#EXCEPT to downgrade Leah!!

People love talking about Annabeth and her being blonde and how it’s representation and important when it literally doesn’t matter.
Her being blonde is NOT as big as the fandom claims it is. ESPECIALLY in the first series!! She mentions it’s ONCE in HEROES OF OLYMPUS and NEVER brings its up again! And it’s all within the same book!!
She has many other character attributes and flaws and plot points that are ACTUALLY important!! Feeling abandoned, growing up neglected, having her family broken TWICE. Going to war, being a run away, having to fight monsters for as long as she can remember. Her complications with family and how that’s shaped her to who she is. ALL things that can be touched upon and expanded on in the show with Leah.
But you all want to focus on an arguably minuscule detail that’s mentioned in one page. Alright. Okay.
#and none of you EVER bring up her being blonde in posts or analysis#EXCEPT to downgrade Leah!!#like come on#and if you want them to talk about her feeling unseen and un valued in the tv show#even tho it’s not fucking important#her being black is PERFECT#because we’re historically seen as dumb and excluded from stem#y’all not ready for that convo tho#percy jackon and the olympians#pjo series#pjo hoo toa#heroes of olympus#pjo tv show#pjo#annabeth chase#leahbeth#leah jeffries

That one post you made about you saying “my Annabeth” and then showing pictures of Taylor swift and then going on saying “this is MY annabeth and this how she looks like in my head” seemed like you were trying to spite people off. I know you didn’t like the show but you could be nicer about it just because Annabeth doesnt look ‘book accurate’ in it, that rubs people the wrong way and could make you come off as racist.
I wasn’t trying to be mean or indicate anything racist or ignorant by making that post, I think leah is a lovely annabeth and an incredible actress, but I just made the post as a silly thing and I promise you I mean nothing bad saying that. I think that leahbeth is just as amazing as book annabeth, but like I’ve said before the book appearances have always been my personal favorites and I hold deep connections to them. if anyone’s favorite version of her would be show version then I would respect that completely and utterly, because it was a great representation. and I have never been rude about not liking the show, because, yes, I do dislike it because I like only the books not even the movies and musical— but my intention was never to downgrade the show or leahbeth to anyone whether the like her or not, I was just simply saying in that post that I always picture young taylor as annabeth and I seriously meant nothing behind it except for a fun post.
