Understanding Hazardous Waste and Its Risks
Hazardous waste consists of substances that can cause harm to living organisms or the environment. These materials may be toxic, flammable, corrosive, or reactive. Improper handling or disposal of hazardous waste can lead to severe consequences such as soil contamination, water sources, and air pollution. Understanding the risks associated with hazardous waste underscores the importance of effective management practices.
Role of Drums in Hazardous Waste Management
Drums are widely used for storing and transporting hazardous materials. They provide a convenient and standardized means of containment. However, without proper decontamination, drums can become sources of contamination themselves. Residual chemicals, leaks, or spills can compromise the integrity of the drums, posing risks during storage, transportation, and disposal.
The Purpose of Drum Decontamination
Drum decontamination serves multiple purposes. Firstly, it aims to remove hazardous residues, ensuring that drums are clean and safe for reuse or recycling. Secondly, decontamination processes help sterilize drums to prevent the spread of contaminants. Lastly, decontamination mitigates the potential for cross-contamination, ensuring that different types of hazardous waste do not mix, leading to unforeseen reactions or hazards.
Benefits of Proper Drum Decontamination
Implementing effective drum decontamination practices brings several advantages. Firstly, it ensures the safety of workers handling the drums, reducing the risk of exposure to hazardous substances. Secondly, it protects the environment by preventing contamination of soil, water, and air. This is especially crucial near sensitive ecosystems or groundwater sources. Additionally, proper decontamination enhances regulatory compliance, reducing the likelihood of fines, penalties, or legal repercussions. Lastly, it safeguards the reputation and credibility of the organization, demonstrating a commitment to responsible waste management.
Common Drum Decontamination Methods
Drum decontamination employs various techniques tailored to specific waste materials and regulations. Physical cleaning methods such as pressure washing and scrubbing are commonly used. Chemical decontamination processes involve using solvents or neutralization agents to remove hazardous residues. Thermal treatments, such as steam cleaning or incineration, can also be employed based on the waste characteristics.
Best Practices for Drum Decontamination
To ensure effective drum decontamination, organizations should follow best practices. This includes providing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for workers handling the drums. Adhering to regulatory guidelines and waste management protocols is crucial to maintain compliance. Regular inspection and maintenance of decontamination equipment help identify potential issues and ensure proper functioning. Proper documentation and record-keeping facilitate traceability and auditability.
Conclusion
Drum decontamination is a critical component of hazardous waste management. By prioritizing proper decontamination practices, organizations can protect human health, and the environment, and maintain regulatory compliance. Adopting best practices, and employing effective decontamination methods will contribute to safer waste management and a sustainable future. We at MYNS are a GPCB-approved drum decontamination service provider in Gujarat, get in touch with us to help with your drum decontamination process.

I can't fucking believe this. Pink from 'Among Us' ruined my marriage.
A couple months ago, my wife said she was going out for a ladies' night. She asked me to take care of my son, so I immediately obliged. "Yes Ma'am," I told her. After a while of waiting, she finally left and I could play my favourite game, Among Us. I hopped on my laptop, booted it up and my desktop loaded, complete with the 'Red Sus' background and all my Among Us Impostor fan-art. I was shaking in excitement. I slowly dragged my finger across the track pad, and watched the cursor as it glided over to the Among Us icon. Among Us. My absolute favourite game of all time and quite possibly the best and most well-made game in the entire world. As I clicked the button my body twitched with joy at the thought of being the impostor again. My fingers drummed impatiently on my desk as the Innersloth logo faded in, and then out. Then the main title appeared. I immediately looked at pink as she slowly floated across the screen. Oh, how I wish I could feel those luscious, soft asscheeks. Pink is my queen. The real woman in my life. My wife could never be as sexy as Pink is; her soft footfalls in electrical as I peek at her curvy form from inside a vent, waiting for the right time to strike. I could never get close to Pink, however, as if she had some kind of sixth sense, she would always leave before I could reveal myself to her as the impostor. I press Practice, to warm up my fingers before my first intense game of Among Us. I hit Blue in Comms, then cross the hall and vent to Specimen, murdering Green in cold blood. The thrill of killing an animated character in an online game has never been such a rush. I then move towards Reactor, stabbing Yellow in the back and then running down the corridor to the right to access Decontamination. I move quietly through the halls, like a snake about to strike its prey, and I see- Oh no. It's Pink. Standing there motionlessly as I face her directly. Her visor shows no emotion. But she knows. I can feel it in the air. I can't kill her. She is too beautiful, too angelic, the light reflecting off of her pink bodysuit, like stars on a voided sky. She doesn't run. I am moved to tears as I caress the screen, kissing it tenderly. "Goodbye, Pink. See you soon. It will all be okay," I whisper in a soft, reassuring voice. Then as my cursor hovers over the kill button, I hesitate. Thoughts of love go through my head. Red having reddish-pink sus children with Pink. But I have to. As the impostor, it is my duty to kill. I press the 'Kill' button and watch as my character beheads Pink silently. All I hear is the spurt of blood. There is no rush. There is only Red, standing by himself in Fuel. Pink's lifeless body laying on the floor beside him. I feel nothing at first, then immense sadness, like I'm at a loved one's funeral. My son knocks on the door, interrupting my brief moment of mourning. He asks, "Dad? Are you going to make me a snack?" I tell him to shut up, and my voice cracks. I break down sobbing. I killed her. I killed my one true love. God, forgive me. I open the door to my son, and he has a confused look on his face. I say nothing, and walk to the kitchen to make him a sandwich. Tears roll off my face into the bread as I lay it onto the counter. Lettuce, cheese and meat, followed by a sad swirl of mustard on top. My son is quiet. He sits on the couch, and stares at the floor. There is a depressing air around us. I serve him the sandwich and walk back to my room, contemplating life. If I killed Pink, how am I to be trusted around my family? I cry for hours, and finally my wife comes back. She sees me bawling on the bed like a child who dropped his ice cream. She then asks me why I'm crying and mutter, "I killed her. I killed my only love, Pink, in Among Us." She is filled with rage and slaps me across my face. I feel numb. She asks for a divorce. I don't reply. Instead, I take my laptop and get into my car, driving to a nearby hotel. Fast forward a few months to the divorce. It was quick and painless. After court, I ask my former wife to take me back.
"I can't take you back. You've always been this way. I was sus of you from the start."

Chapter 6 - Time Runs Out
“The basement generators— they run out of fuel.” Jenner replied simply.
“And then?” Rick asked, dejected. Jenner didn’t answer, making for the doorway. “Vi, what happens when the power runs out?”
“When the power runs out, facility-wide decontamination will occur.”
“No thanks. I’m not interested.” Iris stated, glancing around at her companions. “I’m going to find the generators.”
“Let’s go.” Rick agreed. Iris followed a map left on the hallway wall, Rick, Shane, T-Dog and Glenn following down further and deeper underground.
“Decontamination? What does that mean?” Glenn asked worriedly.
“I don’t like the way Jenner clammed up.” Shane grumbled. “The way he just wandered off like that?”
“I had a bad feeling about this place.” Iris muttered.
“What’s wrong with him? Seriously, man, is he nuts? Medicated, what?” T-Dog asked.
