Eddie Diaz Masterlist
Summary: (Y/n) and Eddie are having a baby together, but when she starts to feel unwell, she thinks she should deal with it on her own and not worry or inform Eddie. After all, her ex never used to care, not even when she was falling apart.
Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A quiet hum vibrated at the back of (Y/n)'s throat as she nodded her head along to the music playing on the radio.
She began placing a few things down on the vanity, taking full advantage of the fact that Eddie said she could put things wherever she liked now that she was officially moving in with him and Chris. Most of her things were strewn about the bedroom in boxes and bags. She had already put most of her clothes away in the wardrobe.
It was surprising how many clothes Eddie owned. His things were split into his casual items hung up on one side and then the other side of the wardrobe had been all his smart clothes. Button up shirts, the odd suit, ties and such.
She leaned down to the left to grab a few accessories from the box by her feet, but her body shuddered and she gasped when a pair of strong hands suddenly curled around her hips.
She let go of whatever she had been truing to grab and straightened up just as she heard a deep chuckle vibrate through Eddie's chest that was now merging with her back. His lips formed into a smirk and he attached his lips to the side of her neck, tucking himself into her as he tugged her back until she was flush against his front.
He had stayed deathly quiet and managed to sneak his way into the bedroom without alerting her.
"What're you doing?" Her voice was quiet and raspy but she knew exactly what he was doing when she felt his fingertips move up until he had hold of the bottom of her shirt. He dragged it up so his hands could slide beneath her shirt and worm around to her stomach with his elbows pinned into her sides.
"Helping you," He murmured into her neck and gave her shirt another tug until she had to let him pull it over her head.
"Helping me what? I was trying to unpack." He wasn't exactly helping when (Y/n) was in the middle of moving all of her things and organising them so the boxes and bags were empty. Eddie was creating more hassle by removing her shirt and distracting her.
She slowly turned around in his arms, looking him up and down while he stared down at her.
"So am I." His words made (Y/n) grin while Eddie's hands roamed across her bare skin that he now had better access to with her shirt lying forgotten on the floor.
It took some effort to turn around in his arms and she rose a brow when she noticed he had the first few buttons of his shirt undone. Her hands moved to his shoulders while his hands stayed firm on her hips, but Eddie reclined back when he felt (Y/n) press a hollow kiss over his Adam's apple which made him gulp.
He shuddered when she slowly and methodically worked her way down his throat and down the middle of his exposed chest. Each butterfly kiss she pressed to his chest made Eddie's breathing hitch and his head tilted to the right as he watched her, completely enamoured.
When she worked her way back up his chest and pecked the corner of his mouth, Eddie moved.
He bent his knees and leaned down and in one swift motion, Eddie had his hands cupped around the back of (Y/n)'s thighs and he lifted her up off her feet. Her arms coiled around his neck and her legs looped around his back so she was perched low on his torso, feeling his belt rubbing against her thighs.
Her chest shuddered when Eddie placed her down on the dressing table behind her and pressed up between her legs that she kept looped around his hips.
Eddie kept one arm around her waist and moved the other to cup the back of (Y/n)'s neck, tilting her head back so she was looking up at him. He leaned down and stole a kiss from her lips, then another and another until he felt her thighs squeeze around his hips.
She felt his hands wriggle their way round to the back of her jeans and he managed to slip his fingers beneath them, making her gasp at his cold touch. She smoothed her thumb up and down his jaw when Eddie leaned to attach his lips back to her neck and she grinned when his teeth grazed her skin. He was going to mark her up.
"I still need to finish unpacking."
"We've got time." Eddie spoke breathlessly against her neck and dragged his nose along her chin as he lifted his head to look at her. He felt the way she tightened her legs around his waist like she was trying to catch his attention. But when (Y/n) moved her hand back to the side of his face and smiled, he grinned.
"Besides, don't you wanna christen the bed?" Something dark flash across Eddie's eyes as he rose a brow, waiting for a response.
It wasn't as if (Y/n) had never stayed the night before, she had stayed round lots of times. The only difference was that now, this was going to be her forever home rather than a home away from home.
When he got a sharp grin as a response, his hands were back on her thighs and he tugged her back onto his hips and lifted her up. He turned around, his lips meshed with hers, and walked over to the other side of the room towards the bed. He swallowed the gasp (Y/n) let out when he leaned her back and flopped her down onto the bed and laid on top of her, resting comfortably between her thighs.
She could feel the hand at the back of her neck tightening until his fingertips were scratching and tangling against her hair. He tilted her head back so she was staring up at him and leaned down and devour her lips.
He was doing well with distracting (Y/n) from the task she had come in here to do and her head started to go fuzzy the longer Eddie kissed her. She had a feeling that if they didn't have to go and collect Chris from school later this afternoon, they would have been in here all day. All night, even.
His lips attached to her neck but he made a very fast path down her neck and between her cleavage, grinning into her skin when he felt her chest suck inwards and noticed how she held her breath, waiting for his next move.
(Y/n) didn't realise she had closed her eyes until it felt like stars were glistening behind her eyelids. She could feel him biting a bruise into her skin before he tilted his chin down a little more so his nose brushed against the dark mark he'd created as if he was making it better.
"Eddie…" She tilted her head to one side and mustered up enough strength to prop herself up on her elbows so she could look over at him.
He paused in his administrations, his dark eyes locked onto hers and his blushing lips slightly parted which made him look even more devouring.
"I need to unpack before Chris comes home… help me, then it won't take as long. And you can do whatever you like after that." Resorting to bargaining seemed to be (Y/n)'s only choice. They told Chris (Y/n) would be moving in and he had been so happy, but they also promised that since this was going to be their first night together officially moved in and a family, that they would go out for tea.
That meant they wouldn't have time to finish tidying up and unpacking once Chris came home. It needed to be done now so everything was finished. If Eddie helped, it would be done twice as fast and there would be time before they had to get Chris to pick up where they left off.
There was a clear debate in Eddie's eyes, but when (Y/n) moved her hand to signify to the few items of clothing and items scattered on the bed, he relented.
His lips attached back to hers with fever and he almost pushed her back down with his force and the love hiding behind his touch. But when he leaned back, he let (Y/n) sit up properly again.
"Hm, suppose so." Each word was muttered so close to her lips that (Y/n) could taste them and the lust in his voice. It was intoxicating.
(Y/n) felt suddenly empty and cold when Eddie slowly climbed off of her and got back to his feet. She watched him as he pulled at his shirt where the buttons were undone like they were suddenly irritating him. And after a silent debate, Eddie pulled off his shirt and tossed it beside her on the bed. It was annoying him, and he didn't really need it on until they were planning to leave the house anyway.
He cast a smirk over in (Y/n)'s direction before he crouched down and started to move the boxes and open them.
He knew (Y/n) would tell him where she wanted everything, and she wouldn't object to Eddie taking a look and seeing what might look good in certain rooms around the house.
(Y/n) shuffled off the bed, not bothering to put her shirt back on, she stayed in her jeans and bra while she gathered the books from the bedside table and moved towards the door. Eddie had a few books in the living room near the fire place, she could put hers there too and have a combined collection.
She grabbed a box of ornaments from beside the door and headed into the living room.
The books all looked lovely, different sized hardbacks and a few paperbacks lined up together in (Y/n)'s own little order of size and colour. She went around the room placing little ornaments and trinkets here and there, wondering how long it would take Eddie and Chris to notice each one. She nodded to herself when it was all done and slowly trailed back towards the bedroom.
Eddie had put a few things around the bedroom, (Y/n) could see that, but the way he was sat on the end of the bed with a box in his hands made her curious. He looked completely entranced by something. There was a faraway look in his eyes and his head was slightly angled to the right.
Both his hands were softly tapping against the box on his lap and he had one foot jittering and tapping up and down against the laminate floor.
"What have you found?" Her lips curved into a smile, right until Eddie looked up at her.
He looked panicked. The way his wide eyes locked on her and how he seemed to hold his breath and swallow harshly made (Y/n)'s smile fade. Eddie looked like he had stumbled upon a box of secrets. If there had been anything of (Y/n)'s that she wanted to hide from Eddie, she wouldn't have brought it in, she would have left it in her car or a safe place. She didn't have anything to hide from him.
"What is it?"
"I didn't mean to pry." The softness in Eddie's voice was oddly soothing yet unsettling at the same time.
He shuffled along the end of the bed a little so he could set the box down in between them when (Y/n) perched down next to him to see what he was looking at.
(Y/n) tried to smile as she leaned forward and peered into the box. She rummaged around to see what Eddie had found, but her heart jumped into her throat when she looked inside.
Oh. He had found that box.
Eddie watched her carefully, unsure whether he had unintentionally touched a nerve by opening this box. He waited for (Y/n) to make the first move, to either open the box or to shove it to one side and tell him she didn't want to talk about it. Although he couldn't help the curiosity that was dwelling up inside of him along with the sympathy pooling in his eyes for her.
He leaned a little closer when (Y/n) reached into the box and when she picked out a picture and handed it to him, he took it carefully, not wanting nor daring to crease the preserved paper.
"It was a boy." (Y/n) wanted to smile, but her heart wouldn't allow it.
Something about the way Eddie traced his thumb along the scan photo made her heart surge.
She watched Eddie observe the photo and trace the pad of his finger along the writing in the top right corner. She knew he was looking at the date; silently working out when this had happened. Two years before she met Eddie.
"Can I ask what happened?" Eddie didn't want to overstep the mark, but he couldn't help also wanting to know what (Y/n) had been through. He loved her. They were moving in together and Eddie had been thinking non-stop about getting engaged. If that were going to happen, he wanted (Y/n) to open up with him. He had opened up about his experience in the army and how that affected him. He needed to understand her trauma too so he could help.
He handed the photo back to (Y/n) but he was surprised when she exchanged it in the box and shakily held out a blanket to him. She was opening up. She was happy for Eddie to look through the few keepsakes she had because they were important to her.
"He was stillborn, I was only twenty-five weeks so… the doctors didn't know why I had him early."
Eddie knew something had happened. He knew when they had been together for a few months and the topic of kids came up. It was clear that it was a subject (Y/n) didn't feel comfortable talking about. And during a passing conversation, Eddie remembered her casual words.
'I was pregnant once… it didn't work out.'
That had been enough to keep Eddie from approaching the subject any other times. He had been waiting until (Y/n) felt comfortable enough to talk to him about it, and it seemed like she was ready now.
When Eddie looked down at the blanket in his hands, something tugged at his heart like a hand seizing his arteries when he saw the small embroidery in the corner. Leo.
He found himself murmuring "It's a sweet name," while his thumb traced the golden thread.
"I chose it, my… Lewis didn't want to name him, but I did." (Y/n) began to ring her hands out and tangle her fingers together on her lap. Exes had been a sore subject to talk about between them. Shannon had been Eddie's one and only proper ex, all the rest were little flings from high school which didn't exactly count.
And the only lasting relationship (Y/n) had was with her ex partner Lewis, and he had been horrid. It was such a change to be with someone like Eddie. Someone who cared, who didn't belittle her or become distant and uncaring and cruel with twisted words. Eddie was the best thing to happen to (Y/n).
Eddie looked down when (Y/n) leaned her head on his shoulder and he pressed his lips to the back of her head.
"Where'd you want to put his things?" There was a small photobook with the scan photos and the few photos (Y/n) got of Leo when he was born. Along with the few clothes she bought and couldn't bear to part with and two blankets, and a small teddy bear. It wasn't much, but it was all she had of him and it was the things she didn't want to get rid of.
She took a moment to think and debate and when Eddie handed her the blanket back, (Y/n) placed it in the box and leaned forward.
Eddie's brows furrowed when he watched (Y/n) slide the box beneath the bed. That wasn't what he had been expecting. He thought (Y/n) would want the photos in the bedside drawer, somewhere close where she could look at them and have the blanket somewhere visible.
"Amor?" He murmured into her hair when she leaned back into him and he curved his arm around her waist to coil her into his chest.
"I don't like looking at them, I couldn't… I didn't cope, when I lost him and Lewis just made it worse. I couldn't get out of bed one day, I felt so broken, and- and he just sighed. He said it was my own fault."
The way Eddie's chest bristled and tensed against her made (Y/n) wince and close her eyes tight. But she was relieved when he looped his other arm over her chest so she was thoroughly encased in his embrace.
"Looking makes me remember."
It wasn't remembering her baby that was the problem and Eddie could see that. He knew the part she didn't want to remember was how Lewis had been with her and how broken she had felt during that period of her life. She was at a much better place now, remembering that sorrow only made (Y/n) feel like she was being dragged back down that rabbit hole again.
"Okay." Eddie moved his hand up to cup the side of (Y/n)'s jaw while he peppered a few kisses to her temple.
He couldn't understand people like Lewis. He couldn't fathom how they could be so cold and heartless, especially when a loved one was suffering. (Y/n) had been in the worst place in her life, and he acted like it was all her own doing. He didn't seem to grieve, he didn't get angry like (Y/n) or feel hopeless or like he had lost something so important that he couldn't live without.
Losing the baby had been but a minor inconvenience to him and Eddie couldn't wrap his head around someone like that. If Eddie had been in his place, he would have felt broken. He would have done his best to hold (Y/n)'s broken pieces together and put her first and try to help her. He wouldn't leave her or blame her like that.
"You know you're safe with me, don't you baby? I would never treat you like that." Eddie wasn't sure why, but he felt an overwhelming urge to make sure (Y/n) knew that something like that would never happen again. He wouldn't allow it.
He rested his cheek on top of her head when he felt her lips kissing over his pulse whilst his hand stayed cupping the side of her face. And he was sure he could feel her smiling against his skin.
(Y/n) wanted to smile at the memory that flashed to the front of her mind as she walked down the hall and aimed for the kitchen. Her fingers pulled at her sleeves until they were covering her hands and she coiled her arms around her waist.
Her eyes set on Eddie immediately. He was stood with his back to her, his hips jutting from side to side like a little dance as he washed the dishes.
She kept her steps light as she padded barefoot across the cold floor until she was stood behind him. She knew he hadn't heard her. She knew when she curved her arms underneath his and his chest tightened and he tensed up, he didn't expect her touch.
Her arms wrapped around his upper chest beneath his arms and her hands splayed out on his chest just below his collar bone. She glued her front up against his back and pressed her lips into his shirt between his shoulder blades. And when she pushed up on her toes, she placed a delicate kiss against the back of his neck which made a shiver tear down his spine.
"Hi baby," Eddie spoke softly as he dried his hands on the teatowel. When (Y/n) didn't respond and stayed pressed up against him, Eddie slowly turned around in her arms and pressed his hips up against the counter.
He looped his arms around the back of her shoulders and leaned down to peck her temple.
Adrenaline sparked in Eddie's chest when (Y/n) tilted her head up and caught him in a kiss. He brought his hands round to cup the sides of her face and his thumbs brushed across her cheekbones as she leaned her chest up into him. If it weren't for the counter behind him, they would have fallen to the floor.
When they finally parted, (Y/n) shivered at the feeling of Eddie's lips attaching to the side of her neck. It almost felt normal now to feel his moustache tickling her skin.
It was a new look. (Y/n) had seen Eddie with stubble over the years, and when he'd had time off work he actually started to grow a beard. He couldn't have one at work because they were deemed inappropriate and a fire hazard. But a moustache was different. It was a look that (Y/n) didn't think she would like, but somehow it made Eddie look even more handsome.
(Y/n) let her eyes fall closed as Eddie pushed off the counter so he was stood up straight again, but he was starting to lean more and more into her. She reached one hand up to cup the back of his neck and scratch her nails through the short hairs at the back of his neck which made him growl against her skin.
"Everything okay, baby?" Eddie's lips stayed against her neck for a few moments until (Y/n) pushed forward so her face was burrowed against the top of his chest and her arms looped tightly around the back of his neck.
He wasn't used to (Y/n) being so quiet, usually if she attached herself to him she would say something. Even if it was just to tell him to take her into the bedroom. But she wasn't talking and it was a little worrying.
"I have something to show you." (Y/n) kept her face tucked up against Eddie's neck and she feathered her fingers up and down his neck and the columns of his spine until he was shivering against her.
"Oh, what have you got?" He spoke into her hair as he dragged one hand up to feather his fingers up and down the groove of her spine.
She reeled her upper chest back just enough so that she could look up at Eddie. One arm stayed looped around his neck while her other hand moved to find what she had stuffed into her back pocket. She almost felt afraid to give it to him and find out what his reaction would be. She had done this before, but things had been so different when she was with Lewis.
This was Eddie. This was the one person who told her he loved her and showed her a million different ways that he meant it. This was the man she married six months ago, the one she knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.
Her lips rolled into a thin line and she inched back to lean against the kitchen island while Eddie looked at what she had handed over to him.
A pregnancy test.
Eddie stared at it for a few moments, maybe even a minute, before he set it down and leaned down to cup (Y/n)'s chin. He lifted her head so she was finally looking up at him. Everything was in her eyes. Love, panic and sorrow were swirling around in her eyes like ripples in a lake. All of it flooded her eyes that were already spilling over with tears but when Eddie smiled at her, it made the tears multiply.
She pushed her face back down into his shoulder and looped both arms back around his neck so tightly Eddie could scarcely breathe.
"Hey, hey it's okay." Eddie leant his cheek against the top of (Y/n)'s head and gently started to sway them from side to side.
They had talked about this when they got engaged and again after they got married. They both wanted kids, they had Chris who was like a son to (Y/n), but they still wanted more kids together. Eddie had to make sure it was what (Y/n) wanted and she would be okay if they started trying. After what she had been through, it was normal to be apprehensive and scared.
But they had talked and started trying after they got married. This is the result they had been hoping for, but it was still nerve-wrecking.
"I'm scared." (Y/n) kept her eyes tightly closed and smothered her face into Eddie's shoulder so she wouldn't have to look up at him. The dark voice in the back of her mind told her not to say that, not to say anything at all because the response would be laughter.
At least, it would if she were still with Lewis. He would have told her not to be silly, not to worry and do things right this time and everything would work out.
Instead of laughter or Eddie rolling his eyes and tutting at her or pushing her away, she felt his arms tighten around her. He merged his lips with the top of her head and began gliding his free hand up and down her back. It was okay to be scared, Eddie wouldn't expect anything different.
"That's normal, mi amor. But this is gonna be different; you've got me this time. I'll look after both of you."
***
Tears burned in (Y/n)'s eyes when a searing pain burned in her lower abdomen. She set the knife down before it slipped in her shaky grip and her right hand moved to cradle the underside of her bump while her other hand gripped the counter.
Her back arched out and she leaned forward to see if it would do anything to relieve the tension and take the pain away.
It had been coming and going for a while now. It happened before Eddie left to pick Chris up from school and now they were coming back again. It didn't feel like contractions. (Y/n) had been through that before, it was a different kind of burning, stretching pain whereas this was concentrated and aching.
Was she losing another baby?
If the pains got much worse she would have to try and go to the doctor without alerting Eddie.
This was her body, therefore her mistake. If she was losing another baby then it was down to her to get through it and sort this out. And she didn't want to disappoint Eddie. He had been so happy about this baby. Telling Chris, telling his parents and the team.
He would be more upset than Lewis had been.
When the stillbirth happened with Lewis, he had been distant. He didn't breakdown like (Y/n) did. He didn't lose himself or yearn to have their baby back in his arms. He made it clear he thought (Y/n) was the issue, it was her body that hadn't been able to carry their baby. And it was her depression that resulted from that event.
He didn't want to help her and he made it clear that it was her burden to bear, not his. (Y/n) couldn't tell Eddie she was in pain and burden him with this and make him upset if this was her body losing another baby. She didn't want to know how her husband would look at her. She loved Eddie more than anything; she never wanted to hurt him.
"We're back!"
(Y/n) pushed off the counter and straightened up with such a deep breath that her lungs felt like they were going to burst. She tried to breathe through the uncomfortable pains and push them down as much as she could so she could continue making dinner.
Her nails scratched into the handle of the knife to stop it shaking in her grip so she could finish chopping the veg.
She swiped her sleeve beneath her eyes, ridding the few loose tears that trickled down her face when she heard Chris hurrying into the kitchen. He always came to find her when he was home from school if she didn't pick him up.
"Hi!" His voice was elevated and playful and (Y/n) sank her teeth into her lower lip which started to bleed to distract her from the pain that became concentrated when Chris hugged her.
He pressed up into her side with his arms around her waist and his cheek meshing into her bump.
"Hey sweetie, good day?" (Y/n) did her best not to groan and to try and level out her voice as she glanced down at him for a moment. But she had to concentrate on chopping the veg so she didn't cut herself or let Chris see the pain hidden within her eyes.
"Yeah, what you cooking?"
"Oh… um- stir-fry." God, her brain didn't seem to be working. It took longer than it should have to remember what she was even trying to do. Chris was the kind of child who would eat anything, and Eddie was much the same. (Y/n) could cook them anything and they would eat it and ask for more. And considering Eddie wasn't the best chef, he was relieved when (Y/n) seemed very happy and eager to cook and embroil Chris into helping every now and then.
She managed a smile when she heard a cheeky "Yay!" pass Chris's lips but she had to smother a groan when he squeezed her tight again before he let her go. It was clear that (Y/n) was already halfway through making tea and therefore Chris knew he didn't or rather shouldn't chip in. (Y/n) was in the swing of things already.
She was glad when she heard Chris trot off down the hall; it meant she didn't have to try and put on a brave face when she didn't need to. She heard him head into his bedroom, it was routine for him to go and get changed out of his school clothes and wind down by watching tv or playing a video game in his room before tea.
"Hey baby,"
Eddie's hand curved around her hip and his lips smothered the back of her head as he pressed up behind her. He peered over her shoulder, clearly trying to see what she was cooking up. The feeling of his lips against her cheek was comforting and somewhat distracting from the uneasy, concentrated bouts of pain she was experiencing.
(Y/n) leaned back into Eddie's touch so he would know she wasn't ignoring him and she felt another kiss against her neck before he slid to the right to put the kettle on.
Her hands shook as she finished chopping the veg and turned to try and find a frying pan. It pained her to crouch down to search through the kitchen cupboards and her stomach ached when she creased forward with her thighs pressing into her abdomen.
One hand clenched around the countertop to steady herself and the other found the pan she needed, but she barely had the energy to lift it up.
Eddie glanced over to the left and his brows furrowed when he noticed (Y/n)'s stance. Crouched down, leaning into the cupboard, but without moving. It looked like she had gone into some kind of trance. He waited a moment with his head tilted to one side until he watched her slowly reel back up and dump the pan on the counter with a thud.
When she stood back up again, her head lolled forward and spots danced before her eyes.
