ELAC Debut Reference 5.1
Tumblr media
With the Debut series, speaker specialist ELAC from Kiel proved a few years ago that good sound can be achieved at a reasonable price. Having modernized the popular series of speakers both visually and technically, ELAC also offers the Debut Reference line.
Team takeoff
A few years ago, Andrew Jones, a world-famous speaker designer, joined ELAC, headquartered in Kiel. One of his first big projects was the realization of the Debut series, a line of surprisingly good-sounding speakers at enticingly affordable prices. Having upgraded the sound with Debut 2.0, ELAC has introduced a further improvement in sound quality as well as design with the Debut Reference series. Andrew Jones continues to be in charge of technical and sonic performance, and the Debut Reference's price range remains pleasingly affordable.

Debut Reference
Undoubtedly, in addition to the best sound for current buyers, an attractive appearance and the ability to bring modern fresh aspects to the living room environment are also important. Elegant shapes and proportions are in demand, and the combination of light woods and white brushed lacquer surfaces meets the prevailing tastes of the moment. The Debut Reference series picks up on these trends with slender speakers with matte white lacquered fronts and light oak cabinets. Debut Reference speakers are also available with black front panels and walnut finish. If you look closely, you will notice that the surfaces are not covered with natural veneer, but with a scratch-resistant film that realistically imitates wood. This approach is due only to the price range and does not affect either the overall visual impression or the sound quality. For ELAC, it turned out to be much more important to equip the Debut Reference models with first-class redesigned drivers and maximize acoustic performance, rather than cladding them with natural wood. For our test, we put together a 5.1-channel cinema set from the models in the series, consisting of DFR52 floor standing speakers, DBR62 bookshelf speakers and DCR52 center channel speakers. Since the Debut Reference series does not include a subwoofer, the SUB 2030, a proven active woofer, has joined our team. This compact device fits perfectly into the series for the price. Of course, you can pick up another, larger, option,

Technology
Small but important changes have been made to the Debut Reference series in terms of sound improvement. For example, the optimized waveguide in front of the inch tweeter in all models of the series ensures the best radiation divergence around the listening room. The built-in metal grille with baffle protects the sensitive tweeter. For the mid/bass driver, ELAC uses membranes made of composite material reinforced with aramid fibers. The DFR52 floorstanding units, about 101 cm high, have two woofers with cones with a diameter of 110 mm and a midrange driver of the same size, while the compact DBR62 bookshelves have a slightly larger driver with a 130 mm membrane for reproducing low and medium frequencies. The DCR52 center channel speakers have two drivers with 110 mm cones that act as mid/bass drivers. All speakers have a bass-reflex design with small slots on the front panels, which are ports of the bass-reflex. This configuration is particularly beneficial when the center and rear speakers are placed close to the wall, allowing low-frequency sound waves to enter the listening room unhindered.
Subwoofer SUB 2030
The SUB 2030 is a powered subwoofer with dimensions of only 30 x 35 x 31 cm, yet packed with many features. With a 350-watt power amp and a 210mm down-firing driver built into a closed cabinet, this small model really delivers surprisingly deep and dynamic bass reproduction. This low-cost component is suitable for everyday use and can even be upgraded to a wireless version if needed, as an optional Bluetooth receiver can be connected to its USB port.

Lab Research and Listening
In our measurement lab, the Debut Reference columns have impressively demonstrated their high quality standards. Frequency response measurements on the DFR52 and DCR52 confirm their neutral and balanced sound character. Even at listening angles of 30° it hardly changes, the center speaker does its job almost perfectly and faithfully reproduces relevant content for listeners in the room. Compared to the previous version, the impulse response of the Debut Reference has also improved. In the cumulative spectrum of DFR52, only minor resonance phenomena can be noted in the mid/low frequency range, and above 1 kHz they are practically absent. The SUB 2030 extends the remarkably extended - up to about 60 Hz - floor-standing speaker bass range already up to 20 Hz, which is very good for such a small subwoofer. When listening to a set of speakers from the ELAC Debut Reference series, it turned out to be on top - beautiful in appearance, it also demonstrates a surprisingly dynamic and lively sound, delivering a lot of pleasure both when listening to music and, of course, when watching movies thanks to its balance and high detail. The Debut Reference is particularly good at the dialogue and cinematic effects. Even away from the optimal listening position, conversational scenes sound crystal clear and fit perfectly into the overall acoustic picture. The DFR52 and SUB 2030 work together to produce crisp, deep bass impulses for rich sound in action scenes. Even for medium-sized listening rooms, when played at high volumes, the dynamic range of the Debut Reference and SUB 2030 is more than convincing.
Tumblr media
Center speaker and subwoofer frequency response: DCR52 balanced sound even at a listening angle of 30° and excellent bass range down to 90 Hz. The compact subwoofer SUB 2030 extends the playback bandwidth of the kit to a frequency of about 20 Hz.
Tumblr media
Front Speaker Frequency Response: Over a wide frequency range, the DFR52 delivers balanced sound and excellent directivity. You can only notice a slight drop around 800 Hz, but this has almost no effect on the sound.
Tumblr media
The cumulative spectrum of the front speakers: in comparison with the previous version, the impulse response of the new Debut Reference has also become better. The DFR52 has only minor resonance phenomena in the low/mid range, and above 1 kHz they are practically absent.
Conclusion
With the release of the Debut Reference line, ELAC has managed to improve the sound quality of the series that preceded it. In addition, the understated and sophisticated design has been incredibly successful, with Debut Reference models looking very elegant and timeless. If maximum sound quality and an attractive appearance at the best price are important to you, then the Debut Reference is the perfect choice!

