Ancient Babylonia
The door flung open, two sets of laughter were heard as feet stumbled into the dimmed room and the door closed abruptly.  The sweet scent of the blossoming flowers outside the window flooded the room, candles were already lit in corners of the room and near the bed that was in the center of the room, and the soft sounds of the town below floated into the small room as the two sets of giggles and waves of laughter finally calmed down.
Clío leaned back from her hold on Druig, seeing him nearly wish to keep her close within a hand's reach as she looked around the room where they were.  Her eyes twinkled at the sight, her smile etched on her face as she then walked over to the open windows to look down at the humans going into their homes for the night.  The moon hung high, and the music from the feast where they came from was still heard high in the air as she looked out at the city in front of her.
For the first time in a long time, Clío did feel like a God at that moment there that night.
They were three stories up, a massive building that was built by the humans as a shrine of sorts for the Eternals, for the Gods according to the humans.  They wished to make a resting place for the Eternals, apartments for them to rest and be worshipped. Clío never took the notion of being seen as God seriously, nor did she toy with it.  She only knew of herself as an Eternal, there to protect the humans from Deviants and to watch them evolve in front of her own eyes.  Yet the humans saw her as more than that, seeing her filled with power with her bellows and scream and perhaps a descendant from heaven.  As did the others, some liked the notion of being seen as a God more than others.
Yet in her mind, she was simply Clío.
It's been 3 years since the Eternals arrived in Babylonia, helping the humans thrive and multiply their city into what is now a major empire on the planet.  For three years, The Eternals lived amongst the humans in Babylonia and learned from them, seeing the good and the bad in the species.  Clío grew to love them, as did the rest of the Eternals.  Yet Clío never thought she would fall in love with another, someone who saw her as an equal and as someone worthy of love.
Druig, the mind controller and the love of her life.
They've only been together for two years, though their mutual love for one another ran deep far beyond that.  Clío knew her feelings for Druig were there for some time, yet she was too shy to say anything at all.  But once he kissed her under the stars, every insecurity was melting away. She felt that love deep in her core from the moment their lips touched, when his arm wrapped around her, and his heartbeat was right along hers.  Clío knew then what love must have felt like with humans when they loved each other, and she no longer had to wonder if she would feel that love herself.
Druig loved her with everything he had in her, never once hesitant to bring her happiness and peace.  None of the others ever fathomed that they would see Druig act like a love-sick puppy with anyone, yet Druig never once shied away from it.  In fact, he would hold Clío's hand anytime he could, staying close by her not just as a sense of safety but as a sense of love and connection.  No matter the teasing he got from Sprite or Kingo, or the giggles and smirks from Sersi and Makkari, Druig felt his love grow for Clío as the years came and went.
He knew he was in love with Clío.
"It's beautiful up here," Clío hummed in amazement as she was scanning the scattered stars along the black sky.  Her head was still light and her chest was still warm, the feast where she and Druig came from was still going on into the wee hours of the morning.  The humans conducted the feast in honor of the Eternals defending them from Deviants.  She never thought she could dance for hours on end and lay so hard from some of Kingo's stories, or see Sprite cast illusions for the young children and watch their eyes widen in amazement. Yet the night was filled with laughter and joy, no fears or worries, and plenty of smiles were seen from both the humans and the Deviants.  Towards the end of the night, Clío felt Druig slip his hand in hers, ushering her away from the massive crowd in the middle of the dance floor as he whispered in her ear four simple words.
"Come away with me,"
So they slipped away, giggling as they left the main hall where the feast was.  Neither of them noticed Ajak watching them slightly opening the side door to slip out.  Yet she smiled, already knowing their love was blossoming day by day.  They both jogged down the hallway, hand in hand, and the sounds of their laughter bounced off the walls around them while Druig lead the way.  After slipping through the shadows and away from most of the humans that were still mingling about in the marketplace.
"It is, isn't it?" Druig asked as he looked over at Clío with a tilt of his head.  Of course, he knew she was talking about the stars and the city stretched out in front of them, bustling with life.  But he was mostly talking with Clío, seeing her hair almost glow in the reflection of the stars and the moon hung high in the air.  He was watching her freckles so bright along her arms and cheeks, and even the way she was perched against the railing of the balcony.  Her body language showed she was calm and safe, nothing was having her keep her guard up or be on alert.  This side of Clío was infectious, soothing, and calming.  Druig could watch her all day and never be tired or lose interest.
"This room, this building really, seems far too much for us doesn't it?" Clío asked nonchalantly as she was playing with the helm of her dress, her fingers twisting and playing along the silk fabric against her waist.
"Perhaps, although Kingo thinks it is not big enough for him and his prized possessions gifted to him by the humans," Druig hummed as he walked over to Clío slowly, his hands clad behind his back as he was keeping his eyes on her, "Not to mention Ikaris and his enlarged ego,"
"You still think of him in such a way?" Clío asked with a smirk as she looked over her shoulder at Druig, seeing him approach her softly and carefully, a soft gentle tempo in his steps as he rolled his eyes.
"I have the utmost respect for him….most of the time," He replied, Clío laughing as he joined her against the railing of the balcony, "I just find his ever-present need to please Ajak a bit much at times.  I know you think the same way, don't deny it,"
Clío said nothing and merely smiled, though Druig could sense her flushing a bit in her cheeks as he looked out at the marketplace below them, "I find this not too much.  At least for you, I think you deserve a whole palace yourself,"
"Druig…" Clío said with a hint of embarrassment as Druig smiled widely at her.
"It's true, I would never lie to you.  A palace may not be enough for you though, since I think you deserve all and more," He replied, reaching over to take her hands from fiddling with the fabric of her dress.  He laced their fingers together, palm to palm, just the right way he loved to hold her hand and never let her go.  It was one of the very first things that made him think of peace.  Knowing that the world around him would still evolve and change, his feelings for Clío made him feel grounded and consistent.
"You always know how to say the right thing to me," Clío explained to Druig as he watched her with a glint in his eye, "And I fall or it every time, why is that?"
"My ever-present charm?" He asked coyly as she gave him a knowing look.  Druig just scooted closer to be next to her, arm to arm, and he simply gave her the kinder stare that he could, "I merely love you, Clío.  I love you for loving all the sides of me: the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of me,"
Clío stared at him with softness and yet intensity in her eyes, Druig almost losing his breath in how her hazel eyes were so bright and yet filled with all of the wisdom and admiration that she could ever have.  He could get lost in her eyes, in the tone of her voice, and in the softness of her skin along his fingertips.  Even beyond her unique beauty, Druig loved her kind heart and her intense spirit.  Beyond her fierce nature in battle and using her screams against Deviants, she was filled with warmth that the others sensed and would love to come to.  Druig always saw her consoling both humans and the other Eternals, considering himself lucky to have her in his life when he knew he was more willing to be observant and watch from afar.
Sometimes he wondered why she would be with someone like him, someone with the weight of the world on his shoulders.
"No parts of you are ugly," Clío stated to him, her voice calm like the softness of the wind along the ocean waves, "I never saw anything ugly within you, Druig, even after all of these centuries.  I only see good in you, and that goodness is seen by others too,"
Druig felt those words seep into his bones so strongly, like vines that were wrapping around him to make him feel it deeply.  Clío always gave him words of affirmation, more than he could ever give him.  Even before they got together as a couple and confessed their love for one another, Clío always told Druig of his worth.  She reminded him of his place with the Eternals and how important he was with his aid for the humans.
There were times when Druig felt low and that his own beliefs were not in vain, but Clío never strayed from his side or left him alone with his thoughts.  Her words encouraged him to keep trying, to have him stand on his own two feet, and to never back down from what he knew was right.  He needed someone in his corner, and he found it in Clío.
Hearing that from Clío made Druig lean in to kiss her softly, feeling her melt against him while he held her hand.  Her lips were smooth against his chapped lips, Druig felt like he consumed a drug of sorts when he would kiss her over and over, almost in a trance or one of Sprite's too-real illusions as she kissed him back.   Her spare hand was reaching up to cup his jaw, for she too wished to keep him close as they kissed back and forth for a good solid minute.
Clío would always get lost in her mind when they would kiss, ever since they kissed for the first time under the stars she would always feel both filled to the brim with love and lost at sea at the same time. She could feel his love when he kissed her, the hint of innocence and the flicker of devotion was always present and a routine feeling.
Maybe it was the flicker of emotion that was stirring inside of the pair of them, or even still having the high from the feast they were at moments before, but something was awakening inside them both as their kissing was processing from gentle and sweet to intense and bold.  Yet there was no hesitance in either one, Druig's arm around Clío's waist pulling her closer to him while her fingers were slowly drifting to sink into his hair.
He loved that feeling of her fingers in his dark locks, almost like a weakness that no one else ever knew.  The softness of her palm against his brown hair and close to his skull nearly made him crumble as he pressed a hard kiss against her lips, whimpering a bit as her fingers slightly curled.
She gave the softest tug, and a groan was heard from his lips from that action.
Clío heard it instantly and she felt warm all over, pulling away from Druig as he was trying to chase after her lips.  But she placed some distance from him, searching his eyes to see how they looked so warm with the blue almost heightened.  His breath was short and he gulped, maybe thinking he did something wrong to mess with the moment.
Yet her eyes were showing no remorse, they were in fact just as bright and true as Druig's eyes.  Both of their feelings were heightened out there on the balcony as Druig searched her orbs.  Maybe he was going to say they can slow down, they can simply just enjoy the rest of the night together.  But she was the first one to speak, her voice sounding honest and bare.
"It's okay," She replied, those two simple words that seemed like nothing to anyone else.  But to Druig, he knew she meant more than just the kiss.  She was willing to be vulnerable to her and vice versa, there was no wall between them and no secret that they would keep from one another.  The openness and vulnerability were something that never diminished or changed, and Druig felt it as he searched her hazel orbs.
He then knew what she was saying, and his eyes got a bit bigger.
"You sure?" He asked, his voice sounding a bit hoarse as she nodded her head slowly.  Although she nodded, Druig was still hesitant.  Clío leaned in a bit, almost nose to nose to peer into his blue eyes and have him somewhat feel her energy with him in front of her.  She softly smiled, Druig thinking of her smile alone as a radiant ray of sunshine that would always brighten his day.  Clío's smile alone would cure all the broken pieces of his heart and soul, mending it back together with ease.
"More sure than anything on this planet," She replied, her voice remaining soft and her eyes never leaving Druig.  Her fingers moved to cradle his jaw again, her thumb close to his plump lower lip as they remained staring at each other intensely. Druig was almost worried to move first, his heart beating out of his chest and his breath heightened as her thumb then traced his lower lip.  Such a simple gesture made him tremble.
He was a goner, and he leaned in to kiss her badly.
Humming against his lips, Clío grinned and returned her kiss as he was holding her so close in his arms and pulling her away from the balcony, away from prying eyes that could be watching.  His body was on autopilot really, he was only focusing on kissing Clío and running his fingers along her waist.  Her curves under his dress seemed so inviting to Druig as he couldn't stop his lips from touching hers.
But his fingers started to wander, attempting to undo some of the ties that were holding her dress together.  Although he was still occupying his lips, he could tell he was stumbling on how to undo her dress.  Clío must have sensed it, giggling against his lips as Druig finally huffed and pulled away, looking down at her dress and seeing the intricate wraps.
"How do I get this off?" He asked in a breath, Clío had to laugh at how he was looking at the dress now in a managing way and now with love as he did earlier.
"You in a rush then, are you?" She asked back as Druig merely smirked.
"Can ya blame me?" He countered back to her, though they both were grinning like mad at how they were acting.  Druig knew he was going to take a huge step with Clío, yet at the same time, they both were so calm and light about this too.  He should be a bit nervous about this, he's never done this with anyone before.  Nor could he remember if he did, so this was going to be something that was going to change him forever.
However, this felt right with Clío.  She made his heart sing ever since she smile at him for the first time there on the Domo.  Her voice alone was a calming presence in his chaotic mind and chaotic thoughts, and a simple touch of her hand would bring him to his knees.  Clío was all Druig could ever want and need, solely because she made him feel so worthy on Earth when others wouldn't.
"Here, grab this part right here," Clío said to him carefully, placing his hand right along a small knot that was along her lower back.  Druig watched, his fingers touching the bunched fabric with her fingers there too, seeing the dark orange color of the dress in contrast to her fair skin.  Once he had some of the material in his grasp, Clio curled into him a bit more as she framed his face in her hands, making his eyes look right at her since she could tell he was having a moment of panic.  Reading Druig like a book was something Clío was good at, and now she could see the wheels turning in his mind at such. Frantic pace.
"Just you and me, okay?" She reminded him, seeing him gulp as she pressed a light kiss under his right eye, "I trust you, I trust us.  Nothing else matters to me than what I feel for you, Druig."
Druig felt those words sink under him, becoming concrete within himself.  Having another person love him, purely love him with no hesitance and no restrictions, made Druig feel so human.  It was the first time he felt human, no matter how long he's been on Earth and around humans to watch them grow and evolve, now he felt what they felt when it came to love.  All thanks to Clío and her never-ending love for him.
With one simple tug of the knot he was clutching, the top part of the garment she wore fell off of her instantly.
