Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn (1987)
Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn or simply Evil Dead II is usually described as a remake of 1981’s Evil Dead but it isn’t really. It’s more that The Evil Dead was the draft/proof of concept and this is the finished work. Bruce Campbell plays the same character, some of the same concepts come back, but there's no continuity. Here, we have a horror comedy done right, with plenty of big laughs, “yuck!” moments and scares tying them together.
Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) and his girlfriend, Linda (Denise Bixler) are vacationing in a seemingly abandoned cabin in the woods when they discover a tape of archaeologist Raymond Knowby reading passages from the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis. The incantations unleash an evil force upon the couple, and later, Knowby’s daughter Annie, her research partner Ed Getley (Richard Domeier), and their hired help: Jake (Dan Hicks) and his girlfriend, Bobby Joe (Kassie Wesley).
Evil Dead II is a comfortable middle between the scrappy “anything goes, let’s just do it” filmmaking of the original film and the slick blockbusters Sam Raimi would later direct. From the very first frame, the camerawork tells you this movie is going to be something special. As the evil force chases Ash through the cabin, they take turns smashing through doors, going around corners, and doing anything they can do to fulfill their objective: him? Get away. It? Get close to him. It’s an exhilarating sequence that’s at once panic-inducing and hilarious. It perfectly summarizes what this movie will be like. Yeah, the film might still be a little rough around the edges - there’s a stop-motion monster later on that isn’t all that convincing - but the ideas are there. It takes about 3 minutes for Evil Dead II to unleash its sinister force upon the protagonist and once that’s started, it never lets up. Once the credits roll, you won’t believe everything was packed within only 84 minutes. This film dares to tell us the things we might’ve thought of but would’ve never mustered up the courage to ask, like: what do undead eyeballs taste like?
With scenes that involve Ash fighting with his own demonically possessed hand and heads that can be lobbed off as easily as apples on a shelf, it’s easy to remember the big laughs. The beauty of Evil Dead II is that it also has genuine scares. For example, The scene where Ash realizes the entire cabin around him is evil. The lights, the doors, the walls, the pictures and baubles hanging on the hooks, the very air itself. He's sprayed with gore like it’s coming from a high-pressure hose and then it disappears like nothing happened. It evokes a particular kind of Hell, a place whose tortures have no limits and where time has no meaning. The film previously established that Ash only needs to last until sunrise. After the lamp starts cackling at his futile efforts to fend off the dark forces, that might as well be a million years away. What else can he (and you) do but laugh too? This whole thing is some kind of cosmic joke at his expense.
Evil Dead II is a riot. It’s full of memorable lines, sights and moments. For so many reasons, this movie shouldn’t work but it does. It does so well that it makes this sort of thing look easy. You might be left wondering what it is you just watched but there’s no way you'll forget the experience. (On Blu-ray, June 2, 2022)

Evil Dead II

The characters in Evil Dead: The Game have dialogue if you view their models in your collection! More characters/plaintext description under under read more.
Ash Williams (The Evil Dead): Delta, tuned up and gassed -- check. Suitcases, TV, football, and blankets in the trunk -- check. Map to the cabin -- check. Worthless magnifying glass necklace boxed up like actual jewelry and in my pocket -- check. Linda’s gonna love it. She’ll never take it off.
Ash Williams (Evil Dead 2): I know I’m punching above my weight with Linda, but the important thing is she doesn’t know it. Heck, she doesn’t even realize that piece-of-crap necklace I gave her came out of a gumball machine.
Ash Williams (Army of Darkness): I had a real life once. A job, a car, a girlfriend. Together, we drove to a cabin in the mountains. An archaeologist had come to this remote place to translate and study his latest find, Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, the Book of the Dead. It was never meant for the world of the living. The book awoke something dark in the woods.
Ash Williams (Ash vs Evil Dead): I’ve been called a lot of things: El Jefe, the savior of humanity, the boomstick butcher with the chainsaw hand. The truth is, I’m just your everyday, charming, ruggedly handsome dude from Michigan. I didn’t ask for any of this, but when evil picked a fight with Ashley J. Williams, they picked the wrong dude.
Annie Knowby: The Castle of Kandar is an obsession for my dad. I guess that’s where I picked it up. We were exploring the castle’s rear chamber when we found it -- Naturom Demonto, the Book of the Dead. Mom and Dad took it back to their cabin to translate in peace. I stayed behind here at Kandar to find the missing pages.