Another pain rocketed through her stomach like lightning and it made (Y/n)'s hands tighten on the counter until her nails were scratching along the dark marble surface and her elbows started to shake from being locked in place to try and hold her up.
"Baby… you okay?" Eddie set the kettle down and looked back over in (Y/n)'s direction.
He didn't like the way she was pushing forward with her head angled down and her arms quivering like she was frozen cold.
His voice didn't reach (Y/n)'s ears. Her head felt like it was stuffed with cotton wool and a horrible whirling noise was ringing through her ears like she had suddenly gone deaf. It was too much effort to keep herself leaning forward on her arms that were like matchsticks about to break. And when a blinding pain tore through her abdomen, all the tension left (Y/n)'s body as her mind seemed to shutdown and restart itself all at once.
"Oh- shit!"
Eddie's ankle rolled the wrong way when he jerked to the left the moment he watched (Y/n)'s knees cave in. His knees locked once he was three steps forward and his arms bolted around (Y/n)'s waist, catching her before she had chance to hit the floor.
He hated how her head folded over his arm like her neck had snapped and he could feel every limb go loose like she was a puppet whose strings had just been cut.
His hands grappled at her waist and he bent his left leg forward so his knee was pressed into the back of (Y/n)'s thighs to keep her leaning on him. He pulled her into his chest and made sure she was secured in his left arm so he could curl his right arm across her front and cradle the back of her neck to tilt her head up.
"(Y/n)? (Y/n)… come on," It wasn't often that Eddie found himself saying her name, he said it about as much as he said his own name, which was a rarity.
Relief overwhelmed every one of his senses when he felt her head try and move in his grip and he reeled her closer to his chest so he could go down on his knees with her. He made sure she was sat on the floor with her legs bent properly and he rested the back of her head on his shoulder, moving behind her so he was propping her up.
His left arm stayed cocooned around her waist while he curled his right hand into a fist and began rubbing his knuckles up and down her sternum to bring her back around.
Relief bubbled up inside Eddie's chest when (Y/n) tried to tilt her head to the right until her temple brushed against his chin. He took a moment to press his lips to her forehead, but his brows furrowed and he pulled back so he could move his hand from her sternum to press against her forehead.
She was burning up. And when he watched her slowly start to restart her system and come back around, he realised she was trembling against him.
His hand moved to cradle her face and he brushed his thumb across her cheek while he tilted her head forward and looked down, assessing whether her pupils were dilating and adjusting to the light properly or not.
It took him by surprise how strong and sudden (Y/n)'s grip was when she clenched her hand around his wrist and she shuddered in his arms as she tried to push forward to sit up on her own. But Eddie tensed his arm around her waist and eased her back against his chest. There was no rush, she didn't have to sit up and move about right away.
"Take it easy," He murmured against her temple, but his chest hardened and he sucked in a deep breath. The way (Y/n) was tensing and twitching told him something was wrong; she was in some kind of pain.
He took another look up and down her frame, but he couldn't see any injury or outward signs of pain.
"Baby? Baby, talk to me, what hurts?"
"N-no, I'm okay, it's o-okay,"
(Y/n) clenched her hand around Eddie's wrist and tried again to sit forward and this time, Eddie shuffled up behind her to prop her up a bit better. Her free hand moved down to grip her thigh so she had something else to focus on and some sense of control while her stomach tensed and ached and throbbed like she had been hit with a bat.
"What, no this isn't okay you're not well. Talk to me." Her words confused him. Why was she trying to tell him she was fine when Eddie had just witnessed her collapse? What good was lying to him going to do? It wasn't going to calm him down when he knew something was wrong and she wasn't talking to him.
Tears welled up in her eyes and she shook her head like she was trying to dismiss the subject, but she didn't have the will to move out of Eddie's arms just yet. And he was holding her too tightly for her to even think about moving away from him.
Another crippling pain twinged in her stomach and (Y/n) couldn't help but suck in a sharp breath and her stomach pulled in. She tried not to make it noticeable when she moved her hand up along her thigh until she could press it against the base of her stomach, trying in vain to make the pain go away.
She didn't want Eddie to see her in pain. She didn't want him to know that something might be wrong. This was her body therefore her fault if something went wrong or happened to the baby.
Eddie saw.
He saw the way she tensed and the flash of pain that danced across her face and the moment he noticed her hand moving to her stomach, he sighed and tilted his head back.
"Chris, go get in the car we're heading out." His voice hollered down the hall before he moved his hands to grip either side of (Y/n)'s waist.
"Eddie, no-"
"You've just collapsed and I know something's causing you pain. We're going to the hospital."
"I'll go, y-you stay with Chris."
Again, her words confused him and Eddie's lips pulled into a dark frown as the end of his nose scrunched up. Why was she trying to push him away? Why wouldn't she admit she wasn't well and just let Eddie help her? He wasn't going to stay home worrying and let her make her own way to the hospital.
"I don't think so." The deep tone in his voice made (Y/n) advert her gaze and lower her head. "Chris can stay with Abuela, and I'm staying with you."
Tears welled up in (Y/n)'s eyes and began to trickle down her face before she leaned forward and smothered her hands against her face. If Eddie came with her and something went wrong, she would see. (Y/n) would see his disappointment or worse still, she would break and crumble while Eddie had to witness it.
This was her burden to bear, this was something she was supposed to do alone, not something to upset and bother Eddie with.
She leaned forward with her elbows pressing into her waist but she whimpered when she felt Eddie's lips attaching to the back of her head and his chest moulded over her back. Why was he being so understanding? Why did she feel so guilty?
***
(Y/n) leaned her head to the right as her eyes focused in on her stomach and her hands began feathering up and down her bump like she was drawing patterns into her skin.
Somehow, it didn't feel right. It didn't seem to ring true in her ears that for now, everything was okay. At least, everything was under control. The pains had continued when Eddie brought her down to the emergency room after they dropped Chris off with his Abuela who was rather eager to have him stay with her for company.
When she got checked over and taken for an ultrasound, part of (Y/n) believed history would be repeating itself. Of course, it had been different last time. She had gone into labour with no pre-warning signs and nothing had been wrong before that day.
But she thought that these pains were the start of something bad. That maybe there wouldn't be a heartbeat when they got the ultrasound or they would be told that she had to have the baby now for some medical emergency.
(Y/n) hadn't expected to be told that the baby was okay, and she'd suffered a placental abruption. Which meant bedrest from now on because they were only twenty-seven weeks, and (Y/n) needed to get to thirty-five weeks so the baby wouldn't be premature and they had much better odds of everything turning out fine.
Her fingers continued to dance over her shirt and she stroked her thumb over the spot where she felt the baby kicking a few minutes ago.
But her head lifted and she froze when she watched Eddie walk back into the room.
"Is Chris okay?" Her voice sounded oddly meek and nimble and she could barely keep her eyes on Eddie.
He looked rattled, and not because of the phone call he'd just made to his Abuela to check she was okay to have Chris for the night so Eddie could stay here with (Y/n). He didn't want to go home and leave her on her own for twenty four hour observation. Not when she had been acting strangely and he could see she was taking this news in a different way than he was. There was something upsetting her and Eddie didn't want to leave her.
But as (Y/n) watched him walk over to her, she almost felt worried. His expression was almost blank, except for the concentrated look in his eyes and the colour rushing to his cheeks. His jaw was locked tight with the muscles popping at the tip of his jaw, level with his ears.
"He's happy to have a sleepover." Eddie tucked his phone into his back pocket and closed the door behind him before he advanced towards the bed.
He grabbed the chair from the corner of the room and dragged it across so he could sit down as close to the bed as humanly possible. Until his knees were pressing into the metal bedframe. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his thighs and clasped his hands together tightly beneath his chin while his head angled up in (Y/n)'s direction.
"Alright baby, spill."
"W-what?"
"Something's wrong here, you're not telling me something so please start explaining."
Eddie wasn't stupid and he wasn't going to sit and pretend that this was okay when there was clearly something playing on (Y/n)'s mind. He wanted to know what was wrong and this was the perfect opportunity since they had a while to sit here in observation. Especially since Chris wasn't around to listen in, they could have a clear conversation.
When he didn't get a response, Eddie straightened up and shifted his hands to start running them up and down his thighs instead.
"Come on baby, why didn't you tell me you didn't feel well? How long were you in pain for?" If she wasn't going to start then Eddie would strike up the conversation and ask the questions he needed the answers to.
He didn't like the way (Y/n) wouldn't look over at him. she kept her head tilted down and continued to trace her hands up and down her stomach like it was a way to stay calm and soothe herself.
"I thought… I didn't-" The right words didn't seem to be coming to mind and each explanation (Y/n) tried to come up with made her cringe.
"You thought what, that I didn't need to know?" Confusion flooded Eddie's voice as he tried to fill in the gaps, but he wasn't understanding.
"No, that you- I don't know, you might not…"
"Care?"
Something horrid twisted in Eddie's stomach when (Y/n) nodded. He could feel bile rising at the back of his throat and his face completely fell while his shoulders dropped down like he had suddenly lost all composure as if his bones had turned to jelly.
How could she think that? How could she think that her being in pain or having complications with the baby wouldn't make Eddie panic? How could she think that he wouldn't care about something as dire and important as that?
"What did I do, to make you think I wouldn't care?" His voice was quiet and the broken tone to his words made (Y/n) cringe and had tears freely falling down her face.
"It's my job to look after the baby, I didn't- I didn't do that last time. Lewis wasn't- he was disappointed, in me, when I lost them. He didn't care, like I did." It was hard to explain when (Y/n) didn't know how to put it into words that would make sense; words that Eddie would understand when she didn't even comprehend it fully.
(Y/n) was the one carrying the baby. She was the one who was supposed to protect them and nurture them and if something went wrong, that was her fault. It was down to her to sort it or deal with the aftermath, it was on her, not Eddie.
That was the way she thought about it because that was the way it had been last time. That was the only experience (Y/n) had to compare this to.
"He didn't care, like at all? He didn't help you through that?" Eddie scraped the chair closer as if he was afraid he wouldn't be able to hear her answer.
The way she shook her head and kept her eyes on her stomach made Eddie's lips falter into a hollo, gaping expression. What kind of person was her ex to let her suffer through that alone? How could he not care that (Y/n) had been struggling? How could he not care enough that he'd lost his own child, that (Y/n) had lost something so precious and close to her?
"I said it was my fault, and he agreed. He brushed it off, said I… I couldn't even keep a baby. I felt so bad, Eddie, I wanted my baby, but he-"
He didn't seem bothered.
That was the only way (Y/n) could comprehend and remember the situation.
Lewis had been the type who didn't fuss if (Y/n) had ever been sick or ill or if she hurt herself. He never took care of her, not in the way Eddie had. And when she had complications and lost the baby, it didn't seem to make an impact on him. He barely held her through that experience, he didn't console her, he was distant like it wasn't his job or something he wanted to do to help (Y/n) through that.
(Y/n) had been in a dark place and one day when she cried and said that she felt like it was her fault she lost the baby, Lewis agreed.
He said he believed that too and he let (Y/n) dwell and go further down that rabbit hole until she was completely shrouded in darkness.
He made her feel unworthy of everything; of comfort, of love, even affection.
"I didn't tell you, a-about the pains, I thought that was down to me to deal with. I thought I'd let you down," Tears ran down the bridge of her nose and soaked her cheeks. "I didn't know y-you'd worry."
"You- Christ," Eddie knotted his fingers in his hair and gave a few sharp tugs on each strand until his scalp burned and it distracted him from the way his vision was blurring with his own tears that began to fall.
She didn't think he would worry.
She honestly believed that despite how Eddie had tried to show her how much he loved her and how happy he was about the baby, she believed he wouldn't care. Her ex had done that much damage and brainwashing to her to make her think that anyone else she was with also wouldn't give her their affection or their time and love.
"I'm not w-worth much, if I can't even have a baby." She cried harder when Eddie's hand was suddenly enveloped around hers and when he pressed her knuckles to his lips, she started to tremble.
"That's not true. Before you got pregnant, you were still worth the world to me, and to Chris."
"I'm sorry-"
"No, no (Y/n) I'm not looking for an apology here." Eddie pushed up off the chair so he could sit down on the side of the bed and be as close to her as possible. "What he did to you was wrong, you didn't deserve any of that. I thought I made it clear how much you and this baby mean to me."
(Y/n) closed her eyes and leaned her cheek into Eddie's touch when his hand cradled the side of her face. She gripped his wrist and leaned forward until she could smother her face in his shirt. She didn't want to look up and see the tears in his eyes, but she wanted Eddie as close as she could get him right now.
Both her hands shifted so she could scrunch his shirt up in her palms and she almost whimpered when she felt his lips merging with the top of her head.
"If you're not well, I expect you to tell me because I care. I care so fucking much about both of you. This is our baby," He felt the way (Y/n) shivered when one hand cupped the back of her neck and the other moved down to cradle her stomach. "And you, mi amor, are so important to me."
He traced his thumb up and down her bump while he spoke each word against her temple since her cheek was now tucked up against his shirt like she was listening to his heart to check that it was beating out a rhythm especially for her.
If Eddie had to tell (Y/n) every day for the rest of his life just how much she meant to him and how much he loved and valued her, then that's what he would do. He would tell her until she believed him and then he would keep telling her so she wouldn't dare forget.
Eddie didn't truly know what she had gone through with her ex, but he knew that this relationship was different. He loved every part of (Y/n) and he valued her higher than anything in the world. And he loved this baby too. She had to understand that Eddie was going to care, probably too much, especially if she wasn't well or something was wrong.
"Look at me," He whispered softly while he cupped her chin to tilt her head up in his direction. "If you're not well, you can't hide that from me. If something's wrong, you tell me, if you're sick, you let me take care of you. You don't do any of this alone, under any circumstance. We're a team, understand?"
(Y/n) wasn't sure she could use her voice anymore so she settled for nodding up at him with the deepest look of love in her eyes.
Her chest felt like it was fit to burst with the amount of adrenaline coursing through her system and her lungs were on fire when Eddie captured her in a kiss and stole every ounce of air from her lungs. She could feel his thumb tracing her chin and across her lower lip and she couldn't help but lean forward into him which made him smile against her lips.
And when she took his hand and pressed his palm to her stomach where she felt a round of kicks, his lips curved into the widest grin she had ever seen.
Hello ~~ How about "Moustache - accident - hot" for Eddie Diaz? There's so many ways, it could go wrong or right
Tagging: @kmc1989 @gatefleet @tigolebittiez @mckinleysbones @totalstitchlover19
Companion piece to:
Box Breathing - Eddie's been struggling since Christopher left.
Always - You make a promise to Eddie.
Real - Eddie tells you he wants something real.
A Future With You - Eddie makes a realisation during a one on one game of basketball.
Eddie finds your secret Instagram entirely by accident. He’s scrolling through his feed one day when app pops up ‘people you may know’.
Mostly it’s people who are connected to Chris, his math tutor, his bestie’s mom, people he really doesn’t want to associate with on social media but then he comes across one that catches his eye.
That_bookish_bitch.
The profile pic is of a book he doesn’t recognise propped up on a coffee table that he does. It’s one he helped you upcycle not too long ago. He still has the color Nebula Blue smeared across one of his old t-shirts.
He spends his time in-between calls studying the account. It’s a very popular bookstagram, showcasing the novels that you’ve been reading. They’re all filthy books, books that make even him blush because the stuff in them, it’s stuff that he’s only ever fantasied about.
Knowing that you’re into it too, well it does a little something to him.
It’s when he comes across the post about ‘Cash’ that he learns your views on moustache riding and the thought of you sitting on his face, taking your pleasure it’s hot, so hot that he ends up fucking his fist in the bathroom because he can’t get the idea out of his head.
It’s three hours later that he runs into you, he’s coming off shift and you’re coming on. He thinks he has a mind stutter in that moment because the words are already out of his mouth before he can stop them.
“With Christopher away in Texas I’ve been trying to do a little more reading. Anything you’d recommend?”
“Yea.” You say reaching into your satchel, it’s packed with two or three books that he can see, it takes you a minute to select one before you pull it out and hand it to him.
He looks down at the cover and his cheeks start to flush because it’s that damn book.
Cash…
“Thanks for the like by the way.” You say patting his shoulder as he stands there in daze, because of course his fucking finger must have slipped when he was reading your review. “Let me know what you think about page 103.”
Collision
TW/CW: Car accident, injuries.
Pairing: Evan Buckley x Diaz!Reader
You smiled to yourself as you walked beside Christopher, your nephew. You had watched him in the morning while your brother was working, and Carla was attending an appointment. You didn’t mind though, you absolutely adored him, and he enjoyed spending time with you.
You had an hour to kill before dropping him off to Carla, and heading off to work yourself, so you decided to swing by the station to have lunch with the team. It was quiet when you arrived, indicating the team were on a call. You took it upon yourself to make lunch for everybody, knowing it would be a relief to them when they got back. Chris was sat at the table on his tablet, in a world of his own, allowing you to focus on the food. You couldn’t help but smile to yourself as the sound of the shutters opening filled the station followed by heavy boots thudding against the floor as each firefighter jumped out of the truck. The footsteps got closer, the faint smell of smoke mixed with a familiar aftershave filled your nostrils and you instinctively lean back into the body that is now behind you as arms snake around your waist. “Isn’t this a nice surprise?”
You turn towards the voice, and smile, “Apparently, I can’t seem to stay away.” You lean up to kiss Buck, causing Chris to pull a disgusted face. This seemed to amuse Buck, and he kissed you again. Eddie appeared in the kitchen, and made his way over to his son, visibly happy to see him. “Come on guys, get a room.” You rolled your eyes playfully at your brothers comment, and pulled away from Buck.
You dished up the food for the team and took a seat, eager to hear about the call they had just been on. You listened intently as you ate, your complete focus on Buck as he spoke passionately about the call. Your heart warmed as you watched his face light up, he loved how much you genuinely enjoyed hearing about the calls, and how his day had gone. Chimney was the next to speak up, “It was a good call, except the part where Buck was playing hero and nearly got himself killed.” Bucks eyes widened and he turned to look at Chimney, giving him a look that immediately stopped him talking. Chimney, trying to help, began speaking again, “Don’t worry, it’s nothing out of the ordinary. It wasn’t any more dangerous than a simple call, the risk is always there. Besides, it was probably one of the safer times Buck tried to save the day, you should’ve seen him on the call last week.”
“Chim, stop talking.” Buck, who was now visibly on the spot, turned to face you. He studied your face, working out how to approach this. He opened his mouth to reassure you, but you beat him to it, “I thought we spoke about this…” Buck knew you understood that no day was guaranteed, and that saving people on calls was something he would always try to do, even if it put him at risk. He also knew that he had a habit of jumping the gun and putting himself in dangerous situations without thinking it through. “I’m sorry…”
You checked your watch, and stood up. “I just wish you’d be more careful, Buck.” Chris stood up and hugged Eddie goodbye, and you did the same. “Later bro.” You said goodbye to the team and walked back to the car with Chris by your side. The breeze hit you, and you took a deep breath. Maybe you were overreacting, maybe not but you just needed a moment. You helped Chris into the car and got in yourself, turning on the radio. The short ride to Carlas mostly consisted of Chris laughing as you sang along to the music, and the occasional conversation when Chris wasn’t overly engrossed in his phone. Carla was there to greet you when you pulled up on her drive, Chris was extremely excited and practically jumped out of the car to hug her. Carla gave you a hug, “Y/N, it’s so good to see you!” You smiled and hugged back, “It’s been a while, huh? Life has been hectic.” Carla laughs at this, “You’re telling me, your brother told me all about you and Buck. Moving in together? That’s a big step!”
“We were practically living together anyway, and if I’m being honest, Eddie is probably just relieved to have his couch back. I was starting to get on his nerves.” You explained to Carla, and she chuckled. “Well, I wish you all the best. I’m gonna get Chris inside, and I’ll let you run off to work. It was lovely seeing you.” You hug Chris goodbye and bid farewell to Carla before getting into your car and beginning your journey to your place of work. In front of you, the amber light turned to red and you stopped. You could see that traffic was beginning to build up on the other side of the junction, and you didn’t want to be late. You sighed, and made the decision to take an alternate route, so when the light turned green, you indicated and pulled out to begin taking your turning. You let out a sudden gasp before you could even properly register the car coming towards you. All you could do was attempt to brace for the impact, and so you did.
A loud crunching sound surrounded you, followed by the feeling of being thrown as your car was barrelled into. You closed your eyes tightly, scared of what was next. You didn’t have the courage to open them again until the car steadied. The first thing you could see was the airbag in front of you, despite not feeling it deploy moments before. You could smell the burning of the tyres, outside of the car, you could hear the panicked voices of bystanders, but all you could focus on was the blood that was now spread across your arms, unsure of where it was actually coming from. You weren’t in pain, at least you couldn’t feel any in that moment. Is that what shock feels like? You couldn’t think, but your eyes got heavy and you fought your hardest not to succumb to the darkness.
Back at the station, the call was only just coming in. The alarm blared throughout the station, alerting the team to the call. They were quick to jump into action, grabbing their gear and piling themselves into their assigned trucks. Eddie and Buck sat beside each other, speaking casually between themselves about what had happened earlier. “Just give her some time, she’ll come around. For her, two of the people she loves most are at risk everyday, you’ve gotta imagine it can’t be easy. It’s a risky job as it is, and when you put yourself into riskier situations without needing to, it decreases the chance of making it home at the end. She’s scared. Just talk to her.” Eddie attempted to reassure Buck, who was feeling terrible. He couldn’t shake the image of your face from his mind, the face that showed disappointment in his actions. Before Buck could respond, the truck halted and the team jumped out, ready to give help where needed. Buck stopped in his tracks as an all too familiar car was crushed before him. He tried not to panic, hoping that his suspicions were wrong. His eyes flicked to the number plate and his heart stopped. His feet were moving before his mind could catch up. He shouted your name, drawing Eddies attention. It took Eddie a few seconds to process what was happening. You had not long left the station, it couldn’t possibly be you. Right?
Buck arrived to your car first, nausea washed over him as he caught sight of your injured body. “Y/N? Hey, it’s me. I’m here.” You weren’t completely aware of what was happening, your eyes opened with a struggle. Your movements were weak as you turned your head to look at him. “Buck?” You spoke quietly, not completely aware of the situation at hand. “Don’t move, try and keep still.” He tried to remain as calm as he could, he didn’t want to scare you any more, he was terrified himself. Eddie ran right over to the car, his heart racing as he feared what he would find. His first instinct was to check the back seat, relief finally washing over him as he saw no sign of Christopher. Still, he needed to make sure, “Y/N, was Chris in the car?”