Her undergarments she wore were still on, but the dress was now pooled around her feet as Druig looked with some shock on his face.  The curves along her hips and thighs were evident, her freckles contrasting her skin and almost making her look like she was shimmering.  He always knew she was beautiful, but now she seemed beyond radiant for him to see.
"How did it do that?" He asked suddenly, Clío grinning with a hint of blush on her cheeks as she shrugged.
"Makkari showed me how.  She hates how long it takes to get the dress on, so she showed me this trick to make it fast," She explained, sounding nonchalant about it.  But she saw the look he had on his face as he drank in the sight of her, only in her undergarments and showing more skin to anyone than she ever would for anyone else.  If it was anyone else she would feel petrified, but not with Druig.  Not with the very Eternal who saw her beauty from the inside out and brought her more joy and love than she could ever imagine.
"Here," She said, reaching for his clothes and she started to undress his shirt for him as he still looked at her body in such a longing way.  Taking off the fewer buttons that were on his shirt, she pushed the garment up, bunching it around his armpits to have him move his arms up.  Although she was moving soft and slow, taking in the moment with Druig and seeing his skin more and more exposed for her, Druig simply threw the long shirt off and tossed it to the floor with impatience.  His bare chest in front of her, breathing a bit harshly as Clío laughed from his antic, Druig ruffled his hair and dived in to kiss her again.
"You're far too impatient," Clío murmured against his lips, though she slightly moaned as he licked her lower lip with his tongue to open her mouth more.
"And you're far too beautiful," He replied just as softly while his fingers were running along her bare arms and then her waist to feel the thin material against his calloused fingers, "They should have a shrine of your beauty, big enough to block out the sun, and yet it would still fail in comparison to how you look to me,"
"I don't want a shrine," Clío explained as her fingers were running down his chest and touched along his hips where his pants were hanging low, "I don't want anyone else to look at me in such a way.  I just want you to love me,"
Druig stared at her dead in the eyes, his fingers freezing from going under his garments to touch her bare skin along her hips.
"I'll love you until there's nothing left in me, Clío.  I promise ya," He vowed to her.  Clío smiled so wide, her heart feeling like it could explode with all that she was feeling in that second from hearing Druig say such things.  Within a second, Druig wrapped Clío in his hold to pull her towards the large bed that was already turned down, the sheet cool to the touch as he was sitting on the edge of the bed and he had her sitting in his lap within a moment.
Clío gasped from the sensation, her arms linking around his neck as his hands found her bare thighs, her undergarments tucked up to pool around her hips.  She felt his pants along her core, and her breath heightened for a moment as he drank in the image of her.  Clío, perched on his lap in her nearly bare undergarments and her hair down to frame her face.  Both were still for a second or two, knowing that there was no turning back on what they wished to do.  But neither of them cared.
"I love you," Druig hummed to Clío as he peered up at her, his hands rubbing her thighs carefully and soothingly to almost calm her nerves while she looked down at him.  He kissed her softly, no longer rushing or desperate as it was moments before when this all started.  He was now going to take his time, unfolding each layer that Clío had and he was not going to hold back.  One hand moved to the straps on her shoulder blade, touching the thin martial that would be the only obstacle in the way of having her completely bare in front of him. After pausing for a moment, Druig hummed softly at Clío while he kissed her in a way to ask permission.
"Yes," She whispered back, moving her arm for him to let the strap fall and her arm moved out.  He moved to the other strap, Clío doing the same while they were still kissing and caressing each other on the edge of the bed.  Once both straps were finally freed, the top of her undergarment slipped down to her waist. Clío, bare from the waist up, shivered from the cold that she felt against her skin because of the chilling air.
"God, Clío," Druig full out moaned as his hands moved up to cup each breast that was right in front of him, Clío gasping from feeling his palms along her nipples as he kissed her jawline and down to her sensitive neck, "You feel amazin', I can't stop touchin' ya no matter how hard I try,"
"Don't," Clío softly pleading as his kisses along her neck were going lower and lower with every press of his lips along her skin, "I…I don't want you to ever…stop…Druig!"
She nearly cried out as his lips circled one nipple and he started his kisses there.  Clío clung onto him for dear life, still in his lap and her fingers were once again digging in his hair as he was still touching and caressing her chest with both his lips and his hands.  Clío could feel everything around her and yet not enough at the same time, her skin felt so electric with every ship of his tongue or every brush of his fingertips.  It was nothing that she's ever felt before, the most beautiful feeling she's ever felt up until that moment in time.
Clío knew of humans touching like this, hearing stories from the others, or accidentally seeing humans in the act when they were hiding away in the shadows or alleyways.  It never occurred to her that she would feel what they feel, the pleasure building inside of her that seemed all-consuming.  Of course, love could be felt in so many ways, shapes, and forms, but now she was experiencing it in a whole new light with the very being that gave her the definition of love.
Her hands moved from his hair and neck and downwards, touching his chest and along his ribs, before they descended further and further to where his pants were.  There was an evident bulge there, she could feel it against her leg.  Her fingers were lightly touching the top of the bulge, feeling Druig shiver as he moved from kissing one breast to another.  Clío's fingers moved again, a bit bolder now as her hands went to touch the top of his pants along the hem.  His stomach full-on quivered as Druig pulled away from kissing her breasts to let out a shaky moan.  Clío thought he sounded heavenly, open, and raw for no one else to hear or experience as his breath was shaky against her skin
He looked right up at Clío, his eyes dilated and mirroring the very pleasure he was feeling as her hand slipped down into his pants and touched him.  He gasped out, Clío seeing how heavenly he appeared.
If this was how love was truly supposed to be felt, then Clío would want it forever with him.
"Fuck," he gasped out as her hand moved, his mind completely shutting down and was only filled with pleasure he was feeling all over.  Having the love of his life there, bare and open for him to witness, gave him the same amount of blinding pleasure and the feeling as if he could fly like Golden Boy Ikaris.  But he highly doubted Ikaris would be able to truly feel this bliss, even with all his cockiness and bravado.  Not with how Druig was feeling it in his toes and along his spine, how he could even put a sentence together as Clío would twist her wrist or pick up her pace a bit faster.  He was no longer in control, but he liked it.
Clío could bring him to his knees and he wouldn't care.
"Druig," Clío hummed his name, softly to get his attention.  Druig looked right into her eyes, seeing how they shined and stayed consistent in his gaze.  He wanted to say something but he was feeling too much, her movement was at a slow rhythm, but teasing and yet taking care of that itch that he had.  It was building, almost like climbing a peak, and was about to slide right back down.  His eyelids were heavy and his breath was still shallow, his skin was so sensitive and his heart was pounding.  But now he was focusing on Clío, who was watching him as if he was the most precious thing in her possession.
"You okay?" She asked as a small tug of a smile was on her lip.  She felt that tension building more and more.  Clío merely wanted to check in with Druig and see if he was alright, even in the heat of the moment and with her hand around his cock.  It seemed rather silly for him to ask since he was already on cloud nine, so close to being on the brink of orgasm with the love of his life, but he finally found his voice.
"More than," He replied, his voice sounding like he had run a for at least an hour.  His fingers were clinging to her for dear life, almost like she was an anchor in an ever-rough ocean that was throwing him all over the place.  But he carefully moved her hand, letting her release his cock with such reluctance as she eyes him carefully.  He shook his head and moved to stand up, letting her stand up too as he wrapped her in his arms and twirled them to have her on the bed.
It didn't matter that his pants were now bunched around his thighs and his cock was standing erect and exposed to the air to have him shake, his mind was now on Clío as she was now sprawled out on the bed.  His mind was solely focused on making Clío feel just as good as he was feeling.  Her skin was soft against his fingers as they moved along her chest and ribs, her eyes shining from the candles lit in the room, and her red hair sprawled around her head like the rays of the sun.  Druig merely saw her as a Goddess, a true Goddess that should be worshiped from sun up to sun down.
And he was going to worship her with everything he had.
His fingers grazed her hips and then slowly descended, her long and thick thighs quivered from the touch of his palms as they were finally reaching her core.  He kept his eyes on her as his digits were now slowing along her folds, seeing the reaction in her eyes as her body nearly buckled.  She felt divine under his finger and under her gaze, Druig couldn't think of any other image that was just as angelic as Clío sprawled out on the bed and being pleasured by him.
Clío felt as if she could hover above her own body as his fingers were moving along her folds, making her wet before she knew it.  She could feel her hands shaking from how much she was feeling, Druig reached over with his spare hand and held her hadn't tight right near her head as one finger was finally slipping inside of her.  Clío moaned, her body arching from the sensation as Druig never stopped his movement.  Of course, he's never done this before with another person, but reading the minds of human men in passing or when they were talking to one another gave him enough pointers on how to pleasure a woman.  Even at the time, he thought nothing of it, merely something humans did.
But now he was doing the very thing to Clío, and watching her melt under his touch was amazing.
"Oh….oh Druig….I…" Clío couldn't even talk about how much she was feeling, her pleasure was felt everywhere and within her at the same time.  Druig leaned down to kiss her all over her face and neck, slipping another finger inside of her and feeling her shake even more.  The peak was coming for her, so close to breaking into a million pieces that he was afraid it would come too soon. But how could that be, when she felt so good under Druig?
Druig finally pulled his fingers out, both Clío and Druig looking with a glazed look at how wet his fingers were as her thighs were quivering and her hips moved on their own accord for a brief moment.  Druig's eyes widen at the sight, Clío was trying to catch her breath. But they were thinking the same thing.
"You're so fucking divine, Clío," Druig said in a grumble as he looked from his fingers to Clío, watching her for a brief moment before he slicked up his cock with the juices from his fingers.  Part of them wanted to rush, and another part want to this moment and let it drawl out. But this one place in time could change everything for them.
So he took the chance, looking at Clío directly in the eyes as he guided his cock into her entrance.
It took some time, inching in little by little to merry make sure Clío was comfortable.  He could sense and feel it, how tight it was around him as he leaned down to be nose-to-nose with Clío.  Watching her squirm a bit and almost squint, he stopped and kissed her face all over, waiting ever patiently to sink in further.  He would wait for however long it took for her to let him in, her legs bracketing his hips and her hands clinging to his back as she breathed out a deep long breath.  He kissed away the discomfort on her face and the trembling of her jaw as he inched in a bit more, feeling her wrapped around his cock too tightly.  But it felt beyond amazing to him, feeling her walls around him in such a vice grip.
Was this what he was missing this whole time?  He won't ever miss out on it again.
"You okay?" he asked against her lips, feeling her nod and cling onto him a bit tighter as he pushed the hair out of his eyes, "Clío, you…you feel so amazin'."
Clío took in a long breath, feeling how he was snug against her walls and filling her to the brim.  It was a nice sensation, almost consuming her inwardly and externally as she found her voice too.  Reaching up with a shaky hand, she touched his lips with her fingers as she shakily said, "I can feel you everywhere, Druig."
Druig could have crumbled if he could, then finally moved in the last inch to be fully inside of her.  He moaned, stopping and trying to collect himself before his hips would move.  There was no other feeling like this one, nothing could come close to how he felt as though their souls were finally intertwining.  In the physical act of love, being connected not just emotionally but now physically made him beyond emotional.
Clío noticed the small tear that was in the corner of his eyes as she reached up to cup his face.
"Druig?" She asked, searching his blue eyes and wondering what was making him cry at a time like this.  But Druig shook his head, inhaling sharply in hopes that he could hide it, and was about to turn his face away before Clío framed his jaw in her fingers.  Eyes locked, both staying still while he was deep inside of her, and Clío spoke again, "I'm right here, Druig.  Let go….just let go and be here with me,"
A simple request meant everything to Druig.  So he did.  He let go.
His body knew what to do before he could, his hips started to roll as he held her close against him.  Clío let him, her head against his own as they were breathing one another in and feeling his pleasure come over him.  Druig only wanted to savor this moment, trying his best to let Clío feel so good and feel that same intense love he had for her.
Every push into Clío made Druig feel that insane pleasure up and down his spine, it was almost cosmic to him how much he was feeling and experiencing.  Up until that moment, he only had an inkling of what humans felt.  He wasn't human himself, only watching it from the sidelines all that humans did with one another.  The good and the terrible.
Not this, not with how he was feeling.
He peered down at Clío as he was still rolling his hips, picking up his pace as his spare hand was clutching her hip.  Just seeing her underneath him, her hair sticking to her neck and shoulders, eyes rolled back in ecstasy and her spare hand clutched his arm in a death grip. Druig was watching Clío in such a vulnerable state
But to Druig, she looked beyond beautiful.
Skin flushed with a hint of sweat along her freckles, lips plump and deep ruby red from being bitten a few times by both himself and Clío, and simply her entire energy was open and vulnerable.  To be open with one another, in the most intimate way that any two beings could ever be, both expanded and broke Druig's heart at the same time.  Maybe he was thinking too much at the moment, but he wouldn't trade this kind of affection, this kind of world-binding love, for anything else in the world. Druig knew then and there, he only wanted this with Clío and no one else.
She was his, and he was hers.
Clío focused back on Druig above her as he hit a certain spot deep inside of her making her almost howl.  Once she saw him, she almost faltered for a moment from what he was witnessing.  Druig, hunched over her and cradling her in his arms as if she was the most valuable gem or mineral on the planet, sweat plastered along his own body and his hair against his forehead, but with evident tears in his eyes.
Druig was crying.
