SKYPE: From what I studied, it looks like the virus manipulates the body to extreme lengths in order to better spread itself around.

WIKIPEDIA: Yes, I figured the deformation lent itself to spreading of the virus.

WIKIPEDIA: I just couldn't figure out why it was so drastic or what exactly it needs to pass to other hosts...

SKYPE: Right, that's the hard part.

SKYPE: The rapid and intense morphing of the host is some really advanced stuff.

SKYPE: It's rare to see a corruption actually happen in real time and live to tell the tale.

SKYPE: The working theory is that it's like any other virus, passing through infected pages or files.

WIKIPEDIA: Except that messaging is down now. 

SKYPE: Yes... well even if that were true in the beginning, it's possible that it then developed further.

SKYPE: To what point, I don't know.

WIKIPEDIA: Let's see... the first corrupted we met was Discord, who then infected Twitch and Steam.

WIKIPEDIA: We don't know how Discord became corrupted, but we saw him attack the other two which caused them to turn.

AO3: But that doesn't mean attacks from corrupted sites equate to spreading the virus.

WIKIPEDIA: Correct. If that were the case, then Newgrounds would have been corrupted too.

AO3: But then with Newgrounds, we amputated, assuming the virus could have spread slowly.

WIKIPEDIA: True, so it could be like a zombie virus that spreads over time but ultimately we don't actually know if that's the case.

EBAY: Lotta people just get offed. Seen it enough times.

EBAY: They die and don't come back.

SKYPE: So corrupted sites can choose whether to kill or corrupt?

ETSY: But... why would they do that?

ETSY: Aren't they just agents of the virus?

SKYPE: And a virus' goal is always to spread further.

WIKIPEDIA: It's hard to say...

WIKIPEDIA: Of the ones we've heard talk, they seem to be warped versions of themselves.

WIKIPEDIA: But then others just seem like complete monsters.

WIKIPEDIA: ...I think Twitch might have had some kind of rationale left, but her actions were not her own.

SKYPE: What do you mean by that?

WIKIPEDIA: She had an ethernet cable, hooked into something invisible in the air.

WIKIPEDIA: Something glitchy, black and red.

WIKIPEDIA: It was hard to look at directly.

SKYPE: Interesting. Redness is definitely a common theme.

SKYPE: Blood turns red, the sky turns red.