“He’s not crazy. He’s just given up.” Iris replied, shoving open a heavy metal door. Shane and Rick held up their flashlights before the motion sensors flicked on the overhead lights. The room was filled with drums of fuel, haphazardly left on carts, likely from when Jenner set them up.
Shane and Rick went to one side while Iris, Glenn and T-Dog went the other direction. Pipes, wires and electrical panels filled the room, large stickers warning that it was all flammable.
“You know what it reminds me of?” Iris muttered, brushing her hand over a wire panel.
“What?” Glenn asked.
“A time bomb.” She replied simply. He and T-Dog exchanged a look as they explored. The lights went out, save for a few small bulbs against the walls.
“Emergency lighting on.”
“What the hell?” Shane’s voice carried. They ran to meet each other, finding Rick and Shane next to a fuel barrel hooked up to the generator.
“It’s preparing to shut down.” Iris grimaced. “Power conservation.”
“Anything?” Rick asked.
“Yeah. A lot of dead generators and more empty fuel drums than I can count.” T-Dog replied.
“Rick, look, I don’t think we should waste any more time. We should get out while we still can.” Iris said quietly, looking between him and Shane. They glanced at one another.
“It can’t be down to just this one.” Shane muttered, shining the light on the empty fuel dial.
“We have 45 minutes.” Iris stated, checking her watch. “Rick—“
“Let’s go.” He agreed. They all raced back upstairs, sprinting down the hallways.
Everyone poked their heads out of their rooms at the sudden shut down and Jenner walked down the hallway, wearing a suit and a lab coat. He gripped a whiskey bottle tightly in his fist. Daryl’s voice carried as he chewed out the doctor, everyone waiting for some sort of explanation. Desperate for him to deny what they were all thinking.
“Rick?” Lori called as they ran into the main room. Jenner walked down the stairs and the group followed.
“Jenner, what’s happening?” Rick pleaded, gesturing for the group to stay put.
“The system is dropping all the nonessential uses of power.” He explained. “It’s designed to keep the computers running until the last possible second. That started as we approached the half-hour mark. Right on schedule.” He took a large swig of whiskey.
“Okay, you all need to grab your things. Pack. We have to go.” Iris whispered, urging them back to the stairs.
“What? What are you talking about?” Carol asked, frowning.
“You heard her. Come on, let’s move.” Shane urged. Jenner turned, offering the whiskey back to Daryl, who snatched it from his hands.
“It was the French.” Jenner mused.
“What?”
“They were the last ones to hold out, as far as I know. While our people were bolting out the doors and committing suicide in the hallways, they stayed in the labs until the end.” He explained. “They thought they were close to a solution.”
“What happened?” Jacqui asked.
“The same thing that’s happening here. No power grid. Ran out of juice. The world runs on fossil fuel. I mean, how stupid is that?” He laughed.
“Let me tell you—“ Shane jumped up, lunging at him.
“To hell with it, Shane. I don’t even care.” Rick snapped. “Lori, grab our things. Everyone, get your stuff. We’re getting out of here, now!” They finally lurched into action, ducking down the hallways in a hurry. Everyone stopped as a loud alarm blared over the speakers.
“What the hell is that?” Iris hissed.
“Thirty minutes to decontamination.”
“Doc, what’s going on here, man?” T-Dog pleaded.
“Everyone! Y’all heard Rick, y’all heard Iris, now you’re hearing me. Get your stuff and let’s go! Go now! Go!” Shane yelled. The door to the room slid shut with a pressurized hiss and Iris drew her knife on the scientist.
“Did you just lock us in? He just locked us in!” Glenn cried.
“Open the fucking door.” She warned, holding the blade to his neck. He shook his head, turning on one of the terminals with a webcam.
“We’ve hit the 30-minute window. I am recording—“
“You son of a bitch! You locked us in here!” Daryl screamed, lunging at him. Shane and T-Dog tore him away.
“Unlock the door. Please.” Iris begged.
“There’s no point. Everything topside is locked down. The emergency exits are sealed.”
“Well, open the damn things!” Daryl snapped.
“That’s not something I control, the computers do.” Jenner shook his head again. “I told you. Once that front door closed, it wouldn’t open again. You heard me say that.”
“You son of a bitch.” Iris muttered, sheathing her knife.
“It’s better this way.” He insisted.
“What is?” Rick asked, tilting his head with a snarl. “What happens in twenty-eight minutes?” Jenner refused to answer, turning back to the computer. “What happens in twenty-eight minutes?”
“You know what this place is?” Jenner cried, standing abruptly. “We protected the public from very nasty stuff! Weaponized smallpox! Ebola strains that could wipe out half the country! Stuff you don’t want getting out! Ever!” He paused, wiping a hand over his face and sitting back down. “In the event of a catastrophic power failure, a terrorist attack, for example, H.I.T.s are deployed to prevent any organisms from getting out.”
“H.I.T.s?” Rick asked.
“Vi, define.”
“H.I.T.s, high-impulse thermobaric fuel-air explosives consist of a two-stage aerosol ignition that produces a blast wave of significantly greater power and duration than any other known explosive except nuclear. The vacuum-pressure effect ignites the oxygen between five thousand and six thousand degrees and is useful when the greatest loss of life and damage to structures is desired.”
“It sets the air on fire.” Jenner stated. “No pain. An end to sorrow, grief, regret, everything.”
“You’ve condemned us.” Iris muttered, shaking her head in disbelief. “You want me to speak in your language, you depressed, philosophical bullshit motherfucker? You’ve condemned us. Obliterated any chance we might have had. Any hope left. Hell won’t suffice for this act of murder. Of damnation.” Jenner huffed a laugh, nodding. Daryl cried out in frustration, chucking the whiskey bottle at the steel barrier.
“Open the damn door!” He yelled.
“Out of my way!” Shane cried, running at the door with an axe intended for emergency escape in the event of a fire. Not this. T-Dog tossed another up at Daryl, the two of them striking the door with brute force. Sparks rained as they pounded against the door. The children were crying into their mother’s chests, huddled against the wall as they waited for the clock to count down. Iris shoved a hand into her pocket, pulling out the tattered patch she kept there, running her fingers over it.
“You should have left well enough alone. It would have been so much easier.” Jenner muttered to himself as he sat at the desk. Dale walked over to him. If anyone could appeal to someone’s better nature, it would be him.
“Easier for who?” Lori asked.
“All of you. You know what’s out there. A short, brutal life and an agonizing death. Your- your sister. What was her name?” Jenner asked Andrea.
“Amy.”
“Amy. You know what this does. You’ve seen it.” He turned to Rick. “Is that really what you want for your wife and son?”
“I don’t want this.” Rick replied emphatically.
“Can’t make a dent.” Shane huffed, tossing the axe to the side. Jenner rolled his eyes.
“Those doors are designed to withstand a rocket launcher.” He stated.
“Well your head ain’t!” Daryl screamed, throwing himself at the doctor with the axe. Dale, Rick and Shane shoved themselves between them, keeping Daryl back. The doctor didn’t even flinch from his seat.
“You do want this.” He told Rick. “Last night you said you knew it was just a matter of time before everybody you loved was dead.” They all stopped, everyone going silent.
“What, you really said that? After all your big talk?” Shane asked, narrowing his eyes at Rick.