Clío felt it too, maybe they were feeling it together.  That sense of being one in the heat of the moment and everything else melts away.  Even as their sweat was mingling together, the gasps and moans they both were sharing in unison almost like they were creating their own melody.  Sheets clinging onto Clío's backside, sweat pooled Druig's chest and breath was shortening, both of their peaks were so close to tipping over.
Clío leaned up and kissed Druig, touching his tears with her spare hand as he sped up a bit faster with his hips, still driving into her deeply and showing no signs of slowing down.  How could he, with how high he was feeling?  He was so close, kissing Clío and trying to make it last a bit longer.  He could also feel Clío tremble against him, the shaking of her thighs along his hips and her fingers catching his jaw for dear life.
She was even clutching his cock tightly, in a vice grip too deliciously tight.  She was close too.
"Clío…I'm about to—" Druig tried to warn her, but his breath was lost and he felt his entire body release that tension that was building over time.  He never felt something that intense before in his life, and his eyes slammed shut, and groaned loudly in the room.  The release almost made him paralyzed, making him too feel like he could float away from Earth and up amongst the stars.
He felt like he was, and he never wished to forget that feeling ever again.
It felt like the sensation was going to last forever, yet it wasn't just Druig who orgasmed in that breath.  Clío did too, her entire body shaking from the sudden orgasm.  No matter all the rumors she heard from the humans in the past, of the undertone whispers from the other Eternals, feeling it herself was almost cosmic, to say the least.  And to think Druig was the one who was bringing her this kind of cosmic sensation. which made Clío love him all the more.
Finally, as the heat of the moment was slowly dwindling within the room and their labored breathing, Druig and Clío locked eyes with each other.  Nothing else seemed to matter to either one of them, just simply realizing that they took this step together.  Druig still kept his hands on Clío, not wishing to let her go or not be able to touch her.  Maybe she was sensing the same, clinging onto him while she felt like she was descending back to earth again.  The only thing that was making her know it was real was Druig pressing kisses all over her, his lips along her neck and eyelids, and then over to her chin and collarbone.
Druig was the first to smile, genuinely smile, as if he was getting her for the first time all over again on the Domo so long ago.  Clio broke out into her smile too, the pair of them breathing out almost a sigh of relief and some giggles too.
"Did we just do that?" She asked, clearly still catching her breath and feeling her heartbeat still pounding against her chest.  Druig nodded, kissing her face all over again to hear her squeal in delight.
"Yeah, yeah we did," he hummed against her skin, still reeling himself.  His skin was buzzing and almost vibration, his mind was on overdrive in replaying all that happened moments before, and yet at the same time he was so glad he could enjoy this blissful moment with Clio.  Even after such a life-changing event, they both were feeling lighter than ever and had no sense of regret or remorse.
Druig carefully pulled out, sensing the small discomfort from Clio as he tried to go as smoothly as he could.  Once he was completely out, he moved quickly to grab a rag that was near a washing basin, next to the door. He almost wobbled from the new sense of gravity, but he never slowed as Clio perched up a bit in bed.
"Dru?” He heard her ask.
"Hang on!" He replied over his shoulder, getting the rag wet in the basin before ringing it out and jogging a bit back to Clio.  Seeing her still naked, perched on top of the now ruined sheets, and grinning at him made his heart beat a bit faster as he climbed back onto the bed with her.  Carefully and with precision, he wiped both himself and Clio down from both the sweat and the mess that was accumulated.  Clio let him, feeling the gentle swipes of the rag along her skin.  It was a soothing touch, humming as he was getting her cleaned up again before tossing the rag to the ground and wrapping her in his arms.
They both said nothing, simply letting the coolness of the night come into the room and the sounds of the party still fill their ears.  Clio's head on his chest, her hair cascading down along his shoulder and arm made Druig grin like a made man as Clio had her arms around his lower waist.
Neither of them knew at the time, but it was the start of their relationship deepening.  The new path was now laid out and waiting for the pair of them to follow.  Not simply because they were falling in love with one another, they already were.  But in their minds, their souls were now intertwined for the better with no signs of being separated ever again.
The End

South Dakota
The soft rolling thunder was heard right over the mountains not too far away, Clío looked up from her spot at the sink to see the dark great clouds that were hovering over the top of the massive mountains and even some flicker of lightning evident. It was already sprinkling at their farmhouse, the pattering of raindrops on their windows was a soft melody that was heard throughout the living room and kitchen.
Storms were normal throughout the late spring and early summer in South Dakota, Clío and Druig were now masters in taking care of the farmhouse during massive rainfalls and storms that would come and go. They both were used to it in the Amazon, but now in South Dakota, you had to deal with dust storms and even a few tornados here and there.
Thankfully you and Druig knew that the storm was coming, even though it wasn't going to be consistent. Just for the night and then it was moving East. Druig got plenty of supplies for the night in case the storm was worse, you had the horses in their little shelter in their corral, and all you had to focus on was our four-year-old and her small fear of massive thunderstorms.
Melody loved her little at the farmhouse, and both Clío and Druig were glad to have settled in Ajak's old home and place of rest. It felt like the home was part of them, knowing the creaks in the floorboards on the stairs, the worn paint on some of the walls in the master bedroom, and even the sweet smell of some of the old herbs that Ajak was growing before she was killed. It was all embedded in their bones, the soft normal life that was away from others and at peace was what Druig and Clío needed.
Raising their daughter in the farmlands and open plains was as close to the way they wished to have raised her in the Amazon. Her love for animals and nature was part of her ever since she was a baby, and Clío could only imagine that she would have thrived in the Amason amongst the trees and wildlife. Then again, the Amazon was not a forgiving place, so South Dakota will have to do.
On that rainy afternoon, Melody was perched at the dinner table, coloring with her well-worn crayons on scrapes of paper as Clío was doing the dishes in the sink. Another soft rumble of thunder was heard, still very far off but still inching a bit closer.
"Petal, your dad should be coming back soon from work, should we get dinner ready?" Clío asked as she washed her mug and then Druig's mug.
"Mmhmm, we should have spaghetti!" Melody said in a chipper tone, concentrating on her coloring as Clío laughed.
"You always love to eat spaghetti, Mel," Clío explained, placing the mugs on the drying rack next to the sink. She could hear the soft sounds of Melody coloring one second, and then the next she didn't. Clío didn't think anything of it, just humming to herself as she got another set of plates done as the rain was still falling on top of the house in a gentle rhythm. But after a solid minute of cleaning, Clío sensed something was off.
Or someone was off.
She looked behind her, Melody was frozen at the table and looking right out the kitchen window that was facing the horse corral, and her eyes were determined.
"Mel?" Clío asked, turning a bit as she watched her daughter, "What is it, baby?"
"They're scared," Meldy replied, her eyes still on the corral and the small shelter in the corner of the fenced-in area. Clío looked at the corral too, knowing the horses were in the shelter but she couldn't see them.
"They're safe in the shelter, Melody," Clío reassured her as Melody's eyes were not leaving the view of the corral. Her face was stern and serious, almost concerned as the rain was getting a bit louder. Clío knew Melody loved those horses, she loved talking to them and chatting with them constantly and riding them with her parents at the end of the day.
Ever since Druig and Clío knew she could communicate with animals, the horses were her friends and confidants when it came to what was on her mind. Melody also became protective of them too, sensing their fear and when they were skittish.
"Nothing's going to happen to them, okay? I promise," Clío reminded Melody calmly as the soft sounds of Druig's truck pulled up. Clío dried off her hands and walked out of the kitchen, going through the living room and seeing it was Druig parking the truck next to the house and rushing in to avoid getting too wet.
"How was the drive?" Clío asked him as he got in the house and closed the door, kissing his cheek and ruffling his damp hair.
"Fine, but the roads are getting muddy from the rain. We're gonna hunker down for the night and we're stuck if things get worse," Druig explained as he got his rain jacket off and then was toeing off his boots.
"I'm glad we went shopping then," Clío hummed in relief, but then the sound of the back screen door slamming shut was heard. Bot Clío and Druig looked over instantly, Clío moving back to the kitchen.
The rain was a bit harder now, and the dinner table was deserted.
"Mel?" Clío asked, looking around the kitchen for any sign of her daughter. Her crayons were still on the table, and some of the papers blew off and were on the floor. Druig came in too, looking around and a bit confused.
"What happened?" He asked.
"Melody was just here coloring when you came home," Clío explained, planning her hands on her hips. She knew Melody was quiet, but not this quiet. Melody would have run over to greet Druig, wrapping her arms around his waist and asking him all about his time at work. So where was she?
One of the horses whinnied from the corral, Clío's head shooting up and she saw her own daughter out in the corral, her head poking into the shelter.
"Shit," She said in a rush, rushing over to throw on her raincoat and out the door. The cold weather hit her all over, along with the raindrops that were now drenching her hair and face. But her focus was on Melody, who snuck under the fence of the corral and was not poking her head in the shelter where the horses were. Of course, Clio was thinking that Melody was going to get sick in the cold rain without her rain gear, let alone being alone in the corral with two massive horses who could be spooked.
Clío has seen people be harmed and killed by spooked horses, and although she knew deep down her own two horses would never dare hurt Melody, she wasn't willing to take the chance.
Not with her daughter.
"It's okay, horseys! It's just thunder! I'm scared too, but momma says it's just a noise and it won't hurt me!" Melody said into the shelter as Clío made her way into the corral. Her head was in the window, her feet barely touching the dirt ground beneath her as Clío finally approached her and heard her talk to the horses, "The noise won't hurt you!"
"Melody Sersi!" Clío said her name in urgency as she squatted down to be at her level and touch her waist, "We need to go inside before you get sick, and you can't be in the corral alone, you know that!"
"Momma," Melody poked her head out and looked at her mother, Clío seeing the concern in her little eyes and on her face as Melody looked at her, "They're scared, momma! They don't like the noise, like me! I wanna help them like when you and Da help me!"
Clío could see it and hear it in her voice, how she was worried about the two hoses who were out here in the rain. Clío knew Melody was more headstrong and assertive in what she wanted to do, and there was some stubbornness too that Clío was convinced she inherited from her father. There was no doubt in Clío's mind that Melody was going to navigate her own course with no remorse, even now as 4 years old she knew that she had to help those who needed it.
Her spirit was strong and embedded, almost channeling Ajak herself.
"I know honey, but they'll be okay. We need to go inside now, okay? Come on, sweetheart, we need to go in," Clío said soothingly to her daughter, not wanting to be too harsh with her since she was merely checking on the horses. Melody bit her lower lip, not wishing to leave her friends behind as the thunder was coming closer to her home.
One of the horses neighed softly a Melody, getting her attention. Melody was clearly listening to what the horse had to say as she was snuggling into Clio. Clío wrapped her jacket around her body. Hoisting her up and holding her close, she shuffled out of the corral as a clap was thunder was heard. Melody shivered, clinging onto Clío tightly as they were making their way into the farmhouse again. Once they were inside, Druig move immediately to get Melody out of Clío's arms.
"Mel, what were ya thinkin'?" Druig said as he took Melody out of Clío's arms and held her close, Meldoy holding onto her father as he pushed the hair out of her eyes, "You can't scare me and your mother like that, ever! Okay?"
"Sorry, Da! I didn't mean to scare you," She mumbled into his shirt, her drenched clothes and hair were getting his dry clothes all wet. Druig sighed and kissed her head over and over while Clío was stripping off her raincoat and getting her long hair in a messy bun.
"You're okay now, Mel. It's okay," Clío reassured her as she rubbed Melody's back, "I know you were worried about the horses, but we're more worried about you being in here with us, okay?"
"That's what they said," Melody explained, Druig and Clío looked at her as she looked up from her head on Druig's shoulder, "They told me to go back inside and listen to you and Da,"
Clío and Druig eyed each other silently, mentally glad that those horses were now looking out for her and telling her to listen. Her powers were still new, but seeing her work her ability in that moment with the horses amongst the rain was nothing short of extraordinary.
"Come on, Petal. Let's give you a bath and get ya in your cozy Pj's," Druig said in a calmer tone, his own anger and worry melted away as he took her to the stairs. Melody looked at Clío over her father's shoulder, Clío giving her a wink and Melody grinned as Druig took her upstairs. Once she was upstairs with her father, Clío let out a long sigh and rubbed her face as the rain was now pounding down on the farmhouse.
It was never a dull moment in their farmhouse

Forgive Part. 2
Summary - Clio has to talk to Ikaris once and for all
Tumblr media
Warnings - Angst with a small hint of fluff
Author's Note - The first part of this segment is found Here. This is a different take on the Druig, Clio, and Melody timeline when Melody is still a baby.
This is part of the Melody Series but in a different timeline
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clio's POV
Clio could only pace back and forth in the nursery, Melody snuggled against her as Clío was trying to keep her anger down.  Holding her daughter helped Clío, not wishing to have the anger festering inside of her while she was holding her baby.  But the small part of her was still fuming with no signs of going away. Inwardly, Clío was wishing to walk back down and outside to the very person that brought her all of this rage, all of those nightmares that were haunting her for years, and the reply of that moment on the beach.
Ikaris was at her home.  Clío had a problem with that for certain.
