Darkira (Aleksander Morozova x Amira Silina) pt. 9 Puppy Shadow
A soft knock on the door echoed through Catalina's house, signaling General Kirigan's return. Amira opened the door to find him standing there, a faint smile playing on his lips.
"Amira," Kirigan began, "I was wondering if you would join me for a stroll in the city. I would like to know my soulmate better."
Amira, with a hint of defiance in her gaze, agreed to the invitation. As they ventured into the heart of the city, where the lively atmosphere enveloped them, Amira couldn't help but notice the watchful eyes that followed General Kirigan's every move.
Kirigan led Amira through narrow alleys and bustling marketplaces, his keen eyes observing everything around them. They stopped at a quaint cafe tucked away from the bustling crowds, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee enticing them.
As they sat in the outdoor seating area, Kirigan initiated a conversation that delved beyond their Grisha abilities. He asked about Amira's childhood, her dreams, and the experiences that shaped her into the person she was today. Amira, though willing to share, maintained a subtle defiance in her responses.
"I've had my share of challenges, General," she remarked, her eyes narrowing slightly. "But I don't let them define me."
Kirigan, undeterred, continued to unravel the layers of Amira's past. The defiance in her tone only seemed to deepen his intrigue. The night unfolded with shared stories, laughter, and a connection that was both reluctant and undeniable.
As they strolled through the city, Amira's defiance softened into a guarded curiosity. She found herself captivated by Kirigan's tales of ancient Grisha history and the struggles he faced. Yet, she remained determined not to let him completely unravel her secrets.
On the rooftop of a building, with the city lights sparkling below them, Kirigan gazed at Amira. "Amira, there is more to us than just our Grisha powers. I am glad to have this opportunity to know you on a deeper level."
Amira, her defiance giving way to a glimmer of vulnerability, met his gaze. "General Kirigan, don't mistake my openness for complete surrender. There are parts of me you will never know."
The night in the city had not only unveiled secrets but also showcased the defiance that fueled Amira's spirit, a spirit unwilling to be entirely consumed by the enigmatic General Kirigan.
He chuckled a little and kept walking with her "You will find I have patients to discover what those things are..we have all the time in the world.." He said
Amira didn't want to give him any clues but she knew he was also right..he had eternity..they had eternity to know one another.
As they walked though, Amira stopped when she heard the sound of puppies and she went over to where they were. She saw a group of puppies that was blonde, brown, white and one black one. General Kirigan was not usually around animals except horses.
"Do you want one?" He asked her as she looked at him.
"I wanted a pet when I was younger..Sierra and I would always talk about what we'd get." Amira said as she was still wearing his necklace.
The man in charge of the puppies was going to shoo Amira away when he saw the General and changed his mind as he looked at her. "Which one do you like young miss?" He asked her
Amira looked at the group of puppies as she thought about it before she picked up the black puppy and felt the puppy lick her cheek as she laughed. Aleksander was a bit surprised but he gave the man payment for the pup. He had a feeling he'd be rewarded in the future for doing this for her.
As they walked she held the puppy who relaxed in her arms, he questioned what her moves were going to be now that she was a pet owner and he'd paid for this puppy.
When they returned to Catalina's house, she leaned forward and kissed his cheek in appreciation surprising him. "Thank you for the puppy..Good night General." Amira said
They went separate ways that night and for a few days he had to figure out what he was going to do.
Amira had gone to the market to get puppy supplies for her new puppy she named Shadow with her grandmother Catalina. She'd gotten her food, supplies and a leash along with a collar. She loved that she had the opportunity and when a month passed and Aleksander came back to see her.
Amira was outside with her dog that had grown a bit and she was laughing as the dog was a great companion. Nico was watching her making sure no one was going to harm her and when he arrived Shadow barked.
"Seems you've been training her well." Aleksander said as Amira looked seeing the General.
"Yes, I have and Nico has helped." She said as she knew she had merely three months left here in her Grandmother's care before becoming his permanent guest. He nod as he walked over and kissed her hand.

Darkira (Aleksander Morozova x Amira Silina) pt. 2 1st army camp
Amira's pov
Growing up was easy, ten years went by like it was nothing and I trained to become a powerful Grisha..and I had my own best friend Nicolas Stark. My twin sister was crushing on Nico but then I was his best friend. So when we left and went to first army camp, it was seeming to go fine. I got into Cartography and he was a Corporal tracker..we just happened to get the same unit which was fine.
As we arrived, I got out of the vehicle and walked with Nico as we were walking in camp..it wasn't going to be easy but we would make it work. As we walked, I felt a nudge and then looked seeing Alina..I'd know my cousin anywhere but her friend didn't remember me. Alina and I exchanged looks as we both knew what we were..but the look on Alina's face was like..she'd forgotten..
Alina, have you forgotten? I thought
I wouldn't be surprised if Alina tried to deny being a Sun Summoner, where I embraced it. She did run off to who knows where..as Nico and I did some learning we were in the 37th regiment and Alina and Mal were in the 36th Regiment which was fine. For months I got to stay by Nico's side which was great for me as I honed my skills in the mean time.
When we were in line to get meals, Nico and I would joke around as we got the meal and then went and sat down. Some thought I was Nico's girlfriend but he put them in their place saying we were just good friends..and it was true. I was old enough to get my grisha soulmate mark anyday, soulmate mark can vary anywhere between the initials of the grisha they're meant to be with or their power symbols. I hadn't received mine yet but I hadn't met mine yet it seemed or maybe I had but was not old enough to know then.
Then I saw Alina having trouble with the cook, it annoyed me how they treated her differently for being half shu. I went to get up but Nico pulled me back down. "Mal will handle it..besides we all know not every ravkan accepts shu, half or not." Nico whispered as I nod in agreement. Yet, I went to my tent later and got some snacks I did have and found Alina sitting alone as I dropped it in her lap and sat by her.
"You seemed to have done well for yourself..but you haven't been practicing.." I said as Alina looked and tried to hand it back. "I don't want your charity cousin." Alina said but I insisited. "You have to eat Alina, this whole thing is stupid.." I said as we had to watch Grisha training.. "You should be there..training with the Grisha." Alina said quietly as I laughed a bit. "Oh yes, training under the man who my father dispises the most in this world..I did meet him ten years ago..the General." I said as she looked shocked and I looked at her. "He showed up after you disappeared..he's not bad looking at all Alina. Yet, he never came back to try to test me or Sierra." I said
Alina just seemed speechless but she knew she'd been tested and she got out of it..She ate some of the snacks. "They're talking about going into the fold again..another skiff crossing. " Alina said as I nod knowing about that and took a sip of a drink I had. "They're choosing tomorrow the ones who are going on the skiff..let's hope it's not one of us." I said before getting up and leaving her to eat as Mal came to Alina.
I didn't feel like celebrating or anything so I went to bed and that morning was when I heard the sound of a carriage approaching and then felt the tingling feeling on my neck. "hm" I said as I got up and got ready like usual going to breakfast hall and sitting with Nico..It was Nico who noticed as he waited till after we ate. "Amira, your neck.." He said as I looked at him and then moved my hair over it..
My Grisha soulmate is nearby.. I thought
Aleksander's POV
The carriage ride from the little palace to the first army camp was quite long, I knew there was a lot to do and little time to do it as I knew checking on the Grisha was top priority..as the carriage entered first army grounds by the fold. I felt that feeling on my wrist and this time I looked seeing two symbols..one didn't intrigue me but the other did..Sun. I knew this happened ten years ago when I visited the Silina family so I knew then, it was someone related to Catalina that was my Grisha soulmate. A Sun Summoner, and from the looks of it also Tidemaker..my mind went to Amara's daughters, after all being the Generous General I was back then I did let Amara leave to be with her own Grisha soulmate so perhaps this was the saints rewarding me.
Could it be that a Grisha would sneak into first army? Pretend to be something they're not? I thought
As I got out of the carriage when it stopped, I headed to my tent first as I'd decided to bring Aiden Nikitin with me. I was going to let the squaller visit his family but seemed his half sister may be closer than I thought. I got things ready and go over preparations for tomorrow before I'd decide to investigate the grisha in hiding. After that was settled I went to the first army General.
"General Kirigan, is there something you need?" He asked
"Do you have any soldiers with the last name Silina here?" I asked
"One, Amira Silina. She's a Cartographer in the 37th Regiment, she's around here somewhere." He said
Amira Silina..and that is the name Aiden said is his half sister..so that means she's here among humans. I thought
"It has come to light that Ms. Silina, may be Grisha. Her family is well acquainted with 2nd army's grisha trainer. Have someone find her and bring her to my tent tonight." I said as he nod and then I walked away.
Amira's pov
I looked at Nico still panicking a little when I saw his color...black. I knew then that I was on limited time to figure out my situation. I could only hide for so long before he knew, if he didn't know already. Nico followed my gaze seeing the General.
"General Kirigan.." Nico said
"My time is up soon..so after the picking with the skiff, let's throw a small party with your friends and my cousin and the other cartographers. Make it the best before he finds me.." I said
Nico didn't seem to like this but then he moved my hair "AM" He said wondering what that meant but I wouldn't say..not here. I moved my hair back and knew it was only a matter of time.
I get tonight only...if he doesn't drag me to his tent tonight.. I thought

