I was curious so i'm doing a deep dive on Marc's career the beginning of his world championship career to 2019 (I would do it to now but I'm going to make his post 2020 injury career as it's own series cause it feels like a different chapter in his career and I also think i'll need a bit more time to do that one cause it'll be more challenging to research and read all the articles about what Marc went through at that time. I'll also probably do a seperate post about his career before the world championships, so the spanish championship and i'll see if i can find anything on his enduro and motocross years) I think I'm going to make this multiple posts due to the photo limits as i want to include pictures of what i'm talking about (it will probably be 2008/09 together and then each season after that will be its own thing and maybe even multiple posts for each year as i want to do a deepdive into each race.)
The Deep Dive into Marc Marquez career - statistics, podiums, wins, injuries and world championships (Part 1)
125cc Career (Part 1)
2008
Marc joined the world championship in 2008 at the age of 15 racing for the Red Bull KTM team, he had to withdraw from the first 2 races of the season due to a right arm fracture that he sustained during the pre season also during a TNT interview from 2014 with Marc where Gavin Emmett is a guest host he says Marc showed up to the paddock for the first time and had two broken ankles. His first race was in Portugal where he came 18th. He scored his first every world championship points at the next race in China finishing 12th. In his 6th race he got his first podium, making him at the time the youngest person to get on a podium in the world championship. In the remaining 7 of 9 races of that season Marc DNF'd 3 times and finished in the points 4 times. He had to withdraw from the final 2 races of the season due to an injury caused by a crash in practice at Sepang (It's a cursed track I swear). This accident caused both his legs to be trapped between the back wheel of his bike and the swingarm, this resulted in a dislocation of the cartilage of his right tibia, he had to go back to Spain for surgery. Despite 4 withdrawals, 4 DNF's and 2 non point scoring races Marc finished 13th in the standings with 63 points.
2009
In his second year in the 125 class Marc started the season off in Qatar with a DNF, it was then onto Japan were he finished 5th, he then got his second career podium at the Jerez GP. Marc DNF'd 4 times in 2009 (one of them being Germany, that didn't happen again until 2023 were he DNS), he had 2 non points scoring races. His highest non podium finish was 4th and his lowest was 17th. He also became the youngest pole sitter in the class at the age of 16 years and 68 days. Marc finished this year in 8th with 94 points.
#marc marquez#MotoGP#this is my first time doing something like this I hope it makes sense#its so fun learning more about marc as i do this and i can't wait to learn more#I'm writing about his 2010 season now and it should be up hopefully soon but I'm going into external exams so it might not be up as quick#as i hoped it would be#i hope you enjoy this

Biker/Motorsport AU stuff (Can't really draw but still want to dump these somewhere)
Hank stuff
-Hank would be an excellent track racing pilot if he wasn't so hard to work with. For now, he sticks to (mostly illegal) road racing where he makes a name for himself among police officers who despise him
-He's been jailed more than he'd like to admit
-Hank is very talented, but this makes him cocky. He's totaled many bikes and the list will keep growing
Dei stuff
-Despite his attempts, he can't keep many friends. Other bikers find him too obnoxious and flashy
-Dei's friendship with Hank forms gradually, they just cant stop running into each other. Let's call it fate
-Deimos has wanted to expand into enduro for ages but couldn't afford it didnt have the balls to do it: thankfully he's befriended someone (hank) who is enough of a criminal to attack a dealership
-They manage to steal One dirtbike. What follows is them taking turns at competitions to gather enough money to buy a second one
Sanfo (and 2b) stuff
-Sanford is a mechanic Now, but was a dedicated car rally driver for years
-His co-driver was. A certain cranky old fart
-They made an incredible team but shit happens. They'd keep in touch
-2B moved from rallies onto GP racing: a change of pace but proved how good he was at managing a team
-When hank&dei come to san telling him about their competition plans he's like huh. I know a guy
-Said guy was not planning to make the jump to motorcycles but he saw the potential in the two bozos. And also san asked real nice
-Status quo escudería forms. Chaos ensues
Status Quo y asociados stuff
-They are rather succesful. For the first few years at least
-As i mentioned earlier hank does Not do teamwork, and dei becomes 2B's golden child in a way
-Naturally (as is the case for many pilots within a team) a rivalry begins to brew between them. It did not end well
#im dying to design all of their racing suits but ive no juice left in the tank#oh well#madness combat#madcom#biker hank#also i think hank's comfort zone is definitely the track. asphalt even. but hes also the type of guy to push himself#and his boyfriends are awfully motivating#hehe

Happy birthday JACKY ICKX!!!!!!!!!!!!! (01/01/1945) ⚡💜
“The fact that I am still alive after 100.000 laps is my championship.”