Punching him was the only thing Clío could do in that heat of the moment, mostly because she would never dare to use her abilities when her baby was still in the farmhouse.  Punching him, though it didn’t give the complete satisfaction that Clio wanted, did feel a bit better. Yet if Clío had the chance to, she would destroy him with her bare hands.  For all that he has done to not just Druig and her, but to her family. It was all unattended anger that Clío had put off for so long that she felt the need to take it out on Ikaris.
However, Druig stopped her, and Clío was thankful for him.
She paused at the window, looking out to see Druig and Ikaris still talking together.  She watched for a moment, that possession and protectiveness were coming over her as she watched Ikaris talk to her husband. He looked rather calm, from where Clío was at least.  But then again Druig knew that he had to talk to Ikaris first, not only for the sake of diffusing the tension in the air, but to also have Clío calm down.
She had a lot to say, but she was glad Druig was going to speak to him first.
Makkari came into the nursery and closed the door quietly, Clío turning around and seeing Makkari watching Clío snuggling into Melody with her own scowl of a face.  She huffed and started to sign, her fingers moving rapidly.
According to Kingo, Ikaris is wanting to make amends with you and Druig, She signed to Clio, hearing Melody babble in her mother’s hold and try to grip her necklace with her chubby fingers, I don’t trust him.  Not after what he did.
“I hate him, ‘Kari,” Clío said in a low tone, not wishing to raise her voice since she was still carrying Melody.  But Melody looked over at Makkari, grinning widely and reaching out with grabby hands at her Godmother.  Makkari glided over, taking her Goddaughter instantly and grinning as Melody was grabbing at her braids to play with them.  Clio bit her lower lip, crossing her arms and pacing the room again.  So many questions were in her head, and mixing her pondering mind with that anger was not a good combination for Clío.
One part of her wanted to run back down to Ikaris and hit him again, and again until the anger would seep out of her.  All she could think about was bringing him pain, the same amount go pain that she felt when she thought she lost Druig out on that beach.  The heartbreak inside of her, and yet Ikaris never blinked or batted an eye at what he did.
Yet the other part, the rational part, was holding her back.  Maybe it was because her life was so settled there in South Dakota, having Druig and Melody with her with immense happiness from both of them, nothing else would really bring her to knees like this.  Of course, she was angry with all that Ikaris did to her and her family, but she was also scared.  The fear she had was if her own little bubble would burst from this meeting, no matter whatever he had to say or what he wished to air out with Clío.
What was she going to do?
Makkari tapped her arm to get her attention, Clío saw Melody nuzzling against Makkari’s hold and her head on Makkari’s shoulder, already falling asleep in her Godmother’s arms.  Melody was a huge factor in what Clío wanted to do, merely because the last thing Clío wished to do was to do something that would change her daughter’s life.  Although she was far too young to remember any of this, Clío still wanted to be a good example for her daughter.  Druig was the same way too, which was they worked well as parents for Melody.  Her life was more precious and sacred than Clío’s own life, ad Clío will do anything it takes to protect her daughter.
What are you thinking? Makkari signed to Clío, Melody blinking slowly and yawning while rubbing her eyes with her fingers.  Clío sighed, twirling her wedding ring on her finger as she was watching her daughter safe and secure in Makkari’s hold.
“I want to kill him for what he almost did to me, to us,” She said, gesturing to her now sleeping daughter as she then paused, “But….but I know Ajak would want me to talk to him,”
Ajak was on her mind at this moment, not merely because Ikaris killed her and took her out of their lives before she could meet Melody, but merely because she was the leader Clío always looked up to.  Long before Sersi took the reins as the leader, Ajak was a good leader to follow and learn from.  Clío hung on her words of wisdom and counsel, her sweet smile would bring Clío joy on lower days, and Ajax’s heart was far too big and too filled with joy to be overshadowed or overlooked.  Even after Clío ad Druig left the family to go off on tier own, Clío still admired Ajak.
There were moments when Druig regretted what he said to Ajak and how he acted to her, bringing him inner turmoil throughout their time in the jungle.  Clío felt it too, hugging him close at night and sensing that he still loved Ajak as their leader and a mentor.  They both regretted Ajak not being to meet their daughter, to see her grow up and place that joy into Melody.  Yet she was still present in their home, maybe knowing that the one would be in the family in some way.
You don’t have to talk to him to, if you don’t want to, Makkari advised Clío with a hint of fondness in her eyes, It’s your call since this is your home.
Before Makkari could sign anything else, the door to the nursery opened.  Clío and Makkari looked, seeing that it was Druig who snuck into the nursery and closed the door instantly.  He looked rather worn down, no longer angry or fuming as he was before when Clío and Druig fought downstairs in the living room.  This time, there was a sense of calm on his face as he looked from Makkari and a sleeping Melody to Clío.  He could see it on her face, walking over a few steps and Clío instantly taking his hand in her own.
“He wants to talk to you,” Druig explained, Clío looking down for a long moment as she was thinking of what she wanted to do.  No matter how many times she wanted to simply push him aside and not worry about it, she still thought about Ajak at that moment.  What would Ajak do?  How could she handle this?  Would it be with grace as she has done long ago?
“It’s your choice,” Druig reminded Clío softly, sensing the conflict on her face, “I won’t have you go out there to talk to him if you’re not going to be comfortable—“
“I’ll talk to him,” Clío interrupted him gently, Druig going quiet as she inhaled softly and squeezed that joined hand, “You’re right, what you said earlier.  We don’t need to forgive him, but we need to talk to him at least,”
“Clío..” Druig said her name carefully, but she shook her head.
“I need to talk to him,” Clío reassured Druig as she looked him dead in the eyes.  Druig scanned her hazel orbs in hopes that he could read what she was thinking.  Yet she was always a mystery to him, something that he loved and adored about his wife and partner for centuries, “If he wants to talk, then we can talk.”
Druig had to give her credit in wishing to talk to Ikaris, he would think she would wish him dead on the spot for even being anywhere near their home.  But she was more leveled-headed than he was, Clio always kept Druig grounded in tense times.  So Druig nodded, knowing his wife knew what she was doing and she had a good head on her shoulders.
Clio could hold her own, even now with Ikaris.
Clio leaned in and kissed Druig one more time, holding it a pinch longer than necessary but it felt right.  She knew Druig was going to watch, not being the complete territorial type but protective enough to stay close by.  Druig watched her walk over to move some of the baby hair from Melody’s closed eyes, seeing the baby snuggle into Makkari’s hold a bit more as she started to snore as she finally walked out of the nursery.
With every step she took down the stairs, she thought back to that moment on the beach. That very second her gut fell to the floor and her heart was beyond broken for repair. Because in that second, she believed Druig was out of her life, taken from her and almost stolen from a thief.
Ikaris was the thief, robbing Clio for the peace and happiness she had for centuries, even before Druig and Clio left for the Amazon.  It was all gone, and now to face the very being again that she thought was out of their lives, hate wanted to consume her all over.
However, she once again thought of Ajak and she took in a breath.
At the bottom of the stairs in the living room was the rest of the group, sitting awkwardly on the couch and chairs.  They all saw Clio and looked a bit worried, yet Clio was a bit more calm compared to moments before when she threw the first punch and bruised his jaw.  Yet they all sat still as Clio made it to the bottom of the stairs, looking out at the front of the house to see no Ikaris in sight.
“He’s out near the horses,” Sersi explained as you looked from the front window, "I….I never wanted to bring you or Druig any kind of discomfort in bringing him here.  I just….I wanted us all to..”
Clio took Sersi’s hand in her own, Sersi’s mouth going shut as they stared at one another.  Clio squeezed her hand tightly, giving her a calm stare with a slight smile.
“You did the right thing, Sersi,” Clio explained, seeing Sersi’s eyes go wide as she continued, “We’re going to talk this out and end it all.  I think...I think it’s what Ajak would have wanted for us to do,”
Sersi grinned, sensing how Clio was willing to take this step that seemed almost impossible some seconds before when they arrived at her home.  Once Clio released her hand and looked past the kitchen and out the window, seeing Ikaris’s back as he was looking at the horses in the corral, Clio started walking without a second thought to hesitance.
Stepping out of the backdoor and taking the few steps to the corral, Ikaris didn’t move but kept his eyes on the horses that were pacing in the small corral.  A small gust of cool wind picked up in the area, making Clio shiver a bit as she tucked the jacket she was wearing a bit tighter around herself.  Although they were alone out there, away from prying ears, she knew the others were watching.  Perhaps not by the others that seemed to be wishing to respect their privacy, but certainly Druig.  Clio knew it was a fact that Druig would be watching.
Inwardly, she was glad he was.
“They’re beautiful,” Ikaris finally said, his voice floating in the open as Clio stood behind him.  Maybe it was a defense mechanism of hers, needing to see his backside instead of the front in case of an attack.
“Horses were always the gentlest of creatures,” Clío said in a hum, her voice was very low, and trying to remain neutral.  No matter how much she wanted to scream at him and punch him again, she knew eyes were watching them both and their talk.  She also knew Druig was watching from a window right behind her, the last thing she knew both herself and Druig wanted was another fight.
“Clío,” Ikaris said her name, almost making Clío cringe a bit to hear him say her name as if they were old friends, distant family friends, “I know that me coming here is not ideal, nor is it what you wanted,”
“It’s not, solely because I thought you were dead,” Clío replied, Ikaris physically cringing a bit at how Clío both sounded casual and a bit stern, “We all thought you were dead, and the distrust and disdain that we all feel against you goes far more than simply coming here and seeing all of us,”
“I know,” Ikaris said in a hesitant sigh, Clío keeping her eyes on the back of his head as he was still facing away from her.  Clío had to remain in one spot, no matter how tempting it was for her to simply open her mouth and make his ears bleed.  She wanted to, so badly she wanted for all that he did not just against her but her family.
“I can’t ask you to forgive me, but I can only ask for you to….listen,” Ikaris said in hesitance, finally looking over his shoulder to stare at Clío.  His eyes, always bright and filled with devotion and dedication throughout the centuries on Earth, make Clío only remember the simpler times when they are all together as a group and as a family.  Ikaris was light-hearted at times, having on Sersi’s every word, and wished to lead the group in vigor. Clío saw him laugh and grin, saw him with joy and fascination for humans, yet now all she saw was pain.  Pain and remorse.
Good.
“What I did to you all was wrong,” He said simply, “What I was attempting to do for the sake of Arishem and what he wished for Tiamat and this planet was no right.  I was too blinded and too devoted to what he wanted for me to see what was already growing and thriving, and because of that I know forgiveness will not come lightly from all of you,”
Clío said nothing, knowing well that if she did say something to add to his statement would be more bitter and less meaningful.  Ikaris wanted her to listen, and she was going to do just that as Ikaris looked forward again and back out at the horses.  With some hesitance, Clío took a few steps to stand close by him.  Seeing this side of him was unusual, even with the circumstances of him being at her home that used to belong to Ajak and thinking he was dead all this time.
“I don’t wish to be asked back in any of your lives, I shouldn’t be.  I merely wish to make amends and to simply say…say I’m sorry,” Ikaris ended, his voice now lost in the wind as Clío was watching his profile from her spot.  Taking in a long breath, she did a quick turn behind her to see the second-story window that was Melody’s nursery.  Druig was there at the window, peering down at Clío with his look of determination and uneasiness.  Clío already knew he was going to watch the entire conversation, she would be a fool to think otherwise.  But to see the stare he was giving Clío, the worry in his eyes, it pained Clío to see it on her husband.
“Ikaris,” She said his name, looking away from Druig and back to where Ikaris was.  He was waiting for the rant, for the pain in her voice, and for the scream that she would give him, “I know you know how much damage you caused.  You’ve heard it from Sersi before you came here, and knowing Sersi she didn’t hold back.  But, I have to tell you what you did to me on that beach,”
Ikaris looked at her with some worry as Clío gave him an intense gaze.  The simmering pain that was always there under her skin, even after leaving that beach and having this new life with Druig the pain never went away.  The nightmare was vivid and the memories never faded.  Ikaris had to know the headspace Clío was in, how she never felt intense anger before ever on Earth.
“You almost took the one thing that was good in my life away from me,” She explained in a cool tone, staying leveled and calm as Ikaris kept his eyes on her, “No matter your own disagreement with Druig and what you two went through together in the past, he was the love of my life.  When you threw him into the ground, I never felt so much anger in my life towards another person.  At that moment, I wanted to kill you with my bare hands,”
Once again Ikaris said nothing, but Clío could tell he was shaken a bit from what she said to him and yet how calm she was at the same time.
“Part of me still wants to hate you and kill you…but I can’t,” Clío admitted to him in a bitter tone, looking away from him quickly and taking in a solid breath, “I know….I know Ajak wouldn’t want that for me, for any of us,”
Maybe Clío did hit a nerve with him since Ikaris almost shuttered at the mention of Ajak.  Ajak and Ikaris were close, Ikaris being the second in command and seeing Ajak are more of a teacher.  So hearing that he killed her because of her change of heart with the humans, it felt like a low blow for Clio.
“I can’t forgive you,” Clío said to him softly, fiddling with her fingers in front of her and remaining still, almost too still that the wind could come through and knock her over, “At least not now.  It’s still too soon and too early for me to do seem like that, but I am willing to be civil with you.  For the sake of my family and my daughter, I can try,”
Clío has never seen Ikaris snap his head over in her direction so quickly before.  It was almost like whiplash, and his eyes were as big as saucers as Clío gave her a solemn look.