Darkira (Aleksander Morozova x Amira Silina) pt. 5 Time with the General pt. 3
I wanted to go after her but my hands were kind of tied with the fact that he was my soulmate and keeping me from going. He walked over to me and pulled up the hood on the cloak as he looked at me. "Come on, we're going." He said as he took me out and I was half expecting just us when Nico was there with our things..and by our things I mean mine and his.
Kirigan got me on the horse infront of him and he looked over at Nico. "You're going to be her protector, to keep her safe and try to keep her out of danger." Kirigan said to Nico who just nod. I looked at him and he looked at me but we both knew our lives were never going to be the same..when Kirigan got on behind me I prepared myself as we were heading out.
"I need to see Alina makes it safely." I said as he looked down at me but she was my cousin and I just needed to see. It was going to be heading the same way anyway so it would all work out as he galloped the horse in the way the carriage went. I knew that I was in for a long journey so I had to be wise about my choices..
Of course when we arrived there was a fight, I felt his shadows but as he kept going I heard her scream..the horse was still moving but I jumped off and I didn't think twice as sun orbs came to me and I motioned them as blades towards the druskelle attacking his grisha as I felt him jump down beside me and he cut a druskelle in half that was about to kill Alina.
"Impressive..you're stronger than I thought." He said to me as I didn't answer him, I wouldn't speak but saw his grisha looking at us since I had the cloak on they didn't know it was me who threw the sun. I walked towards Alina as I helped her up "And this is why we train and don't run off." I said as she looked at me and she smiled "I knew you'd come.." Alina said as I looked at her and put a hand in the pocket of the cloak as I handed her a handkerchief. "Wipe your face, he got druskelle blood on your face..it's gross." I said as she took it and wiped her face.
I heard Ivan in the distance talking to Kirigan "Another Sun Summoner, why didn't you say something General?" Ivan asked as he looked our direction. I kept my face covered but where I was able to see everyone. "She's not to be known." He said as Ivan looked shocked as I smiled a bit and then saw Nico walk over "Well done." He said as I nod. Ivan started complaining a skilled Sun Summoner was useful. "Perhaps, but she's going to train under her grandmother..One who you will respect  and refer as Lady Catalina if you meet her." Kirigan said
I looked at Alina who seemed to be shaking and I led her to the horses "Come on, you'll ride with us." I said as she looked unsure but then I was the one in all black. "So..you exposed yourself.." Alina said as I looked at the horses "Half of what I can do.." I said as I stood with her and then Kirigan walked over to us. "Alina, you'll ride with the tracker, Amira, you'll be with me." He said as he helped me back on.
The four of us traveled until it was dark and then we made camp as I pulled down the hood and sighed. I noticed he'd gotten camping gear earlier as I saw even Nico had some camping gear. "You girls can stay in the sa-" but Nico was cut off by the General as he grabbed my wrist "She'll stay in my tent for safety." He said as he led me away.
Saints, to know we're soulmates he acts like he owns me. I thought
Nico walked over and grabbed my other wrist and pulled me which got me stuck in the middle and get Kirigan annoyed. "She's my best friend and you want me to protect her. That includes protecting her from you.." Nico said as he tried to get me free but then it seemed like a back and forth of who was going to win a tug of war with me in the middle. "Both of you let go or I will kick both of your asses." I said which got Nico to let go but then the General refused and I spun myself to make him let go.
I walked to the tent where Alina was and we both went inside of it and laid down as we slept. I wanted nothing to do with the either of them right now as Alina and I slept. So when the morning came I heard the sound of packing up and Alina woke me as we went out. I pulled the hood over my head again as we kept moving.
This would have made more sense for me to have rode with Nico..he's very insistent on me being with him. I thought
When we came to Poliznaya, the city before Os Alta and I looked seeing grandma's place come into view as we all got down and walked to the door. Kirigan walked over knocking on her door as Grandma answered as she looked at us and I pulled down the hood. "Come in." She said as she gestured us in.
We all walked in and I got rid of all my protection throwing it on the couch as I was in my first army uniform. "Amira is going to be staying with you for the next four months." Kirigan said as I looked around before my grandma spoke. "So you found out about her.." Grandma Catalina said as he presented his wrist with my markings and when I looked back her eyes met my own. "Your soulmate.." Grandma Catalina said as I nod. "Father is going to be livid." I said with no sarcasm in my voice because it was the truth..my father would not like this one bit.
He stayed for merely a few moments before walking over to me and taking my hand as he kissed the top of it. "Our courtship has begun now that you're here just outside the walls." He said as he smirked and then left as I was shocked..courtship? I didn't remember agreeing to one but then I thought about our marks...it was a sign even if I hadn't agreed.
A courtship.. I thought

Darkira (Aleksander Morozova x Amira Silina) Pt. 8 Horse ride
The moon hung low in the night sky, casting a silvery glow over the elegant estate of Catalina De La Rosa. The air was crisp, carrying the scent of blooming flowers as General Kirigan approached the grand entrance. He knocked on the sturdy wooden door, the sound echoing through the quiet night.
Catalina herself opened the door, a mixture of surprise and curiosity on her face as she beheld the familiar face of General Kirigan. "General," she greeted with a nod, "what brings you to my humble abode?"
"I hope I'm not intruding, Catalina," the general replied with a polite bow. "I've come with a request that involves Amira. I trust she is still under your care?"
Catalina's expression softened, understanding dawning in her eyes. "Indeed, General. Amira is settling in quite well, thanks to your generous arrangement."
Kirigan nodded. "I'm pleased to hear that. I thought a change of scenery might do her good. However, I've also come with a different proposal. May I speak with her?"
Catalina gestured for him to continue, and they moved to a more private area of the house where Amira joined them.
"General Kirigan," Amira greeted, a mix of respect and curiosity in her tone.
"Amira," Kirigan acknowledged with a nod. "I trust you're finding your stay comfortable?"
Amira nodded, grateful for the opportunity he had provided her. "Yes, General. Your kindness has been more than I could have hoped for."
"I have a proposition for you," Kirigan continued. "I thought you might enjoy a change of pace. How about a midnight horse ride under this enchanting night sky? I believe the stables hold magnificent creatures that deserve to stretch their legs."
Amira's eyes widened at the unexpected invitation. She exchanged a quick glance with Catalina, who nodded encouragingly. "I would be honored, General Kirigan."
With that, the trio made their way to the stables, where the horses awaited. As they rode beneath the starlit sky, Amira couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the twists and turns that had led her to this moment, riding alongside her Grisha soulmate.
Little did she know that this midnight ride would mark the beginning of a journey filled with unforeseen adventures and a connection that transcended the ordinary.
Amira enjoyed the gentle rhythm of the horse's movements beneath her, the night air carrying the scent of blooming flowers as they rode through the forest. General Kirigan rode alongside her, his presence both comforting and intriguing.
As they ventured further into the moonlit night, Kirigan broke the silence. "Amira, I hope your stay at Catalina's house has provided the tranquility you needed."
Amira nodded, her gaze fixed on the path ahead. "It has been a welcomed respite, General. I can't express my gratitude enough for your generosity."
"I'm glad to hear that," Kirigan replied, his voice carrying a hint of warmth. "You possess a unique power, Amira, one that could play a crucial role in the future. I believe these months of solitude will allow you to harness it fully."
Amira couldn't help but feel a mix of curiosity and anticipation. "What do you foresee for my future, General?"
Kirigan's eyes gleamed in the moonlight. "There are forces at play, Amira, forces that demand the strength of Grisha like yourself. I sense great potential within you, and I believe that together, we can shape a destiny that goes beyond the ordinary."
The gravity of his words hung in the air as they continued their journey through the night. Amira pondered the path that lay ahead, the mysteries of her power, and the connection she felt with General Kirigan.
Back at Catalina's house, Catalina watched from the window as the pair rode into the distance. She sensed the weight of destiny weaving its threads around Amira, and she couldn't shake the feeling that their lives were intricately connected.
As the first light of dawn began to break on the horizon, Amira and Kirigan returned to the estate.
Amira paused, then spoke softly, "Our destinies may be intertwined, but I am just your permanent guest when I go to the Little Palace in less than four months."
Kirigan met her gaze, a subtle smile playing on his lips. "Guest or not, Amira, the threads of fate connect us. In the Little Palace, we shall continue this journey together, navigating the challenges that await. Your destiny is not merely a guest; it is a vital part of the path we shall tread."
The night had been a journey of revelations, forging a bond that transcended mere mentorship. Little did Amira know that her destiny was now intertwined with the enigmatic General Kirigan.

Darkira (Aleksander Morozova x Amira Silina) pt. 6 Music and a walk with the General
Being under grandma's house was weird but it was pretty easy to get around then Nico was to watch me so it all worked out. Grandma went and got me clothes that were not the kefta or my first army uniform as we were going to keep me secret. So once changed it was fine, and I went about things like usual.
So after a few days we all went to the local area where they were doing some karaoke and I didn't know Aleksander was coming to visit me that day as I sat by my grandmother as we watched people performing with songs and enjoying while drinking. Then I got gutsy and walked up as someone let me choose an instrument at the time and I did. Just as he walked in with some of his grisha, I started to play and sing.
youtube
I was smiling and having fun with it when I saw him and saw he was distracted by my singing. I was just having some fun but it worked out here. When I was done I walked back over to where my grandmother was and took my seat as I looked over seeing him looking at me.
I didn't know he was coming or I'd have came to do this but then we were courting. Everyone ended up standing except him and we all started dancing which I was dancing with Nico since he was in charge but when he spun me, I ended up coming face to face with Aleksander as he took my hand and spun me. We didn't even talk as we blended in with the crowd.
"So, why are you here?" I finally asked as he spun me around and I felt him holding my hands still while I was infront of him. "I came to visit you. Yet, I found out that you're here..and you can sing." He said
I was quite surprised but then I knew he had four months to woo me and I was not going to be some easy target for him.  "General, you won't be able to woo me easily." I said as he twirled me and smirked "I love a challenge." He said
When it was done, like last time he kissed my hand and bid me good night as I left with grandma and Grandpa knowing that at least for now I was able to manage my own. Still I was able to turn in and lay down for the night.
The next morning, the sun cast a warm glow over Grandma's house, signaling another day in this temporary haven. As I enjoyed breakfast with Grandma, the doorbell chimed unexpectedly. There, standing in his usual enigmatic manner, was General Kirigan. He had an air of formality, yet his eyes betrayed a hint of curiosity.
"Amira, would you mind joining me for a walk?" he asked, his tone carrying an unexpected warmth. I exchanged a puzzled glance with Grandma before nodding, bidding her a brief farewell, and stepping out into the crisp morning air.
The town, usually serene, seemed to hold its breath as we strolled through its winding streets. The cobblestones beneath our feet echoed the quiet conversation that unfolded between us. General Kirigan was a man of few words, but each one seemed to carry a weighty significance.
As we reached the outskirts of town, the atmosphere shifted. The quaint houses gave way to open fields, and the sounds of everyday life faded into the background. The silence between us became palpable, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves in the gentle breeze.
"You have a remarkable talent," he commented, gesturing to the town behind us. "I hadn't expected to find such a spirited performer in this quiet corner of the world."
I smiled, appreciating the rare compliment. "Life here has its own rhythm. It's easy to overlook the extraordinary in the ordinary."
He nodded thoughtfully, his gaze fixed on the horizon. "Much like you, Amira. There's more beneath the surface than meets the eye."
Our conversation meandered through topics both mundane and profound. He spoke of his experiences, the challenges he faced, and the burdens he carried. In turn, I shared stories of my childhood, the dreams I harbored, and the quiet joys of family.
As we walked, the initial discomfort gave way to a surprising camaraderie. I found myself opening up to this mysterious general, and in return, he revealed glimpses of vulnerability. The walk became a turning point, a bridge between two worlds that seemed irreconcilable.
When he returned me to my grandma's place, he kissed my hand as he'd done many times in our encounters. "Till next time Amira.." He said leaving me speechless and then I went inside

