PTAG Trucking News : The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has recently announced that a number of Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) have been deemed unfit for use by motor carriers and must be replaced promptly.

In a statement released on February 29, the FMCSA revealed that the following ELDs have been added to the Revoked Devices list due to their failure to meet essential standards:

- CI ELD LOGS

- CN ELD

- KSK ELD

- TT ELD 30

- TT ELD 1010

Carriers currently utilizing any of the above revoked devices are urged to take the following actions:

1. Cease the use of the revoked ELDs and switch back to paper logs or compatible logging software to document hours of service data.

2. Replace the banned ELDs with compliant options from the Registered Devices list before the deadline of April 28, 2024.

Carriers are granted a 60-day window to swap out a revoked ELD for an approved alternative.