“A daughter?” He asked, his voice high and almost in disbelief as Clío kept her gaze on him, “You….you had a child?”
Clío only nodded, letting the news sink in under Ikaris’s skin as he blinked and looked down for a solid moment.  She didn’t wish to reveal this kind of news to him in the first place, Clío thinking he wasn’t worthy of Ikaris knowing about the one true blessing that came to her and Druig.  The true joy that Clío never thought she would ever have, she was going to shelter it for as long as she should. But now that Ikaris knew, it felt like Clío was bearing part of her soul to him.
“How is it possible?” Ikaris asked, mostly to himself but to Clío as she could tell he was still wrapping his head around the news, “Can we….can we have children,”
“Well I did, so I guess that answers that question,” Clío replied with a shrug of her shoulders.  Ikaris paused again, the wheels turning in his head over and over as Clío was giving him an uneasy gaze.  He then looked at her with a hint of confusion.
“With Druig?” He asked.
Clío’s glare hardened, “Are you kidding me?”
Ikaris’s mouth went shut and he looked a bit sheepish.  Clío couldn’t help but roll her eyes while Ikaris was still lost in thought.  She walked over to stand right next to Ikaris, eyeing him with carefulness and still with a hint of hesitance as Ikaris was watching the horses again.  Maybe she was compelled to tell him the last piece of advice she wanted to give him.  So, thinking of her new family and the new life she had going for her, Clío gave Ikaris a gentle yet stern look, the kind of look that Ajak would give when she was alive and needing to be the leader at a crossroads.
“Ikaris, we can civil from here on out.  For the sake of not just our family, but for Sersi.  We both love her enough to respect her not cause waves,” Clío explained to him, Ikaris watching her with a small sense of comfort since she was no longer showing any signs of anger to him.
“But I will say this,” Clío continued, Ikaris sensing the tone in her and keeping his eyes on Clío, “I will keep an eye on you from here on out.  If I get word of you doing anything against our family, even a whisper that you had any involvement in bringing someone in our family pain or discomfort, I promise you on the life of my daughter, I will personally bring you the kind of pain that you wish would kill you.”
It felt like Clío sealed it like a vow in the tone she was using, not raising her voice or getting in his face, but showing in her stance.  Maybe Ikaris could read it and sense it since he was staying so still and not one inch of cockiness was there on his face like in the past.
“Now, I won’t kill you,” Clío reminded him, “But I will inflict the same amount of pain that I felt when you almost took Druig away from me, and that is a promise.  Do we have an understanding?”
Not saying a word, Ikaris nodded his head.  Clío knew it got through to him, no matter if the others were telling him to mind his own as well and to leave them all alone for the time being.  It felt like Clío had no at stake, more to consider and to weigh in simply because of her child.  Melody has her priority now, and she will be for the rest of Clío’s life on Earth.  And she knew too that Melody was Druig’s priority as well, they both won’t be compromised.
“So,” Clio said, the neutral tone was no longer there and that sense of marking her place with him was not a threat, she finally gave a small smile to him for the first time since he arrived, “Would you like to meet my daughter?”
Ikaris looked a bit shocked by the question, yet Clío remained calm.  She could only picture Ajak right there next to her, not wishing to see any one of them quarreling with one another, even after all that happened.  She always had the heart of the group, a bigger heart than Clío could ever reach herself.  They have all learned from Ajak throughout the centuries, and now that she was gone they all had to somehow keep going and represent her.  Clío had to do the same, even to Ikaris.
Clío looked from Ikaris up to the second-floor window again, seeing her husband there still watching the pair of them from his spot behind the window glass.  Clío knew Druig would never let Ikaris anywhere near Melody, he was already protective of her when it came to strangers, and rightfully so.  But with Ikaris, there was a thick line that was drawn instantly.  She didn’t blame him, not with how they both interacted with each other in the past, and the bad blood that was still evident.
However, Clío knew that there was a need to move forward and not backward.
Druig looked from Ikaris to Clío, almost reading her eyes and mind and what she was thinking.  He merely nodded once and left the window, Clío inwardly sighing in relief.
“You’d let me…meet your child?” Ikaris asked Clío as she looked from the window where Druig was to him.
“I’m still debating,” Clío cooly replied, “But I know you’d be a fool to try anything while I’m here.  And trust me, Ikaris, Druig would rather face a Deviant head-on by himself than let you anywhere near our daughter,”
Ikaris cringed a bit, the backdoor opening of the farmhouse, and footsteps were heard.  Both Clío and Ikaris looked over, watching Druig approach the pair of them with a sleeping Melody swaddled in his arms in Sersi’s blanket that was just about to be too small for her.  Her head against his chest, her dark brown hair soft with ringlets along the blanket and Druig’s shirt as he stood a bit away.  Clío walked over, not noticing how big Ikaris’s eyes were seeing their child and how she was real, no fantasy or piece of fiction.
Clio stood in front of Druig, though his eyes were still on the visitor with a death glare while he held his daughter protectively.  Placing her hands on his arms to get his attention, Clío kissed his cheek and pressed her head against his.
“He won’t do anything, Druig,” She whispered to him, “I promise,”
“I know,” He replied, pushing his forehead against hers slightly as he took in a long breath and stared directly at his wife, “But I’m not leavin’ you with him.”
Who was she to argue with Druig?  She knew he was going to stay there the entire time, not just for the sake of Melody but for Clío.  He would never trust his wife being there with Ikaris, although she could stand her own ground.  He then placed Melody in Clío’s arms, who whimpered a bit from being moved in her sleep.  Clío hushed her softly, Melody’s head lulling over to Clío’s neck and going right back to sleep in her mother’s embrace.
Clío finally turned to face Ikaris, seeing the look of amazement on his face as she walked slowly over to him.  She tried to remain composed and poised since she was holding her little girl, drilling her eyes into him to silently tell him not to try anything.  Of course, the mothering side of her was screaming at her to stop, to walk back to Druig, and to get Melody back in the house.  But maybe it felt like Ajax’s spirit was next to her, a hand on her arm to keep her going and to encourage her to make that bridge repair and growth.
“Ikaris,” She said, standing right in front of him and giving him a kind stare, “This is our daughter: Melody Sersi,”
Ikaris looked from Clío to her sleeping daughter, seeing her bell-shaped mouth slightly open and her perfect cheeks against her mother’s neck.  Clío could see the shift in his eyes and gaze, almost like he was discovering humans for the first time all over again.  Maybe he was, or at least the product of two Eternals.  It was almost the same look Clío had when she found out she was pregnant, or the look Druig had when he held Melody for the first time.
Ikaris was quiet, but she knew he was just as moved from seeing her little girl as he looked from Melody to Clío again, “Melody Sersi?”
“We had to name her after one of the strongest leaders’s we’ve ever known,”  Clío explained, Ikaris looking rather moved from the explanation, “And she took care of her when she was born.”
Clío never minded mentioning Sersi to Ikaris since she knew that relationship was beyond done. Sersi was happy with Dane in London, insanely happy and being the new voice of reason for the Eternals as they were recovering from the near Emergence.  Ikaris was no longer a threat to Sersi or any of them, Melody a mere product of the happiness that Clío and Druig had, and the rest of the Eternals found a new sense of love in their neice too.
“She’s…she’s healthy?” Ikaris asked, not in concern but in curiosity as Clío nodded.
“Healthy as ever,” she replied.
“Is she an….is she like us?” Ikaris asked Clío, still looking at Melody with such fascination.
“We don’t know,” Clío replied, “She’s too young for us to know if she’s an Eternal,”
Clío could see Ikaris barely move his hand in the direction of Melody, who was still sleeping away and not realizing what was going on around her.  His hand hovered for a moment, but he stopped and looked past Clío to Druig.  Clío didn’t have to look back to know what kind of gaze Druig was giving him, she felt it in her spot on the dusty ground and she sensed it in the air.
A silent warning: Don’t touch my daughter.
Ikaris let his hand go back to his side again, tearing his eyes away from Druig behind Clío to her again.  It felt like this was more than enough for Clío to take with Ikaris there at their home, She didn’t need to make giant leaps to have him back in their lives, only small baby steps. Maybe it was also all that Ikaris needed: to apologize and see that they all moved on without him.
Clío, Druig, and the others watched as Ikaris, Sersi, Kingo, and Sprite drove off in the truck a few minutes later, the group saying goodbye to one another as Ikaris waited by the truck.  Clío was glad to see him drive away, being able to release a breath that she may have been holding in for far too long as Phastos and Thena were occupying Melody.  Once they saw the truck go over the hill and was out of sight, Clío felt Druig wrap his arms around her again and hold her close.  It wasn’t as before when she was angry and wanted to rip his arms off, but she was mostly sad and releasing that grief she had in for so long.
Druig silently held her, inwardly hating Ikaris for causing her pain and making her feel so many things at once.  Druig was glad he was the one to talk to Ikaris first and give Clío some time to collect her thoughts.  Druig would take on Ikaris for Clío, anytime and anywhere.  He remembered talking to him out in front of the house, both of them being civil with one another since they knew the others were watching.
“Druig, I know you’re upset—“
“It’s not me you have to worry about from here on out, Ikaris.  I’m debating whether or not to let Clío come back out here and kill you here and now from all the pain you caused her,”
So as Makkari, Phastos, and Thena left the farmhouse after dinner, and Melody was put to bed by Druig, Clío sat on her bed and was wrapped in one of the wraps that was given to her by Sersi as a Mother’s Day gift.  The window was propped open to let in the breeze, Clío able to hear some of the crickets that were nestled along the wildflowers near the farmhouse while Druig snuck into the room and closed the door quietly behind him.
“I should have done more to him,” Clío muttered, Druig paused as he was watching her with a hint of concern while her eyes were gazing out the window.  Druig walked over to sit next to her on the bed, pressing his shoulder against her as he made his presence known.
“As much as I want to agree with you, I’m glad you didn’t,” Druig admitted to her, seeing Clío finally look over at him to show the tiredness in her eyes.  Druig laced their hands together and kissed the back of her hand, “You’re better than that, Clío.  You had more strength than any of us combined since we all wanted to kill him for what he’s done to us and to our family, but you had the strength to let him go.  I don’t think I would have done that ever, and I’m proud of you,”
Clío said nothing, absorbing all what Druig said.  He hummed and kissed the side of her head, taking the wraps off of Clío before helping her lay on her side on the bed.  After pulling the quilt over the pair of them, Druig held her in his arms as she was silent but holding him just as tight.
Druig stayed awake until Clio was deeply asleep, stroking her red hair with his fingers and feeling her chest going up and down against his side.  He wished all that pain that Clio felt because of Ikaris would melt away, all of that pain that was nestled inside of her would float In the wind and never return.  But he was also glad that they both talked, that Clio said her peace and Ikaris did too.
Peace would come once again, Druig would make sure of that
The End

Circus- Random Title fic thing idk what this is bahaha
A/N: YES STELLA! I HAD to write a little list about it instead of a few things!
Snow White
Tumblr media
So...Melody using her ability has become a literal circus at their Oregon Home
Clío and Druig would find birds flying their home constantly, not thinking about it at first since birds were reasonably common at their coastal home
But waking up one early Saturday morning to a hoard of wildlife at their front door was not what they expected.
Rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, moles, deer, foxes, and even a pair of bears were on their front lawn, sitting amongst one another and enjoying each other's company.
It felt like the circus was on their front lawn on an early Saturday morning.
After the shock disappeared, Druig and Clío knew the culprit. Druig looked at the stairway behind him and inhaled deeply.
"Melody Sersi! Did you summon the entire forest to our front lawn?!" He yelled up the stairs.
A pause was heard, then Melody tentatively answered at the top of the stairs, "Yes?"
"Oh dear," Clío hummed.
Since then, there were ground rules for wildlife near the house: Melody had to use the meadow behind the house if she wanted to interact with any of the animals, she had to be in eye and ear sight with at least one parent, and no animals were allowed within 6 feet of the home because of the boys still being a pinch too small.
Also, Druig didn't want any animals eating out of the vegetable garden he worked so hard on for the past year.
Melody took those rules to heart, making sure she was only using the meadow behind their home for a little bit of time. Druig and Clío would see her tend to the smaller creatures with ease, including baby rabbits and birds with their chicks.
Clío had a moment of panic when a bear and her cub were with Melody in the meadow. But after watching for a split second, Clío realized that the mother bear was napping while Melody was playing with the baby bear, who was cooing at Melody and wrestling gently with her.
"You weren't scared of that bear, Petal?" Clío asked Melody later that night as she was tucking her in bed.
"No, momma! The mommy bear was really nice and that was her only baby! She needed to take a nap and I told her I would play with her baby while she took a nap, just like what Da does when you need a nap!" Melody replied happily, Clío giggling as she kissed her goodnight.
When the Eternal family would come to visit, they were both surprised and impressed with Melody and her charm on the local animals.
"So why is her nickname Snow White again?" Sprite had to ask as she came to visit one week in the Spring. Clío and Druig eyed each other and then pointed to the back window in the kitchen. Sprite looked, seeing her niece talking to a small deer family and the baby deer nuzzling against her hand. Sprite's eyes went wide.
"Holy Shit!"
"Hey! Langauge in front of your nephews!"
Thena loved seeing Melody use her ability, looking at her niece with pride as Melody would tend to some of the smaller creatures.
