Marine Corps and Navy emblems adorn several panels at the Iwo Jima display in the National Museum of the Marine Corps. Each emblem represents a serviceman who lost their life during the battle.
March 26, 1945, marked the end of the 36-day long battle that resulted in over 26,000 American casualties, including 6,800 killed in action.
The battle for Iwo Jima also saw 27 Medals of Honor awarded to Marine and Navy personnel for gallantry above and beyond the call of duty.

The USMC is over 219 years of romping, stomping, hell, death and destruction. The finest fighting machine the world has ever seen. We were born in a bomb crater, our mother was an M-16 and our father was the devil.
Each moment that I live is an additional threat upon your life. I am a rough-looking, roving soldier of the sea. I am cocky, self-centered, overbearing, and I do not know the meaning of fear, for I am fear itself. I am a green, amphibious monster made of blood and guts who arose from the sea, festering on anti-Americans throughout the globe. Whenever it may arise, and when my time comes, I will die a glorious death on the battle field, giving my life to mom, the Corps, and the American flag.
We stole the eagle from the Air Force, the anchor from the Navy, and the rope from the Army. On the 7th day, while God rested, we over-ran his perimeter and stole the globe, and we've been running the show ever since. We live like soldiers and talk like sailors and slap the hell out of both of them. Soldier by day, lover by night, drunkard by choice, Marine by God!

It’s a work in progress. I am happy with it thus far. I have a long way to go, but that’s okay. I can be pleased with my progress 😊
I hid all the layers but the blackline (top) for this picture.
Here’s my thoughts.
The hat is still an issue, looks like a lopsided halo. I might need to get my paws on an actual one. I’m trying to mentally rotate something I’ve never held, nor seen from the underside.
The nose still needs a little work, but this is an angle I’m not used to drawing. I spent a lot of time today redlining and redrawing. It’s not just about making the nose realistic. Because she’s a pin-up, she needs to have a cute nose. I can’t lean purely into “technical anatomical accuracy,” I need to make sure it’s aesthetically pleasing.
The final thing that bugs me is NOT anything I have control over. The tines on the anchor do not match.
That is -accurate!- to the Marines’ Eagle-on-Globe, and it bugs the heck out of me! I want to know WHY it is not the same. What’s the symbolism? The history? The heckin’ reason?!?
The eagle feathers on the wings aren’t exactly 100% to the emblem, but I took artistic liberties there to make it look more correct. I make no apologies.

Air Control Training Squadron (ACTS)
In honor of coming back from such a long hiatus, today we are going to double post, expanding on some of the concepts explored in the previous post, while also mixing it up a little. Should be a lot of fun.
The cover for this post is a photo of me still in uniform, back when I was stationed in Twentynine Palms and still a part of Air Control Training Squadron (ACTS). I actually love the fact that ACTS was my first unit, especially now that I am able to zoom out a little bit, lay in my own bed in my own home, in safety, peace and quiet, with a Torah by my bedside.
The only thing that could possibly make me feel more Jewish than sitting in my home with all the electronic and lights off, (and aside from living in a dedicated Jewish Community) would be if my Chumash was replaced by a Sefer Torah and my phone was replaced by Parchment and candlelight.
Tumblr media
Honesty, today feels like a mini-shabbat which is a very unexpected surprise, that also feels like a reward for my recent change in schedule.
Previously, I had set my bedtime to midnight, meaning I wouldn’t be asleep until about 1am (or later in some cases) and that I would be waking up only to immediately go to work. I now realize how insane that sounds.
Like imagine waking up and the first thing you do is check in and go “Hi Boss” like some of the more interesting characters in my office do.
I am actually not joking either, there is literally a girl who genuinely says “Good Morning, Good Lunch, and Good Night Boss” to another one of our coworkers. Both girls come off as real chowderheads in the most endearing way, one because I imagine she actually does respect her “Boss”, and the other for actually taking her role seriously. The second girl only says “Good Morning Boss”, because the first girl said “Good Morning Team” in the first place.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Work
I genuinely dislike (and borderline hate) the fact that my story was never included on the Towson Marines Instagram Page. It genuinely grinds my gears.