“I feel as if we all are not prioritizing, here.” Iris threw her hands up.
“I had to keep hope alive, didn’t I?” Rick defended.
“There is no hope. There never was.” Jenner said pointedly.
“There’s always hope.” Rick snapped. “Maybe it won’t be you, maybe not here, but somebody. Somewhere.”
“What part of 'everything is gone’ do you not understand?” Andrea asked.
“Listen to your friend.” Jenner implored. “She gets it. This is what takes us down. This is our extinction event.”
“Just because you sorry assholes have given up doesn’t give you the right to take that choice away from someone else.” Iris snapped. “From all of us.”
“This isn’t right.” Carol sobbed. “You can’t just keep us here!”
“One, tiny moment.” Jenner shook his head. “A millisecond. No pain.”
“My daughter doesn’t deserve to die like this!” Carol cried.
“Wouldn’t it be kinder? More compassionate to just hold your loved ones and wait for the clock to run down?” Jenner asked. Dale gaped at him. Shane cocked his shotgun, moving toward the doctor.
“Shane, no!”
“Out of the way, Rick!” He aimed the shotgun between Jenner’s eyes. “Open that door. Or I’m gonna blow your head off, do you hear me?”
“Not much of a threat when he’s waiting to die.” Iris muttered, moving to the control panel he punched the numbers into. Some code would unlock the door. All he had to do was tell them the numbers. Shane yelled in frustration, unloading the shotgun into a few terminals and the lights in the ceiling. Everyone ducked while Rick pried the gun from his hands, knocking him to the floor.
“Are you done now? Are you done?”
“Yeah, I guess we all are.” Shane hissed. There was a long silence while everyone listened to the quiet thrumming of the generator.
“I think you’re lying.” Rick accused.
“What?” Jenner asked, narrowing his eyes.
“About no hope. If that were true, you’d have bolted with the rest or taken the easy way out. You didn’t. You chose the hard path, why?”
“It doesn’t matter.”
“It does matter. It always matters. You stayed when others ran. Why?”
“Not because I wanted to.” Jenner said firmly. “I made a promise to her. My wife.” He said, pointing to the screen.
“Test Subject 19 was your wife?” Lori asked, mouth opening in shock. Daryl walked back to the door and started hitting it with the axe again. The loud thuds echoing through the room ominously.
“She begged me to keep going as long as I could. How could I say no?” He continued. “She was dying. It should have been me on that table. I wouldn’t have mattered to anybody. She was a loss to the world. Hell, she ran this place. I just worked here. In our field, she was an Einstein. Me, I’m just… Edwin Jenner. She could have done something about this. Not me.”
“Your wife didn’t have a choice.” Rick said slowly. “You do. That’s… that’s all we want. A choice. A chance.”
“Let us keep trying as long as we can.” Lori pleaded, clutching Carl close. Jenner sighed.
“I told you, topside’s locked down. I can’t open those.” He walked over to the keypad, meeting Iris’ gaze as he typed the code in, scanning his card. The steel blast door slid open and Daryl dropped the axe.
“Come on!” He yelled. Four minutes and thirty seconds.
“Let’s go! Come on, let’s go!” Glenn yelled.
“Move it! Move it!”
“There’s your chance. Take it.” Jenner said.
“I’m grateful.” Rick replied.
“The day will come when you won’t be.” He looked at Rick sympathetically, with pity, but Iris felt nothing but disdain for the man. She brushed past him as she sprinted for the door.
“Let’s go. Let’s go, Jacqui.” T-Dog ushered her toward to door.
“No, I’m staying. I’m staying, sweetie.”
“That’s insane!”
“No, it’s completely sane. For the first time in a long time. I’m not ending up like Jim and Amy. There’s no time to argue. And no point, not if you want to get out. Just get out. Get out.” She pleaded, putting her hands on either side of his face.
“I’m staying too.” Andrea said solemnly.
“Andrea, no!” Dale called. She turned away, sitting down and waiting. “Just go, go!” He stayed behind in hopes of convincing her, but Iris was unsure. Dale would be a loss to the group, but since Amy, Andrea didn’t seem like she had much left.
Iris kept her grip on her emotions as they ran up the stairwell. She had everything important on her person as they threw themselves into the doors. Daryl and Shane attacked the windows with the axes. T-Dog grabbed a chair. Shane even tried the shotgun, but the glass held.
“Rick, I have something that might help.” Carol called, fishing in her purse.
“Carol, I don’t think a nail file’s gonna do it.” Shane grumbled.
“Your first morning at camp, when I washed your uniform, I found this in your pocket.” She explained. She pulled out a hand grenade and Iris’ eyes went wide.
“Holy shit.” She muttered.
“Look out!” T-Dog yelled as Rick grabbed the grenade. They all took cover as he pulled the pin, released the trigger and ran. It exploded, the single pane of glass shattering with the impact.
They all ducked out of the window, sprinting across the courtyard toward the caravan of vehicles. Everything was still there, including the walkers littering the lawn. They didn’t bother with the noise, using their guns to take care of any in their way. Iris practically dove into the truck beside Daryl as he chucked the axe into the back. They turned forward only to see Andrea and Dale running out of the building at the last moment.
There was a breath of silence before the explosion wracked their bodies. Daryl and Iris ducked below the dashboard. It was the loudest thing Iris had ever heard, the wave of head blowing outward across the courtyard, the roads. The building crumpled like paper, the entire thing falling inward on itself and deep underground. There was rubble and debris of course, and fire. But nothing was left. Daryl blew out a breath as the flames loomed ahead of them, the air burning just like Jenner explained.
Iris huffed, panting as she leaned her forehead on the dashboard. Daryl shook his head as he put the truck into gear and followed the RV, the van, the Jeep and Carol’s station wagon down the road.

ST:TOS 103 - Where No Man Has Gone Before
Tumblr media
Yes, we did skip an episode. No, we will not be reviewing Charlie X. While we found both Charlie and Mitchell creepy, Charlie’s age and his ability to control people made both of us too uncomfortable to enjoy even watching the episode.
Tumblr media
We open the episode with Spock and Kirk wearing ugly sweaters and Spock without his eyeshadow. Though, Nimoy’s makeup almost matches his sweater. This scene also brings us another bit of Early Episode Weirdness in that Spock claims that one of his ancestors married a human female. He neglects to mention that said ancestor was his father and the woman was his mother. I’m thinking that they didn’t have Spock’s full backstory fleshed out when they started filming. At least his eyebrows are closer to being in check. Yes, I’m endlessly amused by this.
I can only assume that Spock and Kirk are currently still on duty in uniform, because we do see people out of uniform in the back. I can’t remember, do we ever see the main crew out of uniform on the ship? (Daughter’s note: Why don’t they have badges if they’re in uniform? Did they fall off without them noticing?)
I know it’s nitpicky, but they don’t have any sort of quarantine procedure for things they beam onboard? I’m pretty sure they address this in Strange New Worlds, IIRC, and possibly in some of the other Star Trek series, but it really does seem like a major oversight. No decontamination or anything. It’s really surprising there weren’t more outbreaks of strange viruses or radiation sickness on starships.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As much as I love the touch screens of the later shows, there is something I just adore about all the toggles, switches, and physical buttons of the old Trek. One thing I never loved? When a superior would come over and hover as if he actually knew what you were doing and was making sure you were doing it right. I refuse to believe Kirk could actually operate the transporter controls unless they had been pre-prepared for him and he only needed to touch one button.