Scotty: Way out in the woods with the trees and the moonlight, what girl can resist that romantic setting? Shelly and I have been going out for about a month and a half, but this weekend is gonna kick it up a notch. Nature brings out the primal instincts, you know?
Henry the Red: As Lord of the Northlands, I have been witness to all measure of hazard and hardship, but nothing approaches the abomination that now threatens out land. At the behest of the hero from the sky, I will put aside my grievances with Arthur in the south. I will ride with my men into battle against evil itself. Blows, blood, and death, I say!
Ed Getley: As an associate professor, to be invited to join Professor Knowby’s expedition of Castle Kandar was the highlight of my career. I could never have imagined that it’s also where I’d find the woman of my dreams. From the moment I saw her, the professor’s daughter, Annie, took my breath away. In that instant, I knew that I’d follow her into the mouth of hell.
Kelly Maxwell: ValueStop was supposed to be a temporary layover for me, a pit stop to gas up and get my bearings before the magnificent future ahead. I don’t plan anymore. I don’t even think about the future. While everyone else dreams of peace on Earth and puppies, my eyes are wide open to the evil closing in around us.
Amanda Fisher: I can’t explain what happened to Detective Carson in that house. He was my partner, my friend, and then he was...something else. He was sick. At first, I thought I couldn’t trust my eyes, then I saw the same thing again in the bookstore and the diner. This Ash guy isn’t someone I’d normally trust, but at this point he’s my best option to stop this thing.
Cheryl Williams: I always feel like an outsider with Ash and his friends, like the tag-along little sister. Scotty doesn’t make it any easier, teasing me all the time. I don’t even know why Ash likes him. Ash says this’ll be a fun weekend, but I don’t know. Stuck in this creepy old cabin for a weekend with this group? I’ll be glad when it’s over.
Pablo Simon Bolivar: When I was a kid, my Uncle Brujo would say “Fear the devil. Evil is always waiting in the shadows.” He told me that when the time came, El Jefe would rise to stand against it. I always thought he was crazy. Now, I may not be El Jefe, but I can see the time has come -- the time to rise and stand against the evil.
Lord Arthur: For time beyond measure, the brave people of Castle Kandar have stood as the final bastion of hope against the terrors of the Deadites. Under my leadership, our people have kept safe this region, while we await the prophesized hero from the sky to deliver us. But I fear our time runs short, and our end is nigh.
Henrietta: Fresh souls run scared in the night, and sweet Henrietta is hungry! Bring me to them, and I will do the rest.
Eligos: Release me, and together we will torment the living until they beg for death.
Evil Ash: I live again! I shall command every worm-infested son of a bitch that ever died in battle!

Evil Dead 2:
In 1987 a movie loved by many realeased to the world, some may have called it a sequel, others a remake. This movie is known as evil dead 2, also known as my favorite movie of all times; for the fact it takes in account horror as well as Psychedelic features.
Evil dead 2 was made as a "Re-quel ", Sam Raimi, the director, lost the rights to the original Evil dead 2. So he casted all new people (minus Bruce Campbell), though it was a shorter for the fact it was supposed to be a recap of the original evil dead, so he could continue the series.
Plot:
"Ash Williams and his girlfriend, Linda, take a romantic vacation to a seemingly abandoned cabin in the woods. While in the cabin, Ash plays a tape of archaeologist Raymond Knowby, the cabin's previous inhabitant, reciting passages from the Book of the Dead, Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, which he has discovered during an archaeological dig. The recorded incantation unleashes an evil force (also known as the Kandarian Demon) that kills and later possesses Linda, turning her into a "deadite". Ash is then forced to decapitate his girlfriend with a shovel and bury her near the cabin.
At dawn, the evil force throws Ash through the woods. Ash briefly becomes possessed by the demon, but when day breaks the force is gone, and Ash returns to normal. Ash attempts to flee the area, but finds that the bridge leading to the cabin has been destroyed. The spirit chases Ash back to the cabin where Linda's revived head attacks him, biting his hand. Ash brings Linda's severed head to the shed, where her headless body attacks him with a chainsaw. Ash gains the upper hand and slashes the deadite Linda to death, killing her a second and final time. Ash's right hand becomes possessed and tries to kill him, and Ash severs it with his chainsaw. Ash then attempts to shoot the severed hand with a shotgun. The hand mocks him and ultimately gets away.
