Over 1k written tonight! Viola finally has some intel to share with Nora about the dangerous pirate, Josie Barlow.
Nora sipped her tea, enjoying the play of lemongrass and chamomile over her tongue. Then she placed her cup down and folded her hands. “What did you learn?” “Not as much as I’d hoped,” Viola said, “but your rumors were right. She is preoccupied with your duchy and she is dangerous.” “And what rumors didn’t share?” Nora pressed. “Someone bought her ship for her,” Viola said. “She’s flirty and impulsive, but former crew said she’d occasionally change her mind with little warning to do tasks that seemed odd for her nature.” “Someone’s controlling her,” Gabriel said flatly. Nora knew he was thinking of their uncle. Uncle Julian had used Josie Barlow to destroy Coralie, but maybe that hadn’t been her only use. “Your pirate is a puppet,” Viola agreed. She pierced Nora with a glance. “Do you know who is pulling her strings?” Nora shook her head and Viola pursed her lips. “Where is the pirate now?” Nora asked. “Not here,” Viola said. “She left during Erytha.” Nora tapped Gabriel’s chair with her foot. “What do you bet she’s in Anwer?” “No bet,” Gabriel replied. “Thank you, Viola.” “It was fun,” Viola said. She drained her cup and then sat it down on the table. “If you’ll excuse me?” “I’m still trying to decide on my favorite place,” Nora said as Viola stood. “I’m still looking forward to it,” Viola said. Then she left. “So Coralie and Josie have definitely met,” Gabriel said once they were alone. Nora picked up her cup once more. “It certainly seems that way.”

Excerpt From My Fantasy Novel
* Just wanted to share this because I wrote this little passage last night and I’m actually losing it!!!!!!!!! *
“You are nothing but a pawn to him. How do you not see that?”
Erytha turned away, busying herself with the scrolls sprawled atop the long, wooden table.
Norrae tried again. “Please, sister. I beg you to see reason. No good can come from this.”
“And what do you know of anything?” Erytha seethed, turning towards her sister with a golden flame in her eyes. “You… who spends her life so high up in the sky you’d think she’d forgotten where she stands. It is easy to pass judgement on me when you are so simply loved.”
“Are you not loved by me?—” Norrae took a step forward “—Do I not love you as effortlessly as I breathe?”
“It is not the same!” Erytha stepped away, breath shuddering. “It is not the same…”

I haven't done this before, but thought I would join in. I have been working on a couple of writing projects at once.
One is a Miraculous FanFic story called Hello:
Eyes locked on the golden-ones that looked at her with such worry, she listened again to the soft sounds of rustling from the device in her hand, a breath, and then…. words. Words spoken shakily and low before cutting off completely.
“Hello. It’s me. I -” A pause. “I shouldn’t have done this.” A deafening click. Then nothing.
The second project is a novel i am trying to write called Aericall. Actually, I am trying to rewrite it. I got to 50k works for NaNoWriMo then found myself frustrated by the path the story had gone so I am tearing it apart and writing it again.
“Tell me, Nuolie. What is your purpose?” The question caught her off-guard. She didn’t know if she had a true answer - especially one that would appease a high priestess of Mother Osoi.
“To serve the Mother.” It fell easily from her lips, the expected answer of all the Nymph. Ryllae narrowed her eyes in response, a soft hum in the back of her throat before she took another sip of tea.
“How?”
Nuolie met the woman’s eyes.
“I don’t know, Highness. I don’t know what my purpose is. I’m different. And abandoned. What purpose could I possibly have here in Erythae?”
So there you have it. What I am working on.

(@glorf1ndel said she wanted to know more about my guys in the tags of my last art (thank you!) so i took the excuse to clean this up a little and slap some colors on it!!)
They're my wizard Finnelyn Roselorre's favorites in the Rose Court, and they're very typical of the archetypes for that role! They're both from lesser nobility, but Erytha's family has very close ties to the Roselorres and Alkion's has um. The opposite. (bad ties) (would happily resort to armed combat if the emperor allowed infighting between his lords ties)
Erytha's a little spoiled and self-serving and Alkion's priority is playing the social game, but they're the closest things to friends that the three of them have. They're gossip buddies, you know. They like to stand around and judge people.

