LILA- “Albert, I am so glad you are here...You need to get me out of here though. That woman that was just here thinks she is my nurse. She tries to bathe me and everything! She stole my purse I know it was here.”
ENOCH- “Mom, I am not Albert. Dad died years ago. I am Enoch, and that was your nurse. She didn’t steal anything, you haven’t used a purse in years.”
LILA- “I use my purse everyday! Albert, quit being silly. Just give me a hug, and then we can go. I need to get home to the boys.”
ENOCH- “You are going to stay for a little while but the kids and I need to get back home. We will see you again next Saturday. Maybe Hailey can come with us next time. Do you need us to bring you anything?”
LILA- “Of course I am staying here a little while. Where else would I go? It was so nice to meet you. And bring Shirley back with you next time too. It was good to see her!”
ENOCH- “Mom! That is not---
ROWAN- “It’s okay daddy, if she thinks I am Shirley, I can be Shirley. She must have been someone that Grams loved very much. Okay Grams I will come back next time. I will bring a book and you can read to me, Okay?”
LILA- “Oh Shirley that would be so much fun, yes. Bring us a book next time.

NURSE- “Ms. Schrieber, you have company here to see you?”
LILA- “Company? Who could it be, everyone I know lives here.”
NURSE- “It’s your son and his family, Ms. Schrieber. You know, Enoch. He visits every Saturday.”
LILA- “Is it Saturday, already!? Time sure flies don’t it? Well let me see my company.”
ROWAN- “Hi Grams. You look pretty today.”
LILA- “Why Shirley!? Thank you honey but what are you doing here, and where is mom and dad?”
ENOCH- “That’s Rowan, Mom. Not Aunt Shirley.”
LILA- “Well, little girl, you look just like my sister Shirley. Come here and give me a hug you pretty thing. How old are you now?”
ROWAN- “I am six now, almost seven, Grams!”
LILA- “Oh, Shirley, you are getting so big. So why did Albert bring you here, where is mom and dad?”

Jackson puts Rowan down and she just glares at him, but what he wants to say is important and he has went over it in his head many times and wants to get it right...
JACKSON- “Listen Dad, I know at one time you loved mom, you loved her very much....”
ENOCH- “Yes, I did, she was an amazing mother, and wife Jackson.”
JACKSON- “I understand, I do. I mean you were only three years older than I am right now when I came along. When you should have been graduating high school, you were working and trying to be a father. I am sure it was difficult. I can’t even imagine what I would do, or how I could do it.”
ENOCH- “I am not going to lie, it was hard. and I missed out on a lot.”
JACKSON- “Like football, college, all of those things that Seth was able to do. And over time I am sure you began to resent mom...and me and she probably felt the same at times.”
ENOCH- “Maybe she resented me, but she never ever did you. You were her world, Jackson, trust me.”
JACKSON- “But she is not here anymore, at least not physically, all I have left is you dad. You and Rowan. And you have done well for yourself this last year or two. Hailey is a great person and great mom. I am not saying I want to move in, because that wasn’t mom’s wish and honestly, I think it is better I am with Uncle Seth and Mark. But I need a dad. And I am sorry for being such an---- an ass towards you. So if you will forgive me, I would really like to start over with you.”
Enoch grabs him and start hugging him. So tight that he almost knocks the wind out of his son.
ENOCH- “I would like nothing more. You have made me the happiest man alive right now Jackson!! You have nothing to apologize for. Your mother did good with you son, really good. You are smarter than any thirteen year old I’ve ever met. I love you Jackson!”
ROWAN- “Dada, wove Jack Jack... I wove Jack Jack. He is my Jack Jack Dada!! I wove Jack Jack!”
ENOCH- “I love him too Ro, and right now, It’s my turn to hold onto him!”

