At the Pharaoh’s dismissal, both beetle and cat headed out the way they had come, splitting off to head for their separate chambers, unaware that they would shortly be meeting up again, this time for a game of Hounds and Jackals.

Yami knelt, both knees on the floor of his soul room, his arms limp at his sides, and hands dragging the floor. He stared sightlessly at the shadows that bled down the walls of his prison.

From the corners of his unfocused eyes ran tears like shining gold, they carved a path down the dark skin of his cheeks before dripping off his jaw. When they hit the sandy stone floor that golden shimmer faded, leaving only a wet drop mark.
