Running through the House of Hope, and this time just for shits and giggles and I went in the back way to Hope's prison and killed the jailers before doing anything else. Her reaction is as hilarious as it is deserved.

I just finished my second playthrough tonight, and am going through the epilogue! In this playthrough I romanced Gale. Sweet darling wizard man, enjoyed his romance very much. THIS made me laugh though:

Gale.

Funny thing happened with Astarion today while playing my Durge

She’s a sugar sweet Resist Durge, and trying to romance Gale, so I haven’t had Astarion in my party as regularly. SO, I had him swapped in for a minute today, when I remembered I had been meaning to make him read The Necromancy of Thay before I forgot about it again.

He whips out the book and passes all his saving throws (the last one with a crit!). I decided to talk to him right after to see if he had anything to say about the book, and THAT’S when he decided to start flirting with my Durge. What incredible timing, apparently the evil necromancy book puts him in a certain frame of mind…

ALSO ALSO, I hadn’t paid it much mind before, because when HAVEN’T I wanted to flirt with Astarion? But, apparently if you pick “Leave” in the middle of that dialogue he says “What? Was it something I said?” Lol, lmao

Let's see, I COULD work toward finishing my first playthrough, OR, I could horse around and design a character for a second playthrough I in no way have any time to start right now!

Anyway, this is what my OC Miut would probably be like adapted for Faerûn, she'd probably be a drow ranger Durge and I guess she'd romance Gale? Time well spent! (I'll probably make a cursory save of her for later.)

Viconia and The House of Grief is delightfully bugged (?) in my Durge run. With Shadowheart in my party, I went into the Mapping of the Heart room just behind the front waiting room, and Viconia didn’t show up and trigger the normal cutscene there. So, I shrugged my shoulders and just ran through the rest of the area and the encounter in the Chamber of Loss went like usual. Typical intro speech, typical fight, and Viconia got knocked out like usual.

But now? When I speak to knocked-out Viconia, I don’t get the dialogue with her rolling around on the floor, telling me to finish her off and send her to Shar. Instead, she stands up and calls me out for evading the Mapping of the Heart and tries to bargain for the Astral Prism, as if her fellow Sharrans are still alive and Shadowheart ISN’T there with me. It seems like it’s the kind of introductory dialogue I was supposed to get before the battle, given that I didn’t get the scene with her in the heart-mapping room, and with the incorrect assumption that SH isn't in my active party.

First of all, how did they account for anyone getting past the Mapping of the Heart without doing it?? Under what normal circumstances would someone get through the Mapping of the Heart room while avoiding Viconia? Could you theoretically sneak past the whole cutscene while invisible or polymorphed or something?? Do you just not get that scene generally if SH is not with you on your first visit?

Is there a common bug/exploit for missing that initial scene? I'm so curious! Here's some screenshots of the conversation I get in this save when I speak to her after the battle is over and she's knocked out:

(Also, when I get through the dialogue, generally by inciting her to fight me, Viconia just passes out on the floor again. lol)