Jacques Bernard Ickx, better known as Jacky, was born in Brussels. He's the son of Jacques and Marie, he also has an older brother called Pascal, who was an aviator that later would also become a racing driver before his younger brother. Motorsport was part of Jacky's life since the beginning: his father Jacques was involved in racing before switching career to become a renowned motorsport journalist; thanks to that Jacky picked up the interest in racing and speed, and slowly wanted to be able to take part in the world of mototrsport. His chance came at the age of 16 years old, when he started racing, not on four, but two wheels: the young Belgian started his journey riding a Zündapp, in categories such as trial, enduro and pure speed. It turned out that he was extremely successful, especially in the 50 cc trials, winning both the Belgian and European championships. But quickly his interest turned to the world of four-wheel racing, he began in touring car racing, at the wheel of a Lotus Cortina, with which soon he gained in 1965 the national saloon car championship. The following year will turn out to be an extremely busy one for Jacky, at only 21 years old he took part in more than 50 races, like the 24 hours of Daytona, winning the 24 hours of Spa and partaking for the very first time at the 24 hours of Le Mans; that very same year he also made his first entry in Formula 1, thanks to the racing programme created by Elf and Matra to help french-speaking aspiring drivers.
At the wheel of an F2 Matra MS5-Cosworth, on the infamous circuit of the Nürburgring, Jacky took part in his unofficial first F1 race, although it would be a disappointing one: after colliding with another car, he was forced to retire from the race after only one lap. From that race on, in 1967, Jacky kept racing for Matra, both in Formula 2 and 3, to be able to gain more experience that would help him to win the F2 Championship. It's at the Italian GP that he had a proper and official Formula 1 entry: at the wheel of a Cooper-Maserati, the young Belgian performed brilliantly, finishing in 6th place. After such an impressive performance, teams started to advance their offers, but the most important one was from Franco Lini, sporting director for Scuderia Ferrari. In '68 it was announced that he would be the new Ferrari driver, joining Kiwi Chris Amon in the Italian team, becoming the youngest driver line-up at the time. In his first year in F1, Jacky managed to score his first victory at the French GP and had brilliant performances like the one at his home Grand Prix, at Spa, the one at Brands Hatch and Nürburgring, where he drove almost the entire race without his helmet visor under the heavy German rain. Yet, it came as a surprise when the Belgian driver decided to move to Brabham for the following season, but it turned out that the decision was mainly influenced by John Wyer, manager of the Wyer sports car team, whom didn't want to lose the talented driver to the Ferrari's sports car team. The season started with a series of poor results, but his performance definetely improved in each race. He stepped on the podium in France and Great Britain, he took victories in Canada and at the Nürburgring, where he also took pole position and fastest lap, scoring his first grand slam, and finished the year as runner-up for the championship. For the '70 season Jacky moved back to Ferrari, a decision he made since the '69 Italian GP; he would stay with Scuderia Ferrari for the next three season, which turned out to be not particularly significant: he still gained a few more successes but often the car would have relibility issues, leading him to the decision to leave the team halfway the season. His next move was to move to Lotus, but unfortunately he joined the British team in a very precarious situation: the performance of the car was poor, and often Jacky outperformed the uncompetitive car; once again the Belgian left halfway the '75 season. From 1976 Jacky started racing for the Wolf-Williams team, slowly heading towards the end of his F1 career, since from '77 on he would sporadically race for teams like Ensign and later for Ligier, in which he ended his career in 1979.
