SXSW 2021: Fruits of Labor
Tumblr media
In case you missed it, we had the honor of being part of Emily Cohen Ibañez’s last film, ‘Fruits of Labor’. Since the premiere at the SXSW Festival, the documentary has been avowed as Official Selection of several festivals all around the scene. It tells the story of Ashley Solis, a young Mexican student who works in the California’s strawberry fields to support her family. Her dream is to become the first member of her family to graduate from high school and be able to go to college. However, along this journey not only are a series of private intimacies are shared, but also an unquestionable political revelation. So, under that premise, the main titles design became a little window to the in-world happening inside the protagonist’s mind. With a touch of innocence and fantasy, we present a dreamlike piece where the audience can dive a little bit deeper into the true soul of the project.
