#Emmett just had no personality in the movie and Elle and Vivian have a better dynamic

ok!! so, I kind of have 2 separate au's cuz I think that the musical and movie are different enough to warrant 2 different au's. anyways-

for the musical au, Nancy would take the role of Elle and Robin the role of Emmett. I know Nancy and Elle's personalities don't fully align but I will make it work anyway. I was thinking of making Steve take the role of Warner cuz that makes sense but then I had the silly idea of having Steve take the role of Brooke. Warner and Vivian would just be like original characters cuz I can't think of anybody else to take their place (I thought of Jonathan as Warner but it just wouldn't really work in my eyes.) Joyce would take the role of Paulette cuz idk it just makes sense to me and Tom Holloway (if you don't remember who he is, he was the boss at the Hawkin's Post) would take the role of Mr. Callahan. It would basically just follow the same plot as the musical.

Now for the movie au, Nancy would still be Elle but Robin would be Vivian instead of Emmett (cuz for the movie, I shipped Vivian and Elle way more than Emmett and Elle.) Steve would take the role of Warner and Joyce and Tom would take the same roles. Basically follows the same plot except at Harvard, Steve and Robin aren't actually dating, they're just fake dating (for a reason that I can't come up with right now but I just don't wanna make them actually date.) Robin would dislike Nancy at first because of what she's heard about her from Steve and because she thinks of her as priss. But she gets to know her better and they become friends (faster than Vivian and Elle actually do in the movie)

They study together and spend time together, and Nancy finds herself focusing less on getting back with Steve and more on Steve's 'girlfriend'. And when Nancy gets hit on by Tom and tries to leave, Robin is the one who begs and convinces her to stay. Then basically the same stuff that happens in the movie happens and Nancy and Robin end up together and they're happy and gay and in love blablabla, I haven't put that much thought into the movie au cuz I like the musical better tbh..
