homecoming part 2 - eddie diaz x reader
part 1 here!
Tumblr media
Then:
"I'm pregnant."
Eddie stares widely at Shannon, at the girl he had been friends with in seventh grade and reconnected with at the senior year bonfire several months ago. That bonfire had been Eddie's first time trying a beer, and it had also been the night where Shannon and Eddie had had sex for the first and only time with each other. They had amicably decided that they were better off as friends, and Eddie had thought that would be the end of things, since not even a week later, he had met you. The new girl at school. The girl that had flipped his entire world on its axis. A girl that he saw his entire future with.
Eddie couldn't help feel like those future plans were crumbling right before him. Eddie knew what Shannon being pregnant meant. He was eighteen, Catholic, and born in Texas. His parents would have his head if he didn't marry her. He just didn't know how he was supposed to live a happily married life when his heart will forever be with you.
Instead Eddie does what he's good at: he plans and compartmentalizes. He starts forming a mental checklist:
To-do: Tell her. Break her heart and yours simultaneously Tell Mom and Dad Marry Shannon Enlist in order to provide for your future child
Hours later, Eddie sets to work on the first task.
Meanwhile in a blissful ignorance, you rest your head against the passenger window of Eddie's Chevy Silverado, a content smile on your face. The two of you had gone to your favourite pizza place, and Eddie was currently driving you back home. He had been quiet and subdued tonight, but you had chalked it up to him being stressed about midterms. Besides, you know that he's comfortable opening up to you on his own terms; you never want to push him before he's ready.
Eddie rolls to a slow stop in front of your house. He kills the engine, and drops his hands from the wheel. He takes a deep breath, then:
"Shannon is pregnant."
Definitely not midterm stress.
You're silent as Eddie continues. "I have to marry her. It's the only way, and it's killing me, because you're the love of my life." Eddie turns his body fully in the driver's seat to face you. His eyes are shiny and wet, but the tears don't fall - almost as if his body had told him he wasn't allowed to.
While Eddie is talking though, a distant alarm sounds in the back of your own brain. Pregnant. Late periods. When was the last time you had your period?
You eventually speak, shaky and voice wobbly. "I understand. Maybe in another life, eh?" With that, you press a chaste kiss on Eddie's cheek, and scramble out of the car, wet hot tears streaming down your face.
The next morning, you stare at the positive pregnancy test in your hands, and tickets to L.A. get booked.
Now:
Chris and Bee are two peas in a pod. The two of them walked ahead of you and Eddie at the aquarium, excitedly sharing facts that they knew about sharks. Eddie and you, though? The tension between the two of you was thick. Neither one of you knew how to start a conversation with the other, but that doesn't stop Eddie from giving you long glances out of the corner of his eye.
Could anyone blame him? You were stunning, and the fact that the two of you shared an adorable girl lit a territorial fire in Eddie. At the same time, there was also a big part of Eddie that was hurt and angry that you didn't tell him about Bee's existence.
Suffice it to say, Eddie Diaz was having a very complicated Sunday morning.
"So, you have a coffee shop?" Eddie tries, going for a safe topic.
You smile tentatively. "Yeah. It's also a bookstore."
Eddie's smile back is genuine. "You always did want to open one. Congratulations."
"Mommy!"
Both of your heads whip towards the kids. Except, it hadn't been Bee calling out for you. It had been Chris, referring to his own mom.
Shannon stands there before you. She looks at the two of you, then back at the kids, face stricken as if she had seen a ghost.

Collision
TW/CW: Car accident, injuries.
Pairing: Evan Buckley x Diaz!Reader
You smiled to yourself as you walked beside Christopher, your nephew. You had watched him in the morning while your brother was working, and Carla was attending an appointment. You didn’t mind though, you absolutely adored him, and he enjoyed spending time with you.
You had an hour to kill before dropping him off to Carla, and heading off to work yourself, so you decided to swing by the station to have lunch with the team. It was quiet when you arrived, indicating the team were on a call. You took it upon yourself to make lunch for everybody, knowing it would be a relief to them when they got back. Chris was sat at the table on his tablet, in a world of his own, allowing you to focus on the food. You couldn’t help but smile to yourself as the sound of the shutters opening filled the station followed by heavy boots thudding against the floor as each firefighter jumped out of the truck. The footsteps got closer, the faint smell of smoke mixed with a familiar aftershave filled your nostrils and you instinctively lean back into the body that is now behind you as arms snake around your waist. “Isn’t this a nice surprise?”
You turn towards the voice, and smile, “Apparently, I can’t seem to stay away.” You lean up to kiss Buck, causing Chris to pull a disgusted face. This seemed to amuse Buck, and he kissed you again. Eddie appeared in the kitchen, and made his way over to his son, visibly happy to see him. “Come on guys, get a room.” You rolled your eyes playfully at your brothers comment, and pulled away from Buck.
You dished up the food for the team and took a seat, eager to hear about the call they had just been on. You listened intently as you ate, your complete focus on Buck as he spoke passionately about the call. Your heart warmed as you watched his face light up, he loved how much you genuinely enjoyed hearing about the calls, and how his day had gone. Chimney was the next to speak up, “It was a good call, except the part where Buck was playing hero and nearly got himself killed.” Bucks eyes widened and he turned to look at Chimney, giving him a look that immediately stopped him talking. Chimney, trying to help, began speaking again, “Don’t worry, it’s nothing out of the ordinary. It wasn’t any more dangerous than a simple call, the risk is always there. Besides, it was probably one of the safer times Buck tried to save the day, you should’ve seen him on the call last week.”
“Chim, stop talking.” Buck, who was now visibly on the spot, turned to face you. He studied your face, working out how to approach this. He opened his mouth to reassure you, but you beat him to it, “I thought we spoke about this…” Buck knew you understood that no day was guaranteed, and that saving people on calls was something he would always try to do, even if it put him at risk. He also knew that he had a habit of jumping the gun and putting himself in dangerous situations without thinking it through. “I’m sorry…”
You checked your watch, and stood up. “I just wish you’d be more careful, Buck.” Chris stood up and hugged Eddie goodbye, and you did the same. “Later bro.” You said goodbye to the team and walked back to the car with Chris by your side. The breeze hit you, and you took a deep breath. Maybe you were overreacting, maybe not but you just needed a moment. You helped Chris into the car and got in yourself, turning on the radio. The short ride to Carlas mostly consisted of Chris laughing as you sang along to the music, and the occasional conversation when Chris wasn’t overly engrossed in his phone. Carla was there to greet you when you pulled up on her drive, Chris was extremely excited and practically jumped out of the car to hug her. Carla gave you a hug, “Y/N, it’s so good to see you!” You smiled and hugged back, “It’s been a while, huh? Life has been hectic.” Carla laughs at this, “You’re telling me, your brother told me all about you and Buck. Moving in together? That’s a big step!”
“We were practically living together anyway, and if I’m being honest, Eddie is probably just relieved to have his couch back. I was starting to get on his nerves.” You explained to Carla, and she chuckled. “Well, I wish you all the best. I’m gonna get Chris inside, and I’ll let you run off to work. It was lovely seeing you.” You hug Chris goodbye and bid farewell to Carla before getting into your car and beginning your journey to your place of work. In front of you, the amber light turned to red and you stopped. You could see that traffic was beginning to build up on the other side of the junction, and you didn’t want to be late. You sighed, and made the decision to take an alternate route, so when the light turned green, you indicated and pulled out to begin taking your turning. You let out a sudden gasp before you could even properly register the car coming towards you. All you could do was attempt to brace for the impact, and so you did.
A loud crunching sound surrounded you, followed by the feeling of being thrown as your car was barrelled into. You closed your eyes tightly, scared of what was next. You didn’t have the courage to open them again until the car steadied. The first thing you could see was the airbag in front of you, despite not feeling it deploy moments before. You could smell the burning of the tyres, outside of the car, you could hear the panicked voices of bystanders, but all you could focus on was the blood that was now spread across your arms, unsure of where it was actually coming from. You weren’t in pain, at least you couldn’t feel any in that moment. Is that what shock feels like? You couldn’t think, but your eyes got heavy and you fought your hardest not to succumb to the darkness.
Back at the station, the call was only just coming in. The alarm blared throughout the station, alerting the team to the call. They were quick to jump into action, grabbing their gear and piling themselves into their assigned trucks. Eddie and Buck sat beside each other, speaking casually between themselves about what had happened earlier. “Just give her some time, she’ll come around. For her, two of the people she loves most are at risk everyday, you’ve gotta imagine it can’t be easy. It’s a risky job as it is, and when you put yourself into riskier situations without needing to, it decreases the chance of making it home at the end. She’s scared. Just talk to her.” Eddie attempted to reassure Buck, who was feeling terrible. He couldn’t shake the image of your face from his mind, the face that showed disappointment in his actions. Before Buck could respond, the truck halted and the team jumped out, ready to give help where needed. Buck stopped in his tracks as an all too familiar car was crushed before him. He tried not to panic, hoping that his suspicions were wrong. His eyes flicked to the number plate and his heart stopped. His feet were moving before his mind could catch up. He shouted your name, drawing Eddies attention. It took Eddie a few seconds to process what was happening. You had not long left the station, it couldn’t possibly be you. Right?
Buck arrived to your car first, nausea washed over him as he caught sight of your injured body. “Y/N? Hey, it’s me. I’m here.” You weren’t completely aware of what was happening, your eyes opened with a struggle. Your movements were weak as you turned your head to look at him. “Buck?” You spoke quietly, not completely aware of the situation at hand. “Don’t move, try and keep still.” He tried to remain as calm as he could, he didn’t want to scare you any more, he was terrified himself. Eddie ran right over to the car, his heart racing as he feared what he would find. His first instinct was to check the back seat, relief finally washing over him as he saw no sign of Christopher. Still, he needed to make sure, “Y/N, was Chris in the car?”
You shook your head, “Carlas.” Eddie felt a weight off his shoulders, knowing his son was safe. The weight soon came back when he saw the condition you were in. Your eyes rolled back, and you fell into unconsciousness. Bobby was running the scene, assigning Hen and Chim to medically assist you, and he grabbed the gear to support Buck and Eddie in freeing you from the car. Buck didn’t want to let go of your hand, but he knew he had to in order to get you out sooner. The team worked tirelessly, ensuring to be as careful as possible. Bobby handed the halligan to Buck, “Buck, you focus on getting the doors open. Diaz, grab the saw and be on standby.”
Buck groaned as he tried to pry the doors open, with no results, “Roofs too dented Cap, I can’t get it open.” Bobby nodded, and turned to Eddie, “Saws it is. Get in there Diaz, Buck, you too.” The roof was off in no time, Hen and Chim jumped straight in and equipped you with a neck brace, and got the back board in place to move you. Hen checked your vitals quickly, trying to make sure you were steady enough to be moved. “I’ve got a faint pulse, we gotta move.” They moved you out of you car quickly, and transferred you to the ambulance. “Trauma to the abdomen, possible internal bleeding. I’ll let the hospital know we’re en route.” Buck jumps into the back of the ambulance with Chimney, and instantly takes your hand in his. Hen places herself into the drivers seat, putting the ambulance into 911 mode and begins the journey as fast as she can to the nearest hospital.
Buck hated seeing you like this. He was filled with anxiety, the nausea constantly there as he studied your visible injuries. His heart sank with every second that went by, the more he thought about you laying there almost lifeless, expecting you to flatline any second now. “I’m sorry baby, we can’t leave things like this. I need you to get through this so I can apologise to you. I know I’m not the easiest person to love, and I also know that I’m the biggest pain in the ass, but I love you, and I need you. Please.” Buck sobbed as he held your hand tighter. Time seemed to be going extremely slow for Buck, yet moments later Hen was pulling up at the hospital. You were rushed in, Hen spewed all your information to the nurses as you were wheeled in and handed over. Buck, Hen and Chimney stood there as you were wheeled out of sight. One of the nurses stopped Buck from running after you, and he sat defeated in the waiting room. The rest of the team arrived soon after, Eddies face was similar to Bucks. Eddie spoke first, “Any update?” The lack of response from Buck had him on edge, fearing the worst. Luckily, Chimney filled the silence. “There’s no update, but no news it almost always good news.”
Eddie placed his hand on Bucks shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze before sitting down next to him. “How’re you holding up?” Buck didn’t look up, instead he kept his head in his hands. He couldn’t respond, he couldn’t trust his voice not to give out. His leg bounced anxiously, and despite not talking, his feelings were painfully obvious. Eddie could empathise, he knew exactly what was going through Bucks mind. It was happening to him too, but he concealed it as much as he could, knowing Buck needed him. “You know, each time we’re sat in these chairs, it never gets easier. You don’t have to talk, I get it. I think you should know that I’m right here for you, I understand. Y/N is going to be okay, that I have no doubt about. She’s my sister, and us Diaz’s, we don’t back down. We fight.” Eddie continues talking, and he’s not sure whether he’s trying to convince Buck or himself.
A few hours go by, and the team are waiting as patiently as they can for an update. Maddie had arrived some time ago, and was sat with Buck. She was not only there to support her brother, but also her brothers girlfriend, who Maddie had claimed as her best friend shortly after meeting her. Bobby hands a coffee to Buck and Eddie, who hadn’t moved from their seats since arriving. This changed moments later as a nurse approached, making them stand. Buck felt as if his legs were going to give way any second. The nurse cleared her throat, “She’s stable. She’s incredibly lucky to have made it out with the injuries she did, it could’ve been a lot worse. She’s awake, if you’d like to go see her.”
Buck didn’t stick around to hear whatever else the nurse had to say, he darted through the corridor until he got to your room. He stopped to take a deep breath, and stepped inside. He was scared to look at you, all he could picture was you covered in blood still. His head shot up as he heard a voice, your voice to be exact, “Buck?”
He was by your bedside in a blink of an eye, taking your hand in his. His eyes wandered over your body, taking in each of your injuries. His heart broke a little more with each one. He finally looked you in the eyes, and that’s when it hit him. His eyes filled up with tears, “Y/N…”
“Hey, don’t cry. I’m fine, see. I’m right here.” You gave his hand a squeeze, trying to give him the reassurance he needed. Buck took a seat close to your bed, your hand in his and against his lips. You move your hand up to his cheek and wipe his tears, Buck practically melted into your touch. “I really thought I had lost you.”
“I’m right here, I’m not going anywhere. I need to apologise for my reaction earlier, that could’ve been our last conversation earlier and left without saying goodbye, or telling you how much I love you.”
Buck shook his head, “You have nothing to apologise for, I’m the one that owes you an apology. I’m sorry that I’m not more careful when I’m out on a call, I shouldn’t be that reckless. I’m sorry that I can’t promise to walk through that door every night, safe and unscathed. I can appreciate how you feel now, and I promise I’ll try my hardest to be more careful. I love you, and I don’t want you ever feeling anything close to what I’ve felt today.” You wince as you sit up, making Buck panic. You push through the pain, and pull Buck to you. “Come here.” He stands from his chair and leans down to kiss you quickly. He carefully moves your hair from your face, ensuring he doesn’t touch any of your cuts or bruises.
“I love you too, and even though I’m petrified that you won’t make it home one day, I trust that you’ll try everything in your power to make sure you do. I’m proud of you, Evan.” As you spoke, Buck smiled to himself. A sense of relief washed over him. Before he could respond, you continued. “So… does this mean I can finally get a new car now?”
Buck chuckled, “You’re a pain in the ass, Diaz.”
“Takes one to know one, Buck.”
A/N: So, I think I rewrote this like 10 times. Its been a while since I've done any writing, so please bare with me while I figure out my writing style again. Any criticism is welcome, I appreciate the feedback.

The idea was good, the execution not so much
Established Buddie x Reader, ft our fave Diaz Chris. You and Chris plan a surprise for the boys, it doesn't quite go to plan.
Tumblr media
The house was quiet when Eddie and Buck arrived home from a 24 hour shift. Usually when they finished at a reasonable hour they came home to hustle and bustle. You and Chris generally had music playing as you cooked up a storm throughout the kitchen.
Instead it was almost eerie silent in their house, in fact if it wasn’t for your car parked in the driveway they’d assume no one was home.
Buck shrugged at Eddie as they made the way down the hallway, peering in doors as they passed. It wasn't till they opened the door to the living room that they found any signs of life. Twinkling fairy lights were hung across the walls, basking the room in a light golden glow. Soft instrumental music was playing gently from the speaker and the table was set for four.
"What's going on?" Eddie whispered to his partner, Buck for his part looking just as bewildered. "Where are they?"
Buck shook his head in confusion, making his way into the living room. He spotted you and Chris pretty quickly, both sunk into the sofa fast asleep. Eddie followed him over and both men couldn't help the grin when they saw their partner and son, clearly accidentally napping while waiting for the boys to come home.
"Hi mijo," Eddie whispered, gently pulling Chris from your embrace and into his arms. "Dad! Bucky! You're home," He whispered wiping the sleep from his eyes.
"Mom and I were supposed to surprise you, we didn't mean to fall asleep,"
"We can see that superman." Buck whispered, "What's the big surprise?"
"Ay dios mio," Eddie suddenly exclaimed, staring down at Chris in shock.
"What Eds?" Buck questioned.
"Look at Chris' shirt Ev,"
Chris grinned stretching out so Buck could read it properly. There sprawled across his tiny chest were the words 'BEST BIG BROTHER'.
"Oh my god," Buck gasped, mouth opening and closing but no other words coming out.
"Surprise," You whispered nervously, having woken up from your nap to Eddie's shout of shock. Both boys whipped around to face you, as you grinned sheepishly.
"Baby, is this true? It's not a prank right?" Buck whispered, placing his hand across your stomach like he already expected a big bump to be there.
"It is, I found out yesterday. Chris and I had a big plan to tell you both, there's even a bun sitting in the oven," When Evan got a look of concern on his face you followed up with "the oven is turned off, I promise."
"You're sure? About being pregnant I mean."
"Positive, literally." Handing over multiple tests to each of the boys, all with the same result. "Chris was actually the one who mentioned it, I may be slightly bias but I think our son is a genius,"
"So Amy from school, her Mom is pregnant too and she was talking about how she is feeling sick and getting tired more often." Chris chattered happily, "So then when Mom was like that the last week I thought that maybe she was."
"That's great superman," Buck said absentmindedly.