At the same time, the SSGT who recruited me is also not on the social media page, so I shouldn’t be too surprised by this fact.
While a part of me wonders why I didn’t choose my recruiter more carefully in the beginning, I don’t actually have to go back too far to see what was missing in my decision making, you can literally just scroll this post to see the secret ingredient, and even though there aren’t any candles on this night, and I don’t actually have a glass to raise or a party to give the actual speech too, I’d still like to give a huge shoutout (and call out) to SSGT Caillouet.
This picture was taken on March 22, 2022 @ 1:33 PM, somewhere in Dundalk, at a High School in that area, back before I was in the DEP program and back when SSGT Caillouet was still an E-5
Tumblr media
Notinregs
What I love about the picture is two things:
It shows who I was before the Marines
I’ve seen SSGT recently and he hasn’t changed
HES NOT WEARING A COVER OUTDOORS
No seriously. This picture may save my life one day. Historically, GySgt Howard and I have not seen eye to eye on some major subjects. Namely, my relationship with Gidley and my career in the Marines in general, as he seemed to be under the impression that I confessed my love for her and was rejected, and that I should move on with my career and find something “Better than the Marines Corps”.
Obviously, he doesn’t know me. The Marine Corps may be the dumbest organization on the planet, full of literal goons, goblins, and crayon eaters, but nothing better than the Marine Corps. Nothing. I wore my Eagle, Globe, and Anchor with pride, every day up until the day it was stripped from me.
Gidley filed a protective order on me because she was either afraid of me or for me. I’d like to believe she was genuinely worried about my mental health (as I was with hers) both because we were friends, and because I did not “hide” my mental health. It was fairly public knowledge that I would prioritize therapy and recovery meetings, going to great efforts to attend them, and maybe GySgt Howard has spectacular mental health and can’t relate, but personally I need therapy and recovery services in the total absence of religious services. I need one or the other.
I’m so mad I have so much to write about especially when I realize I could have been doing it this the whole time, but again, the missing ingredients are all over this post. There were no established Jewish Services in Twentynine Palms, very few Jews in general, and very few that I actually had a meaningful connection with, but I’d like to wrap this post up before actual Shabbat, so I’ll just wrap it up.
Tumblr media
At times, the world is cold, dark and chaotic. Even after the genesis of light, nature, warmth, and humanity, those things still fade before they eventually return.
GySgt Howard was instrumental in removing me from my home in the desert, but can you blame him? He had never met me as a civilian, had never met my recruiters, didn’t know my story, we did not have Judaism in common, and even though we are much closer in age than a majority of our peers, the structure of our unit, combined with the differences in rank would make it impossible for us to have a normal conversation together. We had, and likely still do, have so much in common.
Endless love for our families, guns, and a love for the Marine Corps.
He would not only be appalled by SSGT Caillouet not wearing his cover outdoors, he would also understand the gravity of him not only doing it with a member of the DEP in tow, but doing it in an extremely visible area.
It’s one thing to not wear your uniform correctly in the comfort of your home, in the exclusive company of other Marines, or when the cameras are off, but this is photographic evidence of sabotage.
How could I, a civilian, correct a Marine?
How could I, a junior enlisted, correct an NCO?
GySgt Howard was the one who suggested I expose my recruiter(s), and at first, I didn’t want to, feeling a sense of indebtedness for them allowing me the opportunity to be become a Marine. Also, they did their job, I literally asked my recruiter “Get me in the Marines as fast as possible, and he got me into the Marines in a reasonable time. I’m not sure what happened to my actual recruiter, but I hope he’s doing well.
I was also very upset with GySgt Howard when he sent me home. At the time, I really wanted to continue my education (and by extension, my career) but it’s like he knew I had better things to do. By leaving the desert, even though I had to turn in my uniforms, I was able to spend precious time with my mother.
In fact, the time in between me leaving the desert, and writing this post, I’ve probably spent more physical time with my mother than I did in my entire adult life. My whole family actually. I saw my mother, my brother, and my auntie literally everyday, and everyday we would do nothing together. We’d smoke cigarettes and cigars, eat, watch movies and tv, and watch the time fly by. I watched my mom come back from the brink of death. I am so proud of her.