ENOCH- “Hey Jackson, I see the little girl finally got her wish, her Jack Jack is here.” He looks at his son, somewhat confused, as they haven’t spoken since Corrine’s funeral and that was less than pleasant.
JACKSON- “Hailey said she has been driving you guys crazy about that, sorry. This looks a lot bigger down herewith everything cleaned out.”
ENOCH- “Yeah, I saved some extra money, Hailey wants a family room, so we are getting a family room. So what brings you by?”
JACKSON- “I just wanted to say I saw you at the game the other day.---”
ENOCH- “If you prefer I didn’t come---”
JACKSON- “NO... I mean, no, it was nice. Nice you being there. It meant a lot. Mom never missed a game all through the years, that was the first game she ever missed. So it was nice to see you there.”
ENOCH- “Knowing your mother, I am sure she was there, Jackson. You were her world.”
JACKSON- “And she was mine. It’s just been really tough, but seeing you there made me think that maybe we should talk, you know.? We have no promise of tomorrow do we?”
ENOCH- “Unfortunately, no son we don’t. And I would like that, us to talk I mean.”
ROWAN- “I talk Jack Jack! I talk to you!”
JACKSON- “Yes, you talk a lot Ro Ro. And if you want to come to my games, you can sit in the parent section, I will let them know you will be there. It’s down front so you can see a little better.”
ENOCH- “I would love that. You are good Jackson, really good. Better than I ever was. I am very proud of who you have become, without any help from me.”
JACKSON- “Actually that’s not true Dad, I mean it was you that bought me my first football. I still have that little thing. And you were the one that would pass pack and forth with me. I missed that the most when things got---
ENOCH- “I know, I am sorry.”
JACKSON- “Apologies don’t change things, but actions do, and you coming to my game made me realize that you are important to me. What happened, happened and we can not change the past. But me being stubborn and acting like a jerk isn’t right either. Mom didn’t raise me that way.”
ENOCH- “Well you do get that stubbornness from me.”

On the other side of the Bay, someone else is having a visit as well. Jackson meet Rowan.
HAILEY- “Jackson, meet your sister, Rowan Lila Schrieber.”
ROWAN- (screaming at the top of her lungs)
JACKSON- “OH my Watcher...why is she screaming like that? Does she do this all day!?”
ENOCH- “No, she probably just needs her diaper changed, or wants a bottle.”
JACKSON- “Did I scream like that when I was a baby?”
ENOCH- “Oh, trust me, you were even louder.”
JACKSON- “How can something that small make so much noise??”
HAILEY- “Go ahead, just pick her up Jackson.”
JACKSON- “Okay, how? I don’t want to hurt her.”
LILA- “You are not going to break her. You can throw a football, but you can’t pick up a baby?”
JACKSON- “Footballs don’t scream. If I pick her up will she stop?!”
ENOCH- “Very possible.”
JACKSON- “Okay, here goes nothing....”
The minute Jackson picks her up and starts cradling her in his arms, she quiets down and looks at him.
ENOCH- “I think she likes you Jack.”
JACKSON- “Hi there Row Row, that will be my nickname for you. I am Jackson, your big brother. You can call me Jack, okay? You and me, we are gonna be tight. I will toss a football with you and take you fishing. And the boys? They better not even think about coming around.”

