ㅤ'be quiet for a second, won't ya? you'll miss the shooting star again and i won't be responsible!'ㅤpouting, the winter spirit incessantly pulls on the berkian chief's fur coat and points to the starry heavens not for the first time that night. through bubbling laughter, håkan ( finally ) obeys and scans the skyーand is met with the night alight in celestial rainfall. starlit paths are paved across the once-dark horizon, and the man with constellations mapping his skin can only stare in awestruck wonder as the sky painted alive waves hello. he does not notice the warm adoration of icy blue eyes looking upon him as if he were all the stars found in the sky.

ㅤa breath that lasts fleeting lifetimes pass before them, then the shooting stars begin to wane until the stars fade to subdued burning above them. jack faces his lover in triumph with an expression that seems to say,ㅤtold ya so.ㅤ'so, did ya make a wish?'ㅤthe spark of challenge is enough to bring håkan back from his stupor, a light rouge dusting his cheeks. the viking makes no remark of jack's smugness and instead mulls over his query for a few moments, hand poised beneath his chin as a finger taps idly on his fading scar. a moment passes, as transient as a glance passed between almost-soulmates, and håkan says,ㅤ'you ever wish you could just stay in one moment?'

ㅤ❝sometimes, sure. who doesn't?❞ㅤthe young immortal props his body against the berkian's shoulder once more, sighing in contentment as bare feet swing on the cliff's edge.ㅤ❝i mean i'd like to slack off more often out here, but my chieftain insists to keep me working to the bone when all i want is some time with him!❞ㅤit has been quite some time since they could last camp out in their cove like this, and the island is ever unchanging. the roaring tides far beneath them are a muted ambience accompanied by the gentle drifting sea breeze. the night remains the same each time they visit, now that the spectacle has gone by, and the forest behind them sways in the constant idyllic manner as it always has. jack does not need his reflection to know that he is the one who has changed the least amongst their primordial surroundings. it is a moment near-entirely encapsulated in time.

ㅤand yet wintry lashes flutter in the frigid breeze, head lifting with a hesitant pause and hovering in the halting silence too long. moments upon breaths, like all things that come and leave. jack shifts his body to stare at the visage of his mortal lover, like stargazing: the same evergreen light in his eyes / the wrinkling of youth in his features / boyish still in the subtle, gradual weathering of age.

ㅤpale fingers raise up to tuck freckled face on his palms, scratching lightly at his growing beard and feeling the settling weight of his head resting on cool palm. håkan has been growing his hairs out more often, hasn't he? there had been a timeㅤ( years in what seems like only days back )ㅤas an heir where he had diligently shaved them off from how itchy they would get. he particularly likes to harp on jack about a memory where the spiritㅤ( after warning his foolish lover that he was not made to handle knives )ㅤhad cut his jaw and how håkan simply laughed even as blood streamed across his throat. what else has changed, he wonders? the flow of time is a strange marvel to witness so intimately as it mirrors the face of winter's beloved.

ㅤcalloused fingers touch jack frost, the curve of håkan's palm resting unto his jaw as if his hand was made to house the shape of his body.ㅤas it always has, as it always will.ㅤ'is that the wish of the o' so revered jokul frosti? more time to laze the day away?'ㅤhis smile is crooked and wide, feigning innocence. jack likes to kiss his upper lip just where his endearing little tooth gap is, but finds himself presently mesmerized in the deepening smile lines around his mouth. so many features that he has memorized from nights traced with jack's fingers / lips / memory. if håkan were to bear his heart open now, jack would know its every muscle, vessel, secrets, and fears tucked away down to its ventricles. perhaps it is not so much the threat of passing time, but rather... growth, nurturing and ever-expanding. he has loved every version of hiccup / håkan / dragon rider / chieftain, and he will love the futures he has yet to meet. time intervenes, but love also grows, youthful and daring and ours still.

I’m not going to request anything this time, I just want to know your honest opinion about “LawLight”. 