You couldn't help but notice that Eddie hadn't even spoken yet, and Buck's tone was making you worried. While you had discussed expanding your family before, it was always talked about in the vague future and the idea that maybe they weren't ready was chewing you up.
"Hey Chris honey, I think you should get the card we made for your dads! I think it's sitting in your bedroom." He excitedly agreed, giving you a short time to talk to your partners.
"I know this is a shock, but is this okay? It's sudden but I love you both soo much and.."
"Baby," Buck interrupted, wrapping you in his arms. "this is the greatest gift you could ever give me. I can't wait to have another child with you two, honestly I can't wait to see Chris as a big brother." You sighed in relief knowing at least one of your partners was on board.
"Eds?" Buck whispered while directing the other mans head up gently with his hand and gently placing a kiss on his forehead. You both noticed the tears in his eyes as he struggled for words.
"I am so so grateful to you [y/n], for allowing me the opportunity to get to be a dad to another child again. I love you more than words can express." Tears of happiness began to fall down your cheeks as he pressed a soft peck to your lips and place his hand gently on your belly.
"And Buck, I can't wait to watch you be a Dad to this baby. You are an amazing parent to Chris but I am honored to be a dad with you again to this baby, to get to watch you Buck, and you too [y/n], get to experience every little moment together. Between us and Chris this baby is going to be so loved and cherished,"
Buck and Eddie wrapped you between them in a hug, whispering words of excitement and joy. You only parted when Chris came back in the room, a grin on his face as he thrust the card towards Eddie and Buck.
"Here" he grinned, passing over the card with the front reading '10 reasons why going to the zoo will help me be a better big brother!'

You’re going insane.
You’ve been away for two months, on a placement course with the academy. As a trainee EMT, you’ve been lucky enough to earn your place in the 118, the one firehouse that every firefighter and paramedic in Los Angeles covets. With that comes training days and practical exams and occasionally, a two month placement that you’re scored and assessed on.
You passed with flying colours, of course - no one doubted you for a second. You’d expected to cruise back into your firehouse after some time away like you’d never left, everything exactly the same as it was.
Except, you’re going insane.
Eddie Diaz has a moustache.
A full on 80s inspired pornstar brush of a moustache.
It suits his face beautifully, accentuating his dark features and those big brown eyes. It’s made him ten times more attractive - which you didn’t think was even possible. You’ve had a harmless crush on him ever since your first day, and the moustache seems to have accelerated it tenfold.
“Are you okay?”
A heavy arm is slung around you, pulling you into the side of a solid body. You know who it is based on his cologne. You relax into him, resting your head on his shoulder.
“Yeah, I’m good.”
He looks at you skeptically, eyebrows raised.
“Blue.”
“Buck.”
“You’ve been kinda spacey these last couple of days. What’s the deal?”
“There’s no deal. Just tired, I guess.”
“You’d tell me if something was wrong though, right?”
You look up at him, heart melting at the genuine concern in his eyes.
“Of course I would,” you reassure. “Love you.”
“Love you,” he mumbles into your hair, pressing a kiss onto your head. “Even if you are stubborn as hell.”
You chuckle, burrowing further into his side and getting comfortable on the couch. You both sit like that for a while, praying the alarms don’t sound so you can enjoy your peace a little while longer.
“Hey, Blue?”
The source of all of your stress comes striding up the stairs, all bright eyed and gorgeous.
“Eddie.”
He takes a seat on the other side of you, pressing his thigh into yours. You will yourself to take a deep breath and calm down, before he feels all of the tension in your body.
“Chris has been counting down the days until you came back. You wanna come over for dinner tonight? He’s missed you like crazy.”
“I’d love to,” you breathe, grinning at him like an idiot.
He grins right back, squeezing your thigh quickly. You determinedly ignore the way electricity zips through your veins at the action.
“Alright, I’m gonna workout for a while. Let’s hope we don’t get a call when I’m mid weight set,” he laughs, winking at you cheekily before heading down the stairs.
Heat blooms across your chest as you bite your lip, trying to stop yourself from beaming from ear to ear. As soon as he’s gone, Buck grabs both of your shoulders, shaking you like a maniac.
“Oh. My. God.”
“What? Buck, what? Jesus, what?”
You grip onto his wrists, willing him to still his movements.
“That’s what’s gotten into you! It’s Eddie!”
You choke on your words, struggling to get any out - so you punch his leg as hard as you can, giggling when he yelps. Buck swings his arm around your neck, catching you in a headlock and pulling you into his lap. All you can do is try to wriggle out, smacking any of his body parts you can reach. Eventually you separate when you both crash onto the floor, laughing and out of breath.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” he pants, lying next to you on the ground.
“Tell you what, Evan?”
“That you’re in love with Eddie.”
Your eyes go wide as your jaw drops open, alarm bells going off in your mind.
“Woah- that’s, yeah, uh… no.”
“Okay, not love, then. But you’ve got the hots for him. Big time.”
You sigh in defeat, head dropping back onto the wooden floor.
“He’s a handsome man.”
“I know,” he agrees. “All of us would agree with you on that.”
You lie in silence for a moment, praying that no one comes up the stairs and finds you here. Buck intertwines his fingers with yours, squeezing reassuringly.
“It’s the moustache,” you whisper. “The goddamn moustache.”
“Oh, you like a man with some facial hair?” he smirks, propping himself up on his elbow.
You sit up, leaning back against the sofa and dusting yourself off.
“I do. I like you better when you have a little bit of stubble going on.”
“Noted,” he winks. “You should tell him.”
“Huh?”
“That you like the moustache. He’ll appreciate it.”
“Yeah. No. Not gonna happen.”
“You never know… something good might come of it.”
“Evan. Are you hearing yourself?”
“Loud and clear, Bluey. Listen, you’re a beautiful girl. You tell Eddie you like his moustache… he tells you he likes your entire face… and boom. Fireworks.”
You throw your head back as you cackle, laughing with your full chest.
“You’re ridiculous.”
“I’m just saying! You never know what might happen.”
“And I’m just saying… you’re ridiculous.”
You’re startled suddenly by the bells ringing and lights flashing, both of you jumping up and running down the stairs towards the truck.
“Saved by the bell,” Buck grins, winking at you.
Saved by the bell indeed.
✵  ✵    ·  ✵    *  · ✵
An evening with Chris is exactly what you need.
Only… that’s not what you get.
“He got invited to a birthday party at the movies last minute. I didn’t have the heart to tell him you were coming over. I should have called, Blue - I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay,” you soothe, kicking off your shoes by the door like you’ve done so many times before. “I brought wine, anyway. Just in case.”
“You’re the best,” he chuckles, heading to the kitchen to get some glasses. “You and I can catch up tonight. I want to know all about your assessments.”
“It wasn’t that exciting, really. Lots of time in a classroom listening to some old dude talking.”
You get comfy on the couch, tucking your legs underneath yourself and happily accepting the glass of wine that Eddie holds out to you. He takes the cushion next to you, turning so his body’s facing yours.
“Did they let you drive the ambulance?”
“Yes! We had driving lessons, which were hilarious. There were some people there I wouldn’t trust to drive a golf cart, never mind an ambulance with a dying patient in.”
He cackles, knocking his knee into yours. All you can think about is how good he smells, all woody and musky and masculine.
You launch into a story about an emergency amputation on a plastic doll to distract yourself, which ends in both of you in fits of laughter, tears dripping down your faces.
The bottle of wine goes down too smoothly over the course of the evening, both of you a little tipsy. You’ve inched closer, legs tangled as you lean into each others sides. You can’t stop giggling, warm and flushed and happy to be in one another’s company.
Eddie’s phone vibrates, both of you scrambling around the cushions to find it. Eventually, he finds it, both of you chuckling at the theatrics of it all.
“Hello? Oh, hi Jenna. Yeah, sure. No worries, that’s fine. Give me a call if he needs anything, alright? Okay, tell him I say goodnight. Thanks, Jenna.”
You raise your eyebrows in question.
“Chris is going to stay the night at Cameron’s. His mom was just checking it’s okay.”
“He’s so grown up now,” you sigh. “Where does the time go?”
“I wish I had the answer to that,” he says as he throws his phone onto the coffee table. “I’ve got no idea.”
You lean against the back of the couch, resting your head on top of your arms. Eddie stares at you with the softest look on his face that you’ve ever seen, mirroring your posture.
“We all missed you,” he murmurs. “The 118 wasn’t the same with you gone.”
“I missed you. All of you. I was counting down the days until I could come back.”
He smiles at you all gentle and honey sweet, and you’re surprised you don’t melt into a liquid on his nice couch. Your heart is thumping against your chest, working overtime to keep you upright and breathing.
It’s never been like this with Eddie. Or maybe it has. You’ve always been able to tamper down your feelings, keep them buried and in check - so much so that a beautiful friendship has blossomed over time. You don’t want to ruin what you’ve built by admitting you’ve got some silly school girl crush on him and his moustache. It’d kill you if you lost him - Christopher too.
“Have you done something different?”
His buttery voice breaks you out of your daydream.
“Hmm?”
“You look… different. In a good way. Beautiful.”
He’s rambling, trying to cover his tracks so it doesn’t look like he’s coming onto you. You smile, shaking your head.
“Thank you, but I don’t think so. Oh wait, I have a new blush on my cheeks. Maybe it’s that?”
“Suits you.”
You bite your lip to stop yourself from grinning like the Cheshire Cat.
“If I ask you a question, will you be honest with me, Blue?”
“Always.”
“What do you think of the moustache?”
Oh no. You pause, trying to formulate an appropriate answer quickly.
“I… like it.”
“You don’t sound like you do,” he chuckles.
“No, I do. I like it.”
“I thought you promised to be honest.”
His hand is resting on your knee, settled and comfortable. You’re not sure when he put it there, but you’re not complaining.
“I am being honest.”
“Look me in the eye, then.”
You hadn’t even realised you’d been avoiding him, too busy worrying about keeping your heart rate steady. You finally catch his gaze, those big brown eyes staring straight into your soul.
“Blue?”
“Eds?”
Your voices are low and cautious, careful not to disrupt the atmosphere you’ve created. You’re both wine drunk and warm, giddy off of the happiness of being reunited with one of your best friends.
“Tell me what you really think about the moustache. I trust you to be honest - if you think it’s terrible, I’ll shave it off right now.”
“Don’t shave it,” you say a little too quickly. “I meant it when I said I like it. Promise.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. You look good. Fuck, you look good.”
The wine is making you too honest, but it’s too late to turn back now. He wanted the truth… he’ll get the truth.
“Oh. You like it, don’t you?”
He’s got this cocky smirk on his face, arrogant and self assured. You wish you hated it, but you don’t. Unfortunately.
“So what if I like a man with facial hair? Is that a crime?”
“It’s not a crime,” he laughs. “Just didn’t think the pornstache would be your kind of thing.”
“Well I didn’t think it’d be yours either, but here we are.”
He looks at you with nothing but mischief in his eyes, gaze raking up and down your body slowly. A shiver runs down your spine, the hairs on your arms standing up in anticipation. You sit in the quiet for a moment, waiting for Eddie to make the next move - you’re worried that your raging crush means that you’re misreading the atmosphere of the room.
“You wanna take it for a spin?”
Time stands still for a moment, both of you holding your breath.
“I- I- you… Eds, I- what?”
He chuckles all low and slow, like butter wouldn’t melt.
“You wanna take it for a spin?”
You’re looking at him with your jaw hinged open, blinking like a deer in headlights. When you don’t say anything, Eddie speaks again.
“You wanna sit on it?”
You’re quite convinced you’re in another dimension, catapulted into an alternate reality all of a sudden. An alternate reality where Eddie Diaz is… asking you to sit on his face?
“I- what, um… where has that come from?”
You’re only now noticing the blush on his cheeks, unable to tell if it’s from you and the close proximity or the bottle of wine that now sits empty on the coffee table.
“You like the moustache. And I like you.”
He looks almost sheepish, like he didn’t mean to confess out loud.
“I… do like the moustache. And I do like you.”
He grins at you all bold and beautiful, and you can’t help but grin right back.
“I had a dream last month that you sat on my face,” he murmurs, leaning in so he’s talking right into your ear. “I can’t get it out of my head. It’s like it plays on repeat.”
You clear your throat, attempting to get words out.
“Tell me more.”
“It was the hottest thing I’d ever seen in my life. It felt so real, Blue. I swear I could taste you on my tongue when I woke up.”
You’re almost gasping for breath, heart working overtime in your ribcage as you pant.
“Well I guess I better… how did you say it? Take it for a spin?”
He quirks an eyebrow at you to ask are you sure?, which has you smirking at him with nothing but deviance in your eyes.
“It’d be rude not to, Eddie. Seeing as you asked so nicely. And seeing as the universe is sending you psychic, prophetic, sexy dreams about me.”
He doesn’t waste another second, shuffling down the couch so he’s lying flat. When you don’t move, he props himself up on his elbows, looking at you expectantly.
“You can’t sit on my face from all the way over there, Bluebird.”
Laughing in disbelief, you crawl your way up his body, stopping when you’re straddling his waist. You lean down, pausing so you’re nose to nose as you breathe each other in.
“Can I kiss you?”
He looks confused that you’re asking but nods eagerly, softness written all over his face. You kiss him gently, carefully, sweetly. You’re figuring each other out, not wanting to push any boundaries too far too soon.
Eddie slips his tongue into your mouth eagerly, hips bucking up into yours. It’s all teeth and lust carnal need, years of built up longing bubbling to the surface. When you’re both so out of breath you’re lightheaded, you pull away, pecking his lips quickly before standing up to shimmy your shorts and panties down your legs. Eddie looks drunk - not on the wine, but on you.
You climb back on top of him, shuffling up his chest so you’re hovering over his face. You’re completely sure you want this, but there’s a tiny little inkling of anxiety that’s spreading through your veins, lighting up your nerves.
“I’ll take care of you,” he promises, looking up at you with nothing but love in his eyes. “Always.”
“I know,” you smile, gently moving a stray strand of hair away from his eyes. “Show me what you’ve got, Diaz.”
With that, you quit the hovering and sit down exactly where he wants you, throwing caution to the wind.
Eddie takes it slow at first, taking mental notes. It’s all careful and loving and considered, both of you holding back. He’s kitten licking, sucking gently, savouring the taste of you while he can. Eventually, you get a little impatient, accidentally bucking your hips into his face.
“S’that what you want?” he mumbles from underneath you. “Use me, Blue. Take what you need.”
He doesn’t have to tell you twice, as you instantly grind your hips forward. He slips his tongue inside you, your back arching when the gorgeous slope of his nose bumps against your clit.
“Oh, fuck,” you breathe, tangling your fingers into his hair to use as leverage. “Right there, Eds. Keep doing that.”
He does exactly as he’s told, curling his tongue just right as you rock forwards and backwards, taking control of the situation. He’s groaning beneath you, clearly enjoying this just as much as you are. When you let out a particularly pornographic moan, his hips are bucking up into the air, desperate for any kind of friction.
“Close,” you mumble, fingers tightening in his hair. “So close, Eddie.”
His hold on your thighs only gets firmer, his grip bruising as he digs his fingertips into your flesh. As if he knows you need a little push, he smacks your ass hard with an open palm, the unexpected jolt of it sending you flying into your climax.
Eddie works you through it, tongue never ceasing its movements until you’re tugging him away and shuffling down so you can collapse against his chest. He wraps his arms around you, drawing patterns on any skin he can reach to calm your racing heart. There’s not an inch of space between you, bodies plastered together on his couch.
“You okay?” he’s asking all muffled into the top of your head.
“Never better.”
You feel his laugh rumble through your bones, making you chuckle.
“So… you don’t want me to shave the moustache?”
“You’re annoying,” you grumble, looking up at him with stars in your eyes. “But don’t you dare.”
“Yes ma’am,” he teases, pressing a kiss into your hair. “Loud and clear.”
You’re not sure how long the two of you lie all tangled up on the couch together. It doesn’t matter.
Tonight, you have all the time in the world.

Entering the station, you take a moment to yourself to bask in the quietness of the house. The fire station was fairly empty at the moment, with it being morning and all. The only person seemingly out is Eddie, who’s cleaning the firetruck.
You smirk to yourself as you approach him, "What’s cookin’ good lookin’?” You call out, before leaning up against the side of the firetruck.
Eddie, who’s focused on his work, seems to pause for a second at your voice, before realizing it’s you. He looks over, shaking his head with a small scoff, his annoyance not being genuine.
"That’ll never get old to you, will it?"
You smile up at him, crossing your arms as you lean your head on the truck.
“Of course not; Nothing wrong with a little harmless flirting, Eds." You chuckle to yourself as you begin to admire his appearance, watching the way his muscles flex as he works on polishing the firetruck.
As you call him by the nickname you’ve picked up from Buck, he once again pauses, this time fully turning to look at you.
"Harmless for you maybe, I’m the one who has to actually deal with it."
You tilt your head to the side as you shrug, your grin growing larger as you continue to tease him, "Come on Eddie…I’m not that bad, am I?"
Eddie’s eyes meet your gaze as he sets down his rag, "(Y/n). You flirt with me every chance you get. I’m pretty sure that Buck, Chim, and Hen have a bet on when you’re gonna jump me."
You hum, acting oblivious as you shrug again, “And here I’d hoped I was subtle.”
“Yeah,” Eddie lets out a low chuckle, his eyes never leaving your face as he leans against the firetruck as well. "About as subtle as sirens in the dead of night."
You fake a pout, “I mean, it’s not my fault you’re insanely attractive, Eds.” You take a step closer to him, sticking your hand out as you lightly brush your fingers against his mustache.
“So, do you plan on keeping the ‘stache?”
Eddie’s eyes widen as you touch his face, the light, delicate caress sending a shiver down his spine. He sighs, keeping his eyes on yours.
“I-I don’t know.” He stutters out, the sudden proximity and the way you’re looking at him makes his breath catch in his throat for a brief moment. His gaze drops to your lips for a fraction of a second, before he clears his throat and pulls away. “Why? Don’t like it?”
Your face softens as he leans into your touch, your heart practically pounding as your eyes lock onto each other’s.
“Oh no,” You pause for a moment, letting your hand fall away as you admire his face, “I like it. A lot, actually.”
Surprise flickers in his eyes, but only for a moment. Still, you notice it. Before he can say anything else, the sound of footsteps echos from behind you guys
You turn to look behind you and see Bobby emerging from his office, a small grin on his face.