Darkira (Aleksander Morozova x Amira Silina) pt. 4 Time with the General pt.2
He led me over to the table and pulled out the chair for me as I took a seat down, wasn't like I could just do anything else. At first eating was in silence, I was away from my friends..my things..and here with him. My soulmate..what could I do?
"Sun Summoner father, Tidemaker mother. You inherited both." He said as I wouldn't speak but he knew that from my marks on his wrist. "Amira, I just want to talk to you, I have no interest in risking your safety. Consider this escape from first army a debt paid I owe your grandmother." He said as I looked at him then and about chocked on my food when he said that as I had no idea he owed Grandma a debt.
"A debt?" I asked as he nod "Beyond what your father says, I do honor those who helped me in the past..people like your grandmother..and I don't think she'd want you in harms way. So you'll return to her and in four months, I'll come for you to come to the little palace as my protected permanent guest." He offered
I realized he had no intention to put me at the front, to make me Ravka's savior..and yet I thought of Alina. Alina was trained briefly to be a Sun Summoner but she'd denied her power since running off. "You said I won't leave until after the skiff crosses.." I said as he nod and then he left for a second and then came back with a cloak in his color.
Did you know I would be in first army? I thought
I looked at the cloak, it matched the one he had on when he entered our party, he wanted us to match. He wanted people to know that he was claiming me.. "You'll wear this and stand with me as we watch the crossing happen together.." He said as I took another sip of my drink and looked over. "And the protection?" I asked as he looked at me.
"Name someone you trust to be your guard.." He said as I knew I could pick a Grisha, Aiden or I could pick a human, Nico. "A Grisha and A human to protect you." He added as I looked at him knowing that wasn't what I expected.. "Aiden Nikitin and Nicolas Stark." I said
I seen a scowl on his face at mentioning Nico but I wouldn't abandon my best friend for anything. Plus, my sister would get a chance at being with him so in the end he agreed and said he would arrange it for me though I had my doubts. I still thought of Alina but I wouldn't out her..
After we ate he knew I'd been with the cartographers all day so I was good and he walked me over to a table and had me sit. "Let's see your talent." He said as he sat down some distance. "Draw something.." I looked at him but then saw he had materials there and I started to draw something, at first I wasn't even sure what it was going to be but an hour maybe two and I was done.. He walked over and he was shocked seeing what it was..the stag.
"So it calls to you." He said
I knew it called to all Sun Summoners..it was choosing us all but one would be given it's power. I grabbed the drawing and folded it up knowing that he wanted it's power..I wouldn't give it to him even if I could. "I'm tired..it's been a long day" I said as he nod and led me to a cot in another section of his tent. "You'll sleep here." He said as I looked at him but he nod and I gave in and laid down, I felt him put a cover over me and then walk away but stop before he was too far. "Sleep well Amira." He said then continued walking.
He's not what I expected.. I thought as I slept
Aleksander's pov:
I walked away from her, letting her rest as I went to my table and thought about the plans. I knew gaining her trust was essential but I knew she was hiding something too. I just couldn't figure out what..I had more to do and morning came before I knew it. So I had a meal set for when she woke up and I saw her stir. Aiden had walked in with her things as I pointed where she was and I let them have privacy.
When she came to the table with Aiden, she seemed fine as she ate. She didn't have much to say and then we got ready as I had her walk with me.
Amira's pov:
Wearing the kefta and the cloak, walking with him I thought everything would be fine as I saw grisha who were going on the skiff coming out..I saw one of them glare at me. I figured she was close to him or something..yet he had his arm around me as we walked. He motioned for those going on the skiff to head to the skiff and we walked..most didn't see us as they were too busy getting ready but then I saw my General from first army.
"General Kirigan, I see you have Amira..is she Grisha?" General Yure Teplov asked as I looked at him. "I know her family and it comes to light she's someone I need to protect so after the crossing. She's going home." He said which surprised the General Yure Teplov
I wasn't really saying anything but he looked at me "So, is this true?" He asked me as I looked at him. "Yes, sir..apparently I am General Kirigan's soulmate." I said as he noticed my necklace. I refused to say more, I wouldn't admit to being Grisha. "You got through testers somehow." General Yure Teplov said as General Kirigan spoke "Actually she was exempt from it, her arm was harmed." He said
I nod but looked away but then the first army General sighed "Starkov and her team of Cartographers are going on the skiff..maps were destroyed." he showed me the maps and I ran my hand over the burns.
This is..burned by fire..but this one was burned by sun.. I thought
I kept a neutral look and I could tell the sun burn was faint, Alina truly wasn't as strong as me since she probably did it on accident. "I could have redrawn these maps myself.." I said as I knew how to do it. "You're not going." Kirigan said
We walked away after that and I saw the skiff as I stood with him where we could see it..Alina was on it. She was taking a risk for Mal. "Who is Starkov?" Kirigan asked as I looked over at him. "My cousin." I said as we saw it move.
I knew Alina had been selfish with Mal for years..she ran off neglected her training because of Mal..and when her scarf blew our direction..well I grabbed it since it was close. I looked towards the skiff again and saw her looking back as she met eyes with me and seen I was with him in a cloak of his color just before it went in.
Be safe Alina.. I thought
I sat down by him while he stood watching wanting to see..I needed to hear it if the screams happened..and maybe ten, twenty minutes in we did..but then there was Sun light in the fold. I stood up and I realized it was Alina..and then Kirigan took me back to his tent holding my wrist and brought me in there as he saw the realization on my face. "You know that sun light..your cousin?" He asked as I nod..
He had me sit and later Alina was brought in the tent as he was facing me with his back to them. "Come closer." He said to Alina as she stepped closer. He turned around and motioned for me to do as I wanted..he must have figured it out as I went over to her and hugged her. "Are you ok?" I asked as she hugged me back and said nothing. I heard him approach and then backed away as things went another direction than when I came here.
He did test Alina and she was proven to be the Sun Summoner..as she looked surprised..it was out of my hands. I couldn't tell him not to, I can't tell him what to do and Alina begging me to speak up. "Cousin.." Alina said to me as Kirigan looked at her and then over to Ivan. "Take her to the carriage. Escort Ms. Starkov to the little palace." Kirigan said
Ivan nod and then looked back at me who was still behind Kirigan "And the other one?" Ivan asked as Kirigan looked at me and opened his hand to me. I hesitated but took his hand "Ms. Silina will be heading home. For the next four months and then she'll be brought to the little palace as my permanent guest." He said as they nod.
"Tell them.." Alina said as she knew I was a Sun Summoner too but I didn't need to tell them. Kirigan knew already and I had to keep quiet. "Amira, don't do this tell th-" but I stopped Alina "He knows already.." I said as they took her away..
I'm sorry Alina.. I thought

Darkira (Aleksander Morozova x Amira silina) pt. 1 Beginning
Growing up was supposed to be easy, Alina was taken in by the Silina family..her extended family. Amira grew up with her cousin and Catalina didn't make them do much. It was when they were seven and eight that Amira and Alina went to volunteer at an orphange with Catalina as they helped out..and that is where Alina met Mal.
Amira stayed with ger grandmother, helping out and they did this for a week when a grisha group came testing the kids. Amira watched as the kids were tested, some showing to be grisha..and some just human. Amira purposely made sure she had a wound and kept her inner power from showing and then she went to warn Alina but saw Alina with Mal as they were talking and she listened.
"If you want to run, I'll run with you..my family..well they're my extended family." Alina said as Amira was shocked..but then she heard Ana Kuya walking toward the door. She went over and looked at Alina "Be careful Alina.." Amira warned.
Ana Kuya noticed the group of three, she knew the two girls were merely helpers but the Grisha testers were insisting all children tested as she tried to push Amira and Alina along with Mal. Amira got free "Don't.." Amira said as she knew too well what she was but that while wounded she couldn't be tested. Alina had a shard in her hand as Ana Kuya tried to say something but then Catalina came in. "Is there a problem?" Catalina asked
"The Grisha testers want all children within the orphanage tested.." Ana Kuya said to Catalina as Catalina may have been annoyed but she knew Amira was not to be tested. "You cannot have Amira and Alina tested without my consent." Catalina said as Ana Kuya took Mal leaving the two girls.
Catalina looked at the two "Come along, we should go soon." Catalina said as she saw Amira's wound and then put a wrap on her wound. "You are exempt from being tested, decreed by a friend of mine.." Catalina assured Amira as they were heading out..Catalina made it so far with the girls when two grisha got infront of them. "All children are to be tested.." A grisha said as Catalina again remained calm. "Your General can come speak to me directly, Baghra decrees that the children under my care are not to be touched. If your General asks who denied such a thing. you may tell him my name, it's Catalina." She said as they were shocked but let them through.
Alina wanted to go back for Mal, to be friends with him but she had to go..yet few weeks later Alina ran off and met up with Mal as hey ran away together..Just around that time, Catalina knew that Alina would reunite with Amira someday so she'd turned a blind eye. It was dark and she let Amira and her father do their nightly sun practice at dark as Amira struggled with it as she sat watching Amira...but then heard the sound of a carriage as she motioned for them to stop. When she heard the sound of the carriage door opening, she relaxed. "We're in the back, amazing you could make a visit for your mother's old friend." Catalina said
Amira merely watched her grandma as her father led her to a sitting spot and the General came around the house. Catalina watched as the General approached her family "I hear you stopped my Grisha from testing two children.." He said as he saw Amira, he saw her arm banadaged. "She's hurt, they wouldn't have been able to test her anyway." He added
"Baghra has put an exception on my family, as you should be wise and honor such things." Catalina said to him as Amara and Sierra walked out. Aleksander noticed the other girl and seen the girls were twins. "Twins..is she the other girl?" Aleksander asked as Catalina shook her head. "The other is not here, she left..we're looking for her right now." Catalina said as he was not impressed with that.
"Someday we will meet again.." He said but he was looking at Amira, he was old enough to feel it the feeling of his soulmate's initials on his wrist but he wouldn't look for now. He showed himself out and left them in peace.

