👋Read this ➡ @Regrann_App from @shawnstockman - This is an example of "driver" mentality. A driver was a black slave that was appointed as an overseer of other black slaves. The purpose and tactic of a plantation owner hiring a driver was that, one, they understood that loyalty wouldn't be a problem, simply because they not only put the driver in a position of authority, but was given in comparison to the slaves they managed, a better quality of living. The driver's job was to keep the production as well as the morale of the workers high! They did that by perpetuating the dogma of the plantation owner, making the slaves feel "good" about being a slave. The plantation owner also understood, by putting "one of theirs" in a position of status, it would make keeping the slaves in line much easier. The driver unfortunately, always felt "blessed" because of what was given to him by his plantation owner, nicer clothes, better rations of food, even soap and water to bathe. But the driver never understood that the scraps that was given to him was merely a fraction of what his "boss" was making off of him AND his slaves. This isn't a diss to Lil Wayne, the interview is just an example of the epidemic that is spreading. In a world where it's ok to be called a "savage", which is "an uncontrollable animal" by definition, black men and women of power have adapted the "fuck everything or everybody, get money" mantra. This is very dangerous, and its further proof we're living in perilous times! Pay attention. - #regrann #lilwayne #drivermentality