“Good morning you two. Did I interrupt something?”
“No, Cap,” Eddie instantly straightens, clearing his throat and glancing away, trying to act casual. “Just finishing up here.”
Bobby hums, seeing right through Eddie’s act, his smile growing as he turns to you. “And what about you?”
You chuckle, sending another smile in Eddie’s direction, a hint of mischief in your eyes. “Just keeping him company.”
Eddie glances back at you, eyes narrowing slightly at the look on your face. He opens up his mouth to say something but is interrupted by Bobby continuing.
“Listen, I’m gonna have you guys hang back if we get any fire calls today. Eddie, I want you to be able to show (y/n) how the ambulance works on medical calls.”
You give Bobby an affirmative nod, “Sounds good to me. Hear that Eds? Sounds like you’re gonna be stuck with me all day.”
“Great.”
Bobby chuckles again, shaking his head at the two of you as he grabs a clipboard for his office and walks back inside.
The smirk immediately reappears on your face as you take a step closer to Eddie, looking up at him with wide (e/c) eyes.
“Aw come on, don’t look so grumpy.” You give his shoulder a playful shove; trying not to let your thoughts linger on how hard his muscles feel under your touch. “You get me all to yourself, shouldn’t you be happy?”
Eddie rolls his eyes, shaking his head in mock annoyance, though he can’t help the smile that curls at the corner of his lips. “Oh, I’m ecstatic.”
You grin wider, knowing you managed to get him to smile. You give his shoulder another pat, letting your hand linger for a moment, before stepping back again. “That’ll work for me.”
You give him a wink before turning and heading in the direction of the locker room to change.
Eddie watches as you walk away, a mix of amusement and irritation playing across his features. Suddenly the sound of Buck and Chim’s voices breaks his gaze, and he quickly averts his eyes, getting back to work on cleaning the truck.
A few moments later, you reappear, now in your uniform. Leaving the top unbuttoned just enough to barely expose the skin of your chest, but still technically fall within the dress code.
You open your mouth to call out to Eddie when the station alarm suddenly starts ringing.
Eddie’s head snaps in your direction at the sound of the alarm, immediately noticing your outfit. His eyes roam over the exposed skin of your chest for just a second before averting his gaze. Buck, Chim, and Hen appear from the loft and rush past you guys to the fire truck.
Chim, Hen, and Buck are about to hop in the truck when Bobby stops them, averting his attention over at you and Eddie.
“(y/n) Eddie, dispatch said that this call was just a small structure fire, and no injuries were reported.”
You nod as you glance toward Eddie, “So you want us to stay back?”
Bobby nods, “That’s right. If we need anything though, we’ll let you know through the radio.”
Eddie lets out a small sigh, stuffing his hands in his pockets. “Got it.”
You glance over at him, your eyes lingering on his for a moment before looking back at Bobby, “We’ll be on standby then.”
Bobby nods again, patting the side of the ambulance before turning to get into the firetruck. Buck sends both you and Eddie smirks, wiggling his eyebrows as he follows Hen and Chim into the back of the truck.
Eddie ignores them, moving to lean against the back of the ambulance, crossing his arms.
The sunlight makes his brown hair almost shine. His dark brown eyes have an almost golden look. Despite having been up since the early morning, he is still somehow effortlessly attractive. His uniform shirt hugs his upper body in the most delicious way, his muscular build being noticeable through the thin fabric.
You're snapped from your daze as Bobby flips on the lights and sirens and swiftly pulls out of the station.
You let out an internal sigh as you drink in the sight of him, your head filling with thoughts of how the fabric would feel against your fingers. You had only been on the job for a few months, but you somehow already wanted to do unspeakable things to this man. You take a step closer to him, leaning on the back of the ambulance.
“What do we do now? Just…wait?”
As you step closer to him, Eddie’s head turns to you, his eyes roaming over you for a moment before he speaks. There’s a slight hint of tension in his voice, though he tries to play it off.
“Yeah.” He lets out a huff of air, his eyes darting out to the street before settling back onto you.
You hum, looking over at him and tilting your head slightly so that you’re looking at him dead on. You continue to admire him, your eyes slowly raking over his face.
“So…how long do you think they’ll be gone for?”
Eddie sighs as your gaze lands on him, your smirk already telling him that you most likely have something in mind.
“If it’s just a small fire then I’d say probably an hour and a half.”
A mischievous look fills your eyes when he says an hour and a half. You bite your lip to suppress a smile as you push yourself up off the ambulance, moving to stand directly in front of him, your bodies nearly touching.
“An hour and a half, huh? That’s an awful lot amount of time for us to be…alone.” As you speak to him, your voice has a low, almost sultry tone to it; it takes everything in him to not shiver.
He lets out a shaky breath, glancing around for a brief moment before focusing back on you and clearing his throat.
“And what do you suggest we do?”
Your smirk softens into a more suggestive smile. You reach up and brush a strand of hair out of his face, your fingers ever-so-slightly grazing his skin.
“Well, I could think of a few things.”
He lets out a quiet gasp at your touch. His muscles are coiled, and you can see the way his jaw clenches in a halfhearted attempt to stop himself from reacting.
He swallows hard, his Adam's apple bobbing visibly, "You really need to stop doing that, (y/n).”
You move even closer to him, closing the tiny amount of space that was left between your bodies. Your hand moves, instead coming up to rest on his chest, just above his heart.
"Doing what, Eddie?" You look up at him, feigning innocence as you tilt your head to the side.
He can feel your body against his, the warmth from your skin sending jolts of electricity up his spine.
He looks down at you, a look of frustration and desire in his eyes, “You know damn well what I’m talking about.”
You bite your lip, holding back a chuckle as you see the look in his eyes. You can tell he’s fighting a losing battle, slowly giving in to his desires. You brush your thumb across the logo printed on the fabric of his uniform, feeling the hammering of his heart.
“Maybe I do. Maybe I don’t.” You hum.
"(Y/n)." he mutters, his voice a low, strained warning.
His resistance just adds fuel to the fire inside you. You want to see him lose control, want him to finally give in to the obvious tension between you two. You let your hand slowly trail down his side, lingering on his hip before coming to a rest on his thigh.
“Yeah?”
Eddie's breath hitches as your hand trails down his body, his hips twitching involuntarily when you rest your hand on his thigh. He swallows hard, the feeling of your body so close to his and your hand on his skin sending a shiver through his entire body. Your breath on his face does absolutely nothing to help him.
It takes every last ounce of restraint he has to not spin you around right here and—
“Well,” you abruptly distance yourself from Eddie, a sly smile curling on your lips. “I'm starving, so I'm gonna go fix myself something to eat."
He looks at you, blinking rapidly, his mind fighting to come up with a response while you smirk at him. However, all he can manage to say is a quiet “uh”
"Have fun being all alone, Eds." you wink, before waltzing away towards the kitchen.
He lets out a frustrated huff of air, his hands clenching and unclenching at his sides. Half torn between wanting to give in to your games and wanting to just grab you and slam you against the nearest wall.
Reaching the loft, you open the fridge and pull out a small pack of bacon. Cutting it open, you plop a pan onto the stove and lay a few slices onto the hot metal.
As you wait for your food to cook, you pull out your phone. You scroll through your Twitter to pass the time; completely oblivious to Eddie’s figure sneaking behind you, until it’s too late.
“You think you’re so damn funny, huh?” His breath feels hot against your neck as he murmurs in your ear, his voice low and dangerous.
Your eyes widen slightly, but before you can muster anything his body is pressed up against your back, his arms caging you against the counter in front of you.
A chill goes down your spine as you hear his voice, low and gravelly in your ear. The feeling of his body pressed against your back makes you shiver, the combination of his words and his breath on the sensitive skin of your neck makes you go weak in the knees.
“Depends on what you think is funny.” You manage to gasp out.
"You're a tease, (y/n). A goddamn tease." He growls in your ear, his lips brushing against the sensitive skin, sending a wave of heat through your body.
A shiver runs through your body when you feel his lips press against your neck, the feeling of his teeth nipping at your skin making you let out a sharp gasp. Your head tilts to the side almost involuntarily, giving him more access to your neck.
You grip the edge of the counter in front of you, trying your best to keep yourself upright.
"Cat got your tongue, sweetheart?" Eddie mutters against your neck
You let out a shaky breath as you turn your head towards him, the look in his eyes dark and full of desire. His thumb moves from your chin to your bottom lip, gently tracing the soft skin there.
You know you should reply to him, say something clever to keep up your usual attitude, but your mind is suddenly empty of anything but him.
His teeth lightly nip at your skin. You arch your back as best you can with the way he has you pinned against the counter.
"F-fuck, Eds—"
“I'm about two seconds away from bending you over this counter, don't push your luck." Eddie grins against your neck, his lips moving to bite at the sensitive spot just behind your ear.
"You'd like that, wouldn't you, sweetheart?" He murmurs, his voice low and full of desire. "Bent over the counter for anyone to see."
"Eddie, I-You can’t—" You gasp out, your back arching farther into him. You can feel his body pressed up against yours, his hips grinding into your backside.
Eddie hums against your neck, his hands running down your sides until they find the edge of your shirt, slipping underneath and trailing up your stomach. His touch sends jolts of electricity through you.
"Is this what you wanted, sweetheart? You wanted to drive me crazy, to have me lose control?" His breath fans against your skin.
Eddie's words make your head spin as your body responds almost instantly.
"It worked though, didn’t it?”
Before you can even realize what’s happening, Eddie’s spinning you around and bending you over the kitchen island so that you're facing the entrance of the station.
The feeling of his hips pressing against your backside makes a full-on moan escape your lips, his body heat almost overwhelming.
“Voy a hacerte comer esas palabras, princesa.” He growls into your ear.
Jesus Christ.
His Spanish makes your head spin, the low, sultry tone of his voice as he murmurs the words into your ear nearly sending you over the edge. You feel him press up against you, his hips rolling into you, the feeling of his growing arousal against your backside making a shudder go through your body.
You let out another moan, his name on your lips between gasps for air, “Oh my god.”
"You never know when to quit, do you?" He mutters against the back of your neck, his lips delicately trailing kisses down your spine.
You whimper at his touch, your body responding to him as if he's a drug and you're hopelessly addicted.
"It’s like you enjoy being a little minx, huh? Teasing me all day, getting me all bothered.”
Your mind is hazy, your thoughts consumed by the feeling of his lips on your skin, the sound of his voice in your ear, the touch of his hands on your hips.
"F-fuck,” you stutter out before biting down on your lip, trying to hold back another moan.
He rolls his hips into yours again, his body grinding against yours.
The friction from his hips against your clothed core has you gasping again, your hands gripping the edge of the counter for support. You feel like you're on fire, your entire body thrumming with heat and desire, and all you can think about is him.
“Eddie, please...” you gasp out, your head spinning from the combination of his touch and the sound of his voice in your ear.
Then suddenly, you feel him shuffle behind you. Confused, you crane your neck over your shoulder only to see him grabbing your phone. He leans back over your shoulder, bringing your phone up and holding it to your face. You can barely focus on the screen, your eyes unfocused and dazed.
"Unlock it."
You blink, the request taking a moment to register in your foggy mind. Still, you unlock your phone with shaky hands, managing to type in your passcode through your daze. You don’t know what he’s planning, but at this point, you’re so far gone you don’t even care.
He opens the camera app on your phone before propping it up a few inches in front of you; it perfectly captures the two of you.
“Good girl,” he whispers, his voice low in your ear. “Now let’s see just how much you regret your little game.”
Your eyes grow wide when you comprehend what he’s doing. The thought of it has you suddenly even more turned on. He hits the record button and roughly tugs down your tight uniform bottoms and sinks to his knees.
Your breath hitches at his actions. You can see yourself on the phone screen, your face flushed, your (e/c) eyes darkened with lust, your hair already slightly messy from the way he had you pinned down against the counter.
You try to turn around to look at him, but his hand finds the back of your head, "Keep your eyes on the camera, carñio."
Your breath catches in your throat at the pet name. You'd never seen this dominant side of Eddie, not to this extent at least.
"Y'know, you didn't even ask me if I wanted anything to eat."
Your mind is a hazy mess, your eyes half-lidded as you keep them focused on the camera. You’re at his mercy, and you find that you don’t mind it one bit.
You let out a gasp as you feel his hands move up your thighs, nearing where you need him the most, your breathing stuttering and your body shaking with anticipation.
“But that’s okay,” he continues, “I think I’ve found something much better to eat.”
You hear his words, but you’re too caught up in the feeling of his touch to process them, your mind still trying to regain some lucidity as his hands move even farther up your thighs, just barely grazing the lacy hem of your (f/c) underwear.
“God, you’re beautiful, sweetheart.” He murmurs, voice low and full of need. His hands grip the skin of your thighs, his touch slightly rough.
“And look at that, you’re soaking through your panties, carñio.” Carefully, he drags your underwear to the side, exposing your soaking folds to the cool air.
The feeling of his hands as they slide your underwear to the side has you trembling, your legs shaking as you try to keep yourself upright. You feel him sink to his knees behind you, his breath fanning against your skin, the proximity of his face to the core of your being has you clenching your teeth.
You can’t see his face, but you can feel his presence, and the anticipation is nearly enough to make you cry out.
Eddie runs his hands up your thighs, his touch firm and sure. Then, you feel his hands grip your hips, his fingers digging into your flesh. You shiver, your body growing hot in anticipation.
You can’t help but gasp as he lets his tongue run up your thigh, so close to where you need him most.
"I swear to g-god, Eddie. If you don't do-" Your words fail you as his tongue slowly breaches your wetness. He holds your hips steady as his tongue dips deeper, just barely breaching your slit.
"M-Motherfuck—" You moan out, your voice growing louder from the sudden pleasure.
Eddie pulls away from your folds with an obnoxiously dramatic pop, "You gotta stay quiet, princesa. Don't want the team to come back and hear these pretty noises, do we?"
You bite down on your lip again, trying to restrain your moans. But it's practically impossible with the way he's slowly teasing you.
"Y-you're being mean." You say, your words coming out shaky from your attempts to stay quiet. You can feel your clit throbbing with desperation.
"Mean?" He mutters, his breath fanning against your skin. "Me? Not at all. I'm being...very generous."
At an agonizing pace, he slides his fingers through your wetness, just missing your sensitive bud before bringing his fingers to his lips, his tongue licking around the digits.
"You taste so sweet...como el cielo.”
You let out a strangled whimper, your body begging for more as his hands continue to wander. He presses a kiss against your clit, the friction of his mustache making your eyes roll back.
“Please,” you gasp out, your voice just above a whisper. “Please, please, please…”
Eddie hums at your words, letting his tongue just barely brush against your sensitive bud. You swiftly cup your hand over your mouth to muffle your noises.
You look absolutely debauched as you catch sight of yourself in the camera. Your hair is falling in messy wisps across your forehead, uniform bunched around your hips, face flushed, and eyes darkened with lust; The sight of yourself only serves to heighten your arousal. Before you can say anything, you feel two of Eddie's thick fingers press into you, drawing a high-pitched whine from the back of your throat.
"F-fuck—" You bite down on your hand to keep yourself quiet. "More, Eddie—Now."
“Bossy little thing,” He growls as you speak, his fingers curling inside you. “You're not the one in charge here.” he gives a harsh suck against your soaking folds.
You glance at the camera, still recording the two of you. Eddie’s right; and that made something in your stomach turn violently.
You grip the counter, your fingers clenching and unclenching at the edge. You let out another moan, your eyes squeezing shut from the immense amount of sensation.
“So beautiful like this, sweetheart,” he mutters, his words partially muffled against your skin. “Aching and dripping for me. All mine.”
He curls his fingers again, pushing into the spot that makes you cry out, and you barely manage to muffle your cries against your hand.
“God, you’re so loud.”
"Eddie! P-please, please! M’sorry for earlier." You slur deliriously with pleasure, eyes brimmed with hot tears.
He can practically taste the desperation in your voice, feel the tension rippling through your body as he pumps his fingers inside you. He pulls away, standing and smirking, watching as your walls flutter around nothing.
“Are you?”
You nod eagerly, your head hazy with lust, but your mind is just lucid enough to know that your answer will have an effect.
“Yes—” you gasp out, your breathing heavy. “I’m so sorry! Please, Eddie, I’m sorry. I promise I won’t tease you anymore, just please!”
Eddie hums, low and satisfied. He runs his hands up your thighs, watching as they shake in his grip.
“We both know that's a lie, cariño.” He says, his tone slightly mocking. He leans in closer to you until his mouth is right by your ear.
“You know what they say, cariño. Payback’s a bitch.” He gives your shoulder one last teasing bite before dropping back to his knees.
Your mind is still reeling from his words, trying to catch up with the events that just took place. But that all quickly changes the moment you feel his tongue thrust into your soaked slit; replacing where his fingers had previously been.
You wail in delight. Your eyes clench tight once more as Eddie lets out a deep moan from behind you, your sweet taste flooding his tastebuds once again.
He grips your hips to keep you from moving too much, his mouth working you with a newfound fervor as you struggle to keep yourself upright.
"Jesus…just a little more, m'so close—"
This only serves to ignite Eddie. Hearing you admit how close you are, all because of him. The way you’re now falling apart at his touch makes him growl against your skin; the vibrations almost send you over the edge.
He reaches around, harshly rubbing at your sensitive bud as he pulls his mouth away, "Fuck, best meal I've ever had..."
“Oh god—“ You try to choke out, but the words quickly devolve into another whine. “Please, E-Eddie, I’m gonna—”
And right at that moment, a loud, familiar sound fills your and Eddie’s ears; the sound of the firetruck pulling up outside.
"Oh shit." You mutter, your (e/c) eyes growing wide. You glance back at Eddie, your breath catches at the sight of his face.
Eddie’s pupils are blown wide, his face red and sweaty, hair sticking to his forehead. He gives another shaky breath before his eyes lock onto the camera still pointing at your form. For a moment, he considers stopping the recording, but...
Maybe it’s the way you look, all breathless and needy. Or how your uniform is pulled down, completely exposing your bottom half. All Eddie knows, at this moment, is that you two can’t stop.
“Eddie, W-We can’t—“
“We can.” Eddie says, his voice firm.
He reaches out, grabs the camera from the island, and holds it inches from your face, his voice still firm.
“You see this? You see what you look like all flushed and whiny, princess?” You can hear him give a low noise, his voice slightly shaky. "tan hermosa, tan perfecta, toda mía."