Best High End Floor Standing Speakers Under $2000
Searching for a floor standing speaker can supercharger sound system instantly.  which not only looks good but drummers focus on sound system making it truly stand Apart from the crowd.  the following article by the master switch we are going to look at the best floor standing speakers Under $2,000:
They're designed to slot in next to bookcases and TV cabinets, packing more speaker drivers into a smaller amount of space. They also take advantage of the space itself (or lack thereof). In our homes, much of our space is taken up horizontally by chairs, couches, and tables, but much less is taken up vertically.
Most of them, especially the pricier ones, will quite happily fill even a large room and create theater-quality sound. Here are some of the best.
First things first: we are more than aware that there are floorstanding speakers that cost five or even six figures. Although we do include a few of those little further down, as a bonus, you’re not going to find them on this list. Why? Because we think that, for most people, they are total overkill.
A list of the best floorstanding speakers has to take into account things like value for money, and we stand by our picks below.
We compare speakers from dozens of different manufacturers, taking into account a wide range of variables from wattage to price and beyond, to construct a loose, numbered list.
If you agree with our selections, or disagree, be sure to let us know in the comments. All prices are for a pair of speakers, although some purchase links list the price for one - just click Buy twice!
  SVS Ultra Towers ($2,000)
Recommended Amp Power: 20-300W/8Ω Sensitivity: 88dB Drivers: 2 x 8” Woofer, 2 x 6.5” Midrange, 1” Tweeter What We Like: Earth-shattering sound. What We Don’t: Awkward shape.
This pair is torn straight from Batman’s sound system. No, seriously, they look like something out of the Batcave. And you just cannot understand how powerful they are, and how much punch and depth they have, until you actually have a pair in your living room. The twin midrange drivers and single tweeter do a very able job, but it’s the bass that really sets these apart. Their twin 8” woofers, set low down on either side of the housing, are absolutely thunderous. SVS probably won't like us saying this, but you could quite happily get away with using these without a subwoofer. The bass is that good.

Focal Chorus 726V review
youtube
    OUR VERDICT
Compact and realistically priced, the Chorus 726V is a good all-round performer. Although it gets a little edgy when driven hard, it makes up for this with superior dynamic expression and tension
FOR Lively Expressive
AGAINST Edgy and aggressive at high volumes
Although both the Focal 800V and 700V ranges have similar basic enclosure shapes and driver types, there are also numerous detail differences. A fair chunk of the £400 price difference between 726V and 826V lies in the elimination of the 826V's costly separate alloy plinth.
Instead, the 726V comes with spikes that fit directly into the base of the enclosure, reducing the overall stability. Furthermore, the spikes themselves have thumbwheel lock-nuts that are difficult to tighten and keep tight.
This £949 726V is the largest of the 700s, one step up from the 716V that we reviewed way back when. Wrapped in 'black ash' vinyl woodprint (with Amati and Wenge options), it has tapering side panels, so that the main internal faces are not parallel.
Sound quality
Best kept well clear of any walls, the combination of twin 165mm bass drivers, plus a 40Hz-tuned port ensures that there's ample bass output here. Indeed, if anything there might well be a bit too much – not really deep bass, rather a mild excess of the warmth and richness that's usually associated with the mid and upper bass.
But this is more of a characteristic than a flaw, as the bass sound quality remains agile and informative. It drives the music along with enthusiasm and a fair amount of dynamic gusto, without adding the sort of delayed reaction effect that results from cabinet colorations, although orchestral textures can show a touch of thickening too.