Tumblr media
She texted me the other day and I immediately called her and yapped for an hour about “work”, I know she was sick of me 😅 it’s hard not to become a yapalohic when you finally find worthwhile subject matter.

Old Federal Building and Post Office (Howard M. Metzenbaum U.S. Courthouse)
201 Superior Ave., NE.
Cleveland, OH
The Old Federal Building and Post Office, known formerly as the Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse and now as the Howard M. Metzenbaum U.S. Courthouse, is a historic courthouse and post office building located on Superior Avenue on Public Square in downtown Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Built in 1910, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its north side faces The Mall, and it is a monumental anchor to Cleveland's Civic Mall. Fronting both the Mall and Public Square, it was the first building erected under Cleveland's 1903 Group Plan, which illustrates the urban planning ideals of the City Beautiful movement.
New York architect Arnold W. Brunner (1857–1925) designed the building under the direction of Supervising Architect of the Treasury James Knox Taylor (1857–1929). The Federal Building formed one half of the Mall's termination at Superior Avenue. Cleveland's Public Library (1925), forming the other half of this terminus, emulates the Federal Building in scale, mass, and general overall appearance. The Howard M. Metzenbaum U.S. Courthouse is one of Cleveland's great monumental public buildings, skillfully illustrating the strong, classical characteristics of Beaux-Arts architecture. The five-story, granite-faced building was constructed between 1903 and 1910. The building covers the entire city block bounded by Rockwell Avenue on the north, Superior Avenue on the south, East Third Street on the east, and Public Square on the west.
Inspiration for the design of this Beaux Arts building came from the Place de la Concorde in Paris as well as the work of French architect and theorist Francois Blondel. The resulting design presents a rusticated first floor and 42-foot-high Corinthian order columns and pilasters on each elevation. These massive columns and pilasters define the sequence of window bays on the second, third, and fourth stories. Rusticated stone-arched windows with carved keystones adorn the first story. The more ornate second-story windows are capped with classically inspired pediments and balustraded sills. The third- and fourth-story window openings have molded surrounds and bracketed sills. Screening the fifth floor is an expansive entablature capped by a balustraded parapet that rises nine feet. A low-hipped, standing-seam copper roof crowns the building with attic dormer windows facing the interior light court. The parapets are adorned with shields and carved stone eagles at the building's corners.
The main entrance to the building is centered on the Superior Avenue facade. Granite steps lead to three rusticated stone arches once fitted with cast bronze doors and ornate bronze lanterns hang from cast bronze brackets. The original doors have been replaced. Flanking the primary entrance are two important sculptures executed by the famed sculptor Daniel Chester French (1850–1931). Jurisprudence is located on the Public Square corner, while Commerce sits at the corner of East Third Street and Superior Avenue. Jurisprudence is personified by a mother figure clasping her baby while a criminal crouches in chains. Commerce is depicted as a female figure holding a model ship in one hand while her other arm rests on a globe representing the opportunity for world trade. At her right is Electricity, symbolized by a female figure holding a magnet catching electrical sparks. Steam, located to her left, is represented by a male figure grasping a wheel.
On the interior, the grand main lobby dominates the first floor as it runs east to west across the entire length of the building. The floors, walls, and vaulted ceiling of the lobby are surfaced with marble. Original chandeliers illuminate the space. The postal service windows are located along the lobby's north wall. Marble stairs wrap around three sides of the elevator shafts, located at the east and west ends of the public lobby. Cast-bronze, spread-wing eagles standing on globes appear over each pair of elevator doors. Corner offices in the upper floors are adorned with impressive murals depicting significant events in the history of Cleveland. Among the magnificent artworks are City of Cleveland Welcomes the Arts by Will Hicok Low (1853–1932), and the Battle of Lake Erie by Rufus Fairchild Zogbaum (1849–1925). Murals in the ceremonial courtrooms on the third floor are The Common Law by Henry Siddons Mowbray (1858–1928), and The Law by Edwin Howland Blashfield (1848–1936).