ENOCH- “Thanks for defending me out there to Jackson. I fully understand his anger right now, and if he wants to direct it to me, that’s fine.”
SETH- “He is working through a lot. But I meant what I said, Enoch. You and Corrine were friends way before you had Jack and got married. She would have wanted you to be here.”
ENOCH- “I wanted to talk to you about Jackson’s custody issue.”
SETH- “We can talk about this later, Enoch. This isn’t the time to---”
ENOCH- “No, hear me out. I am not going to fight it, Seth. Corrine wanted you to raise him if something happened, and I will respect that. I would like shared parenting, or some say in his life, but I will support you regardless.”
SETH- “I am fine with that, Brother, and thank you. Right now I know Jack is not interested in having a relationship with you, but in time, he will. And he has said that he wants to be able to see his sister and be part of her life, so there is that.”
ENOCH- “We have had our differences, Seth, but Corrine knew what she was doing when she named you his custodial parent. You would do a much better job than I could.”
SETH- “Enoch, do not sell yourself short. You were vital to Jackson’s early days, and were right there for him and Corrine. Jackson was too young to know just how much you were there and how much you loved him. We all make mistakes, brother, but you are cleaning your life up, and like I said in time, Jack is going to need you and WANT you. Mark is talking to one of his associates and we think Jackson should have some counseling to get him through all of this.”
ENOCH- “That is good. Yes, I think he would benefit from that for sure, and If I can help or they want me to be part of it, just let me know. I will do whatever I can to get him through all of this.”
SETH- “Mark and I may be responsible for raising him now, but you will ALWAYS be his father, Enoch.”
Enoch left, in tears, and upset, but he knew by agreeing to Corrine’s wishes, Jackson would be in the best hands possible.
MARK- “You did good, Seth. Enoch will remember those words for a long time. Now if we can just get Jackson to that point.”

As Enoch and Hailey were getting ready to leave, Lila came out...
LILA- “Enoch? Is that you?”
ENOCH- “Mother, yes...I have missed you so----
LILA- “And I you son. You have lost some weight, you are looking good.”
ENOCH- “I’m getting cleaned up ma, been sober for three months now.”
LILA- “Enoch! That is great news, come give me a hug son.”
ENOCH- “Mom this is Haliey, my fiance. We are going to be married as soon as the divorce is final. We were hoping to stay with you for a while, until I can find a job.”
HAILEY- “Enoch!! You don’t just start asking favors after not seeing your mother for almost a year. Where are your manners? I am sure she taught you better than that. Now, apologize.”
ENOCH- “Sorry ma...but---
LILA- “I know son, but you can’t stay with me. I live here with Corrine and Jackson now. After your dad died and Seth bought his house, I put our house up for sale. It hasn’t sold yet unfortunately, but I am helping Corrine out.”
ENOCH- “Oh... I see. You said it hasn’t sold yet?”
LILA- “No, there is a lot of work that it needs.”
ENOCH- “What about I fix it all up, and I will buy it.”
HAILEY- “Enoch, how are YOU going to buy a house? You have no job yet, and we have a baby on the way in a few weeks.”
LILA- “Baby?”
ENOCH- “We can buy it directly from mom, pay her as we can, and I will have a job soon enough. The baby is not due for another five months.”
HAILEY- “We can’t ask your mother that, She probably needs the money from the sell of the house.”
LILA- “Baby!?”
ENOCH- “She will still get her money, Hailey, just not all at once. This was my family home. I grew up in that house. It would be great if it stayed within the family.”
LILA- “Hey... did you say BABY!??”

Over on the other side of town, in Brindleton Bay, Lila is back at her home now that Enoch and Hailey have begun the process of buying the home from her. Lila is enjoying the quiet in her backyard. She is actually glad that the house didn’t sell. So many memories are here.
Enoch on the other hand just got an email on a job he applied for at the High School...
ENOCH- “HAILEY!!! Good news I got that job at the High School as groundskeeper! This is great news... Hailey??”
HAILEY- “I have some news too, Enoch. I think I am in labor!! You may want to call the doctor and let him know we are going to the hospital.”
ENOCH- OH MY WATCHER!!! It’s time already! These babies come awful fast now a days! Ok, I will call the doctor, and pull the car around.”
HAILEY- “I think it may be too late for that, Enoch. My water just broke!”
Sure enough, the baby came too fast to get to the hospital, and it was born at home. A little girl...

