If you don't mind oc questions, how does Nyoka, Emilio and Cecil feel about the prefect?
Do they see MC as a nuisance? Or someone interesting for managing to deal with 4 overblots? Excluding Jamil, Vil, and Malleus since it wasn't public to the entire school and since book 7 isn't finished yet
I ACCEPT OC QUESTIONS!!! they keep me from dwelling on doom :’) 💖 I know I answered something similar to this before but I’m going to use this to do better since this is non-specific (my old answer sucked anyway since I was unprepared). For simplicities, sake I’m going to disregard all OBs since the general Prefects involvement with them is barely addressed in a diegetic way to begin with outside of Book 3. So that’s a non-factor going forward.
——
Across all three boys I think they probably find the Prefect/MC to be a nuisance. But mostly framed under that “NRC great-mages-in-training with huge egos” finding the fact that a human with NO magic gets to be a student there (with Grim) for #reasons to be kind of insulting. It’s just a territorial and pride thing common for majority of the students there. These three aren’t exempt from that. But, they do act out in different ways.
Since Emilio is so shameless, Emilio will take any potshot to undermine the Prefect’s status, accomplishments (if any) and their popularity, even is this popularity is more so “infamy” than anything else (which it is). They are in the same grade level, so encounters are more frequent. I think he probably sees a bit of himself in the Prefect, and ends up projecting onto them more than he should. He’ll probably warm up eventually though depending on how development goes, but it will not be an easy task, assuming this Prefect is a general good faith person. And yes, he would apologize and take every moment to atone for his behavior if they ever became friends.
Cecil, despite his own issues, would rather ignore the Prefect and generally wants nothing to do with them. I don’t think he’d be mean like Emilio, just a little snarky if they crossed paths. But he’s just naturally pretty snarky despite his bumbling nature. He wouldn’t do anything though. He doesn’t know it yet but it’s not really in him to be all that mean. He does know that Housewarden Malleus regards the Prefect highly, but can’t understand why. If the Prefect were to an extend a friendly hand first towards Cecil and remain persistent (persistence is key), then Cecil would eventually come around tenfold. I think a Prefect friendship would do Cecil some good. Maybe even improve his magical performance even— who knows 👍
Nyoka sees the Prefect as prey. A mouse, even. That is food. However, in general Nyoka doesn’t regard the Prefect at all and would rather ignore them. This is pretty easy to do since they wouldn’t be too likely to cross paths. If they did though, in a non-confrontational way provided they keep a respectful distance, he would be deferential and civil. On paper this sounds good, but this is not exactly a warm scenario. Rule of thumb is to just not engage. If they did somehow frequently cross paths and a Prefect were to remain respectful of his space (and perhaps engage with his interests) then maybe that civility would become genuine. He might find the idea of a predator becoming slightly chummy with prey a little amusing, in its own way.
lol like how I spun this into “BUT WHAT IF FRIENDS???” Scenario
THANKS BYE

if you were to have an oc that wasn’t a Yuu
(or if you breathed life into a nameless background character)
which dorm would you probably put them in or focus on?
I actually have a few non-MC original characters! Four of which are students at NRC.
The characters I have are shared with @cozymochi
This includes Cecil Mugwort, Emilio Estrada Alvarez, and two characters who have not yet debuted yet oooo!! 👀👀
I’m going to talk about Emilio because it was actually a comment I made during me and Cozy’s watch of Elena of Avalor that inspired his creation, his signature spell and placed him in Scarabia!
Spoilers for Elena of Avalor! (You should still watch it btw)
A core part of Esteban’s character is his ability to predict things that often goes ignored by other characters.
But the moment that really made me go “he’d totally be in Scarabia” is the scene where he is arrested in the dungeon and he convinces a member of the royal guard to get him a statue his dead mother gifted him by fake sobbing.
Once he gets it, he smashes it to reveal he hid a key in there 40 years ago when the woman he helped seize his uncle’s throne took power, just in case she ever betrayed him.
If that’s not Scarabian foresight, I don’t know what is.
I think a lot of people don’t think of Scarabia too often, both because there are only two canon characters in that dorm, and also because those two characters aren’t very popular.
The students there are meant to be more inclined to being mindful, to judge and plan carefully. Someone like Emilio, who is so obsessed with status that he does everything correctly and outstandingly, and his literal magic allows him to have sound judgment and make careful decisions, is perfect for the dorm.
And I kinda got attached to giving Scarabia little trio scenarios lol

CHOCOLATITO VS. MARTINEZ – FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

