I was teaching The Diary of Anne Frank as a student teacher. One student told me that God created white people, but Jews and N*ggers evolved from apes. I had no support from my assigned teacher, and didn’t have the skills to confront that stupidity and hatred. I left the assignment early, after the same student threatened my life.
Assuming the young man is still alive, he’d be in his thirties now. I hope he’s had enough people in his life who could help him fix his damage that he has done so.
If you do not believe that Jews are indigenous to the place that was called Judea, Judea being the source of the words Judaism and Jew, then where are we supposed to be from?

I would hide you to the best of my ability…If my Catholic butt hadn’t already fled.
I’m a Hufflepuff Catholic; it’s the kind of thing I couldn’t live with myself for failing.
I learned in elementary school, when we first had classes on the Holocaust (4th grade iirc) that I would be considered Jewish by Nazis because I had Jewish first cousins. And so I always knew that I would be one of the kids in the death camps, along with those cousins.
Even if that is not true, of course my family would protect... itself. So "would you hide me?" would be a resounding "I would like to but." But I would not have a safe place for you to hide. If I had one, my cousins would be there. And even if the Nazis weren't specifically coming for me, they'd be constantly searching my home. Now that my mother's also Jewish, forget it, I'd be fleeing.
And I was not raised a Christian the way most Christians seem to have been, I have found out as an adult. I was raised to constantly question.
I've considered converting to Judaism off and on for much of my life. More so now than ever. But I still don't think so; I'm not comfortable with any religion. Of course, being uncomfortable with one's religion is also pretty Jewish. However, at the end of the day, all I know is whose side I'm on.
