<strong>Dubarry's Creme Shalimar advert - 1936 <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/36844288@N00/">by mikeyashworth</a></strong> <br /><i>Via Flickr:</i> <br />Although noted as being a London company, Dubarry had a major works at Hove - they were, inter-war, one of the biggest popular cosmetics company and this advert is very typical of the lush and languid style they adopted. The company didn't fold until the early 1980s and the works in Hove are now converted to residential use - still adorned with the mosaic advertising slogans - including "Creme Shalimar for soft, white hands".