Meanwhile, Knowby's daughter, Annie, and her research partner, Ed Getley, return from the dig with the missing pages of the Necronomicon in tow, only to find the destroyed bridge. They enlist the help of locals Jake and Bobby Joe to guide them along an alternate trail to the cabin. The four of them find an embattled Ash at the cabin. Mistakenly concluding that Ash murdered the Knowbys, they lock him in the cabin's cellar.
The four new arrivals listen to a recording of Knowby detailing that his wife Henrietta was possessed by the Kandarian Demon, and that he killed her and buried her in the cellar. Henrietta, now a deadite, possesses Ed; Ash dismembers him with an axe. Bobby Joe tries to escape but is attacked by the demon trees and dragged to her death. Annie translates two of the Necronomicon's pages before Jake turns on them and throws the pages into the cellar, forcing them at gunpoint to go look for Bobby Joe. Ash becomes possessed once again and incapacitates Jake. Annie retreats to the cabin and accidentally stabs Jake (mistaking him for the possessed Ash) and drags him to the cellar door, where he is killed by Henrietta. Deadite Ash tries to kill Annie, but returns to his normal self when he sees Linda's necklace.
With Annie's help, Ash modifies the chainsaw and attaches it to the stump where his right hand had been. After finding the missing pages of the Necronomicon in the cellar, Ash kills Henrietta. The trees outside begin to unleash destruction on the cabin. Annie reveals that she has only read the first half of the incantation. The woods attack the house as Annie starts to read the second half. As she reads it, she is stabbed in the back by Ash's severed hand with the Kandarian dagger. She falls to the floor and manages to complete the incantation before succumbing to her wound. The incantation opens up a whirling temporal vortex/portal which not only draws in the demon, but nearby trees, Ash's Oldsmobile Delta 88, and Ash himself.
Ash and his Oldsmobile land in the year 1300 AD. He is then confronted by a group of knights who initially mistake him for a deadite, but they are quickly distracted when a real deadite appears. Ash blasts the harpy-like deadite with his shotgun and is hailed as a hero who has come to save them, at which point he breaks down and screams in anguish." - Wikipedia

Men Outside of Time
Henry the Red was no stranger to sleeping on the ground, but he be damned if it never got easier. Getting to his feet he felt a sharp pain in his hip from where he had lain on his sword. Brushing the dirt from his tabard he looked up in wonder at the clear light from the moon. Even though Arthur’s men were always hard on their trail, he’d never been so rushed to sleep that he’d neglect getting undressed or finding proper storage for his weapon. Picking up his sword, he made a face of disgust at the dull and pitted blade. The hilt shape was similar, but he’d never let his sword reach such a state. He’d have to round up the men again for a lesson on proper weapon care. Looking about the lightly wooded area he couldn’t see the rest of his command. Had he fallen in battle? Surely they would never leave their general in such a state, he knew his men to be loyal and committed the cause of maintaining his hold against Arthur’s greed. Patting his tabard again he felt no wounds, and the soreness of the ground was starting to fade. His eyes adjusted to the gloom around him and he saw two bodies not far off, one wearing a full suit of armor and the other appeared to only be dressed in a garment of soft hides. Moving toward the latter figure he shook the man awake, hoping to determine if he was friend or foe against the slumbering knight.
–
Ed felt the hand shaking his shoulder and curled tighter into a ball. “Not yet Annie, it’s not even light out.”
A deep voice answered him, with a light Scottish tinge to it. “I be no lass my friend, and dawn comes soon on the horizon.”
Jumping up with a start Ed blinked his bleary eyes at the stocky, long haired man standing before him. He was wearing a red tabard with a sash and a patch depicting a castle turret. Ed yawned and stretched. “If you are with the reenactor group, we told your liaison last week that we’ll contact you by phone when we’re done with our dig. Then you can take all the photographs you want ok?”
Henry looked at him quizzically then chuckled. “Your manner of speech seems familiar to me, though your words be strange. Are you perhaps another traveler?” Pinching the sleeve of Ed’s brown leather jacket he examined the stitching before the other man pulled away. “Your garb is of a craft I have only seen on one other.”
