shotgunxturk:
“Yes they have … you just can’t see it because you’re still part of them.” One of the first lessons she had learned from Reno was about cults and people. Folks didn’t have to be gullible or weak; they just had to be nosy. And most people in a cult didn’t realise they were indoctrinated until they broke away from it.
The Turks had changed beyond what she recognised as the group she loved. They had been a family, once. But Shinra had broken that … a bit of a strange grudge to hold when they had all begun working for the old man. But now, years later, there was a schism. Tseng, Reno, Rude, Emma’s little sister and a handful of others had remained with the company, regardless of the dark truths that had some to light.
The experiments that resulted in Genesis, Angeal and Sephiroth. Hojo allowed run riot. Aerith Gainsborough. Vincent Valentine. Kalm, Corel, Veld leaving and apparently murdered with his daughter. Nibelheim. Zack Fair. Meteor. Deepground.
Taking a step back, away from her old comrade, Frey shook her head and picked up her old familiar shotgun from leaning against the wall. She had no intention of using it against Reno, and hoped that wouldn’t change. “So you can feed more information back to the company? No.”
Tumblr media
Another shake of her head and she took another step backwards. “You made an informed decision to come to this village and chase someone the company should leave forgotten. That’s enough.”
he hadn’t made an informed decision. he had been handed a sorry excuse for an intel file and told to see if there was a lead to follow. part of him had been hoping he’d end up finding someone with a passing likeness to the SOLDIER, or at most - a cousin or something. he certainly hadn’t expected to find kunsel. or to find him shacked up with freya.
all those late nights decompressing after a tough job, downing shots or patching each other up. long days cramped in a cockpit and countless other jobs ... and it all counted for nothing now.
okay.
pursing his lips, reno nodded his head, watching his former friend pick up her gun.
‘ you judge those who are left by what the old bastard did. ’ reno answered flatly. arching his unbound feet against the floor, the turk pushed backwards, tucking his chin to his chest as the chair teetered back past its centre of gravity and clattered to the ground.
she’d bound his hands tight, no doubt there, the parallel rungs of the chair’s high back digging into his shoulders. he’d spent the whole time he’d been conscious testing the binds to no avail. but she had obviously been under a time constraint and not expecting to end up with some unconscious turk in her apartment because she hadn’t bound his feet, or his wrists to the actual structure of the chair.
arching his back when the chair hit the ground, reno hiked one of his legs, his boot catching on the bottom rung of the chair so he could shimmy back off of it. getting his bound hands out from behind the felled chair, reno kicked it hard, sending it skittering across the floor towards freya, buying him enough time to bring his bound wrists under his legs and to the front of his body - still bound, but they were more use at his front and not behind his back.
the back of his head thumping with renewed vigour, angry at his sudden burst of movement, and his shoulder aching with annoyance at being wrenched to its limits, reno bit down on the inside of his cheek and got his feet back under him.
Tumblr media
‘ you were as complicit as the rest of us back then, freya. we were all skippin’ on down the road t’hell. ’
@proxnotxaxfool from here.
No, she wasn't shitting him. If anything, this very situation proved she wasn't pulling his leg in any way.
They had always gotten along, her and Reno. He was brash, he was arrogant and skilled ... but game recognises game. And entitled recognises entitled. Her family were one of the richest on Gaia, having been one of the first to settle in Mideel ... and there were certain aspects she had recognised in the wiry laid-back second-in-command. He was born into money and hid it well. But the Tummelts; of all the rich families, they had little competition.
Maybe that was why they'd gotten along so well and been partnered on so many missions. Maybe Veld or Tseng had seen something neither of them had. At one point Freya had let her imagination run ahead and think maybe they might have been more ... but Veld and Tseng had assigned her another mission.
Cissnei was assigned to Zack and her to Kunsel; get close to the SOLDIERs and find out intel to do with the defection of Genesis and Angeal, the mass-defection and anything of note.
Tumblr media
"They have no right to track him when they never bothered with us!" The words were hissed and low and Freya was surprised at her own tone. She was letting her emotions get the better of her and that was a recipe for disaster. Stop. Breathe and think; the facts of the matter and the variables.