You spare one last look over your shoulder to Eddie. His chin is practically dripping with your juices, his lips red and swollen.
His dark brown eyes meet yours. As you open your mouth to speak, he suddenly dives right back in. Going to work with a newfound vigor.
You feel your hips arch slightly against his mouth, your legs shaking and your breathing coming out in quick gasps. You clench your teeth, trying to keep yourself from crying out.
Your hands, which had been gripping the counter, quickly move to cover your mouth, trying to muffle your series of pathetic whines.
You bite down on your hand, as hard as you can to keep from moaning, but the more you hear your teammates' voices, the harder it is to keep yourself in check.
You listen to Buck's laughter, you hear the deep rumble of Bobby's voice talking about dinner plans, you hear Hen's voice as she enters a conversation with Chimney—
All you can think about at that moment is that at any second, any one of them could walk into the kitchen and see the two of you.
Shamefully, that thought is enough to send you over the edge.
Your body feels tense as your climax washes over you, "F-fuck—E-Eddie!"
Your legs are shaking more than ever, so much so that you're sure if Eddie wasn't holding you up, you would have fallen to the ground. Wave after wave that rolls through you, Eddie’s tongue is there to accompany it.
It’s too much. Everything’s overwhelming. You’re overstimulated, your brain is fuzzy, and your body is hot. You’re sure if this continues any longer, you’ll break. The sounds of the team outside seem to fade into the background for a moment.
"Goddamn Eddie, p-please.” You can barely hear your voice over your ragged breathing.
The rest of the team's voices echo through the station, you swear you can hear footsteps coming closer to the kitchen. You feel tears pricking at the corner of your eyes as he finally lets up.
He pulls away, wiping the back of his hand against his mouth, his face flushed and sweaty. You breathe heavily, leaning forward on the counter, your body still shuddering from the aftereffects of your orgasm.
You're about to try and fix your uniform, to make yourself look at least a little presentable when suddenly, you hear footsteps clambering up the loft stairs. You panic and start to scramble to pull your pants back up and as you manage to, Eddie swiftly slinks beside you so they don't suspect anything.
You see Buck’s head of curls as he clambers up the loft stairs, "You guys cooking?" he chirps.
Before you can open your mouth to speak, Eddie pipes up.
“Yep, figured that we’d go on and get a head start on dinner.” He says, leaning casually against the counter. Y’know, his tone is surprisingly calm for a man who had just had his head buried between your legs.
Buck smiles right back, seemingly clueless to what had been going on mere seconds before.
"Alright! Lemme know when it's ready, I'm starving."
He quickly turns back around and disappears, and you let yourself breathe again. You feel Eddie's hand fall to the small of your back.
"You did so well." He whispers in your ear, his voice low and gravely. "I'm proud of you."
You give him a weak smile, trying to keep your breathing under control, but it doesn't help that every nerve ending in your body is still on fire. Everything is still so sensitive, and you can't help but shiver at the feeling of his breath on your skin.
He turns you so you're facing him, and you practically collapse into his chest. Immediately, he wraps his arms around you, pulling you close to him. You bury your face into his shoulder, inhaling the intoxicating scent of his sweat and cologne.
"Y-you're a dick, sometimes.” You mutter, still trying to calm your breathing as he steadies himself, you look down at the front of his pants and then back up to him. "Do you want me to...?"
Catching your drift, Eddie's cheeks suddenly flush with a light pink dusting.
"I uh—I a-already..." He stutters for a moment, trying to find his words.
You raise an eyebrow at his reaction, and your lips pull into a sly smile.
"Really? I didn’t even touch you.” You tease him, your finger slowly moving down his chest.
He swallows, his Adam’s Apple bobbing in his throat as your hand slowly makes its way down his chest. He looks away, his cheeks still a dusted pink as a shiver goes through him.
"Yeah well,” He stutters, "Can you blame me?”
You can't help but giggle at his response, your face splitting into a grin as you look up at him. You reach up and pat him on the cheek.
"You're cute when you get all flustered."
His blush deepens at your touch, and he lets out a huff, trying to hold on to any shred of composure he has left.
“I am not flustered, I-I don’t get flustered.” He says defensively, finally meeting your gaze.
“Really? Cause you look pretty flustered to me.” You say smugly.
"Oh, shut up, cariño." he murmurs, leaning down to press a kiss to your forehead.
You give a soft hum, "Never, Eds. I'm gonna enjoy this for as long as I can."
"I'm gonna make you eat those words later, princesa."
You raise an eyebrow at him, fighting the shiver that runs down your spine at the nickname.
"Is that a promise?" You say, leaning your body a little closer to his.
He grins down at you, a cheeky look on his face, "It's a guarantee."

Tumblr media
You’re happy to finally be home after a long day of work. Your boss has been on edge lately, meaning she had you doing far more than you’re used to. Today, you’ve been so busy and stressed, that you hadn’t noticed that your lunch is still sitting in your work fridge. Eating was at the bottom of the list of things to worry about today, even though you have type 1 diabetes, and know that skipping meals isn’t the best idea.
You notice you’re feeling a little dizzy as you start pulling things out of the fridge to make dinner, but you ignore it, not even thinking about why. All you’re focused on is that Eddie and Christopher will be home soon, and you know they’ll be hungry.
You smile when you hear the front door open and the small laugh coming from Christopher as Eddie talks to him. You hear their footsteps coming into the kitchen, and you turn from what you’re doing for a moment to greet them, smiling widely at Chris.
You had fallen in love with Christopher as soon as Eddie introduced you to him, and he’s been so welcoming to you. You were a little surprised at how easily he accepted that you were moving in with them, but you didn’t want to question it.
Eddie comes up to you and puts a hand on your soft waist as he gives you a quick kiss, mumbling a greeting against your lips. You smile at him before you turn back to the dinner you’re preparing, swatting his hand playfully as he reaches for a piece of pepper you had cut.
As you listen to him talk about his day, you begin to feel dizzy again, but continue trying to ignore it, nodding as you try to focus on his deep voice. You feel yourself start to sweat, and your hands are shaking ever so slightly, but you’re so focused on dinner and Eddie that it doesn’t click.
The way you’re gripping the counter every now and then doesn’t get past Eddie, and he furrows his brows as he studies you. He keeps his eyes trained on your movements as he continues his story, not wanting you to pick up on his inspection of your actions because he knows you’ll brush him off.
He’s by your side immediately with one hand on your plush tummy and the other on your upper back when you blink slowly and start to sway gently.
“Are you okay, baby?” he asks, worry etched on his face. He’s seen you like this before when your blood sugar is low, so he thinks he knows exactly what’s going on. He’s met with a small nod as you regain your balance, continuing to prepare dinner.
“Is your blood sugar low?” he asks you, getting slightly upset that you’re not taking proper care of yourself. As he speaks, everything suddenly clicks in your brain; you forgot to eat today. He sees the realization on your face and he sighs, slowly leading you to the kitchen table and guiding you gently down into a chair.
“Baby, when’s the last time you ate?” he asks you softly as he kneels down in front of you, his eyes softening as you look down at him with an apologetic look.
“Breakfast.” you mumble, beginning to feel really bad as you see the look on his face. You aren’t trying to worry him, you just want to be truthful with him. He’d figure it out if you weren’t, and lying to him would make you feel worse.
He sighs and gets up, going to the fridge and getting you a cup of orange juice.
“Drink this. I’ll finish dinner while you sit here.” You’re about to tell him that you can finish dinner, but you change your mind before you can get a word out. You realize it’s probably a good idea, and you know he wouldn’t let you lift a finger regardless. You nod, sighing as you pick up the cup, taking a small drink.
“More.” he says once he hears the bottom of the cup hit the table. His back is turned as he makes dinner, but he knows that you aren’t holding the cup long enough to drink an acceptable amount of orange juice. You laugh softly, finding it funny that he knows you so well, and raise the cup back up to your lips, taking a bigger drink of it.
He hums happily as he hears you move, and quickly finishes dinner. He keeps an eye on you as you keep him company, and asks you why you didn’t eat today. You explain to him how much stress you’re under at work, and he can’t help the frown that takes over your face.
“Honey, you’ve gotta eat. I don’t care about what your boss needs you to do. I don’t want you passing out on me.” he tells you, his tone slightly joking as he finishes. You hum softly, nodding. You know he’s right, but you honestly didn’t mean for this to happen.
“I know, I’m sorry. I forgot. I promise I’ll try not to let it happen again.” He smiles at your reassurance, and nods while he places dinner on the table. He calls Christopher, and you all sit down for dinner.
Christopher tells you about his day as you eat, and you laugh every now and then at his words. Once you’re done eating, Christopher is quick to leave the table, saying something about playing a video game with his friends as he goes, which makes you smile.
Eddie clears the table and loads the dishwasher, and once he’s done, he urges you to the bedroom to change.
“We’re gonna sit on the couch and watch a movie. I don’t want you doing much.” he tells you sternly. You’ve learned how stubborn he is, so you don’t put up a fight, instead getting on some comfy clothes and letting Eddie lead you to the couch once you’re both changed.
He sits down beside you on the couch, and turns on the movie you requested. It’s a series of movies, which he thinks is perfect, as he can entice you to watch the second and possibly even the third one tonight too. He wants to keep you close, allowing him to check on you whenever he wants.
He puts his arm on the back of the couch behind you, smiling softly as you lean against him and rest your cheek on his chest. You love how attentive he is towards you, and you think this is your favourite way to spend the night with him. You’re not all that worried about how you’re feeling; you’ve lived with it far longer than Eddie has, but you appreciate how worried he gets. It proves to you that he cares for you, even if you feel bad for how nervous he gets sometimes.
Just as the movie starts, he whispers in your ear to sit up. You oblige with a confused look on your face, brows furrowed as he gets up from the couch. He walks into the hallway, and you wait quietly, only half paying attention to the first few minutes of the movie as you hear him shuffling around the kitchen.
He comes back into the living room with some more juice, and a little plate of various snacks, giving you a small smile as he sets them down on the table. He settles back into his spot, and then puts a hand on the side of your head, gently ushering you to put your head back on his chest.
You obey his silent command and lay back against him, one arm making its way over his torso as you snuggle into his chest, practically feeling the love radiating off of him.
“You don’t need to eat all of this now, but I want it all gone by the time the movie is over.” he tells you firmly, but there’s still a soft edge to his tone as he looks down at the top of your head. He smiles when you nod and hum softly, and he leans down to kiss the top of your head before he turns his attention to the movie.
“I’m okay.” you whisper after a moment, turning your head to look up at him. He gives you a “really?” look as he meets your gaze, raising his hand and rubbing your cheek gently.
“I’m just making sure, honey. I gotta make sure my girl’s okay.” he tells you softly. You lower your gaze, nuzzling your head back into his chest as his arm makes its way from the back of the couch to your shoulders, squeezing them lightly.
“I already had dinner, I really don’t need all this.” you whisper, trying to focus on the movie. You know if you don’t pay attention now, the rest of the movie probably won’t make any sense.
“You’re at least gonna drink the rest of that juice, deal?” He grabs your chin and brings your face back up so you’re looking in his eyes. You nod in his grip, raising your head to kiss him. He smiles into the kiss, chasing your lips as you pull away.
“Let’s focus on the movie. Don’t want you asking questions the whole time because you weren’t paying attention.” you tease as you refocus on the movie. You’re met with a scoff as he rolls his eyes.
“Ha ha.” he says sarcastically, but he doesn’t argue any further. He focuses on the movie, and grabs your phone on the table, checking your dexcom app every few minutes, making sure your blood sugar is rising as it’s supposed to.
He’s not sure when you fell asleep. He knows you were awake when the first movie ended, but he’s met with silence as he makes a joke about the main character around halfway through the second movie.
He opens your dexcom app quickly, sighing in relief once he sees that your blood sugar has increased. It’s still not exactly where it should be, but it’s a good sign. He lowers the tv volume, continuing to watch the movie, but he’s more focused on your steady breathing. He rubs his thumb across your shoulder softly, trying not to wake you, but he can’t help wanting his hands on you.
Once the second movie is over, he still doesn’t want to wake you. He’s content sitting here with you, and he wants you to rest after your stressful day of work. He decides to lay back and close his eyes, deciding to let you sleep for a little while longer before he wakes you up to go to bed.
He keeps his eyes closed for a few minutes, but he can’t seem to get to sleep. He’s still worried about you, even though your blood sugar is returning to normal. You drank the rest of the juice he set out for you, and you even ate a few of the snacks he brought out, but he couldn’t help the nervousness eating at him. He keeps your phone in his hand, checking your app every now and then while he watches whatever is playing on tv.
As he watches over you, feeling you moving slightly as you breathe in and out, he’s filled with so much love for you. He already knew, but he knows for sure now that he would do anything to make sure you’re okay. To make sure you stay with him forever.

Eddie Diaz Masterlist
Summary: When (Y/n) drops Chris off at school, she has a very bad interaction with one of the parents at school. So the next day, Eddie goes to have a 'polite chat' and sort things out.
Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Lifting her head, (Y/n) glanced in the rear-view mirror to get a glimpse of the carrier behind her. It almost didn't feel real to be looking back at the carrier and seeing her baby sleeping soundly in the back seat. (Y/n) had spent the last year wondering what it would be like when her baby was here. She and Eddie had been preparing and talking and constantly thinking this over, and now, it didn't seem real.
It almost felt like a dream when (Y/n) thought back to being at the station's Christmas party when her water broke. She had been so worried that she would be in hospital on Christmas day and ruin the plans and the day for Chris. Luck had been on their side that Cindy had been born on Christmas Eve and when Chris woke up Christmas morning, he was thrilled to find (Y/n) and his new baby sister sat waiting for him in the living room.
When she looked to her right, she caught Chris grinning up at her with that cheesy smile that always made her heart melt. For almost two years since (Y/n) married Eddie, she had been a mum to Chris and felt like she had a child, she had taken him on as her own. And now she had two kids.
It felt good to be driving Chris to school again. During the summer when the weather was scorching and they had the time, (Y/n) would walk Chris all the way to school. It was a good part of physio for him and it got (Y/n) out the house for longer, although she hadn't walked him to school for a while. She didn't have the energy when she had been nine months pregnant. And when Chris went back to school after Christmas break, Eddie's shifts had lined up so he could drop him off.
Soon, when Cindy was a bit more settled and the weather was nicer, (Y/n) would walk Chris to school again with Cindy in her pram.
"You've remembered uncle Buck is picking you up today, right?" (Y/n) glanced over at Chris before she looked back to the road and turned onto the next street and veered towards the school.
Buck was taking Chris to the cinema after school which meant that since Eddie was off work too, he and (Y/n) would be spending some time alone with Cindy for the day.
"Yeah, he said it's pizza for dinner."
"Oh did he, you won't have room for popcorn then."
"Yes I will!" The grin that lit up his face made (Y/n) chuckle and she watched as he started to rock back and forth, bashing his head into the headrest from both stimming and his energy levels. All day he would be thinking about when he could leave, going to the cinema was the one thing he wanted to do today and nothing else would be important to Chris.
When she pulled up outside the school, (Y/n) rolled her eyes playfully at seeing Chris was already trying to clamber out the car before she'd even turned the engine off. At least he knew to wait for her.
He grabbed his backpack and slung it on, moving to stand on the path while he waited patiently for (Y/n) to scoop Cindy out of her carrier.
She lifted the newborn up and kissed her cheek before settling her down on her chest. (Y/n) cradled the back of her bead and began gently bouncing her up and down in her arms while the nudged the door shut with her hip and began to follow after Chris. She could feel Cindy's hands tapping and bashing against her chest as the little girl started to wake up from her power nap.
"Okay, off we go."
She smiled when she felt Chris's hand loop into the crook of her elbow and he glued himself up into her side as they walked down the path towards the school gates.
It was good to see familiar faces again and (Y/n) smiled as much as she felt able before she tilted her head down and pressed her lips to the top of her daughter's head. She hadn't been out very much since having Cindy, she had been spending time at home getting into routines and being with her boys. But it was time to start getting out a bit more, (Y/n) knew that and she felt ready to be venturing out with Cindy now.
"Alright baby, have a good day and have fun with uncle Buck later." Adjusting Cindy in her right arm, (Y/n) turned to face Chris and looped her arm around him. She leaned down to kiss the top of his head while he meshed himself into her side and cuddled into her.
She felt Chris murmuring "Love you," into her chest and it made her heart warm and melt like butter.
"Love you too."
When Chris unravelled his arms from around (Y/n)'s waist, he tilted his head back and smiled up at his little sister who was starting to liven up. Her little eyes were turning as wide as saucers and her lips were forming into a perfect pout as she looked around her new environment with shock and wonder.
Reaching up, he gently took his sister's little hand that was clenched into a fist and started to sway their hands back and forth for a few seconds. Chris had taken to the big brother role almost immediately. He didn't like it when Cindy cried, but he loved to sit and hold her when she was settled. He was the same as Eddie in the fact that he would hold her for hours if she was content to do so.
Eddie spent most of his evenings off laid with Cindy curled up on his bare chest.
Chris whispered a soft "Bye Cindy-Lou," before he let go of her hand and pulled away from them both. It had been Chris's idea to name her Cindy because she was born right before Christmas, and he had an obsession with The Grinch.
(Y/n) stayed in the playground for a few moments until she watched Chris toddle off inside and she knew he was alright. Her thumb began to glide across the back of Cindy's head while she turned around and slowly headed back towards the gates.
She nodded and smiled at some of the parents she knew, the ones who she had met when dropping or picking Chris up from his friends houses when he went round for tea sometimes. But she didn't stop to chat to any of them, (Y/n) wasn't in the mood for talking and they were all busy dropping their kids off anyway, much to her relief.
She began to hum against the top of Cindy's head as she headed out the gates and aimed for the car. She would probably head on a drive before she went back home, it would settle the newborn and Eddie would be out on his run at the moment so there was no need to rush back.
"Shall we go for a drive?" She mumbled into Cindy's temple and gently nudged her up and down against her chest as she approached the car.
The small gurgle she got in response was good enough for (Y/n) and she smiled as she carefully opened the back door and leaned forward to ease Cindy into her carrier. It was pretty clear who had gotten the two-month-old dressed this morning, considering she was wearing a Minnie Mouse onesie and a pink bow headband.