The building was listed with the National Register of Historic Places on May 3, 1974, as the Old Federal Building and Post Office. On May 27, 1998, the building was officially renamed in honor of U.S. Senator Howard Metzenbaum of Ohio. A major renovation project to restore public spaces and modernize the mechanical systems was initiated in 2002. Although the primary activities of the U.S. District Court system have moved to the new Carl B. Stokes Federal Court House Building a few blocks west, the ceremonial courtrooms in the Metzenbaum Courthouse will continue to be used for public hearings and proceedings. New client agencies moving into the renovated building will include the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, the Office of the U.S. Trustee, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

How to Choose the Best Gold Coins for Your Investment Portfolio
Tumblr media
Choosing the right gold coins for your investment portfolio can be a nuanced endeavor, blending the allure of precious metal ownership with strategic financial planning. Across the globe, from the American Gold Eagle minted by the United States Mint to the Kangaroo coins from Perth Mint in Australia, investors have access to a variety of gold coins, each with its own rich history and investment potential. Navigating this diverse market requires understanding the different types of gold coins available, evaluating their liquidity, and planning their secure storage. Knowing how to assess premiums over the spot price and the reputation of sellers can also ensure your investment withstands the test of time. Keep reading to unlock the secrets to selecting the best gold coins for your investment portfolio.
Understanding the Different Types of Gold Coins for Investment
Tumblr media
Stepping into the world of gold coin investment unlocks a treasure chest of options, yet it can often seem as labyrinthine as the vaults that safeguard these precious assets. Distinguishing among the illustrious lineup of gold coins favored by investors around the globe forms the bedrock of savvy investing. Understanding the nuanced differences between bullion, proof, and numismatic coins suits an investor with the ability to tailor their portfolio to their specific financial landscape and investment objectives. Moreover, grasping the importance of purity levels in gold coins—often measured in fineness—empowers one to make informed decisions. These fundamentals are not just mere details; they are the keystones of constructing a resilient and prosperous investment portfolio. Identify the Most Popular Gold Coins Among Investors Among the pantheon of gold coins coveted by investors, certain names stand out for their reliability, brand recognition, and sovereign backing: the American Gold Eagle, the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, and the Australian Gold Nugget/Kangaroo. These coins not only represent a secure investment but they also embody the rich history and artistic craftsmanship of their respective mints: the United States Mint, the Royal Canadian Mint, and the Perth Mint. Each of these coins carries with it a legacy of fineness, legal tender status, and a high degree of liquidity, making them attractive to both novice and seasoned investors: CoinMintFinenessLegal TenderAmerican Gold EagleUnited States Mint91.67% GoldYesCanadian Gold Maple LeafRoyal Canadian Mint99.99% GoldYesAustralian Gold Nugget/KangarooPerth Mint99.99% GoldYes Differentiate Between Bullion, Proof, and Numismatic Coins Navigating through the realms of gold coin investment, it's crucial to understanding the distinct categories that gold coins fall into: bullion, proof, and numismatic coins. Bullion coins, for example, are primarily purchased for their precious metal content, valued closely to the current market price of gold, making them a steadfast pillar in most investment portfolios. On the flip side, proof and numismatic coins carry a different appeal, where their value isn't solely anchored in the gold they contain but also in their rarity, historical significance, and aesthetic qualities. Proof coins are specially minted with a mirror-like finish and are often part of limited editions, whereas numismatic coins are vintage or collector coins, each with its own story and potentially higher value over time. Assess the Purity Levels of Gold Coins When I'm advising on or considering gold coins for an investment portfolio, I always make a point to evaluate their purity levels. This metric, often signposted as 'fineness,' quantifies the actual gold content within a coin in comparison to other metals or alloys that might be present. A higher fineness score, reaching up to 99.99% in coins like the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf or the Australian Gold Nugget/Kangaroo, typically denotes a more valuable asset in terms of pure gold content. Determining a gold coin's purity isn't just an exercise in numbers; it directly affects the investment's performance. Coins with higher gold purity are less susceptible to corrosion or tarnish, maintaining their condition and visual appeal over time, which can be a critical factor for long-term value retention and attractiveness to buyers. This makes understanding a coin's fineness an indispensable step in curating a gold investment that's both resilient and aesthetically appealing to future purchasers or collectors. Now that we've navigated the fascinating world of gold coins, let's leap into the heart of the market. Armed with knowledge, we're set to analyze trends and pinpoint the best moments to invest!