The Turks that defected were left to their own devices, but Zack had been hunted to his death, Cloud Strife driven to near-insanity, the world almost destroyed because of Shinra's experimentation with Spehiroth ... and now finally when there was some semblance of normal life. "This is a fool's errand, Reno."

Mikey, whining: Takemitchy.
Takemichi: Is something wrong, Mikey-kun?
Mikey: Emma kicked me out.
Takemichi: What?! Why?
Mikey: Said she got tired of my shit. Which I can't even comprehend! I'm such an amazing roommate and brother all together.
Takemichi: What did your grandfather say?
Mikey: He just said that it was bound to happen one of these days.
Takemichi: What are you going to do now? Will you stay over at Draken's?
Mikey: No, I can't. The girls threw me out after last time.
Takemichi: I'm afraid to ask what happened.
Mikey: Just a misunderstanding. Anyway, I can't stay over neither at Baji's, Mitsuya's or anyone else for that matter for reasons that totally don't corelate and I'm not to be blamed.
Takemichi: Oh, no. I realized where you're getting at.
Mikey: Takemichi, my favorite person, beautiful, beautiful, 'Mitchy. Will let me sleep at your house this week and make me the happiest man on earth?
Takemichi: Why are you kneeling.
Mikey: Is this a yes?
Takemichi: It's either yes or being thrown out of Toman. So, yeah, sure. What's the worst thing that can happen.
*Three days later, police are outside of Takemichi's house*
Takemichi:
Mikey: I can explain.

Do you think artists these days can survive without sm? Some artists got million of followers but it hardly corelates to their record sales. As for movies, wouldn't the studios be responsible for promotion rather than the stars themselves. I ask this because some of the comments on sm are downright toxic and disgustling.
Saoirse is doing just fine with no socials. Emma Stone is doing just fine with no socials. Dan Radcliffe has no socials. JLaw doesn’t have socials. Paul deleted Instagram because of the comments and how thirsty hoes were. I think early career it’s harder without socials because it’s more difficult to connect with fans but there are people who do it.

10 Best Alternatives to Adobe Photoshop
Adobe’s creative suite has become one of the most successful bundles for creative and among the many applications, Photoshop is the most popular of them all. With the capabilities of professionally re-touching images or altering your vector graphics into an image, Adobe Photoshop is one of the best solutions to image-editing in the market. However, many times the use of Photoshop may be limited to cropping your image or putting a filter on it, and while Photoshop does offer these basic features, buying the application on a subscription fee for basic needs seems wasteful of resources. Here are a few alternatives to Photoshop that offer similar functionalities.
Tumblr media
PicMonkey
PicMonkey has one of the simplest user interfaces in the entire list, but do not let the minimalist appearance fool you as the image editor can offer a host of options for you to create perfect visuals. Right from adjusting your photo to adding frames and stickers, the application lets you take over all the editing options by just uploading your picture on the website. The application is free of cost and is available for use through its website.
Canva
Canva has recently gained fame for offering an unlimited amount of customization so that you can personalize your images. Canva is perfect for new users as its template-based process is easy to understand for beginners. Canva also offers many graphic elements that allow you to create designs and offers some of Photoshop’s popular functionalities like layering. Canva is a free-of-charge application that can be accessed on any device through its website.
Pixlr Editor
Pixlr Editor seems like Photoshop’s twin as both of their interfaces are quite similar. Pixlr is faster and much more intuitive than Photoshop. With many express features, Pixlr can be very fast with image editing using features like one-click enhancement. However, learning Pixlr from scratch can be a task as there aren’t many tutorials available for new users to learn about its features. Pixlr can be accessed on any device through its website.
GIMP
GIMP is well known in the Linux world as one of the best image editing software and its Windows and Mac alternatives are nothing short of excellent. GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) offers a comprehensive set of tools in a fun and easy interface while its functionalities are robust enough to handle RAW files at ease. With a plethora of features like Blending, Layering, and custom brushes, this image editor can be your go-to alternative for Photoshop. The best part about GIMP is that it is free-of-charge and is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux so that you don’t miss its functionalities on any kind of a system.