Eddie Hearn “Welcome to San Diego ahead of a huge night of boxing this Saturday available all around the world on DAZN. Headlined by an incredible fight in the Super-Flyweight division between the pound-for-pound legend Chocolatito and the WBC flyweight world champion Mexico’s Julio Cesar Martinez.” “Of course, yesterday, we were here in San Diego for the press conference to announced Canelo Alvarez against Dmitry Bivol live on DAZN PPV May 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. “I had goosebumps when I saw Chocolatito and Martinez come up on the stage because as a fight fan, this fills me with so much excitement. Six weeks ago, it was announced as Estrada vs Chocolatito the trilogy, when I got text that Juan Estrada won’t be ready for March 5. “I started thinking about the possible replacements, maybe a fight with Ancajas the other world champion or somebody else in the division. Then I thought about this crazy Mexican we represented called Julio Cesar Martinez, the WBC world flyweight champion and I thought he wouldn’t take that fight, would he? I texted Eddy Reynoso asking if he’s interested and 30 second later, he said, my crazy guy is ready. “This is one of the most exciting, dangerous pound-for-pound fighters in the sport against one of the absolute all-time legends of the sport. In a sport that is so difficult to make big fights, I want to say thank you to both men for accepting the challenge and giving us what I believe a fight we will never forget on Saturday night.” Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez “The pleasure is mine, when the Estrada fight well through, but today we have a great opponent in Martinez. When they offered me that fight, I accepted it with pleasure, we’re in excellent in condition thank God for my training team and camp. I’m hoping to God we walk away with our hand raised in victory. “I have an opponent that comes forward but I’m going to come forward, it’s going to be a tremendous fight and I think the fans are going to be really happy with the fight. “I love all the Mexican people; I’ve had the opportunity to fight against many Mexican people. I know Nicaraguan people are going to come out here and support, but the most important thing is we have God on our side. He gives me the strength and the blessing; I hope to walk away with my hand raised in victory.” Julio Cesar Martinez “It’s a big challenge, I’m very excited and motivated to be fighting a big legend like Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez. I want to thank him for choosing us in this big fight, like I say with everything but fear, anywhere and against anyone. “I want to thank the fans and people for their support. As always I want to wish that we both come out well from the fight God willing and to keep making history – this is just the start. “As always, we’re prepared for everything, decision, for it to be a clash, a technical fight. We’re coming in here well trained; I want to make sure the public walks away with a good taste in their mouth.” Mauricio Lara “I’m very happy to be making my professional debut in the US on this big card between Chocolatito and Martinez. I’m very happy and as always, you’re going to get a war. “I’ve learned a lot in recent times, I’ve made a lot of drastic changes both in my corner and in myself. This fight you’re going to see a different Mauricio Lara. “After having fought in front of 22,000 fans it’s good to be coming back home with a Mexican crowd.” Emilio Sanchez “I’m very excited for this fight, I believe in my skills and that I can beat Mauricio Lara this coming Saturday. “I’ve studied Lara very well, he has great power put it’s nothing new to me, I’ve fought guys like him before. I believe I can beat him. “Me beating Mauricio Lara will put me right back in the mix, put me in the rankings and that’s what I look forward to doing.” Angel Fierro “I’m happy to be returning and I always give good fights, I’ve demonstrated that in the past, this is not an exception. This a big opportunity and you’re going to see fireworks this Saturday. “After this victory over Burgos I’m going to be asking for those opportunities whoever may be, I’m looking for those world titles opportunities.” Juan Carlos Burgos “It’s going to be a very interesting fight because it possesses some of the ingredients that makes it interesting between me and Angel. It’s going to be a fight between youth and experience, you want to stay tuned to this fight and the fans will walk away from this fight very happy.” Souleymane Cissokho “He’s young, hungry, he can punch so that’s good for me. I can’t wait for Saturday night to take care of business. “Valenzuela is a good opponent, he has a good record and a lot of knockouts, that’s good for me to challenge for the world title for sure. This year I want to challenge for the world title and I have to pass this first test.” Roberto Valenzuela “It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m aware of that, it’s my opportunity to shine and to make myself known, make sure everyone knows my name after my performance this Saturday. “It’s a great opportunity, an undefeated fighter but I train to win, I’m going to demonstrate that it was a bad decision to have faced me. I’m going to show him what fighters are really made of.” Diego Pacheco “I’ve been around for a while, and I feel like a lot of people forget I’m still 20 years old. I’ve made a few changes in my camp, linked up with Jose Benavidez, Team Benavidez, camp has been great. I’m excited to show the world a new Diego Pacheco this Saturday. “My first three fights as a pro were at 160 and it was kind of tough back then, I felt like I was still growing so I might as well go up to 168. I was already on weight two week before coming to San Diego so Jose said you could make 160 easy and with the right camp, I feel like 160 would be a good weight class for me. Get a title there first and move back up to 168.” Marc Castro “I’m definitely ready for another big show this Saturday with Matchroom and DAZN. I’m ready to just display my talents here in San Diego. “My main goal was always since the beginning to just focus on my lane, stay in my lane. Work hard in the gym, stay humble and I’m beating all the guys for a reason. I’m not stopping now. “I’m not overlooking this guy, I’m going to take care of business in spectacular fashion, get the win and hopefully return in Las Vegas.” Skye Nicolson “I’m really excited, it’s been a whirlwind, a huge journey but I’m absolutely loving the process and I can’t wait for Saturday night. “The best Skye Nicholson is against quality opponents and that’s why I wanted this fight, I wanted to fight someone who’s coming in there to win. That’s why you’re going to see my best performance.” “I’m loving all of it, I think the fight’s just going to be the cherry on top. I absolutely love the whole experience and I’m just soaking it all up.” Anthony Herrera “This is my second pro fight and I’m just looking forward to it, Saturday is the same thing I did in MSG and I’m real excited. “I enjoyed MSG a lot, I love New York and everything about the pros, it’s a lot more freedom than the amateurs. I’m just real excited because I’m now here in California, my folk and supporters and coming to watch me, I’m going to put on a show for them. “I just want to take it a fight at a time, make sure I perform right and that’s all that really matters. Everything will take care of itself.”