I know it’s kind of hard to tell because he’s wearing the wrong color shirt, but there’s our first Scotty sighting! Now just to figure out the first time he and Uhura are in a scene together. And you thought your pairs were rare. Also, the disaster recorder (which I keep mistakenly calling a probe) looks like some sort of filter drum from an industrial AC unit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When they talked about its tapes being intact, my daughter got a big laugh. I told her that “In the future, we’ll like things retro.” Retro apparently also means downgrading back to the previous big screen TV/view screen. Side note: there is no need to have someone hovering over the captain’s shoulder like that. At one point he even directs her to stand in a different place. What was even the point of this character?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At this point I become very confused. Where exactly are they heading? They can’t be following a signal, because the signal is coming from the recorder. Just, they randomly start heading somewhere and run into what is probably the same strange field.
Now, we have two other new characters, and you can tell the woman (Elizabeth Dehner) will be sexually repressed because she’s wearing pants. This is confirmed when Mitchell inappropriately tries to flirt with her, and she basically rejects him. He then calls her a walking freezer unit and my daughter and I decide he needs to die painfully. Side note: there is no real point to her character. She doesn’t even get any real part to play until very near the end, and it was not all that necessary.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know it was the 60s, and it’s possible that those kind of things were taken more seriously, but the way they talk about ESP and things like that as if they’re Very Scientific™ just makes me giggle.
Another issue I have with this episode is that they took the ship out of the galaxy instead of sending some sort of probe to gather information. Apparently, Starfleet and/or The Enterprise are run by Kerbals.
Given that both actors who had to wear the contacts kept their heads tilted back and seemed to be looking down toward what they were trying to see, I wonder if that’s the only way they could actually see out of them. I can’t imagine they were terribly comfortable.
Tumblr media
Later on we get needless and uncomfortable interactions between Mitchell and Dehner, Mitchell being creepy and ominous, and Spock jumping right to “Kill him, Jim.” Of course, then we get undeniable proof that Mitchell and Kirk could never have really been friends:
Tumblr media
He couldn’t even get Kirk’s middle initial right. Or, you know, they hadn’t actually worked on Kirk’s full bio at this point.
In the fight scene, the first where we get a ripped Kirk shirt, we never actually see what rips the shirt. We have Shatner’s body double do a flying tackle and then, when we cut to Shatner getting up (please forgive the blurriness):
Tumblr media
It ends with Mitchell being buried in a grave (that I don’t think could have held him) and Dehner dying from… Emperor Palpatine style lightning bolt fingers. Kirk records that they both died in the line of duty. I choose to believe both bodies were left there, and they recovered. They learned to get along and remade the planet to be very hospitable… or they moved to a one far away. They’re gods, they can do that shit.
End of episode tallies (details by daughter)
Unprofessional Behavior: 01 (Mitchell, who was still himself at the time, harasses Dehner. After the zapping, however, I consider him under the influence and as such, none of his interactions with Kirk afterward count.) Total: 05
Starfleet Are Cheapskates: 01 (Kirk’s shirt got ripped and we don’t know why. RIP.) Total: 02
Reasons Why Enterprise Needs a Counselor: 01 (Kirk had to kill his friend.) Total: 02
Early Episode Weirdness: 04 (Spock? Why are you wearing yellow? And downplaying your human heritage? And you too, Scotty. Minus the human heritage. Spock also suggests killing Mitchell sooner than he probably would have later on.) Total: 05
In The Future, We Like It Retro: 01 (Tapes. They use tapes.) Total: 02

I was sus of you from the start."
im literally divorcing you

Chapter 18 - Reeling
Missed a chapter? Catch up here!!
Vigil was waiting on the front steps of Sasha, Sweettalk, and Ghostrunner's flat when they returned home. The three were chattering excitedly, and were excited to see her sitting there.
“Vigil!!” Sweettalk yelled, pointing out of the chasm at the station, now resting on the glass, “did you see? We did it!”
“I saw!” Vigil said, caught in an enthusiastic bear hug by Sweettalk, still on an adrenaline high from her performance. “So that's where you guys used to live?”
Sweettalk pointed at the ground. “No, this is where I used to live, and I can't get out of here fast enough. That's our home.”
“It's not safe to go in just yet,” Sasha explained. “I've got the decontamination systems online and they're hard at work getting the whole place de-corpsed. Unfortunately, my systems are a little too good at their job, and until they're done their sweep, any biomass they encounter, living or dead, will be converted to energy to power our video game consoles.”
“But soon as it's ready, we're right back in our old quarters,” Sweettalk said, and was struck with a thought. “We're gonna be doing a movie night tonight with Ghostrunner. You should come!”
Vigil was suddenly nervous and more than a little excited. “I think I'd like that.”
“Come on,” Ghostrunner said, holding out her hand, “these guys have a lot of packing to do. Let me tell you all about the mission!”
Vigil took Ghostrunner's hand through the worn, oversized black hoodie to protect her from the chill of the Xiagu air. She led her through the park, directly to their quartz formation, all the while regaling her with the story of how they valiantly stormed the station and took it back. She sat at the tip, arm around Vigil's shoulder, looking out at the retrieved space station.
“You should've seen Sweettalk,” Ghostrunner said, “sixty-seven drums in her kit, and she's just spinning around beating the hell out of all of them. It's like… watching a hummingbird wreck a porcelain shop.”
Vigil laughed, “I didn't even know she played the drums.”
“When we were kids, she always had rhythm. Ariadne noticed,” Ghostrunner said. “Next day, there was a drum kit in the lounge. Called up her sister-in-law and invited her to stay on the station for a two-month vacation just so her wife could teach Sweettalk to play.”
Vigil thought back to what the Triplets told her once again, about how Ariadne helps everyone on her crew find and become their best self.
“That's probably why Sweettalk plays like a lunatic,” Ghostrunner quipped. “Baltimore, man, I swear that woman has five arms when she's drumming.”
“Baltimore is… Alicia's sister?” Vigil asked for confirmation, as she was still having a bit of trouble keeping everybody's names straight.
“Now that just sounds wrong,” Ghostrunner laughed. “Alicia is Baltimore's sister.”
She gave Vigil a gentle squeeze and sighed. They sat and enjoyed the silence for a few moments before either of them broke it.
“Was it dangerous?” Vigil asked.
“No, 'course not,” Ghostrunner replied, “Ariadne planned out every detail. Me and Spacebreather just followed her instructions to the letter. Easy as pie.”
“They were heavily armed, though” Vigil said, “you weren't afraid they'd shoot you? Or that Spacebreather's armor wouldn't hold? Or that she wouldn't be overpowered? Or–”
“They can't shoot what they never see,” Ghostrunner said. “Ariadne would never build Spacebreather armor that wasn't safe, and Spacebreather would never lose a fight when Ariadne's counting on her to win it.”
“So you guys just… don't even consider the possibility that you might fail?” Vigil asked, “that you might not be good enough?”
“Sure we do,” Ghostrunner said. “That's basically all Ariadne does. It's how we survive. It's why she builds her wife armor designed to withstand a blast from an atomic bomb.”