Darkira (Aleksander Morozova x Amira Silina) pt. 3 Time with the General pt. 1
Nico and I gathered with everyone as we talked about the party just before we were all called for the selection of who would cross the fold. Nico stood behind me as he put a hand on my shoulder, I was unfazed by the gesture since he only wanted to protect me. I knew he cared for me, but I wouldn't betray my sister..and now my soulmate mark was on me.
Listening to all the names, I was relieved and glad that our unit wasn't apart of the skiff crossing but then I looked over at Alina who looked worried. Mal was picked to go, I knew then she'd try to get on the skiff and if I didn't have General Kirigan on my tail now I would help her but my hands were tied. I knew for now I just had to let it go and see what happened as we headed out but our general spoke. "Amira Silina, if you're still here...General Kirigan wants you at his tent tonight.." He said
I heard him but I kept walking as I was going to do things my way, not the General's way as I went about things as normal. We arranged the party and I indulged quite a bit as everyone was celebrating..night fall came..a little sooner than I'd like and I'd completely forgotten about the General and things..Nico and I were dancing as Alina was dancing with Mal. We were carefree in the moment and then the sound of footsteps could be heard..I looked over the side of Nico's arm as I saw Aiden, my half brother and the General.
Saints.. I thought
Aleksander's POV
I looked over the symbols seeing the two..I knew I needed a Sun Summoner for my plans for the fold..but this was Catalina's granddaughter. I owed a debt to Catalina a long time ago when Baghra had abandoned me at a certain point and Catalina showed kindness to me. A woman the same age as my own irritable insuffering mother showed an ounce of kindness to me and not just because my mother was her friend. I knew I couldn't take her granddaughter before the King, make her granddaughter the one who would save Ravka..it would have to be her choice.
Night time came and soon I waited for her to come, yet she never did..I wondered if she was playing hard to get. I went out and motioned for Aiden to come over. "General." Aiden said as I thought about my next words. "Lead me to your sister Aiden, help me find her." I said.
Aiden seemed surprised but he did as I asked and with little time we found a group of soldiers having a little party. I remembered the features of a child ten years ago, brunette with blue eye color. I may not have known her much then but as I looked I noticed not many fit that description. Still, there seemed to be a feel of a celebration and then I saw her, the moment our eyes met I just knew she was Amira. Seeing her dancing with a man so close made me angry that she could do that without a care.
"She's friends with that man, they've been friends since they were kids." Aiden said
A friend? Well that would change but that was probably also a benefit in my pocket. A protector for her when the time came as I cleared my throat and then saw everyone look at me. "I'm looking for Amira Silina" I said
Without a word, most looked at the brunette I saw, the one that I knew was her. Amira looked at me and then she took a deep breath and walked forward. "I'm Amira.." She said as she hid her soulmate mark with her hair. I knew no one could see my real initials on her neck as I took a necklace out of my pocket, a black leather necklace with my symbol on the necklace. I covered up my initials by doing this and she seemed surprised as I removed my hands and held out a hand to her. "We have much to discuss..you'll be sleeping in my tent tonight.." I said
I saw her worry a bit but she hesitated only for a mere second before she put her hand in mine. She looked back at everyone and smiled. "I'll be fine." She assured but I had more going on as I made a motion to Aiden who left and came back with a kefta that was just black and placed it on her. It fit her perfectly and then I heard people asking questions.
"Ms. Silina, is my soulmate..but she is not going to the little palace yet. After the crossing she'll be sent home..where she'll be safe." I said as they looked surprised at my words. I saw even that she was surprised. "You can't just..dismiss me like that." She said as I looked at her. "It is for your safety.  I will need a protector for you so there is that.." I said as she nod before I bid everyone good night and took her to my tent.
Amira's pov
I was speechless, he was serious right now? He was going to send me home..and let my friends be taken by first army. I walked with him but since he'd put me in a black kefta no one looked twice at me. Once in his tent, he let my hand go and I felt a little strange about that. "Keep the necklace on. It'll keep my initals safe from being seen. The kefta will keep you safe from bullets..and you're not actually going home. You're going to Catalina." He said
I was in shock, this man was..well he is my Grisha soulmate and to hear he wasn't going to take me to the little palace was shocking. "So that's it? You're not going to test m-" I didn't finish as he showed me his wrist...sun and tidemaker..my grisha gifts.
"Exposing you would only put you in danger.." he said and then he led me into another part of his tent. He had the largest tent I had ever seen and he offered me a seat as I sat down then noticed the table had been set for two with quite a meal.
The General gets a bit of luxury. I thought
"You must be hungry with that party." Kirigan said as I stayed quiet. I didn't know what to say.

Dual Summoner and The Darkling -Princess version- pt. 11 -Wedding-
Tumblr media
I questioned everything in that moment, I was not supposed to kiss him..I was not supposed to give myself to him until the wedding. I hated it! I was not free from any of this yet and I had another year. Still when it was time for bed I tried to sleep but my heart was not calming down as we were in separate beds. When I finally did fall asleep I was able to sleep before I was awoken by a dream.
Aleksander was right by my side as he put a hand on my cheek and looked at me but it wasn't the first time I'd been woken up like this. "My book.." I said as he moved to my bag and got the sketchbook and pencil but before he handed it to me he opened it seeing the pages were filled with the stag. "You neglected to mention you've been seeing this." He said as he handed it to me and I took it as I made a new sketch out. I used a small bit of light to see as it was dark to get the details right as he went over and watched as the blank page started to show. "Your seeing this when you sleep." Aleksander said
"I always have, my own family members do too that are Sun Summoners." I said as I put it down when I finished and put my hand over my eyes. I hated this but it was the way of life as I saw him reach for it but I grabbed it wrapped my arm around it and I laid down to try to sleep. I knew he was watching me as I figured he hardly slept "You should sleep." I said as he seemed to be looking over the map.
This went on for the week and then for months we were back and forth arguing and sometimes he'd break his resistance to kiss me. I kissed him back but his resistance was what got to me as he managed to pull himself away before it ever went too far. Within the little palace no one ever really knew. I didn't have to attend any parties that I didn't want to with being here and I was under his watch.
Yet the night before the wedding came before I knew it after he'd set things up, my birth parents were there and I was sitting in my room in the little palace. Marie and Nadia who I had a chance to meet were to keep me company were able to keep me from my anxiety as they were playing with different hairstyles for my hair tomorrow.
"Are you nervous?" Marie asked as I smiled a little "I'm terrified..I've known the General since my presentation and I have not always seen eye to eye with him..and I'm terrified of people watching us after the vows." I admitted as the two stopped looking in the mirror. I wasn't even sure if I was ready, maybe I was but I didn't want to be losing what made me innocent infront of so many people.
"I didn't realize so many things were involved but then you're considered the Princess..different expectations." Nadia said but we played cards and since I'd been old enough to drink I had a cup of Kvas. I knew the princes drank this and Nikolai still was not back but I'd sent word of what was happening. So imagine my surprise when I got a letter and I opened it reading it.
"What is it?" Marie asked as I was shocked but then put it away as I knew this was the only way I could be free was to marry Aleksander. "Nikolai..he's coming home. He'll be at the wedding." I said shocking them both. After that we didn't have much else to say except that we knew it was not going to be easy.
When the next morning came I was getting prepared though I admit I wanted to see Aleksander. I'd come to enjoy his company and I'd been secretly sneaking in his room to get used to the idea of sharing a room. The temptation there the whole time but I knew it wasn't allowed so I had to go with what was going on. Marie and Nadia helped me in the dress that I was to wear for the wedding.
Tumblr media
Since my grandmother and grandfather had came my grandmother came to my room and decided to help with my hair for the wedding. I was hesitant but still I missed her and was glad things could be good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I could tell she was working on making it work as we were silent at first before she spoke. "Aleksander is your Grisha soulmate..your father said the King and Queen allowed it only because of this.." I didn't move but I smiled "I'm nervous..but I'm happy..sadly I am subjected to their ways.." I said as I hated it. Being subjected to the King and Queen's rules it wasn't fair but then I remembered she had brought some family things as she smiled.
My grandma looked in the mirror with me as I smiled seeing her smiling. "You're a beautiful bride Amira." Grandma said as I was still hesitant but this was my freedom. "One last thing you have to endure is this wedding and what the royals require..after that you're free." Grandma assured me as I nod in agreement.
I got up from where I was after grandma put the veil on me and pulled the part that went over my face. When we were done I heard the sound of my door as I looked seeing my birth father there. He offered his hand to me "Your future awaits my Princess." Father said as I figured the king allowed him this. After all biologically I was my birth father's daughter as I took a breath and took his hand as he led me out. "I hate this..you marrying him..knowing who he is." Father said softly as I knew it was true. "I can..change his mind." I assured him
When we made it to the room I got nervous with all the people looking at me and I was held with high expectations. Aleksander looked back at me as he seemed in shock with how I was dressed up. My heart squeezed in my chest as I wanted to deny this to say I wasn't in love with him..but I am in love with him. When my father and I made it to the end of the aisle he handed my hand to Aleksander yet I felt it in his grip he didn't want to.
It'll be ok dad..but you won't like what is next. I thought
We were grisha soulmates therebefore we went with a different direction as the priest brought forth wine and a cup as the priest filled it. I didn't pay attention to the first part of what he said as I looked at Aleks. I was to marry him, be the General's wife and give him claim to the Ravkan throne. Somehow it all felt like so much was happening at once when the priest got my attention.
"Princess Amira" he said as he offered me a ceremonial knife as I looked at it then at him as Aleksander whispered in my ear "You have to cut me lightly just enough for a few drops." He whispered as I looked at him. I realized I must have looked like a fool but I wasn't even sure as I took it and he held his hand over the cup.
I'm really doing this...our blood will mix in this cup and we'll drink. I'll be bound to him..to my Grisha soulmate..to the black heretic.. I thought
I knew that last thought about him being the black heretic was a bit harsh, he didn't really seem power hungry as they said. He'd told me and I'd accepted he probably was wanting to destroy the fold as I kept hold of the knife and then made the light cut seeing the blood drops go into the cup as I put the blade and got the cloth wrapping it around the cut. After that Aleksander took my hand as I was still hesitant as he took the ceremonial knife and made a slight cut as I flinched as drops of my blood dropped into the cup before he set the knife down and got the cloth wrapping it around my own.
I saw the look on my dad's face that I would be blood bound to him by this marriage but this was my freedom. The priest mixed it before us as a healer came over to tend to us then sat down before the priest handed me the cup. "Moya Tsarevna" the priest said getting my attention as I took the cup knowing the blood in it was a Dual Summoner's blood and a Shadow Summoner's blood who had used Merzost. "Repeat after me Moya Tsarevna. I, Princess Amira take you General Kirigan as my husband as I drink from the cup of our shared life to come." The Priest said as I looked at Aleksander "I, Princess Amira take you General Kirigan as my husband as I drink from the cup of our shared life to come." I said as I lifted the cup to my lips and drank half the wine mixed with our blood then I handed the cup to him.
The priest then looked at him "General, please repeat after me. I, General Kirigan take you Princess Amira as my wife as I drink from the cup of our shared life to come." The Priest said as Aleksander looked at me. Part of him wanted to say the truth and perhaps he would once we were away but for now he'd follow the priest. "I, General Kirigan take you Princess Amira as my wife as I drink from the cup of our shared life to come." He said as he put the wine to his lips and drank what was left. We truly did not need rings bound by what was already happening yet a servant brought them as we took the one for the other, he slid the one for me on my ring finger and I did the same for him.
"By the power vested in me by the saints, I now pronounce you husband and wife. General you may kiss your bride." The priest said as Aleksander claimed my lips in a kiss. I kissed him back and once that was done people headed over to the other room where the next part was going to be. We were left alone as no one else was there and Aleksander kneeled down before me as he looked at me. "I, Aleksander Morozova take you Amira Silina as my wife for as long as we both live." He said to me as we were eternal and I smiled. "Say it please Amira..the right way." Aleksander asked as I nod. "I, Amira Silina take you Aleksander Morozova as my husband for as long as both live." I said
Aleksander stood up and kissed me again as he held me close and I kissed him back but still to the people I was Princess Amira. "We need to go." I said as he nods and brushed a piece of hair out of my face. "I'll do what I can to protect you from being too exposed at the wedding night part for now, enjoy the next part the wedding dinner." Aleksander said as he led me to the other room.
Wedding part over..wedding dinner now..then the wedding night. I thought