I had a bad day, so I compiled the few NRC boys I have. Also corrections were made on all three both visually (because I made too many errors before that I missed🤦) and info wise because I made minor changes (so if there’s contradictions, that’s why.) I should have updated Emilio’s render altogether because it’s pretty old compared to the latter two, but I don’t feel like it.
But, I’ll link Emilio, Cecil, and Nyoka’s original posts anyway, since they include a bunch of expressions I still like and convey the vibes™️ better. That, and for my own self-reference. Okay, I will no longer spam or clog up the dash with these things. Also credit to @oddberryshortcake cuz the boys are also semi collaborative 🤭 uhh, that’s it.

Does Emilio have his signature spell? If so, what does it do?
Of COURSE he does. AND SORRY ABOUT THE WALL OF TEXT.
Emilio’s signature spell/unique magic:
“This is True”
Allows him to truthfully answer almost any question asked of him about the person asking. He functions as something of an oracle.
While it grants Emilio a level of all-knowingness, it is limited in scope with many stipulations.
• “This is True” can only provide answers that relate to the person asking, not about anyone else nor matters outside of the person asking. So, he isn’t exactly useful in terms of trying to get dirt on others via his magic. He cannot do that. And he can’t ask the questions.
• There must be physical contact with him and the person asking the question. Palm-to-palm is his go-to, but it doesn’t seem to matter.
• Emilio‘s magic will not allow him to hide the truth once he has received a proper answer to a question, whether he or the receiver likes the answer or not.
• A person can as ask as many questions about their past and present as they like (within reason, obviously not in a single round). It will always be true. He can tell you things about yourself that you may have forgotten about like a memory, or where you left your keys. Whatever one can think of so long as it’s about themselves.
• A person may ask about their future, but they only can ask one question and receive one answer. Once someone ask a question about their future in any capacity they cannot ask Emilio any question about their future ever again. Period. So don’t waste it, or don’t ask. The future is far too uncertain, but his answer will always be a true one out of many possibilities, if vague. Besides, he doesn’t like doing it!!
It is currently unknown how much his magic will evolve, if at all. The limited scope makes his magic accumulate little blot, though it can accumulate much faster if it’s about the future. Yay for caps.
Note: The spell name is Esteban’s catchphrase. Emilio’s magic inspiration is primarily derived from Esteban’s habit of warning people and predicting events that nobody around him heeds, and usually being right. In Elena of Avalor, that kinda sets off his weird betrayal flip-flopping villain arc he never commits to. Emilio’s magic also doubles as a reference to the Oracle in Aladdin and The King of Thieves which I only realized after the fact. Neat.
#cozy ask#twstposting#probably cant answer anything outside of a humans lifespan if its about the past#so no deep fae or silver lore for him.#and no prefect lore either. they are not from twst :(#and cant answer questions from grim either for reasons he doesnt know. bruh is also an anomaly#not unless its the present.#so i guess to anyone else he’s a shitty oracle.#emilio estrada alvarez#twst oc#and no bruno jokes he is not that.