“She doesn't show it,” Vigil said. “She seems so fearless.”
“You only get to be fearless by being afraid. People who are fearless without being afraid tend to end up dead.” Ghostrunner explained. “Ariadne's smart enough to know what might go wrong in any situation. She's dedicated her life to conquering her fears by finding solutions. But she fears everything, so just to be safe, she conquers everything. That's how she taught us. The fact that I'm afraid of being shot is exactly why I'm able to avoid those men with guns. Sweettalk fears losing control of her life, so she conquered that fear and learned to take control of any situation. Sasha's afraid someone's going to kill her sister, so she…”
“…conquered death?” Vigil asked.
“Sounds weird to say it out loud, but,” Ghostrunner began, “kind of, yeah!”
“I met with these girls, while you were gone,” Vigil said, “sisters, I think.”
“The triplets,” Ghostrunner said, “I actually helped recruit them, you know.”
“They told me that Ariadne turns everyone she meets into their truest self,” she said. “That when she takes you in, she… magnifies you to your fullest potential.”
“Yeah,” Ghostrunner said, “that's about the long and short of it.”
“How does she know who to take in?” Vigil asked. “I mean, this 'Nameless' was on her crew, and to hear people tell it, she took advantage of Ariadne's gifts and used them to hurt people. To hurt you.”
“Yeah, she did,” Ghostrunner said, tensing up a little bit, “but you want to know the big secret? She's one person. Ariadne and Spacebreather have been doing this for twelve years. Their methods of education and self-actualization have worked thousands of times, and failed exactly once. Turns out, if you take all comers and do things right, you'll almost always get good results, and the times you don't will just be beyond your control.”
“What if she's wrong to let me get close?” Vigil asked. “What if I end up hurting… people?”
Ghostrunner pulled Vigil in close, and Vigil once more rested her head on Ghostrunner's collarbone.
“You're afraid of letting anyone get close to you, because you don't want to hurt… people.” Ghostrunner said, putting emphasis on the word so that Vigil knew she understood what they were dancing around. “Conquer that fear.”
“How?” Vigil asked, looking up at Ghostrunner.
Ghostrunner chuckled. “Easy. Let people get close to you, and then don't hurt them.”
“I've spent my whole life trying not to be noticed,” Vigil said, “opening up like that doesn't exactly come naturally to me.”
“Word of advice?” Ghostrunner said. “People respond to honesty. Be direct with people and closeness will come naturally.”
Vigil looked up at Ghostrunner. She was radiant bathed in the honey-golden glow of Saturn, the light catching her piercings and reflected in those deep brown, glimmering eyes. They were usually so sad, but not today.
“You're…” Vigil began, and hesitated.
“It's okay,” Ghostrunner said softly, running a finger along Vigil's jawline, “go ahead.”
“You're the first person who ever really saw me,” Vigil said, “and that scared the hell out of me.”
“You were afraid,” Ghostrunner said, “and you went chasing after the thing you were afraid of? And you still don't know what Ariadne saw in you?”
Vigil laughed. “I was more afraid of what you'd see in me.”
“Full disclosure?” Ghostrunner replied, “At first I was afraid of you, too. I'm also not used to being noticed.”
“How can that be?” Vigil asked, “I mean, look at you! You're…”
“Distinctive?” Ghostrunner asked playfully. “I mean, you're one to talk!”
“…gorgeous.” Vigil said.
Ghostrunner smiled that killer smile.
“Still,” Ghostrunner replied, “you're one to talk. But I was only afraid of you when you were watching from a distance. When you actually put yourself out there, took a risk, and showed me you cared… That you were the sort of girl who'd see a complete stranger trying to find her sister, and take it upon yourself to help her? I realized I wanted to get to know that girl. And that is what I saw in you.”
Vigil had never been more flattered, or more nervous.
“And how about you?” Ghostrunner asked. “What do you see in me?”
“I see…” Vigil said, “I see a girl who's willing to show kindness and compassion to a stranger, even when that stranger has been… a little bit of a creep.”
Ghostrunner laughed again. “My name is Ghostrunner, I can't exactly take the high ground on being a bit of a creep.”
“I'm serious, though,” Vigil explained. “All that stuff everybody says about Ariadne, how she takes in people in need and makes them want to be better… all I could think about is how that's what you've done for me. You're a lot like her, you know.”
Ghostrunner smiled. “Yeah, I suppose she raised me right.”
“How could I not want to get close to you?” Vigil asked. “You're clever, and you're cool, and you're beautiful, and you make me feel so… at home. All those years on the street I was looking for somewhere I could feel like I belonged, where I could be safe, and now I've found that… here, on this rock, with you, and I… don't want to let go.”
Ghostrunner put two fingers on Vigil's chin and tipped her face upwards.
“Then don't,” she said.
Vigil pulled herself up, gripped Ghostrunner by the shoulders, and pressed her face to Ghostrunner's. Ghostrunner closed her eyes, embraced her, and gently kissed the chrome surface of Vigil's face. Vigil's hands found themselves on Ghostrunner's ribcage once more, and this time she didn't pull back. Ghostrunner was so warm, and soft, and gentle, and Vigil had never been as happy as she was in that moment.
After what seemed like an eternity, but was not nearly long enough, Vigil pulled away. “Don't you… need to go pack your things? Won't Sasha and Sweettalk be waiting for you?”
Ghostrunner smiled. “We've got time,” she said, “and Sasha and Sweettalk will understand. I'm exactly where I want to be right now. I'm spending time with my girlfriend.”
“Your–”
“Yeah, I think so,” Ghostrunner smiled. She climbed on top of Vigil, pushing her down until she was pressed to the quartz, and kissed her again. Vigil looked out the mouth of the chasm at her new home, silhouetted against those magnificent rings, and felt her heart overflow as she felt Ghostrunner's fingers grip the back of her neck and her lips press against the front of it.
She was, finally, home.
***
“Beloved. My dear. My love.” Sweettalk said to Sasha, transfixed on the hologram projection of Spacebreather's helmet cam. “Sasha.”
“Huh? What?” Sasha snapped back to reality.
“I've got all my stuff packed up,” Sweettalk replied. “One of the benefits of not having brought much with us from the station.”
“We're lucky there were so many supplies here in Xiagu,” Sasha said. “I'm glad we can get out of here soon. I can't imagine what kind of hell this has been for you.”
“I thought it would be,” Sweettalk said, “but oddly, it's actually been kind of therapeutic. Ever since I was little, I've thought of my home as lost to me forever. I knew that even if I did come back, all I'd find was the fossil of my home. That view, Saturn hanging in the sky, like I used to stare at when I was a girl… I didn't think I'd ever see it again. But the other day, I was walking in the park and I saw some of the younger girls on the gravball court, playing a pickup game. Stopped by the Hotpot Spot, my favorite restaurant when I was a kid, and it turns out one of Cookie's apprentices had set up shop, even found Ms. Fan's old recipe book. Our little crew breathed life back into my childhood home. It's not the same people, and it's not the same town it once was, but hey, I'm not the same person I was when I lived here last. And now, whenever I want, I can come back to this little flat and stare at Saturn as I fall asleep, like I did when I was a girl, except now, I'm not thinking of all the adventures I wish I could have. I'm remembering all the adventures I've been lucky enough to have already. Almost makes me think some good came of Prescott stealing me away.”
