Shouldn't ~Healers~ be able to change appearance better than Tailors?
Sure, the Materialki part's needed to imbue tissue with colour, but shifting bones and re-arranging muscles to look like someone else? That's where you need to maintain blood circulation and avoid damaging nerves and such.
Either Genya is a wasted microsurgeon, or you don't even need Tailoring for wearing a different face, and the new regime reinvented the wheel, when they added "Tailoring" to Corporalki curriculum. It simply fell into the category of highly specialized advanced studies, whose practitioner "disappeared" after the failed Coup.