(Y/n) was rather surprised Eddie hadn't put Cindy in the dark pink dress he usually dressed her in because it said 'daddy's princess' across the front. Or the dark blue romper which said 'daddy's little helper' which he had put her in to take her to the station for the first time last week.
She was going to be a daddy's girl and have Eddie wrapped around her little finger, (Y/n) could see it already.
"Has daddy made you look pretty today?"
It was almost as if Cindy could understand her because her small fist moved to brush against the headband she wore and (Y/n) nodded with a creased smile.
"He has, hm?" She cooed, catching Cindy's hand when her arms started to flail around in front of her. She pressed a few dozen kisses to the back of her daughter's hand, loving the little gummy smile she got in response.
Her hip slanted against the seat as she leaned forward, muttering a quiet "Come here," as she gently caught Cindy's hands and weaved her arms into the straps so she could buckle her in safely. She pressed a few kisses to her temple and cheeks to watch her baby squirm and smile in that cute way which enamoured anyone who looked at her.
But the tender look on (Y/n)'s face started to morph when she heard a new voice behind her.
"Hi."
(Y/n) turned away from Cindy and straightened up so she was no longer leaning in the car, but the smile on her face began to fade when she realised who was now stood next to her on the pavement.
Ray. He was one of the dads, his two boys were a few years older than Chris which thankfully meant that (Y/n) and Eddie didn't have to talk to him very often or deal with him.
This was the guy Eddie didn't get along with.
"Hello." (Y/n) feigned her best smile and and nodded towards him, wondering what he wanted.
It was safe to say that Eddie really, really didn't like Ray. The pair of them had come to blows more than once and a few other parents had to get involved once when Eddie almost smacked him.
Eddie had never been sure what he had done to make Ray dislike him in the first place, but whenever they saw one another, Ray always had something to say. The main thing he commented on was that he thought Eddie was older- or more to the point, too old, to be with (Y/n). There were ten years separating Eddie and (Y/n) which by normal standards, wasn't anything horrific or wrong. It was almost typical.
And their difference in age didn't mean anything, it wasn't a factor that ever got in the way or something they argued about. But Ray seemed to like to comment that Eddie was too old for (Y/n) or that he had a 'teen bride' which was the comment Eddie had tried to throw fists about.
There was always something Ray tried to comment on and it always riled Eddie up the wrong way. Whenever Eddie dropped Chris at school he treated it as a mission, get Chris in and then run back out to the car so he didn't have to interact with anyone or bump into Ray.
It wasn't often that (Y/n) talked to Ray, she barely knew him to say hello to, she only knew to avoid him because Eddie had talked about him before and pointed him out to her.
"I haven't seen you for a while, you're looking good." Ray had one hand stuffed into his trouser pocket but he reached his free hand out to rest on the roof of (Y/n)'s car which made her uncomfortable for a start.
She eyed him curiously, wondering where he was trying to go with this conversation and what his point was. There was clearly a reason he had come over here to talk to her even if (Y/n) didn't really want to interact with him, it seemed that she didn't have much of a choice.
(Y/n) nodded despite her uncomfortableness and the smile started to fade from her lips while she motioned to Cindy in the carrier. "I've been busy, with the baby."
Her defences went on guard when Ray hummed and leaned forward to get a look at Cindy. He didn't seem all that interested in her but (Y/n) didn't want him getting too close to her baby.
The way he tapped his hand against the roof of the car made (Y/n) want to frown, it almost felt like she had called him over here and he thought she was wasting his time. But when he looked back at her, (Y/n) couldn't help but step back until she was leaning into the car door and shivers coursed up and down her spine.
His smile was unsettling and the way Ray shifted his hand from his pocket to drag his fingers across his salt and pepper stubble made (Y/n) hold her breath and turn her head away.
"She's cute. So, where are you headed now? If you're not busy you could always come for a drink with me."
Oh. So that was why he had come over here.
He thought he could try and ask her out for a drink. That notion caused (Y/n) to frown and she glanced him up and down with confusion clearly written across her face.
Was he trying to trick her? Was this some kind of game or a joke that he and some of the other parents had come up with? If (Y/n) said yes were they going to laugh and say they were just winding her up to see if she would take the bait?
Ray had argued with Eddie on almost every occasion that they bumped into each other when dropping the kids off. He knew she was Eddie's wife, he had to. That was one of the things he used to rile Eddie up. So why ask (Y/n) out?
It seemed pretty clear to (Y/n) that if she had just had a baby, then she wouldn't want to go out with someone for a drink. She was married to Eddie and their relationship was clearly on solid ground, considering that they had just welcomed a daughter together. She wasn't about to go off for a drink or a date with another man. Eddie was all she'd ever want and need.
"Oh, I don't know what my husband would have to say about that." She did her best to smile and huff as if this was a mere joke between friends.
And when she turned a little, she raised her left hand and flashed the engagement ring and wedding band on her fourth finger. She was married and she certainly wasn't the type to go around dating other men behind her husband's back.
Besides, Ray was older; a lot older than (Y/n). She was sure she heard him talking to some of the other parents, he was nearing fifty. (Y/n) didn't want to be dating a divorced older man who seemed more of a creep than a gentleman.
At least with Eddie he was only ten years older than her, there were much bigger age gaps out there and Eddie wasn't old, nor was (Y/n) too young. She was the happiest she had ever been with Eddie and Chris in her life and now Cindy. This was her family and she didn't want or need Ray coming along trying to tease or get in the way.
"Well I don't see him around, do you?" Ray scratched his hand along the back of his neck while he leaned in close to (Y/n) and motioned his hand around to imply that Eddie wasn't here.
And in his opinion, none of the other parents were going to care if the pair of them left together. It seemed perfectly fine and agreeable in Ray's mind for (Y/n) to come out with him for a drink. Although (Y/n) did wonder what he thought she was going to do with Cindy. Whether he thought it was okay to bring her along or he expected her to drop her daughter with someone and then go out with him. His mind clearly worked in a strange way.
"That's because he's at home… where I'm now taking our daughter." (Y/n) feebly pointed towards Cindy again before she turned her back on Ray, hoping he would take the hint.
Eddie was going to be home from his morning run soon and (Y/n) wanted to get as far away from this situation as possible. She wanted to take Cindy back home, she didn't care about taking her on a longer drive anymore, she just wanted to get back to Eddie. Where she felt safe.
She leaned forward and strapped the seatbelt around the carrier to clip it back in place properly but she almost groaned when she heard Ray. He was still beside her. It felt like he had moved even closer. Just great.
"Motherhood's done you some good."
It seemed best to ignore that comment and tell Ray to make himself scarce, but (Y/n) didn't get the chance.
Her body froze and her heart lurched up into her throat when she felt a hand suddenly grab her bum.
When Ray muttered "A much better shape," and leaned over her, (Y/n) frantically rammed her elbow behind her until she winded him in the abdomen and he stumbled back. She spun around and stumbled against the car door which she used to steady herself as her wide eyes brimmed with panic and focused on watching the older man with a growing sense of fear.
What the Hell did he think he was doing? (Y/n) hadn't done anything to give him the impression she wanted him to touch her in any kind of way, especially not like that. She didn't want to be grabbed or touched by anyone who wasn't her husband. She thought she had made that crystal clear.
She saw his hand moving and she dreaded the thought of what he was going to do or exactly where he was going to try and touch her this time. So she didn't give him the chance. (Y/n) slammed her palm into his chest and shoved him back until he was tripping over his feet on the pavement.
"Do that again and you'll lose that hand. Leave me alone." She tried her best not to let any fear mingle in with her voice but her tone wavered and her eyes were already glossing over with tears.
Her shaking hands slammed the door shut and she wasted no more time, scrambling into the drivers seat where she could click the door lock button. Just in case Ray thought he could try and open the door and do something to change her mind or intimidate her.
She wanted to go home. She needed Eddie.
(Y/n) couldn't stop the way her fingers frantically began to tap against the steering wheel as she drove home. She was practically vibrating and shaking in her seat to the point driving was becoming a hard task rather than something she did on autopilot.
Her eyes kept scanning the rear view mirror to check on Cindy, making sure the newborn was settled and on her way off to sleep again. She was none the wiser to what had happened and thankfully not unsettled in the slightest, which was more than could be said for (Y/n).
The shaking seemed to subside by the time (Y/n) pulled up in the drive, but she could still feel the adrenaline coursing through her veins like fire in her blood, and it was unsettling. Her stomach was churning, her heart was pounding and her fingers were twitching at her sides.
She should have done something more than simply elbowing Ray. She should have turned around and made a scene. Rammed her fist into his nose. Shouted at him in front of the other parents. Looked to see if anyone noticed. She should have done something more.
Insulting words, ideas of what she could have done, visions of Ray skulking off humiliated, everything rolled around in (Y/n)'s head like a video tape while she climbed out the car and scooped Cindy up from her carrier.
Another round of tears were building up in (Y/n)'s eyes and she didn't even know why.
Her lips attached to Cindy's temple as she headed inside and wandered down the hall towards the bedroom. She rocked and bounced her daughter in her arms for a few moments, making sure she was truly settled and on her way to sleep before she dared to lay Cindy down in the crib attached to the side of the bed. She could use a nap before she would be ready for her next bottle.
(Y/n) barely finished settling her down in the crib she was leant over before a pair of arms took her by surprise and made her shudder.
She stayed put stood at the side of the bed, hands on the edge of the crib and her head angled to the left when Eddie glued himself up behind her. (Y/n) wondered for a moment or two if Eddie had been home when she got in and she simply hadn't noticed. But when she felt the harsh rise and fall of his chest pressing against her back and the deep, laboured breaths he was taking against her neck, she guessed he had just come back from his run seconds after she got in.
Added with his damp hair tickling her cheek and the sweat glistening and sticking on his skin, (Y/n) knew for sure that Eddie had just gotten back.
"Hola hermosa," His words tickled against her neck and the feeling of his teeth grazing against her skin made (Y/n) shiver.
Eddie tightened his arms around her waist and tilted his head so he could kiss her cheek, but his eyes narrowed slightly when (Y/n) didn't say or react to him. He felt her hands move from the crib to hold onto his wrists rather ferociously like she wanted to ensure that he wasn't going to get he go all of a sudden, but that was the only reaction he got.
He didn't earn a smile or her head properly turning in his direction, she didn't hum or speak or even turn around to face him.
His nose nudged her cheek and his thumb began to glide up and down her waist but he could feel his internal panic multiplying when (Y/n) continued to stay silent. And he could feel just how tense she was, like she thought relaxing even a fraction of her body would cause her to break into a million pieces.
"Something wrong?"
Again, he waited for (Y/n) to say something and clue him in to what might be happening or wrong here. He tried to look over her shoulder just to triple check on Cindy, but like he suspected, their girl was sound asleep and settled in front of them in the cot.
He waited patiently when (Y/n) finally began to move in front of him and he loosened his arms around her middle, but (Y/n) didn't move very far. She barely turned around in his arms before she looped her arms around the back of Eddie's neck and leaned into him. He felt the way she sighed as she burrowed her face into the crook of his neck and leaned against his chest to the point Eddie had to tilt back and stop (Y/n) from toppling them both to the ground.
"Baby what's wrong?" He was starting to get worried now. Eddie didn't usually get this kind of response from (Y/n) and he knew her like the back of his hand. He could tell something wasn't right but he had no idea what it was. She had seemed fine this morning before he went out on his run.
With a deep breath, Eddie pressed a kiss to the side of her temple before he moved one hand up to cup the side of her face. His thumb brushed across her cheek and he gently tilted (Y/n)'s head back so she was no longer tucked away against his neck. Allowing him to look down at her properly, he needed to see her to talk to her properly and find out what was wrong.
His thumb continued to glide across her cheek while (Y/n) leaned into his touch and locked her eyes on his parted red lips that had taken up her attention.
"I bumped into one of the dads at school today, Ray." (Y/n) found her eyes zooming in on Eddie's lips while she spoke and she watched them part so he could groan.
His eyes rolled and a grimace crossed his face at the mention of that particular person.
She watched the way his breathing finally seemed to mellow out now that he was no longer running loops around the block. And (Y/n) took in the way Eddie's black vest was sticking to his chest like a second layer of skin, despite the droplets of sweat glistening in the morning sunlight.
She could feel his hand flexing and twitching against her lower back like he was doing his best not to scrunch up her shirt or start fiddling out of anxious habit.
"He's a prick, that's the one who started asking how old I was compared to how 'young my wife is' but he's bloody older than me. He went to say something about Chris last time until I mentioned I was in the army, that shut him up. What'd he want this time?"
Eddie moved both hands back down to (Y/n)'s waist, settling them on her hips as he angled his head to one side to look down at her. He didn't want to imagine what Ray had tried to talk to her about today. Probably something insulting, knowing him.
Eddie wasn't sure what exactly started it, but Ray seemed to have a vendetta against him. He was always making jibes and going out of his way to irritate Eddie whenever they bumped into each other on the school run.
He had a thing for commenting on the fact that (Y/n) was and clearly looked a lot younger than Eddie. He'd go around asking Eddie how he managed to 'pull a girl like that' and comment that she was too young to step into the role of being Chris's mum.
Many times Eddie had come close to lashing out at him there in the school yard and he'd had more than a few choice words with him dozens of times. But he hadn't known Ray to approach (Y/n) very often and talk or argue with her. He dreaded to think what Ray might have tried to argue or lecture (Y/n) about.
"He asked me out for a drink, and said motherhood looked good on me… then he- he grabbed my bum."
It seemed to take Eddie a moment or two to take in what (Y/n) said and she felt him tense when he finally seemed to realise what she'd implied. She felt his hands tighten on her hips and she lifted her head just in time to see Eddie's eyes narrow and his lips part in shock.
"What?" The gritty tone in Eddie's voice made (Y/n)'s stomach clench and she saw the fury bubbling over in his eyes.
when he stepped back, (Y/n) feared for a second that he was going to walk away from her or even walk out the door in this angered state. But he seemed to have stepped back so he could look down at her better which gave (Y/n) a good view of the fury taking hold over Eddie. And she felt like melting on the spot when Eddie's hand held her chin and kept their gazes interlocked when he could sense that (Y/n) was about to look away.
"He touched you?!"
(Y/n) could see his chest rising and falling harshly again like he had been on another two mile run when she meekly nodded to his outburst. "Right in front of everyone. I told him to back off but- I don't know, he frightened me."
Her hands slid up Eddie's arms until she was holding onto his shoulders and she gently nudged him back until he took the hint and started walking backwards towards the door. Listening when she muttered "Don't wake the baby."
The last thing they needed was to wake up Cindy and have to re-settle her again before they could continue this conversation.
Eddie let her walk him towards the door, still keeping one hand deadlocked around her hip as if to make sure that she was following along with him. But once they were out in the hallway, Eddie was holding her chin again and lifting her head so they were looking at one another.
"He didn't do anything else?" There was a wary look in Eddie's eyes, like he wasn't sure he actually wanted to ask or to know the answer. He wouldn't be able to control his anger if (Y/n) told him that Ray had tried any other stunts or had gone as far as to hurt her in trying to make advances and passes at her.
"He didn't get chance, I drove off."
"Well he's not getting another fucking chance to go near you again."
(Y/n) wasn't sure what to make of that statement because she could see the violent look swirling around in Eddie's eyes and the way his lips formed into a tight grimace and how tense he was holding himself told her he was close to exploding.
She gingerly looped her arms around his neck and pushed away from the wall so she was leaning into Eddie's chest. She didn't want another instance like today happening again, she didn't want to get out the car when she went to pick Chris up from school later. Maybe walking to get him might be easier so she could make a quick escape once Chris came out the gates.
She didn't want the risk of bumping into Ray or catching sight of him after how he had acted. She had no idea what he would be like now she had upset and embarrassed him. He might be angry. He might try and get back at her or try harder to flirt or upset her. (Y/n) had no idea what Ray might do and she didn't want to find out either.
It was as if Eddie could read her thoughts because his arms looped tightly around her waist and his lips pressed against her temple, smothering a sigh as he started to sway them from left to right.
"No one's ever done that before." (Y/n) muttered the words quietly into Eddie's neck as she closed her eyes and moved to lay her cheek on his shoulder.
Sure, a few guys had whistled or cat called her once or twice, but no one had been so rude and demeaning as to reach out and touch (Y/n) inappropriately like that before. Especially not somewhere like a school where her kids were there. She was just relieved that Chris hadn't seen.
"Hey, no one's gonna do that again, especially not him. I promise." There was a certain meaning behind those words that made (Y/n) cling to Eddie tighter.
She wasn't quite sure she wanted to ask him what he meant by that and she felt his lips pressing against her temple once again like he was trying to banish all the bad thoughts from her mind.
"I'm taking Chris to school tomorrow." There was no debating Eddie's statement.
He would take Chris to school in the morning on his way to work. And he hoped Ray would be there. Eddie would go and have words with him.
***
"What you looking for?" A perplexed look flooded Chris's face when he tilted his head back to look up at his dad.
Eddie wasn't usually this slow when walking Chris through the gates, but Chris kept on finding himself speeding ahead with Eddie two paces behind him. And his dad was constantly looking around like he was an owl, tilting his head from left to right.
Those words snapped Eddie out of his thoughts and he looked down at Chris and tried his best to smile reassuringly. He kept his left hand locked around the handle on Chris's backpack like he usually did so Chris wouldn't drift too far off and he picked up the pace to keep up with him.
"Sorry bud, just looking around."
Chris hummed and once they reached their usual spot in the playground, he spun round and wrapped his arms around Eddie's waist.
"Alright, have a good day and your mum will pick you up later, okay?" Eddie kissed the top of his head and ruffled his hair just to see Chris squirm and groan.
He watched Chris head off towards the doors, shouting "Bye dad!" over his shoulder before he was out of sight and as happy as ever.
Once Chris was safely inside, Eddie stuffed his hands into his pockets and turned around. His shoulders rose high and his eyes scanned the playground as he wandered back towards the gates. There was one person in particular he was looking for and if he didn't find him, the rest of the day was going to be spent with Eddie in a foul mood.
He slowed down his walk once he was out the gates and looking around the street. He weaved between the kids just arriving and the parents waving them off. Out of all the times Eddie had dropped Chris off and tried to rush back to the car in a hurry and avoid one specific person, this was the first time that Eddie had ever wanted to bump into him.
And there he was.
Ray. Stood with his phone in hand, both his kids already forgotten before they were even through the school gates. How typical.