You shook your head, “Carlas.” Eddie felt a weight off his shoulders, knowing his son was safe. The weight soon came back when he saw the condition you were in. Your eyes rolled back, and you fell into unconsciousness. Bobby was running the scene, assigning Hen and Chim to medically assist you, and he grabbed the gear to support Buck and Eddie in freeing you from the car. Buck didn’t want to let go of your hand, but he knew he had to in order to get you out sooner. The team worked tirelessly, ensuring to be as careful as possible. Bobby handed the halligan to Buck, “Buck, you focus on getting the doors open. Diaz, grab the saw and be on standby.”
Buck groaned as he tried to pry the doors open, with no results, “Roofs too dented Cap, I can’t get it open.” Bobby nodded, and turned to Eddie, “Saws it is. Get in there Diaz, Buck, you too.” The roof was off in no time, Hen and Chim jumped straight in and equipped you with a neck brace, and got the back board in place to move you. Hen checked your vitals quickly, trying to make sure you were steady enough to be moved. “I’ve got a faint pulse, we gotta move.” They moved you out of you car quickly, and transferred you to the ambulance. “Trauma to the abdomen, possible internal bleeding. I’ll let the hospital know we’re en route.” Buck jumps into the back of the ambulance with Chimney, and instantly takes your hand in his. Hen places herself into the drivers seat, putting the ambulance into 911 mode and begins the journey as fast as she can to the nearest hospital.
Buck hated seeing you like this. He was filled with anxiety, the nausea constantly there as he studied your visible injuries. His heart sank with every second that went by, the more he thought about you laying there almost lifeless, expecting you to flatline any second now. “I’m sorry baby, we can’t leave things like this. I need you to get through this so I can apologise to you. I know I’m not the easiest person to love, and I also know that I’m the biggest pain in the ass, but I love you, and I need you. Please.” Buck sobbed as he held your hand tighter. Time seemed to be going extremely slow for Buck, yet moments later Hen was pulling up at the hospital. You were rushed in, Hen spewed all your information to the nurses as you were wheeled in and handed over. Buck, Hen and Chimney stood there as you were wheeled out of sight. One of the nurses stopped Buck from running after you, and he sat defeated in the waiting room. The rest of the team arrived soon after, Eddies face was similar to Bucks. Eddie spoke first, “Any update?” The lack of response from Buck had him on edge, fearing the worst. Luckily, Chimney filled the silence. “There’s no update, but no news it almost always good news.”
Eddie placed his hand on Bucks shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze before sitting down next to him. “How’re you holding up?” Buck didn’t look up, instead he kept his head in his hands. He couldn’t respond, he couldn’t trust his voice not to give out. His leg bounced anxiously, and despite not talking, his feelings were painfully obvious. Eddie could empathise, he knew exactly what was going through Bucks mind. It was happening to him too, but he concealed it as much as he could, knowing Buck needed him. “You know, each time we’re sat in these chairs, it never gets easier. You don’t have to talk, I get it. I think you should know that I’m right here for you, I understand. Y/N is going to be okay, that I have no doubt about. She’s my sister, and us Diaz’s, we don’t back down. We fight.” Eddie continues talking, and he’s not sure whether he’s trying to convince Buck or himself.
A few hours go by, and the team are waiting as patiently as they can for an update. Maddie had arrived some time ago, and was sat with Buck. She was not only there to support her brother, but also her brothers girlfriend, who Maddie had claimed as her best friend shortly after meeting her. Bobby hands a coffee to Buck and Eddie, who hadn’t moved from their seats since arriving. This changed moments later as a nurse approached, making them stand. Buck felt as if his legs were going to give way any second. The nurse cleared her throat, “She’s stable. She’s incredibly lucky to have made it out with the injuries she did, it could’ve been a lot worse. She’s awake, if you’d like to go see her.”
Buck didn’t stick around to hear whatever else the nurse had to say, he darted through the corridor until he got to your room. He stopped to take a deep breath, and stepped inside. He was scared to look at you, all he could picture was you covered in blood still. His head shot up as he heard a voice, your voice to be exact, “Buck?”
He was by your bedside in a blink of an eye, taking your hand in his. His eyes wandered over your body, taking in each of your injuries. His heart broke a little more with each one. He finally looked you in the eyes, and that’s when it hit him. His eyes filled up with tears, “Y/N…”
“Hey, don’t cry. I’m fine, see. I’m right here.” You gave his hand a squeeze, trying to give him the reassurance he needed. Buck took a seat close to your bed, your hand in his and against his lips. You move your hand up to his cheek and wipe his tears, Buck practically melted into your touch. “I really thought I had lost you.”
“I’m right here, I’m not going anywhere. I need to apologise for my reaction earlier, that could’ve been our last conversation earlier and left without saying goodbye, or telling you how much I love you.”
Buck shook his head, “You have nothing to apologise for, I’m the one that owes you an apology. I’m sorry that I’m not more careful when I’m out on a call, I shouldn’t be that reckless. I’m sorry that I can’t promise to walk through that door every night, safe and unscathed. I can appreciate how you feel now, and I promise I’ll try my hardest to be more careful. I love you, and I don’t want you ever feeling anything close to what I’ve felt today.” You wince as you sit up, making Buck panic. You push through the pain, and pull Buck to you. “Come here.” He stands from his chair and leans down to kiss you quickly. He carefully moves your hair from your face, ensuring he doesn’t touch any of your cuts or bruises.
“I love you too, and even though I’m petrified that you won’t make it home one day, I trust that you’ll try everything in your power to make sure you do. I’m proud of you, Evan.” As you spoke, Buck smiled to himself. A sense of relief washed over him. Before he could respond, you continued. “So… does this mean I can finally get a new car now?”
Buck chuckled, “You’re a pain in the ass, Diaz.”
“Takes one to know one, Buck.”
A/N: So, I think I rewrote this like 10 times. Its been a while since I've done any writing, so please bare with me while I figure out my writing style again. Any criticism is welcome, I appreciate the feedback.
Hi there! I have an eddie diaz request please. I don't know if you've seen the boyfriend door lean on tiktok but I was thinking eddie either comes across it and tries it on reader to see if it works (reader is a bookworm) or he does it without knowing what it is and reader melts (in either scenario) and she explains and shows it to him and he says he'll have to do it more often? All cute fluffy and adorable if you can please. Thank you!!
summary Eddie finds out about the 'door frame lean' thing on tiktok and tries it on you.
word count 950
tags fluffy and a bit spicy, Chris!!, Eddie's a menace
a/n hope I did this request justice because I absolutely adore that idea! Need someone to do this for me? Also Eddie would most definitely do this at any chance after realising how it had you going crazy 😭 I used this tiktok as a reference by the way!
You're sitting up against the headboard with your book in your hands and a glass of wine on the nightstand next to you, simply passing time until your boyfriend comes home from his 24 hour shift.
You're almost done with it when you hear the front door open and close, a bag being dropped on the floor and shoes messily discarded next to the shoe rack (it seems no matter how many times you get mad at him for not putting his shoes away he forgets it and repeats the same mistake).
Moments later you see him walk along the hallway to your shared bedroom. His hair is messy instead of combed back like it was this morning when he'd made sure to ask you if it looked good, and the exhaustion is clear on his face.
You close your book after putting the bookmark between the pages you were reading and look at him with a smile that he easily reciprocates.
“Rough shift?” you move off the bed and walk to lean against the door frame as he approaches. “Yeah. People are stupid,” you chuckle and he stops in front of you, reaching his left hand up and placing it on the door frame and easily leaning his head down to look at you.
You're entirely caught off guard, not sure whether to look into his eyes or focus on the fact that this position was very flattering on his biceps. You swallow nervously which he catches and tilts his head with a small smirk.
“What? Why do you look nervous, amor?” He asks huskily and puts his other hand on your waist. That's just about your last straw and you fluster and look away, “Uh, no, just- how was your shift?”
He laughs and lets go of the door frame to wrap his arms around your waist and pull you closer until he can reach your neck and bury his face in it. You're pretty sure he can feel your pulse being abnormally high from where he'd placed his head, so in hopes of not making him aware of how crazy this entire situation had you going you bury your hands in his hair and gently scratch his scalp. Something you knew would make him melt any time you did it.
He grunts and his arms tighten around your waist, fingers pressing into the middle of your lower back. “Fuck,” he mumbles, “That feels good.”
Your whole ruse to distract him backfired because he just kept getting more sexy and you're pretty sure he either knew exactly what he was doing or was totally unaware of the effect this whole interaction was having on you.
“Dad, you're home!” Chris distracts both of you and Eddie kisses your pulse point and squeezes your waist again before crouching down to lift Chris into his arms and hug him tight. “Hey, buddy. Aren't you supposed to be asleep? It's almost nine thirty.”
You watch them and take the moment to gather your wits again because, oh my god. You'll never be able to read about the door frame lean in a book again without thinking about this.
Later that night when you're both in bed, his head placed on your chest as he patiently waits for you to finish reading the chapter so you could play with his hair, he looks up at you, “I didn't actually believe that door frame thing would work.”
Your jaw drops and you look at him with furrowed brows, “What do you mean?”
“That.. what's it called? Booktok. Buck was talking about it because he thought it was funny and mentioned how I should know what that is since you read so much. I didn't so I looked it up. Who knew you'd fold so easily?” He teases and you glare at him in slight embarrassment and take your hand from his hair.
“Stop teasing me about it.” He laughs and shakes his head, “Never. You looked way too cute, though I almost got worried with how high your pulse was getting…”
You gasp and flick his forehead with your index finger, about to throw some insult at him when the door opens and Christopher stands in the doorway.
Eddie sits up and you put your book on the nightstand, “Chris? Everything okay, love?” You ask and he pouts. “Nightmare. Can I sleep here tonight?”
You look at Eddie with a worried expression and he slightly shrugs but scoots to the side to make space for the ten year old. He crawls into the middle of you and you pull the blanket up to his shoulders. He looks at you with big eyes and you smile, knowing what he wanted, before carding your hand through his hair. He hums happily and Eddie looks at you slightly offended, “He's stealing your attention.”
You snort and roll your eyes, “You can wait until he's asleep.” Chris grins happily at his father and then at you. “I'm cuter anyway,” Eddie gasps and you laugh as the two banter.
One look at the clock though and you're shushing them both with a forehead kiss, “Alright now, time to sleep.” Eddie looks happy with himself, taking that as him getting all your attention now and you raise one eyebrow, “You too.”
Chris giggles and then settles down, same as Eddie after he scowls at you. You click off the small lamp on your nightstand and see Chris already snoozing with Eddie watching him fondly.
Placing your hand in Eddie's hair instead you whisper ‘I love you’ which he repeats and puts his arm over Chris to put his hand on your hip, falling asleep not long after.
Rough Night
Warnings: 18+ ONLY, Thruple Dynamic, Smut
It was 4:56 am when you flopped over in bed for what felt like the 100th time. You were on the verge of tears at this point because all you wanted was to sleep. You let out a frustrated whine that stirred the sleeping being next to you,
“Y/n. It’s 5 in the morning,” Buck said with his face still smushed into his pillow.
“I can’t sleep.”
He sighed deeply and turned on the bedside lamp; turning over to prop his head in his hand and look at you,
“What can I do?”
“Nothing,” you said with a furrow in your brow.
“Nothing?” He asked, trying to catch your eye. You briefly look at him before huffing and looking up at the ceiling,
“My mind won’t shut off.”
“What’s going on?” His brow started to furrow a bit. The thought of you being riddled with stress or anxiety gave him stress and anxiety.
“I don’t like him out there by himself. He should’ve called.”
Buck’s realization set in and he let out a small chuckle,
“Babe. He’s not alone,” he said reaching out to caress the side of your face.
“You’re not with him,” you said finally turning your head to him.
“It’s a simple call. They didn’t need me.”
“If it’s so simple then why hasn’t he called?”
“Aha. I don’t know. But if he hasn’t called now then it just means he’s on his way.” Buck barely got to finish the sentence when the deep click of the front door being unlocked sent shockwaves through your body. You spring leaped out of bed practically busting through the bedroom door like the Kool-Aid Man to race down the hall.
Your brain registered Eddie coming through the door, but failed to send the signal to your feet to stop,
“Whoa! Ha ha! Hi!” You jumped in his arms giving him no time to put his stuff down. The grip you had on around his neck looked lethal, but was filled with nothing than love and relief. You began peppering his neck and face with kisses until he finally caught you lips.
Buck came around the hall and smiled at the sight in front of him. Eddie walked the rest of the way through the door, shutting it and dropping his belongings. He wrapped his arms around you, kissing you deeply. He started to spin around and you had a giggle fit. You settled down quickly looking in his eyes,
“Hi.”
“Hi,” he stared at you for a couple more seconds before kissing you on the nose and putting you down,
“What are you still doing up?”
“She’s had a rough night,” Buck said coming up behind you.
“Oh yeah? Rough how?” Eddie said expressing slight concern. The look in his eyes made your stomach do the thing and you instinctively looked back at Buck. Not to look for approval, but you’re honestly not really sure why. He just nodded his head and you turned yours back to Eddie.
You’re still getting adjusted to expressing your feelings so you had a staring contest with his chest,
“I don’t like when you go on runs without him.” You slightly turned half of your body towards Buck before looking back to Eddie with a pout.
Eddie looked at Buck in such awe of the girl between them. He grabbed the sides of your face with both hands, pulling you into a sweet kiss. Suddenly you feel fingers tracing your arms before a wet, spongy sensation was being placed on both shoulders. Buck kissed from your shoulders to where the side of your neck connected, biting lightly then running his tongue over the slight sting.
You moaned at all of the attention you were getting when Eddie released the kiss and Buck turned your head, shoving his tongue in your mouth. Eddie took over where Buck left off and attacked the left side of your neck. He kissed down to the exposed skin on your chest peeking from your tank top before kissing down your clothed body.
When he was on his knees in front of you, you felt your shorts being pulled down now exposing the cotton panties you were wearing. Eddie left open mouthed kisses both of your hip bones, teasingly lowering your panties. Buck’s hand wrapped around the side of your neck when you felt a slick strip being placed on your pussy.
You moan instinctively, breaking the kiss from Buck to look down at Eddie. Your chest was rising and falling so hard, but he looked up at you with his mouth never ceasing to stop. Letting out a low growl, he pulled your hips into his face even more. You let out an audible gasp when you reach for Buck’s hands and place them on your clad tits. He immediately began kneading and pinching at your hardening nipples. You rested your head back flush against his chest and closed your eyes.
Buck started to remove the straps from your shoulders when you felt Eddie’s hand scale all the way up your body and wrap around your throat, pinning you in the position. Your tank top was down around your midsection with a hand around your throat and kisses being placed randomly on your upper body.
Buck lifted the tank top up and off completely before teasing your lips with two fingers. You instinctively open your mouth, taking in the same fingers that have given you orgasm after orgasm. He pushes past the soft palate of your tongue until he feels your throat constrict around his fingers and fight against Eddie’s grip. You gag with his hand in your mouth earning a deep moan in your ear. He slowly pulls out, draping the string of saliva down your chin and letting it run down. He keeps doing that until he’s gathered enough for a nice streak to run between the valley of your breasts and down your stomach.
You are incredibly close to cumming when Eddie licks a full strip from your pussy up to the stream waiting for him. He stands up biting your shoulder just as roughly as Buck when he looks his partner in the eye. You couldn’t see Buck’s reaction, but you could guess what it was by the way you’re being flung over Eddie’s shoulder. He lands a nice slap to your ass before beelining for the bedroom. You look up briefly to see Buck right behind, taking off his shirt with a smirk.
You only heard the door close, but the neighbors heard everything else.
It was early in the morning when you were woken up by Eddie giving you a kiss on the cheek. You and Eddie have been dating for a few weeks now and are really happy together. Yesterday Eddie came to your apartment after work and surprised you while Buck was taking care of Christopher. You haven’t met his friends or Chris yet, but Eddie told you that he plans for you to meet them soon.
You and Eddie stayed in bed cuddling for a few more minutes until his timer went off. You let out a groan and he chuckled.
“I’m sorry, mi amor, but I have to get up now.” Eddie said while gently drawing circles on your back.
“Just five more minutes, please.” You said, he smiled at you and pulled you closer to him. After five minutes you understood that he really had to go now, even though you were sad that he was leaving. When he stood at your apartment door, you hugged him one more time and Eddie pulled you into a soft kiss.
“Do we see us after your shift?” You asked while holding his hand.
“Of course.” He said with a smile.
“Be safe.” You told him before he left the apartment. When Eddie leaves or when you know he is at work you’re always so worried about him, even though he has told you that he will always take good care of himself.
There was still time before you had to go to work, so you took a shower, had breakfast and then you decided to watch something on the TV in your room. As you entered your room, you noticed something laying on the floor. It looked like one of your necklaces, but when you got closer you saw that it was Eddie’s St. Christopher medallion. You picked it up from the floor and held it in your hand, looking at it with a smile. When a thought suddenly popped into your mind. It means so much to Eddie and he's probably looking for it. You put your shoes on and decided to drive to the station and bring it back to Eddie.
After a short drive you parked your car outside of the 118. You were nervous because you have never been there before and never even met the others. Even though you already know a lot about them based on the stories Eddie told you. When you walked into the station you noticed that the fire truck is here which means Eddie should be here as well. You couldn’t see him, but when you walked further into the station you saw a young, friendly looking guy walking towards you.
“Hey, can I help you?”
“I’m looking for Eddie Diaz.” You said nervously.
“He's upstairs, you can come with me.” He said and walked over to the stairs.
When you reached the top of the stairs you followed him into the kitchen where everyone was. You looked around and saw Eddie talking to someone. You noticed the guy he was talking to, it’s Buck.
“Eddie here is someone for you.” He said, Eddie turned around and was surprised when he saw you.
“Mi amor, you okay?” Eddie asked in a worried tone as he walked closer to you. You could see that the others were confused at first but then started to smile.
“Yeah, I’m okay, Eddie.” You said and Eddie reached for your hand.
“I found something in my apartment and because I know how much it means to you I thought I'd quickly bring it back to you before I go to work.” You explained, opened your bag and pulled out his St. Christopher medallion. You handed it to Eddie, who began to smile.
“Thank you. I was already looking for it.” He said and you smiled at him. He wanted to pull you into a kiss, but when you remembered that all his friends were here you started to blush.
“Oh, who do we have here.” one of Eddie's colleagues said as he entered the room.
“Chim, this is Y/N my girlfriend.” Eddie announced and then began introducing you to all of his colleagues and friends.
“And you must be Buck.” You said and he chuckled.
“Yeah that’s me.”
“It’s great to finally meet you, Eddie has told me a lot about you.”
“I hope only good things.” Buck said and everyone started to chuckle.
“Of course, don’t worry.” You giggled and then looked at the clock.
“It was really nice meeting you all, but I have to go to work now.” You told the others and then looked back at Eddie. They all understood and before saying goodbye you all agreed that you would meet again soon. Eddie walked downstairs with you and when you reached your car, he finally kissed you again.
“I know you didn't want me to meet your friends like this, but when I found your St. Christopher medallion I had to bring it to you.”
“It’s okay, you don’t need to worry. Actually, I’m really glad you came here today.” He said and pulled you into a hug. When you pulled away, you smiled at each other and said goodbye to each other.
ride it like a Harley - eddie diaz x reader
Everyone had their own opinions on Eddie’s mustache. Bobby, Hen, Buck, and Chris were strongly opposed to it. Chim, Maddie, Athena, and Karen loved it, and thought it made him look distinguished.
And you?
You were attracted to your boyfriend any day of the week, but something about the mustache made you feral. And the fact that it made you feral, was making Eddie feral.
This might explain why you were currently sitting in Eddie’s lap, in the middle of his bed, making out like a bunch of teenagers. Eddie takes your bottom lip between his and sucks on it, before pressing kisses behind your ear, and down your throat, leaving red marks in its wake.
You were wearing only two articles of clothing: Eddie’s LAFD shirt and a pair of red underwear. Eddie on the other hand, was fully clothed, adorned in a beige Henley and a pair of ridiculously tight jeans, that were even tighter because of all the kissing.
Suddenly, Eddie pulls away, and lies flat on his back. He grips your waist and urges you up.
“Sit on my face, sweetheart. I wanna taste you.”
You’re a little hesitant, but Eddie’s not having any of it. He pulls you forward and up his body, so that your thighs are on either side of his face.
“Mm. My favourite type of earmuffs.” Eddie says, caressing your thighs. You laugh at his cheesy line, but the laugh is cut off when Eddie pulls your underwear to the side and licks a stripe between your lips without any preamble. Your hands fall to the headboard in front of you, scrambling to find purchase anywhere possible.
Eddie’s mustache tickles you as he sucks your clit into his mouth. You’re sure you’ll be sore everywhere tomorrow, but for now, looking down at Eddie and his glistening mouth, there’s no place you’d rather be.
Tease Me Please Me
Entering the station, you take a moment to yourself to bask in the quietness of the house. The fire station was fairly empty at the moment, with it being morning and all. The only person seemingly out is Eddie, who’s cleaning the firetruck.
You smirk to yourself as you approach him, "What’s cookin’ good lookin’?” You call out, before leaning up against the side of the firetruck.
Eddie, who’s focused on his work, seems to pause for a second at your voice, before realizing it’s you. He looks over, shaking his head with a small scoff, his annoyance not being genuine.
"That’ll never get old to you, will it?"
You smile up at him, crossing your arms as you lean your head on the truck.
“Of course not; Nothing wrong with a little harmless flirting, Eds." You chuckle to yourself as you begin to admire his appearance, watching the way his muscles flex as he works on polishing the firetruck.
As you call him by the nickname you’ve picked up from Buck, he once again pauses, this time fully turning to look at you.
"Harmless for you maybe, I’m the one who has to actually deal with it."
You tilt your head to the side as you shrug, your grin growing larger as you continue to tease him, "Come on Eddie…I’m not that bad, am I?"
Eddie’s eyes meet your gaze as he sets down his rag, "(Y/n). You flirt with me every chance you get. I’m pretty sure that Buck, Chim, and Hen have a bet on when you’re gonna jump me."
You hum, acting oblivious as you shrug again, “And here I’d hoped I was subtle.”
“Yeah,” Eddie lets out a low chuckle, his eyes never leaving your face as he leans against the firetruck as well. "About as subtle as sirens in the dead of night."
You fake a pout, “I mean, it’s not my fault you’re insanely attractive, Eds.” You take a step closer to him, sticking your hand out as you lightly brush your fingers against his mustache.
“So, do you plan on keeping the ‘stache?”
Eddie’s eyes widen as you touch his face, the light, delicate caress sending a shiver down his spine. He sighs, keeping his eyes on yours.
“I-I don’t know.” He stutters out, the sudden proximity and the way you’re looking at him makes his breath catch in his throat for a brief moment. His gaze drops to your lips for a fraction of a second, before he clears his throat and pulls away. “Why? Don’t like it?”