I have never seen as much yaoi content in an anime as in Death Note in my 30 years… I’m sooo old, and maybe that’s why I’m so sick of Tumblr suggesting me these kinds of posts and it has revived my hatred for this “ship”.

I mean, I’m not even sure if those people have watched the same anime as me…

Cartoons are fictional to start with, so buying into this is like double-dipping in make-believe, I don’t know if I’m making myself clear, lol.  I know some people might say… We read ‘x reader’ stories, okay, but we reaaaally know that this is not real, instead of affirming something that doesn’t exist…?

Anyway, I just wanted to vent, hope I didn’t bother you, and that you understood my limited English.

I love Lawlight because I hate Light Yagami and I think he would hate Lawlight irl and any enemy of my enemy is a friend. That said I personally do not know how feasible it is as a ship. Im not anti Lawlight or anything— the fan content for this ship is great— but I do not know that the characters are all that compatible. I would normally leave it at that, but this is a prime opportunity to shit talk Light so I’m taking it. Here are my top ten implied realities of Lawlight which sink the ship in my opinion.

1. It implies that L would date a man he doesn’t even trust enough to believe isn’t a serial killer, which is ridiculous.

2. It implies that Light as Kira would not be so stubborn as to just refuse to be vulnerable with L out of spite.

3. It implies Light Yagami is capable of love.

4. It implies that neither of them wouldn’t view physical intimacy solely as an in to gain information from the other person.

5. It implies that either party would be content with just leaving well enough alone and not trying to destroy each other.

6. It implies that Light would deny his repressed (if you want to be nice) homophobia (which I cannot prove he has but believe he does with my whole entire heart) long enough to allow himself to get with L.

7. It implies that Light (and possibly L) would be cool with Ryuk watching them do couple things, sexual or otherwise.

8. It implies that Misa Amane would not beat the shit out of L for encroaching on her man.

9. It implies that Light would either top or not view bottoming as losing.

10. It implies that Light has the ability satisfy a partner in any way.

That said, their messy hypothetical relationship is undeniably fun to speculate about. Loads of fun fan works have come from the ship, and Light would despise the ship in real life, so who am I to knock it?

〖REVIEW〗POTN 2.45

Before I get to the first chapter of season 2, here’s a quick recap of season 1. Spoilers up ahead :)

Yoon Seungho is a rich nobleman in the ye olde Korean days whose only concern in life is the care and feeding of his trouser snake. His latest obsession is the erotic artwork done by a mysterious man who has suddenly stopped painting. Like all rich brats, Seungho refuses to accept the fact that the world doesn’t revolve around him & tracks down the painter, a low-born man named Baek Nakyum who now spends his days as a drunk. Seungho forces and coerces Nakyum to come live in his household and paint for him exclusively.

As another measure to ensure that the skittish Nakyum paints for him, Seungho also recruits Nakyum’s teacher and crush Sir Jung Inhun into his household. Sir Inhun is an ambitious scholar who teaches reading and writing to the local children and writes badly plagiarized poetry in his free time (according to Seungho, idk cuz I don’t know about historical Korean poets lol). It was Sir Inhun who harshly reprimanded Nakyum when he found out about the paintings and made him vow to stop.

As Nakyum spends most of his evenings in Seungho’s bedchambers watching the lord’s bed sports with his various hoes and attempting to paint those acts, Nakyum and Seungho start eye fucking. Eventually the two do the horizontal tango, with Nakyum reluctantly getting dragged along for the ride (as most innocent yaoi character types are wont to do). Which raises a couple of eyebrows from the people around them, including Seungho’s main fuck buddy, the pretty wavy haired Lord Jiwha and Sir Inhun who encourages Nakyum to pursue the relationship in hopes Nakyum could reveal any dirt on Seungho.

Season 1 ends with Nakyum finally embracing a sexual relationship with Seungho after Sir Snake in Sheep’s Clothing tells him that mayhaps his lot in life was to be a prostitute. Sir Inhun goes off to take his exams to become a govt offical with the support of Seungho. And Jiwha hires a rough looking dude for Nakyum-you-in-danger-girl reasons.