Despite having quite a good F1 racing career, often showing his worth and talent, Jacky actually shoned in endurance racing. He partook in endurance races like the Spa 24 hours, 6 hours of Daytona, he won twice the 12 hours of Sebring, three times the 1.000 km of Monza, but the one race in which he excelled at the most was the 24 hours of Le Mans, which he won 6 times and held the record for most wins at the French competition for 23 years.
In the early 80s he also participated in off-road races like the Paris-Dakar, which he would win in 1983 before retiring from racing.
Jacky always showed to be particularly good at racing in wet conditions, joining the list of the few rain masters. He also excelled on the extremely dangerous circuit of the Nürburgring, where 'superior driving skills could beat superior machinery'.
Despite retiring from Formula 1, Jacky has always remained involved with the sport, for example during the mid 80s he became the race director of the Monaco GP. Till to this day Jacky visits F1 paddocks regularly.
#HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAAAAACKY AAAAAAH#💜💜💜💞#jacky ickx#classic f1#f1#formula 1#retro f1#f1 1960s#f1 1970s#f1_bdays

Hey there! If you're reading this, you're probably one who craves adventure and endurance in every sense of the word. Today, let’s dive deep into the Garmin Enduro™ 3 – the newest release from Garmin that promises to keep up with your wildest endurance dreams. I have to say upfront – this watch is not just another gadget to count steps. It’s the real deal. Whether you're hitting those mountain trails or training for that ultra-marathon, this beast might just be your new best bud. Built Like a Tank, But Light as a Feather Alright, first things first – the design. We know the Garmin Enduro™ 3 isn’t going to win any beauty pageants, but honestly, it doesn’t need to. It's all about functionality. This thing is rugged! It’s like having a tiny tank strapped to your wrist, yet somehow, it doesn’t feel like you’ve got a brick weighing you down. Lightweight but durable – a perfect mix for anyone serious about their training. Garmin Enduro™ 3: A Game-Changer for Endurance Athletes The Garmin Enduro™ 3 is more than just a watch – it's an ultra-durable GPS multisport smartwatch designed for serious endurance athletes. Whether you're an ultra-runner, cyclist, or adventure enthusiast, this watch promises to keep up with even the most grueling challenges. Its main selling points? Rugged durability, unbeatable battery life, and a wealth of performance-tracking features to help athletes reach new heights. Why I Decided to Use the Garmin Enduro™ 3 I’ve always been an endurance athlete who’s serious about tracking performance, especially on long runs or intense bike rides. I was on the lookout for a smartwatch that wouldn’t need charging after every session and could handle rough environments without breaking a sweat. Enter the Garmin Enduro™ 3. I decided to give it a go because it seemed like the perfect tool to track my performance across multiple activities and let’s be real, I wanted to see if its battery life could truly live up to the hype. What I Hoped to Achieve My main goals were to improve my endurance training with more accurate data and have a watch that wouldn’t die on me mid-run. I was also hoping to find a watch that could do it all – track my runs, rides, and hikes – while giving me real-time performance insights to up my game. Garmin Enduro™ 3 Performance: Speed, Reliability, and Everyday Usability When it comes to performance, the Garmin Enduro™ 3 pulls its weight – or rather, it doesn’t, since it’s surprisingly lightweight despite being packed with features. But let's break it down, focusing on how well it handles day-to-day use, from speed and reliability to any hiccups along the way. Speed and Responsiveness The Garmin Enduro™ 3 is fast where it counts. Navigating through menus, switching between activity modes, or accessing GPS functions happens in an instant. You don't experience any annoying lag or waiting times when pulling up essential data mid-run or mid-workout. GPS Speed: Locks onto satellites quickly, even in dense areas like forests or urban spaces. This was impressive, especially when heading out for early morning runs when I expected to wait for a GPS signal. Data Processing: The watch processes performance metrics almost in real-time. Whether you're glancing at your heart rate, pace, or altitude, it updates fast enough that it feels intuitive and reliable. Verdict on Speed: It’s quick enough to keep up with high-intensity training without any interruptions. If you’re serious about performance, the Garmin Enduro™ 3 handles real-time data and transitions smoothly. Reliability Reliability is where the Enduro™ 3 shines. The Garmin Enduro™ 3 delivers consistent performance whether you're on your first mile or your 50th. Battery Life Reliability: The advertised battery life isn't just marketing hype – it’s the real deal. I’ve gone through multiple long runs, hikes, and rides without worrying about charging. Even when using features like GPS or performance tracking extensively, the battery holds up like a champ.