Dual Summoner and the Darkling -Princess verison- pt. 9
After the fete a few days had passed, my days consisted of either walking around the little palace, horse riding or secretly planning to take me away from both palaces. Aleksander had gone today to talk to them about the whole marriage at seventeen talk. I was to be Ravka's savior but the General's wife as I walked to the chair and sat down brushing my hair. I started to see Amira not Princess Amira the longer I was here.
I see me, not some princess that was adopted. I thought
There was a knock as I looked at the door "Come in." I said as Genya walked in. "Saints, you're not going to be ready." Genya said as she went over and started to help me. I was wondering what she was talking about as we looked at each other in the mirror. "Wait for what?" I asked as she looked at me in the mirror. "The General has sealed the deal for your wedding to be next year and he asked to take you with him while he's gone for the week." Genya said as I was surprised. I thought about it knowing, unlike Genya I was pure in the eyes of the people, even if they didn't I hadn't done anything beforehand. "Genya..Do you think that perhaps.." I started
Genya looked at me, I think she knew what I was considering "You think General Kirigan will try to steal your first kiss?" Genya asked as I looked at her in the mirror while she did her tailor small science. "Is it impossible to be thinking such things? The idea of a first kiss at the wedding in front of everyone doesn't appeal to me." I admitted
For a while Genya seemed quiet at the idea of it, she couldn't say for sure what was going on. "I suppose it is possible, but he would probably try to put you both in a romantic setting away from prying eyes." Genya said as I smiled a little thinking about the idea. "I suppose that is fair but I don't really have a ring to even show for the marriage." I pointed out as she laughed a bit as she was finishing up. "He's got everything planned out, trust him Amira." Genya said
If we become the King and Queen of Ravka, I can make life better for Genya. I thought as one perk of having a right to the throne.
When Genya was done I smiled as she got my Kefta as she brought it over, then she started to pick up my necklace for the royals but I put my hand up. "No, I think it's time for a at home necklace." I said as I got in the drawer and I pulled out the family crest of my birth family putting it on. "I am a Silina, even if the others don't know. I'm not a Lanstov." I said as Genya noticed my confidence. She started to leave before coming back with a light bag of things for the trip. "The General wants you to pack light, he will take care of the rest and it's already taken care of ." Genya said
He had a good point, I'll never be free until this marriage happens..perhaps I shouldn't be so cruel to him. He is trying to fix the fold...fix his mistake. I thought
"What are my arrangements going to be while we're out?" I asked as I was making sure I didn't take anything of overly value to have stolen. "The General is going to insist you share a tent with him, he's got two bed cots prepared so that you're securely protected." Genya said as I looked at her wondering if she as joking but she didn't crack a smile once. I just had to take it in stride here.
After packing light, I was led out there to where everyone else was and I saw him waiting with his carriage. I had no use for formalities but Ivan opened the door and he offered his hand to me. I took it as he led me on and helped me with the light bag as we got in. I was going to sit across from him but when Ivan and Fedyor got in and sat across from me that's when I realized he was sitting by me.
"What an honor it is, but I notice you did not wear any of your royal jewels." Fedyor said as I smiled knowing why. I pulled out the necklace I did have "Because I am embracing who I truly am. I am a De La Rosa and Silina not really a Lanstov." I said as Fedyor looked surprised. "It is true, she is adopted. But that still makes her my Grisha soulmate Fedyor." Aleksander said as he adjusted me some and put his arm around me to hold me close.
should you be doing this? I thought
It felt like hours before we made it as Fedyor and Ivan got out first then Aleksander let me go out. As I got out of the carriage and looked around I saw Grisha setting up his tent as he got out after me. Some of the Grisha there looked at us and I swear they wondered who I was. Without my jewels I was just Amira, an unknown Grisha. Yet as I was in my own thoughts I heard a familiar voice and my heard turned quickly. "Nico.." I said as I looked
Nicolas Stark, a connection to my past as a Grisha girl who had once lived in the village. Back then we were only kids but there was just this familiar sense of knowing. Despite hearing Aleks say to stay close I ended up marching right over ignoring Fedyor and Ivan as I had a goal. "Nicolas Stark" I said as he stopped talking with his fellow first army and looked at me. At first he seemed confused as if he didn't recognize me and I faltered infront of him.
"Do I know you Miss?" Nicolas asked as I felt hurt he didn't recognize me. "Amira..we used to run around in a field together as kids before...before I was...adopted" I said as he looked at me and listened intently to my words. The realization was a relief to me as I laughed a bit "Nico, I swear you didn't forget me. Did you?" I asked but before he could answer I felt the shadows coming.
"Soldier, I see Moya Tsarevna seems to know you." Aleksander said as I crossed my arms. "We're old friends, before I became Moya Tsarevna" I retorted as he looked at me. For the first time since the courting I thought I felt my heart skip a beat knowing he was my freedom still...this was freedom in some way. "Yes, General." Nicolas said
"Your name and rank?" General asked as I didn't know what he wanted from me and knowing about my friend. "Nicolas Stark, tracker." Nicolas said as Aleksander seemed interested in that. "Amira is to be kept a close eye on, she dislikes my right hand Grisha so perhaps you would keep an eye on her while she's with me." Aleksander said as Nico nod in agreement.
Aleksander left me with Nico as he showed me around, but people just saw me as a Grisha. "So what is with you and the General? You arrived with him in his carriage?" Nico asked while showing me around. "He's my Grisha soulmate and he's planning to marry me next year." I admitted as Nico got infront of me as he looked at me getting infront of me as he noticed I was not kidding. "So that's it..you'll be a General's wife." Nico said as I sighed as I walked away and he followed. "I have to or I will never be free. DO things like this." I told him
Nico just nod as he showed me around