Your face softens as he leans into your touch, your heart practically pounding as your eyes lock onto each other’s.
“Oh no,” You pause for a moment, letting your hand fall away as you admire his face, “I like it. A lot, actually.”
Surprise flickers in his eyes, but only for a moment. Still, you notice it. Before he can say anything else, the sound of footsteps echos from behind you guys
You turn to look behind you and see Bobby emerging from his office, a small grin on his face.
“Good morning you two. Did I interrupt something?”
“No, Cap,” Eddie instantly straightens, clearing his throat and glancing away, trying to act casual. “Just finishing up here.”
Bobby hums, seeing right through Eddie’s act, his smile growing as he turns to you. “And what about you?”
You chuckle, sending another smile in Eddie’s direction, a hint of mischief in your eyes. “Just keeping him company.”
Eddie glances back at you, eyes narrowing slightly at the look on your face. He opens up his mouth to say something but is interrupted by Bobby continuing.
“Listen, I’m gonna have you guys hang back if we get any fire calls today. Eddie, I want you to be able to show (y/n) how the ambulance works on medical calls.”
You give Bobby an affirmative nod, “Sounds good to me. Hear that Eds? Sounds like you’re gonna be stuck with me all day.”
“Great.”
Bobby chuckles again, shaking his head at the two of you as he grabs a clipboard for his office and walks back inside.
The smirk immediately reappears on your face as you take a step closer to Eddie, looking up at him with wide (e/c) eyes.
“Aw come on, don’t look so grumpy.” You give his shoulder a playful shove; trying not to let your thoughts linger on how hard his muscles feel under your touch. “You get me all to yourself, shouldn’t you be happy?”
Eddie rolls his eyes, shaking his head in mock annoyance, though he can’t help the smile that curls at the corner of his lips. “Oh, I’m ecstatic.”
You grin wider, knowing you managed to get him to smile. You give his shoulder another pat, letting your hand linger for a moment, before stepping back again. “That’ll work for me.”
You give him a wink before turning and heading in the direction of the locker room to change.
Eddie watches as you walk away, a mix of amusement and irritation playing across his features. Suddenly the sound of Buck and Chim’s voices breaks his gaze, and he quickly averts his eyes, getting back to work on cleaning the truck.
A few moments later, you reappear, now in your uniform. Leaving the top unbuttoned just enough to barely expose the skin of your chest, but still technically fall within the dress code.
You open your mouth to call out to Eddie when the station alarm suddenly starts ringing.
Eddie’s head snaps in your direction at the sound of the alarm, immediately noticing your outfit. His eyes roam over the exposed skin of your chest for just a second before averting his gaze. Buck, Chim, and Hen appear from the loft and rush past you guys to the fire truck.
Chim, Hen, and Buck are about to hop in the truck when Bobby stops them, averting his attention over at you and Eddie.
“(y/n) Eddie, dispatch said that this call was just a small structure fire, and no injuries were reported.”
You nod as you glance toward Eddie, “So you want us to stay back?”
Bobby nods, “That’s right. If we need anything though, we’ll let you know through the radio.”
Eddie lets out a small sigh, stuffing his hands in his pockets. “Got it.”
You glance over at him, your eyes lingering on his for a moment before looking back at Bobby, “We’ll be on standby then.”
Bobby nods again, patting the side of the ambulance before turning to get into the firetruck. Buck sends both you and Eddie smirks, wiggling his eyebrows as he follows Hen and Chim into the back of the truck.
Eddie ignores them, moving to lean against the back of the ambulance, crossing his arms.
The sunlight makes his brown hair almost shine. His dark brown eyes have an almost golden look. Despite having been up since the early morning, he is still somehow effortlessly attractive. His uniform shirt hugs his upper body in the most delicious way, his muscular build being noticeable through the thin fabric.
You're snapped from your daze as Bobby flips on the lights and sirens and swiftly pulls out of the station.
You let out an internal sigh as you drink in the sight of him, your head filling with thoughts of how the fabric would feel against your fingers. You had only been on the job for a few months, but you somehow already wanted to do unspeakable things to this man. You take a step closer to him, leaning on the back of the ambulance.
“What do we do now? Just…wait?”
As you step closer to him, Eddie’s head turns to you, his eyes roaming over you for a moment before he speaks. There’s a slight hint of tension in his voice, though he tries to play it off.
“Yeah.” He lets out a huff of air, his eyes darting out to the street before settling back onto you.
You hum, looking over at him and tilting your head slightly so that you’re looking at him dead on. You continue to admire him, your eyes slowly raking over his face.
“So…how long do you think they’ll be gone for?”
Eddie sighs as your gaze lands on him, your smirk already telling him that you most likely have something in mind.
“If it’s just a small fire then I’d say probably an hour and a half.”
A mischievous look fills your eyes when he says an hour and a half. You bite your lip to suppress a smile as you push yourself up off the ambulance, moving to stand directly in front of him, your bodies nearly touching.
“An hour and a half, huh? That’s an awful lot amount of time for us to be…alone.” As you speak to him, your voice has a low, almost sultry tone to it; it takes everything in him to not shiver.
He lets out a shaky breath, glancing around for a brief moment before focusing back on you and clearing his throat.
“And what do you suggest we do?”
Your smirk softens into a more suggestive smile. You reach up and brush a strand of hair out of his face, your fingers ever-so-slightly grazing his skin.
“Well, I could think of a few things.”
He lets out a quiet gasp at your touch. His muscles are coiled, and you can see the way his jaw clenches in a halfhearted attempt to stop himself from reacting.
He swallows hard, his Adam's apple bobbing visibly, "You really need to stop doing that, (y/n).”
You move even closer to him, closing the tiny amount of space that was left between your bodies. Your hand moves, instead coming up to rest on his chest, just above his heart.
"Doing what, Eddie?" You look up at him, feigning innocence as you tilt your head to the side.
He can feel your body against his, the warmth from your skin sending jolts of electricity up his spine.
He looks down at you, a look of frustration and desire in his eyes, “You know damn well what I’m talking about.”
You bite your lip, holding back a chuckle as you see the look in his eyes. You can tell he’s fighting a losing battle, slowly giving in to his desires. You brush your thumb across the logo printed on the fabric of his uniform, feeling the hammering of his heart.
“Maybe I do. Maybe I don’t.” You hum.
"(Y/n)." he mutters, his voice a low, strained warning.
His resistance just adds fuel to the fire inside you. You want to see him lose control, want him to finally give in to the obvious tension between you two. You let your hand slowly trail down his side, lingering on his hip before coming to a rest on his thigh.
“Yeah?”
Eddie's breath hitches as your hand trails down his body, his hips twitching involuntarily when you rest your hand on his thigh. He swallows hard, the feeling of your body so close to his and your hand on his skin sending a shiver through his entire body. Your breath on his face does absolutely nothing to help him.
It takes every last ounce of restraint he has to not spin you around right here and—
“Well,” you abruptly distance yourself from Eddie, a sly smile curling on your lips. “I'm starving, so I'm gonna go fix myself something to eat."
He looks at you, blinking rapidly, his mind fighting to come up with a response while you smirk at him. However, all he can manage to say is a quiet “uh”
"Have fun being all alone, Eds." you wink, before waltzing away towards the kitchen.
He lets out a frustrated huff of air, his hands clenching and unclenching at his sides. Half torn between wanting to give in to your games and wanting to just grab you and slam you against the nearest wall.
Reaching the loft, you open the fridge and pull out a small pack of bacon. Cutting it open, you plop a pan onto the stove and lay a few slices onto the hot metal.
As you wait for your food to cook, you pull out your phone. You scroll through your Twitter to pass the time; completely oblivious to Eddie’s figure sneaking behind you, until it’s too late.
“You think you’re so damn funny, huh?” His breath feels hot against your neck as he murmurs in your ear, his voice low and dangerous.
Your eyes widen slightly, but before you can muster anything his body is pressed up against your back, his arms caging you against the counter in front of you.
A chill goes down your spine as you hear his voice, low and gravelly in your ear. The feeling of his body pressed against your back makes you shiver, the combination of his words and his breath on the sensitive skin of your neck makes you go weak in the knees.
“Depends on what you think is funny.” You manage to gasp out.
"You're a tease, (y/n). A goddamn tease." He growls in your ear, his lips brushing against the sensitive skin, sending a wave of heat through your body.
A shiver runs through your body when you feel his lips press against your neck, the feeling of his teeth nipping at your skin making you let out a sharp gasp. Your head tilts to the side almost involuntarily, giving him more access to your neck.
You grip the edge of the counter in front of you, trying your best to keep yourself upright.
"Cat got your tongue, sweetheart?" Eddie mutters against your neck
You let out a shaky breath as you turn your head towards him, the look in his eyes dark and full of desire. His thumb moves from your chin to your bottom lip, gently tracing the soft skin there.
You know you should reply to him, say something clever to keep up your usual attitude, but your mind is suddenly empty of anything but him.
His teeth lightly nip at your skin. You arch your back as best you can with the way he has you pinned against the counter.
"F-fuck, Eds—"
“I'm about two seconds away from bending you over this counter, don't push your luck." Eddie grins against your neck, his lips moving to bite at the sensitive spot just behind your ear.
"You'd like that, wouldn't you, sweetheart?" He murmurs, his voice low and full of desire. "Bent over the counter for anyone to see."
"Eddie, I-You can’t—" You gasp out, your back arching farther into him. You can feel his body pressed up against yours, his hips grinding into your backside.
Eddie hums against your neck, his hands running down your sides until they find the edge of your shirt, slipping underneath and trailing up your stomach. His touch sends jolts of electricity through you.
"Is this what you wanted, sweetheart? You wanted to drive me crazy, to have me lose control?" His breath fans against your skin.
Eddie's words make your head spin as your body responds almost instantly.
"It worked though, didn’t it?”
Before you can even realize what’s happening, Eddie’s spinning you around and bending you over the kitchen island so that you're facing the entrance of the station.
The feeling of his hips pressing against your backside makes a full-on moan escape your lips, his body heat almost overwhelming.
“Voy a hacerte comer esas palabras, princesa.” He growls into your ear.
Jesus Christ.
His Spanish makes your head spin, the low, sultry tone of his voice as he murmurs the words into your ear nearly sending you over the edge. You feel him press up against you, his hips rolling into you, the feeling of his growing arousal against your backside making a shudder go through your body.
You let out another moan, his name on your lips between gasps for air, “Oh my god.”
"You never know when to quit, do you?" He mutters against the back of your neck, his lips delicately trailing kisses down your spine.
You whimper at his touch, your body responding to him as if he's a drug and you're hopelessly addicted.
"It’s like you enjoy being a little minx, huh? Teasing me all day, getting me all bothered.”
Your mind is hazy, your thoughts consumed by the feeling of his lips on your skin, the sound of his voice in your ear, the touch of his hands on your hips.
"F-fuck,” you stutter out before biting down on your lip, trying to hold back another moan.
He rolls his hips into yours again, his body grinding against yours.
The friction from his hips against your clothed core has you gasping again, your hands gripping the edge of the counter for support. You feel like you're on fire, your entire body thrumming with heat and desire, and all you can think about is him.
“Eddie, please...” you gasp out, your head spinning from the combination of his touch and the sound of his voice in your ear.
Then suddenly, you feel him shuffle behind you. Confused, you crane your neck over your shoulder only to see him grabbing your phone. He leans back over your shoulder, bringing your phone up and holding it to your face. You can barely focus on the screen, your eyes unfocused and dazed.
"Unlock it."
You blink, the request taking a moment to register in your foggy mind. Still, you unlock your phone with shaky hands, managing to type in your passcode through your daze. You don’t know what he’s planning, but at this point, you’re so far gone you don’t even care.
He opens the camera app on your phone before propping it up a few inches in front of you; it perfectly captures the two of you.
“Good girl,” he whispers, his voice low in your ear. “Now let’s see just how much you regret your little game.”
Your eyes grow wide when you comprehend what he’s doing. The thought of it has you suddenly even more turned on. He hits the record button and roughly tugs down your tight uniform bottoms and sinks to his knees.
Your breath hitches at his actions. You can see yourself on the phone screen, your face flushed, your (e/c) eyes darkened with lust, your hair already slightly messy from the way he had you pinned down against the counter.
You try to turn around to look at him, but his hand finds the back of your head, "Keep your eyes on the camera, carñio."
Your breath catches in your throat at the pet name. You'd never seen this dominant side of Eddie, not to this extent at least.
"Y'know, you didn't even ask me if I wanted anything to eat."
Your mind is a hazy mess, your eyes half-lidded as you keep them focused on the camera. You’re at his mercy, and you find that you don’t mind it one bit.
You let out a gasp as you feel his hands move up your thighs, nearing where you need him the most, your breathing stuttering and your body shaking with anticipation.
“But that’s okay,” he continues, “I think I’ve found something much better to eat.”
You hear his words, but you’re too caught up in the feeling of his touch to process them, your mind still trying to regain some lucidity as his hands move even farther up your thighs, just barely grazing the lacy hem of your (f/c) underwear.
“God, you’re beautiful, sweetheart.” He murmurs, voice low and full of need. His hands grip the skin of your thighs, his touch slightly rough.
“And look at that, you’re soaking through your panties, carñio.” Carefully, he drags your underwear to the side, exposing your soaking folds to the cool air.
The feeling of his hands as they slide your underwear to the side has you trembling, your legs shaking as you try to keep yourself upright. You feel him sink to his knees behind you, his breath fanning against your skin, the proximity of his face to the core of your being has you clenching your teeth.
You can’t see his face, but you can feel his presence, and the anticipation is nearly enough to make you cry out.
Eddie runs his hands up your thighs, his touch firm and sure. Then, you feel his hands grip your hips, his fingers digging into your flesh. You shiver, your body growing hot in anticipation.
You can’t help but gasp as he lets his tongue run up your thigh, so close to where you need him most.
"I swear to g-god, Eddie. If you don't do-" Your words fail you as his tongue slowly breaches your wetness. He holds your hips steady as his tongue dips deeper, just barely breaching your slit.
"M-Motherfuck—" You moan out, your voice growing louder from the sudden pleasure.
Eddie pulls away from your folds with an obnoxiously dramatic pop, "You gotta stay quiet, princesa. Don't want the team to come back and hear these pretty noises, do we?"
You bite down on your lip again, trying to restrain your moans. But it's practically impossible with the way he's slowly teasing you.
"Y-you're being mean." You say, your words coming out shaky from your attempts to stay quiet. You can feel your clit throbbing with desperation.
"Mean?" He mutters, his breath fanning against your skin. "Me? Not at all. I'm being...very generous."
At an agonizing pace, he slides his fingers through your wetness, just missing your sensitive bud before bringing his fingers to his lips, his tongue licking around the digits.
"You taste so sweet...como el cielo.”
You let out a strangled whimper, your body begging for more as his hands continue to wander. He presses a kiss against your clit, the friction of his mustache making your eyes roll back.
“Please,” you gasp out, your voice just above a whisper. “Please, please, please…”
Eddie hums at your words, letting his tongue just barely brush against your sensitive bud. You swiftly cup your hand over your mouth to muffle your noises.
You look absolutely debauched as you catch sight of yourself in the camera. Your hair is falling in messy wisps across your forehead, uniform bunched around your hips, face flushed, and eyes darkened with lust; The sight of yourself only serves to heighten your arousal. Before you can say anything, you feel two of Eddie's thick fingers press into you, drawing a high-pitched whine from the back of your throat.
"F-fuck—" You bite down on your hand to keep yourself quiet. "More, Eddie—Now."
“Bossy little thing,” He growls as you speak, his fingers curling inside you. “You're not the one in charge here.” he gives a harsh suck against your soaking folds.
You glance at the camera, still recording the two of you. Eddie’s right; and that made something in your stomach turn violently.
You grip the counter, your fingers clenching and unclenching at the edge. You let out another moan, your eyes squeezing shut from the immense amount of sensation.
“So beautiful like this, sweetheart,” he mutters, his words partially muffled against your skin. “Aching and dripping for me. All mine.”
He curls his fingers again, pushing into the spot that makes you cry out, and you barely manage to muffle your cries against your hand.
“God, you’re so loud.”
"Eddie! P-please, please! M’sorry for earlier." You slur deliriously with pleasure, eyes brimmed with hot tears.
He can practically taste the desperation in your voice, feel the tension rippling through your body as he pumps his fingers inside you. He pulls away, standing and smirking, watching as your walls flutter around nothing.
“Are you?”
You nod eagerly, your head hazy with lust, but your mind is just lucid enough to know that your answer will have an effect.
“Yes—” you gasp out, your breathing heavy. “I’m so sorry! Please, Eddie, I’m sorry. I promise I won’t tease you anymore, just please!”
Eddie hums, low and satisfied. He runs his hands up your thighs, watching as they shake in his grip.
“We both know that's a lie, cariño.” He says, his tone slightly mocking. He leans in closer to you until his mouth is right by your ear.
“You know what they say, cariño. Payback’s a bitch.” He gives your shoulder one last teasing bite before dropping back to his knees.
Your mind is still reeling from his words, trying to catch up with the events that just took place. But that all quickly changes the moment you feel his tongue thrust into your soaked slit; replacing where his fingers had previously been.
You wail in delight. Your eyes clench tight once more as Eddie lets out a deep moan from behind you, your sweet taste flooding his tastebuds once again.
He grips your hips to keep you from moving too much, his mouth working you with a newfound fervor as you struggle to keep yourself upright.
"Jesus…just a little more, m'so close—"
This only serves to ignite Eddie. Hearing you admit how close you are, all because of him. The way you’re now falling apart at his touch makes him growl against your skin; the vibrations almost send you over the edge.
He reaches around, harshly rubbing at your sensitive bud as he pulls his mouth away, "Fuck, best meal I've ever had..."
“Oh god—“ You try to choke out, but the words quickly devolve into another whine. “Please, E-Eddie, I’m gonna—”
And right at that moment, a loud, familiar sound fills your and Eddie’s ears; the sound of the firetruck pulling up outside.
"Oh shit." You mutter, your (e/c) eyes growing wide. You glance back at Eddie, your breath catches at the sight of his face.
Eddie’s pupils are blown wide, his face red and sweaty, hair sticking to his forehead. He gives another shaky breath before his eyes lock onto the camera still pointing at your form. For a moment, he considers stopping the recording, but...
Maybe it’s the way you look, all breathless and needy. Or how your uniform is pulled down, completely exposing your bottom half. All Eddie knows, at this moment, is that you two can’t stop.
“Eddie, W-We can’t—“
“We can.” Eddie says, his voice firm.
He reaches out, grabs the camera from the island, and holds it inches from your face, his voice still firm.
“You see this? You see what you look like all flushed and whiny, princess?” You can hear him give a low noise, his voice slightly shaky. "tan hermosa, tan perfecta, toda mía."
You spare one last look over your shoulder to Eddie. His chin is practically dripping with your juices, his lips red and swollen.
His dark brown eyes meet yours. As you open your mouth to speak, he suddenly dives right back in. Going to work with a newfound vigor.
You feel your hips arch slightly against his mouth, your legs shaking and your breathing coming out in quick gasps. You clench your teeth, trying to keep yourself from crying out.
Your hands, which had been gripping the counter, quickly move to cover your mouth, trying to muffle your series of pathetic whines.
You bite down on your hand, as hard as you can to keep from moaning, but the more you hear your teammates' voices, the harder it is to keep yourself in check.
You listen to Buck's laughter, you hear the deep rumble of Bobby's voice talking about dinner plans, you hear Hen's voice as she enters a conversation with Chimney—
All you can think about at that moment is that at any second, any one of them could walk into the kitchen and see the two of you.
Shamefully, that thought is enough to send you over the edge.
Your body feels tense as your climax washes over you, "F-fuck—E-Eddie!"
Your legs are shaking more than ever, so much so that you're sure if Eddie wasn't holding you up, you would have fallen to the ground. Wave after wave that rolls through you, Eddie’s tongue is there to accompany it.
It’s too much. Everything’s overwhelming. You’re overstimulated, your brain is fuzzy, and your body is hot. You’re sure if this continues any longer, you’ll break. The sounds of the team outside seem to fade into the background for a moment.
"Goddamn Eddie, p-please.” You can barely hear your voice over your ragged breathing.
The rest of the team's voices echo through the station, you swear you can hear footsteps coming closer to the kitchen. You feel tears pricking at the corner of your eyes as he finally lets up.
He pulls away, wiping the back of his hand against his mouth, his face flushed and sweaty. You breathe heavily, leaning forward on the counter, your body still shuddering from the aftereffects of your orgasm.
You're about to try and fix your uniform, to make yourself look at least a little presentable when suddenly, you hear footsteps clambering up the loft stairs. You panic and start to scramble to pull your pants back up and as you manage to, Eddie swiftly slinks beside you so they don't suspect anything.
You see Buck’s head of curls as he clambers up the loft stairs, "You guys cooking?" he chirps.
Before you can open your mouth to speak, Eddie pipes up.
“Yep, figured that we’d go on and get a head start on dinner.” He says, leaning casually against the counter. Y’know, his tone is surprisingly calm for a man who had just had his head buried between your legs.
Buck smiles right back, seemingly clueless to what had been going on mere seconds before.
"Alright! Lemme know when it's ready, I'm starving."
He quickly turns back around and disappears, and you let yourself breathe again. You feel Eddie's hand fall to the small of your back.
"You did so well." He whispers in your ear, his voice low and gravely. "I'm proud of you."
You give him a weak smile, trying to keep your breathing under control, but it doesn't help that every nerve ending in your body is still on fire. Everything is still so sensitive, and you can't help but shiver at the feeling of his breath on your skin.
He turns you so you're facing him, and you practically collapse into his chest. Immediately, he wraps his arms around you, pulling you close to him. You bury your face into his shoulder, inhaling the intoxicating scent of his sweat and cologne.
"Y-you're a dick, sometimes.” You mutter, still trying to calm your breathing as he steadies himself, you look down at the front of his pants and then back up to him. "Do you want me to...?"
Catching your drift, Eddie's cheeks suddenly flush with a light pink dusting.
"I uh—I a-already..." He stutters for a moment, trying to find his words.
You raise an eyebrow at his reaction, and your lips pull into a sly smile.
"Really? I didn’t even touch you.” You tease him, your finger slowly moving down his chest.
He swallows, his Adam’s Apple bobbing in his throat as your hand slowly makes its way down his chest. He looks away, his cheeks still a dusted pink as a shiver goes through him.
"Yeah well,” He stutters, "Can you blame me?”
You can't help but giggle at his response, your face splitting into a grin as you look up at him. You reach up and pat him on the cheek.
"You're cute when you get all flustered."