Analyzing the Gold Coin Market Before Making a Purchase
Tumblr media
Before welcoming gold coins into your investment portfolio, a thorough analysis of the gold coin market is indispensable. Embarking on this journey requires a keen eye on fluctuating gold prices and emerging market trends that could signal opportune moments to buy or sell. Grasping the various elements that sway gold coin prices equips you with the foresight needed to make judicious decisions. Beyond the immediate, delving into the historical performance of different gold coins unveils patterns of resilience and growth, guiding toward informed selections that complement your investment landscape. Initiating this analytical process forms the backbone of strategic gold coin investment, harmonizing your portfolio's objectives with the realities of the market. Keep Track of Gold Prices and Market Trends To ensure the precision of my gold investment moves, I diligently monitor the fluctuating prices of gold and the trends that sweep through the market. Keeping an observant eye on these dynamics enables me to identify both the opportune moments to purchase gold coins and when to hold off: IndicatorDescriptionImpact on Gold PricesGlobal Economic StabilityReflects overall economic health and investor confidenceOften inversely related; uncertainty boosts gold pricesInflation RatesMeasure of the rate at which the general level of prices for goods and services is risingHigher inflation tends to increase gold prices as it's seen as a hedge against currency devaluationCentral Bank PoliciesDecisions on interest rates and monetary policyLooser monetary policies can lower currency value, raising gold demand Moreover, by harnessing insights from current financial news and forecasts, I am better positioned to gauge future market trends. This analytical rigor not only fortifies my investment decisions against the complexities of the gold market but also empowers me to optimize my portfolio's performance in alignment with broader economic indicators. Understand the Factors That Influence Gold Coin Prices To discern the best gold coins for an investment portfolio, an acute understanding of factors that sway their prices is paramount. Key among these is the spot price of gold, which acts as a global benchmark for the day-to-day valuation of this precious metal: a critical indicator for when to buy or sell. - Examining mint reputation and coin rarity can illuminate potential value beyond weight and purity. - Seasonal demand variations and geopolitical climate also play their parts, subtly shaping market conditions and investor sentiment. - Furthermore, investigating the collectibility and artistic merit of coins offers insight into their numismatic value, which may appreciate independently of gold market trends. Additionally, comprehending how taxation and fees interplay with gold coin ownership influences the net gain from an investment. It’s not solely about the intrinsic value of the metal but also the overheads that accompany buying, storing, and eventually selling the asset. This knowledge equips investors with a sharper lens through which to view potential acquisitions, ensuring choices align with both short-term objectives and long-term financial health. Research Historical Performance of Different Gold Coins To identify which gold coins might amplify the robustness of my investment portfolio, I turn to their historical performance as my guide. This exploration includes understanding how each coin has fared over years and even decades, during both turbulent and stable financial climates. Insights from their past can reveal patterns: some coins may demonstrate remarkable resilience in the face of economic downturns, while others might benefit disproportionately during times of prosperity. These histories contribute significantly to predicting possible future performance: Coin NameYears of Strong PerformanceImpact of Economic ConditionsAmerican Gold Eagle2008-2012, 2020Thrives in economic uncertaintyCanadian Gold Maple Leaf2001-2005, 2011-2015Benefits from stable gold prices and market demandAustralian Gold Kangaroo1999-2003, 2016-2018Performs well during both stable and volatile markets By comparing these historical trends, I equip myself with the knowledge to choose gold coins that not only enrich my portfolio's diversity but also solidify its defense against market unpredictability. Venturing into the gold coin market demands more than a keen eye for precious metals. Next up, let's uncover the secrets behind choosing reputable gold coin sellers, ensuring your investment shines as brightly as your newly acquired treasures.