Acorn
While it cannot completely replace Photoshop, Acorn and its Mac-based support system make it apt for all kinds of users. Be it light to moderately heavy tasks, Acorn can handle all of those with lightning-fast speeds. Their development programs let the users into the experience with visual tutorials that can be easily followed. Some of Photoshop’s prominent features are also added in the application including custom brushes, PSD import, and export among many others. Acorn is available for Mac at $49.99
Pixelmator
This Mac-only image editor has received many updates recently and they have made it one of the best Photoshop alternatives available for Mac. The user interface is similar to that of Photoshop and experienced users may feel right at home. Its multi-monitor support makes for a great workstation alternative and a thriving community of users can help you learn the application in no time. Pixelmator also takes advantage of all the Mac features that are missing from Windows. Pixelmator costs $29.99 making it one of the cheapest options for image editing.
Paint.NET
If you are looking for a free Photoshop alternative designed specifically for Windows, Paint.NET is the best option you have. The origin of the name comes from the famous drawing application for Windows called Paint and it was designed to replace the application. Paint.NET has a built-in image editor that works perfectly with the drawing tools offered to the user by the application. While it may not provide many advanced features like Canva or GIMP, if your work doesn’t involve heavy image editing, Paint.NET is the perfect tool for you.
Serif PhotoPlus X6
Serif PhotoPlus X6 has a loyal base of users that prefer it’s simple yet efficient interface. PhotoPlus X6 is a great application due to a host of features like processing of RAW images, editing multiple images, and fast response time. The best part of the Serif PhotoPlus X6 is its growing community that offers insights into the application for both new and experienced users. The community helps its users with video-based tutorials as well as written instructions that can be easily used to increase productivity. Serif PhotoPlus X6 is available for Windows at $89.99.
Corel PaintShop Pro X6
Corel is widely known as a close second in the image-editing space and its PaintShop Pro X6 proves it. With a community that aims to educate new users about features and functions, the PaintShop Pro X6 is a perfect image editing application for the starters. The application supports advanced skills like Auto Selection, Smart Selection, Brush editing, and much more. PaintShop Pro X6 is perfect for people who deal with a large set of images and prefer bulk-editing. Costing around $69.99, the application is available for Windows.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12
While this isn’t exactly the full version of Photoshop, it offers all the basic functionalities of Photoshop without compromising on the crucial bits. Be it pictures for social media or your birthday card, Photoshop Elements will solve your problem. Photoshop Elements also works on layers like its parent and provides a unique tutorial-like guide that will help you to learn more. Available for both Mac and Windows for USD 69.99, this makes for a great ‘lite’ version of PhotoShop.

Interesting thoughts on saviors. Maybe there really is no corelation and Emma and Aladdin are just heroic light magic users who got sucked into battles that weren't theirs to fight? I mean, turns out Jafar was really Jasmine's nemesis and the EQ has always been Snow's. Maybe their role should have been more like Merlin's instead and that's why savior's don't get happy endings? Didn't you use to speculate Jasmine would actually be the savior? Congrats, kinda happened? But I wonder if we're (cont)
(cont) still missinga part of the story. Jaladdin are supposed to be back and didn’t peoplespeculate we’d get to see the first savior (possibly Tiger Lily), so maybethere’s more to it. Idk, I at least hope that’s not all, I thought the scarabwould be back and that Aladdin would rediscover his magic. Also, if it’s reallyrandom, than that whole savior mythology storyline doesn’t really make a lot ofsense? Anyway, they should get into what makes a savior. I think they are aninspiration.