Eddie's day was going to go much better now he had spotted him. He wouldn't have to go to work thinking about what he wanted to do and what he should say once he found Ray. He wouldn't spend the day in a sour mood feeling annoyed that he hadn't sorted this situation out once and for all.
Now Eddie could rectify the situation.
He was weaving through the parents and aiming for Ray before the older man had even bothered to lift his head from staring at his phone.
"Hey, remember me?"
Eddie didn't give Ray chance to respond. As soon as he was within reach, Eddie curled his hand around Ray's upper arm and continued in his stride.
He began dragging Ray alongside him until the older man had no choice but to stumble and turn around to follow alongside Eddie. He knew they must have looked a bit odd and a few looks were gained in their direction, but no one commented or approached or got in the way.
Without breaking his stride, Eddie guided Ray around the corner to the left so they were away from the school and most on-lookers. A secluded corner right near an alley, the perfect atmosphere and seclusion Eddie needed to have a little 'friendly word' with Ray.
"Jesus Diaz, what's that about?" Ray shook his arm as if Eddie's grip had almost broken it, something Eddie wasn't opposed to doing after what Ray had done yesterday. And he stuffed his phone in his pocket, clearly wanting to give his full attention to Eddie and find out what he wanted and what he thought he was doing.
Both Eddie's hands fell to his hips and his head angled to one side as he stared, unamused, at the older man stood slightly slouched in front of him.
"I think you had an altercation with my wife yesterday."
The smile on Eddie's face was unnerving and Ray's demanour changed within an instant. He straightened up but seemed to shrink in on himself at the same time. His brows furrowed and he took a deep breath while he held his chin high, but it didn't do much to intimidate Eddie or make him seem like the bigger person, in any respect.
Did he really think that (Y/n) would go home and not tell Eddie what he had done? Did he think Eddie wouldn't care or that he wouldn't bother to come over and confront him about it? If that's what Ray thought then he was more idiotic than Eddie first took him for.
Ray rolled his shoulders and tensed his jaw as he glared across at Eddie. "I- I talked to her, yeah."
"Hm. And you really think it's appropriate to go around and grope a married woman when she turns you down?" Eddie folded his arms over his chest and took a step closer until there was barely one foot of space between them and he was leering over the older man.
All Eddie could think about yesterday was the fact that Ray thought he had the right to go and touch (Y/n) and make her feel intimidated and he hadn't been there to do anything. No one had stepped in or asked what was going on. He had upset (Y/n) and made her uncomfortable and panicked and he had no right to go and do something like that.
He had no right to touch her in any way and yet he had and he seemed to think there was nothing wrong with that and no consequences. Well, Eddie would show him that actions had consequences. He would make sure Ray didn't go around doing this to anyone else. Especially not to Eddie's wife again.
As if it wasn't enough of a sign that (Y/n) was married and had just had a baby which would indicate she wasn't looking for flirtations. Ray still went ahead and did something he shouldn't without being led on in the slightest.
"She was asking for it."
Stars and spots twinkled in front of Eddie's eyes when those words hit his ears and before he knew what he was doing, he was lunging forward. His hand clenched around Ray's shoulder which he used to push him forward and he grabbed Ray's wrist with his other hand. In less than a second, he had Ray's hand twisted at a ninety-degree angle until it was locked in place and any other rotation would snap the joint completely.
The yelp of surprise and pain that Ray let out was almost music to Eddie's ears and he manoeuvred his hand until his palm was pressing down on Ray's fingers, bending them to the point of agony.
"Talk about her like that again, and I'll start breaking bones one at a time." Eddie wasn't opposed to bending fingers until they snapped and it would be incredibly easy to twist Ray's wrist until the joint snapped and the tendons and ligaments started to stretch and tear.
He didn't want to hear lies like that and he especially didn't want Ray talking about (Y/n) in that manner. She hadn't done anything to lead him on and they both knew it and Eddie wasn't just going to stand and listen to him talking about her like that. It was insulting.
When Ray nodded his head, Eddie loosened his grip just a little so that Ray could straighten up somewhat and he could flex his fingers without the risk of breaking them. But he didn't let go of him just yet. They weren't finished.
"You're an old guy, Ray, you should understand respect." He was older than Eddie, and Eddie had been brought up on manners and respect to everyone, especially women and his elders.
He would have thought that Ray had those same ideals enforced upon him when he was growing up. But clearly he didn't or he had forgone without them.
With a deep breath, Eddie let go of Ray's shoulder in favour of scrunching his hand in the back of Ray's hair instead. He yanked his head back so they were almost level and he could talk without having to raise his voice and risk others listening in. If anyone caught them they would surely call the police or tell the school that Eddie had been instigating arguments with other parents.
He didn't need that to happen right now. This was just an informal chat in Eddie's opinion. He could do a lot worse if he wanted to, and he really, really wanted to. He was restraining himself and showing some mercy to Ray who didn't exactly deserve it right now.
Ray had to understand, and Eddie had to make things perfectly clear for him so there wouldn't be any more incidents like this happening again.
"Alright Ray, now if you go near my wife again, you won't be able to use those hands anymore. And if you dare try and touch her like that again, I'll bury you myself. Are we clear?"
He wasn't sure he was going to get an answer until he tightened his hand in Ray's hair and gave his head a little shake. That was enough to have him yelping and hissing.
"Yeah! Yeah, w-whatever Diaz… just get off." The strain was clear in his voice and once Eddie let go of him and released his wrist, Ray stumbled forward. He tripped over his feet, coiling his now bruised and tender arm to his chest and shaking his head where his salt and pepper hair was ruffled and skewed at the back of his head.
He didn't look back towards Eddie as he stumbled from the secluded corner. He coughed, grumbled and spat as he turned and trudged down the path, going as fast as he dared without breaking into a run and arousing suspicion from any other parents that might still be hanging around nearby.
A relieved look took over Eddie's face as he ran a hand through his hair and clicked his neck into place. It felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders and he headed out onto the path, setting his sights on his car.
He could go to work now, satisfied that Ray wasn't about to try any of those tricks whenever he bumped into (Y/n) at school. (Y/n) could pick Chris up this afternoon and any other day from now and she wouldn't have to worry. Ray had been warned to stay away.
And if he didn't, Eddie would follow through on his promise.
Since this is not a Wendy’s, thank god, can I order reader riding Eddie? No plot if you don’t want, I’m down for straight to the point👍
Oh you think you’re funny. You are. Ma’am. Pull up to window two, please. I love to the point 🫶
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Fuck. You are so sexy," Eddie grunts as you rise to straddle his squirming hips, his fingers pressed up to your lips as you plant kisses along their pads tenderly, the both of you letting out a gasp as his throbbing cock sinks into your heat.
"Takin' me so good, mí amor. Just like I taught you," he praises with a low groan as you begin rhythmically grinding your hips against his own, working the length of him in and out of your grip passionately. "So fuckin' pretty for me, baby. Got the prettiest girl in the whole wide world, right here on top'a me."
"God, fuck. Eddie," you whimper as his words continue to stoke the fire within you that’s already been burning for hours. He joins in the effort of rolling you against him, his impressive size hitting every sweet spot inside of you so perfectly, so deliciously. "Feels so good," you gush, your eyes locking with his as you smile shyly, giving the palm of his hand you're cradling a kiss.
"My girl," he beams back, one of his hands finding your cheek to cradle the outline of your jaw as his thumb slips into you mouth resting on your tastebuds, the other settles down just below your belly, thumb tracing over your burning clit as you begin to work faster over his bucking form.
For a good while, there's nothing but the sound of hitched breathing and low moans exchanged between the two of you as he takes you apart from the inside out, knowing exactly how to work you, a fine craft he's been mastering for ages.
"C'mon, princess. Take what you need from me. Show me how good I make you feel,” Eddie urges with slight growl in his throat when he senses the increase in pressure from deep inside you, your breaths intensifying as your toes begin to curl.
"Please Eddie, please," you pant, pressure building up through your core as you chase your desperate release.
"There you go, babydoll. There it is," he chants, his cock hardening beneath you as you clench down uncontrollably, waves of pleasure rolling over you as you surrender completely.
"Fuck, baby. Shit," the man grunts as he spills inside of you, an exhausted huff of air escaping you as you collapse over his trembling body.
"Did so fuckin' good for me," Eddie praises softly into your ear as he strokes back your hair, allowing you as much time as you need to recover from your high. "Always do, my perfect girl."
leeking havoc - eddie diaz x reader
Based on this request: Hi love! I have another prank fic request for you :) (I also imagine this happening at the 118) Reader runs up to Eddie and Bobby in a panic. "You gotta come quick! There's a serious leak under the sink!"Everyone runs up to the kitchen and when one of them opens the cabinet, they discover that the reader drew a face on a leek. ( the picture of this prank online is hilarious 😂) Thanks hun!
Tumblr media
It was a qui - it was a slow day at the firehouse today.
There had been a total of two calls in the past eight hours. One was a very clichéd cat-stuck-in-a-tree call, and the other was a non-serious allergic reaction that only Bobby, Eddie, Hen, and Chim went to.
Which left several members of the 118 behind - including you and Buck, which is an incredibly dangerous duo to leave behind, in Eddie's honest opinion.
Matthews reverses the fire engine into the station, and as soon as it was parked, Eddie hops off. Hen and Chim decide to do inventory in the ambulance, but otherwise the station is muted; the usual buzz of the place reduced to a very dull murmur. Eddie surveys his surroundings quickly for his girlfriend and best friend, to no avail.
As Bobby and Eddie start their ascent up the stairs to the loft, you show up at the top of the stairs, looking down at them, harried and stressed. "Guys, come quick! There's a massive leak in the kitchen!"
The two men rush upstairs, carefully walking around the kitchen to avoid slipping on any potential puddles of water.
"Where?" Bobby asks you, not seeing a leak anywhere.
"Over here, Cap!" Buck answers, pointing to the sink. Eddie raises an eyebrow at Buck, because Buck is pretty good at dealing with leaks - in fact, he's the better handyman between the two of them. Eddie and Bobby make their way towards Buck regardless.
Bobby opens the cabinet under the sink, and is met with a leek, alright. The vegetable, that not only has funny angry face drawn onto it with permanent marker, but also had a Polaroid selfie taped to it of you and Buck, sticking your tongues out at the camera.
"I'm too old for this." Bobby mutters, pulling out the leek from under the sink, and handing it over to Eddie before walking off to his office. As he does, he orders over his shoulder: "Y/N and Eddie, you're both on kitchen duty."
"What do you want us to make, Cap?" Eddie calls out.
Bobby turns around with a serene smile. "How about leek soup?"
Eddie groans. He was surrounded by children.
It was early in the morning when you were woken up by Eddie giving you a kiss on the cheek. You and Eddie have been dating for a few weeks now and are really happy together. Yesterday Eddie came to your apartment after work and surprised you while Buck was taking care of Christopher. You haven’t met his friends or Chris yet, but Eddie told you that he plans for you to meet them soon.
You and Eddie stayed in bed cuddling for a few more minutes until his timer went off. You let out a groan and he chuckled.
“I’m sorry, mi amor, but I have to get up now.” Eddie said while gently drawing circles on your back.
“Just five more minutes, please.” You said, he smiled at you and pulled you closer to him. After five minutes you understood that he really had to go now, even though you were sad that he was leaving. When he stood at your apartment door, you hugged him one more time and Eddie pulled you into a soft kiss.
“Do we see us after your shift?” You asked while holding his hand.
“Of course.” He said with a smile.
“Be safe.” You told him before he left the apartment. When Eddie leaves or when you know he is at work you’re always so worried about him, even though he has told you that he will always take good care of himself.
There was still time before you had to go to work, so you took a shower, had breakfast and then you decided to watch something on the TV in your room. As you entered your room, you noticed something laying on the floor. It looked like one of your necklaces, but when you got closer you saw that it was Eddie’s St. Christopher medallion. You picked it up from the floor and held it in your hand, looking at it with a smile. When a thought suddenly popped into your mind. It means so much to Eddie and he's probably looking for it. You put your shoes on and decided to drive to the station and bring it back to Eddie.
After a short drive you parked your car outside of the 118. You were nervous because you have never been there before and never even met the others. Even though you already know a lot about them based on the stories Eddie told you. When you walked into the station you noticed that the fire truck is here which means Eddie should be here as well. You couldn’t see him, but when you walked further into the station you saw a young, friendly looking guy walking towards you.
“Hey, can I help you?”
“I’m looking for Eddie Diaz.” You said nervously.
“He's upstairs, you can come with me.” He said and walked over to the stairs.
When you reached the top of the stairs you followed him into the kitchen where everyone was. You looked around and saw Eddie talking to someone. You noticed the guy he was talking to, it’s Buck.
“Eddie here is someone for you.” He said, Eddie turned around and was surprised when he saw you.
“Mi amor, you okay?” Eddie asked in a worried tone as he walked closer to you. You could see that the others were confused at first but then started to smile.
“Yeah, I’m okay, Eddie.” You said and Eddie reached for your hand.
“I found something in my apartment and because I know how much it means to you I thought I'd quickly bring it back to you before I go to work.” You explained, opened your bag and pulled out his St. Christopher medallion. You handed it to Eddie, who began to smile.
“Thank you. I was already looking for it.” He said and you smiled at him. He wanted to pull you into a kiss, but when you remembered that all his friends were here you started to blush.
“Oh, who do we have here.” one of Eddie's colleagues said as he entered the room.
“Chim, this is Y/N my girlfriend.” Eddie announced and then began introducing you to all of his colleagues and friends.
“And you must be Buck.” You said and he chuckled.
“Yeah that’s me.”
“It’s great to finally meet you, Eddie has told me a lot about you.”
“I hope only good things.” Buck said and everyone started to chuckle.
“Of course, don’t worry.” You giggled and then looked at the clock.
“It was really nice meeting you all, but I have to go to work now.” You told the others and then looked back at Eddie. They all understood and before saying goodbye you all agreed that you would meet again soon. Eddie walked downstairs with you and when you reached your car, he finally kissed you again.
“I know you didn't want me to meet your friends like this, but when I found your St. Christopher medallion I had to bring it to you.”
“It’s okay, you don’t need to worry. Actually, I’m really glad you came here today.” He said and pulled you into a hug. When you pulled away, you smiled at each other and said goodbye to each other.
The scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as Eddie stood in the kitchen, pouring the dark liquid into two to-go cups. The morning sun peeked in through the blinds, casting soft strips of light across the counter. One hand held a cup steady, while the other reached blindly for a lid.
“Chris! Let’s go, buddy!” Eddie called out, his voice echoing down the hall as he snapped the second lid on the other mug. He didn’t even have to check the clock to know they were running late. At this point he was used to them being late.
From somewhere deeper in the house, (Y/n)’s voice answered, laced with frustration. “I can’t find my other shoe!” Eddie glanced up, amused. He could already picture her, half-dressed, hair still tousled from sleep, scrambling through the house like it was a scavenger hunt.
She came around the corner into the kitchen, hopping slightly as she wore only one sneaker and zipped up her LAFD hoodie. Her hair was wild and soft, and she used one hand to gather it into a quick bun. It wasn’t her usual clean, firehouse-ready one, but the messy kind she did when time was not on her side.
“Lost it again?” Eddie asked, sipping his coffee with a smirk as he leaned his lower back against the kitchen counter.
“I swear I saw it lying right here last night,” (Y/n) muttered, eyes scanning the floor, then opening the pantry like the shoe might’ve magically climbed onto a shelf.
Eddie watched her with a lazy smile. Her sleepy frustration was oddly cute, and he loved this little chaotic piece of their mornings more than he’d ever admit out loud.
Just then, the familiar thud of crutches echoed down the hall. Chris appeared at the edge of the dining room, steady as always, pushing the shoe forward from underneath one of the dining room chairs “You mean this one?” Chris asked.
(Y/n)’s head popped around the doorframe, and her eyes locked onto the missing sneaker lying on the floor in front of Chris’ crutches. Relief washed over her face. “Chris! You’re a lifesaver.” she said, sounding like the shoe like it was her long-lost soulmate.
She rushed over and took it, dropping down to one knee and started to put the long lost shoe on. Chris raised a brow, curious. “Why were you looking for your shoe in the kitchen?” he asked.
(Y/n) froze mid-lace.
She blinked. Good question. A very good question.
Eddie, still in the kitchen, perked up immediately, like he knew this was going to be good. (Y/n) blinked, suddenly very aware that her searching area made no sense. At least, for him.
“Uhh…” she stalled, her voice faltering as her gaze slowly lifted toward Eddie, who was now watching her over the rim of his coffee cup as he leaned against the doorframe from the kitchen, clearly amused. Then she looked back at Chris, and tried to think fast.
“You know… things happen. Sometimes shoes… travel.” she said as she turned to Eddie for help once more. He offered none. Not at first. Just raised his eyebrows and took another sip.
Chris gave her a look. “And you thought your shoe would be behind the fridge?” he asked, trying to make sense of it. “I don’t know, Chris,” she said, tying her laces faster. “It’s early, my brain’s still warming up.”
Eddie pushed himself off the door frame, sipping his coffee slowly, very amused. “I’m dying to hear this logic, honestly.” Eddie then said. (Y/n) shot him a narrow-eyed look. “Don’t you have something better to do? Like being on time?”
“Nope. Watching this unfold is the highlight of my morning,” he said, handing her the second coffee cup as she stood up.
She snatched it playfully, brushing her fingers against his. “Thank you. For the coffee and your unwavering support.” she said.
“Always,” he said, leaning in for a quick kiss on her temple. Then he turned towards his son, “Don’t ask questions you don’t want the answers to, bud.” he continued.
Chris smirked, shaking his head. “You guys are weird.” And sighed like a kid who had already seen too much adult nonsense for a Monday morning.
“We know,” they both answered in unison. “Let’s just go before I lose something else, like my dignity.” she whispered softly at Eddie.
“Too late,” Eddie muttered under his breath, but the playful glint in his eye gave him away.
With Chris by the door, (Y/n) finally fully dressed, and coffee in hand and duffle bags on the other, the three of them finally tumbled out of the house.
Eddie eased the car into the disabled parking space near the front of the school. He shifted the car into park, glanced at the clock on the dashboard, and sighed. Barely on time. Not bad, considering the morning shoe crisis.
He popped open his door and stepped out of the driver’s side, the spring air still carrying a hint of coolness. Without missing a beat, he walked around to the backseat and opened it, reaching in to pull out Chris’s crutches.
