You know what I'm actually gonna be mad if this ends up being an "oofie ouchie I got stabbed but I'm totally fine and it doesn't even hurt that bad" situation and not an "this was an actual assassination attempt on me by someone that is aware that I am a sovereign dragon and imbued the blade with abyssal magic and if I do not get treatment then something bad could potentially happen" kind of situation because then what am I supposed to do with all these thoughts of Neuvillette being seriously injured and out of commission for some time while he's forced to recover away from the public eye? Where am I going to put these thoughts of Eclair sitting beside him, pressing a cool, damp rag to his feverish skin while he tries to reassure her and tell her that he's fine between strained breaths?

And yeah, maybe he actually is fine and this is just the initial stages of his body purging the abyssal rot that has tried to take hold after that blade pierced him (even though it was a miniscule amount and he's well aware it won't take root), but Eclair doesn't know that. All she knows is that she's never seen Neuvillette injured like this before. She didn't know he could be injured like this -- should he even be able to be injured like this?

His breathing should be even and silent, save for his pensive hums and sighs, not shuddering and gasping out of his chest like this. His gaze should be sharp and clear, not heavy lidded and as bleary as it is now. And his voice, usually firm and stern and gentle, should not be coming out as little more than a strained, hoarse whisper - even if his reassurances are as gentle as they'd usually be.

Basically: I need him to get fucked up so Eclair can help take care of him okay. I need it. I'm starving.

Would you believe me if I said I have thought about this so much...that I think about him wearing earrings all the time like it's almost canon for me at this point for me to imagine him with earrings in during his court appearances because I am insane...

I actually don't see her wearing earrings very often (they tend to get lost and/or stuck in her hair!) BUT! She does compliment Neuvillette when they're in formal settings by wearing necklaces that match his earrings. You know, like these:

Maybe it's just my need to feel wanted and protected and cared for but I cannot stop thinking about Eclair, who is so used to being everyone else's knight, being protected and looked out for by those closest to her. Not in a coddling sort of way, but in a way that still manages to catch her off guard. Damsel in distress moments. Kind of? I'm not exactly sure how to describe it aaaa

Sorry but um...Neuvillette holding Eclair’s injured hand in his own, studying and observing it while she tries to brush it off or claim that it's really nothing compared to the injuries she gave the treasure hoarder she was arresting, and taking it upon himself to help heal her, just a bit. It's not his specialty and he's never attempted it on a human but...this is what you do for others you care for, isn't it? You try to help them and do what you can to ease their pain.

He doesn't mind when she lapses into silence, he does need to focus after all, but, well...he can't help but silently enjoy the intimacy of the moment.

Ughh, when he's checking to make sure she's alright and asking if she has any lingering pain, but she assures him that she's fine, maybe even better than before, and proves it by moving some of his loose hair and saying something cheesy like "see? Good as new." and he can FEEL the way his affections for her swirl in his chest...someone get them away from me...