His blush deepens at your touch, and he lets out a huff, trying to hold on to any shred of composure he has left.
“I am not flustered, I-I don’t get flustered.” He says defensively, finally meeting your gaze.
“Really? Cause you look pretty flustered to me.” You say smugly.
"Oh, shut up, cariño." he murmurs, leaning down to press a kiss to your forehead.
You give a soft hum, "Never, Eds. I'm gonna enjoy this for as long as I can."
"I'm gonna make you eat those words later, princesa."
You raise an eyebrow at him, fighting the shiver that runs down your spine at the nickname.
"Is that a promise?" You say, leaning your body a little closer to his.
He grins down at you, a cheeky look on his face, "It's a guarantee."
You’re hanging out with Buck on the couch on one of the rare days you both have the day off, keeping each other company and talking as the tv plays a documentary about the African Savanna that Buck has been wanting to watch in the background. You’ve been roommates with Buck for almost a year, and with Christopher gone to camp for a few weeks this summer, Eddie couldn’t handle the quiet at his house, so he decided to take the extra room at your place.
You’ve been hooking up with Buck for almost as long as you’ve lived with him, the first time being when you both came home drunk one night. One thing led to another and he had you spread open for him on the kitchen counter, screaming his name loud enough for the entire building to hear, you’re sure of it. You both enjoyed it so much that you both agreed to continue with your odd roommate/relationship situation, hooking up whenever one of you needed to blow off some steam. You both love each other, of course; you’re best friends, but you’ve never talked about your feelings for each other beyond sex, although it seems that neither of you would be opposed to furthering your relationship.
You’re listening to him talk about the migration patterns of spotted hyenas when Eddie comes back from his run, his breaths coming out in short pants and his skin covered in a thin layer of sweat. Your eyes immediately move to Eddie, not even hearing Buck’s words as your eyes study him. Your breath catches in your throat as your eyes train on his biceps, left completely uncovered by his sleeveless workout shirt, and you lick your lips subconsciously.
Eddie gives you both a small smile and a wave as he sees both sets of eyes trained on him, then walks to the fridge to get a drink. Your dazed smile doesn’t go unnoticed by Buck, however, and neither does the way your eyes follow Eddie wherever he moves. He’s seen Eddie looking at you with the same dazed expression when he thinks no one is looking. He smirks to himself, finally putting the pieces together that you both want each other. And he’s happy to set that up.
Once Eddie goes to the bathroom to take a quick shower, Buck turns to you with the same smirk still plastered on his face, then scoots closer to you on the couch.
“So, you still like our, uh, agreement, right?” he asks in a low voice. You furrow your eyebrows, nodding slowly. Where the hell is this coming from?
“Yeah, of course. Why? Do you?” you question, straightening up as you turn your body to face him. Your legs are crossed on the couch, and he moves to mirror your body, sitting cross legged in front of you as he places a hand on your knee.
“Yeah, of course. But,” he starts, looking towards the hallway, making sure Eddie is still in the bathroom. “How would you feel about Eddie joining the equation?”
Your eyes widen at his words, and you feel your cheeks grow hot. How the hell did he figure you out? It’s not like you flirt with him or anything, you keep it strictly friendly, even though you want to do what Buck is suggesting more than anything. You can’t help but let out a quiet surprised laugh, and you tilt your head to the side as you take in his curious, but weirdly devilish expression.
“You’re serious?” you as in disbelief, the smile dropping from your face. He nods, patting your knee twice before he leans back, leaning to the side with his arm on the back of the couch.
“I could talk to him, if you want. See if he’d want that.” he says nonchalantly. He’s seen the way Eddie looks at you, and if you weren’t looking at him the exact same way, too lost in your own head, you would see it too. But Buck has, and he’s determined to get all three of you together at least once.
“Okay.” you say in a soft voice, suddenly feeling a little embarrassed by the idea. Is this actually going to happen? Will Eddie even say yes? You’re not sure, and you know it’ll be extremely awkward if he says no, but Christopher is only at camp for a few more days, so you won’t have to avoid him for long if things don’t go your way.
Buck grins, then gets up from the couch, reaching out to grab your hand and pull you up. He mumbles for you to follow him as he drags you to your room, then goes right to your dresser, starting to root around your drawers.
“What the hell are you doing?” you whisper-yell, crossing your arms over your chest as you watch him. All he’s doing is messing up your folded laundry, and all you can think about is the hassle it’ll be later to refold everything. He smiles as he holds something up, then tosses it to you with a smirk.
“Put this on and wait here. I’ll call you in after I talk to him.” he tells you while you hold up what he threw to you. It’s one of your matching sets, Buck’s favourite, and your eyes widen as they dart back up to meet his gaze.
“We’re doing this now?” He nods, crossing his arms over his chest.
“No time like the present. He’ll love it. Get changed.” is all he says before he leaves the room, not even bothering to close the door on the way out. You sigh, but do as he says silently, trying to make out the muffled conversation you can hear faintly on the other side of the wall. Once you’re finished, you stand in front of the mirror, eyes tracing over your plush body as you turn and pose your body. It’s definitely Buck’s favourite for a reason; it shows off your curves, it goes amazing with your skin tone, and the bra makes your breasts pop out just slightly.
Eddie turns when he hears a knock on his bedroom door, turning just in time to see Buck entering the room. Buck’s eyes travel down his body, smirking as he sees he hasn’t changed yet; he’s still in a towel.
“What’s up, man?” Eddie asks, a little surprised at Buck’s presence. As close as they are, Buck rarely barges into his room like this, especially when he knows he just got out of the shower. Buck doesn’t waste any time with small talk, instead diving right into what’s taking over his mind.
“So, you’ve been staying here for a while. Is everything good?” he starts, crossing his arms over his chest as he leans against the door, his expression going neutral. Eddie raises a brow, his hand instinctively tightening on the towel around his waist. This seems like the beginning of a very awkward conversation; he thinks he’s about to get kicked out, although he can’t imagine why.
“Yeah, of course. It’s great hanging out all the time.” he says unsurely, eyes studying Buck’s expression, his stance, his breathing.
“What about her? You like living with her?” Buck asks nonchalantly. Eddie furrows his brows, frowning slightly.
“Haven’t had any complaints. She’s great.” he says, trying not to give away his true feelings. He knows your relationship with Buck is a little more than friendship; he’s seen the less than innocent touches when you pass each other, and he doesn’t want Buck to be upset with him or anything.
“Yeah? How great?” Buck asks, a smirk replacing his straight face. Eddie tilts his head to the side, confused. If he wasn’t smirking, he’d assume he is jealous, but now he’s not sure.
“What do you mean?” Buck shrugs, taking a step towards Eddie.
“Come on. I’ve seen the way you look at her.” Buck says, chuckling softly as he sees Eddie’s face drop. He didn’t think it was that obvious, and either way, he would never actually do anything about it; not while you’re with Buck, sort of.
“I don’t know what you’re-” is all Eddie can say before Buck cuts him off, raising his hand to silence him.
“She looks at you like that too. You know, I think she’d give you a chance. If you’re okay with sharing?” Buck says with a smirk, closing the distance between them and standing right in front of Eddie. His head looks like it’s about to explode, with surprise, or with lust, Buck’s not sure.
“Sharing?” Eddie asks in disbelief, crossing his arms over his chest as he processes what Buck is alluding to. He’d be lying if he said the idea isn’t tempting, but he’s never done anything like this before, especially not with his best friend.
“Yeah.” is all Buck says, knowing there’s nothing else to say. He’s either in or he’s out, and no further explanation will change his mind, but he hopes it’s a yes. He beams when he sees the slightest nod from Eddie, then turns and opens the door, calling your name. He turns back to Eddie as he hears you padding across the hall, then steps out of the way and puts his arm out, almost as if presenting you to Eddie as you walk into the room in nothing but a lace bra and panties.
“Hi.” you say sheepishly, your hands behind your back as you stand in the doorway. You instantly see the way Eddie’s body tenses, and he inhales a sharp breath as his eyes roam your figure, stopping on the way your tits pop out of your bra.
“Hi, baby. You wanna show Eddie a good time?” Buck asks you with a smile, ducking his head down to meet your gaze. You turn to face him with a small smile, nodding before you look back over at Eddie, not moving for a moment. You want to give him a moment to process, and to say no, if he wants to.
“Go on, baby. He said yes.” Buck urges you gently, putting a hand on the small of your back and giving you a light nudge towards Eddie. You walk up to Eddie slowly, tilting your head up to hold his gaze. Once you’re in front of him, you stand still for a moment, and when he doesn’t make a move away from you, you cup his cheeks with your hands, kissing him softly.
Eddie responds immediately, hands going to your wide hips and pulling you against him, groaning as your soft body makes contact with his slightly damp skin. Your hands travel down to his chest, as one of his moves up to cradle your jaw. He tilts your head up into the kiss, deepening it as you part your lips. He can feel himself getting hard beneath the towel, and he barely even remembers Buck’s watching you two as he pushes you harder against him.
“Why don’t you show him how good you are for me? Show him how good you are with that pretty little mouth.” you hear from behind you, and you break the kiss to look back at Buck. He smiles as he sees Eddie chasing your lips, and his eyes flicker between your puffy lips and Eddie’s as he lets out a satisfied hum.
You waste no time in turning back to Eddie and pulling his towel from his body. Once his towel is discarded you push him back until the backs of his legs hit the bed, and you urge him to lay back on the pillows. Once he’s where you want him, you crawl onto the bed, positioning yourself on all fours. You spit into your palm before you take his hard cock into your hand, pumping him a few times before lowering your head, wrapping your lips around just his leaking tip.
He lets out a sharp breath as your lips make contact with his length, and his eyes move up to Buck’s for a split second before they’re back on you, watching as you lick a firm strip up the underside of his cock. He doesn’t even have time to register Buck walking over to the bed when he glances at him, as his eyes are glued to your pretty lips as you slowly work your way down his length, keeping eye contact with him as you do so.
Once you take all of him into your mouth, trying not to gag as your nose brushes his pubic bone, you feel your panties being ripped down your legs. You hum in surprise, which makes Eddie groan as the vibrations shoot up his spine. He puts a hand on the back of your head as you begin to bob up and down on his impressive length, licking his lips as he looks over your body and to Buck, who’s kneeling behind you, eyes trained on your already dripping core.
You let out a soft whine as you feel Buck’s tongue lick a firm strip across your folds, jolting forward slightly as his tongue dips into your core. You try to focus on your movements on Eddie’s cock, but it’s difficult; Evan is definitely good at what he’s doing, and no matter how many times he’s done this to you, you don’t think you’ll ever get used to how good it feels.
Buck continues to lap at your cunt like a man starved, groaning as he squeezes your thick thighs between his fingertips. It’s almost hard enough to leave bruises, not that either of you mind. You can feel Eddie’s hand on the back of your head as you continue, keeping your eyes on him as you try to take all of him. You resort to using your hand on what you can’t reach with your mouth, trying to take him all into your mouth again every now and then.
“Being so good for him, baby. See Eddie? Isn’t she good?” Buck purrs, pulling back from your core just long enough to make eye contact with Eddie over your plush ass held up in the air. Eddie groans, eyes darting up to Buck’s, his hand still firmly placed on your head.
“God, she’s fucking incredible. So good for us, mi amor.” You moan at his words, speeding up your movements. You’re desperate to taste him, to feel his release in your mouth. You can feel yourself getting close too, but you know that edge in Buck’s voice all too well; you know that he won’t let you cum until Eddie does.
“I’m close, sweetheart. Don’t stop.” Eddie mumbles, fighting the urge to tilt his head back. He wants to burn this image in his brain; your mouth wrapped around him and your tits on display for him, he doesn’t want to look away. He thinks it’s the most attractive thing he’s ever seen.
You keep up your quick pace, humming around his cock, knowing he likes it. You feel him twitch, and you know he’s right on the edge, and you let out a loud, muffled whine as Buck inserts two fingers into your desperate hole, curling up towards the spot that makes you see stars.
Eddie sees the way your eyes roll back, and that’s all it takes for him to fall over the edge, shooting hot ropes of cum into your mouth and down your throat.
You pull back with a loud whine, swallowing his load quickly and sticking your tongue out to show him before your head drops, Buck’s mouth on your cunt becoming overwhelming. Your legs start to shake as Buck uses his tongue on your clit and curls his fingers against your g-spot, and a few moments later, you’re falling over the edge with a loud moan.
“Maybe next time she’ll let you find out how good she tastes.” Evan says in a low tone once he pulls away, his chin glistening with your release. You keep your head down for a moment, trying to catch your breath, and then you feel a sense of giddiness fill your body. You straighten up onto your knees, turning your upper body and grabbing Buck’s face to give him a rough kiss. You both moan as you feel a mix of you and Eddie’s releases on your tongues, and you kiss him with fervor, almost as if thanking him for suggesting this. Of course this is something you’ve thought about before, but you never thought you’d actually experience it.
You break away from the kiss and move towards Eddie again, giving him a small smirk before you straddle his lap, kissing him hard. His hands go to your thighs immediately, his cock already growing hard again as he feels your heat brush against him. You wrap your arms around his neck as you slip your tongue into his mouth, and behind you, Buck is palming himself through his jeans, groaning at the sight of you two.
As you continue to kiss Eddie, Buck moves around to the side of the bed, unhooking your bra and sliding it down your arms. You barely even break apart from Eddie as he does, moving your arms to let Buck work as you focus on Eddie’s lips on yours and his hands squeezing your thick thighs harshly.
Once your bra is off, you waste no time in raising your hips, breaking from the kiss to look down at Eddie with a raised brow. He nods as he licks his lips, looking down with hooded and grabbing his cock, lining it up to your entrance before you sink onto him with a soft whimper. You tilt your head back as you get used to his size, closing your eyes as you grip Eddie's shoulders.
After a moment, your eyes flutter open and you begin to move, looking down at Eddie as you both let out low moans.
You can feel Eddie stretching you out as you start to bounce on his lap, and his hands move to your hips to help guide your movements. His eyes trail down to the way your tits bounce, and the way your tummy jiggles, and he has to focus on not cumming too soon. You take this time to turn your upper body towards Buck, motioning for him to move closer to you.
Once he’s directly beside you, you make quick work of pulling his shirt off his body, and then pulling his pants and boxers down to his knees, allowing his leaking cock to spring free. Your mouth waters at the sight, and you waste no time in lowering your head down, taking him into your mouth. Your hips are still moving on Eddie as you bob up and down on Buck’s length, but Eddie has more or less taken over your movements, moving you exactly the way he wants as your focus shifts.
You’ve gotten to know what Buck likes over the last few months, so it doesn’t take much for his breath to quicken, coming out in ragged, uneven breaths. You hollow your cheeks as you move your head, then swirl your tongue around his tip before you take all of him in your mouth, gagging slightly as you feel him hitting the back of your throat.
“Does that feel good, baby? You like how Eddie’s cock feels?” Buck growls through low grunts, his thumb rubbing your cheek as he watches you. You nod as much as you can, humming softly as you continue to move on him, moaning as Eddie bucks his hips up against yours. This movement allows him to feel impossibly deeper, and you can feel that familiar feeling in your stomach growing as he moves your hips down against his.
“Yeah? Tell him, baby. Tell him how good it feels.” Buck purrs, grabbing the back of your neck and pulling your lips off of him with a soft pop. He misses the warmth of your mouth immediately, but he loves the sight of you bouncing on Eddie’s cock too much to pass up on this opportunity.
“Feels so good, Eds. You feel so good inside me.” you whimper softly, turning your upper body back towards Eddie, bouncing on him with increased fervor as you feel yourself nearing the edge.
“God, mi amor. Keep talking like that and I won’t last long.” he murmurs, eyes trailing down to your core, watching the way you sink onto him so perfectly. You moan, biting your lip as you continue to move, then after a moment you look back over at Evan, who’s fisting his cock quickly, eyes glued on your hips rolling against Eddie’s.
You lower your head back down, using your mouth and your hand on Buck as Eddie takes over the movements of your hips again. Both Eddie and Buck are now watching the way you take Buck, and Eddie bites his lip, trying not to fall over the edge at the sight of you being filled by both of them at the same time.
Before long, you’re all close to the edge, and Buck pulls you off of him again, then pulls you off of Eddie and lays you down on the bed. He has no problem sharing you with Eddie sometimes, but he feels oddly possessive about letting Eddie finish inside of you; that’s a privilege only he’s allowed to have.
“Such a pretty tummy. Would be a shame for it to go unloved.” Buck purrs, moving his hand along his cock again as he looks over at Eddie with a smirk. Eddie groans at the thought, and although he misses the feeling of your warm wet walls around him, he wants to see you painted in his cum almost as much. He moves to kneel on the bed in front of you as you sit up on your elbows, and your eyes dart between both of them as they fist their cocks, desperate to decorate your plush tummy with their seed.
Eddie moves his other hand down to your clit after a moment, still fucking his hand as he circles your clit with two of his fingers. You whimper softly, feeling the ball in your stomach forming again as you try to keep your eyes open and on the sight before you. Your quickened breaths and your high pitched whine as you finally fall over the edge sets both men to follow right after you, white hot cum covering your tummy and dripping down your thighs. They groan at the sight of their mixed releases covering your body, and Buck’s quick to lean down and kiss you softly, cupping one of your cheeks.
“You did so good for us, baby. So pretty.” he whispers against your lips, then leans back to look at Eddie.
“God, can we do that again?” Eddie says, and both you and Buck laugh softly at his words while you all try to catch your breath.
“Maybe in a little bit.” you say softly, looking up at Eddie with a twinkle in your eye. He chuckles quietly, shrugging before he leans down to capture your lips in a gentle kiss. As you kiss Eddie, Buck slips out of the room quietly to grab a damp cloth.
“I’ll wait.” Eddie murmurs to you once he pulls away, leaning back once Buck returns. He watches as Buck wipes off your tummy and thighs, then once you’re cleaned off, you sit up with a smile.
“I’m gonna go shower, if anyone wants to join.” you say in a teasing tone, giggling softly as you see both of them turn to look at each other with smirks.
Can you do a buck x reader where the reader and buck are married but she gets amnesia and only doesn't remember buck and their relationship. But it ends with fluff
where’s my mind?
pairing: Evan “Buck” Buckley x fem!reader
summary: you wake up in a hospital bed surrounded by your family and friends, but amnesia took away the memory of your husband, what’s Buck gonna do?
word count: 2,1k
author’s note: thanks to an anon for this request, I hope you all enjoy it, because I definitely had fun writing it 🫧 p.s. requests are open
“Yes baby, I will be home in 10 minutes, just had to stop at a gas station otherwise I wouldn’t make it.” — you say over the phone and sigh. Your day was long enough, of course it couldn’t end well, something had to make it a bit longer.
“Okay love, be safe.” — you hear Buck’s voice and smile. Who would have thought that after four years of dating – you can finally call this man your husband? The past three months of being married were so wonderful, you had everything you dreamed of. “I love you.”
“I love you too, see you soon!” — you smiled again and hung up the phone.
Well, this gas station definitely looks a bit shady, but it was the only one near and you really needed to get some gas.
It was 11 p.m., streets are getting emptier, and flashlights are the only source of seeing something in this darkness. You felt shivers down your spine and thought that it’s time to go home, you didn’t like this place.
Your hand reaches for the car door to get into the driver's seat. But this never happens. Instead, you feel a blow to your head so hard that the only thing you remember is falling to the ground and darkness. If someone got a reward for the most unfortunate end of the day, you would get it today.
Next thing you know, you wake up in a hospital and you try to properly open your eyes, but the light in the hospital is so bright that you squint for the first few minutes. You feel someone is sitting next to you and you turn your head in their direction. It was Maddie.
“Maddie? W-what happened?” — you finally speak and don’t recognize your voice. The voice is so hoarse, quiet and low.
“Oh (Y/N), you’re finally awake.” — Maddie said with a smile. “Don’t worry, you’re fine now, you got attacked at a gas station and had a concussion.” — she took your hand and squeezed it. “I’m gonna tell Buck you’re awake, he just left to buy some coffee. He will be so happy.” — one more smile from her and she left your room.
“Buck? Who’s that?” — you think to yourself and get confused. “Maybe it’s a doctor or something.”
A man runs into your room with a relieved look on his face. You assumed it was Buck. But you really can’t remember his face. Maybe it’s Maddie’s friend or a doctor she knows, she's a former nurse after all.
“Hi baby, I’m so glad you’re awake.” — he rushed to sit next to your bed, took your hand in his and placed a gentle kiss on it. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m sorry, sir, but do I know you? I can’t remember if I ever saw you.” — the confusion is written on your face, you furrowed your brows and looked at him.
But Buck just laughed and smiled at you. You always liked to call him “sir” to tease him. He had no idea why you did that, but he secretly liked it, it made you look cocky.
“I don’t know why you’re laughing, but I’m getting quite uncomfortable by my hand being kissed by a stranger. You better explain.” — you said that and pulled your hand out of his. Why does he think that he has some privilege to do that?
Then Buck realized. You don’t remember him. He felt like his world fell apart in one second. Everything they had been building for almost 5 years just disappeared. Your eyes were saying everything. There’s no love, affection and fondness in them. You didn’t look at him like he was the most important person in your life anymore.
“Maddie, can you explain? This man seems too stunned to speak.” — you said annoyingly, because no one gives any answers.
“(Y/N), I’m Buck, your husband.” — he said with so much pain that for a moment you thought that it’s you who’s acting stupid.
You couldn't lose your memory like that, could you? You remember everyone except your husband. Oh god, you're married, you probably have a house together, lots of plans for the future, but you don't remember anything.
Your head starts to hurt a lot from all the information that doesn't seem real. You look at Maddie and you see that tears are starting to form in her eyes. You see Hen standing outside the door of the room and talking to the doctor. The saddest look you've ever seen is on her face. Everyone remembers everything, why can't you remember?
The doctor comes into your room and gives you a little smile. This smile didn’t say "it's good that you woke up", this smile said "hang on, you have a lot of surprises ahead."
“So, Mr. and Mrs. Buckley, I have some news that I need to share. (Y/N) experienced a severe blow to the head, which led to dissociative amnesia, due to which she may forget something or someone specific in her life.” — so it’s true, you did forget your husband. How long have you two been together? How many good memories did you forget?
“What can we do?” — Buck said, pursing his lips. He took your hand again and squeezed it. This news shocked him, he wasn't ready for it, but he knows for sure that he is ready to do everything in his power to make you remember him.
“The best thing you can all do is put her in the environment where she has been for the last 5 years. Guide her slowly and carefully tell her the events she has forgotten. Memories can come in flashes and this is normal, it means that she remembers and after a while she will remember everything. But I must warn you that there is a chance that she will not remember anything.” — the doctor said and gave Buck a soft look. Unfortunately, he has to deal with many cases of amnesia and the hardest thing is to see the patient's family and know that they don't have the slightest idea what to do next. “Now, if you excuse me, I need to check on another patient.”
