Asparagus fruit/berries (Asparagus officinalis), garden asparagus, folk name sparrow grass. Comes from Europe and western temperate Asia. It grows from a “crown” and once established will live for up to 30 years. I didn’t harvest any this year as I’m still waiting for the plant to get nice and strong . You can propagate by dividing the crown but It’s probably best just to buy new crowns when they are fresh in the shops. #asparagus #berries #AsparagusOfficinalis #shoot #edibleplant #abcmygarden #vegetable #ausgarden #foliage (at Belmont, New South Wales, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/Co9J3axPjjy/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

In ‘Symphony of spores’, my new expanded cinema work, I collected and fixated mushroom spores. Mainly the mushrooms were collected through intuitive fieldwork sessions in Amstelpark during my exhibit and working period in Zone2Source apr-jun 2023. During fieldwork sessions I sharpen my senses by looking, listening, feeling in a careful and meditative way. Connecting and attracted to plants, trees, mushrooms that have a historical, medicinal, edible character. This way of perceiving the landscape around me is rooted in personal healing work with plant medicines. In ‘Symphony of spores’, magnifications of real mushroom spores on glass slides can be seen as moving light projections (so come and experience it live ;) The projection is done with the use of analog slide projectors and slow turning shutterwheels. Fixating mushroom spores is also a determination method used by biologists. Tiny mushroom spore particles are always floating around us. They’re a part of our body and connect us to our surroundings. Thats how mushrooms spread themselves. They're part of a vast intelligent underground mycelium network that connects all plants/trees sending information to each other. It’s hard to see this mushroom particle release proces, it goes in a slow way, takes time and is difficult for the human eye to spot.
The work can be viewed at my solo exhibit Plantas Harmonias connecting continents through medicinal and ritual plants 23 April – 18 June 2023 Zone2Source , Glasshouse, Amstelpark, Amsterdam.

Azerothian Botany - Emerald Shimmercap
Given that emerald shimmercaps grow in Felwood, it is little surprise that the average passerby mistakes their bright green hue for demonic corruption. In truth, their color has nothing to do with fel magic. These mushrooms get their distinctive appearance – and likely their name – from their connection to the Emerald Dream [Quest: A Slimy Situation].
In stark contrast to much of Felwood’s native flora, this species of fungi remains untainted by demonic forces in the region. While one may infer it is their tie to the Dream that prevents these mushrooms from succumbing to fel influence, the full explanation is a bit more nuanced – emerald shimmercaps have the unique ability to purify corruption [Quest: A Slimy Situation].
It makes sense, then, why many of these mushrooms are typically found near pools of fel-tainted water [Quest: A Slimy Situation]. By cleansing water sources in the region, this species of fungi could very well aid in stemming the spread of demonic corruption throughout northern Kalimdor.
Due to their magical nature, emerald shimmercaps are also highly effective at treating infections demonic in origin. When an undead single-handedly transformed the denizens of an outpost into fel slimes, one dryad made a paste from the mushroom that prevented a tauren from mutating along with them [Quest: A Slimy Situation, Quest: The Tainted Ooze].
Because of the Cenarion Circle’s efforts to heal Felwood, it is unclear if this species of fungi was planted deliberately or if it is endemic to the region.

Rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus syn Rosmarinus officinalis) flowers. Rosemary is a wonderful fragrant flavoring and also an ornamental plant in mediteranian climates. There are varieties that are supposed to be both drought tolerant and cold hardy but I haven't had luck getting it to survive when planted outdoors in Colorado. It does well in the greenhouse however. #Rosemary #Salvia_rosmarinus #Salvia #rosmarinus #officinalis #edibleplants #culinaryplants #CUgreenhouse (at CU Greenhouse) https://www.instagram.com/rhisiart_photography/p/CYmH0f-rS6h/?utm_medium=tumblr

Some useful, common plants in Pennsylvania. The yellow plant, Goldenrod, is a wildflower that blooms in late summer, can be used medicinally to treat inflammation, pains related to arthritus, and skin conditions. The purple plant is Thistle. While beautiful looking, it has been considering to be a nuisance plant throughout human history. Luckily, the roots of the plant are edible and can be used in a poultice for treating soreness. most know the spikey plant, Milkweed, as the preferred food of the Monarch Butterfly, so I wouldn't reccomend picking them. For the most part it is considered poisonous but indigenous tribes would chew the roots to treat dysentery. While my photos of the blackberries (or raspberries) aren't the best, any outdoorsman of PA can identify these. Ripe and delicious when they're black. The wild grapes which appear dark blue, are a bit of a mystery, showing up on our farm in the last couple years. They don't really taste that great, but are edible and native to PA. Maybe they can be used to make wine 🤔. : : #goldenrod #thistle #milkweed #blackberry #raspberry #wildgrapes #edibleplants #medicinalplants https://www.instagram.com/p/CHyipfapy4b/?igshid=l4nexgmyjaxa