Inside the car, Chris was already moving like clockwork. He unbuckled his seatbelt with a click, swung his backpack over his shoulder as he put his arm through the other loop and pushed open the door where Eddie stood waiting with his usual, patient smile.
“Here you go, buddy.” Eddie handed him the crutches gently as Chris stepped out of the car. Chris took them without looking up “Thanks.” he said, and slipped his arms through the plastic.
Eddie closed the door behind Chris, the solid thunk of it echoing in the small morning bustle of the parking lot. The noise of students, parents, and teachers swirled around them. Voices calling out, backpacks rustling, cars pulling up and away.
(Y/n) rolled down her window from the passenger seat, watching the moment unfold with a soft smile.
Eddie crouched in front of Chris, one of his hands resting on Chris’ shoulder, and the other one on his knee like he always did when he needed his son to really listen.
“You remembered your math homework, right?” Eddie asked as he tried to make eye contact with him. Chris let out an exaggerated sigh. “Yes, Dad.”
Eddie raised an eyebrow. “Not stuffed in the bottom of your bag? Not forgotten on your desk? Not being used as a bookmark in your comic book?” he asked. Chris’ eyes connected with his dad’s. “Daaaad,” Chris groaned, rolling his eyes. “I got it, okay?”
(Y/n) had to stifle a laugh from her seat. Eddie smirked but softened as he reached out and let go of Chris’ shoulder.“I know, I know,” he said, ruffling Chris’s hair. “I’m just doing my job. The annoying dad part.” Eddie continued.
Chris gave him a tired look that said: you’re doing it very well. Eddie leaned in and pressed a kiss to the top of Chris’ head. “I love you, okay?”
“Dad!” Chris hissed in embarrassment, eyes darting toward a group of kids walking by. “You’re embarrassing me in front of people!” he mumbled as a smirk appeared on Eddie’s face. “Good. It’s in the contract,” he grinned, his eyes soft. “Embarrass you now, pay for therapy later.”
Chris groaned and rolled his eyes as he turned and started toward the school entrance. “Have a good day!” Eddie called after him, “Oh and don’t trade your snacks!” he added.
“Daaad!” Chris yelled back, not turning around. And then he was gone, just another kid with a backpack vanishing into the group of students.
(Y/n) laughed from inside the car, shaking her head. “You really live to torment that kid.” she said as she looked to the side, watching Eddie getting in the car.
Eddie slipped back into the driver’s seat, his smile lingering. “Gotta enjoy it while I can. In a few years he'll still be embarrassed, but with a deeper voice and probably facial hair.”
“He’ll still be rolling his eyes at your jokes.” she said as she smiled and took a sip from her coffee.
“Absolutely,” Eddie said, starting the car. “Oh—by the way, I told him Tía Rosa’s picking him up today. She said she’d take him for ice cream if he finishes his homework”
“Did you remind him about that?” She asked as she let the back of her head fall against the headrest and looked at Eddie. “Only six times,” Eddie deadpanned. (Y/n) chuckled as Eddie put the car in reverse.
Eddie pulled away, his fingers tapped rhythmically against the steering wheel. “I always feel like we forgot something.” (Y/n) smiled, as she glanced at Eddie. “You packed his lunch, embarrassed him… That’s everything.” she said and placed her hand onto his, that was resting on the armrest in between the passenger and driver. Eddie smiled as he felt her thumb softly tracing over his hand, his eyes locked on the road. “Yeah. I guess that is everything.”
-
The freeway stretched out in front of them, long and open beneath a soft blue sky. Morning sunlight spilled across the dashboard, painting golden streaks over Eddie’s forearms as he drove. (Y/n) sat beside him, her coffee now half-empty, hair still slightly messy, but that early morning panic had finally faded.
Eddie’s hand rested on the steering wheel, fingers tapping a lazy beat. He glanced over at (Y/n), who was finishing her coffee, hoodie sleeves rolled up, legs curled beneath her in the passenger seat.
Eddie glanced over at her with a small smirk. He couldn’t help it. “So… the kitchen, huh?”
(Y/n) let out a sigh, already rolling her eyes at the sentence. “You’re really not gonna let that go?” She asked. Eddie chuckled, looking at her for a quick second before focusing back on the road. “You froze like Chris caught you committing a federal crime. No comeback, no lie, just panic.”
“I was caught off guard!” she said as she tried not to smile when she thought back at the moment of this morning. Eddie raised an eyebrow. “You really had nothing. Not even a fake excuse.”
“I really thought my shoe was in the kitchen,” she mumbled as she took a sip of her coffee. “Well, yeah, because that’s where you launched it. Right after you climbed up on the counter.” he said, while an agreeing look took over his face.
Her head snapped toward him. “Excuse me? I did not climb anything.” she shot back at him. “You totally did,” he teased. “And I blacked out after. I mean, we had just gotten off a 24-hour shift, and then you… you were just standing there. Hoodie, messy hair, tired face. I lost it.” Eddie admitted as he glanced back at her.
“You couldn’t keep your hands to yourself.” she accused him. Eddie laughed, his fingers tapping the steering wheel. “You were just as bad. You kept brushing up against me at work, touching my arm and looking at me like that.” he said.
“I handed you a clipboard, Eddie.” (Y/n) said as her eyebrows furrowed at his words. “And I pinned you against the truck,” he grinned.
“That was a two-second moment!” She said. “Hmm.. for you maybe. It felt like hours to me. Torture.” he said, glancing back at (Y/n). She shook her head, smiling, cheeks a little warmer than a second ago now.
“Oh, and don’t think I forgot about the bathroom,” (Y/n) said, glancing at Eddie with a teasing smirk. Eddie’s brows lifted, already sensing where this was going. “What bathroom?” he asked, trying to act innocent and not knowing.
“That was all you,” she added, sipping from her coffee with a mocking look on her face, like she’d just presented a final piece of evidence. Eddie let out a half-laugh, mouth hanging open in disbelief. “You kissed me first!” he said.
“Because you pulled me in there!” Her eyes widened like she couldn’t believe they were actually arguing about this, but the smile tugging at the corners of her lips said otherwise. Her cheeks were slightly flushed, both from laughter and from the memory.
Eddie shook his head as he drove, a grin spread across his face. “Because you were looking at me like you were gonna kiss me in front of Bobby!” he said. She scoffed, shifting in her seat, turning toward him. “I—what?! No I wasn’t!” she stumbled.
“Yes you were,” he said, glancing quickly at her. There was a fire in his eyes now. Not angry kind, just playful and maybe a little smug. “You gave me that look. The firehouse hallway look.” he said then. (Y/n) blinked, then narrowed her eyes, leaning in just slightly. “What look is that?” she asks, confused as she placed the coffee back into the cup holder.
“The one that says: ‘I’d climb you like a ladder if Buck wasn’t two feet away.’”
Her jaw dropped and she immediately burst out laughing, one hand flying to cover her face. Her hoodie sleeve slipped slightly down her wrist as she leaned against the door, trying to pull herself together. “You are so dramatic” she managed through her laughter.
“I’m passionate,” Eddie said proudly, placing a dramatic hand over his heart like he was quoting Shakespeare, with his eyes twinkling. “You’re impossible,” she replied, cheeks still flushed as she wiped a tear of laughter away. Her bun had started to come loose from all the movement, stray hairs framing her face.
“And I was going insane,” Eddie added, his voice serious. “I couldn’t touch you for twenty-four hours except in secret. Do you know what that does to a man?” She rolled her eyes but couldn’t stop smiling.
“You bit my lip, remember?” he added, looking to his right. “That was because someone walked in!” she tried to defend herself, trying to keep a straight face and failing. “I was bleeding,” Eddie said, holding up his finger as if to prove the severity of the wound, but there was barely even a wound there.
“You survived.”
Eddie smiled and reached over, resting his hand gently on her thigh. His thumb rubbed slow circles. His voice softened. “I’d do it all over again, though.” (Y/n) glanced over, her smile quieter now. “Yeah?”
“Every shift. Every morning. You’re worth it.” he told her as he took a second to look straight into her eyes.
They sat in that soft silence for a moment. It felt nice. It was almost like a calm before the storm. But then Eddie’s eyes flicked to the road ahead, and that feeling started to slip.
A black car in front of them was swerving across lanes, it was going way too fast and moving way too broad. Eddie frowned, “What the hell is this guy doing?”
(Y/n) sat up straighter. “He’s all over the road. Is he drunk?” she said as she frowned at the image. The warm hand of Eddie let go of (Y/n)’s thigh as he leaned forward and his hands were tightening on the wheel. “Has to be. He’s going, what… ninety? Maybe more.”
The sedan veered again, hard, and nearly clipped the car next to it. Horns blared. It recovered only to accelerate, erratically, like the driver had no idea what they were doing or didn’t care. “I’m not staying behind him,” Eddie muttered, switching lanes. “I’m gonna pass.”
“Just be careful,” she said quietly. “I’ve got it.”
Eddie turned on the turn signal and switched lanes as he stepped on the gas. He tried to pass the black car. But just as they pulled up beside it, the car didn’t make a small swerve like he had before. No, this time he made a much larger one.
No signal. No warning. Just pure, reckless speed. And it slammed directly into their passenger side.
It all happened so fast. The sound was deafening.
The sound of shattered glass, screeching metal and tires, airbags burst, white clouds filling the air as screams filled the small, tight space.
The truck tipped, then flipped. Once. Twice. Suddenly it felt like they were in some kind of fairground attraction they didn’t sign up for.
They were weightless and heavy all at once. Flung and yanked. Eddie’s head hit the headrest hard, his vision blurring. (Y/n)’s body was thrown to the side, her head snapping back against the window before the seatbelt caught her.
They landed hard on the passenger’s side, and back onto four wheels again. The car slowly came to a stop, and for a moment there was silence. Silence or a breath, and a heartbeat.
But then a second car, unable to stop in time, plowed into them from the side. The force sent their (already) destroyed car crashing into the guardrail, before it finally came to a stop. The truck flipped one more time and landed upside down.
Smoke was coming from the hood, and a soft hiss of leaking fluids sounded in the car. The distant honk of other cars skidding to a halt on the freeway they were just on.
Inside the vehicle, the world was upside down. Blood trickled from Eddie’s brow. His ears were ringing. He gasped for air, body aching in ways he hadn’t yet registered and groaned at the pain. He blinked hard as he tried to get a clearer vision, but he was still disoriented.
Then his heart dropped. “(Y/n)…?” he choked out, turning his head, even though every muscle in his body protested.
She wasn’t moving.
His eyes locked onto her. Her head hung in an awkward angle against the seatbelt. Her face was pale, blood dripping from her temple. “Hey,” Eddie’s voice cracked. “Come on, baby, wake up.” he continued as he tried to reach for her, while ignoring the pain he felt in his body.
(Y/n) was pinned in her seat. The metal had crumpled into her side, her hoodie was partly soaked in blood. He didn’t know how deep the metal rod was. He didn’t want to know. But it was enough to make his vision blur.
“No no no no no,” he whispered. “Please, open your eyes.” he begged, his voice was raw and trembling. “You’ve gotta stay with me, okay? Stay with me.” he cried. But she didn’t answer, Eddie felt like the air had been knocked from his lungs all over again when she didn’t answer, or even gave any sign of life.
He knew he shouldn’t move. He knew staying still was the safest thing after a crash like that. His training screamed at him to wait for help. But that voice, the smart, calm, firefighter one, was nowhere to be found at this moment.
All he could hear was her breathing faltering and that silence between her breaths was louder than any alarm he’d ever heard.
Eddie gritted his teeth and fought with his own seatbelt while the blood was rushing to his head. The seatbelt finally gave way, dropping him hard onto the ceiling, (which was now the floor) of the ruined car. His ribs ached in protest, but he didn't stop. He groaned as he pressed a hand onto the painful spot, and he dragged himself toward the shattered driver’s side.
He pushed glass out of his way with raw hands. He didn’t care if glass would cut into his hand, it had already cut his knees, but he didn’t feel a single piece of glass in his skin. The adrenaline was rushing through his veins.
He had to get to her. He had to help her. He couldn’t just stand there and do nothing.
He crawled through the window on the driver’s side, glass cutting into his palms and his legs which were barely working. The morning temperature hit his skin like a slap, but he barely felt it. His entire body was focused on one thing, and that was his girl.
The air reeked of burning rubber and leaking gasoline. People were shouting nearby, tires screeching in the distance, but it all sounded muffled. It was almost like he was underwater.
Eddie pushed himself onto his feet, but almost lost his balance. But his hands quickly grabbed the car to keep him on two feet. He walked as fast as he could around the car.
When he reached the passenger side, he could barely recognize the door. It was caved in completely. But he could see her face through the shattered glass, pale and bloody and still not moving.
Eddie's hands were trembling, without a single thought he braced himself against the door and tried to pull it back, muscles screaming with effort. “Come on!” he grunted, chest heaving. “Just- open- damn it- open!” he cried desperately.
Nothing gave.
He stepped back, his breath stuttering while he blinked through the sting in his eyes. He had to get help. He needed his team here. Now.
He fumbled for his phone, almost dropping it with how slick his fingers were. Blood, sweat, oil, he didn’t even know. His hands were still shaking, panic setting in. A thousand thoughts ran through his mind, but somehow he managed to hit Buck’s name in the contact list.
Eddie pressed the phone to his ear, pacing in small, frantic circles like he could outrun the panic crawling up his spine. “Come on, come on, pick up, please.” he whispered.
First ring. Second ring. Third ring.
He was sure the next thing he was going to hear was the voicemail of Buck. But then he heard his best friend's voice through the phone. “Eddie?” he spoke on the other side of the line, his voice loud compared with the sirens on the background.
Silence.
“Eddie? Hey, can you hear me?”
Still nothing.
Just static, and something… shallow. Breathing. Shaky. Ragged. Like someone was gasping through tears, like someone was trying not to fall apart. Buck’s stomach dropped.
“Eddie? Talk to me, man. What’s going on?” He knew Eddie was on the other side of the phone. This wasn’t just some butt dial. But the sounds through the phone.. He just knew something wasn’t right.
More silence. A soft thud. A crackle of air. The faintest sound of someone moving and still no words.
Eddie didn’t know what was happening. He wanted to say so much, but simply couldn’t get the words out.
“Eddie?”
There was a pause… and then, finally, a single, broken word finally came out of his mouth. “…Buck.” The sound of it… raw and strained.
“Jesus. What happened? Are you okay? Where are you? Is Chris okay?” Buck asked.
A beat of hesitation.
“Not Chris,” Eddie finally managed to bring out, his voice catching in his throat. “It’s- (Y/n).” The name barely made it out. “We were driving. She…” He choked again.
The words were there, but they just wouldn’t come out. His chest felt too tight, like the panic was caving in from all sides, pressing down until nothing made sense except the urge to do something.
“She’s not moving. Buck, I can’t get the door open. There’s- there’s metal through her side, I think- I think it went all the way through-” he rattled.
“Okay, hey,” Buck cut in, trying to keep his voice steady even though his own heart had started to pound. “You’re doing great. We’re already en route. Bobby said it was a multi-car pileup- are you on the 405?” Buck then asked.
“Yes- yeah,” Eddie stammered, breath catching again as he glanced back at her. “She’s bleeding. A lot. And I- I can’t get her out. I tried. The door’s stuck. She’s not- she hasn’t opened her eyes.” Eddie continued as he ran a hand through his hair.
His voice cracked, and for a second, Buck could hear the weight of everything Eddie was holding back. The fear, the helplessness, the sheer horror of watching the person he loved bleed out in front of him. And the worst part? He couldn’t fix it. Not without the right tools.
“You don’t have to get her out,” Buck said firmly. “You know that, Eddie. We’ve got the jaws. We’ll get her. You just stay with her. Don’t move her. Keep talking to her. Keep her grounded, okay?”
“I can’t lose her.” Eddie’s voice broke entirely now, soft cries sounding through the phone. “Buck, I can’t—she’s all banged up and it’s bad, and she hasn’t said a word-”
“You’re not gonna lose her,” Buck said, instantly cutting off Eddie, his voice direct. “You hear me? You are not losing her. We are minutes out. I just need you to hang on.” Eddie nodded, he needed to keep hope. His jaw clenched as he wiped at his face, smearing blood and tears alike.
“She’s gonna be okay,” Buck said again, steady. They hung up before they could share another word. Eddie swallowed hard and crouched lower to the shattered window, brushing a shaking hand over (Y/n)’s cheek.
“I’m here, sweetheart,” he whispered. “You stay with me. Just stay with me.”
Eddie was still crouched at her side, the glass from the passenger side window that had shattered cutting into his knees, his hands covered in blood, sweat and oil. His fingers brushed her cheek again. “Hey... hey, (Y/n) help is on the way..” he whispered, voice shaking. “You’re doing so good. Just keep breathing, okay?”
For the first time she gave some sign of life. (Y/n) let out a weak groan as her lashes slightly stick against the blood on her skin. Her body was limp but trembling. The twisted metal of the car door pressed in cruelly against her torso, and that goddamn jagged piece of steel impaled through her side made Eddie feel like he couldn’t breathe.
His lungs pulled in air, but it wasn’t enough. It didn’t reach his chest.
Then the sirens hit the scene, rushing toward them like a wave. But Eddie didn’t feel any relief. His mind was stuck in static. Everything was noise except her.
“Almost there,” he murmured as another groan left (Y/n)’s lips.
The flashing lights painted his face red and blue as the truck of the 118 came to a stop nearby. He heard Buck’s voice calling out to him but Eddie didn’t respond. He couldn’t pull himself away from her.
“Eddie!” Buck ran to his side. “Hey—Eddie, are you okay?” Buck asked as he saw the status of Eddie. His best friend looked like he came straight from the battlefield. Parts of his body were covered in blood and sweat.
But Eddie didn’t answer his words. Couldn’t. Eddie’s jaw clenched as he stared down at her. His hands were shaking so badly now he had to clench them into fists just to stop.
“She’s- she’s not responding like before,” he finally stumbled. “She was... I don’t know if it hit an organ- there’s too much blood.” he choked out the sentences. Buck placed a steady hand on Eddie’s shoulder, grounding him. “Hen’s going to check her, Chim is already getting the stabilization.We’ve got it.” But Eddie couldn’t move, it was like his legs were cemented down to this part of the 705.
