Ida’s old creature concept from 2020, before i decided to make her a werewolf. Her design was inspired by the common gliding lizards (Draco sumatranus) and colugos. I’m still very proud of this design and have been debating on bringing it back :]

HERE BE DRAGONS! The sumatran flying dragon (Draco sumatranus) is a lizard that believes it can glide! By flattening out its ribs into flaps, the lizards leap from tree to tree and glide their way to safety.

Common Gliding Lizard (Draco sumatranus) Sungei Buloh, 21st March 2014
This Common Gliding Lizard was still alive (albeit weak and not very responsive) when first spotted in the vicinity of the Visitor Centre of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, but was subsequently found dead a while later that day. Based on the size and bluish colour of the gular flag, this individual was a female.