Dual Summoner and the Darkling -Princess version- pt. 6
Still in shock, I wanted to know how he did it when he talked with others and made them influenced to do as he said. When I was able to I walked out of the party room, with my parents behind me and I kept walking. The servants all bowed to me as they watched as I had a destination and I was not going to be stopped as I started removing the tiara and the necklace tired of this already as my mother took it.
"My lady, where do you think you're going?" A servant asked
"I need some fresh air." I said
I had an outfit prepared for me by another servant as I made it outside and they handed me. I walked in a dark area as I changed and came out giving the servant the dress and my mother gave them the jewels. I was free in some way so I was going to use it, as I saw Baghra and I walked over to her. "Well, I never thought I would see you in a Kefta." Baghra said as I shrugged. "Feels like freedom to me, even though it's black." I said having taken notice of it. "It was premade for you." Aleksander's voice said as I looked back at him.
"You followed me?" I asked as I glared a bit now that we were away from all nobles and he smirked a bit as he walked over putting a hand under my chin to make me look at him. "Your safety is my responsibility now, for the next two years." Aleksander said as I smacked his hand away. "I will never be a solider." I said as he nod "You're not old enough to even be in that Kefta, yet you look stunning in it." Aleksander said
I looked away from him and I just walked around with my parents to deal with my thoughts. I needed space and I needed time to think. As we walked I kept thinking about what to do when it came to my Grisha soulmate. "You could reject him, Once your away from them." Father said but I shook my head. "The royals will be watching my every move." I reminded him
I'm sixteen, I probably could learn to like my Grisha soulmate. I thought
Time went by since then, I was staying in a room in the General's wing but since I wasn't a solider and I was still considered the Princess so I was forbidden from doing any training with the other Grisha. When I walked out of the room one day in the Kefta I was allowed to wear with the General's color I bumped into one of the soldiers. "Watch where you're going." A female voice said
I looked at her seeing she had black hair, brown eyes and darker complexion than my own as she looked at me noticing I was not in any of the Grisha colors but the General's color and I was wearing my necklace I was allowed to keep from my birthday. "Are you new or something? Does the Tsar and Tsaritsa know you're here?" She asked quite rudely before noticing my necklace "And where did you get that from? Did you steal it?" She accused as I hadn't had a chance to speak as I was about to say something when I felt the tingling and sensed the shadows. "Zoya!" Aleksander said getting her attention as he walked over and she showed her respect. "General, I was just asking this ne-" but Aleksander cut her off. "Princess Amira is not your concern, she is  Moya Tsarevna and she is my Grisha soulmate." Aleksander said
Zoya looked at him shocked then looked at me as she bowed before me "My apologies,  Moya Tsarevna. I had no idea we were having the Princess in the little palace." Zoya said as I just was quiet. I already didn't like her just from how she ran her mouth to me and if she knew I was adopted she'd be more than happy to go back mistreating me. "Amira doesn't socialize much with Grisha, she has only been around me and Baghra." Aleksander said to Zoya who was surprised but then she bowed and walked away.
"I don't like her." I said to Aleksander as he looked at me "Well, you did just move over here yesterday and you wear my color. The kefta is to keep you safe from bullets but you're free to roam the halls and if you meet any Grisha who you find their company around then I can assign them to you as Grisha guards." I knew he was just trying to win me over with this but I liked the gesture he was putting out. "Can I go train with Baghra?" I asked as I knew I still wasn't going to be part of 2nd army even when I was old enough. "Baghra has been your teacher but as with every night you'll dine with me." Aleksander said
My hero for my freedom..only to be told I have to dine with you every night. I thought
I was glad he could never read my mind because he was not going to like what the would have heard. The answer to my freedom was the black heretic, I kept reminding myself as I walked away and went to Baghra's hut. I didn't need to be reminded of anything else at tha moment. When I made it Baghra took me to an open field where she trained me to be a leader, a Queen in some ways or someone who could lead but with Grisha.
"You've improved a lot since we started when you were younger." Baghra said "Your grandmother would be proud of you."
I smiled at the fact that people thought that I could lead but I was in a good mood. I saw the look on Baghra's face when she looked at me though. "What is it?" I asked as Baghra sighed. "There is something you should know." Baghra said as I waited for her to speak. "What is it?" I asked
"There is a blood pact between the families, the first Sun Summoner daughter and the first Shadow summoner son to wed once the Sun Summoner daughter turned eighteen." Baghra said

Dual Summoner and the Darkling -Princess version- pt. 8
TagList: @lifeisingrey,  @houseoftoomanyfandoms
I was ready to get this over with, these parties I rather loathed but as I was about to get up I heard a knock on the door. I walked over to see that it was Aleksander at the door and I suppose it was best to be grateful. He offered his arm to me and I accepted it as I looked back at Genya for a last look before we left. "How have you liked your transition from the grand palace?" Aleksander asked me as I knew he could only court me at the moment. "It's been very relaxing." I admitted
We were not going over to the grand palace, no it was being held in the little palace. I was just glad it wasn't too far as we made it in. Aleksander had no choice but to walk and greet my adopted parents as we walked over. "Tsar, Tsaritsa." Aleksander said as they looked then the Queen looked at me. "Amira, this dress...it's not the choice we sent over." The Queen said as I knew it wasn't. "I thought it was best to honor the agreement, after all he is my Grisha soulmate." I said as they seemed to accept it.
I still look the part of the Princess. I thought
"Come, we'll watch the other Grisha start their performance." Aleksander said to me as he led me away and I waved bye to my adopted parents. I noticed his look change as I figured it out. "You don't like these performances?" I asked, "I find them tideous for Grisha, but it is what the King and Queen want." Aleksander said as we heard people talking about me and my Grisha abilities but the King and Queen denying me to be Ravka's savior. "It seems Nobles do talk." I said
Soon it started as we watched the Inferni start their performance of throwing fire around and watching it. I looked back seeing Genya was by the wall but she was looking at a Grisha in purple. Curiosity had me but I would not ask as I noticed he seemed to also be watching her as I looked forward. "A shame that not every Grisha can be with who they want to." I said as I felt his eyes on me. "Why would you say that?" Aleksander asked as I looked at him before looking back at Genya again. "Because Genya works for the Queen and she seems to like one of the 2nd army Grisha." I pointed out as I looked at him. "I feel sorry for Genya, even I barricaded my door and I tried to cover my ears of Genya's crying for help...I felt powerless and even now I.." I felt his arm tighten as his hand moved to mind and for a minute the thought crossed his mind. "The King did not try to touch you inappropriately?" Aleksander asked as I shook my head no. "The Queen never left me alone with him." I assured him
Aleksander seemed to be more protective about what was going on, I was able to calm him down as we watched the Grisha performance. I was just glad that everything seemed to be working out. I may not be happy about being the Grisha soulmate of the Heretic but he was looking out for me. After the performance, I was going to suggest getting something to drink when a noble walked over. "Princess Amira, I see you are looking great." The Noble said as I smiled. "Yes, I am. Thank you." I said as I had to put this act up. The Noblemen kept talking with us, seeming to inquire on how our courting was going as it'd been a couple of months, and seemed most disappointed that things were going well.
The King walked up to the stage and I wondered what he was going to do at this winter Fete. "I want to thank all for this, but I think it's time we don't keep secrets from you." The King said, "In light of not finding another Sun Summoner. The Queen and I have decided to announce that starting next year on her seventeenth birthday, if she chooses to she may learn to destroy the fold and become Ravka's savior." The nobles were talking as I was stunned in shock hearing this. They were going to let me be apart of the 2nd arm in some way just for the purpose of destroying the fold.
Of course, because it looks good on you. I thought
The King made a motion to me "Amira, please. Maybe a presentation." The King said, I knew there was many things I could do but deny my adopted father was not one of them. Aleksander looked at me and I looked at him. "I have nothing prepared." I said to him as he thought about it and whispered something in my ear then led me up there as the King went back to his chair. "The Dual Summoner, Princess Amira." Aleksander said as he went infront of me as he darkened the room.
I hope this works. I thought
I knew Baghra had taught me a few tricks and she was teaching me techniques as I put my hands together before I brought forward the sun in one and tidemaker in the other. I adjusted my hand as the sun in my hand split into small orbs of sun and then I had the tidemaker water form a circle as it went through my sun forming a rainbow for a presentation then when I let the tidemaker water go I pulled the sun back to me as I made it bigger and sent it out. I knew for myself this was to see if I could do it myself as I expanded the light as it brightened the room then put my hands together as it went dark and Aleksander let the shadows go.
I was still nervous as he walked over and took my hand as he kissed the top of it before looking at the people. "Princess Amira, the Dual Summoner. Ravka's soon to be hero." Aleksander said as everyone cheered. Aleksander led me away but then I started hearing people say 'Sankta Amira' as I shook my head. "I am not saint." I said
"Let's get you something to eat." Aleksander said to get my attention off the things as I nod. We walked over to the assortment and I chose what I wanted. I was not really that hungry but enough as we found a place to sit as I ate. He noticed I didn't have a drink and quickly went to get one as I knew he was being a gentleman.
400 years shows with you. I thought
He brought me a drink and I accepted it glad I didn't need some taste tester for food prepared for everyone. Aleksander sat by me as he waited and I looked at him. "You're not hungry?" I asked as I did feel a bit self-conscious. "The nobles are merely looking at you right now, it would look bad upon the courtship if I didn't attend to your needs." Aleksander said as I looked at the nobles seeing they were watching.
Everyone is watching to see if this goes south...this isn't freedom..it's still tied to the royals...is marriage freedom? I thought
After I was done, a few servants came over taking my plate and empty drink as they bowed and walked away. I was in a turmoil of a mood now, I just wanted to be free from all this and it wasn't being here. Aleksander seemed to notice so he escorted me out to the dance floor where we danced to a Ravkan waltz. I didn't mind as I relaxed at the distraction but after the dance I covered my mouth to yawn.
"Are you tired?" Aleksander asked me as I nod, I didn't trust my voice to speak at the moment. Aleksander nod as he walked over to the royals, where I didn't want to be but I had to with walking with him. "Tsar, Tsaritsa it would seem Princess Amira is tired for the night. I shall escort her to her room for the evening." Aleksander said as the Queen looked at me. "Do take care of her General, we do adore Amira." The Queen said as I held back a scoff but he adjusted his arm around me. "She has become the world to me in a short time as my Grisha soulmate. Perhaps if you insisit on her becoming Ravka's hero we could consider marriage talks when she is seventeen." Aleksander said
Marriage at seventeen?! I thought
"I don't see a problem with that, it's custom for Princesses to marry young." The King said as I held my tongue on my thoughts. Aleksander seemed to be more interested in this "I will come by then in a few days to talk about such things." Aleksander said as I knew he was just looking to gain. Before he walked me back to my quarters in his hall, I saw his shoulders relax as we walked. "Are you serious?" I asked as he looked at me before looking forward. "I am, you will never be free of them as long as you are unwed." Aleksander said, "Once you and I would become married then your actions would reflect on me not them."
I suppose that's a fair thing to consider. I thought