Hi Nonny, thanks for dropping by!I agree, saviors are an inspiration and what we’ve seen Emma do best is givepeople hope and inspire them to be their best selves. She’s encouraged peopleto fight for their own happy endings, and we are watching her fight for ownhappily ever after right not. It’s certainly not an easy fight, and the handtremors of doom have certainly demonstrated the toll that fighting has taken onEmma. But even though she’s tired, and the fight has been difficult, and shemay have slowed her pace recently, it looks to me like she’s caught her secondwind and is going to be pushing back hard from now on.I do think that Rumple set Emma up as the savior for everyone caught up inRegina’s curse, he wanted to make sure he’d get his memories and magic backafter all so he could continue his search for Bae. But I agree that the EvilQueen is/was more Snow’s villain. It makes sense that Rumple purposefullycreating a loophole in the dark curse that would allow it to be broken, is whatmade Emma a “savior” – she initially had a specific purpose and goal toaccomplish. Once the original dark curse was, for the most part, broken Emmaand the other heroes started banding together to fight off whatever new big badhas been introduced, with Emma having the added benefit of using her lightmagic (which is conveniently taken away for “reasons” whenever necessary). SoEmma still carries the mantle of savior, but her fight, to me anyway, is moreof a shared battle lately than was the first challenge of breaking the darkcurse.
As for Aladdin, it remains a mystery as to why heis/was a savior. Did he have a singular purpose or goal to accomplish like Emmabreaking the dark curse, or did he just work to help out anyone in need whocame to him? Much of the time between his first meeting with Jasmine and hisfirst fight with Jafar and the confrontation with Jafar in that isolated homeremains a mystery. What we do know though, is that a savior who does not have asupport system from which to draw strength is weakened by the constant fight. Atthis point though, the entire savior mythology remains a mystery – are theymade because someone has a need, are they born when the balance of light anddark has been tipped too far into the darkness, are they triggered when a largegroup of people are in danger from a single villain? I’m hopeful we get someanswers before the finale, but I’m not holding my breath.
As for Jasmine and Aladdin, we know we’ll be seeingthem again, so I am assuming that we will find out whether that TLK did morethan restore Agrabah and release Aladdin from the genie’s shackles, and whetherAladdin’s savior power has been restored. I’ve had my doubts about theeffectiveness of the shears since Regina’s potion was able to track Aladdin tothat crypt by creating a link between his savior magic and Emma’s. I think alot of us were left wondering whether it would have really worked if Aladdin’smagic was truly gone. Plus, now that Jasmine and Aladdin are TL, I think we’llsee Jasmine offering Aladdin the same kind of support that Killian and Henryoffer Emma. In other words, if Aladdin gets his powers back but still suffersfrom hand tremors, I suspect that Jasmine’s presence will stop them.
The big question is, how does Aladdin get his powersback – TLK or something else? The shears are likely out of play as of 6x14, butI am still wondering if there will be some magical object that reverses theeffects. This season has been about the characters questioning themselves, making decisions that change their fates, and at times using magical objects tomake the change. Logically, there should be some object that would have thepower to bind someone to their fate or to restore their path if somethinghappened to change it prematurely, something to balance the fates’ shears.Maybe it is the scarab, does Henry still have it, or did he give it to Emma? But whether by magical object, or because of Jasmine’s TL support, I suspectthat Aladdin will be savioring again by the end of the season.
Although yes, way back in August after they showedthe clip with Aladdin and Jafar at SDCC I speculated that it would actuallyturn out that Jasmine was the savior, not Aladdin. I can’t believe anyoneremembered that! At the time, it seemed like Jafar walked away too easily andhe had something more to do. I guess after 6x15 we know what that was –shrinking Agrabah and its citizens down to fit into a 3 carat diamond. But Igot the impression that getting Aladdin to use the shears on himself was just abonus for Jafar, did you think that too? Then, lo and behold, it turns outJasmine has the key to Jafar’s ultimate victory all along, and so Jafar gotAladdin out of the way so Jafar could focus on his goal and get Jasmine to giveup the ring.
[As an aside, is there a parallel to be had withJafar making sure that Aladdin was out of the way, and Gideon making sure thatKillian is out of the way? Huh, maybe. I’ll have to give that one some morethought, but it does bring to mind 6x03 and references to people being pawnsand being removed from the chessboard, no?]