GPS Accuracy: The GPS is spot-on, even when running in areas where signal drops are common, like under thick tree cover or through urban canyons. No weird dropouts or miscalculations on distance – it tracked my routes with precision every time. Weather Durability: I’ve used this watch in a variety of conditions – rain, sweat, dust, and the watch didn’t flinch. It’s built to handle anything you throw at it, whether it’s a tough race or a muddy hike. Verdict on Reliability: The Enduro™ 3 does exactly what it promises and never makes you feel like you're carrying a fragile gadget. It’s durable, trustworthy, and dependable in every situation. Does It Meet My Needs? Absolutely. My main needs were solid endurance tracking, reliable GPS, and long battery life – and the Garmin Enduro™ 3 nails all three. I’ve used it for everything from tracking long-distance runs to analyzing post-workout recovery, and it hasn’t disappointed me. It easily handles intense training sessions, whether it's a short, fast run or a multi-hour trail marathon. The battery life alone makes it an ideal companion for endurance athletes, and the wealth of data the watch collects helps me refine my training strategies. Issues or Limitations Though the Enduro™ 3 is mostly a dream, there are a couple of minor hiccups that could be better: Solar Charging: The solar charging feature isn’t as groundbreaking as I hoped. It extends the battery life a bit, but if you’re expecting a significant boost, it won’t blow your mind. It’s a cool bonus but not a game-changer. Interface Complexity: For those who aren’t used to Garmin devices, the sheer amount of customization and features can be a bit overwhelming. It’s not super intuitive at first, and you may find yourself sifting through menus or needing to reference the manual a few times. Wrist Comfort for Smaller Wrists: The watch is quite large, which can make it feel a bit clunky for folks with smaller wrists. It’s something you get used to, but the bulk can be a minor downside when worn for extended periods. Verdict on Limitations: While the minor issues are worth noting, they don’t outweigh the watch’s overall performance. The sheer durability, speed, and accuracy of the Garmin Enduro™ 3 far exceed any minor complaints I have. Final Thoughts on Performance If you’re serious about endurance sports, the Garmin Enduro™ 3 is built to keep up with your workload. It’s fast, accurate, and reliable even in extreme conditions. Though it comes with a few small limitations, they’re easily outweighed by its standout features and bulletproof performance. Whether you’re heading out on an all-day adventure or pushing your limits on a long run, this watch has your back – and then some. Garmin Enduro™ 3 Features: Packed with Power and Performance The Garmin Enduro™ 3 isn’t just your average fitness watch. It's fully loaded with features designed to help you optimize every aspect of endurance training, from real-time data tracking to personalized recovery insights. Let's dive into its main features and see how each one stacks up. 1. amazing Battery Life What it is: The Enduro™ 3's battery can last for weeks. It has a power-saving mode and solar charging to stretch its life even further. How it helps: For ultra-endurance athletes, battery life is critical. The longer the watch stays powered, the more data you can track over long distances and durations. No need to worry about it dying halfway through a race or a multi-day adventure. Usefulness: 10/10. This feature alone is a game-changer for anyone doing ultra-events or spending days in the wild. 2. Advanced GPS Navigation What it is: Garmin’s top-tier GPS offers precise navigation, even in tricky terrains like dense forests or mountainous regions. How it helps: The GPS helps keep you on course during long-distance events, outdoor adventures, or trail runs. You can follow routes and even retrace your steps if needed.
