful at times. She has nowhere to live, no money and no job. Benny has no money, no job and nowhere to live. Why not accept Katheryn's offer? Sometimes I wonder does Hanna see Katheryn as a friend or just a rich white lady she works. This friendship has blossomed. It has survived the hardest tests, son against some and pain on top of pain; I feel Hanna deserve whatever Katheryn gives her. Take that house. If you want to pay her, then pay her but take the home. Can't be prideful when you homeless Hanna. I also feel Katheryn is sincere. Hanna is the only person she is most sincere with. Benny has to see Veronica. Why?  Before he leaves,  Katheryn tells Hanna and Benny the funeral home called. It's time to bring Baby Q home going outfit. Benny feels Candace need to be there. Regardless of Candace ways, she is his mother. I believe she loves her son and that's only right. Hanna may feel differently, but Benny doesn't care. He calls Candace.

Benny gets a hold of Candace. He wants to go pick her up to go to the funeral home. Since Hanna is going to be in the car, she declined. Even in tragedy them, two can't put their differences aside. Terrible!!!! Benny agrees to text her the address. Jim walks in the house. Amazing how these two doesn't know each other. After the introduction, Jim asked, "Where is Katheryn?" Katheryn and Hanna walk in. Katheryn is shocked to find Jim there. Jim wants to talk to Katheryn, but Katheryn is so over Jim. She doesn't want to speak to him. Hanna tries to excuse herself, but Katheryn tells her to stay. Hanna is only worried about getting to the funeral home. She doesn't have time to be in the middle of Katheryn and Jim. Hanna and Benny leave Katheryn to talk to Jim.

Jim is trying to get Katheryn to agree to a meeting with David and Veronica. They need to get their story together and prepare for George. Despite them all not trusting each other, they have to stick together right now. Mama Rose presented the body and Wyatt gave the motive. A Cryer is going down for Jennifer Sallison's murder but who? Jim tries to get Katheryn to understand she didn't need to burn the house down. All the furniture is in storage. Katheryn doesn't care; she wanted Jim told to be in the mansion. Katheryn walks away. Jim follows her. Jim and Katheryn have had so many ups and downs over the series. Is Katheryn mad at him or just extremely angry at him? Jim tries to convince Katheryn he loves her. I guess Katheryn hasn't had a man touching her in a long time; especially not Jim. The resistance can only last but so long. Katheryn gave into Jim. Anger turned into passion and sex.