SETH- “Mother is a very smart lady. Okay, I will give you a loan for the earnest money. But we need to have a legal written contract and one non payment, the deal is over, you understand? With me and with Mother”
HAILEY- “He will not miss a payment, I will see to that, Seth.”
SETH- “Okay then. And you pay for all the repairs as well. Mark and I could help if you need it. There is a lot of work that needs to be done, but it is nothing major. Enoch, I am going out on a limb here. I hope I can trust you.”
ENOCH- “You can brother, I swear. Hailey is good for me. She keeps me focused, and I want to do right by this baby and try to make things right with Jackson as well.”
SETH- “It all sounds good, Enoch. Honestly, I am glad you found someone that you will listen to and has helped you. Thank you for that Hailey. Come over Thursday evening and I will have my attorney write up the contract and I’ll have the check for mother. Bring her with you, as well. It’s good seeing you Enoch, and nice to meet you Hailey. I really have to get to the clinic now.
ENOCH- “Thank you Seth, thank you so much. This mean so much to me...to us.”
HAILEY- “Yes, thank you Seth.”
As they turned to go, Seth watched them.
HAILEY- “Come on Enoch, we need to go see my dad before noon...”
He liked that this girl seemed to have a hold over him, almost motherly. Maybe that is what he needed.
“I hope I did the right thing with this situation...”

GENERATION ONE - Episode 5 Life is Like a Box of Chocolates...
Corrine’s funeral was solemn but beautiful. Both her brother Royce and sister, Janelle spoke, and Royce's husband, Franklin Brown gave the eulogy. Seth and Mark hosted a small dinner afterwards at their home for those that wished to come before heading back to their respective homes. The day was filled with rain, which cast an even more somber mood to the day. Jackson was silent throughout the visitation and funeral. He actually had not spoken much at all since his mother’s death. As they all started to head into the house, Jackson stopped...
JACKSON- “I don’t want you here. You can back home home.”
ENOCH- “Jackson, I just wanted to pay---”
JACKSON- “What? Your condolences? This is all your fault, and I do not want you here!”
LILA- “ENOUGH!! Jack, your father was married to your mother, they have known one another since they were fifteen years old. He has every right to be here. Now, if you don’t want to talk to him, that is one thing, but you can not blame him for your mother’s death. It was a car accident!”
SETH- “Come on in Jackson, get yourself a plate of food, but Grams is right, your father has every right to be here today.”
JACKSON- “FINE! It doesn’t mean I have to talk to him.”
LILA- “This boy is really not dealing well with this, Enoch. Just give him time, he will snap out of it. He has lost his mother, and as far as he is concerned, he has lost you as well.”
ENOCH- “I understand, and I will go, if he doesn’t want me here, I should go. I don’t want to make him uncomfortable.”
LILA- “You will stay. She was your wife for ten years. He is your son. Regardless if he likes it or not. I understand he is grieving, but there is no excuse for him being nasty and rude.”

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Enoch has reappeared in Brindleton Bay with his pregnant new girlfriend Hailey, wanting to see his son...
CORRINE- “You have not been here in over a year, Enoch, and Jackson has no desire to see you. You probably wouldn’t even recognize him.”
(He aged up while I was playing Seth and his household)
ENOCH- “He is my son, Corrine and I have a right to see my son. Hailey and I are having a child and we want him to know his brother or sister.”
CORRINE- “Well I certainly hope for that baby’s sake, and for Hailey that you are a better father than you have been to Jackson. So just go. You come here at dawn demanding to see your son that for at least a year you didn’t even care about. Thank goodness your father is not around to see this.”
ENOCH- “Corrine, I had a problem then, I was ... I mean I am an alcoholic, and I am trying to make things right now.”
HAILEY- “He has been sober for over three months now, he does want to try and make things right.”
CORRINE- “So you are getting help, then?”
ENOCH- “Yes, and I really want to get my life back on track. I know I have destroyed our relationship beyond repair, but there is still a chance with Jackson. Please just let me talk to him, and try and explain things and let him know that I am moving back to Brindleton to be closer to him. I want him and his sibling to have a relationship.”
CORRINE- “Fine. But if he doesn’t want to talk, don’t force him, Enoch.”
Jackson comes out, and Corrine was right, Enoch barely recognized him, he was a teenager now, and grown so much. He grabbed him and gave him a hug.
ENOCH- “Jackson... you have grown up so much. I am so sorry that I left. I want to make things right, or try. This is Hailey, my fiance. She is going to have you a brother or sister soon.”