"A true warrior tends to those who are vulnerable," Thena told her once as they sat together on the porch to watch the sunset over the ocean, "You loved those animals with everything in you, little one. They'll love you in return,"
"This is the coolest thing ever!" Jack would say in glee as he sat with Finn and Melody while some squirrels and chipmunks would crawl all over them and in their laps. Phastos would watch with a hint of nervousness, though he trusted his niece with her powers.
"Jack, you're taking a bath tonight after playing with those little rodents!"
"Aww, Dad!"
Kingo would park his car a bit farther away so the birds would damage his rental car.
"Please don't ruin the exotic rental!"
"You're fault for getting the expensive rental out here in rural Oregon!"
"Oh shut it, Makkari!"
But Druig and Clío saw one heartfelt moment with their youngest child Oliver. Being the quieter twin and more on the meek side, Oliver was more of an observer and watcher on the sidelines. But he loved seeing Melody interact and play with the animals, wishing to go out there himself and see it first hand. Yet he was afraid, too timid to take the leap.
"Come on, Oli. Don't be afraid!" Melody explained as she pointed to the large family of rabbits playing together in the meadow, "They're really nice, I told them all about you! Here, take my hand," Melody laced her fingers with her brother's hand, looking at her parents for permission.
Druig nodded, knowing Melody wouldn't let anything happen to Oliver. Clío watched with a hint of hesitance as her daughter lead her little brother to the small meadow, where a little of rabbits were jumping and frolicking through the high wildflowers and bushes.
They both sat down together and immediately a few rabbits came to Meldoy and right into their lap.
At first, Oliver was scared and nervous. But the smallest rabbit hopped into his lap and nibbled on his shirt, Oliver giggled and shrieked in laughter.
Clío and Druig never thought they would have a Disney Princess as a daughter, let alone Snow White herself

Forgive Part. 1
Summary - Druig and Clío get a visit from a ghost of their past.
Tumblr media
Warnings - this one is mostly angst, so sorry :)
Author's Note - This is in an alternative timeline with Druig, Clío, and Melody, taking place when Melody's still a baby. I just got this idea of Druig and Clío getting a visit from someone from their past.
This is part of the Melody Series, but not officially since it's in a different alternative timeline.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"When are they gonna be here?"
"Less than a few minutes,"
Druig was skimming through a book on his couch as Phastos, Thena, and Makkari were in his living room.  Makkari was next to him, touching up one of her trinkets from her recent visit to Egypt with her nimble and fast fingers, Thena was pacing on the living room floor almost like a predator looking for her new prey to eat, and Phastos was strumming away with his fingers against his legs. Outwardly, Druig was nonchalant and going over another passage in a book that he got from Makkari last year for Christmas.
Inwardly, he was confused as hell and panicking.
Sersi asked for all the Eternals to meet, an Emergency meeting no doubt.  She didn't want to do it over FaceTime or on the phone, it had to be in person.  Since the farmhouse was considered neutral territory, Sersi asked both Druig and Clío to have the meeting at the farmhouse.  Of course, it was no problem, not to Clío and Druig.  But the way Sersi seemed on the phone, Druig knew something was up.  Maybe it wasn't serious, or maybe it was going to be vastly important.  If it involved Melody, she would if told Druig or Clío right away.  It might have involved her since Arishem was still at large and still had no prior knowledge of her or her existence.  That was still in the back of Druig's mind.
But Sersi said it didn't involve his daughter, yet the meeting still had to happen.
Makkari and Thena touched down with the Domo and with Phastos in tow 30 minutes prior, getting some time with their niece before she went down for a nap in the nursery.  Druig asked them what was going on, and they too had no clue.  It wasn't like Sersi to leave them in the lurch with important information, which was the first red flag.  But Druig let it slide, watching Clio go up the stairs with a sleepy 8-month-old Melody to put her down for a nap.
"Please tell me I'm not the only one who is a bit nervous that we're all meeting here?" Phastos asked aloud in the room, Druig looking up briefly and watching Phastos tap his fingers nervously.
I'm sure whatever it is, it's important. Makkari signed to him with a reassuring smile as she polished her trinket again while hunched over on the couch.
"Maybe it's Arishem," Thena hummed as her eyes were trained on the plains outside the farmhouse.  The others, including Druig, looked over at her as her eyes were training along the horizon, "We haven't heard from him since the Emergence,"
"If it was about Arishem, she would have told us immediately," Druig explained from his spot, placing his book down to get up from the couch and walk over to the warrior.  He placed his hands in his back pockets, stretching out his back for a moment as his eyes too scanned the area for anything coming up the road "This isn't about him.  It's somethin' else,"
"What else could there be?" Thena asked Druig, giving him a knowing look now he stared at her back.  That was the question: why were they all being summoned to their home?  Druig was about to answer when the softest sound of a truck was heard coming up the road.  Makkari sped over, Phastos on her heels as all four of the Eternals were watching out the front window.  A large black truck was coming up the road, picking up dust behind it as it stopped some feet away from the front porch.  No one moved for a second, making a sinking feeling come over all of them with questions as to what was about to happen and what could occur.
Sersi got out of the driver's seat first, looking rather perplexed and a bit uneasy as she slammed the door shut.  After Sersi was Kingo from the passenger's side, then Sprite from one side in the backseat.  All three of them didn't look happy to be there, nor did they look sad.  They looked….conflicted or torn.
Druig's intuition was ringing: something was up.
"Makkari, can you go check on Clío and Mel for me?" Druig asked as his eyes were still on the four Eternals outside the black truck.  Something was telling him to have an extra eye on his wife and daughter, knowing that Clío was beyond capable of protecting their child but it was better to be safe than sorry.  Makkari nodded her head and sped up the stairs, her Eternal energy was floating behind her to make the trail up the steps.
"What are you feeling?" Phastos asked behind Druig as Druig rolled his shoulders.  He saw it on their faces outside, how they were regretting coming here or holding something back.  If it was any normal meeting or visit they would be rushing to the farmhouse, giving out hugs, showering Melody with affection, and chatting with Druig and Clío.  Yet now, it seemed as if they were afraid to be far from the truck.
"Let's go ask," Druig replied, moving to go out the front door.  He heard Thena and Phastos behind him as he pushed open the screen door and walked out onto the front porch. Sersi was looking right at Druig, and he could see the clear evidence in her eyes that she was worried about something, almost holding back. The screen door slammed behind Druig as he was still looking at Sersi directly, not losing eye contact with her while Kingo and Sprite were behind her.  They too looked uneasy and a bit wavered.
"So… I take it this is no regular hang out?" Phastos asked behind Druig with a hint of uneasiness.  Kingo awkwardly cleared his throat as Sersi spoke.
"Where's Clío?" She asked Druig, who shifted in his stance from the mention of his wife.
"With Melody," Druig replied calmly, but he felt the tension rising in the air, "Is there a problem, Sersi?"
"Druig," Thena said in a soft warning behind him.  Druig wasn't going to back down, not when his family was showing up at his home.  Not when his wife was mentioned by Sersi, and not when he knew the vibes were already off.
"We need to come to a mutual agreement," Sersi said calmly to the group, but Druig knew she was mostly talking to him.  Druig eyed her, not knowing what was going on and wishing he could probe into her mind to read her thoughts.
"Sersi, what's going on?" Phastos questioned her as Druig was still waiting for some explanation.  Sprite and Kingo eyed Sersi, who took in a long breath.  Druig trusted Sersi, not only as their new leader but as a friend and a member of his family.  He had respect for her for leading the Uni-Mind and stopping the Emergence from happening.
"I had someone come visit me at the University a week ago," Sersi explained to the group, Sprite shifting back on her feet with some reluctance on her face as Kingo was still keeping his head down and Sersi continued, "Up until now I thought….I thought I wouldn't see him again.  But he insisted on not just to see but to see all of us….to make amends with everyone,"
Before Druig could ask her who she was talking about, the backdoor of the truck opened.  No one said anything at first, and it felt like time was getting slower and slower as the boots landed on the floor and the door closed.
Druig's blood went cold and his stare went hard.
"The hell…" Phastos said in a low tone.  Druig could see out of the corner of his eyes Thena's eyes going cold and almost rigid as her stance was stiff and almost defensive.  But Druig, his eyes were zoned on the person that was walking up to stand next to Sersi. All Druig could think about was rage, rage, and immense anger that made him make fists against his sides.  The shock was there too, thinking that he would never see this person again as his eyes slightly went wide and his breath was lost for a solid second.
Ikaris.  There and in the flesh.
Was this a sick trick?  Was Druig having some kind of hallucination and replaying those nightmares he would suffer through at night?  Or maybe this was some kind of punishment that Druig, as well as the others, needed to suffer through for stopping the Emergence?  But he was there, standing almost awkwardly and maybe feeling out of place.  He looked real, wearing fitted pants and boots along with a t-shirt and flannel over the top of it.  Something seemed….off from not just seeing Ikaris there and alive, but in how he was standing.   Druig recalled Ikaris standing stoic and strong in the past as if nothing could harm him or bring him down with a single strike.  Yet now, being next to Sersi, he looked weak.
Druig was angry, beyond angry.
"I know this is a lot," Sersi started to explain.
"That is the understatement of the century, Sersi," Phastos said in a low tone, his voice sounding angry.
"If we can remain calm about this—" Sersi tried again, but Thena spoke up this time with a bit of bark in her tone.
"That is asking too much for the likes of him and what he has done," Thena snarled, making Sersi look then over at Druig for something from him.  Druig said nothing, yet all he wanted to scream and shout was trapped inside inwardly and threatened to come out.  He had so many things he wanted to say to Ikaris, so many things he wanted to do to the very person that not only help try to end the lives of the humans on the planet but almost killed him in the process too.  For Druig, it was a bit more personal.
He hated Ikaris, more than reason.
"Druig—" Sersi was about to speak to him, but Druig spoke up.
"No," He replied, his eyes drilling into Ikaris and not tearing his gaze away for a singular moment as Ikaris was staring at him.  There was no cockiness in his stare, not like before when Ikaris seem so confident in who he was in what kind of rank he had in the group.  This time it seemed more uneasy, almost like he was faltering with his confidence.
"I just want to talk—" Ikaris finally spoke, his voice was an instant reminder to Druig of the last thing Ikaris ever said to him on that beach.
I should have done this centuries ago!
"That didn't work out well last time, did it?" Druig replied in a snarl.
"Druig, please," Sersi said to Druig, looking rather conflicted herself.
"Please what, Sersi?  He wanted the Emergence to happen and he wanted to destroy this planet," Druig said in a bit, everyone going quiet as he was still looking at Ikaris dead on with no sign of backing down or retreating, "All for Arishem, right?  Was it for Arishem for him to kill Ajak too or even Gilgamesh for that matter?"
It didn't matter that those two names struck a sour chord in the others, all of whom averted their eyes then.  Druig didn't care at that moment when he had plenty to say to the very Eternal who betrayed all of his family.
"Was it for Arishem to try and kill me?" Druig said in a lower tone to Ikaris alone, "And for nearly makin' my wife, the love of my fucking life, a widow?"
Behind Druig, as if on cue, he heard the screen door opening and closing. The sound of the screen door banging shut rang in the air.
Druig tore his eyes away with reluctance, seeing Clío and Makkari walking out of the farmhouse. Clío looked rather cheerful, not seeing Ikaris at first as she was about to skip over to the rest of the group as she usually would.  Druig was instantly on high alert, not realizing that his wife was about to see red.  His eyes were on her, seeing her about to open her mouth to greet them when she stopped abruptly.  The warmth in her eyes went dark and bleak, the smile was wiped off her face.
Her entire demeanor changed within an instant as she looked eyes with Ikaris.
Druig studied his wife for a brief moment, seeing her standing in front of the farmhouse.  Makkari was right behind her, just as heated in seeing Ikaris there amongst the family with her eyes drilling into him.  Druig knew how she fought against Ikaris with her speed on that beach, she too hated what he did to Druig.  But that was nothing compared to the pain Clío felt when she saw Druig being pelted to the ground.
Druig knew, they'd talked about it plenty of times both before and after Melody was born.  Clío had to relive that pain sometimes in her sleep or when her mind would wander, and Druig had nightmares for weeks and weeks on end of hearing her screams radiate in the open air as he hit the ground.
If Druig hated Ikaris for what happened, Clío's despised him.
"Clio," Sersi said in a weary tone, Druig knowing instantly that Clío was not thinking of anything else but Ikaris in front of her.  With that look in her eyes, Druig knew it and was already sensing the worst to come.  Clío walked over, stalking more than walking, as she beelined to Ikaris.
"Clío, wait," Druig said to her as he reached to grab her.  She shoved his hand off, eye not leaving Ikaris, and was in front of him within seconds.  Before anyone could stop her, before Ikaris could even try, Clío reared her hand back and made a fist.
A punch flew, and Ikaris fell to the ground with a yelp.  No one moved.
"Shit!" Sprite said in shock as Clío put her fist down and stood over Ikaris, sneering down at him as Sersi was about to stop her.  Kingo grabbed Sersi's arm, pulling her back with a grim look on his face as Druig stood still.  Part of him wanted to stop her, knowing that it was not in her nature to be this violent against someone else.  There was no bad bone in her body, and to have her in such a state would be against her very nature.
Yet the other part of Druig was glad she punch him, merely because he wanted to first.
