His voice is a little tinny through the speaker, but it’s the same deep, delicious tone that helped catch her attention all those months ago. “Just seems unnecessary, s’all.”

“It’s necessary if you want to see my tits again before you fly out here.”

There’s a long pause where she thinks she’s annoyed him, or that he’s going to tell her that’s fine and he’ll deal with learning Snapchat when he damn well pleases, but then he heaves a sigh and she smiles because she knows she’s won.

“Fine,” he says, sounding resigned instead of annoyed. “I’ll set it up and tell you when it’s done.”

“Perfect,” she says, grinning from ear to ear. “I got some new lingerie last week I was gonna save for your next visit, but maybe if you’re real nice I’ll let you get a peek.”

“Hmm.” The little noise he makes in response makes goosebumps roll over her skin, and now she’s certain he’s actually going to download the app sooner rather than later. “Can’t wait to see, honey. I gotta get back to work.”

“Me too,” she says, like she’s not already working. “Talk later.”

“Bye,” he says, and then the line goes dead.

It’s either the promise of seeing her breasts again or the tease of new lingerie, but she gets a text from Joel just after eleven that night, a little after ten his time, after Sarah’s gone to bed that has nothing but a username in it.