Evaluating the Reputation of Gold Coin Sellers
Tumblr media
Choosing the right gold coins for your portfolio requires not just an understanding of the coins themselves but also where you're buying them from. The market is vast, and navigating through it demands diligence. Key to this is engaging with reputable dealers who have staked their reputation on the quality and authenticity of their merchandise. Positive reviews from other investors, credentials that speak to their standing in the precious metals community, and memberships in recognized associations can all serve as indicators of a dealer’s trustworthiness. Equally, understanding the nuances of a seller's return policies and guarantees furnishes an additional layer of security, ensuring that your investment is protected. This careful evaluation of a dealer's credibility forms the foundation of a solid investment strategy, safeguarding my assets and providing peace of mind. Search for Reputable Dealers With Positive Reviews My journey toward acquiring gold coins for my portfolio invariably leads me to conduct meticulous research on dealers. I prioritize those with stellar reviews across platforms like Better Business Bureau, TrustPilot, and financial forums, where the experiences of fellow investors illuminate the reliability and integrity of a seller. Positive feedback, especially those detailing customer service excellence, instills confidence that I'm engaging with a reputable entity. Moreover, I value dealerships that have transparent, positive interactions with their customers online. Observing how a dealer responds to inquiries or addresses concerns on public forums offers me a glimpse into their commitment to customer satisfaction. A dealer who actively maintains a positive online presence and swiftly resolves any potential issues demonstrates a level of professionalism and respect for their clientele, reassuring me of their trustworthiness as a source for my investment needs. Verify Seller Credentials and Association Memberships In my quest to enhance my investment portfolio with gold coins, I place a high premium on validating the credentials and association memberships of sellers. This step is fundamental, as it helps in aligning with dealers that uphold the high standards of the precious metals industry, ensuring my investments are both genuine and legally sourced. Ensuring a seller is a member of recognized industry associations, such as the Professional Numismatists Guild or the American Numismatic Association, grants me confidence in their expertise and ethical practices. These affiliations act as a seal of approval, signaling that the dealer adheres to the strict ethical and professional guidelines required by these bodies, offering me an additional layer of security in my investment decisions. Understand the Return Policies and Guarantees Offered Knowing a seller's return policy and any guarantees they offer is akin to having a safety net beneath your investment pursuits. It's essential for me to understand these aspects thoroughly because they directly affect the level of risk I'm taking on. If a gold coin doesn't meet my expectations or if there's an unexpected issue, a clear and fair return policy ensures I can rectify the situation without significant loss. Guarantees of authenticity and quality are another cornerstone of my buying criteria. When a dealer offers these assurances, it tells me they stand behind the integrity and value of their gold coins. This kind of commitment not only bolsters my confidence in the purchase but also reinforces the trustworthiness of the dealer, making it easier for me to make informed and secure investment choices. Shifting gears, let's dive into the liquidity of gold coins, a factor that can supercharge your portfolio's flexibility. The adventure continues as we explore how these treasures convert into cash.
Considering the Liquidity of Gold Coins for Your Portfolio
Tumblr media
Transitioning to the liquidity aspect of gold coins within your investment portfolio requires a refined strategy, ensuring you're not just parking your money but also enabling its smooth re-entry into the market when desired. Evaluating the ease with which specific types of gold coins can be sold, scrutinizing the market demand for various coins, and comparing the buyback policies of different sellers are pivotal steps in this process. These considerations directly impact my ability to not only recoup my investment but also capitalize on potential profit margins. This segment of my investment strategy sharpens my focus on selecting gold coins that promise not just value growth but also flexibility and ease of liquidation. Evaluate the Ease of Selling Specific Gold Coin Types When assessing the ease of selling various gold coin types, I direct my attention toward widely recognized and high-demand coins such as the American Gold Eagle and the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf. Their universal recognition and acceptance not only in the United States and Canada but around the globe make them a more liquid option, facilitating swift and advantageous sales whenever necessary. I also consider the market's current preferences and trends to gauge which gold coin types will be easier to liquidate. While less common sovereign coins might offer unique investment opportunities, their niche appeal can limit immediate selling opportunities compared to more ubiquitous bullion