Dual Summoner and the Darkling -Princess version- pt. 7
Pairing: Aleksander Morozova/General Kirigan x Princess Amira
TagList: @lifeisingrey,  @houseoftoomanyfandoms (if you want to be added to the TagList just ask)
"There is a blood pact between the families, the first Sun Summoner daughter and the first Shadow summoner son to wed once the Sun Summoner daughter turned eighteen." Baghra said
I stood there looking at her for a few minutes as I hoped that she was bluffing that it wasn't true. A blood pact between the families? I was the first Sun Summoner daughter in my bloodline! Other than my grandmother there hadn't been any more Sun Summoner females in our bloodline except me, which meant I was going to have to marry Aleksander even if I didn't want to.
"I'm sorry Amira, but had there been another before you then this wouldn't have happened." Baghra said as I moved my hair where the intials could be seen on my neck. "The saints approve of this it would seem." I said as Baghra came over and noticed my neck. She seemed surprised but maybe that was the reason.
He is my freedom but I am his salvation? I thought
"Your powers are great but even you could never be ready to take down the fold." Baghra said which caught me off guard. She literally had told me I was a model student for being an adopted princess and now she was telling me I wasn't good enough to take down the fold? Well, the King and Queen didn't want me anywhere near it since they adopted me. "Could I be more useful than just a tool for the throne?" I asked Baghra
Baghra looked at me knowing I didn't find the soulmates mark or the blood pact arrangement as means to what they wanted. I was just a tool right now, I could give him the throne of Ravka if being the last one standing in the royal family.  "Unless I have the stag, I will never be able in e to take down the fold. I can't be Ravka's savior because the royals forbid it." I said as I was not blind to any of it. Always something to gain is what people ever saw with me and not something for me to gain in the process. "You may be sixteen but you are quite bright." Baghra said
After that meeting a few months passed and it was another Winter Fete, I was to be presentable as the adopted crowned Princess but that was the problem. I hated the idea of these dresses as I laid in my bed waiting. I looked up at the Ceiling wondering what kind of attire my adopted family would put me in tonight as I heard a knock and saw Genya.
"Amira, you haven't gotten ready?" Genya asked as I looked at her "My dress hasn't arrived yet." I said as I went to bathe in the bathroom Aleksander allowed me to have. I didn't mind being in the water it soothed my worries as I washed up before putting the robe on and walking out. I was pacing since this was the first winter Fete I was going to be escorted by him.
Am I just mere tool for those who look at me? It's not a bad question, but it still worries me. I thought when a knock came.
As they entered I expected a dress bag but instead I was given boxes as I looked at them seeing there were a few. "What the.." I said being surprised as Genya went looking. "Oh, seems you have two options." Genya said as she pulled both dress options out for me to see. The royals were a bit more high standard to me and the General's choice was a bit more laid back.
Choices:
Royal's
Tumblr media
Darkling's choice
Tumblr media
It was a hard decision to make since I didn't know what to choose. A formal gown in the royal color or a dress that went black to blue which represented my type of Grisha and his color. It was also like a claim on me when I saw it. I walked over and between the two I chose the ombre one because it was more matching my jewels for the night. "This on Genya." I said as she nod putting the other one in my closet for another time. Once Genya helped me get it on I realized how comfortable I felt in it before she started to do my hair.
Tumblr media
After she styled my hair she put my Princess Tiara on my head and for a moment I sighed. I wanted to be normal not dealing with these items again.
Tumblr media
After that she had me sit and started on my makeup, she was sure to make an impression for me tonight. It would be the first Winter Fete I would be entering in courting with the General. Courting was a good term cause I was more than wanting to take this slow. Still when she was done she had me look and I smiled. "Wait you're missing something." Genya said as she went over to the boxes. She walked over placing it around my neck as I saw it was the Darkling's symbol. Then she went back and had me stand up as she helped me put on like a mini jacket but it was made of the same material the Keftas were made of.
"So you don't get cold tonight." Genya said as I was impressed he was considering what was best for me. "I am sure the royals will have a lot to say tonight. Genya how much do you report to him?" I asked as she was surprised as I was more alert than people took me for. "I'm sorry that I haven't been there to help with the King. He sickens me to even call him father when he is not." I said as she nod

Dual summoner and the Darkling -princess version- pt. 5
Pairing: Dual Summoner Amira Silina and Darkling General Kirigan/Aleksander Morozova
Glossary: otkazat’sya- Non-Grisha
After that Fete, I kept to myself but as promised he made up reasons for me to have to leave the grand palace. I was to pick up more 'classes' with him as I like the way that sounded, I had some simpler outfits that Genya snatched for me which was a shirt and pants like 2nd army. I was glad this was an option instead of a dress, the shoes were so much more comfortable. "I could get used to this." I said
"Well don't get used to it just yet." General Kirigan said as we walked but I wanted to know what the AM stood for. "What does the initials stand for? If you're last name is Kirigan than you can't really have an M in your name." I asked as I walked beside him. "I'll tell you whatever you want to know when we're in a more secure location." General Kirigan told me. I wanted to know but nod as we kept going, turns out we were going horse riding so we saddled up the horses and he took me off grounds. I was in better confidence on the horse so when it was going fast I let go of the reins and laughed a bit before getting ahold of it. He led me to an open area where there was a well.
"it's a well." I said as I noticed he got down and I followed getting down to knowing there was much. The Apparat I didn't care for him but he was creepy enough as I noticed the carvings walking over and traced them. "The story of how the fold was created. A former king hired a Grisha to be his adviser, a shadow summoner." I said as he chuckled a little knowing what people called. "You can say it, the black heretic." General Kirigan said, I shook my head as I pointed to the next one "this part, it doesn't seem right. It says the summoner was obsessed with power but our powers only go so far." I said with my back to him knowing there was so much I didn't know. "You don't think the black heretic was power hungry?" Kirigan asked as I shook my head. "there's missing pieces, why would he want more power unless something happened. Someone he cared about was killed or died possibly? So, he used a power he didn't understand causing the people in the land and himself to die." I answered
I looked back to look him in the eyes to see what was going through his head at that moment. He only had this surprised look like I looked past the story to something more. "Unless the black heretic didn't die by your reaction. Baghra is your mother." I said confronting him with what I'd heard in my unconscious state back at my presentation. His expression changed quickly as I stood up and he walked over to look into my eyes. "If only you were just a little older. I never expected anyone to see past that story the otkazat’sya put together.
"Your real name, you owe me that at least." I said confronting him knowing no matter what he said she wanted the truth. "Aleksander." He said as he looked at me and he moved his sleeve showing my initials AS. "Your real last name, Amira?" Aleksander asked. I knew my father informed me through a letter of my birth last name as I looked at him. "Silina," I said as I moved my necklace and showing his initials. "Morozova." Aleksander said as I let it go in shock as I'd heard that last name before. Sankt Ilya Morozova was the first Grisha saint. "You're related to Sankt Ilya." I said
He walked away and sighed "Luckily a tailor can modify those initials long enough when I come forward to claim you from the royals." Aleksander said, "My father doesn't approve of this. There is nothing between us except teacher and student." I said as I walked back to the horse. I was going to start heading back but he pulled me back and I looked at him. "Your father has no power over what the saints deem." Aleksander said
I knew he was right but that didn't mean I liked the idea of the black heretic being my soulmate.  Still, after that, we headed back and I hardly said a word. Once I made it back I think I avoided him for a year and a half. I started missing Nikolai as I thought about a time when he was here in my memory. He'd joked he was going to marry me cause I wasn't his blood sister.
Fourteen isn't bad...two more years. I thought
Those two years went by before I knew it and I didn't know what was going to happen. Count down to the day it was not going to work out, I knew Nikolai wouldn't make it back before this day. He'd been doing things across seas and I didn't even love my adopted brothers like family. Prince Vasily ignored my presence, the Queen didn't spend much time with me anymore, and the King...I locked my room at night now.
Poor Genya...there's nothing I can do to help her. I thought
By the time I was closing in on my sixteenth birthday, Genya came in to help me and she made me look presentable. I was to wear a tiara this time but I didn't feel the part as I sighed rubbing my arm. "You look great." Genya said as she looked at me in the mirror before she loosened my necklace to show the initials and modified the M to a K. It was temporary but it was for the best, "Might I suggest another necklace?" Genya asked as we looked over my jewelry for tonight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After getting myself ready for the night I was worried about all this, it was going to be a big party but it was also where Aleksander could come forward. "Are you excited, tonight your Grisha soulmate may come forward to claim you before another royal can." Genya said as I had two years to consider it. My Grisha soulmate is the black heretic, the reason the problem in Ravka was here. If I wanted to get out of royalty society then I had to accept him at least for now. "Perhaps." I said, "I heard the King talking about tonight, he seems to be interested in knowing who it is. Whoever comes forward will have a chance to become next in line for the throne if anything would happen to Prince Vasily." Genya mentioned
I looked in the mirror at her as I had no idea that they were giving me a claim on the throne. No wonder the general was so adamant about coming forward as my Grisha soulmate, he could get the throne if anything happened to the heir of the throne. "this claim to the throne that my Grisha soulmate would have...is only if I marry them, correct?" I asked Genya knowing marriage was an option for me. I didn't have to get married to get claimed as someone's Grisha Soulmate.
When Genya was done I sighed as I walked to the throne room with Genya behind me, the Queen had assigned her to help me when she wasn't assisting the Queen. As I walked in there I saw everyone who was there, my parents were there as I nodded to them. I think they were awe-struck with seeing me dressed up like a princess. I was treated as one of the people as my hair was kept down to keep my Grisha soulmate's initials kept hidden. The king approached offering his hand as I took it and he led me up to where the thrones were.
"Thank you for coming, today is a special day. Amira turns sixteen today and is of age to enter into a courtship but since she is Grisha. Her Grisha Soulmate may have first claim of her if he is present and steps forward." The King said, Amira silently prayed he wouldn't move as she looked and her eyes met Aleksander's eyes. Yet, against her silent prayer he walked forward and bowed "Moi Tsar, I am Amira's Grisha soulmate. I bear the proof here." Aleksander said as he showed his wrist to the King showing my initials AS for Amira Silina. "On her neck, you will see my initials there."
As the King let my hand go he looked at me "Amira, if you will." The King said as I sighed before moving my hand and pulling my hair to the side. There on my neck were the initials AK for the King to see. I knew the truth, it was AM but a tailor had the power to manipulate for a short time as he planned. Genya worked for him, he had this all planned out. "I see, then you are claiming her. I assume." The King said, "Yes, Tsar. I want nothing but to make her happy." Aleksander said
I saw the King give his approval as he motioned for me to go, I held back my sigh as I walked down seeing Aleksander offer his hand and I took it. "From this day, I will do everything to show you I want nothing but your happiness." Aleksander said to me, but I could see past his words. I was the Sun Summoner who was also Tidemaker so he had use for my powers. I had to be formal with him for now "General, I had no idea. What shall I call you from now on?" I said, a lie in front of everyone. We both knew I'd known his name for two years. "Aleksander." He said as he kissed the top of my hand.
We mingled with guests who were wishing us good fortune in our future, while others I heard whispering how inappropriate it was for the General to be my Grisha Soulmate. If they knew how old he truly was they would talk more. After we talked more, we finally made it to my parents. I figured my father would not be happy and say something but he wanted me to have my freedom.
"You are Amira's father." Aleksander said to my father, I looked at him waiting to find out what he would say. "We've met before General, our mother's are very well acquainted." Father's words were clear as day for me, I knew they were both four hundred and something years old. "Ah yes, I thought you were familiar. I have heard great things about Amira's grandmother. Sad she hasn't had a chance to meet such a powerful Grisha. She is still alive, correct? It's so very rare for Ancient Grisha to be alive." Aleksander said as he looked at me and he seemed to be staring at me. "Your daughter is beautiful and I will make sure to take care of her."
I could see Father wanted nothing more than to use light on him but that wasn't an option. This was the saints who had chosen this union and I had to accept it even though right now I didn't. I looked at my father knowing that for now, he had to trust in this union to work. Aleksander was my freedom from the royal family.
When the music started, Aleksander led me out to the dance floor and danced with me. Unlike the last time we danced, I wasn't smiling but I put on a fake smile when the King was looking. "You're unhappy." Aleksander said I knew there was things I didn't know about him. "How can I trust you?" I said as I looked at him. Aleksander merely looked at me as we danced. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for you. I'll try to get your things moved to the little palace so you can have more freedom." Aleksander said
Why don't I trust you completely? I thought
I looked away as we danced and sighed a bit "I can't trust you'll be loyal. You've probably laid with others." I said as he twirled me while we danced. "I guess I'll just have to earn your trust. How about I start with getting you out of here?" Aleksander said as I looked at him knowing that was probably best. The King did creep me out and I think Aleksander could figure that out.
After the party, he kissed the top of my hand leaving me with my real parents as he went over talking with them. "I still don't like him." Father said, "We must trust he knows what he is doing father. As he is the only one who can get me out of here." I said calmly, I had to make this work for my freedom. "What did you hear about the throne?" Mother asked, I sighed knowing I wouldn't tell him this. "I have a claim on it, if something ever happens to the heir." I said knowing that was all they needed to know.
When he walked over, he seemed very confident as if he won in whatever he was talking about. "It is done, tomorrow you'll be staying over at the little palace in my hall." Aleksander said I was surprised it was that easy for him to convince them. Then again he had a certain charm everyone fell for in some way.