It wasn’t until Bobby stepped forward and gently said, “We need to get her out, Eddie. Let them work,” that made him back off. He rose stiffly, his limbs roaring in pain. But he didn’t feel any of it. Not really. His eyes flicked toward the wreckage down the road, and that’s when he saw it.
The other car.
The man inside was still behind the wheel, upright. Still breathing. Not a single drop of blood on him.
Something twisted in Eddie’s gut and it made his blood boil. That was him. The guy who hit them. The guy who almost killed them. The guy who almost killed her.
His breathing quickened, and his fists clenched. Bobby noticed the shift in Eddie’s posture instantly as he guided him a bit back so Bobby’s team could do their job. “Hey,” Bobby said carefully. “Eddie, don’t. I know what you’re thinking.”
“You don’t,” Eddie said, voice low and still shaking. “You don’t know.” he added. “I do,” Bobby stepped between him and the wreck. “But now is not the time.” he continued, trying to help Eddie take his mind off whatever he was planning on doing.
“He was drunk.” Eddie’s voice cracked. “He hit her side. He aimed for her, Bobby. He- he almost…” Eddie stopped, his fists clenched so tight his knuckles went white.
“I know,” Bobby said gently. “But let the cops handle it. Let the system do what it’s supposed to do.” his captain advised.
But that wasn’t good enough. Not for Eddie. Not when he could still hear her gasping for air in the background. Not when her blood was drying on his palms.
Bobby turned to give an order to Chim, just for a moment. One small silly second. And that’s all it took. “Eddie!” Bobby called, alarmed, but it was too late.
Eddie broke into a walk straight toward the black car, determined. He didn’t think. Didn’t plan. “Eddie!” Bobby called, alarmed, but it was too late. Eddie was already there. He ripped the car door open and grabbed the man by his jacket, yanking him out of the car.
“You almost killed her!” Eddie roared, his voice cracking. He slammed the man into the side of his car. The man stammered, but Eddie didn’t hear him. His vision tunneled, fists tightening.
“You ran us off the road like her life meant nothing! Like we meant nothing!” He shoved the guy again, harder this time.
The drunk man started to mumble something, maybe an apology, maybe just nonsense. But Eddie’s hand shot out and grabbed a fistful of his shirt.
“If she dies,” he snarled, eyes burning with something feral, “if she doesn’t wake up… I swear to God…” he gasped.  “Eddie!” Buck’s voice rang through the tension, closer now.
“-I’ll make sure you never forget what you did.” The man groaned, reeking of alcohol. Eddie raised a fist. Muscles tight, the urge burning in his veins like gasoline ready to ignite.
Buck’s voice hit him like a wave. He was running full speed, eyes wide and panicked. “Eddie, stop!” Buck sounded. But Eddie didn’t stop. Buck lunged and wrapped both arms around his friend, pulling him back with everything he had. “Don’t do this!” Buck shouted as he let go of Eddie when he started to wrestle himself out of Buck’s grip. Buck stood between Eddie and the drunk driver, trying to keep his best friend away from the man. “You lay a hand on him, and you’re the one in cuffs!” he continued as he came closer to Eddie.
Eddie’s eyes were wild, there was a fire within his eyes. “She could die! He did this! He was drinking-” he choked out the words, stumbling over each one of them. “I know, I know,” Buck said, voice cracking. “But you don’t get to make it right by losing yourself, Eddie.”
Eddie went still, chest heaving, hands trembling at his sides.
“She needs you, Eddie.” Buck said softer now. “She needs you there. Not behind bars. There. Holding her hand. You think she wants to wake up and not see you?” Buck continued.
Eddie’s throat burned. He looked back toward the ambulance where Hen was still working on (Y/n), her hand twitching slightly like she was reaching for someone who wasn’t there. The fight drained out of him all at once.
He looked over Buck’s shoulder for a second. “You’re lucky he’s here.” he hissed at the man, disgust curling his lip. And with those words, he walked away from the man.
The waiting room was too quiet. Not the kind of silence that brought peace. Eddie’s hands were trembling. He had his elbows on his knees, head bowed forward, eyes fixed on the floor tiles like they held answers he craved for so badly. But they didn’t. Nothing did.
Blood had dried on his knuckles, tracing over cuts that still had some slivers of glass in it. His palms were raw, his knees bruised and scraped. There was blood caked on his pants, his arms, and somewhere under all of it, a dull, throbbing pain in his ribs from where the seatbelt had clenched around him. But none of that mattered.
A gentle voice broke through the silence of the waiting room. “Eddie.” But he didn’t look up. “Hey,” the voice said again, softer now. A second later, a cool plastic bottle of water was pressed lightly into his hand. “Here. Just… take a sip, alright?” Buck’s voice sounded.
Eddie blinked slowly, like the water had just appeared out of nowhere. He looked down at it, then his fingers curled around it. But he didn’t drink the water. He just held it in his hand, letting condensation spread across the small cuts in his hand.
Buck sat down beside him, not saying anything for a moment.
“You need to get checked out,” he finally broke the silence. “You’re still bleeding.” he added as he looked at his broken, best friend. “I’m fine.” Eddie said, not even looking at him. His voice was low, almost toneless.
“No, you’re not. And it’s okay not to be. But she wouldn't want to see you like this.” Buck said. Making Eddie’s grip tighten on the bottle. He swallowed hard against whatever emotion was creeping up his chest.
“I keep seeing her…  the way her eyes rolled back, the blood… I didn’t know if—” He finally said, his voice cracked, and he stopped talking.
Buck leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees, mirroring Eddie’s posture. “You were in the crash too, man,” Buck said quietly as he kept his eyes locked on the side profile of Eddie. “You’ve got glass in your hands and probably your knees. You’re still bleeding from your eyebrow, and I’m pretty sure your ribs are messed up.”
Eddie didn’t respond, just stared at the water bottle like it was the only thing holding him together.
“She wouldn’t want you sitting here, hurting. Torturing yourself. You know that, right?” Buck continued. “She wants you okay. She wants to wake up and see you okay.”
Eddie exhaled, a sound that was half a sigh, half a choked breath. He brought the water to his lips with a shaky hand and took one slow sip.  “Let the nurses take a look at you,” Buck said gently. “Just a quick check. Get stitched up. Sit down somewhere where they can actually help you, not just... watch you fall apart in a waiting room.” Buck advised him.
Eddie hesitated. Then nodded. Not for himself, but because she would want him to.
Buck stood with him, steadying him as he swayed slightly on his feet, and walked him down the hallway toward an exam room. Eddie didn’t ask questions. Didn’t protest this time. But the whole way down the hall, while he had the water bottle still clutched in his hand. He kept looking over his shoulder… waiting for someone, anyone to come out of those double doors.
The moment one of the nurses came into the room where Eddie was being treated, and told him (Y/n) was out of surgery, he was up and already speed walking through the hallway. He just needed to see her.
Eddie opened the door to the hospital room, and stepped inside. The room was still dim, the blinds drawn to keep the harsh sunlight out. The steady beep of the heart monitor and the hum of the IV were the only sounds aside from the soft conversations of nurses outside the door.
When he stepped into her room, everything else fell away.
His eyes locked onto her. Her nose cannula was gently in place. There were IV lines, bandages, bruises, and her left arm was immobilized, but her chest was rising. Steady.
Eddie’s steps were slow, cautious, like approaching a dream he was terrified might disappear if he touched it. He reached her bedside, eyes locked on her face, pale, a little swollen, but hers.
Her eyes blinked open slowly, heavy from meds but not as foggy as before. She squinted up at him, throat dry as hell when she croaked “Eddie?” Her voice was soft, barely above a whisper.
But his whole body sank beside her, one hand carefully finding hers, mindful of her IVs and bruises. “Yeah, baby. I’m here.” he whispered, brushing his thumb over the skin, letting her know he was there.
Her eyes filled with tears. “You’re okay?” He let out a breath, part laugh, part sob. “You’re asking me?” he said as he placed his other hand on top of her head.
“You were bleeding,” she whispered, eyes already drooping again. Eddie brushed her hair back gently, thumb grazing her temple. “I’m fine,” he said softly. “A few scratches. Nothing like you.”
She tried to smile, but it hurt, and her face tightened. Eddie kissed her knuckles instead. “You look like hell.” She said then, the look in her eyes was more clear and present now.
Eddie snorted through a breath he didn’t even know he was holding. “Yeah? You should see the other guy.” he answered as a smile was projected onto his face.
“I did. They wheeled him past, but I’m pretty sure he threw up on a nurse.” she said. “That’s fair,” Eddie muttered, letting his hand drag down his face for a second, exhausted. “I almost did too. Right before I saw all that blood, the metal rod went through my side and thought my soul was leaving my body.” she admitted.
Eddie was smiling now. He was tired, relieved, and entirely too in love. “You know,” he said, gently brushing her hand with his thumb, “You scared the hell out of me,” he said, his voice thick. “Don’t ever do that again.”
“Well, I’m sorry. I didn’t plan to get hit by a car.” she mumbled, words slurred with the meds.
He let out a broken laugh, eyes brimming now. He couldn’t hold back anymore. He bowed his head toward their joined hands, pressing her fingers to his lips like a prayer.
She turned her head slightly, eyes softer now. “You okay?” she asked when she looked him in the eyes for a moment.
He let out a trembling sigh, but eventually nodded. “I am now.” he said softly. He leaned forward, pressing a kiss to the back of her hand. “But I mean it. Don’t ever scare me like that again.”
Tumblr media
“Yes baby, I will be home in 10 minutes, just had to stop at a gas station otherwise I wouldn’t make it.” — you say over the phone and sigh. Your day was long enough, of course it couldn’t end well, something had to make it a bit longer.
“Okay love, be safe.” — you hear Buck’s voice and smile. Who would have thought that after four years of dating – you can finally call this man your husband? The past three months of being married were so wonderful, you had everything you dreamed of. “I love you.”
“I love you too, see you soon!” — you smiled again and hung up the phone.
Well, this gas station definitely looks a bit shady, but it was the only one near and you really needed to get some gas.
It was 11 p.m., streets are getting emptier, and flashlights are the only source of seeing something in this darkness. You felt shivers down your spine and thought that it’s time to go home, you didn’t like this place.
Your hand reaches for the car door to get into the driver's seat. But this never happens. Instead, you feel a blow to your head so hard that the only thing you remember is falling to the ground and darkness. If someone got a reward for the most unfortunate end of the day, you would get it today.
Next thing you know, you wake up in a hospital and you try to properly open your eyes, but the light in the hospital is so bright that you squint for the first few minutes. You feel someone is sitting next to you and you turn your head in their direction. It was Maddie.
“Maddie? W-what happened?” — you finally speak and don’t recognize your voice. The voice is so hoarse, quiet and low.
“Oh (Y/N), you’re finally awake.” — Maddie said with a smile. “Don’t worry, you’re fine now, you got attacked at a gas station and had a concussion.” — she took your hand and squeezed it. “I’m gonna tell Buck you’re awake, he just left to buy some coffee. He will be so happy.” — one more smile from her and she left your room.
“Buck? Who’s that?” — you think to yourself and get confused. “Maybe it’s a doctor or something.”
A man runs into your room with a relieved look on his face. You assumed it was Buck. But you really can’t remember his face. Maybe it’s Maddie’s friend or a doctor she knows, she's a former nurse after all.
“Hi baby, I’m so glad you’re awake.” — he rushed to sit next to your bed, took your hand in his and placed a gentle kiss on it. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m sorry, sir, but do I know you? I can’t remember if I ever saw you.” — the confusion is written on your face, you furrowed your brows and looked at him.
But Buck just laughed and smiled at you. You always liked to call him “sir” to tease him. He had no idea why you did that, but he secretly liked it, it made you look cocky.
“I don’t know why you’re laughing, but I’m getting quite uncomfortable by my hand being kissed by a stranger. You better explain.” — you said that and pulled your hand out of his. Why does he think that he has some privilege to do that?
Then Buck realized. You don’t remember him. He felt like his world fell apart in one second. Everything they had been building for almost 5 years just disappeared. Your eyes were saying everything. There’s no love, affection and fondness in them. You didn’t look at him like he was the most important person in your life anymore.
“Maddie, can you explain? This man seems too stunned to speak.” — you said annoyingly, because no one gives any answers.
“(Y/N), I’m Buck, your husband.” — he said with so much pain that for a moment you thought that it’s you who’s acting stupid.
You couldn't lose your memory like that, could you? You remember everyone except your husband. Oh god, you're married, you probably have a house together, lots of plans for the future, but you don't remember anything.
Your head starts to hurt a lot from all the information that doesn't seem real. You look at Maddie and you see that tears are starting to form in her eyes. You see Hen standing outside the door of the room and talking to the doctor. The saddest look you've ever seen is on her face. Everyone remembers everything, why can't you remember?
The doctor comes into your room and gives you a little smile. This smile didn’t say "it's good that you woke up", this smile said "hang on, you have a lot of surprises ahead."
“So, Mr. and Mrs. Buckley, I have some news that I need to share. (Y/N) experienced a severe blow to the head, which led to dissociative amnesia, due to which she may forget something or someone specific in her life.” — so it’s true, you did forget your husband. How long have you two been together? How many good memories did you forget?
“What can we do?” — Buck said, pursing his lips. He took your hand again and squeezed it. This news shocked him, he wasn't ready for it, but he knows for sure that he is ready to do everything in his power to make you remember him.
“The best thing you can all do is put her in the environment where she has been for the last 5 years. Guide her slowly and carefully tell her the events she has forgotten. Memories can come in flashes and this is normal, it means that she remembers and after a while she will remember everything. But I must warn you that there is a chance that she will not remember anything.” — the doctor said and gave Buck a soft look. Unfortunately, he has to deal with many cases of amnesia and the hardest thing is to see the patient's family and know that they don't have the slightest idea what to do next. “Now, if you excuse me, I need to check on another patient.”
There is a chance that she will not remember anything. These words ring in Buck's head. What if she really doesn't remember anything? Would he have to win her love all over again? Would he have to propose to her again? Will they have to build everything again for another 5 years?
2 months later
The door opens. You came back from grocery shopping. Apparently, this is the house that you and Buck moved into after your wedding. Home sweet home, only you don't feel at home. You remember that you lived alone, there wasn't even a man on the horizon that you liked, turns out you're already married.
Buck is very sweet, he hasn't left your side for a second since you woke up. He showed you pictures of you together. Here you are at Bobby's birthday party, here you saw Jee for the first time, here you are at Chim and Maddie’s hospital wedding, here you are spending a free day at the beach. And you could remember those events, but you don't remember living them with Buck.
Yesterday Buck told you that you were supposed to fly to Europe together for the first time in 2 weeks. It's been your dream all your life and Buck was happy to make it a reality. He was happy to share memories with you that would keep you both warm in the future. But the trip will have to be canceled, because he doesn't want to overwhelm you.
“I know it’s a lot and you probably want to run away, but listen, I’m here if you need me. I know you don’t remember me, but I remember everything and my love will be enough for both of us for now.” — Buck put the bags on the floor and came over to you. He stopped in front of you and didn't know how to behave. He wanted to kiss you, but would it be too much? He wanted to hug you, but wouldn't that scare you off?
Seeing how he hesitated, you hugged him yourself. You hugged him to you as hard as you could. The thing is, you were very scared. But Buck instilled a sense of security, he was your safe place. You didn't remember him, but your body remembered exactly how to react to him. And you trusted that instinct.
So far, you have agreed to sleep in separate bedrooms. You didn't want to rush things, and he didn't want to push you. So when night fell, you said goodnight to each other and went to your rooms.
You lay down on the bed and put your head on the pillow, it smelled like Buck. His cologne, his shower gel, the whole room seemed to be filled with him. You looked at the bedside table and saw a photo of you together. So happy and beautiful, in the photo you were somewhere in the park.
“I promise I will remember you. For us.” — you said quietly to yourself and fell asleep.
It was a beautiful sunny day. You look at yourself in the mirror and you're wearing an amazing wedding dress. Your hair, makeup, jewelry — all this made you feel like a princess.
“Athena, I’m so nervous, I don't think I will remember my vows.” — you turned around to Athena while she was preparing your veil.
“(Y/N), you and Buck have been preparing for this wedding for six months, if something goes wrong, it will definitely be Chim that got into some shit again.” — she laughed and took your hand.
“Listen, don't memorize your vows, speak from the heart. Remember how he makes you feel, remember his every look and touch, remember how he looks at you. And don't forget to add his nickname at the end. What do you always call him?” — Athena looked into your eyes and smiled. She knew for sure that your vows would be perfect.
“Light of my life.”
You woke up and were breathing heavily. It was a flashback from your wedding. Of course, you always called him "light of my life." Because he saved you from the darkest stage of your life.
You had your favorite white tulips at the wedding. Buck wanted everyone to come in colorful outfits, but you insisted on a dress code. And the cake ended up being 5 times bigger than you expected, so at the end of the day you handed it out to each guest, so they could eat it at home.
You remembered. Panic began to take over your whole body. Or is it just your love for your husband has returned and your body is responding to it?
You lifted the blanket, got out of bed, and hurried to the room where Buck sleeps. But he wasn't sleeping, you saw the light in his room and opened the door.
“Buck…” — you whispered and felt tears on your cheeks.
“Hey. Hey, hey, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” — Buck saw how panicked you were and rushed to stand next to you. He put his hands on your shoulders and looked into your eyes. “Talk to me.”
“Light of my life.”
He froze. Did you remember? Or is he dreaming? He didn’t want to move to not scare the reality. He just wanted to stay in this moment.
“You don't like oranges, so we immediately told the pastry chef not to offer us cakes with oranges. You really want children, so on our second date we started choosing names for our children. When you were struck by lightning, you pretended to be a Flash for 3 months, and when I dyed my hair and didn't tell you about it, you started calling me because you didn't recognize me, even though I was standing next to you the whole time.” — you started rattling off the facts of your relationship quickly, as if you were afraid to forget, but you remembered everything.
You saw the tears in Buck's eyes and started crying even harder. You couldn't even imagine what he was going through these two months while you didn't remember anything.
“I knew you would remember.” — he said and had the biggest smile on his face. “C-can I kiss you?”
“Please.” — you said it and pulled him to you for a kiss. So desirable for both of you.
“Don’t cancel Europe, we need more memories.”
Buck just laughed, picked you up and carried you to the bed. It's going to be a long night.