“Of course it did,” Sasha said, “otherwise you would've died! Obviously I'm a fan of you living long enough to meet me.”
“So just to be clear,” Sweettalk said, “you agree with the logic that someone should be glad that the woman they love is alive, even if it means they had to go through something horrible?”
“You're clearly ramping up to something,” Sasha said, scrubbing through the footage of Pilar's rampage to the point where she slammed the rocket into the ground. “Care to loop me in?”
“You're obsessing over that video,” Sweettalk said. “I know Ghostrunner told you to let me help you with this stuff. Tell me what's going on with you.”
“She wasn't supposed to tell you about that, Sasha said flatly, without breaking eye contact with the video.
“She didn't tell me about it,” Sweettalk said, “she's my best friend and you're my girlfriend. I know you well enough to know when you're going through something you're trying to protect me from, I know her well enough to know she'd coax it out of you and respect your privacy too much to rat you out, and she knows me too well to forget to tell you I'd want to help.”
Sasha sighed.
“Face it babe,” Sweettalk boasted, “I'm too smart to lie to, so you might as well tell me.”
On the video, the rocket exploded and took a group of mercs with it.
“I killed a man, years ago, and it still haunts me,” Sasha said. “A few hours ago, my sister killed fifty men. What must that do to her?”
“Jane is barely in the ground,” Sweettalk explained, “and it has all of us thinking about death, and the profound effect it's had on all of us. But nobody, and I mean nobody, understands it the way Pilar does. You know what she's like when it comes to the people she cares about, and honestly, these guys drove us out of our home based on a tip from Jane's murderer. That's why I feel nothing about the two men I killed to take our home back.”
“I'm not talking about the morality of it,” Sasha said. “I know she did the right thing… but trust me, I know, that doesn't make it any easier.”
“You're putting these concerns on Pilar because it's easier than saying what you really mean, and I think you know that,” Sweettalk said. “You've been having nightmares about the man you killed for years, Sasha… and on some level, you're finding a way to beat yourself up for your sister's performance too.”
“So Ghostrunner did tell you about the nightmares, then” Sasha said.
“She didn't need to,” Sweettalk said. “My love, I know you as well as I know myself. I knew about the nightmares when you first told me what you did, and I knew about them every time you woke up early to wash the tears off your face.”
Sasha's eyes welled up. “Why didn't you say anything?”
“You were waking up early to wash tears off your face,” Sweettalk said. “You didn't want me to know. I love you so much that I couldn't hurt you like that, when I knew how much you needed to believe I didn't know.”
“You know me too well,” Sasha said. “So what's changed now?”
“You let me see you obsessing over this footage,” Sweettalk explained. “I know you, babe. The only reason you'd ever let me see you like this is if you really needed me.”
“I… really do, Zee.” Sasha started to cry uninhibited. “How do I stop feeling like… like a murderer? How do I stop feeling like I'm letting my sister tear her soul apart just so I don't have to get my hands dirty?”
“Play the footage,” Sweettalk said. “Right now. Play it.”
Sasha didn't know where Sweettalk was going with this, but complied nonetheless.
“Right there,” Sweettalk said, freezing on the image of Spacebreather beating two men to death using two other men as blunt weapons. “Those four guys. You know what they're trying to do? They're people who are trying to stop your sister from protecting her home and her family.”
“Yeah,” Sasha agreed.
“They have machine guns, and body armor, and no qualms about using lethal force. See how good a job they did stopping your sister?” Sweettalk asked. “What makes you think you'd be able to do a better job?”
“But—”
“Do you think Ariadne is a bad person for letting her wife do this? For helping her? Do you think Spacebreather is a bad person for killing these guys?”
“Of course not,” Sasha said, almost hurt at the very thought. “They're my heroes, you know that.”
“Do you think I'm a bad person for shooting down those two Rizzo fighters?” Sweettalk asked.
“No!” Tears blurred Sasha's vision. “You're the best person I've ever known. It's just—”
“So why are you beating yourself up for doing the same thing that makes you think they're heroes?” Sweettalk asked. “The same thing the person you love most in the universe did, twice?”
“We can't all have your self-esteem, Zee. I know my sister has… problems with how she thinks of herself.” Sasha explained. “She thinks of herself as a monster for the lives she's taken.”
“Yeah, no shit!” Sweettalk said. “And I'd bet you any amount of money that sometime tonight, Ariadne is gonna be asking her 'Sasha killed to protect you, does that make HER a monster?' and she's gonna be just as frustrated with Ariadne as you are with me! You Aguilar women are cut from the same cloth.”
Sasha sighed. “I don't know how she's strong enough to carry all those lives on her conscience,” Sasha said. “She shouldn't have to! She didn't do anything wrong! But I know it's killing her, because it's been tearing me up for years. She's sacrificing so much just for me and I don't know if I'm ever going to be… I mean… how can I be worth what she's going through?”
“If you saw someone attacking me, would you kill them?” Sweettalk asked. “Knowing how it feels. Knowing how bad it'll hurt you.”
“Of course I would,” Sasha said. “No matter how bad it might hurt, a life without you would hurt worse.”
“I feel the same way,” Sweettalk said. “My love, it's no trade at all. You have to understand that we love you as much as you love us. I would kill in a heartbeat to save you. I would die to save you, and I'd still think the world came out ahead because you're the one who got to stay.”
“I love you too,” Sasha said.
“I don't know how to make you stop hurting,” Sweettalk said, “but I know that I love Spacebreather too, and I'm glad someone else loves her enough to choose a lifetime of guilt and pain over a clean conscience in a world without her. I know that you're my hero for saving her, especially knowing what it cost you.”
Sweettalk reached up and wiped the tears from Sasha's eyes. “You always know what I need to hear,” she said.
“It's kind of my whole thing!” Sweettalk said, “It's in my name! And your whole thing is caring about your sister so much that you'll defy death itself just to keep her around. You got your name from bringing her back from the dead, Deathsbane. And your sister… well, her whole thing is that she survives things that should've killed her, because she has someone who loves her so much that she won't let her die.”
Sasha was silent for several moments. “Jane is the first crew member I couldn't save,” Sasha confessed. “I didn't give the away teams prophylactic doses of my serum in case of emergency, and she was already dead for too long for my serum to revive her. How can I ever move past that?”
“We sent her on a mission with her sister. We're operating without your regular facilities. You know what we've got planned. We're gonna need every ounce of our stockpile if we're gonna pull this off. It would've been irresponsible of you to throw away a dose on the extreme off-chance her sister snapped and killed her.”
“I still… I've made keeping this crew safe my whole identity. My whole life. If I can't do that, who am I?” Sasha asked. “What is the point of me?”
“You're still the person who keeps this crew safe,” Sweettalk explained. “What you aren't, is God. Nor are you expected to try and be God. You don't need to be perfect, and Jane's death is not because you weren't a good enough doctor.”
“I lost a patient. Pilar never loses a fight. Ariadne never gets outsmarted. You never lose an argument. Ghostrunner never gets spotted.” Sasha said. “How come I'm the only one who has to accept that she isn't perfect?”