There is a chance that she will not remember anything. These words ring in Buck's head. What if she really doesn't remember anything? Would he have to win her love all over again? Would he have to propose to her again? Will they have to build everything again for another 5 years?
2 months later
The door opens. You came back from grocery shopping. Apparently, this is the house that you and Buck moved into after your wedding. Home sweet home, only you don't feel at home. You remember that you lived alone, there wasn't even a man on the horizon that you liked, turns out you're already married.
Buck is very sweet, he hasn't left your side for a second since you woke up. He showed you pictures of you together. Here you are at Bobby's birthday party, here you saw Jee for the first time, here you are at Chim and Maddie’s hospital wedding, here you are spending a free day at the beach. And you could remember those events, but you don't remember living them with Buck.
Yesterday Buck told you that you were supposed to fly to Europe together for the first time in 2 weeks. It's been your dream all your life and Buck was happy to make it a reality. He was happy to share memories with you that would keep you both warm in the future. But the trip will have to be canceled, because he doesn't want to overwhelm you.
“I know it’s a lot and you probably want to run away, but listen, I’m here if you need me. I know you don’t remember me, but I remember everything and my love will be enough for both of us for now.” — Buck put the bags on the floor and came over to you. He stopped in front of you and didn't know how to behave. He wanted to kiss you, but would it be too much? He wanted to hug you, but wouldn't that scare you off?
Seeing how he hesitated, you hugged him yourself. You hugged him to you as hard as you could. The thing is, you were very scared. But Buck instilled a sense of security, he was your safe place. You didn't remember him, but your body remembered exactly how to react to him. And you trusted that instinct.
So far, you have agreed to sleep in separate bedrooms. You didn't want to rush things, and he didn't want to push you. So when night fell, you said goodnight to each other and went to your rooms.
You lay down on the bed and put your head on the pillow, it smelled like Buck. His cologne, his shower gel, the whole room seemed to be filled with him. You looked at the bedside table and saw a photo of you together. So happy and beautiful, in the photo you were somewhere in the park.
“I promise I will remember you. For us.” — you said quietly to yourself and fell asleep.
It was a beautiful sunny day. You look at yourself in the mirror and you're wearing an amazing wedding dress. Your hair, makeup, jewelry — all this made you feel like a princess.
“Athena, I’m so nervous, I don't think I will remember my vows.” — you turned around to Athena while she was preparing your veil.
“(Y/N), you and Buck have been preparing for this wedding for six months, if something goes wrong, it will definitely be Chim that got into some shit again.” — she laughed and took your hand.
“Listen, don't memorize your vows, speak from the heart. Remember how he makes you feel, remember his every look and touch, remember how he looks at you. And don't forget to add his nickname at the end. What do you always call him?” — Athena looked into your eyes and smiled. She knew for sure that your vows would be perfect.
“Light of my life.”
You woke up and were breathing heavily. It was a flashback from your wedding. Of course, you always called him "light of my life." Because he saved you from the darkest stage of your life.
You had your favorite white tulips at the wedding. Buck wanted everyone to come in colorful outfits, but you insisted on a dress code. And the cake ended up being 5 times bigger than you expected, so at the end of the day you handed it out to each guest, so they could eat it at home.
You remembered. Panic began to take over your whole body. Or is it just your love for your husband has returned and your body is responding to it?
You lifted the blanket, got out of bed, and hurried to the room where Buck sleeps. But he wasn't sleeping, you saw the light in his room and opened the door.
“Buck…” — you whispered and felt tears on your cheeks.
“Hey. Hey, hey, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” — Buck saw how panicked you were and rushed to stand next to you. He put his hands on your shoulders and looked into your eyes. “Talk to me.”
“Light of my life.”
He froze. Did you remember? Or is he dreaming? He didn’t want to move to not scare the reality. He just wanted to stay in this moment.
“You don't like oranges, so we immediately told the pastry chef not to offer us cakes with oranges. You really want children, so on our second date we started choosing names for our children. When you were struck by lightning, you pretended to be a Flash for 3 months, and when I dyed my hair and didn't tell you about it, you started calling me because you didn't recognize me, even though I was standing next to you the whole time.” — you started rattling off the facts of your relationship quickly, as if you were afraid to forget, but you remembered everything.
You saw the tears in Buck's eyes and started crying even harder. You couldn't even imagine what he was going through these two months while you didn't remember anything.
“I knew you would remember.” — he said and had the biggest smile on his face. “C-can I kiss you?”
“Please.” — you said it and pulled him to you for a kiss. So desirable for both of you.
“Don’t cancel Europe, we need more memories.”
Buck just laughed, picked you up and carried you to the bed. It's going to be a long night.
Summary: When Eddie learns Maddie is having another baby, it leads to an argument within his relationship. Because when Maddie left after having Jee, it was (Y/n) Eddie and Buck who cared for her daughter in the aftermath.
Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A discontented groan left Eddie's lips when the sound of his alarm rung out through the air, jostling him from his dream.
It was early. He felt like he had gone to bed five minutes ago, but if his alarm was waking him up then he guessed he had slept longer than usual. Most of Eddie's recent shifts had been early, usually starting at five or six in the morning.
Today's shift was lined up to begin at nine which would feel like turning up in the afternoon compared to normal.
With a grunt, he twisted to the right and flopped onto his back, reaching his arm out to try and turn off his alarm. He had to get up, get Chris and the twins ready and take them all to school on his way to work.
His brows furrowed when he groggily opened his eyes and looked towards the other side of the bed. (Y/n) was awake; more specifically, she was sitting up in bed. He didn't expect her to wake up with him when his alarm went off, not when she didn't have to go into work today and early mornings weren't always her thing.
He reached his hand out and began to glide his hand up and down her thigh while he tried to wake himself up. It took Eddie a moment to clear his head enough to sit up and properly start to wake up and when he did, he looked over to his left. His eyes raked her up and down, taking in the way she was sat to see what she was up to.
She was sat up in bed with the covers strewn across the middle of the bed. One hand was pressing down into the mattress, presumably to help keep her balance and her other hand was pressed against her temple while her head was tilted forward.
"You okay, amor?"
He let go of her thigh to stretch his arms up above his head, straining to click his neck into place before he twisted to the side. His knees gently nudged hers and his hand came up to rest on the side of her neck, his thumb swiping across her jaw until she opened her eyes.
"What's up?" He murmured softly, leaning over to peck her cheek when (Y/n) leaned her cheek into his palm. She nuzzled into his touch, trying her best not to lean on Eddie too much in case she let all of her weight fall onto him and have him hold her weight up for her.
"I feel sick."
For a while now, she hadn't been able to sleep. All she could do was fidget and squirm and groan. She felt sick. She felt like she was starting to burn up, but it just seemed to be her imagination. She hadn't thrown up, she wasn't sweating and she wasn't about to collapse, she just felt horrid. (Y/n) had probably picked up a sickness bug from somewhere.
She twisted to the side so she could lean her cheek on Eddie's shoulder when his hand dropped from her face so he could loop his arm around her waist. His hand splayed out on her hip and he kissed the top of her head while his other hand moved round to brush across her stomach.
"They're still asleep." (Y/n) muttered softly, and she managed a smile as she tilted her head back to look up at Eddie.
She knew what he was doing. Now they were twenty-one weeks along, (Y/n) was staring to feel the baby move and kick and the boys were enamoured. But she liked the way Eddie continued to drag his fingertips along her stomach like he was either waiting for the baby to disagree or like he was soothing them to keep them asleep and content.
It felt a lot better this time around to just be having one baby to concern herself with. It had been a shock to her system four years ago when she got pregnant and ended up with twins for her first pregnancy. Double the kicks, double the discomfort and it meant doubling the check ups she needed and the scans and it increased Eddie and Evan's worries about her and the babies.
At least for this pregnancy, (Y/n) didn't feel weighed down or sick to her stomach every day. She only had one baby wriggling and kicking and messing with her system. It would be a lot easier once the baby was here too, she wouldn't have to do double the nappy changes or two feeds one straight after the other. It would lessen the cleaning and the washing as well with only one baby to contend with.
"Do you want me to get you a drink and some meds?" Eddie peppered a few kisses up and down her neck and shoulder while his hand rubbed soothing circles across her stomach to try and calm her system.
"Please… I may as well get up with you though." (Y/n) found the will to pull away from Eddie's embrace, but not before he tilted her head in his direction to steal a kiss.
She wasn't going to be going back to sleep anytime soon, (Y/n) may as well get up along with Eddie and Chris and help get the twins ready. At least she didn't have to go to work today, it was her day off and Evan would be home soon. She could spend the day with him before they got the kids from school and waited for Eddie's shift to finish later on tonight.
When Eddie climbed up off the bed and held his hands out towards (Y/n), she smiled softly and let him pull her up to her feet. His hands moved down to hold her hips and he attached his lips to the top of her head, waiting patiently for (Y/n) to move first so he knew she was alright.
She could feel Eddie's arm staying secure around her waist as he followed her out their bedroom and down the hall. Once they reached Chris's room, Eddie knocked on the door and nudged it open, muttering a groggy "Time to get up bud." in the process.
He knew Chris had heard him because of the grunt he heard and he knew in five minutes Chris would drag himself out of bed and get dressed.
(Y/n) could feel her head spinning and she was glad Eddie was behind her because her knees started to shake. She still felt sick and her head was throbbing like she was being hit with a hammer. She tried to reach out for the door to the twins bedroom but Eddie's hand enveloped around hers and he attached his lips to the back of her head.
"Go sit down amor. I'll get the girls sorted and find you some painkillers."
If she wasn't well Eddie would rather her sit down and take it easy for a while. He knew Evan would be home soon so he could look after her and make sure she was alright so Eddie could go to work without having to worry.
His hands moved to her shoulders and he kissed the back of her head while he followed her into the living room to make sure she sat down and that she was alright in there.
His lips pursed as he watched (Y/n) flop down on the sofa and curl into the cushion. She brought her knees up until they were pressing into her bump and one arm flopped over the cushion while her other hand started to rub circles around her stomach.
"Won't be long," He mused against her temple before he kissed her cheek, then the tip of her nose and finally her lips when she tilted her head up, chasing after his lips.
Eddie headed into the kitchen to find what he needed before he headed back into the lounge.
He set down a glass of water on the coffee table and some painkillers while he crouched down in front of the sofa. He took the time to reach his hand out and card his fingers through her hair while he perched his chin on his arm that rested on the edge of the sofa.
"You sure you're okay?"
"I feel a bit better."
"Hm, well Buck will be home in a bit so make sure if you need anything, you tell him. And I'm sure he said Maddie and Chim are gonna come by later."
Both men knew what (Y/n) could be like. They knew she would rather hide things from them and suffer in silence than ask them for help or admit when she didn't feel her best and needed taking care of.
All three of them were much the same in that respect. Eddie was used to being the one people relied on, the one who looked after everyone else. So the first time he got properly sick after getting into a relationship with Evan and (Y/n), he hadn't wanted them to take care of him. And Evan was used to looking after people, all his relationships had been one-sided so being loved and cared for wasn't normal for him either.
They were all learning to change those dynamics and accept love and help from each other.
***
"Where is everyone?" Eddie peered his head round the dining room door before he continued and headed into the kitchen.
He had come home and found the house eerily quiet. No one in the living room with a movie blaring out or books and games scattered on the carpet. No one doing arts or crafts in the dining room. No noise coming from the hallway to signal that the kids were in their rooms, and there was no one dancing about in the kitchen with the radio on.
So far, the only family member Eddie had found was his boyfriend who seemed to be in the middle of tidying up the kitchen.
A grin broke out on Evan's face when he turned around to see that Eddie had come home. He swung the tea towel over his shoulder and walked over towards Eddie. One hand cupped the side of his face so he could reel him in for a sweet kiss.
"In bed." Evan whispered each word against Eddie's lips while his thumb brushed across his jaw like he was smoothing out the stubble beginning to grow.
"What, all of them?" Eddie's head tilted to the right before he turned back when Evan stole another kiss while he had the chance.
It wasn't even tea time yet. Why was everyone in bed?
"Yep," Evan popped the 'p' while he finally broke away from Eddie and leaned his left hip against the kitchen island. "(Y/n) went for a lie down, Chris followed her to watch tv in bed with her. And when the girls finished baking they went for a power nap, although I'm pretty sure all of them are watching a Disney movie now."
Once Maddie and Chimney had come and gone, (Y/n) had retired to watch tv in bed. She still didn't feel great, she was coming down with a cold and she looked run down.
When she went to bed, Chris sheepishly asked if he could watch tv with her because he was tired from school and wanted to relax.
The twins had a bit of energy after nursery so they had baked some cupcakes with Evan, but the pair of them had become easily tired after that. Rather than putting them in their room, Evan settled them with (Y/n) because he knew they would sleep for longer with her and they would settle for a movie once they woke up.
He was sure he could hear the theme song from Toy Story blaring down the hallway every now and then while he decided to clean up before tea.
A quiet "Oh," left Eddie's lips and he nodded while he leaned his hand on the counter and watched Evan clean the flour from the worktops.
"Did Maddie and Chim stop by after all?"
"Yeah, with good news." The grin that lit up Evan's face made Eddie smile quizzically and he tilted his head to one side, eager to know what he had missed.
Eddie knew Evan didn't like it when one of them was working when friends or family came round. He didn't like any of them missing out on 'family moments' as he called them and Eddie understood. He didn't particularly like it either, but he had to work today. He had just been glad that he only had a short eight hour shift as opposed to the usual twelve or sometimes twenty-four hour shifts they pulled at the station.
"What news is that?" Eddie swiped the tea towel from Evan's shoulder and moved over to the sink so he could dry the dishes while he waited to be told what he had missed.
If it was some family drama, Evan would have said he had missed 'the gossip' because as much as Evan hated arguments, he loved getting the gossip. And Maddie was a reliable source. She gave them information on just about anybody and she told them a lot of the things she heard down at dispatch.
"Maddie's pregnant, they're having a baby too."
Evan had been ecstatic when Maddie told him and (Y/n) earlier this afternoon while the kids had all been at school.
Maddie had been pregnant with Jee just as (Y/n) had been about to give birth to the twins. And now (Y/n) was halfway through this pregnancy, Maddie was having another baby. Their timing seemed to be almost level, Maddie and Chimney were just a few months behind them again just like last time.
Evan loved the fact that their kids would be close in age. The twins got along great with Jee, she was like another sibling to them and their next kids would hopefully be close too.
There was a nine year gap between Evan and Maddie which had set them a little out of balance. It made Maddie become Evan's substitute parent rather than his sister, especially because she had helped to raise him. Evan didn't want any of his kids having that relationship. He wanted them to bond like other siblings and be close, he didn't want them to have to raise each other like him and Maddie.
When he didn't hear a response, Evan glanced over his shoulder, but Eddie had his back to him. Eddie was piling up the plates ready to load them back into the cupboard.
The little hum Eddie let out and the nod of his head wasn't very encouraging and it wiped the smile off Evan's face completely.
This was good news. This was an extension of their family, this was their close friends expanding their family and showing how happy they were together. Why wasn't Eddie delighted and smiling and wanting to celebrate this moment?
"We'll have two more babies in the family," Evan moved his left hand in a circular motion like he was trying to coax a response out of Eddie who finally turned to face him. But the way Eddie lifted his chin and gave a very placid smile didn't make Evan feel any better. He was practically shrugging off this news like he had said Maddie got a promotion rather than getting pregnant.
"That's good." Eddie cleared his throat and put the plates away before he started on the cutlery.
With a sigh, Evan dropped his shoulders and leaned one hand on the counter while his other hand moved to his hip. He leaned to the right, cocking his left hip out while he looked over a this boyfriend with a somewhat deflated expression.
Evan liked to celebrate news and he liked it when both his partners were as enthusiastic as him about good news like this or things he was excited about. And usually, he didn't have to worry about either Eddie or (Y/n) not reacting. They were always so understanding and bright and eager with him. Not barely coherent like this.
"What's wrong, aren't you happy for them?" He couldn't quite keep the hurt out of his voice, but he was glad when Eddie instantly shot him a look and fired back.
"Of course I am."
"You don't look it, Eddie. What's that face for?" He could read Eddie like a book. He knew that little shrug and the way his lips would form that thin line meant he wasn't so thrilled. He also knew that Eddie would curl his upper lip and bite his lower lip when he was trying not to say something he shouldn't or when he didn't agree with something.
Eddie shook his head and started to drop the knives and forks into the right places in the drawer, but he tried to keep his body facing Evan. He didn't want to fully turn his back on Evan and have his boyfriend think he was angry or trying to start a fight because he wasn't. Eddie really didn't want to start anything today.
"Nothing, it's great, okay."
"Eddie. I know something's gotten to you so just talk to me, please."
A deep breath stuttered past Eddie's lips when Evan's fingers delicately curled around his wrist and he tugged him away from the sink to capture his full attention. He watched the way Evan leaned closer and pecked his cheek while he pressed up against him so their chests were glued together and Evan was towering that little bit taller than him.
He wanted Eddie to open up. He didn't want him to bottle up his feelings and feel like he couldn't talk to Evan about anything. This was about family, Evan wasn't just going to turn around and ignore it when something was clearly bugging his partner.
"Is she going to be able to cope with another baby? If she suffers with postpartum depression again, will Maddie let any of us help? That's what's on my mind Buck, that's what's worrying me."
Each word was calculated and careful because Eddie didn't want to word it the wrong way and sound like a cruel bastard or like he was trying to have a go at Maddie or her integrity, that wasn't his intention. But he couldn't help but be worried about this.
Eddie had been there last time. He had been there for the aftermath. He had seen how broken Chimney was and how worried Evan had been about where his sister had gone because she didn't tell them. They had no idea whether she was okay or safe or not until she rang Evan once, weeks later.
And it was Eddie, (Y/n) and Evan who were left to look after Jee while Chimney juggled going to work and trying to find Maddie and bring her home. They were the ones who took Jee into their home for months and brought her up like they had triplets instead of twins. She became a foster child to them.
Tension rose in Evan's chest as apprehension flooded his veins and made his breathing become laboured.
He didn't want this conversation. He didn't want Eddie thinking like this. It wasn't right; they didn't need to be talking like this when it wasn't set in stone that Maddie might suffer with that condition a second time.
"She might not suffer with that again and if she does, we'll all be here for her-"
"That's not what I'm asking. I'm asking if she will let us, Buck. She had everyone around her last time and she left-"
"Hey, she had every reason to leave. She wasn't well Eddie and you know it."
Eddie hated the way Evan tilted his head at that angle and how his chest tensed and bubbled up like he was transforming into a different figure right before Eddie's eyes.
"Whatever."
Eddie clenched his hands into fists and turned his back on his boyfriend before he said something he shouldn't. If they were going to talk about this then Eddie wanted to talk, not argue. And he hated it when Evan cut him off and wouldn't let him finish. He got so defensive that he didn't even let Eddie explain, he stopped him because he didn't want to hear what Eddie had to say. But that wasn't how this worked.
He tried to carry on drying the pots but his hands were starting to shake too much so he tossed the tea towel and tried to leave the kitchen. It didn't work very well when Evan sidestepped into his path and stood in front of him like a boulder that wouldn't be moved.
"No, no it's not whatever. She's my sister, she's my family so if you have a problem with her, you tell me right now." The dark tone in Evan's voice made Eddie want to scream. He only liked that voice when Evan used it in the bedroom.
Getting snarky with Eddie right now wasn't going to do him any favours because Eddie was going to get just as riled up and upset as Evan.
But if Eddie had a problem with Maddie or this situation, Evan wanted to hear it and he wanted to air this problem out now. She was his big sister, she was like a mum to Evan and she was part of his world. Evan hated any of his family not getting along or being at odds with each other and it hurt worse to know his boyfriend had a problem with the person who raised him.
He watched the way Eddie took a step back and debated walking the other way around the kitchen to get out of the room, but he seemed to scrap that idea pretty quickly.
His shoulders rose up and his hands clenched into fists at his sides while his chin lifted almost defiantly so he could look up at Evan and square up to him so they were level.
"Alright. I get she's your sister, I know you love her, me and (Y/n) love her like a sister too. But you can't admit that Maddie was in the wrong with how she dealt with her depression. You and Chimney won't accept the possibility that her actions were unjustified and she hurt us all. If they want another baby that's great, really, but I'm not picking up the slack a second time, I'm telling you now."
The way Eddie pointed his finger right at Evan's chest near his collar bone made Evan's eyes go wild. Those deep blue iris's were swallowed up by dark pupils that expanded to the max. And Evan's lips pressed into a very thick pout as the veins in his neck started to throb and press up against his skin.
He did not just point a finger at him. He did not just make a jibe at Evan and his sister like that.
"Excuse me?" The guttural sound of Evan's voice almost made Eddie's knees go weak, if it weren't for the desperate need within him to get Evan to listen to him. For once.
Where Maddie was concerned, Evan wore blinkers. He saw only what he needed and wanted to see and if anyone tried to say one alternative word about her, Evan shut them down immediately. But he couldn't do that to Eddie or even to (Y/n). He couldn't shut his partners down, he had to hear them out and Evan was the one who demanded to have this conversation. He couldn't back out now when this was his choice, his demand.
"Buck, she could have told Chim or us that she needed a break, she could have told us she needed to go. We would of helped her, we would of come up with a plan or something, but no, she walked out on her own."
Everyone knew Chimney would have made her stay, he would have coaxed Maddie into staying in LA and maybe that would have worked. Maybe she could have gotten help here and stayed with everyone. But if she had been so adamant about leaving, she could have come to them. Evan would of helped her sort things out and prepare to leave to look after herself.
Eddie and (Y/n) would of supported her and made sure to help her and get her settled somewhere else. They would of found her a place to get help. She didn't have to run off without telling anyone and she didn't have to cut all contact with them and frighten them like she did.
Eddie could understand Maddie wasn't in the right frame of mind. But she had thought enough to make a video to explain to Chimney. She had been coherent enough to drop Jee off with (Y/n) and pack her things when no one was around and planned a place to go.
"She was sick! She was suicidal Eddie, she was frightened of hurting her baby and she knew she had to leave to look after herself. What if it had been (Y/n) in that position?"
Evan dreaded to think what would happen if (Y/n) had gotten into such a state of depression after having the twins that she felt like that. He would break if (Y/n) had been suicidal and tried to take her life the same as Maddie. And Evan would lose his heart if (Y/n) had left. He wasn't sure he would of helped (Y/n) leave if she needed to, but with Maddie it was different.