After explaining to Lila that yes, there was a baby on the way, she agreed to take the house off the market and let Enoch fix it up and then buy the house from her, but she wanted to make sure that she had some money up front, so she suggested that Enoch talk to his brother and possibly get a loan from him. The next morning Seth received an unexpected phone call from his brother. The last time he heard from him was at his father’s funeral, when he showed up wasted.
SETH- “I was surprised to get your phone call Enoch, I figured you lost my number.”
ENOCH- “Mom gave it to me... Seth this is my fiance, Hailey. Hailey this is my brother Seth.”
HAILEY- “Nice to meet you, Seth. I see good looks run in the family.”
ENOCH- “He is gay, Hailey. You can’t butter him up like that.”
HAILEY- “Not everyone is like you Enoch, I wasn’t buttering him up, I was just stating my opinion. You both are very good looking men.”
SETH- “So when are you due, Hailey?”
HAILEY- “October, 23rd is my due date.”
SETH- “Congratulations to both of you. So Mom said you wanted to talk to me about something.”
ENOCH- “Yeah...by the way this place looks amazing. It’s hard to believe this was the old house we used to come up and hang out in when we were teenagers.”
SETH- “Thanks. Your question, Enoch? I really need to get to the office soon.”
ENOCH- “I talked to mom, and told her I was hoping to stay here in Brindleton now. We need somewhere to live, so I suggested to mom that I could move into the old place and fix things up around there and then make payments to her so it can be in me and Hailey’s name.”
SETH- “That sounds Okay to me, if mother agrees to that, I am fine with it. I have no control as to what mother wants to do with the house.”
ENOCH- “She want’s earnest money... 30k. She suggested I ask you for a loan, with interest of course and she would put the house in your name until I paid you back, and then her for the remainder, then she would transfer the house to me.”

LILA- “My sweet Jackson. I am so glad you came over, it has been a while since you visited last.”
JACKSON- “Grams, this is the first time I have been here since you moved back in.”
LILA- “That’s what I mean, just so glad you came. Give Grams a big hug sweetheart. I sure do miss you.”
JACKSON- “Same here Grams. But little Rowan needs you now. I have had you all to myself for 13 years, so it’s time I share you.”
LILA- “You will always be my Jack.”
ENOCH- “So tell your grandmother the big news, Jackson.”
LILA- “Yes, please, do tell!”
JACKSON- “I tried out for the quarterback position on the Freshman team and I got the spot! I am the starting quarterback!!”
LILA- “OH That is great news, Jack! So when is your first game, I have to make sure I am there!”
ENOCH- “You know I played that position in High School. Did I tell you that Jackson?”
JACKSON- “Yes, you did. So the game is next Friday Grams, but it starts early. Before the varsity game. It starts at 6:30. Make sure you get there early so you can get a good seat.”
LILA- “You know it!, I will have your dad bring me. Is that okay?”
JACKSON- “Sure. If he wants to come.”
ENOCH-“Wouldn’t miss it.”
Lila’s cell phone starts going off...
LILA- “Hello? .... Yes, this is she, who is calling?.... OH... Okay... Yes, she is my daughter-in-law....Oh, no, .... Okay yes, we will be right there, thank you.”
JACKSON- “What is it Grams, who was that?”
ENOCH- “Is everything okay, mom?”

