Photoshoot of the Week: July 1st-7th 2019 - Diana Boreyko & Ducati Multistrada
Amazing Russian pole dancer & model 💙 Diana Boreyko enjoying her journey to Italy in April and May 2019 experiencing one of the most beautiful sight: Venice?! No, Ducati Multistrada!! Here there are all the pics of Diana's photoshoot in Parco San Giuliano in Mestre (not too much far from Venice anyway 😂) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqhwKlLIzTc By the way, she also tried Ducati with a blue Sunday dress (?!) ... she's definetely a crazy girl https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zX6DzZV33bM See Diana's complete Instagram story about her journey in Italy here First introduced in 2003, the Ducati Multistrada (literally in Italian "many roads") is series of V-twin "street trailie" motorcycles. Essentially a hybrid of a supermoto and a sport-tourer, the Multistrada competes in the market with other dual-sport motorcycles such as the BMW GS; but, like the Yamaha TDM850, the Multistrada is neither intended nor suitable for off-road use. Designed by Pierre Terblanche as an evolution to his previous design, the Cagiva Gran Canyon, the Multistrada has drawn mixed reviews for its unconventional aesthetics. A new addition to the popular Ducati Multistrada for 2019 is the tweaked Multistrada 950. And joining it comes a key addition in the form of the Multistrada 950 S, which also comes with wheel options. ‘S’ should be for ‘serious’ because the newbie is laden with top-spec kit, in fact there are more than 400 setting available via it’s sparkly new 5” TFT display – rider modes, traction control settings, damping, etc. At first glance you’d be correct in missing the upgrades. Aesthetically, not much has changed for 2019, other than some tweaks to the bodywork to bring it into line with the bigger Multistrada 1260 but there hasn’t been an ‘S’ model of the smaller Multistrada before, and the new machine adds much of the equipment from the slightly looney Multistrada 1260. The deep, throbby burble of a Ducati twin is a joy to listen to especially when smashing through the revs and clipping up the gearbox, so much so that the tried and trusted 937cc Testastretta motor has only had some small refinements that make the world of difference. More of that later. Maximum power and torque figures remain the same as the 2017 model at 110bhp (83kW) @ 9000rpm and 71 lb-ft (96 Nm) @ 7750rpm, which makes it more powerful than rivals such as Triumph’s Tiger 800 and Suzuki’s Vstrom 1000, although less tourquey than the Japanese bike. It can’t match the new Kawasaki Versys 1000 for power and is only just shaded by Yamaha’s Tracer 900 GT. For those not opting for a heavier yet more powerful Multistrada 1260, this is the ideal sports-tourer that has some light off-roading capability. It outshines rivals in terms of build quality and finish plus the vast swathes of riding options but then again, you get what you pay for.

Custom Bikes Of The Week: 22 December, 2019
A jewel-like Hartford from Cowboy’s Chopper, a body kit for Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 owners, a killer vintage drag bike and a Ducati Paul Smart still in its crate. Now that would make a nice Christmas present, wouldn’t it?
Hartford HD200 by Cowboy’s Chopper Taiwan has become a hot spot of custom motorcycle activity in the East, with shops like Rough Crafts and 2LOUD leading the charge. Now Alex Gao of Cowboy’s Chopper is becoming one to watch; this HD200 is top notch.
Made by the Taiwanese manufacturer Hartford, the HD200 is a rather pedestrian commuter that is now being exported to Europe too. But despite its budget bike status, Alex’s client was keen to see how far the envelope could be stretched.
So Alex went all-out. This little Hartford now features a hand-made tank and tail section, and a detabbed and chromed frame. Those beautiful finned side panels hide the wiring, and Alex has placed one of his signature vertically mounted rectangular headlights up front.
He also installed a 225 cc ‘big’ bore kit and a Keihin PZ30 carb to boost performance. And that swooping exhaust was made using a sand bending technique. As for the tires, while they look like Firestone Champion Deluxes, they’re actually knock-offs from a company called ‘F*ckstone’ … [More]
BSA/JAP drag bike by Kevin Busch When Kevin Busch was a kid, he used to sit on the remnants of an old BSA-framed drag bike in the corner of his grandfather’s shop. His grandfather was Jack Williams and the shop was Syndicate Scuderia, in Langley, British Columbia. And although Jack was a renowned car builder, it was the drag bike that piqued Kevin’s interest.