I don’t remember how I used to organically introduce concepts so I’m ripping the bandaid off. As part of a joint effort, another Scarabia student was made up because chronic brain rot does this. Emilio Estrada-Alvarez is some pompus little first year twisted from Chancellor Esteban from Elena of Avalor. oh wow, so neat. Very cool. He made an early appearance with early characterization in a friends fic, so let’s pretend this is art for that and not something we did long before it existed.
A Worthy Heir on AO3 by @oddberryshortcake (it’s completed too how wild!!) Bonus stuff i couldn’t fit:

Oo I love Elena of Avalor, what's Emilio's relationship to his cousin like? and his dorm mates?
[😳💕 IN REFERENCE TO THIS DIP]
Gonna answer these questions in reverse to test the waters. I briefly mention it on his bio image but I think I mixed up the subject pronouns in my sentence structure when referring to his relationship to the other guys 💀 i realized too late that it reads awkwardly- SO LEMME CLARIFY.
🦜 Emilio’s relationship to Kalim 🦦: Kalim —much like how he wants to treat any first year in his dorm— really wants to seem like some really cool older brother to his younger peers. Emilio finds this sunny disposition a lil’ off putting to a degree BUT…. Emilio does wanna get close to Kalim if only to elevate his own sense of worth and perceived status. Which can translate to Emilio being something of a bootlicker. Not Sebek level, but whatever lets him seemingly advance.
He doesn’t necessarily care about Kalim’s wealth per se, heck Emilio himself is already from a noble family in his home country— but being close to the Kalim Al-Asim looks really good on the outside in Emilio’s mind. “Humble” little Emilio managed to network with THE Asim heir? Now that’s something worth talking about, especially back home. Business is one thing but to be in his inner circle? That’s very special.
In general their relationship is amicable, but It’s hard to say if Emilio actually cares for Kalim on a personal level, if at all. But Kalim definitely cares for him as he does for anybody else. It’s probably the least complicated.
…Which segues into-
🦜Emilio’s relationship Jamil 🐍: Jamil does not like Emilio, and Emilio views Jamil as an obstacle. So naturally he wants to get in Jamil’s good graces as much as possible too! Emilio frequently tries buttering up Jamil in some shape or form via giving him information he’d find valuable or emulating how Jamil treats the other students in the dorm to “set an example.” If Jamil rejects an impromptu party, Emilio is right there to second that notion!! (Note: only applies if Jamil is present) He tends to, dare I say… parrot Jamil…? 😉
But unlike Kalim, Jamil is not as easy to sway. He can spot a fake smile a mile away. At first, Jamil assumed something far more nefarious about Emilio’s intentions, but that dissipated quickly after investigating further.
…That said, Jamil will use Emilio’s desperation to get in good spirits with Kalim (for as surface level as they are). It makes Emilio rife for exploitation. Jamil will often test the waters to see how far Emilio is willing to go, without actually giving him much of an inch in return… But, Emilio has his practical uses. He has his own invaluable connections, and underneath all that phoniness is someone genuinely capable with an eye for detail that most in the dorm don’t seem to have.
At first, Jamil didn’t trust Emilio at all because of his incessant behavior… and now?? I mean he still kinda doesn’t cuz Jamil is just like that, but he eventually learned Emilio himself is generally harmless and his interest in Kalim is purely surface level for petty vanity reasons. …That and Emilio is similarly from a noble family, so Jamil doesn’t want conflict to start with should anything crop up. He has yet to figure out why a guy from a noble family like Emilio would feel the need to overcompensate so much. Why would he feel the need to elevate his status, shouldn’t he already have it? And for that matter, why go to so much effort?
That said, as much as Jamil finds Emilio’s constant - and I mean constant- schmoozing annoying, in an ironic twist it makes Emilio seemingly the only somewhat capable person he trusts in the dorm to watch Kalim should Jamil be out of commission for arbitrary shenanigans of the month. He both trusts and doesn’t trust him, it tends to flip back and forth. They’re kinda both “useful” to each other.
…Kalim thinks Jamil and Emilio are best friends.
✨NOW FOR THE PERSONAL LORE✨.
🦜 Emilio’s relationship to his cousin 💎:
Much like anything in this universe, Emilio’s relationship with his cousin more or less directly parallels the source his whole character draws from.. So, it’s parallel to Esteban’s relationship with Elena minus the indirect hand in parental death (side note: This show is bonkers). I feel like I’m not doing many favors by NOT going into depth on the Esteban and Elena stuff, but for the sake of brevity on the long post I’m going to have to leave it out. Watching the series informs a lot of the directional choices here, but that’s an unreasonable ask. So, I guess I’ll have to leave it at “if you know you know.” BACK TO THE MEAT AND POTATOES:
Emilio is jealous of his cousin. Unlike her, he wasn’t born into nobility, but rather adopted into her family after both his parents perished in an accident. While his cousin looks to him like an older brother and Emilio to her like a younger sister, his cousin often gets showered in praise and far more attention from that side of the family than he ever gets. He often wonders if they even remember him. In fact, they usually DO forget he’s there. No matter what it is she does, she gets rewarded and lauded whereas if Emilio does something similar or more impressive, it doesn’t earn much fanfare. In fact, his family just assumes it was his cousins doing.
Emilio, in an attempt to gain their praise and attention, has developed something of a vain complex where overcompensating is his way of getting recognition. He wants to be seen as capable and worth seeking for advice and wisdom, so he makes it a point to learn as much as possible and make as many connections as he can (Ironic, considering what his signature spell is). That side of the family works on the Grand Council to the Queen of their country “Shining Peninsula,” so there’s a lot he wants to live up to. He wants to work to get there, his cousin, however is just expected to already have a spot.
As for her, it’s not that she’s incapable. Far from it. Despite his jealously, Emilio does love his cousin. She’s very understanding and down-to-earth, but her sheltered lifestyle and need to live up to the expectations put on her leads her to being extremely impulsive and act on instinct. Did I mention her magic reserves are crazy high? In another ironic twist, she’s the one who seems to notice that Emilio is very knowledgable on a lot of things she’s blind to, and while she might turn to him for help… she kinda falls into the same pitfalls the rest of her family does. She doesn’t usually listen.
Hey, in a weird way it also kinda parallels Kalim and Jamil. So, maybe Emilio could find a kinship in a certain somebody.
So, someone out there is probably wondering if this cousin is twst Elena. Yes. Her name is Marisol.
#twstposting#my art#(its there)#emilio estrada alvarez#twst oc#its the maternal side#i shouldnt clog the main tag with my bs#…that said still have to organize a little#twisted wonderland