"Did you expect me to scream and make your ears bleed?  Don't you dare tempt me!" Clío said in a cold tone to Ikaris, home was looking up at her with a hint of fear in his eyes.  Druig was surprised that Ikaris didn't retaliate, let alone rebuff against her since he would do that in the past. At least against Druig he would.  But now witnessing Ikaris cowering a bit on the ground, and his wife perched over him and ready to strike again with rage and pain in her green eyes, Druig had to defuse this fast.
"Come with me, Clío.  Come on," Druig said to her in her ear as he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her away.  She resisted a bit, still going with Druig as he lead her back into the farmhouse without a single look behind him. No one said a syllable as Druig lead Clío away from the scene.  But Druig could see it on the faces of Phastos, Makkari, and Thena: they were glad Clío punched Ikaris out.
Duig was glad too.
Once they were inside the living room of their home, Druig finally looked at Clío and saw the rage on her face as Makkiar followed right behind them, closing the door quickly.
"Hey, hey look at me, baby," Druig said in a hushed tone to Clío, who seemed still riled up from what she did and who she saw.  He couldn't go against it, not with all that she said she felt that very day on the beach.  She had to replay it instantly at that moment from seeing Ikaris at their home, bursting the small bubble that they had for as long as they'd been at the farmhouse.  This was their haven, their place of peace that was built around the new life they wanted and now their infant daughter.
"I want him dead," Clío growled as Druig framed her face in his hands, Druig feeling her slightly shake as she kept going in a raid place, "I hate him, I hate him so much—"
"I got you, I got you right here," Druig said in a rushed manner then, pulling her in his arms and feeling her clutch him like a lifeline.   Druig wished to take that pain that she was feeling, all of that anger and rage that has been festering inside of her since the day of the Emergence.  Yet at the time they both thought they would never see him again, that the Emergence was far behind them and they had the future together to look forward to.  Not this, not seeing her literally shaking with anger towards him.  Druig knew deep down why she was so angry, and he was too.  He was just as angry he was there in their home and wishing to talk as if nothing happened.
Druig could see Makkari over Clío's shoulder, the look of concern on her face as she was watching her two friends consoling one another.  The soft sounds of Melody crying from the nursery on the second floor were heard, Clío still sniffling into Druig's hold as Druig signed with one hand to Makkari.
Please go check on Mel, Kari.
Makkari nodded and gave a soft smile, walking lightly and without a sound over to the stairs and up to their nursery and leaving Druig and Clío alone.
"I know you're angry with him," Druig started to say to Clío, who shook her head violently and slightly pushed herself away from Druig to stare at him with anger there in her eyes.  Tears streaked down her face, flushness on her cheeks and her eyes were still not warm and calm as they used to be.
"I'm not angry, Druig," She said too calmly, though her voice was wavy and showing some emotion behind it, "I'm furious with him!  I despise him, I….I'm in a rage because of him!"
"Clío—" Druig started, but Clío pointed a shaky finger out the window in the same direction where the rest of the Eternals were still talking to each other in hushed sounds by Sersi's truck.
"HE ALMOST KILLED YOU!" She yelled, not too loud to have her voice vibrate with her ability but loud enough to have the others outside the house hear and look in concern.  Thank goodness they couldn't see inside from where they were, but now they could hear the rage in her voice as clear as day, "I can't look at him and remain calm when he almost took you away from me!  He….he nearly made me a widow and single parent in that goddamn moment!"
That was a soft spot in Druig when he heard that, nearly squinting from hearing that last sentence.  Of course, neither Druig nor Clío knew that Clío was pregnant with Melody at the time of the Emergence.  It was far too early in the pregnancy to even be detected, so when they found out later they both were terrified by the thought of things could have gone south.  Druig had nightmares about it, how Clío could have gotten hurt, or if she would have lost the baby.  But when Clío mentioned the thought of Druig leaving them behind, that was a low blow for Druig.  He would never wish to leave her in any way, and it was a true horror that she would have had to raise Melody on her own without him.
So he knew that pain deep down.
"I know, believe me I know," Druig reassured her as he wiped the tears away with his thumb, "I hate that thought too, okay?  But we're here now, I'm here and I'm not goin' anywhere without you or Melody, you hear me?"
Clio sighed and nodded her head, calming down a pinch. Druig kissed her forehead, rubbing her arms and then reaching down to squeeze their hands together soothingly.  Druig looked outside again at the group, Ikaris still nursing his jaw here Clío punched him and looked rather remorseful as the others were talking to him and almost scolding him themselves.
"Seris brought him here to talk with us, and as much I want to punch him out too for what he did to us, we need to at least hear him out," Druig explained, Clío shooting him a look as if he slapped her himself, "Just to talk, nothing else."
"I don't trust him, Druig!" Clío countered back.
"But I trust Sersi," Druig explained calmly, Clío's mouth shutting again as she looked out the window at Sersi who was in a heated talk with Phastos and Thena.  Druig looked too, seeing how Sersi was already in her leader mode and trying her best to talk to the others.  Druig did trust Sersi, he saw her as the leader of the Eternals and he knew her intentions for their family were always for the better.  It was why their daughter shared her name, and he knew deep down that not only Sersi would never cross Druig or Clío, but Melody was a priority to Sersi too.
"Sersi knows what happened and where we stand when it comes to him," Druig reminded Clío as she was watching him, the heat in her eyes dimming very slightly but not completely gone, "We're all in a better place without him, but now that he's here we need to listen to him at least and hear what he has to say.  We don't need to forgive him or have him back in our lives, but we need to talk to him."
If Druig would have it his way, he would send Ikaris packing and make sure he was out of the picture, mostly because he would never have the opportunity to meet his child and see the life Druig built with Clío.  Ikaris took far too much from them already, including murdering Ajak and the death of Gilgamesh at the hands of Deviants in his village.  There was too much against Ikaris to fix that bridge that was already destroyed.
"Let me talk to him first," Druig said to Clío, giving her a small smile to give her some sense of peace, "You go up and be with Melody for a bit while I talk to him and try to figure things out for him before you two talk, okay?"
It took her a moment to react and answer, seeing her look at the window one more time at the group and how they were all still huddled together and talking in hushed tones.  Her eyes were on Ikaris, the small heat in her orbs was evident but thanks to Druig they were cooled down slightly.  She sighed, nodding her head and Druig kissed her cheeks immediately.  He watched her go up the stairs, stiffness in her neck and she was clutching the railing as she ascended the stairs.  Druig watched, and as she was finally out of his vision, he rolled his shoulders and took in a long breath.
He now had to check in with what he was going to say to Ikaris, all that he wanted to say and how he wanted to say it. It was more than just what he did to Druig on that beach and what he could have done to Clío too, but the years and years of tension and resentment between the pair of them.  The split thoughts and philosophies of humans and their importance on Earth, their viewpoints on what it meant to be Eternals, amongst other things.  But he also had to be careful with what he was going to say: he had his wife and baby daughter to think about.
Walking out of the farmhouse again, the others looked over immediately and saw Druig take his time walking down the porch and over to their cluster.  He could read it on their faces as he approached them: fear, anxiety, anticipation, anger.  He knew they all had their own relationship with Ikaris and how hurt they were by the betrayal.
But he had more to lose and more to tell him.
"Let's give those two space to talk," Kingo suggested in hesitance, the others nodding in agreement and with a hint of awkwardness.  Each one was walking over to the farmhouse now, giving Druig a reassuring look as they passed him.  Phastos patting his shoulder, Thena squeezing his arm, Kingo giving him a soft smile and Sprite staring at him with a hint of uncertainty.  The last one was Sersi, who passed next to him and gave him a hard stare.
"Druig—" She started with him as Druig was keeping his look on Ikaris.
"We're goin' to talk and that's it, you have my word," Druig reassured Sersi, still giving her that hint of respect that he had for her as the leader of the Eternals.  She sighed, knowing that he wouldn't push on his word with her, and left the two of them behind.  Druig was left there with Ikaris, who was leaning against the truck.  Druig could read on his face that Ikarris didn't want to talk to him either, but that sense of worry and uneasiness was there too.  He had no choice but to talk to the very being who almost murdered him, and he had to be careful about him since he had more at stake than he did before.
Finally, it was just Druig and Ikaris, silence was left between them for the smallest of a moment as Druig watched Ikaris carefully and with a hint of anger there on his face. Ikaris was watching him back, not as cold as he used to be back when they were working together and mere acquaintances.  But now…. he looked….afraid.
Druig inhaled slowly, hands still in his pockets as he finally spoke to Ikaris, "Let's talk,"

A/N - I got this idea from @a-lumos-in-the-nox in how the family would celebrate Father's Day together since the twins are a bit older and Melody is nine
This is part of the Melody Universe
Summary - It's Father's Day at the Eternal Household

Warnings - Just some fluff

Even in deep sleep Druig knew the sounds of his home.
The creaking floorboards when walked on, the wind chimes that were gifted to the family by Sersi and Dane as house warming gift swaying in the ocean wind, and even the familiar feet paddling into his room and onto the king sized bed.
He knew who it was, and he grinned while still asleep.
Two little hands touching his shoulders and nose, Druig grunting a bit as soft giggles were heard above him.  Another set of steps heard, bigger and gentle as they rushed into the room.
“Finn! Be gentle with your dad, honey,” A voice cooed with urgency as Druig finally opened his eyes.  The view of his middle child, bright eyed with flaming red hair framing his face and insanely blue eyes looking back at him while sporting his Spider Man Pajamas and bright blue socks.
“Dad, wake up, Dad!  It’s your day dad!” He said, his voice always light and filled with adventure as Druig rubbed his eyes and started to sit up in bed.  Finn was picked up and moved away for Druig, giggled as Druig sat up and grinned at Finn and Clío.  She just sighed, kissing the top of her son’s head before letting him back on the bed to beeline to Druig’s lap.  Druig welcomed him, Finn hugging him tightly as Clío sat on the side of the bed to watch.
“Remember what it’s called, Finn?” Clío asked her son, Finn pausing to think about it as Druig was observing in amusement.  Finn always had a puzzling look when he was in deep thought, his brows would furrow and his eyes almost darken to deep concentrate.
“Oh, Daddy Day!” Finn recited, sounding so sure of himself.  Druig laughed and he hugged his eldest son. Mother and Father’s Day was not a thing back in the Amazon, or even before that amongst the humans, they was still relatively new holidays. Father’s Day was always a holiday that seemed to slip through the cracks of time in their household, but it was never ignored.
Just the same as Mother’s Day, both Druig and Clío loved celebrating the smaller holidays since they had kids to do it with.  They heard about these two days right after Melody was born, his co workers and would talk about it as the days would come up and even more later in life at Melody’s preschool when she would make a mother’s day or father’s day gift for her parents.
Druig loved showering Clío with gifts and presents on Mother’s Day, even though he would always do that for her.  But he would get her flowers, chocolates that she craved over the years, or sometimes take her away for the weekend as someone would watch Melody.  When it came to Father’s Day, Clío would always take Druig out somewhere involving nature to get him some kind of gardening tool since his soul was still deep rooted in the earth.  It was good to know that they knew each other so well after centuries of being together, and that never changed even after the kids came along.
“Happy Father’s Day, Dru,” Clío said to Druig, her smile never leaving her face, “The kids wanted to celebrate and they all made something for you.”
“Did they?” Druig asked curiously as Finn nodded excitedly.  He then look over at Clío.
“Can I show him now, momma?” He asked her, his blue eyes wide in excitement.
“Oh course, baby. Go get your sister and brother too, please,” Clío replied, Finn bouncing off the bed and rushing out the room before Druig could call out to him.  Clío swiftly moved to be next to him on the bed, moving his hair from his eyes and kissing him good morning as they both could hear the children in their room getting their present ready, “Finn wanted to wake you up this morning, baby.  I know you want your sleep…”
“Darlin’, this is the best way to wake up,” Druig reassured her, kissing away the small look of concern on her face, “I think we both know by now sleep is going to be on the back burner with three kids,”
“Very true,” Clío agreed, “And just for the record, I did not help in their presents for you.  Their Aunts and Uncles did though, so be prepared,”
Druig had to snort from the thought of his children asking for help from their aunts and uncles.  He had an assumption as to who, but then again any of them would have helped his sons and daughter if they asked.  Before he could ask, two sets of feet were running back to their bedroom, breaking the silence and calming peace again as both Clío and Druig looked to see who it was.
Melody, tall and smiling with her long brown hair in its braid over her shoulder was first with something hiding behind her back.  She was a tall nine year old, long limbs vibrant freckles along her pale skin and her brown hair was once against showing highlights from being out in the sun.  Druig could see how Oregon was growing on his eldest child, the constant dirt on her clothes when she was out and about in nature, the thirst to be more outdoors than ever before compared to South Dakota.  Druig was proud that she was growing as a young lady.
Finn was behind her, he too was hiding something behind his back as he was grinning widely and his red hair was still sticking out all over the place.
Melody went first, walking over to the side of the bed where Druig was as Clío moved to the side to let Melody approach him.  She finally showed her gift, a small box that was nicely wrapped with a blue bow on top.
“Happy Father’s Day, Da,” She said to him, Druig grinning widely as he snuck a kiss into her hair.