Usefulness: 9/10. The GPS is spot-on, helping with both safety and performance, but it drains a bit of battery when used heavily. 3. VO2 Max & Performance Metrics What it is: This feature gives you detailed insights into your aerobic fitness by calculating your VO2 max, along with other performance metrics like cadence, stride length, and heart rate. How it helps: By understanding your VO2 max and heart rate zones, you can optimize your training intensity and recovery. It helps pinpoint where you can push harder and when to pull back, ensuring you maximize your gains. Usefulness: 9/10. These metrics help you train smarter, not harder. It’s essential for building endurance and improving overall performance. 4. Recovery Time and Sleep Tracking What it is: The watch analyzes your body’s data after each workout to give an estimated recovery time. It also tracks your sleep to monitor how well you’re recovering overnight. How it helps: Recovery is key to preventing injuries and improving performance. The Enduro™ 3’s ability to give real-time recovery insights helps you avoid overtraining, while sleep tracking ensures you’re getting the rest your body needs. Usefulness: 8/10. The recovery insights are spot-on, though sleep tracking can sometimes be hit-or-miss if you're a restless sleeper. 5. Multi-Sport Modes & Customizable Data Screens What it is: Whether you’re running, biking, swimming, or hiking, the Enduro™ 3 has specific modes for each activity. You can also customize the data fields to show only the stats that matter most to you. How it helps: This versatility makes the watch a powerhouse for athletes who dabble in multiple disciplines. The customizable screens allow you to focus on the metrics that directly impact your performance, like pace, heart rate, or distance. Usefulness: 9/10. Customizing the watch to your specific needs gives you more control over how you track your workouts. However, setting it up can be a little overwhelming at first. 6. Solar Charging What it is: The Enduro™ 3 has solar panels integrated into its design, which recharge the battery when you're outdoors. How it helps: Perfect for long adventures or races where you don’t have access to a charger. The watch keeps juicing up under the sun, extending the battery life even further. Usefulness: 7/10. While it’s a cool feature, the solar charge isn’t super fast. It’s great for keeping the battery alive longer but won’t fully recharge the watch. 7. Water Resistance What it is: The Garmin Enduro™ 3 is water-resistant up to 100 meters. How it helps: You don’t have to worry about sweat, rain, or even swimming with the watch. It’s built to handle whatever conditions you throw at it. Usefulness: 8/10. It’s perfect for triathletes or those training in all weather conditions, though not much use if you don’t plan on taking it swimming. 8. Garmin Connect Integration What it is: This allows you to sync your watch data with the Garmin Connect app, where you can review detailed stats, set goals, and compare your performance over time. How it helps: Having a hub for all your training data helps you see the bigger picture of your progress. You can analyze trends, adjust your training plan, and stay motivated by seeing improvements over time. Usefulness: 10/10. The integration is seamless, and the app provides valuable insights to fine-tune your training and recovery strategies. Final Thoughts on the Features The Garmin Enduro™ 3 comes with an impressive set of features that truly cater to endurance athletes. Each feature feels purposeful and geared towards improving performance or keeping you on track, whether it’s through data tracking, navigation, or recovery insights. While there are a few small quirks (like solar charging not being a total game-changer), the overall functionality and usefulness of each feature make this watch an excellent investment for athletes serious about their training.
Garmin Enduro™ 3 Review: The Ultimate Watch for Endurance Athletes Hey there! If you're reading this, you're probably one who crave adventure and endurance in every sense of the word. Customizable Data Screens: Keep all the data you want (and none that you don’t) front and center. Not Just for Runners Sure, the Garmin Enduro™ 3 is a runner’s dream, but it's not just for runners! Cyclists, triathletes, hikers, and even CrossFit enthusiasts can get a ton of value from this powerhouse. The multisport mode means you can track whatever impulsive activity you’re into with just a quick switch of modes. Also, a quick shout-out to the sleep tracking feature – which, let’s be real, is probably telling us all we need more shut-eye! The Price Tag: Worth It? Alright, now here’s the elephant in the room. The Garmin Enduro™ 3 is not cheap. It’s definitely on the pricier side, and I get it – dropping that kind of cash on a watch can be daunting. But here’s the thing – this isn't just a watch. It’s a training partner, a navigator, a coach, and even a motivational buddy when you need it. If you’re serious about endurance sports, this investment will pay off in ways you can’t even count. Final Thoughts on the Garmin Enduro™ 3 So, is the Garmin Enduro™ 3 for you? If you’re the kind of person who thrives on pushing boundaries, whether through long-distance running, cycling, or outdoor adventures, this could be the perfect fit. It’s a tough, feature-packed, and long-lasting piece of gear that’ll help you conquer those goals you’ve been eyeing. Still, if you’re just starting out and aren't doing multi-day ultra-marathons just yet, you might want to look at a more entry-level option. But for the endurance junkies – this watch might just be your new ride-or-die.