The first third of the first third of Nora's Return is complete at 42,869 words!
That's so many! I have so much left to write!
Anyway, here is a short conversation from the very end of the section. Gabriel has convinced Nora to trust their older sister to deliver a letter to the editor of a soon-to-be revolutionary news sheet.
Nora has placed a lot of blame on Coralie's shoulders growing up, so this is actually a big step for her. Anyway. The scene:
---
The next morning, while the servants loaded the carriage, Nora sought out her sister. Coralie was tending her garden. They had servants to maintain the grounds, but Coralie had always been particular about her flowers. “Here,” Nora said, thrusting the sealed letter at her sister. “I need you to deliver this for me.” She realized belatedly that she should have said ‘hello’ first Coralie examined the letter. “Who is Erin Danver?” “Please,” Nora said, ignoring the question. She should have asked Gabriel a third time to deliver the letter instead. He always handled their sister better. “And if you could wait for a reply, too?” Coralie studied her for a moment, but then slipped the letter into a pouch attached at her waist. Nora’s shoulders lowered with relief. “I will. Thank you for entrusting it to me. Safe travels.” She picked up her small shears and began snipping away various leaves and stems again. Nora thanked her and started walking away. She’d joked when Gabriel had shared how Aunt Rosalind had changed the flowers for lunch on Erytha, but now Coralie was doing her a favor without pushing for explanations. Nora’s stomach clenched with guilt. She spun around. “I’m sorry about your flowers on Erytha. Aunt Rosalind shouldn’t have changed them without talking to you. What were they supposed to be?” “Pansies. They’re humble flowers, which would have fit well with our fare, and mean remembrance.” “And instead we had…?” “Azaleas,” Coralie supplied. “And what do those mean?” Nora asked, even though she’d never asked about flower meanings before. Coralie’s smile warmed into something more real. “Homesickness.” “But Aunt Rosalind was home,” Nora said. “Or close enough.” Coralie shifted one shoulder in a small shrug. “Perhaps she thought they were pretty. You should hurry back to the stable yard. I’m sure they’re waiting for you.” “And the letter?” Nora asked. “Will be delivered safely,” Coralie promised. Nora flashed her a smile, said ‘good-bye,’ and hurried to the carriage. If Gabriel’s plan worked, that was one more future catastrophe thwarted. Her smile grew, not even the thought of Ivy only a week away from joining the Academy could douse her good mood. When she climbed into the carriage, Gabriel raised his brows at her in question. She nodded once. Everything was good.

Aunt Rosalind is not a good person. She is kind, indulgent, and gentle. She mentored Nora during her first life. She is also quietly orchestrating the downfall of the entire nation as a 'gift' of sorts to earn the favor of the Emperor, her father (she was born to a mistress of his). She is perceptive, intuitive, and absolutely ruthless.
This is from the end of Nora's first scene in this timeline with her. As a reminder, Nora, Gabriel, and Ambrose attended the event where Agatha was injured. The twins made the bomb and Ambrose threw it. It was supposed to be a distraction so they could escape the park without getting caught or seen by anyone. Ambrose feels immensely guilty over this, but hasn't said anything yet and has been distancing himself a bit from the twins.
---
“The local nobility refused to pay for her medical expenses, arguing she’d earned her pain for causing the entire affair. Luckily, a Crellish doctor staying nearby disagreed and is treating her. The poor woman. As if she could have thrown the bomb that blinded her herself.” Ambrose shifted in his seat, pulling away from Nora. Aunt Rosalind took a sip of her tea and continued, “This morning’s update merely confirmed the entire affair hadn’t sparked any other incidents and that we do not yet know whether the woman who started everything is blinded or not.” “Agatha,” Ambrose muttered under his breath. “Hm?” Aunt Rosalind hummed. Her gaze swept across them, from Ambrose to Nora to Gabriel. “Nothing,” Ambrose said. “Thank you for indulging me.” “Of course,” Aunt Rosalind said with a gentle smile. “I imagine you’d want to understand better why you’re not with your family this Erytha.” “I had no idea,” Fiona said. She shuddered. “I can’t believe that happened in our own city.” “Yes,” Ambrose said. “Unthinkable. Do you think the rooms are ready now?” Aunt Rosalind glanced at the light pouring through the mosaic glass windows. “I suppose they must be. I shouldn’t keep you from refreshing yourselves.” “Thank you for breakfast,” Nora said. “Always,” Aunt Rosalind said. “I knew your father would be too busy to think about such matters and I wanted to ensure you were cared for.” “You always do,” Nora said. She met her aunt’s gaze with a crooked smile.