As for Tiger Lily, I’ve been speculating with @hooks-and-feathers (who also had a lot to say about the scarab) for a whilenow that Tiger Lily is another fairy. Although, making her the third saviorthat’s been hinted at is not out of the realm of possibility. But if Tiger Lilyand the Black Fairy had some sort of connection in the past, it might makesense if they were both fairies, especially since we also know Killian has aconnection to Tiger Lily too, and he doesn’t seem to have had the best trackrecord with fairies in his pirate days. Cf.Tinkerbell. I’m actually starting to wonder if this other savior that’s beenhinted at is someone that the Black Fairy sacrificed in some stylized ritual tocreate the Dark Realm. Very unlikely, but just a thought I had.
tl;dr – Emma as the savior was not random at all,Rumple built a loophole around her to ensure the dark curse would be broken.Aladdin as a savior, the payoff will likely come in the finale now that he hashis TL to support him and help him find his path. Nine-year-old-girl develops website, mobile app
A nine-year-old child and grade five pupil of Skycrest School Lagos, Miss Emmanuella Oziofu, has showcased  her  website, www.emmasacademy.com,  and her mobile app,  Emma’s ICT Academy.
The occasion was at Ladi Lawal Press Centre, Alausa, Ikeja.
Showcasing her website and mobile app to journalists, Oziofu said they were created to  make the younger generation to develop interest and teach them about Information Communication Technology  (ICT).
She said her mobile app is available for download on google play store.
According to her, “the purpose of the mobile app is to teach the younger generation like me on the ICT skills I’ve acquired, the app is free and adults can also download and use it as well.”
Oziofu, who possess uncommon intelligence and passionate about ICT, has diplomas in Desktop  Publishing, Advance Excel,  Adobe Page Maker,  Advance Power Point and Corel Draw.
On her plans for the near future Oziofu said “My plans are to build some websites focusing on health,  offer free ICT training for children my age on Saturdays,  Sundays and during holidays.
“I ‘m also planning a boot camp for young people in the near future. My target was to become a professional web designer and analyst at age nine and I have accomplished it,” she said.
Oziofu said at the eight, she created three websites for her former school, Fortune Schools, Benin, Edo;  had her own chat site and  a personal website.
She disclosed further that she was  on a quest to gain more knowledge  about programming languages and artificial intelligence.
The Nation Online Editor,  Mr Lekan Otufodurin,  who was the chairman on the occasion,  said  young people  should be given the necessary support to develop their talents to put the country in a positive light.
Otufodurin, who is also passionate about ICT, urged journalists to develop themselves and learn more about communication technology and multimedia skills to keep abreast of developments and at par with global trends.
He stressed the need for journalists to stop content providers from taking over the profession, adding that this was the only way they could remain relevant in the profession.

Exhibits at Fashioned from Nature include an outfit made from leather off-cuts and surplus yarn, Katie Jones, 2017, a jacket and skirt from Bruno Pieters’ Honest By, and a dress made with Vegea, a leather alternative ; Image by: Victoria and Albert Museum; London
In 1859, the style-setting Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III of France, wore a bonnet decorated with a stuffed hummingbird, setting off a fashion fad of using small birds to decorate dresses and hats. Bird parts and feathers had been used to dress hair, bonnets, ball gowns and accessories in Europe since the 1770s; even entire birds were used in 1829-30, when birds-of-paradise appeared on hats as a novelty. But the French queen reignited the fad of using small birds like hummingbirds, tanagers, swallows and robins, and, needless to say, it led to the death of millions of birds.
“Fashion designers also often try to improve on nature to make it more pleasing to the human eye, and rarer,” writes Edwina Ehrman, curator of Fashioned from Nature, an exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, in an email interview. “An example of this in the exhibition is a late 19th century hat decorated with a starling. The bird has had its feathers supplemented with those of another bird, probably a goose or swan, and the hat maker has arranged the bleached, dyed and painted feathers to suggest a larger, more exotic species.”
With around 380 exhibits, mostly from Europe, the exhibition, which opened on April 21 and will run till January 27, 2019, explores the complex relationship between European fashion and the natural world since 1600.

While nature dictates fashion cycles through seasons, it has also inspired fashion in various ways. The work of botanical painters, for instance, provided butterflies, flowers and insects as common embroidery motifs, while printed cotton chintz from India—which drew heavily on floral patterns—was much in demand. “Textile patterns have drawn on the natural world for centuries, certainly long before the advent of printing. But in Western European fashion, printed books on natural history and gardening became a key source, which are still important today,” says Ehrman.