Summary

Chapter 45 begins with a street peddler relaying the latest gossip about Seungho while playing a shell game with two guys. Apparently the lord has been so been so preoccupied playing find the sausage 24/7 with a new bed partner that he hasn’t been up to his usual debauchery lately. The peddler concludes that the lord has taken a fiancee. A close friend had visited the household recently and actually saw the butt naked lord leaving his chambers during the day with the woman in his arms. She was wrapped in his blanket but it was for sure a woman cuz she had smooth legs lol. 

The peddler’s customers counter that Seungho hasn’t been in bed 24/7 cuz they saw him out and about, being followed around by a servant boy. *insert shot of Nakyum’s pretty face in his cute little winter muffler uwu* Meanwhile Seungho’s servant, watches them from the sidelines like

The men continue to debate about the existence of Seungho’s fiancee, also mentioning that Seungho has completely abandoned Lord Jiwha (bye pretty Felicia!). One of them concludes that the mysterious woman must have reformed the lord with the power of her pussy magic.

Cut to Nakyum slurping on Seungho’s slong (peak comedy). Seungho teases Nakyum about his change of heart regarding sex and his bad bj skillz. When pressed, Nakyum replies that sex is nice and he likes it. Nakyum’s mid-coitus phrasing makes it sound like he’s saying he likes Seungho (”I like- my lord...I like it...”) and Seungho immediately splurts his soldiers into Nakyum’s honey pot.

Seungho’s servant arrives home & instructs another servant to put the painting supplies he just purchased in Nakyum’s room. This random hoity toity servant throws a little conniption over why they have to do things for the painter and Seungho’s servant replies that Nakyum is favored by their master (dude were you in a coma during all of season 1?).

My Thoughts

I wonder how much the world outside Seungho’s household will encroach on our main couple’s relationship this season. It really wasn’t much of a concern last season. Most we got was gossip about Seungho’s wild, lewd ways. And that one droopy-eyed fuck buddy who egged Jihwa on to make a fool of himself. Oh and Seungho’s younger brother who made a brief appearance and tried to get Seungho to come back into the family fold and do what other good lords do. I’m guessing that since season 2 began with rumors outside of the house, we’re gonna see more outside eyes and ears and wagging tongues this season. Ughhh not looking forward to that. Though it’s realistic and expected, I really hate people who can’t mind their own business.

Nakyum my poor baby. I don’t think he’s suddenly fallen in love with Seungho. He’s still hung up on Sir Oily Weasel. This is the second time he’s fallen apart because of that greasy four eyes. When Sir Inhun reprimanded him over the paintings, he turned to alcohol. Now that Sir Inhun has basically told him he’s nothing more than a prostitute, he’s turned to using his body TT___TT Poor baby is quite fragile. I don’t think (and I hope) he’ll fall in love with Seungho for a while.

Seungho on the other hand, I do think he’s starting to fall for Nakyum. There were rumblings of this in season 1. Seungho’s obsession over Nakyum’s paintings slowly transferred to Nakyum himself. It’s funny how Seungho told Nakyum he’d never sleep with peasants and here he is going above and beyond to take care of his little painter. And I don’t think it’s a mistake that the artist immediately shows Seungho’s face/facial reaction whenever Nakyum utters the word “like” during sex, especially his reactions when they had sex for the first time and in this chapter. If he’d let go of his ego a bit more, he’d probably be able to admit that he cares of Nakyum.

However, we should be cautious talking about love when it comes to Seungho. There are hints of something in his past that makes him emotionally constipated plus he’s a dick irregardless of tragic past lol. So I don’t think we’re gonna get lovey-dovey boyfriend to introduce to your parents gooey-ness from Seungho. At most, I think we can expect him to care and provide for Nakyum (I will fight all 6 feet 2 inches of Seungho if Nakyum gets hurt even more on his watch).

This was a great albeit short start to season 2. Looking forward to the next chapter.

PS: This is random but I love when they call Nakyum "little one” or that “funny fella” lol.
