THIS JUST IN: TESSA VIRTUE, SCOTT MOIR AND PATRICK CHAN ANNOUNCE FIRST ANNUAL ROCK THE RINK TOUR
April 9, 2019
TICKETS ON SALE MAY 3rd AT ROCKTHERINK.COM
Toronto, ON – April 9, 2019 – By the half-way point of last year’s sold out Thank You Canada tour, it was clear to figure skating superstars, Tessa Virtue, Scott Moir and Patrick Chan, that they were far from done creating and developing a new style of skating entertainment.  Conversations then began in earnest to focus on the next logical step.
Today, Virtue and Moir appeared on CTV’s Your Morning, to announce Rock The Rink – an annual tour that focuses on being more than a figure skating show. Combining the highest level of on-ice superstar talent with an ever-evolving touring production, Rock The Rink will produce the highest value of entertainment. This year – along with upgrades to lighting, video and interactive technology – live music will be introduced to the show, with featured special musical guest, Birds of Bellwoods.
“Last year, we rode the Olympic wave and carried the momentum through the Thank You Canada tour – a fulfilling project that truly allowed us to connect with fans coast to coast,” says Virtue. “This year, it’s critical that we elevate the production and generate authentic entertainment in new and creative ways. Scott and I have spent our career striving for more, taking risks, and daring ourselves to be better
our approach to this is no different.”
Adds Moir, “The goal for Rock The Rink is to be something that fans of skating and live entertainment will look forward to year after year, knowing that it will always be a can’t miss night,” adds Moir.
“We want to give people a memorable experience and broaden the scope of what can be done in the show skating realm,” continues Virtue. “We are ready for fresh and innovative ways to share our passion with audiences across the country!”
"I'm honored to be a part of such a unique and innovative production,” reflects Chan. “Anyone that has followed our careers understands our dedication to creativity and entertainment. We want each and every person to be a part of an experience and not just a ‘show’. What we're creating hasn’t been done before and I can’t wait to show it to the fans."
The production will tour from coast-to-coast across Canada, and will include a few select U.S. cities as well.  The cast will again feature Canadian greats, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, Patrick Chan, Kaetlyn Osmond and Elvis Stojko. The show will also be bringing some world-renowned skating talent from Europe and the U.S..  Italian Olympic Medalist and World Champion, Carolina Kostner, and Italian World Champions, Anna Cappellini and Luca Lanotte, will each tour in North America for the first time, while Olympic Medalist and four time U.S. National Champion, Jeremy Abbott, will return to Canadian touring for the first time in seven years.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, May 3 at rocktherink.com. The cross-country tour launches Saturday, October 5 in Abbotsford, BC and will hit over 30 cities before wrapping in St. John’s, NL.  The tour, which is presented by Round Room, is proud of its continued relationship with Bell Media as the official tour media sponsor.

Attendance Down For Memorial Cup
Attendance Down For Memorial Cup #MCMemorialCup @MCMemorialCup
(WINDSOR, ON) – With the dust settled, except for the Spitfires’ victory parade tomorrow, a startling statistic has emerged from Windsor’s hosting the 2017 version of the Memorial Cup. Windsor’s attendance was the lowest in the past five years of the Cup’s competition. In fact, a general trend has been fewer spectators attending the venue since Vancouver in 2007. Then, with a nine game series, a

Now that I live in Red Deer, I thought it was time to start support the local hockey team, the Red Deer Rebels!!! (what took me so long lol) I am now obsessed and cannot wait for the season all over again next year.
The first game I attended was on Friday, March 31st at the ENMAX Centrium in Red Deer. They played against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. We won 5 to 3, last period with only 3 minutes left, we scored to make it even and once again to win the game! I was at the edge of my seat the entire game, there was fights and awesome game play the whole time. Quite impressed with the team and their talents, excited to go again soon.
Here are some photos from the winning game night!