“Pilar got shot, remember?” Sweettalk pointed out. “Ariadne lost the station. I got hoodwinked into running street scams by an idiot. Ghostrunner had somebody following her from planet to planet. And every single one of us lost Jane. You think we don't have to deal with failure because you love us more than you love yourself.”
“How do you forgive yourself?” Sasha asked.
“How do you forgive me?” Sweettalk asked right back.
“That's different, I've never needed to.”
“I remember that,” Sweettalk said, “and that's how I forgive myself. Give it a try sometime. Think of yourself the way I think of you. Think of your failures the way you think of mine.”
Sasha sniffed. “You know I love you, right?”
“Of course I do,” Sweettalk said, “you've got great taste!”
Sasha laughed, and resolved that one of these days, she was going to marry this girl.
“There's my girl,” Sweettalk said. “I don't want to find out you've been trying to handle this alone again. Next time you need me, I'm counting on you to wake me up, no matter how hard I might fight you on it!”
“I won't let you down,” Sasha said. “You know, there's something my sister always says: if you think you're smart, the woman you love is smarter.”
“Your sister knows what she's talking about,” Sweettalk said, “and I think I'm very smart.”
***
“It's good to be home, isn't it?” Ariadne asked. “Been a while since we've been back.”
“You don't know the half of it,” Pilar said, “I have missed this shower.”
The shower in their personal master bathroom still delivered the same perfect balance of temperature and pressure that it always used to. Ariadne had spent hours lovingly calibrating it to exactly Pilar's preferences. It had so many automated nozzles and dispensers that Pilar hardly had to move, and all the sweat and grime from her rampage would be affectionately scrubbed from her skin. She'd let her hair down and it ran over her face, and she just stood there for a minute, just taking in the rush of water from all directions.
Ariadne had finished her ablutions for the evening, and simply leaned on the edge of the double sink to watch and chat with her.
“And you're really feeling okay?” Ariadne asked.
“I feel fan-fucking-tastic,” Pilar smiled. She wasn't being sarcastic in the slightest. “We really did it. It seemed so far out of reach, and as soon as you got an ounce of an edge, you just took complete control of the situation, and now we're… back.”
“You know what I mean,” Ariadne said. “Historically, you've been pretty hard on yourself after you've had to take lives. That's why those tally marks are the only tattoos on your body I didn't give you.”
“Fifty souls on my hands,” Pilar said. “A few years ago, I would've spent months wallowing from all that death.”
“That's why I'm asking,” Ariadne said. “I hate to see you beat yourself up, especially when I'm the one who sent you to do it.”
Pilar chuckled, and began to sing an old folk song that her father used to sing. “O I am Death, none can excel, I open the doors of heaven and hell,” she sang, and it sent a chill through Ariadne's body. “Damn, I missed these acoustics.”
“Querida?”
“I feel great, Ari, really,” Pilar reassured her. “I've made my peace with who I am, what I do, and why I do it.”
Pilar ran her hand over the tally marks on her arm, and looked down at the leg where she'd be placing ten new sets soon.
“These tally marks used to be my greatest shame. But Sasha helped me understand they should be badges of honor,” Pilar said fondly. “See, I know how heavy killing weighs on your conscience. I know I can shoulder that weight, and after all these years, I finally know how to set it down. Every tally mark represents a time I saved a life. Someone I love who's alive today because I did something difficult. A time I spared someone I love from having to go through that pain and guilt. And today, I won hundreds of kids their homes back. I've never felt better.”
Ariadne smiled. “You know, I said all that shit to you when I was 16.”
“You knew I was stubborn when you married me. Took you seven years to notice you had a daughter, took me twelve years to hear you when you say I'm not a monster.” Pilar laughed. “I mean, you love me and you're the smartest girl in the universe. Isn't it about time I started giving your opinion some weight?”
“So you'll let me record these tally marks?” Ariadne asked, “Sterile implements, proper ink, local anesthetic? No more of this prison yard stick-and-poke nonsense?”
Pilar inhaled deeply and began singing once more. “Yes I have come to claim your soul, to leave your body dead and cold,” she sang. “Whatever you like, querida. But the best tattoo on my body is still some of that prison yard stick-and-poke nonsense.”
Pilar turned to face Ariadne and gestured at the center of her chest, where a capital letter A was scrawled in the unsteady handwriting of a preteen working with a safety pin and a broken gel pen. Ariadne had put it there at Pilar's request just after she'd given her the name Ariadne to begin with.
“I can't believe it's lasted this long,” Ariadne said, “I gave that to you when I was eleven years old, I had no idea what I was doing.”
“I'm not impressed by wealth or fame,” Pilar bellowed, her deep, rich alto echoing, “My hand won't be swayed by the weight of your name.”
Pilar switched the shower off and let the sonic pulse array dry her off. She walked over to Ariadne and planted a kiss right on her lips.
“You should be proud of yourself too, what you accomplished today,” Pilar said.
“You did all the heavy lifting,” Ariadne said, “I just had the idea, you actually got it done.”
“When you admire a statue, do you credit the sculptor's mind for imagining something so beautiful, or her hands for rendering it in clay,” Pilar said. “Or do you simply admire the artist and what she's created?”
“How did I get so lucky,” Ariadne asked, “to meet the perfect woman so early in life, and to have her love me as much as I love her?”
Pilar smiled. “Luck had nothing to do with it, we're just that skilled.”

In modern agricultural production, organic fertilizer has been paid attention to because of its ability to improve soil structure and soil fertility. The Organic Fertilizer Production Line is a key link in achieving this goal, and the Compost Crusher is an integral part of the line. This article will introduce the process flow and importance of Compost Crusher in Organic Fertilizer Production Line in detail.
Tumblr media
1. Preliminary treatment of Organic Fertilizer Production Line
The first step in the Organic Fertilizer Production Line is the initial treatment of the raw material. This typically includes the collection and sorting of organic waste such as livestock manure, crop stalks, and food industry by-products. After initial screening and decontamination, these materials are transferred to Compost Crusher for further processing.
Tumblr media
2. Function of Compost Crusher
Compost Crusher is specially designed for the treatment of organic materials with high water content. It pulverizes the material into smaller particles through a high-speed rotating blade to increase the surface area of the material, thereby improving the efficiency of subsequent fermentation and granulation processes. Compost Crusher is characterized by its ability to adapt to different material humidity without the need for additional drying of the material.
3. Material treatment after crushing
After the Compost Crusher, the material is usually sent to a fertilizer Mixer (such as the Double Shafts Paddles Mixer) for mixing and mixing. This step is to ensure the uniformity of the material and to lay a good foundation for the subsequent fermentation and granulation process.
4. Fermentation and granulation
The well-mixed material then enters the fermentation stage, where it is converted into a stable organic fertilizer. The fermented material enters the Fertilizer Granulating Production Line and is fed through a Granulator, such as Rotary Drum Granulator, to form a granular fertilizer. This process not only improves the physical properties of the fertilizer, but also facilitates storage and application.
5. Drying and cooling
Finally, the newly made granular fertilizer is dried by a Rotary Dryer Machine to reduce the moisture content and prevent fertilizer clumping and mildew. The dried fertilizer particles will be cooled into the Rotary Cooler Machine to ensure the stability of the fertilizer and facilitate subsequent packaging and transportation.
