“Margot Fenring is a Bene Gesserit sister, but will be a secret agent in the movie. It was very playful to work with Léa. It’s a character full of surprises.”
“The main goal of the Bene Gesserit is to make sure that humanity will move in the right direction. The Bene Gesserit, they don’t think about what’s good or what is evil. That’s not very important for them. What is important is to bring humanity to its full potential and to try to create a being that will bring humanity to enlightenment. It’s their full agenda, which takes place over thousands of years of planning and controlling. They are the true masters of this world. Their biggest weapon is time. They see the world in centuries.”

DUNE PART TWO, commentary (bc i can't handle some of the absurd online talk). Poster by Matthew Ceo;
I judge what the movie shows me, not differences between the books and the movie, i think much of the antagonistic (or toxic male bs rant about Chani) debate could be avoided.
The movie keeps some core themes vague, maybe too vague for audiences, like the entire bs between Duke Leto and the Bene Gesserit in the past (2 films into this universe i'm not satisfied with a oneliner that he became sassy towards them!). While other aspects like the conflict between 'plans and counter plans' vs inner morality and compassion and love are handled with the sledgehammer like the Harkonnen chessboard visuals society. So that even the most non-brainy American understands that the individual moral compasses and rites and doctrines are secondary in the bigger picture bc psychic nuns were able to control all the male dominated macho system and houses and blood lines.
The fact that the Fremen are shown to us as complete opposite of the corrupted, loveless empire and monarchy system might be misleading some in the audience. Either a society is unreal and purely peaceful or there is indeed war and power struggle but none of it is shown. By not showing the dark side of Fremen society (aside of the religious fanatics vs non-believers in the fabricated prophecy), it appears as unreal and ultimately weakens the message. That's why some focus on the debate between purely good Paul rising as heroic liberator OR purely good Paul being corrupted by absolute magic worm water. The elements we see are like fata morgana things, the actually important stuff is behind the facades. Wonders, messiah figures, noble blood, costumes, even the power to control the flow of spice, none of that is the key part of the storytelling in my opinion.
The ultimate takeaway or joke (and i hope Herbert wanted it to be partly a joke) is that the specific parts of OUR society that are analyzed here - any kind of dominant elites - miss to see the tree in the forest. The men IF messiahs or emperors are murderers, the women IF protective of their children or having powers beyond human nature can be as ruthless and coldhearted as men, pseudo-free people IF living in a bubble like Arrakis can be turned into obedient followers, and so on, the list is sure not complete. For this adaption (regardless of any flaw or woke/anti-woke/liberal/traditional interpretations of archetypes and their use) the main q is whether it can teach our global generation the lesson or not. To look not on ONE label alone, think in more than ONE vs ANOTHER BOX, and to think about how complex life is when everybody (followers more than the upper class) is pushed and pulled between multiple gravitational cores. Paul is shown as the struggling and flawed young person who had NO CHOICE in being born into specific systems. And some of his choices later show that outdated black-or-white thinking doesn't solve any complex problem. Running away into the desert could still get all Fremen killed by any future emperor and whatever houses wage war for Arrakis control. Going on a revenge rampage might look justified on first glance but will logically cost millions of lives. Perfect solutions and clean souls without dark corners are for kiddy fairytales, but this story is about realities of life. And life is ugly.