She had to go. She was so used to looking after herself and Evan, she was used to doing things by herself and taking care of things on her own. Asking for help wasn't what Maddie was used to, she was the one giving help, not receiving.
"No, we're not doing the what ifs." Eddie shook his head and pointed his hand again before he clasped both hands behind his head.
He deadlocked his fingers together at the back of his head and stuck his elbows out at the sides as he tried to take a deep breath. And when Evan moved closer, Eddie stepped back. He knew exactly how this conversation was going to go, but he didn't care. It needed to be said.
"Maddie came to our home, dumped Jee with (Y/n) and then left. Without explanation. Without a sorry or a word at all. We would of helped her, Chim might have stopped her but we wouldn't. (Y/n) was sick too! We had eight-month old twins and a sick girlfriend and Maddie left her kid with us. And you forgave her straight away. Maybe you can forgive and forget Buck, but I can't."
It hurt.
It hurt Eddie so much that Maddie had been forgiven. It took Eddie a long time to get that sibling-relationship back with Maddie because whenever he looked at her or Jee, he felt betrayal. He felt angry. He wanted to tell her how wrong she had been and how selfish she was for doing what she did, but Eddie could never do that.
He could never hurt Maddie like that because he cared too much, and he would never say those things to her directly and cause Evan that pain either. Because Evan would stick up for her and he too would feel betrayed. So Eddie kept it all bottled up.
"Eddie, she needed help. And if history repeated itself today, I'd understand her reasons again and again. She wasn't in her right mind and she did the right thing by leaving Jee with us rather than telling Chim and having him convince her to stay. There's three of us in this relationship, three people to help look after Jee-"
"She's not our responsibility! (Y/n) was struggling but she looked after Jee every fucking day. That little girl practically lived with us for five months. She cried when Maddie came back and she went back home with her and Chim. When she came to stay with us we ended up with triplets and you know it."
Eddie backed up into the counter and leaned his hands behind him to grip the edge and balance himself.
Jee had been with them for months. While Chimney tried to work, (Y/n) had Jee and the newborn practically moved in with them. Then when Chimney went in search of Maddie, Jee stayed with them again.
By the time the couple came home, Jee was already settled into a routine and a safe home with her uncles and her aunt. She didn't want to go home. She thought this was her home. When she came to stay with them, it felt like they had gone from twins to triplets with Chris and three little girls to look after, all similar in age. The twins were only a few months older than Jee.
Eddie still remembered how Jee cried when she left. That little toddler, reaching out for (Y/n) and screaming when she was taken away in the car.
He remembered that pain, and he remembered exactly how it broke (Y/n)'s heart. She had become attached to her niece. She had loved and cared for her every day for almost half a year, and then Jee was suddenly torn from her arms and taken back to her true home.
There was no way they were doing that again. Eddie wouldn't put his family through that heartache of looking after another baby and probably Jee too if Maddie started to become ill.
If she was sick or had depression or anything went wrong this time, it would be down to Chimney to sort it. Not Eddie's family.
"That's not fair." Evan's broken voice made tears well up in Eddie's eyes and he couldn't look at his boyfriend any longer without bursting into tears.
Both Evan's hands wavered at his sides as he dithered on whether to grab his hips or wave his hands in front of him or point the finger at Eddie like he had done a moment ago.
It wasn't fair to justify things like that. Evan would rather their niece come and stay with them than risk his sister struggling and taking her own life. And he would rather have Jee safe and settled with them than on the road with Chimney while he tried to find Maddie and bring her back home.
No part of this situation had been easy or straight forward, but it couldn't all be blamed on Maddie.
"What would you rather her do? She tried to kill herself Eddie."
The tears running down Evan's face made Eddie shake and he tipped his own head back and smothered his mouth with his hand so he didn't start to do the same.
"I- I would rather her tell us how she felt and let us get her help than leave the mess at our door like that."
Surely, Maddie could see that telling them what she was doing and asking for help would have been a far better choice. No one would have shamed her for how she felt. She had seen Evan through all his meltdowns and breakdowns growing up. She had witnessed (Y/n) in a few bad states. She had seen the aftermath of Eddie's breakdown and how he coped through that.
Did she think they would judge her? Did she think they wouldn't mind being given their niece out of the blue and left to wonder if she was dead or alive?
Moving both hands to his face, Eddie ran them up and down to try and stimulate his nerves and clear the tears from his eyes. He tried to calm himself down and gather some sense of composure so he could carry on this conversation that was heading south very quickly.
"Buck, we have three kids and another on the way. I can't come home to find (Y/n) on the verge of passing out with a bundle of kids to look after. Okay? I don't want Maddie to get caught up and afraid and drop another child on us because she realised a second too late that she can't cope."
When Maddie had her breakdown and left Jee with them, (Y/n) hadn't been well. She had a virus and was just getting over sepsis. She could barely take care of Chris and the twins. She had been extremely sick that day and when Eddie came home, he found (Y/n) in a bad state and his niece and all her things suddenly dumped in the living room.
They were having another baby themselves. What would happen if (Y/n) was home with all four kids and suddenly she had to take care of Jee and another newborn? They couldn't handle six kids in the house.
They couldn't take on Jee and another baby as responsibility if Maddie started to suffer again. Eddie needed to know that if Maddie needed help or she was suffering, that she would tell them and get help instead of running away from her family and responsibilities again.
"And I think my sister deserves the benefit of the doubt. How cruel would it be to start pretending that she can't cope or asking every five minutes if she's okay? We can't treat her like that, and she knows if she needs help she can tell us. She will."
Evan wouldn't do that. He wouldn't become one of those people.
He would not patronise his sister by constantly checking in to see if she was okay. He wouldn't hound her and ask if she was coping, if she was starting to feel under pressure or feel sick. Evan wasn't willing to become a hovering family member who was waiting, teethering on the edge expecting Maddie to fail.
If they all expected her to have a breakdown or suffer then it could push her into that state and that wasn't fair. No one deserved to be treated like that.
Maddie deserved to be treated just like she had been when she had Jee. Like any other, normal pregnant woman and then when she had the new baby, no one needed to wrap her in cotton wool. She needed to be treated the same way (Y/n) would be treated. With love and respect.
Eddie pushed off the counter and took a few daring steps closer to his boyfriend, now that they both seemed to have simmered down somewhat.
But before Eddie could say anything else, both their heads turned when they head footsteps.
For a moment, Eddie's heart jumped into his throat at the thought of it being Chris coming in. He knew Chris hated if any of them argued, it set him off into a meltdown. And if the girls heard they would start panicking or run over and cling to one of their parents to make them stop arguing.
But both men felt relieved when they realised it was (Y/n).
She was rubbing her hand across her temple in a way that indicated she still had a headache and didn't feel well. She could barely keep her eyes open and the grimace on her face told both her boys that she was coming down with some sort of illness.
She wandered into the kitchen barefoot which sent shivers running throughout her system when she stepped onto the cold tiled floor.
The bedroom felt as warm as the oven compared to the rest of the house and (Y/n) suddenly felt cold wearing only one of the boys lounge shirts and a pair of sleep shorts.
Her attire made both of them blank for a few moments as they forgot what they had been trying to say- and arguing about- when they focused on their girlfriend and what she was wearing. But (Y/n)'s confused frown and the way she inclined her head to one side brought them back to the moment.
"Why can I hear raised voices? What's going on?" (Y/n) folded both her arms on top of her bump and leaned her hips back against the kitchen island so she was facing both of them.
The way she rose a brow and kept her lips in a thin line told them she wasn't happy they were arguing about something. Especially when they hadn't told her before now that something was wrong and why they were in a mood with each other. Not to mention that Chris and the girls could hear them arguing, they couldn't make out what was being said but they knew the tone of their dad's voices and knew both of them weren't happy.
"Well?"
Eddie sighed and tipped his head forward before he looked back across at (Y/n). His hands fell to his hips and one knee jutted forward as he tried to think how to explain.
"Buck told me about Maddie. I'm as concerned for her as I am happy."
"Really?" Evan deadpanned with narrowed eyes and his arms folded over his chest in the same manner as (Y/n). He hated the way Eddie side-eyed him and grutned.
"Buck for God's sake I don't want to argue. I'm not saying they shouldn't have a kid, they're great parents I'm not judging. I just want Maddie to… to be prepared, I guess."
The way Eddie looked across at (Y/n) made her sink her teeth down into her lower lip and coil her arms tighter around her waist. She knew he was looking for validation and for her to agree with him and she didn't want to put herself in the middle of the boys when they were arguing. She didn't want to take sides or make this worse.
This was a tricky situation and a very hard thing to have a conversation about. Clearly both of them had been taking things the wrong way which had led to an argument.
"Don't tell me you think the same as Eddie, please. You saw how worried Maddie was to tell us today. She deserves a family and she deserves respect from us. We can't act like she's broken or worry all the time that she's gonna get ill again."
Evan reached his hand out and gripped (Y/n)'s arm as he moved to stand beside her. He couldn't take standing at odds with both of them and when (Y/n) didn't pull away from him, he looped his arm around her waist instead and leaned into her side.
"I know, if I was in her place I would hate to have people tread like that around me." Understanding flooded (Y/n)'s voice as she tilted her head back to look up at Evan.
She could see how horrid that would be for Maddie if people started to treat her like a broken doll or as if she were a ticking time bomb, set to go off at any moment. And if people expected her to fail or to run away a second time, it would make her feel like a failure before she'd even started and that wasn't fair or respectful towards her.
"I didn't want to cause a row, but I'm worried, okay?" Eddie moved his hands to his sides and dropped his shoulders.
He didn't want to row anymore, he just wanted to diffuse the situation and sit down with their family and see the kids. He didn't come home begging for a fight and he didn't expect to have an argument with Evan, he was sorry if he had started this.
"Can we all just be happy for them? It won't be the same as with Jee, it won't." The determination in Evan's voice was pleading yet loving at the same time and Eddie nodded.
But when Eddie looked across at (Y/n) to see why she wasn't saying anything, his heart picked up speed.
"Hey, hey, why the tears mi amor?"
Eddie moved to stand in front of (Y/n) and gently cupped her face in his hands and tilted her head back so she was looking up at him. His thumbs swiped across her cheekbones, collecting her tears to try and clean them away.
He could feel her trembling even as Evan shifted to let her back lean into his chest so he could curl his hands around her hips and press his lips to the back of her head.
Both men shared a look as the same worry popped into their mind. (Y/n) hadn't been feeling well today, was she suddenly feeling worse? Was there something wrong with the baby? But Evan couldn't feel her trembling and she wasn't creasing over with pains or saying she felt sick or she was in agony. So it couldn't really be the sickness she felt that was making her cry.
"I can't- if Maddie needs help again, I can't do what we did before, Evan. I can't raise Jee or another baby for months and then… then hand them over once Maddie's better. You don't know how much that hurt."
(Y/n) moved her hands to cup Eddie's wrists and she tried to look up behind her to look at Evan.
She understood. She knew where he was coming from and she wasn't going to hover around Maddie or make her feel incompetent. But if Maddie struggled again, (Y/n) agreed with Eddie, she had to let them help or find some proper help. (Y/n) couldn't take in Jee or a new baby and care for them the way they did last time.
"Baby, it hurt us too when she left-"
"You know when Maddie asked if we wanted Jee for the weekend, and I kept saying no?" Her breaths shuddered and she leaned her cheek into Eddie's hand to try and rid the few tears she was still shedding.
Both of them nodded and shared a look. They knew what she was talking about. When Jee was a toddler, after being back home for a while, Maddie asked if they wanted Jee over for a sleepover, to see Chris and the twins. (Y/n) didn't exactly explain to the boys while she kept saying no. They knew she wasn't telling the whole truth when she said she was busy or not feeling up to having another kid running round the house since they already had three.
Most of the time, the twins ended up going over to Maddie and Jee for a sleep over. It took a while until (Y/n) finally agreed and Jee started staying over with them every now and then, and Eddie and Evan never probed why. They suspected that maybe having Chris and two toddlers was hard enough without looking after Jee too.
"I said no, because Jee started to call me mummy, and- and I couldn't tell Maddie that. I couldn't hurt her like that. We raised her, and that confused her when she had to go home. I can't do that again."
Tears streaked down (Y/n)'s face and she started to tremble when she felt how tense Evan was behind her and how his hands tightened around her hips so much he was starting to bruise her skin. And when she looked up at Eddie, she saw the devastation in his eyes.
She tilted her head back when she felt Evan move. He didn't let go of her or move very far, but he tilted his head back like he was staring up at the ceiling and (Y/n) saw the tears trickling down his face as he tried not to burst into tears.
She hadn't told them that before.
(Y/n) couldn't tell them. She knew if she told Eddie, he would get angry. He would be furious that poor Jee had become so attached to living with them that she thought she was one of their kids. He had never argued Jee living with them, Eddie always agreed she needed a stable home and they could care for her, but it had clearly been for too long and at such a vital time in her life.
If they cared for her now, while she was three, she would have more comprehension. She would know she was staying with her aunt and uncles. But being so young and impressionable when she stayed with them made her confused.
And (Y/n) knew if she told Evan he would break down. He loved Jee almost like she was one of their girls and he felt he had to look after and protect her while Maddie had been unwell and Chimney was desperately trying to help her and bring her home.
"Oh baby," Eddie continued to brush his thumbs across (Y/n)'s face while he leaned closer until he could press his wet lips to her temple.
That made sense, now. Both men could see why (Y/n) denied Jee stopping over. She wanted Jee to have more stability and she didn't want to risk breaking her own heart if Jee accidentally called her 'mum' again.
And how could (Y/n) tell Maddie that? How could she explain that she couldn't care for her niece too often because she started to believe (Y/n) was her mum? That would completely crush Maddie's heart and it could have sent her into a relapse of depression or into another breakdown.
It would have complicated things between them all and (Y/n) couldn't risk doing that.
"That won't happen again. I won't let things get that bad, I swear, I swear to both of you that it won't be like that."
Evan let go of (Y/n)'s hip so he could stretch his arm out and grip Eddie's bicep and reel him in closer. He kissed the back of (Y/n)'s head again and again before leaning over to peck Eddie's temple. He tried to hold them both as close as he could until (Y/n) was safely encased between them and he had both of them in his arms.
He wouldn't let anything like that happen again. He would try and make sure Maddie opened up to them if she needed to. He would keep an eye on her. If she needed help, Evan would make sure she got help, they all would.
And Evan wouldn't let the same situation happen again. They wouldn't have to take Jee and or a new baby into their home and care for them. They wouldn't get caught up in something like that again.
Maddie and Chimney would have their baby, and Evan, (Y/n) and Eddie would have theirs.

The idea was good, the execution not so much
Established Buddie x Reader, ft our fave Diaz Chris. You and Chris plan a surprise for the boys, it doesn't quite go to plan.
The house was quiet when Eddie and Buck arrived home from a 24 hour shift. Usually when they finished at a reasonable hour they came home to hustle and bustle. You and Chris generally had music playing as you cooked up a storm throughout the kitchen.
Instead it was almost eerie silent in their house, in fact if it wasn’t for your car parked in the driveway they’d assume no one was home.
Buck shrugged at Eddie as they made the way down the hallway, peering in doors as they passed. It wasn't till they opened the door to the living room that they found any signs of life. Twinkling fairy lights were hung across the walls, basking the room in a light golden glow. Soft instrumental music was playing gently from the speaker and the table was set for four.
"What's going on?" Eddie whispered to his partner, Buck for his part looking just as bewildered. "Where are they?"
Buck shook his head in confusion, making his way into the living room. He spotted you and Chris pretty quickly, both sunk into the sofa fast asleep. Eddie followed him over and both men couldn't help the grin when they saw their partner and son, clearly accidentally napping while waiting for the boys to come home.
"Hi mijo," Eddie whispered, gently pulling Chris from your embrace and into his arms. "Dad! Bucky! You're home," He whispered wiping the sleep from his eyes.
"Mom and I were supposed to surprise you, we didn't mean to fall asleep,"
"We can see that superman." Buck whispered, "What's the big surprise?"
"Ay dios mio," Eddie suddenly exclaimed, staring down at Chris in shock.
"What Eds?" Buck questioned.
"Look at Chris' shirt Ev,"
Chris grinned stretching out so Buck could read it properly. There sprawled across his tiny chest were the words 'BEST BIG BROTHER'.
"Oh my god," Buck gasped, mouth opening and closing but no other words coming out.
"Surprise," You whispered nervously, having woken up from your nap to Eddie's shout of shock. Both boys whipped around to face you, as you grinned sheepishly.
"Baby, is this true? It's not a prank right?" Buck whispered, placing his hand across your stomach like he already expected a big bump to be there.
"It is, I found out yesterday. Chris and I had a big plan to tell you both, there's even a bun sitting in the oven," When Evan got a look of concern on his face you followed up with "the oven is turned off, I promise."
"You're sure? About being pregnant I mean."
"Positive, literally." Handing over multiple tests to each of the boys, all with the same result. "Chris was actually the one who mentioned it, I may be slightly bias but I think our son is a genius,"
"So Amy from school, her Mom is pregnant too and she was talking about how she is feeling sick and getting tired more often." Chris chattered happily, "So then when Mom was like that the last week I thought that maybe she was."
"That's great superman," Buck said absentmindedly.
You couldn't help but notice that Eddie hadn't even spoken yet, and Buck's tone was making you worried. While you had discussed expanding your family before, it was always talked about in the vague future and the idea that maybe they weren't ready was chewing you up.
"Hey Chris honey, I think you should get the card we made for your dads! I think it's sitting in your bedroom." He excitedly agreed, giving you a short time to talk to your partners.
"I know this is a shock, but is this okay? It's sudden but I love you both soo much and.."
"Baby," Buck interrupted, wrapping you in his arms. "this is the greatest gift you could ever give me. I can't wait to have another child with you two, honestly I can't wait to see Chris as a big brother." You sighed in relief knowing at least one of your partners was on board.
"Eds?" Buck whispered while directing the other mans head up gently with his hand and gently placing a kiss on his forehead. You both noticed the tears in his eyes as he struggled for words.
"I am so so grateful to you [y/n], for allowing me the opportunity to get to be a dad to another child again. I love you more than words can express." Tears of happiness began to fall down your cheeks as he pressed a soft peck to your lips and place his hand gently on your belly.
"And Buck, I can't wait to watch you be a Dad to this baby. You are an amazing parent to Chris but I am honored to be a dad with you again to this baby, to get to watch you Buck, and you too [y/n], get to experience every little moment together. Between us and Chris this baby is going to be so loved and cherished,"
Buck and Eddie wrapped you between them in a hug, whispering words of excitement and joy. You only parted when Chris came back in the room, a grin on his face as he thrust the card towards Eddie and Buck.
"Here" he grinned, passing over the card with the front reading '10 reasons why going to the zoo will help me be a better big brother!'

a touch of colour — eddie diaz.
writing masterlist | askbox
─── summary: eddie and chris' home is freakishly empty. you decide to redecorate a little.
─── pairing: eddie diaz x reader.
─── warnings & notes: fluffy fluff. no use of y/n, this was just supposed to be a short drabble but it ran aay from me and eddie might seem a little ooc but i don't even care it's so cute.
─── word count: 2.7k.
“BUCK, CAN I BORROW YOUR KEY to Eddie’s place, please?”
Your arrival at the station house isn’t preceded by any warning, and though it isn’t your intention to sneak up on Buck, he doesn’t seem to hear you coming. A panicked shriek tears itself from his throat as he drops what he’s holding, and the spray bottle full of cleaning fluid clatters to the floor at your feet.
An amused smile curls at your lips as he tries to play it off, ducking his head to hide the embarrassment blossoming in bright red spots across his cheeks.
“Uh, hey.” The words stumble out of Buck and he coughs, trying to recover what remains of his dignity. “You know, sneaking up on people isn’t good for your health. What if I’d panicked and thrown a punch or something?”
You quirk an eyebrow at him. “You did panic, Buck. Seems like it’s worse for your health than mine. Key, please?”
“Eddie’s just up in the loft, I can grab him if you want.”
It’s your turn to look a little sheepish. “Please don’t. It’s a surprise. Or it will be a surprise, if you let me borrow your key. I’ll return it tomorrow, I promise, and I’m not going to let a bunch of raccoons loose in there or anything━”
Buck blinks. The hint of a smile tugs at the corner of his mouth, just enough to let you know that he’s teasing. Mostly. “I wasn’t worried, but now I am.”
“I’m saving the raccoons for your apartment, actually,” you tell him, and now you’re not even really asking anymore, know that Buck will inevitably break because you’re Eddie’s girlfriend, and he actually likes you, and most importantly, his insatiable curiosity will not allow him to deny you. Hand outstretched, you wiggle your fingers expectantly. “Key, please.”
He huffs at you as if you’ve asked him to scale Mount Everest in nothing but swim trunks, rather than the perfectly reasonable request you’ve actually made, and makes a show of tugging the key to Eddie’s house off the keyring before passing it along to you.
“I have only one condition,” says Buck, a mischievous gleam in his eye as he presses the key into your palm.
You watch him warily. You’ve been dating Eddie, and subsequently been acquainted with Buck, long enough to recognise that look. “What?”
“Whatever you’re doing, make sure you film his reaction. I’ve got a funny feeling he’s gonna freak out.”
A nervous laugh bubbles in your throat, and you can’t help rolling your lips together as you pocket the key. It doesn’t take a genius to know that Eddie Diaz isn’t overly fond of surprises, but… fuck, you hope this one goes down well.
“I’ll keep you posted, Buck.” You offer him a two-fingered salute and turn on your heel, hurrying out of the firehouse before Eddie catches you sneaking around.
What he doesn’t know can’t hurt him, right?
Here’s the thing.
The first time Eddie invited you back to his place, you hadn’t really seen it. A euphoric haze had clouded all rational thought in your brain, because this brilliant guy you’d fallen head over heels for was so obviously guarded, and you’d been so happy the day he’d kissed you and invited you back to his place for coffee.
You’d been dating for three months by that point, and you’d wandered in and out of his house without really seeing anything except for him.
Meeting Christopher had gone much the same way. On the drive over you’d been rattling with nerves so much that you’d had to pull over on the freeway and shake out the cramp in your hand after white-knuckling the steering wheel. Your heart had thudded so hard in your chest that you worried Eddie would be able to hear it from the other side of the room.
There had been nothing to worry about, in the end, and almost a year on, you’re certain that neither of these boys can be pried out of the space they’ve created in your heart. Somehow, without really noticing, the pair of them have made a home there, built on a foundation of blood and muscle and all the love in your body.
You’re not sure your heart would know how to beat without them now.
And you love them, you love them, you love them both with everything you have…
… but this damn house is driving you insane.
There’s nothing wrong with it, in particular. It’s small and functional, perfect for the little family it shelters. Beige walls, basic furniture, sparse decorations that Eddie definitely had nothing to do with, and that’s sort of… it.