When the bike actually ran, it had a 500 cc JAP Type 6 single cylinder motor in it, and no brakes. (Where Jack used to race, there was more than enough run-off to slow him down). But Kevin didn’t know this until he was a teenager, and his grandfather showed him photos of the complete bike.
Jack passed away in 2014, but as much as he wanted to, Kevin just couldn’t gather the cash to buy the leftovers of his grandfather’s BSA-framer. He told the guy that bought it to give him a call if he ever decided to sell it—which he did, one year later. The sale included the bare frame, a pair of wheels, and the forks that Jack had originally drilled into (presumably to shave weight).
So the fact that this vintage dragster looks as good as it does now, is a testament to Kevin’s skill and dedication. Unable to find a Type 6 motor, he settled for a JAP Type 4B mill from a speedway bike. Then he made the primary cover, chain guard, linkage and seat from aluminum, and added a BSA drum brake at the back.
Kevin also gave the bike, dubbed ‘Zeus,’ period-correct Avon and Dunlop tires, and a brass Amal carb. But he hasn’t run the bike yet, because it actually needs an Amal methanol carb to run properly. With the wrong timing or incorrect fuel mixture, he could bend the valves or wreck the piston. There’s no telling when he’ll get that sorted either—he’s already got his hands full with a 1961 Triumph T120C Bonneville project.
There’s a lot more to the story; our friends over at Iron & Air have the full scoop and more images.
Honda XL600V Transalp by Rusty Pipes Garage First introduced in 1987, the Honda Transalp quickly made a name for itself as a robust, do-it-all workhorse. The first Transalp was a 583 cc V-twin that borrowed styling from the Paris-Dakar race bikes of the 80s, and some people love those older ‘600s’ even more than the later ‘650’ and ‘700’ models.
This is a 1994-model XL600V, and it’s been given the scrambler treatment by Leonidas Panagiotopoulos at Rusty Pipes Garage in Greece. It was built for a customer that already had the bike, but had grown bored of the stock looks.
Leonidas started by switching the original 21” front wheel out for a custom-laced 18” unit. He made adaptors to run the stock brakes, and shortened the front forks a touch too. Out back, the stock subframe was cut-n-shut, and topped off with a new seat.
Leonidas is particularly proud of the fuel tank, because it’s the first one he’s built from scratch. Other custom touches include the old-school external fuel gauge, the side covers, and a set of burly radiator guards. There’s also a custom intake and exhaust, and a rear fender that’s mounted to the swing arm. It’s a far cry from the original Transalp, but it’s no less charming. [More]
Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 kit by Autologue Design The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is a pretty neat cafe racer out the crate. And we’ve seen multiple examples of what customizers can do with them already. But how about a kit to amplify the GT’s classic racer appeal?
Autologue Design of Pune in India have just the thing. Their kit, dubbed RECK (Royal Enfield Cafe Kit) is a simple, yet elegant, upgrade. Taking cues from Triumph’s wildly popular Thruxton, the kit includes a fairing and tail section, and all the requisite hardware to fit them—making it truly plug and play.
The parts were developed using contemporary digital techniques. First, Autologue did a 3D scan of the bike, then designed the parts using 3D software, and then 3D printed the prototype parts, before creating the final molds.
The bike you’re looking at here is their test bed and demo bike. In addition to the kit, it wears a few other new bits; a Motogadget speedo and mirrors, an LED headlight, and the taillight from a Royal Enfield Himalayan. The finned covers aren’t part of the kit, but they can be bought separately. Oh, and the flip-flop paint job is an especially nice touch too. [More]
An in-the-crate Ducati Paul Smart 1000 LE Released in 2006, the Pierre Terblanche-designed Paul Smart 1000 LE was built to commemorate Paul Smart’s 1972 victory at the Imola 200. It’s arguably one of the most stunning stock motorcycles ever made, backed up by a decent parts spec and adequate enough performance.
The Paul Smart was based on the Ducati SportClassic, with a 992 cc L-Twin at its core, fuel injection and a six-speed transmission. You also got Öhlins suspension and Brembo brakes…but it was the Paul Smart’s looks that pushed it into uber-desirable territory. Between the turquoise frame, deep silver paint and period-correct logos, it’s still one of the best examples of a modern classic ever made.
Ducati only built 2,000 Paul Smarts, and they’re so sought after now, that some have even appreciated in value. We doubt there’s a single example out there that’s worth what this one is though. You’re looking at an zero miles 2006-model Paul Smart 1000 LE, that’s still in its factory crate.