coins with a proven track record for liquidity. Determine the Demand for Various Gold Coins in the Market Determining the demand for various gold coins in the market requires a keen observation of global economic trends and investor sentiment. My strategy encompasses monitoring the popularity of specific coins, such as the American Gold Eagle or the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, which consistently hold leading positions due to their trust and recognition across the investment community. Additionally, I explore the burgeoning interest in coins from mints renowned for their quality and artistic value, including the Perth Mint‘s Australian Gold Kangaroo. Understanding these market preferences enables me to select coins that are not only valuable but also have a high likelihood of maintaining or increasing their demand over time, ensuring a robust and liquid portfolio. Compare the Buyback Policies of Different Sellers In my quest to optimize my gold coin investments, I always take the time to dissect and compare the buyback policies offered by different sellers. This critical analysis helps to ensure that if the need arises to liquidate part of my portfolio, I am partnered with dealers who offer competitive, fair, and transparent terms, minimizing potential losses and maximizing returns. Diligent comparison of these policies also allows me to gauge the reliability and customer-centric approach of sellers, which, in my experience, directly correlates with the overall satisfaction and security of my investment. Engaging with sellers who prioritize clear and advantageous buyback options affords me the peace of mind that my investments are not just in gold but also in trustworthy relationships. Exploring the liquidity of gold coins opens up a world of financial strategy; it's a journey through the heart of wealth management. Buckle up as we accelerate into understanding the premiums over spot price for gold coins, where the real game of investment savvy begins.
Assessing the Premiums Over Spot Price for Gold Coins
Tumblr media
As we venture further into the art of selecting the best gold coins for an investment portfolio, a critical factor to weigh is the premiums charged over the spot price of gold. Understanding what constitutes a premium, comparing these added costs across various gold coins and sellers, and calculating the long-term value of these premiums are pivotal steps in refining investment decisions. These premiums are more than just additional charges; they encapsulate factors like coin rarity, minting costs, and the coin’s market demand. Hence, dissecting these premiums affords us a clearer perspective on the actual investment value each gold coin holds. Read the full article

U.S. Marines ban Confederate flag
“…This symbol has shown it has the power to inflame feelings of division. I cannot have that division inside our Corps.
Marines are committed to Country, Corps, and our fellow Marines. While we serve on this team, we must respect the views of other Marines and embody the priorities of the team. Building strong teams requires seeing things through each other’s eyes; walking in each other’s shoes. When we do so, it is not uncommon for us to find that ideas we held in our youth, or language we thought was common, was in fact considered offensive and unacceptable to others.
To do my duty and build this team, I must focus on the constant and timeless values that we share with the Navy—Honor, Courage, and Commitment. We must remove those symbols that have the effect of division and not mere disagreement.
I am asking every Marine to focus on the team and the symbols that bring us together—the eagle, globe and anchor. The stars and stripes. Our battle colors. Our MarPat uniform. Team over self: that is how we must operate to fight and win.”

Image #1: Marine Corps Metal Sign: With the inclusion of many symbolic imagery such as the bald eagle (representing the USA) and the Eagle Globe and Anchor (representing the USMC) along with several famous slogans representing the Marine Corps, this design of this sign proves to be very patriotic not only for the Marine Corps, but also for the United States of America.
Image #2: Spartans Will Poster: A much simpler poster, it includes the Spartan Logo, and the slogan "Spartans Will". The colors utilized clearly resemble the official colors trademarked by MSU. The font used in the slogan is very clear and big to the point where it becomes the main focus of the entire poster.
Image #3: Marines Pillow: This demonstrates how graphic design may even be utilized for things such as pillows, blankets, etc. Things that you typically would not associate with graphic design. The inclusion of the Marine Corps logo and their slogan "The Few and the Proud" demonstrates its purpose to be promoting the Marine Corps as well as being a comfy pillow.
Image #4: Fire Extinguisher Sticker: The design behind this sticker is significant due to the coloring and the patterns in which are implemented. The bright red coloring signifies potential hazard while the pattern is designed to grab the attention of the reader much easier.
Image #5: Detroit Tiger's Hat: Not only does this hat represent the Detroit Tigers with its logo, but the hat also includes a military camouflage design to represent the US military. The inclusion of both of these design elements gives the audience the message that the Detroit Tigers support the US military.