I love hearing about OC's
Tell me about yours! Fun facts hc whatever let me hear it!!
Okay so for twst oc characters that are now publicly known- (and please look at Emilio on Cozymochi's blog he's great, I'd probably say he's mostly hers but I write with him a lot and we share lore!)
Katerina Vallis is a 3rd generation Greek-American. Her grandparents immigrated to America from Greece (both pairs of them, but only her mom's side of the family is still alive.) Her mother's maiden name was Panagopoulos, and her father's last name is Vallis- which funnily enough, Vallis comes from the Greek status name "Valis" which means "Prefect"
Kat had a bad experience with a past boyfriend that has made her generally distrust men. This is a problem as she gets spirited away to an all-boys magic school.
She's a talented fencer as she was trained as a child. She hoped that if she could help her school's female fencing team win the state championship, that her teammates would want to be her friends. They didn't. Most of these hobbies were imposed by her parents, particularly her mother. Among fencing, she was also introduced to modeling at a young age and horseback riding. If she got to choose, she'd draw and make a little story.
Emilio Estrada Alvarez came from a family of fisherman before his parents perished at sea, leaving him to be adopted by his Aunt and Uncle at 6 years old. He's been living with them, his Grandparents, and his cousins ever since, who are infinitely richer and prominent figures in their home country (His uncle is a member of the grand council for the Queen.) Emilio's sense of self has been skewed over since and he obsessed over status and recognition.
He and his cousin's mothers were sisters. His Aunt sometimes says he looks like his mother.
Emilio gets special permission to leave campus and return to his home country to celebrate a holiday that celebrates deceased loved ones in November

“what's your favorite..” moment or excerpt from something you’ve written recently? 💫
The real favorite excerpt is something revolving around a character not public yet, so I'm gonna go ahead and take something from The Worthy Heir that a pretty fun exploration of Emilio Estrada-Alvarez and his dynamic with his dorm mates after school.
From chapter 17 btw
Emilio has always been a self-motivated character who wants to get ahead and be important/powerful. He's obnoxious, but he is actually good at handling the responsibilities a housewarden would have to.
Jamil doesn't have to like him, but he recognizes Emilio's ability to follow directions and do the job right as useful and, naturally, just a little itty bit of trust is included in that (not full trust, Jamil is too paranoid for that)
In this story, Jamil isn't able to travel the world by himself. So he ends up tagging along on the journey of someone who enjoys the open waters and adventuring. And that small bit of trust combined with a similar desire to be the captains of their own ships is what brought them together at this moment.
Anyways it's obvious the Scarabia duo (now trio) makes me sentimental. This was Emilio and Kalim trying to give Jamil the safest and happiest adventure.

MY SONS!!!
