You are to be a proactive member of the Business Area Management Team taking responsibility for meeting your personal order intake targets and for supporting VP Sales and the Business Area manager in meeting the UK Order Intake budget. The Head of Sales requires a skill set that can lead campaigns and bids whilst working under pressure to achieve the Sales bookings required.Key Responsibility Areas:Head of sales key tasks are to:Deliver your annual order intake budget.Identify and prioritise new UK / Export opportunities Lead submissions for Business Winning Decision Panels Lead the development of key prospect Capture Plans in accordance with company process. Work closely, as a core member of bid teams, to support the development of winning bids, communicating customer requirements, win themes, strategy statements and target price information so bid teams can develop compelling proposals.Write comprehensive draft Executive Summaries prior to the issue of formal ITTs/RFQs or equivalent.Work closely with Bid Mangers to help them identify and monitor resource requirements.Provide close support to Bid Managers for the preparation and delivery of Tender Vet reviews.Maintain accurate records of opportunity status and order intake forecasts in SAP.Maintain regular contact with key UK customer groups in the UK and Overseas.Support the Marketing & Communications functions in market analysis and marketing campaigns.Represent the company at trade shows and exhibitionsSkills, Qualifications and KnowledgeYou must be capable of demonstrating the following skills:Customer engagement techniques to shape thinking.Competitive analysis and generating price to win.Ownership of the Campaign and Bid with a capture strategy.Product, capability and systems sales experience.The ability to provide solid order intake and accurate forecasting.An understanding of the International Defence Market allowing analysis and planning (such as Political, Economic, Sociological, Technological, Legal, Environmental).The ability to understand technology developmentsAccount management - growing relationships.A creative approach to problem solving.An ethical approach to the business and peopleIntrinsic FactorsThis is an office-based role using display screen equipment, working full time hours which can often be in a demanding environment, with frequent travel both within the UK and overseas Sales