“Thank you, Petal,” he thanked her, then carefully opening the box as she watched on acted breath.  Inside the box was a watercolor picture, framed nicely in a picture frame.  Druig felt his heart swell from the watercolor picture: the farmhouse in South Dakota.
It looked so gorgeous, the green grass along the white home, the blue window pans that were around each window, even the small vegetable garden to the side next to two horses.  The colors were bright, the lines were nearly perfect, and Druig knew it was all Melody.
“Aunt Thena helped me with the harder lines,” Melody explained, “And mom had a picture for me to use since I only remember the house a little bit.”
Druig, without saying a word, moved the box to the side to hug his daughter tightly, kissing her hair over and over as Melody giggled.  Even though she was getting older and no longer a little girl, she was still affectionate with her parents.  Druig was glad that trait was not dwindling away, he would want to hold onto that for as long as he could before it would slip away.
“It’s perfect, Petal,” He said to her as he framed her face in his eyes and kissed her forehead, seeing her eyes twinkle in happiness from him liking her gift, “Thank you so much, Mel.  I know just where to hang this in my workshop,”
Clío moved the box away as it was Finn’s turn.  He was bouncing on his feet, far too excited while Melody sat on his other side on the bed near Clío.  He rushed over, nearly running into the mattress and then placing his own gift in his father’s hands. It was wrapped in gift wrapping paper, Druig could tell he was trying to wrap it himself before he needed some help.
Druig got the gift open with ease, seeing a nice notebook with scribbles and decorations on the cover that was clearly Finn’s handiwork.  Little leaves and pieces of driftwood glued along the surface as well.  A small drawing of what was the family was on bottom, Druig and Clío with the three kids huddle together.  The words on the front warm this heart:
Daddy’s Handy Workbook.
“Uncle Phastos and Uncle Ben said you needed a notebook for when you work,” Finn explained as Druig was seeing the small drawn pictures on the front and on the spine, “Even Uncle Phastos said that you need to write things down to remember stuff, since you have you have the hard time remembering things,”
Clío snorted under her breath as Melody giggled from her spot in Clío’s lap.  Druig had to laugh, knowing Phastos did say that about him as he looked at his son.
“And your Uncles are right.  I will enjoy writing in this, thank you so much Finn!” He said to his son, seeing the blush on Finn’s cheeks as he thanked him.  A beautiful trait he got from his mother.
“You’re welcome, daddy!” He hummed as he hugged his father tight.  Finn, although filled to the brim with energy, he had his softer moments and would love to shine in them.  He was rambunctious and wanted to run from place to place, maybe hanging upside down from a tree or he got away from it.  Yet at the same time, he had a big heart and always loved to help his parents when he could.
But there was something missing, or someone.
“Mel, where’s your brother?” Clío asked Melody as Druig too was looking for his youngest son.  Finn gasped, looking at the opening into the bedroom as well as the rest of the family.  Poking his head into the room, but clearing hiding behind the door frame, Oliver and his bright brown hair that was framing his face, was looking rather nervous and shy.
Clío moved off the bed, walking over to the opening into the bedroom to kneel in front of their son and talk to him softly.  Oliver tore his eyes away from Druig to Clío now, whispering to her before Clío picked him up in her arms.  The present he had was still hidden as Clío walked him over.  Druig went to sit on the side of the bed, seeing his son watching him with a hint of uncertainty.  Clío placed him on the bed, Oliver reluctantly letting go of her as the small package that was wrapped in dark green wrapping paper was now in his lap.
If Finn was filled with energy, Oliver was filled with peace.  He was the mellow twin, never wishing to go fast and be first at any destination.  Druig loved that about his son, maybe Oliver got that some him and wishing to take his time and observe all that was around him.  He was also a bit more shy, his walls were constantly up when meeting new people or trying new things.  Yet Druig and Clío ever wished to pressure their youngest, knowing his timing was simply his own.
“Heya buddy,” Druig said to him calmly, Oliver shifting a bit on the bed as Druig rubbed his back, “Is this for me?”
“Mmmhmm,” he replied sheepishly, “But I don’t know if I did it right..”
“Oli, you made it perfect,” Clío reassured her son with a soothing kiss in his brown waves, “Why don’t you show your dad what you made him, okay?”
Oliver still looked hesitant, which made Druig lean over to be eye level with him, “Wanna help me open it?”
There was a flicker in his eyes, looking up at Druig and nodding his head.  Druig beamed, the pair of them opening the gift carefully as the rest of the family watched.  Once the small box appeared under the wrapping paper, Druig carefully opened the top of the box, seeing a small piece of art nestled in the tissue paper.
It was a heart, made out of little agates.
The heart itself was a a decent size, taking up over half of the board it was on and the small agates making the heart varied in size.  On the bottom it said Happy Father’s Day in Oliver’s unique handwriting, a small red heart on the end of it.
“Aunty Makkari helped me,” Oliver explained, pointing to the heart that was on the frame as Druig was looking at the present with big eyes and a soft smile, “It’s all the agates I found on the beach by our house!  This big one here,” he pointed to the big agate that was right in the middle, “We got this one on my 4th birthday.  I wanted you to have it since you helped me find it, daddy,”
Druig was very close to crying from hearing his youngest.  Oliver coveted his agates, whether they were big or small he cherish every one he found on the beach.  Druig would remember him coming back into the house with his mother with handfuls of agates, a massive smile on his face that could light the entire home.  Other days he would only find two, maybe one, small agate that seem to be so fragile that it would float away in the wind.  But to Oliver it was precious, cradling it in his palms and showing Druig with massive pride.
For Oliver to give him something so dear to his heart, so precious and rare, it moved Druig’s heart.
He looked from the heart over to his son, seeing him watch Druig for his reaction.  His eyes were his mother’s, bright and filled with joy and hope in making his loved ones happy.  Druig then took the present and carefully placed it on the bed before taking Oliver in his arms and hugging him.
“Thank you so much, my Little Agate,” he said to Oliver, whom hugged him back.  Druig didn’t see, but Clío was silently crying from watch her youngest hold her husband.
“You’re welcome, daddy,” Oliver mumbled into Druig’s chest.  Druig hummed from hearing his son’s manners, then hearing Clío clear her throat for the other two kids to hear her.
“Let’s start getting dad’s breakfast together okay? Come on you two,” She urged Melody and Finn.  The three of them slipped out of the bedroom, letting Druig and Oliver continue their hug.  Clío could sense that Druig wanted a bit more time with Oliver, not simply because of the heart warming gift he got from him, but simply enjoying this tender moment that blossomed from a small seed of love.
“You made all of this yourself?” Druig asked as he pulled away from Oliver and looked at the agate heart again.  Oliver nodded his head, his spirits were slightly lifted from seeing his father’s reaction to his gift.
“Uh huh! Aunty Makkari showed me how to make it into a heart!” He explained enthusiastically, “She did the hot glue gun though, since you and mommy won’t let me use it until I’m bigger,”
Druig had to laugh from hearing that from Oliver, “Well I’m glad you Aunt helped you make this, Oli.  It’s amazing.  Can I hang it in my workshop, so I can see it everyday?”
“Really?” Oliver asked, almost in disbelief as he looked at his father.
“Of course,” Druig answered, seeing Oliver’s massive smile again on his face, “This needs to be hung where I work, so I can look at it all the time.”
Druig could have sworn that Oliver was trying so hard not to bounce up and down in glee.
“Okay!  Can I help you hang it?” Oliver asked in excitement.
“I would love you to come help me hang it,” Druig answered, Oliver wiggling on the bed in excitement as he hopped off the bed.  Reaching out to take Druig by the hand, Druig got up too from the bed to stretch out his back.  He could hear the rest of the family chatting and talking in the kitchen on the other side of the house, the softer smells of the breakfast they were creating was floating into the room to get him hungry.
“I think your mother, brother and sister are getting breakfast ready,” Druig said to him as he ruffled Oliver’s hair, “Should we check and see if they burned anything yet?”
“It’s pancakes and hash browns!” Oliver said, then immediately he covered his mouth with his hands and looked rather shocked, “It’s a surprise, I wasn’t supposed to tell you!”
“Don’t worry, my Little Agate.  Your secret is safe with me,” Druig whispered back to him, Oliver giggling and taking him by the hand, “Lead the way, Oli,”
“Okay, Daddy!” He whispered back to Druig, the pair of them walking together down the hall to the rest of the family.  He knew that the rest of the day was going to be just as wonderful as his morning was, already feeling the love from his family and his three children that he loved more than anything.

“Look’s who’s in his perfect spot,”
Druig looked up, seeing Clío walk over to him.  He was about to move when the body that was snuggled against him shifted, Druig not moving anymore as he looked down at the three little bodies that were snuggled tight against him, snoring away and letting the cool ocean wind come into the living room from the back door that was propped open.
“I can safely say that Father’s Day was a huge success for you,” Clío said with a grin, moving to sit on Druig’s side where Finn was sleeping, his head nestled against Druig’s arm and his mouth slightly open as he was sleeping away.  Melody was on Durig’s otherwise, her head on Druig’s shoulder and she was snoring softly as her long brown hair was around her face.  Oliver was on his chest, mostly on his lap with his head on Druig’s chest.
Druig had the best Father’s Day for certain, one he won’t forget for some time.  After he had one of his favorite breakfasts, the rest of the day was him doing activities with all of his children.  He loved the feeling of time slowing down for him to enjoy his time with all three of his kids, not worrying about the future or what could be coming for his family.
His late morning included going on a hike with the kids, then after lunch he worked on his latest project in his workshop in the garage with Finn helping him, and then he took Oliver out to the beach right before dinner to gather seem more agate for his collection.  After they ate, he and Melody worked in their sketches and watercolor books side by side.
Now he had all three kids fast asleep around him as the credits of the movie they were all watching played.  That night it was Wizard Of Oz, a favorite of Melody’s and the second time the twins watched it.
“A part of me wants to take a picture for the group chat,” Clío teased, Druig giving her an intense gaze as she sighed and shrugged him off, “I won’t, Dru.  You do look happy,”
“I am,” He answered who heartedly, “Beyond happy.  It was a great day, thanks to you,”
“Well, I barely had anything to do with it.  It was all the kids,” She reasoned, then asking out a thick envelope from her back pocket, “I do believe it is my turn to give you a gift,”
Druig, carefully and with some precision since he’s done it so many times, slipped out from being under and around his sleeping children.  After tucking Oliver against the plush cushions of the couch and wrapping a massive blanket over all three of them, he moved quietly over with Clío and as they left the living room to let the kids still sleep.  Melody’s snorting continued as both Druig and Clio made it to the hallway.
“Here,” Clío handed him the thick envelop, Druig touching it in his hands as he eyed her with a hint of suspicion.
“I thought you weren’t going to get me anything this year.” Druig commented. Clío shrugged, motioning her head to the direction of the couch where the children were still sleeping.
“I figured I would still get you something, just from me,” Clío explained, Druig then carefully opening the top of the envelope and looking inside.  Folded documents, his fingers reaching in and taking out what seemed to be updated passports and two tickets.  Intriuiged, Druig saw that the two passport were his own and Clío’s, then seeing reading the destination of the two tickets.
To South America
His heart nearly dropped, eyes going big as he shot a look over to Clío.  She simply smiled and folded her hands in front of herself, nodding at him.
“I think it’s about time we go back to our old home, don’t you?” She asked, Druig still shocked.  Just to think about being back in the jungle, under the canopy of trees and breathing in the rich soil, hearing the animals early in the morning and late into the night….
“Wait!” He said, snapping back to reality as he pointing to the couch again, “What about the kids?”
“Sersi and Dane are going to watch the kids and housesit for us while we’re gone.  Dane’s been wishing to see the west coast for sometime, and I know the kids have been missing their Aunt Sersi since Christmas,” Clío explained.  Druig couldn’t believe it, the smile on his face was so wide you could see all of his teeth.  Ever since he left the Amazon, he had to come to facts that he may never go back again.  Leaving behind all he knew and grew to love for 500 years was hard, but it wasn’t too hard since Clío was with him.  He had a new family to look after, a new life that was unfolded at his feet.  Yet now, just to step back onto jungle grounds again, it was almost like a faded dream he always had for years and now it was coming true.
He didn’t mean to drop the tickets and passports on the ground, but he engulfed Clío in his arms and swung her arms, Clío laughing in glee and clinging onto him tightly.
“Darling girl!” He said to her as he finally placed her on the ground, framing her face in his hands and kissing her face all over, “This is great!  Thank you so much, my love!”
“Druig,” Clío cooed at him, moving the hair from his eyes as she stared at him intensely, “I know you’ve missed our old home for some time.  Your heart is there,”
“My heart’s with you,” Druig reminded her, “With you and the kids,”
“I know, but that place is part of you, part of us,” Clío explained, “Those 500 years shaped you tremendously into the man I see in front of me today.  I’ve missed it too, and we both need a little vacation together anyhow.  Why not back to our old stomping grounds?”
Druig hugged his wife tightly, already picturing the jungle in his mind again as they embraced one another in the darkness of the hallway while their children dreamt on. Clío was right, Druig has missed the Amazing and all it provided for him and Clío for 500 years.  He would never take those centuries back, not when he brought him closer to his wife, to having a slice of pure life that he always wanted for the humans on Earth, and for simply letting him be bare and open with no walls up.
He was going back again.  It was a good Father’s Day after all.
The End.