A Gucci handbag designed by Alessandro Michele for the autumn-winter collection in 2017, which is screen-printed with a pair of male stag beetles copied from a natural history book written by Thomas Moffett in 1634, is part of the exhibition. Other designers, too, have used nature in a more personal and reflective manner. Christian Dior’s signature look comes from his first collection and the Corelle line: It features a narrow stem-like torso that bursts into full skirts like a flower. While Alexander McQueen often highlighted the more sombre aspects of nature: His last appearance in 2009, for the spring summer 2010 collection, addressed Charles Darwin’s evolution theories, along with global warming concerns.

Fashion has also taken from nature—not just raw materials like cotton and silk to make the second skin that humans wear but, over various periods, materials like whalebone, sealskin, furs, turtleshell, ivory, reptile skins as well as beetle wings, prized for their iridescence. In the 1800s, beetle wing cases were exported from India, as well as stoles, dress panels and flounces embroidered with beetle wings. The brilliantly coloured, iridescent feathers of the male monal pheasant, native to Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and China, were another prized decoration.
If these also sound like a list of banned materials and protected species, it’s because they probably are. Each seasonal, cyclic fad led to the destruction and killing of species, prompting corrective action. “From 1890 to 1910, when Canadian seal-hunting was particularly intensive, the population of northern fur seals was reduced from 5 million to some 300,000. In 1911, an international treaty gave them protected status,” says Ehrman.

The fashion industry’s demand for raw materials, constantly rising, has had an impact not just on animal populations but also on the environment. That’s why Ehrman decided to focus, along with nature, also on the problems caused by the industry and on sustainability as she became increasingly aware of the growing number of national and global initiatives—such as the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, and the 2015 report by the United Nations Environment Programme which outlined excessive consumption as a major cause of environmental degradation—to reduce its environmental and social impact, and make it more sustainable.
“I felt we were reaching a tipping point in public opinion, and that the time was right to be bold and use the exhibition to explore the causes, effects and solutions for the challenges we face today,” she says, adding that during the course of curating and researching for the exhibition, she was shocked by some of the industry statistics, particularly its pollution rating. “We have been conservative in placing it as one of the top five polluters. Some say it is the second most polluting industry on the planet.”
Dyeing of textiles has always caused water pollution, but with the rise of fast fashion and technology, other factors like land, air and people, come into play. “Fast fashion responds rapidly to consumer demand, with ever more efficient production and supply chains encouraging larger wardrobes and the notion of ‘disposable’ fashion. The business model has also ratcheted up the industry’s environmental impact,” says Ehrman. Between 2000 and 2014, global clothing production doubled, and a 2017 study by The Global Fashion Agenda in collaboration with The Boston Consulting Group projected fashion consumption to rise a further 63 percent by 2030.

The industry’s various initiatives to reduce its environmental impact are highlighted at the exhibition. They range from designers using innovative materials—a dress made with Vegea, a leather alternative made from grape waste; a Ferragamo ensemble made from ‘Orange Fiber’ derived from the Italian citrus industry’s waste; and actor Emma Watson’s Calvin Klein dress made from recycled plastic bottles—to brands committing to use organic and sustainable practices and in the case of Patagonia, even asking consumers to buy less. During the 2011 Black Friday sale in the US, the outdoor clothing company ran an advertisement in The New York Times with an image of one of their jackets and the line ‘Don’t buy this jacket’, suggesting that buyers might have enough.
Other initiatives by brands include transparency: Bruno Pieters’ Honest By and London-based designer Martine Jarlgaard are making their garments’ production history and impact available to consumers: Honest By publishes the information on its website, while others have ‘smart labels’ that can be scanned to trace a garment’s journey.
The challenge fashion faces is enormous, says Ehrman, but governments, industry, business, science and design are coming together to find solutions. “Recycling and reusing to dramatically reduce fashion’s utilisation of virgin raw materials, and cutting down its consumption of water, chemicals and fossil fuels, are priorities. Consumers are also increasingly aware and responsive to the need for change and we need to build on their potential power to demand better.”