To sum up, Compost Crusher plays a vital role in the Organic Fertilizer Production Line. It not only improves the production efficiency, but also ensures the quality and effect of organic fertilizer. By understanding the process flow of Compost Crusher, we can better understand every link in the organic fertilizer production process, thus providing more efficient and environmentally friendly fertilizers for agricultural production.

In modern agricultural production, the conversion of chicken manure into organic fertilizer is an important work that is both environmentally friendly and economical. This not only reduces environmental pollution, but also provides valuable nutrients for farmland. This paper will introduce in detail the seven key steps of chicken manure treatment into organic fertilizer, as well as the key words involved in the equipment.
Step 1: Raw material collection and pretreatment
First, we need to collect fresh chicken manure and conduct preliminary screening and decontamination. This step ensures the smooth progress of the subsequent treatment process and also lays the foundation for improving the quality of the fertilizer.
Step 2: Compost and turn the pile
Next, pile the pre-treated chicken manure into strips and use the Windrow Compost Turning Machine to turn the piles. This process increases oxygen and speeds up the breakdown of organic matter while reducing undesirable odors.
Step 3: Crushing treatment
The chicken manure that has been turned over needs to be crushed to facilitate subsequent mixing and granulation. The Compost Crusher is used here.It can crush the material to the appropriate particle size.
Tumblr media
Step 4: Mix and stir
The crushed material will be mixed with other organic or inorganic additives to ensure the nutrient balance of the fertilizer. A Horizontal Ribbon Mixer or a Double Shafts Paddles Mixer are commonly used in this process to ensure that the material is mixed evenly.
Tumblr media
Step 5: Granulation molding
The evenly mixed material will enter the granulation stage. The Flat-Die Pellet Machine or Rotary Drum Granulator in the Organic Fertilizer Production Line can granulate the material for subsequent drying and packaging.
Tumblr media
Step 6: Drying and cooling
Freshly granulated fertilizer usually contains high moisture and needs to be dried by Rotary Dryer Machine and then cooled to room temperature in Rotary Cooler Machine to ensure the stability of fertilizer and easy storage.
Step 7: Screening and packaging
Finally, the dried and cooled fertilizer particles are screened by Rotary Screening Machine, unqualified particles are removed, and packaged according to specifications, and finally formed into commercial organic fertilizers sold on the market.
Tumblr media
Through these seven steps, chicken manure is transformed into an efficient organic fertilizer that provides important nutrient support for agricultural production. This process not only reflects the advanced concept of agricultural waste resources, but also shows the important role of modern agricultural equipment in agricultural production.

Biohazards in Business What to Know
Tumblr media
Ever wondered what the definition of a biohazard is? Many people think of a glowing drum of green ooze that is humming, much like the kind you would see coming out of the nuclear powerplant in the Simpsons. However, that is toxic or nuclear waste and biohazardous material can be as innocuous as saliva. So, whether you work in a healthcare setting or in a research setting that handles biohazards, it is important to have some basic understanding so what you need to keep your place of work safe. Here, you will be walked through the top things that you need to know.
Classifications
All biohazards are put into levels. Biohazard Level 1 comprises agents not known to cause disease in healthy adults, all the way to Biohazard Level 4, which encompasses agents that pose a high risk to life for which there are no vaccines or treatments. So, it makes sense to check that any agents that you and your staff work with are marked! The easiest way to do this is to put up biohazard signs by Seton and then, of course, to ensure that your staff are versed in the meaning of the signs.
Handling
Next, you need to consider the handling of the biohazards, and what your staff use to move these agents. You will need to check that you have the appropriate personal protective equipment, or PPE on hand, which usually includes gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles. If you are handling waste daily, make sure that you and your staff follow the appropriate safety protocols when removing this waste and, of course, make sure that it is disposed of safely.
Disposal
Even when it is outside your place of business, you need to ensure that laws are adhered to when getting rid of biohazards. As before, you need to make sure that it is collected by a licensed and trained team, who have the expertise to dispose of the waste properly. As well as this, you need to check that you have the correctly marked biohazard bags or boxes and that when the agents are put outside to be collected, the box or bag is sealed appropriately. It is also your role to ensure that all of the biohazardous materials are collected on time.
Training For Staff
You would face a nightmare of legal fees if you had staff at your place of work who were handling biohazards without the appropriate training. Make sure that all of your team have received the correct training to handle biohazardous materials, as well as being able to identify it, handle it, and dispose of it. This training will also help your staff to be aware of potential hazards that can come from incorrect handling of these materials, as well as what to do should they be exposed to it accidentally.
Decontamination
It is also your responsibility to implement decontamination protocols if these materials are handled at your place of work. This will usually involve using the correct disinfectants and the correct procedures surrounding the cleaning of surfaces that the agents have come into contact with. You will also need to establish immediate cleanups of spills should these happen accidentally. Photo by Gustavo Fring Read the full article

Facts About 40-Hour HAZWOPER in Texas, New Jersey, New York, California, Florida, and Alaska
US citizens are engaged in different types of tasks and professions. Many tasks involve exposure to toxic elements and other hazardous substances that harm health. Such individuals need to consider taking the 40-hour HAZWOPER in Texas, New Jersey, New York, California, Florida, and Alaska. Sure, one may opt for short-term training as well. Being introduced to the dangers and being able to identify them and ensure safety measures can help one be protected even when exposed to specific hazards. It is also important to know that the US government mandates such a training course for all concerned workers and people exposed to the hazards. The standards are detailed in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120.
It is vital to understand the category of people who must be well-trained to prevent such fatal or dangerous exposure. The authorities recommend the following groups that need to take the training well in advance of exposure to hazardous elements:
· Emergency Responders during an emergency · Clean-up workers associated with  uncontrolled hazardous waste sites · Workers used in operations at the hazardous waste Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs)
All three groups of workers receive different types of training to avoid being affected by hazardous materials.
OSHA recommends the training for all workers who risk being in or exposed to the following situations:
· High concentrations of poisonous substances and toxic gases such as nuclear plants · A fire or explosion hazard in mines and gas oils · Below-average oxygen levels in mines and underground facilities · Hazardous atmospheres · Confined spaces
Training is provided over a 40-hour period and may be taken both online and on the site. Students prefer online training as it enables them to complete the training course at their convenience. Moreover, they are free to take the course on weekends as well.
Training Modules The 40-hour training covers a wide range of necessary topics that include:-
· OSHA Regulatory Standards · Planning and Organization · Site Characterization · Medical Surveillance · Toxicology · Hazard Classification · Chemical Hazards · Radiological Hazards · Respiratory Protection · Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) · Decontamination · Air Monitoring · Compressed Gases · Material Sampling and Analysis · Handling Drums · Confined Spaces · Excavations · Emergency Response Procedures
While one may take the course online and pass the required test, one needs to complete a three-day in-person training course by contacting a supervisor who provides the training. After successfully completing the training, the student may print the certificate.
Occasionally, workers who encounter such hazardous situations may spend considerably less time opting for 24-hour HAZWOPER training in Texas, New Jersey, New York, California, Florida, and Alaska. It is necessary to know that this certificate will remain valid for a year. The student must take an 8-year refresher course to ensure the employer's training criteria are met.