Canadian country music superstars Dallas Smith and Dean Brody are teaming up this fall to cross Canada on tour together for the first time. The duo are crowd favourites, hit-makers, and good dudes who know how to entertain the hell out of an audience. And we’re sure that’s exactly what they’re going to do from the first date to the last.
The Friends Don’t Let Friends Tour Alone tour announcement comes after the news that Dallas and Dean would be joining forces in Toronto on September 21 at the Budweiser Stage. At the time it felt like a big deal, and now, with 25 more dates (and more still to come) it’s even bigger. The opportunity to see this show isn’t just a Toronto event now, it’s nationwide!
Related: 2019 Toronto Country MegaTicket Announced with Dallas Smith and Dean Brody!
And if you were excited about the Wastin’ Gas and Bring Down The House singers, you’re going to love the additions of Chad Brownlee and MacKenzie Porter. It’s another layer of Canadian talent (two actually) that country music fans are going to be able to sink their teeth into from the moment the show begins.
Note: Rising star Jimmie Allen will represent the American country scene when he joins the tour for the Toronto and Ottawa stops. This dude is everything that you hope he is, and then some. Don’t miss him if you’re going to those shows.
With a list of hits and fan favourites a mile long each, Dallas Smith and Dean Brody could play all night. We know that the schedule won’t allow them to, but they could. And while that’s a little bit of a bummer, the good news is that they’re both going to fill their two-hour collaborative setlist (that’s right, two hours of Dean Brody and Dallas Smith together on stage) with songs that fans love, can dance to, and will be able to sing along with at the tops of their lungs. It’s going to be a good, good time. It’s going to be a party. And we’re willing to bet that the fans fortunate enough to see a Friends Don’t Let Friends Tour Alone show will remember it as one of the biggest Canadian country music shows they’ve ever seen.
One other thing to keep in mind here is that Dallas, Dean, Chad, and MacKenzie all have lots of country music friends in Canada. They’ve all worked with a ton of other artists, they all have networks that stretch from coast-to-coast, and that could mean surprise guests. We aren’t going to make any predictions right now, but there’s a list growing in our heads that makes a whole lot of sense when you start connecting the dots.

Tickets for the Friends Don’t Let Friends Tour alone dates will be available on March 8 at 10 am local time, with VIP packages also available for sale. And if you choose to go the VIP route you’re looking at an intimate performance and meet and greets with Dean and Dallas, along with an exclusive merch item, and early access to the venue.
Check out the dates that have been announced so far, be ready to get your tickets for a show near you, keep an eye open for more dates, and hit play on the Spotify playlist below to give yourself a little taste of Dean Brody and Dallas Smith’s Friends Don’t Let Friends Tour Alone tour!

Live From Red Deer
Live From Red Deer
I had the privilege to see the incredible City and Colour in my city of Red Deer, Alberta. The show took place at the Enmax Centrium which was recently the host of the 2016 Memorial Cup. The floor was all seating which was new to me. I am used to shows that have massive mosh pits and crowds that are so tightly packed that you feel like a sardine. It was nice knowing that if I needed to leave that

Memorial Cup Numbers Low
Memorial Cup Numbers Low
(WINDSOR, ON) – If attendance is any guide, Windsor’s version of the Canadian Hockey League’s venerable MasterCard Memorial Cup will not reach the high water mark set last year by Red Deer, AB. It is simply mathematically impossible given current attendance numbers. After five games in the championships, Windsor’s average attendance was 5,326. But the average doesn’t tell the whole story.

What an amazing show the Harlem Globetrotters put on for us here at the ENMAX Centrium in Red Deer on Friday, March 3rd/2017!! Was at the edge of my seat the entire time! Ace, Beast, Cheese, Dragon, Hammer, Hi-Lite, Firefly, and Hot-shot was the team that came and showed up the All-Stars team and won the game.
If you ever get a chance to see them live, I would recommend them to anyone, such an amazing experience. Here are some photos of the action from the team and the amazing girls from Dance Magic Studio perform their routine:
