I like to think that two lost souls with matching hearts of gold will find their home in one another.

Elain and Lucien are adventurers at heart and I see their journey taking them far and wide around both Prythian, and the mortal lands. From a campsite to an inn (with one bed—trope typical), they will find joy in turning what they have into a place of shared rest. After all, home is how you make it, and they will build a home between the both of them. A shared soul tied together by a golden thread—the only ones who understand each other.

I would like to give @tamdrry the biggest thank you for bringing this vision to life. It was such a pleasure to work with you! This piece is now one of my absolute favorites on my page.

elain has come a long way from the meek girl in the cabin, hiding behind her sister. this is the girl that kicked naga hounds in the face with her bare feet, the girl who shoots straight whiskey, who “hopes they all burn in hell,” who wielded shadows and truth teller to bring down a king.

elain is a woman who both shines in her gentle femininity and isn’t scared to get dirty to protect those she loves. she’s gone through the worst thing she can imagine, sank into the depths of despair, and came out the other side still filled with hope and kindness, a different kind of strength.

and through all this, she sees azriel’s darkness, and does not balk from it. and he sees her, maybe the first to ever truly do so. she went from being a normal human girl with a healthy fear of the fae to seeking out the company of one of the most fearsome fae males there is.

no longer the delicate socialite doing what is demanded of her, instead she is fighting fate, destiny, and the suffocating weight of everyone else’s expectations just for a chance to take control of her own future for the first time in her life.

elain has come so far, and i can’t wait to see where she goes from here.

The thing we love about Elain is that her strength manifests in many different ways—

She has the willpower to survive the void of the cauldron, the fortitude to push through the mental assault of her visions, and the courage to kick a beast with her bare feet or wield a magic blade to take down an ancient king without hesitation, but at the same time, she has quiet determination. She chooses softness in a hard world, she chooses hope over hate and gentleness instead of cruelty, and that, in the end, is an even more powerful sort of strength.

Welcome to Elain Archeron Appreciation Week, 2024!

We are so excited to be back for another year and cannot wait to celebrate our favourite flower fairy!

First off, a little housekeeping. We will announce the week on our old (now main) blog to be safe, but for ease of managing the event we have created a new space. We're sorry for the run around, and suggest following this new blog going forward.

The power of Elain Archeron is this:

Azriel is actually quite reverent when it comes to the Cauldron. When we read how he speaks about it in the HOFAS bonus chapter, it's clear that he believes in the sanctity of the Cauldron. He doesn't question the history of it. He isn't disrespectful. He truly believes that all Life came from it and that it is in fact a holy object of immense powers.

The only time he questions the Cauldron is when it comes to Elain. The only time he asks 'What if the Cauldron was wrong?" was in regards to Elain.

He doesn't know that the Cauldron was corrupted by the Asteri. To him, the Cauldron doesn't make mistakes. It's the thing that rules all of their lives to some degree.

But this one time, and only one time, Azriel questions whether the infallible and perfect Cauldron was wrong.

Why? Because it did not pair him with Elain.

Let it sink in.

Elain’s love of creating - cooking food, growing plants, creating headache powder - makes me imagine her as a witchy inventor chef, brewing up helpful new concoctions (or snacks) from what she grows in the garden🔬🔮🍄 

Since it’s Elain Week let’s look at what she’s been whipping up in her kitchen-laboratory, in collaboration with her lab conspirators Nuala and Cerridwen 💊🍩💾🧁🧪

I FORGOT FOXGLOVE WAS A POISON!! Im definitely not suggesting poisoning - it’s only he’s a fox who gave her gloves! It was for the word play!! 😭 I would take a bullet for Lucien, so absolutely nothing nefarious in mind!!

🌸Elain Week Day 6: Passions🌸

I believe Elain will grow gardens in places where there are none in the future. And one of these places is the prison, which now stands barren and desolate but will once again flourish as it once did when it was nurtured and cared for by Theia.

@elainarcheronweek Day Seven — Growth

This piece could satisfy a few different prompts, but I do see growth as the overarching theme. Elain is currently struggling to accept her new life as a fae and that has been reflected in conversations and other characters’ observations. Having her humanity torn from her was not only traumatic, but she lost both her fiance and the future that she had planned for them at the same time. A heart is a heavy burden to carry.

Elain’s journey in her book is going to be focused on inner healing—and on accepting herself. The pinnacle of being fae is the mating bond, as some fae wait their entire lifespans to find their other half. In Elain’s book, I see her accepting the mating bond with Lucien, and this artwork by my dear friend @/electra.rt is a moment years in the future where there are no wars, only peace, and Elain and Lucien can have a quiet morning with their family. A moment where Elain can reflect on her personal growth and her journey.

I want to thank @/electra.rt again for such a stunning piece of artwork! @amandapearls and I adore how she is able to convey emotions so perfectly in her art, and everything she produces never fails to make me emotional. I cannot wait for our next piece together, my friend 🤍

i imagine this is from feyre’s POV, finally getting to see how handsome elain and azriel truly are together when they have nothing holding them back. maybe a night out at rita’s, or a trip to the CoN?

Elain Archeron Week, Day 1: Visions

I've theorised before about how I think Elain's powers - specifically her Sight, but possibly other aspects of her magic, too - might work, with regards to her murky realm/the Void, the effects of light and even magical medicinals (could witchberries play a part instead of bloodbane?) so today I want to talk a little about why I think having such a useful power could be so meaningful for Elain.

ACOSF suggested that Elain was raised by Mama Archeron to have no independent thought; no dreams of her own, no goals bigger than her garden. She was to be the family's pawn on the marriage mart in their quest for power. Valued for her looks alone, not for what she could do.

Elain is pleasant to look at, her mother had once mused while Nesta sat beside her dressing table, a servant silently brushing her mother’s gold-brown hair, but she has no ambition. She does not dream beyond her garden and pretty clothes. She will be an asset on the marriage market for us one day, if that beauty holds, but it will be our own maneuverings, Nesta, not hers, that win us an advantageous match. Nesta had been twelve at the time. Elain barely eleven. She’d absorbed every word of her mother’s scheming, plans for futures that had never come to pass. - ACOSF, chapter 17

And then Azriel said this...

But Azriel asked softly, taking a single step over the threshold and into the sitting room, “What other?” Elain’s brows twitched toward each other. “The queen—with the feathers of flame.” The shadowsinger angled his head. Lucien murmured to me, eye still fixed on Elain, “Should we—does she need …?” “She doesn’t need anything,” Azriel answered without so much as looking at Lucien. Elain was staring at the spymaster now—unblinkingly. “We’re the ones who need …” Azriel trailed off. “A seer,” he said, more to himself than us. “The Cauldron made you a seer.” - ACOWAR, chapter 32

Besides the fact that Sight must be an incredibly difficult power to navigate at the best of times, I will always wonder how much it meant to Elain to hear she was needed for a skill. Something she could work at and contribute that went beyond the looks she was born with. Something that could - and did - allow her to prove her mother wrong when her own "maneuverings" saved lives at the end of ACOWAR.

Even before Elain understood what was happening, while she was still lost in her murky realm, she tried to use her visions to warn/help her family. One of her biggest contributions being her untrained doe eyes peering across the world, leading Feyre to the Suriel in ACOWAR, then of course everything that followed when she ignored orders to return to camp and ended up killing the King of Hybern and saving Nesta and Cassian, and massively weakening Hybern's army.

Our trembling fawn has a backbone of steel, I can't wait for her to shine and grow in her own book. 🌿

Elain Archeron Week: Visions

“I can see so very far now. All the way to the sea…I can hear your heartbeat—if I listen carefully. I can hear her heartbeat, too…I can hear the sea. Even at night. Even in my dreams. The crashing sea—and the screams of a bird made of fire…Will I hear the earthworms writhing through the soil? Or the stretching of roots? Will the bird of fire come to sit in the trees and watch me?”

Background: A tiny headcanon of Elain as she experiences a strange vision while preparing for the winter.

One moment she was a tendril of mist, the next a gilded ray of light flashing through the forest.

As she descended into the cavern, her power had already built into a sparkling river of light, pure and ancient. She was an unstoppable, living force, and she cut through rock as life blossomed in her wake.

Elain blinked and once again felt the fabric between her fingers as she covered the more fragile plants in her garden, the familiar surroundings and movements settling her back into her body. The frost would descend upon them soon and if she didn’t act swiftly, some of her plants would suffer or perish entirely in the coming cold.

As she resumed her gardening ritual, her mind drifted back to the dream. She had, for the most part, learned how to contain her sight, but some dreams would still slip through her defenses. This particular dream had mesmerized her since the earliest days of her change, seeping into her vision like a wave rolling over the shore. She knew now not to fear or resist it, to let this insistent kind of dream—like an urgent message from the Mother herself—flow over her, casting her consciousness off to another time and place.

This dream always offered the same strange glimpse of the future. Flashes of a foreign land wreathed in mist. The swift movements of her body, if she could even call it that. She was always left with this exhilarating sense that she was more than mere flesh and blood and bones. She was everything around her and yet…well, nothing at all. It reminded her of her friends’ otherworldly movements when they slipped into shadow and moved through the walls of her home. Or even Amren’s true form as it swept onto the battlefield, all-consuming and full of rage. Perhaps she would finally find the courage to ask them about it soon.

From the forbidden aspect to the sensual touches they have already given each other, they are set up to be the best kind of slow burn and I am here for it. I cannot wait to see their relationship develop in Elain’s book. 💐💖
