Level the Canine

Commission piece. This wolf has a whole lot of fun features:  a removable sleeve  to replace one arm with a prosthetic, a styled mowhawk, waggy tail and handsewn markings.

Customer provided me with assorted materials for finishing including a Canine headbase kit, paw pads and claws from Dream vision creations, and custom made LEDs from Made2Glow.

I adopted this bat design from another artist a couple years back and had started the base for the head and wings not too long after. As you do with adhd, I had the project set aside for a year or so, but then picked it back up after finishing the plush bag. Knocked the rest of it out in a week!

Tau has follow-me eyes, ventilation in the ears, real tunnel gauges, glow in the dark eyes + piercings, and UV reactive fabrics! It was my first time doing the neat and tidy marking trimming with faux fur and I am super happy with how it turned out! I also found a way to do an "invisible" harness for wings using strong magnets!

One of the most intricate suits to ever leave my studio - Indigo for Indigo_Eclipse1 ! This head features 3 sets of horns (biggest ones removable), over a hundred hand-cut and placed scales, and several hundred sewn-in feathers.

Slowly but surely working on a fursuit partial for my tiba! They don't have a name yet, but enjoy spending time in the woods foraging for mushrooms. Their coloring and pattern is based on the Eurasian Bullfinch!

Happy 206th birthday Jyag! 6 years ago Temperance of @komickrazi Studios debuted Jyag Nightdrake and I am using this date as his hatchday plus 200 years, because he's a dragon.

Comic-Con Masquerade Contest: Breanne Cremean

Costume Name: Ack! the Kenku monk

Costume Description: Ack! is a part of an amnesia Dungeons and Dragons campaign and has no memory of her past. She chose her name because it’s the first sound she can remember anyone making in reference to her. These photos and video show her exploring the wilds of the midwestern U.S.A.

The costume is entirely handmade (with the exception of the mask blank which was molded by DreamVision Creations). The body is primarily faux fur and feathers, and the wing feathers, tail and feet are done in craft foam. The robe is linen and closes with a belt woven from a number of shiny ribbon bits she has found on her wanders (nesting instinct perhaps?).

Bio: Breanne is a mild-mannered working mom by day, and a giant nerd pretty much 24/7. She enjoys costume art and making lots of things in her downtime, and is always striving to learn new techniques and materials to incorporate into her work.

Dahy the Deinonychus

Commission piece.

This guy features machine sewn stripes, and handmade head crest feathers with an adjustable internal wire core.

Built using a Dreamvision creations raptor headbase.

Pic I took a while ago, this is the blank head base with all 48 teeth! (Well, technically claws.)

I only need a few for the actual jaw, and then maybe a couple for the feet (depending on what colour is eventually chosen), but other than that I have a ton of spares for the future.

If you want claws exactly like the ones you see here, they are transparent claws with the frosted option and the hex code #00FFFF (Aqua)

Head is from Fuzzbutt Fursuits, and the claws are from Dreamvision Creations.

really getting into the “i wanna make a fursuit” mood

thinking how id change my sonas design to be more fursuit-friendly...my original plan for if i ever got a suit of em was to make a resin mask for the skull face part like the skulldog masks from dreamvision creations that every skulldog suit uses:

but that would be...a LOT. either lots and lots and lots of money to commission one, or me making it myself, and ive never ever worked with resin or anything like that before, so i have no doubts it’d come out very bad. so i figure going with short felt or fleece on top of the foam base with sewn-in felt/fleece markings would be the best approach for my skull head.

the wings would also be a big task, ive seen fursuit wings done before but theyre usually either like, with the hand as part of the wing using feathers as fingers like in this video but as you can see in the ref my sona has hands in there since theyre a raptor, with the feathers extending off the middle finger like in real raptors. i think thatd not only be hard to pull off, but would also make use of the hands...super difficult

also on the hands i want those adorable smooth pawpads. my sona doesnt even have pawpads. theyre a dinosaur. but i love those cute pawpads so much. you know the ones, like on pocari roo’s suit:

i dunno what material those sorts of pads are made of but i want. i want them. im giving my raptor pawpads

and tHEn theres the tail. that big long made-of-bones tail is...super complicated. i might opt for a typical raptor tail (easy to find tutorials on, since dutch angel dragons have the same setup) instead, at least for the first iteration of that suit.

oh also, the digitigrade legs. i tend to not like how digitigrade legs look on suits, since people are plantigrade the legs end up looking clunky. looks pretty fine on fullsuits, but i imagine itd look pretty..not good on partials, like id like to do.

then again i could go for making my ducktales sona instead? who knows.