It’s never been started, and it’s never even been in daylight—so there’s not even a hint of sun damage on the paint job. The only thing that’s not 100% stock, is that it has three signatures on it: Paul Smart, Pierre Terblanche, and what looks like it could be Miguel Galluzzi’s. If you can scrape together between $25,000 and $33,000 at Bonhams, it could be yours. [Via]

Still In Its Factory Crate: An Original Ducati Paul Smart 1000 LE
When the Ducati Paul Smart 1000 LE was released in 2006 it caused a sensation throughout the motorcycle world. It was unquestionably one of the most beautiful motorcycles of its age, and it still today stands as a high water mark when it comes to modern classic motorcycles.
Ducati built the Paul Smart 1000 LE to commemorate Paul Smart’s legendary win at the Imola 200 race in 1972. The importance of this race win is hard to overstate, it announced the arrival of Ducati as a large capacity race bike builder, and it brought much attention to the Italian company’s L-twin engine designs.
The 2006 Ducati Paul Smart 1000 LE
The Paul Smart 1000 LE was designed by one of the most important motorcycle designers of the modern age, Pierre Terblanche, the man who designed the other motorcycles in the Ducati SportClassic series, as well as the Ducati MH900e, the Ducati Hypermotard, and a slew of other motorcycles including the recent Royal Enfield Himalayan.
At its heart the Ducati SportClassic series, which includes the Paul Smart 1000 LE, are powered by the venerable Ducati DS1000 engine. It’s a 992cc L-twin (a 90º V-twin) with a single overhead cam per cylinder, two valves per cylinder, air and oil cooling, fuel injection, and a 6-speed gearbox. In the Paul Smart bike the DS1000 is tuned to provide 92 hp at 8,000 rpm and 67.3 ft lbs of torque at 6,000 rpm, with a wide torque band that starts relatively low in the rev range.
A tubular steel trellis frame was developed for the model that uses the engine as a stressed member to cut weight and increase rigidity. Front suspension is provided by Öhlins 43 mm upside-down fully adjustable forks and in the rear there’s an adjustable Öhlins monoshock. Braking is handled with two large twin-piston, floating caliper Brembo discs up front with a matching disc on the back.
Upon its release, the Ducati Paul Smart 1000 LE received rave reviews from all quarters. It was a motorcycle clearly designed for fun, though it performance chops left little to be desired. It wasn’t a motorcycle intended to take on the fastest superbikes in the world of course, it was developed to be a hugely fun bike to ride with a low intimidation factor and gobs of curb appeal.
The bike produces a few horsepower more than the original Paul Smart race bike from 1972, and although it does have a slight weight disadvantage it benefits from a modern chassis, modern brakes, modern suspension, and a 6-speed gearbox. There can be little doubt that the modern version would best the original on the track, although to my knowledge no one has ever put this to the test.
As far as we can tell, the Paul Smart 1000 LE didn’t depreciate at all, just 2,000 were made and they’re so highly sought after they seemed to maintain their sticker price or even appreciate a little. They now typically change hands for significantly more than the original MSRP, and examples in good condition don’t tend to wait long for a sale.
The Still-In-Crate Ducati Paul Smart 1000 LE Shown Here
The Paul Smart 1000 LE you see here is one of the lowest mileage examples in the world, with 0 miles recorded due to the fact that it’s never been removed from its factory crate – and it’s never been started.
All examples of this bike featured the eye-catching aqua-green frame and silver-metalflake paint that was reminiscent of the original 1972 bike, and the paint on this one has lost none of its sparkle due to sun damage. There are three signatures on the rear cowl including those of Terblanche and Paul Smart himself.
It’s hard to know how much a brand new PS 1000 LE might sell for but Bonhams are estimating it at between $25,000 – $33,000 USD. If you’d like to read more about it or register to bid you can click here to visit the listing.

2009 Ducati SportClassic Sport 1000 828 original miles : $15495 This is the kind of bike that you enjoy staring at for hours, but which excludes all the technical disadvantages of riding an original classic piece of two-wheeled machinery simply because it is brand new. While the style is immediately recognized as being consecrated decades ago, the 992 cc, air-cooled, two valves per cylinder Desmodromic engine is all about performance. Fed through the 45 mm throttle body of the Marelli electronic fuel injection system, the unit develops 92 hp at 8,000 rpm and 67.3 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm. Also, this is coupled to a six-speed gearbox with fairly tall ratios, managing to meet Euro3 emissions regulations https://www.instagram.com/p/BmjKB7Jg902/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=6pxrhresdzpo