Now, you’re not an interior decorator, and you’d managed to miss it the first few times you visited, but now it’s like the blank walls are mocking you. Now you’ve seen it, you know, and the stark bleakness of this house has become a glaringly obvious problem that you’ve finally decided to tackle.
Unlocking the door with Buck’s key, you manage to nudge it open with your hip, hands and wrists weighed down with Target shopping bags that you dump on the floor the moment the door is closed. Tucking Buck’s key back into your pocket ━ Eddie gave you a key almost six months ago, but you’ve managed to lose four of them since, so it’s widely agreed that it’s best you borrow Eddie’s or Buck’s or Carla’s whenever you need to ━ you turn to the sparse open space of the kitchen/diner.
Hands settling on your hips, a slow breath escapes through your teeth as you survey the house. Christopher’s room is the only one with any personality, and you wouldn’t dare intrude on his privacy in that way anyway. Eddie’s room, similarly, feels off-limits.
But the rest of the house? Fair game.
When Eddie stumbles through the front door at the end of his shift, he doesn’t notice it right away. Not your bag hanging on a hook by the door, or your shoes tucked neatly against the wall. His head feels like it’s filled with cotton after a twelve-hour shift, and he’s simply grateful that Carla offered to drop Christopher off later, rather than have Eddie come pick him up after his shift.
He doesn’t notice you lingering in the kitchen with a bottle of beer in your hand until you clear your throat, and then he looks over, and a tired smile spreads over his face.
“That for me?” he asks, as hold out the beer bottle towards him, drops of condensation soaking your fingers.
“It’s definitely not for me.” You wrinkle your nose playfully as he accepts the drink, and you lean over the counter to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth. You hand over Buck’s key, and with it, all the anxiety you’ve felt since it first landed in your possession that morning. “Give this back to Buck for me? If I lose another one, I’ll never hear the end of it.”
Eddie chuckles and tucks the key into his pocket. “Buck didn’t mention you came by the firehouse.”
“I asked him not to.” Your voice wavers, just a little. The way you’re picking at a loose bit of skin near your thumb lets him know you’re nervous, and he reaches out with his free hand, curling rough fingers around your own. Unable to help yourself, a deluge of words start to babble out of you. “I did a thing. And I’m aware that you may not like the thing, and it almost certainly wasn’t my place which I’m realising now, but it seemed like a pretty harmless idea at the time?”
“Baby━”
“And if you hate it, I can take it all away! We can pretend I never did it, it’s just that your walls were driving me freaking insane, like which decorator decided that beige was a good base colour because I would like to have a word━”
“Hey!” A gentle squeeze of your hand grabs your attention, and when you look back at Eddie, the sight of him knocks the breath of you. You never knew eyes could be so big and brown and full of love, and even though there’s a little humour glinting in there at your expense, you still find it a little difficult to breathe.
Fuck, you love this man.
“What am I supposed to hate, exactly?” There’s a lilt of laughter in his voice, a gentle quirk to the corner of his mouth.
You want to kiss him until it blossoms into a full-blown grin. You hope you’re lucky enough to make this man laugh forever.
The look on his face helps to ease the tension in your shoulders. Slowly, you reach out and take the beer bottle from his grip, setting it on the counter. Instead, you replace it with your own hand, threading your fingers through his, a little chilly where the bottle pressed against his skin.
“Let me show you.”
Guiding him by the hand, you lead him through to the living room, and at first, he’s not sure what’s changed. There’s still the couch, and the TV, and the coffee table he knows you’ve always hated because it’s glass, and who has a glass coffee table, Eddie, you're a firefighter and this feels like a recipe for disaster!
(You’ve seen way too many movies where characters end up crashing through a glass coffee table but you still think it’s a valid point.)
And then he sees them.
He spots the first one next to the television; a picture of Chris from a few months ago, the first time all three of you went to the beach together. He’s grinning at the camera and there’s a dab of ice-cream on his nose from where you swiped him just a moment before. Eddie remembers taking this and sending it to you.
It wasn’t the first moment he realised he loved you, not by a long shot, but he hadn’t said it yet, and that day on the beach had cemented your place in his heart even further.
The picture is small, sitting in a quirky silver frame that you’ve glued a few seashells to.
The next two are over on the mantel. A photograph of the 118 in Bobby and Athena’s backyard last summer; Bobby’s frowning in the foreground, having been bullied into wearing a Kiss The Cook apron by Buck and Hen, while the rest of them are howling with laughter behind him. The other is a picture of Christopher and Shannon cuddled together beneath the Christmas tree.
Tucked between them, bizarrely, is a little wooden figurine of a runner duck wearing galoshes. This one, he knows, came from your personal collection.
Eddie’s heart stutters in his chest as he turns, finally, to the big thing. The wall behind the couch has always been depressingly bare, a dull expanse of beige paint that he’s always sworn he’d do something with, eventually.
Hell, the whole house is bare. And depressing. This, he’s ready to admit, even if the reason for it used to sting a little bit.
Before now, the only personal touches in his home belonged to Christopher. Report cards and drawings stuck to the fridge with kitschy magnets from tourist spots. An ever-changing pile of video games stacked on the floor next to the TV. A dinosaur-print throw that was dragged from Christopher’s bedroom on a lazy Sunday that hasn’t quite managed to migrate back there yet.
It was never that way on purpose. At first, he thinks, it was a reluctance to put down roots. Life was hectic enough, with his work schedule and Christopher switching schools. Before Carla, Eddie hardly had a moment to breathe, let alone think about decorating their home beyond the bare minimum required to get by.
And then, he thinks, it might have been guilt.
He doesn’t dare to dwell on that for too long. He feels your hand in his own, steady as a rock, and stares, glassy-eyed, at the wall you’ve managed to transform into something… something that feels like home.
A collage of wooden picture frames are scattered over the surface of the wall, in varying hues of warmth that contrast nicely with the beige that peeks through the cracks. A beige that, formerly, kind of made him want to scratch his eyes out. He hadn’t quite realised that until now.
Dozens of smiling faces peer down at him. A handful of memories he holds most dear, and each of them sends a flush of warmth through his chest.
There’s the day Chris was born, and he’s staring at this tiny baby in his arms as if he’s holding the sun and stars themselves. There’s Buck and Chris at the zoo, posing near the penguin exhibit. There’s Eddie, on the day he was certified as a full-fledged member of the LAFD, shaking Bobby’s hand. There’s even a picture where he’s fallen asleep on the couch, and his sisters are brandishing Sharpies like the little demons they are, drawing a moustache and beard that took days to properly fade away.
It’s such a little thing, really. They’re just pictures. But his throat feels tight and his eyes are wet and it doesn’t feel little to him. Not at all.
“You thought I’d hate this?” He’ll never admit that the words come out a little choked up.
You shrug. “You’re not a fan of surprises.”
“I might be now.”
And you both know it’s not true, that Eddie will never be that guy, but this is fine. This is perfect, and he’s damn sure it might be the nicest thing any girlfriend’s ever done for him.
He turns to you, a thousand more questions on the tip of his tongue, when he notices you’re holding your phone up with your free hand. A confused furrow appears between his brows.
“Buck,” you tell him, and it really doesn’t require further explanation, but still you add, “He thought you’d freak out. Asked for evidence.”
“Ah.” Eddie nods. You put your phone away as he winds his arms around your waist, pulling you close enough to kiss the tip of your nose. “I’m not freaking out.”
“I noticed.”
“Thank you,” he says, and kisses you again. This time his mouth slides against yours and lingers there for a few seconds, slow and gentle. “I can’t help but notice you’re not in any of the pictures.”
Your cheeks turn a rosy pink. “That would have been a little presumptuous of me, Mr. Diaz. And I was already hijacking your home for my own selfish agenda, so…”
“Wanna hijack it some more?”
The question slips out without any warning, and you blink up at your boyfriend in bewilderment. “Uh?”
Eddie smiles, wide and wonderful, and even though it’s not possible to fall more in love with him, you think you do.
“I talked to Chris about it a while ago,” he tells you, his thumb rubbing slow circles against your hip. “I was just waiting for the right time to ask you. And then you went all House Flipper anyway━”
“I did not go all House Flipper!”
“━ so it feels like the right time to ask.”
You watch him for a moment, all soft at the edges. “You want me to move in with you?”
“I think you’ve got a tartan throw that would look great in here,” he says teasingly, “and that little duck is part of a collection. He might get lonely.”
“He might,” you concede with a hum.
There is enough space on that mantel for the whole family.
You feel like there’s a tiny sun in your chest, like you might honest-to-God be glowing from the inside out right now, and when you pull Eddie down so you can kiss him again, you know without a doubt that the answer is yes.
There are a hundred things to figure out. You have a lease to get out of, and an apartment filled with enough clutter to furnish ten houses, and you’ve really got to figure out a solution for the key situation, because it’s getting ridiculous.
But in this moment, none of that matters. It’s you, and Eddie, and Chris, and a bare apartment suddenly filled with a lifetime of potential, and you just know everything is going to be fine.
And you hope, for a moment, that he’ll let you replace the couch next.

Meeting the Firefam
Eddie x reader
~1600 words
Warnings: epileptic reader. Hopefully accurately portrayed.
You parked in front of the station and turned off the ignition. Taking one final deep breath, you pushed the door open and stepped out. You didn't know why you were so nervous. Meeting Eddie’s coworkers shouldn't seem so frightening.
What if they hated you? What if they told him to break up with you? You knew they were more like family to him than just coworkers. Their opinions mattered a lot. You had only been dating him a little over a month but you had fallen hard. You really couldn't imagine your life without him and Chris and even Carla.
You needed them to like you.
Making your way inside, you quickly spotted Eddie as he approached. You greeted him with a kiss before he pulled you into a hug.
“Hey, you. How was traffic?” He asked.
You shrugged. “Normal. Slow.” Eddie knew it was your least favorite part about LA.
“I think lunch is almost ready. You ready to meet everyone?”
“No.” You wrapped your hands around his bicep as he started walking toward the trucks.
He leaned over and kissed your temple. “I told you they’re going to love you. You have nothing to worry about.” He pulled you along with him towards Buck and another firefighter beside the truck.
Buck smiled when he spotted you. “Hey, Y/N. Glad you finally decided to come have lunch with us.”
“Hi, Buck. Someone has been persistent.” You looked at Eddie just in time to catch his shrug.
“Y/N, this is Ravi.” Eddie introduced.
Ravi lifted his hand for you to shake. “Nice to finally meet you.”
“You too.”
Eddie pulled you away towards the stairs that led to the loft. You couldn't help but look around at everything. “This is a beautiful building.”
Eddie nodded. “I agree. It's my favorite station in the city.”
You had barely made it to the top of the stairs before you were being engulfed in hugs. “Oh, uh, hi.”
Eddie chuckled. “This is Hen and Chimney.”
“We are so excited to finally meet you. Eddie here won't shut up about you,” Chimney said.
You glanced at Eddie, catching him trying to hide his blush. “I don't talk about her that much,” he argued.
“Constantly,” Hen mouthed at you with a grin.
Next, Eddie led you over to the kitchen. “And this is Cap.”
The man in front of the stove wiped his hands on a dish towel before reaching out for a handshake. “It's Bobby.”
“Nice to meet you. It smells amazing in here.”
Bobby smiled. “Well, thank you. This will be done in a few minutes. Eddie, can you grab everyone down stairs?”
“On it.” Eddie pointed to the couches. “You can make yourself comfortable over there.”
Within ten minutes, everyone was getting settled at the table. Eddie took your hand to pull you up from the couch. As he pulled out a chair for you, you suddenly felt your left arm go numb.
“Oh no.” You mumbled. You reached out towards Eddie as your knees buckled and the world around you disappeared.
Eddie was quick to catch you before you could hit the ground. “Woah. Y/N?” When you didn't open your eyes he slowly lowered you to the floor. Seconds later you were convulsing violently. Eddie couldn't help but to just stare at you in shock.
Chim was on the floor beside Eddie a second later. “Eddie, we got her.”
“I'll grab a med kit,” Hen announced as she ran for the stairs.
Chimney kept you rolled on your side. Bobby stepped closer to pull Eddie away. “They need room to work.”
Eddie tried to resist. “I should help.”
Buck stepped beside his best friend to keep him out of the way.
Bobby stepped towards you and grabbed your foot, pulling off your shoe. “Medical alert. Epilepsy.” He pointed at the shoelace tag as he looked towards Eddie.
Eddie shook his head. “I didn't know. Why didn't she tell me?”
Hen returned with a monitor and med kit and Chim filled her in. “Epilepsy. Let's just give it a minute.”
Eddie pushes past Buck and sat down on the ground by your head. He whispered soft reassurances in case you could hear him.
Chim pulled a pulse ox monitor out of the med kit and clipped it on your finger.
“She's barely breathing,” Eddie pointed out. He knew that was common with seizures but still couldn't help the mild panic he felt.
“That's normal,” Hen reminded him. She started to attach an oxygen mask to the tank she’d carried upstairs just in case.
Next, Chim started to attach cardiac leads to your chest. Once he'd finished, they waited for the seizure to stop.
“That's five minutes,” Bobby pointed out.
Hen and Chim sighed as they locked eyes with each other. “Alright, let's push Ativan,” Chim said.
“I'll start an IV,” Hen announced. “Eddie can you hold her arm?” He did as asked, trying to hold your arm as still as possible without hurting you. “I'm in.”
Chim pushed the meds he'd drawn up as soon as IV was secured. It took about another twenty seconds for the seizure to finally stop.
Everyone let out a relieved breath. Eddie pushed some hair back behind your ear.
“Let's get her loaded up and to the hospital,” Chimney broke the momentary silence.
Hen nodded. “I'll go radio dispatch and get ready.”
Within five minutes you were loaded into the ambulance with Eddie and Chim beside you as Hen shifted into drive.
“Ugh.” You groaned a few minutes later. “N-no hospital,” you mumbled out fighting your grogginess.
Eddie ran his hand over your head. “Yes, hospital.”
You huffed, frustrated you can't get the words out to explain. “E-epi–”
“We know about your epilepsy, we found your alert tag,” Eddie interrupted. “Sweetheart, your seizure lasted almost six minutes. Hen and Chim had to push meds to stop it. You have to go in.”
Your eyebrows rose in surprise. Suddenly you were glad you'd been with them for lunch and not alone at home. You knew he was right and allowed yourself to relax. “Tired.”
Eddie pressed a kiss to your knuckles. “That's the medicine. You can sleep.”
You nodded as your eyes drifted closed. You weren't sure you could have stayed awake even if you'd tried.
A few hours later, you were finally settled into a room after being poked and prodded. They had run all kinds of tests trying to figure out what might have caused the long seizure.
“Anything I can get for you?” the nurse asked.
You shook your head as you shifted in an attempt to find a comfortable position. Every muscle was sore.
“Okay. I'll let your visitors know they can come in now, if that's alright with you,” the nurse says as she walks toward the door.
“Visitors? Plural?” You ask surprised.
“You have a whole herd of firefighters waiting out there for you,” she explains.
“Oh, wow. Could you just send Eddie in for now?”
She smiles kindly. “Of course, honey.”
Eddie pushes the door open not five minutes later. He pulls up a chair and takes your hand in his, careful to avoid your IV line.
“Hi,” you greeted
“Hi. How ya feeling?” He asked.
“Kinda like someone put me through a blender.”
He chuckled and nodded. “You scared me. I'm just glad Bobby noticed your medical alert tag.”
“I'm sorry,” you sighed. “This is definitely not how I planned to tell you about my epilepsy.”
He locks eyes with you. “So you were planning to tell me.” He looks annoyed or maybe hurt that you hadn't already told him.
“Eventually.” You drop your gaze to the bed. “It's not exactly an easy conversation. It's caused a few break ups over the years.”
“What do you mean?” He looks genuinely confused.
“I'm too much to deal with. No one wants to deal with seizures,” you try to explain. “And you already have to deal with sick people all day at work. I'm sure the last thing you want to do is deal with the same at home.” You sniffle. “I'll understand if you want out now.”
“Y/N,” Eddie said, placing a finger under your chin to make you look at him. “I love you. This could never change that. Any guy who dumped you because of this is an asshole.”
Tears rolled down your face before you were suddenly sobbing, relief washing over you in waves.
Eddie moved quickly to sit beside you on the bed. Pulling you into his side and shishing you softly.
You had been so worried about telling him for so long. “I-I'm sorry. I should have told you.” You sniffled harshly. “I should have known you'd accept this part of me.”
“You have nothing to apologize for. I know now. That's all that matters.”
Eventually you calmed down but you were beyond exhausted. “Hey, isn't everyone still out there waiting?”
“Yeah.” He pulled his phone out of his pocket. “I'll text them that you're okay and let them know they can head home.”
Placing a hand over his screen, you shook your head. “No. I want to see them.”
“You need to rest,” he argued. “They can come back tomorrow or we can go to the station if you're discharged.”
“Just a quick visit. Please? Fifteen minutes.”
Sighing, he stood from where he was still perched on the bed. “Ten.”
“Deal.”

Heyyy!! I have another eddie diaz request if that's okay? This time Eddie is planning to propose to reader and is a bit nervous but possibly gets chris involved holding a sign and turns around to eddie on one knee? Or they're at home getting ready for bed and he just proposes there and then as he can't think of a more perfect time. The first idea could be at home or the firehouse? All cute adorable and fluffy. Thank you!
Proposal
summary You're scared when Eddie calls you and tells you to urgently come to the firehouse - turns out there's no reason to be scared.
word count 1170
tags just pure fluff, Chris is a precious angel and I'll fight for him w my life
a/n unsure about this but here we go!! Thanks for the request <3
masterlist
You're preparing dinner when your phone rings - the ringtone you'd picked specifically for Eddie.
“What's up?” You ask, putting him on speaker so you can keep your focus on the vegetables you're chopping.
“Can you come over? To the station?” He doesn't sound relaxed - as you'd expected - but instead he sounds stressed and nervous, speaking hushed and fast. “Uhm, yeah. What's going on, Eddie?”
You hear him clearing his throat but he doesn't answer your question, “Just please come over.” Now you were actually freaked out. Wasn't he in the middle of a shift? Why would he need you to come over? Chris was at school and all of your mutual friends were with him.
Before you can try getting him to talk and explain what's going on he hangs up, leaving you in the dark.
You shove the vegetables into a Tupperware box and store them in the fridge before grabbing your keys and hurrying to your car.
When you arrive about ten minutes later you almost forget to lock your car, already calling for Eddie. Noting how instead of the usual buzzing around of several people, the firehouse seemed empty.
“Eddie?” You call out again, walking between the firetrucks with your phone clutched in your hand as you'd forgotten your purse in the hurry.
Huffing when you can't find him you stop walking and look around again, “Eddie! I came as quickly as I could, where are you and what was so urgent?” You hope he's the one hearing you and not some colleague you'd never met because that would just be embarrassing.
He looks over the railing of the loft, a pinched expression but otherwise fine expression on his face. He didn't seem to be in pain nor in any haste - you were getting gradually more annoyed by the fact you had sped here, expecting some grand emergency.
“Come up,” he says and licks his lips, a habit of his when he is nervous. You squint suspiciously and walk up the stairs.
When you do, he stands at the end of the stairs, blocking your vision from the rest of the loft.
“Eddie? What the hell is going on?”
He swallows and you can see some sweat beading on his forehead and temple. Worriedly you put the back of your hand against his forehead, not feeling any high temperature which simply confuses you more. He stares basically blankly at you before finally moving again.
“Baby,” he starts and at any other time you would've immediately smiled and melted into a puddle of adoration for this man, but right now you're slightly pissed he'd stressed you for seemingly no reason.
“We've been together for almost two years.” He keeps going and you nod slowly. What is he getting at?
“I love you. More than anything else.” You smile and chuckle a bit, “Excluding Chris…” He looks down with a short laugh and nod, “He loves you too.”
“Eddie, this is super cute and wholesome but why did you want me to come here for that? Any near death experiences I should know about that prompted this?”
He bites his lip and shakes his head. He slowly and gently intertwines his hand with yours and kisses the back of yours, holding eye contact. It makes you smile and fluster, looking to the side with a shy smile.
“There's no one in this world I could imagine being a better woman to me than you. You complete me and Chris. And I want to… I want to ask you something.”
It feels so surreal what he's hinting at that you don't believe your own intuition, simply wiping your eyes, “Eddie, don't make me cry I'll look like a panda,” you warn for a lack of a reaction, hoping your mascara at least survived the first few tears.
He chuckles and then slowly gets on one knee, your hand still cradled in his. You can't contain your sob when he kneels, making it clear what he's going to ask you.
Instead of asking the question he looks over his shoulder where Chris starts walking your way, a sign in his hands with that exact question on it. When Chris stands next to Eddie and looks at you with that adorable smile you can't help but sob, quickly reaching out to pull him into your arms and kiss the top of his head.
Catching Eddie's gaze you nod your head and bury further into Chris, “Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!”
The boy in your arms giggles and drops the sign to wrap his arms around your waist. “Told you, dad!” He calls and you laugh tearily.
“Yeah, you did, bud.” Eddie smiles fondly and wraps his arms around both of you. You see Buck motioning Chris to come to him, which he gladly does, considering Buck is still Christophers hero, and you hide your face behind a hand as Eddie slowly slides a ring onto your left hand.
There's an applause behind you from the rest of your closest friends, Chris sitting on Bucks hip as he giggles.
However you're focused entirely on the man in front of you, his hazel eyes teary as well when he kisses your knuckle and leans his forehead against yours.
“Te amo mucho, mi amor,” he mumbles against your forehead and kisses it, making you laugh happily. He wipes the last of your tears tenderly and you look at him with pure adoration.
“I love you so much.” He smiles and someone yells - you're pretty sure it's Buck because a smaller, high pitched voice echoes the same word - ‘kiss!’.
You shake your head in amusement but are caught off guard when Eddie surges forward and passionately and deeply kisses you, one hand holding you by your neck and the other still holding your left hand.
“Ew,” Chris says loud enough for everyone to burst into laughter and you and your now fiancé to laugh as well and break the kiss.
“What?” He asks offended when Buck pinches his side (though he looks like he could very well be the one to make Chris voice their shared distaste for the PDA).
You smile at the people you considered family, especially when Bobby clears his throat and points to the already set table, “Dinner’s ready, so let's eat!”
You sit between Eddie and Chris, the former's hand never leaving your thigh, yours laying on top.
“I just realized this means we're gonna have to deal with their PDA every day now…” Buck mentions, looking genuinely scared.
Hen seemingly kicks his shin under the table because he yelps and flinches before pouting and raising his hands in mock surrender. And wow, you couldn't be happier.