SHYNESS- an unheard power
Being shy is not a shameful thing- is not an insult. Infact introverts and socially timid may make better bosses, learn faster and even be more emotionally mature than their louder mouthed counterparts. Most shy people are modest, they are the last ones to announce their accomplishments or let the world know how great they are. Shyness doesn't mean that people are anti-social, they are selectively social and enjoy small groups. When I was young, I was tongue tied and very shy. It was terribly painful for not being part of the group; but it gave me the ability to be more observant, a listener and a watcher. While growing up, I used to hear- " You are so shy! Why are you so bashful?" Youth conferences used to make me uncomfortable because there used to be so many new people. I used to know the answers in the class but never had the courage to raise my hand. There was a phobia- what if I say the wrong answer, my friends would laugh at me. Shyness was like an immovable barrier . But with time I realised that after having so much knowledge, if I stay in my cocoon, it's hard to become a butterfly. Overcoming shyness is all about practice by putting oneself in situations like debates and related activities. So just do it. Push yourself to get out there and talk to somebody. By pushing part shyness, your foot will be taking a giant step towards success. Though Shyness makes people spend more time reading, learning, focusing, listening, observing and imagining. It becomes miracle when traditional ideas are challenged. With Shyness comes attentiveness, independence, thoughtfulness, insightfulness and approachability. One most important benefit of being shy is the development of listening skills. Sure shy people may not be the self involved chatterbox of the party, but they are vastly more beneficial. Their shy silence allows them to open their ears- to be keen listeners- a life skill that comes naturally to them. If you are shy or socially anxious, you probably tend to wait before you take action. This trait can be helpful when it comes to many life decisions. Thinking carefully and planning before taking actions are important for many of life's hurdles including planning for the unexpected. Interestingly, in Indonesia, word shy is also a word for shame. Shame is an intense and irreparable feeling of core inadequacy and unworthiness. Impact of shame is secrecy and an inability to access reality. I mean, really?? In words of Marco Battaglia- ' Shyness is simply a human difference, a variation that can be a form of richness'. While extroverts tend to gain their energy in social situations, introverts typically recharge their energy through solitude. It might be easy to assume that those who gravitate towards the spotlight of fame are extroverts, but the truth is that many of our most prominent faces have actually been spotted as introverts. From Abraham Lincoln, Emma Watson, J.K. Rowling to Mahatma Gandhi and T.S. Eliot, Shyness has built many great people. Albert Einstein has very well said- " The monotony and solitude of a quiet life stimulates the creativity of mind". Mahatma Gandhi known for his non violent resistence said- " In a gentle way, you can shake the world". J.K. Rowling- the famous writer who made our childhood interesting with her story recalls that she first had the idea of Harry Potter when she was travelling alone. Susan Cain- the famous author known for her world famous book -" Quiet- the power of introverts in a world that can't stop talking. She beautifully illustrates how quiet people are actually utilising their worth and are capable of doing it. She has started a quiet resolution. For far too long, those who are naturally quiet, serious or sensitive have been overlooked. The loudest have taken over- even if they have nothing to say. It's time for everyone to listen. It's time to harness the power of introverts. It's time for QUIET. One has to unlock the hidden superpower and give oneself the tools to make a mark in one's own quiet way. Being an extrovert is good; but being an introvert is not bad at all. It doesn't matter whether one is shy or not. What matters is how one treats life, how they accept the challenges and face the world with happy faces. Shyness doesn't stop one's ability to succeed; what stops them is the unwillingness to succeed. Success and shyness is corelated. You just need to push yourself towards success. It is unheard success. Mehak Gupta Grover

Also kein wirklich einfaches Thema was die Autorin hier behandelt hat.

“Yes they have ... you just can’t see it because you’re still part of them.” One of the first lessons she had learned from Reno was about cults and people. Folks didn’t have to be gullible or weak; they just had to be nosy. And most people in a cult didn’t realise they were indoctrinated until they broke away from it.
The Turks had changed beyond what she recognised as the group she loved. They had been a family, once. But Shinra had broken that ... a bit of a strange grudge to hold when they had all begun working for the old man.
@proxnotxaxfool from here.