The Significance of Mountain Bike Shops: Mountain bike shops serve as the hub of the cycling community, providing riders with essential gear, expert advice, and a sense of belonging. Moreover, they offer specialized services such as bike fitting, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring that riders' equipment is in top condition for tackling rugged terrain.
Beyond retail, mountain bike shops play a crucial role in nurturing a sense of community among cyclists. They serve as meeting points for group rides, where riders of all skill levels come together to explore trails, share tips, and forge friendships. Additionally, many shops organize events, workshops, and races, fostering camaraderie and promoting the sport's growth.
Exploring the Offerings: Stepping into a mountain bike shop is akin to entering a treasure trove for cycling enthusiasts. Here, riders can find everything they need to enhance their riding experience, from high-performance bikes to specialized gear. The inventory typically includes:
Bikes: Mountain bike shops offer a diverse selection of bikes, catering to various disciplines such as cross-country, trail riding, enduro, and downhill. Whether you're a novice rider or a seasoned pro, there's a bike suited to your needs and preferences.
Components: From suspension forks and dropper seatposts to drivetrains and brakes, mountain bike shops stock an array of components to customize and upgrade your ride. Knowledgeable staff can help you select the right parts to optimize performance and comfort.

This includes moisture-wicking jerseys, padded shorts, protective gear, and durable footwear tailored to withstand rugged terrain and varying weather conditions.
Accessories: In addition to bikes and apparel, mountain bike shops carry a plethora of accessories to enhance your riding experience. This may include hydration packs, bike racks, tools, lights, GPS devices, and nutrition products to keep you fueled during long rides.
Fostering a Cycling Culture: Beyond the products they sell, mountain bike shops play a vital role in fostering a cycling culture that celebrates camaraderie, stewardship, and environmental conservation. Many shops actively engage in community initiatives, such as trail maintenance projects, advocacy campaigns, and youth programs aimed at introducing new generations to the joys of mountain biking.
Moreover, mountain bike shops serve as advocates for responsible riding practices, promoting trail etiquette, and environmental stewardship. By educating riders about Leave No Trace principles and sustainable trail management, they help ensure that trails remain accessible and enjoyable for future generations.
Mountain bike shops are more than just retail outlets; they are vibrant hubs that bring together cyclists, foster community, and support the growth of the sport. Whether you're in need of gear, guidance, or camaraderie, these shops provide a welcoming environment where riders of all backgrounds can come together to share their passion for mountain biking.
A karmoskerekeknek szentelt "játszótér"? Lapozz a folytatáshoz! World Championship of Custom Bike Building, a különleges motorkerékpároknak szentelt rangos "világbajnokság" színhelyéül szolgál. Car on the Beach-nek, a nagy amerikai autós találkozónak is, amelyen több mint 200 amerikai gyártmányú autó gyűlt össze. A rendezés? A Cruisin' Magazine és az Old School Garage, a pordenone-i székhelyű csapaté, amely meleg fogadtatásban részesítette az Olaszország minden részéből, sőt külföldről is érkező számos szektor klubot, valamint számos "független" résztvevőt, akik sietve érkeztek. Lapozz a folytatáshoz! Minden bizonnyal több ezer kilométert tettek meg a nyeregben a Nagy Motorosok, akik péntek este a világ határain tett hőstetteiknek szentelt konferencia főszereplői voltak. Most a 2024. május 9-12. közötti hétvégére, a 38. Biker Fest International rendezvényre került sor. Előbb azonban Padovába repülünk az American Dreamre (október 13-15.): várunk benneteket!ket!