Dual Summoner and the Darkling -princess verison- pt. 4
For the next few years, I was groomed to be a princess and to be ready for anything. When I was twelve almost thirteen I was excited about my birthday and the winter fete. I was more confident now but I needed to get through this. My powers had grown too so I wasn't falling unconscious from using them simultaneously. Baghra was impressed with my effort and I had more work on my hand than the normal princess.
I wasn't so afraid but I decided to wear a necklace now, I wanted to keep the initials covered and the king gave it to me. So I wore it proudly as I would with anything I was asked to come to the throne room that something was going on. I walked in there as I wanted to see and saw that General Kirigan was here with a Grisha girl who looked like she could be around my age.

"Ah, here she is. Amira come here." The King said as I walked over to him standing by the Queen since my adopted brother was on the other side. The other brother had decided to go study abroad so it was just the two of us now. "Moi Tsar, Moya Tsaritsa this Genya Safin. She's a tailor and she could be useful to you." General Kirigan said as I watched intently at what was going on. "Genya will be useful to help my wife and Amira get ready for the next winter fete." The King said
From that day forward Genya was put in the service of the Queen more than the King, but she did make time for me as the King said. It wasn't so bad since she helped us look our best every day but then I started to notice marks on her. "Who did this?" I asked her in concern. "The Queen, but it's ok." Genya said as she put her thumbs together then moved her thumb over the bruise marks and they healed. "You're a healer?" I asked as Genya had me sit forward with a smile. "I am a tailor, but I can heal and modify." Genya said
You're Grisha, are you spying for him? I thought
Genya tapped my necklace lightly, getting my attention as I was in my thoughts. "Are you hiding something princess?" Genya asked as I sighed. "Like you, I am Grisha. I don't know what went wrong with my parents but the royals adopted me." I said as she was busy working with what little she had. "What is your special power?" Genya asked as I  was surprised. Not many people ever asked me what I was, they just went about like I was another royal. "I'm a Dual Summoner." I said as Genya stopped and looked in the mirror at me. "What?" Genya asked as she went back but kept watch in the mirror. "I'm a sun summoner and tidemaker." I said
Genya completely stopped as she kneeled before me and bowed her head as if she'd met someone important. I went to reach for her and put a hand on her shoulder as she looked at me. "You are her, General Kirigan has been talking about a girl he will save from the royals. That when she is of age he will present himself as her soulmate." Genya said as I felt very uncomfortable and pouted slightly. I didn't love the General, I didn't know what love was since my adopted parents just gave me whatever I wanted.
My real parents are out there somewhere and they wanted me. They did this for my protection. I thought
Genya went back to work and she finished as she laughed a bit. "You should smile more often, I heard stories of your mother. The infamous tidemaker who would lead and then she retired to get married." Genya said as I looked at her surprised. "Her name was Amara, people talk about her all the time in the Grisha community."
I wanted to meet my parents but that was nearly impossible right now. I started to cry knowing there was no solution to my problem. Genya got in front of me and wiped my tears. "Now, Now you'll meet your parents someday." Genya assured me. "Maybe when you marry the General?"
I just looked at her, soon my birthday arrived and the royals were celebrating for me. I walked out with the dress they gave me as it was a big celebration for my 13th birthday. I noticed some people that I didn't know as I walked around waiting. "Ah, here she is. Amira come here." I noticed some people that I didn't know as I walked around waiting for it to be over. When I bumped into people seeing they looked like me in a way.
"Amira." The woman said as both of them seemed surprised, I didn't say anything. What could I say but then the man talked. "We're sorry Amira, we thought this was best." The man said, that made me realize who these two were, my birth parents. I looked over to see the King was busy and I hugged them trying hard not to cry. "Why?" I asked as they looked at each other. "Fjerdans are tracking down Grisha, we are given a secure location but you had to become part of the royal family for safety." My father said as I realized that was why I was here in the grand palace, why I was kept from the 2nd army. I was part of the agreement "Why didn't you write?" I asked as My mother sighed. "We were told to keep silent until you reached the age of thirteen." My mother said
Amira’s Dress:

I realized this whole thing was set up for me to be kept out of the folds business, if I wasn't part of the 2nd army then I wasn't going to be subjected to be the savior. "The fold can be destroyed with light." I said, "yes, and it would take a lot of power to do." My father said, I nod realizing that was why this all worked out, it wasn't to unite Ravka it was to maintain power. "May I?" Father asked as he noticed the type of necklace I had on and I nod as he lifted it, knowing exactly what was there. "AM" My mother said as my father let it go and he was not happy. "Your only chance of freedom in this agreement, is that man? I don't approve." My father said
I was confused but then General Kirigan came in and of course, I looked with a slight smile. Not supposed to be close or not my father pulled me back as I realized he was the man father did not approve of. "I can't believe we have to put our trust in a shadow summoner." Her father said as I knew he was called the darkling. "How close has he gotten to you?" "He is my horse riding teacher and Baghra trains me on my power." I said, father seemed to be less tense on hearing about Baghra. "She's a good teacher." Father said
He walked over to us, father let me go as I fixed everything but I didn't tell my birth parents he knew the truth. "Amira, you look nice on your special day." I just smiled at him "thank you." I said as he walked away. Father still didn't like the way things were but I needed to get away from the royals sometime. "He won't try anything yet." Father said as I just mingled with everyone. I had to hope for the best when it came time.
Luckily I wasn't forbidden contact with my birth parents after the party, we communicated through letters. I was still being treated with respect and everything was going well. My parents were happy that they treated me well. I told them about Genya and they seemed to like that I had a Grisha friend. Still, time went by and before I knew it the next Winter fete arrived.
I questioned what I was going to wear to this one when my dress arrived, looking at it I was surprised. This was going to be different as I smiled at the color. It was a nice color and looked great for me. I wondered if the General would ask me to dance at this fete but he never seemed interested in dancing.
Tumblr media
Maybe the General isn't interested in simple society things. I thought
I took a deep breath as I headed with them to the Fete, of course, this time I was able to blend in with society. I was able to talk to nobles without a problem but the issue they would bring up about my future husband was not one I wished to talk about. "The King has said that my true Grisha soulmate may claim me first before such talks." I said to them, they were surprised unaware I was Grisha.
"Have you met your Grisha soulmate?" One of the nobles asked, I looked at them surprised by their question. "I have met my Grisha soulmate but he's older than I am so we must wait. I don't even know if he'll come forward" I said as they seemed to not like that answer. Honestly, I knew my birth family didn't like it either.
When I heard footsteps coming, I looked back seeing the General was there. If Nobles had paid attention he was the only one who paid mind to me. He didn't even really pay attention to the other royals or the other Grisha. "That dress compliments you well with your necklace." General Kirigan said as he offered his arm. I took it since he was the only one the king allowed to escort me around. As we walked I decided to approach the subject even though I was only thirteen at the time.
"So, General should we talk about the truth?" I asked as nobles would talk with me as he escorted me around. "What truth is that?" He asked seeming as calm as nothing bothered him. "For starters, your Grisha Soulmate." I said as he stopped and looked at me, I realized that was a bit bold and I almost backed down but he sighed. "You're thirteen, when you're sixteen we'll talk more." He said
For the rest of the night if I asked anything he'd just answer them like normal but when the last dance happened. I wanted to go out and dance but none of the nobles approached so when he offered his hand to dance I couldn't resist. It made the winter fete a bit special to me and as we danced he decided to ask. "You met your parents at your birthday party." I looked up at him surprised. "I did, they told me everything and why I live this life." I said as he sighed. "Well then, I guess you'll just have to have more classes with me so you can come by the little palace. When you're old enough to fit in a kefta we'll make one in case anyone tries to break in the grand palace, keftas are bullet proof." General Kirigan said
Bulletproof keftas? I thought