SETH- “I am not over- exaggerating. Dad very well may not come out of this coma, and even if he does, he is not going to be the same.”
ENOCH- “He hasn’t been the same since his last one. None of us are the same, Seth. Including you! You used to be the only one in the family I cared about, my little brother. But then when you came back and went back to school, YOU changed. Trying to undermine my parenting. You act like Jackson is your son. All he talks about is Uncle Seth this, uncle Seth that. If it isn’t you it’s Dad. He don’t even know I exist. And let’s not even start on how you and Dad turned mother against me. Even Corrine... I am done with all of you.”
SETH- “Maybe if you stopped being so self absorbed and paid attention to your son----
ENOCH- “See there you go again. You sound just like Dad. You know what Seth, just go.”
Enoch took another drink and Seth knew it was beyond him. He started to shed a tear, because he knew he was losing his brother too.
SETH- “Listen, Enoch. I will go. But please, get help, and please come see dad before you can’t see him anymore. I know you don’t want that. I’m sorry you feel this way, and I know sorry doesn’t make it right, but I do care----
ENOCH- “I said Just GO!”
SETH- “Bye Enoch. You know my number if you need me.”
ENOCH- “I don’t need you, or anyone... hey, Jeff, pour me another will ya.”
The bartender poured another, as Seth left. The bartender gave Enoch his drink and looked at him, he thought he saw a tearin his eye...
BARTENDER- “You may want to go see your old man Enoch.”
ENOCH- “My dad died a long time ago.”

JACKSON- “Hello Hailey, is it?”
HAILEY- “Yes. Nice to finally meet you Jackson.”
JACKSON- “So you are pregnant?”
HAILEY- “Yes, only about 16 weeks. We decided we didn’t want to know what we are having. But we did want you to know.”
JACKSON- “I do appreciate that, and I would like to be around when it comes, but honestly, I really have no desire to talk to my dad right now. No offense to you.”
HAILEY- “I get it and that may take time. I am glad though that you want to be there when the baby comes, it should know who their big brother is.”
ENOCH- “I get it, Jackson. I know that you probably hate me, and I completely understand. But I do want to make things right by you.”
JACKSON- “I don’t hate you Dad. You are my father, and I can’t hate you. But I have lost all respect for you. You destroyed our family. You left at a time that both mother and I needed you. When your own father and mother needed you. You have no idea how hard this has been on mother and I. Not to mention to Grandmother.”
ENOCH- “I understand, and that is why I am here. I was wrong, and what i did was wrong, but I do want to make it right.”
JACKSON- “I am sorry, but you DON’T understand. If you did you would have came back a long time ago. I get it that you had problems, and you still have problems, but running out on us didn’t help us, or yourself. We were people that loved you. I am sorry, but right now I can’t do this. I need to get ready for school...
ENOCH- “Jackson, don’t, please....
HAILEY- “Enoch, no let him be. He needs time. Don’t try and force it.”
JACKSON- “Listen to your girlfriend. Nice to meet you Hailey, please let me know when my brother or sister arrives.”

It was almost 11:30 when Seth got to Oasis Springs and to the bar his brother’s friend said he would probably be at. When he walked in the place smelled old and musty with the stench of stale cigarette smoke, backed up sewer and really bad fried food odors. Which could have been fish... or not. The scented candles on the table, that were placed there to cover up the aroma actually made it almost nauseating.
As soon as he heading into the bar, he saw his brother sitting at the bar, drink in hand, and obviously inebriated. He looked sick, and smelled as though he hadn’t showered in a few days. He noticed right away that Enoch had on one of his knitted beanies.
SETH- “ENOCH!?”
ENOCH- “No one here by that name, at least no one here that would know me anyway. Did my wife or mother send you?”
SETH- “I brought myself, of my own accord, Enoch. It’s Seth.”
ENOCH- “Ahhh, great, just who I wanted to see. My now famous, gay, reality TV star, over-achieving, younger brother. How’d that bachelor thing go for you Seth, you find the love of your life?”
SETH- “Actually yeah, but I’m not here to talk about me, or you for that matter, I am here to talk about dad. You need to sober up and come with me.”
ENOCH- “Not gonna happen, little brother. Can’t you see I’m busy here? This beautiful woman over here who I forgot her name...what is it again beautiful? Well anyway she needs a drink and I just ordered her one, for us to share our miseries together... and you are not invited.”
Seth makes his way to the bar and sits down at a bar stool right between his brother and the attractive dark-haired female, that obviously was not interested in Seth’s brother from the look on her face.
