Well first it is worth mentioning that in the Dracverse so to speak he is The WoL. When Drac made it to Ishgard and more specifically the Fortemps manor he was pretty much smitten right away. In part because of the Count's physical appearance but also because of the way he treats Drac and his companions. Edmont outranked them all technically and yet he bowed and showed them respect. He also did not expect Drac to act the hero at least not right away. He was clearly more concerned for his well being. Which was incredibly rare for Drac and a rather pleasant surprise to be honest. What followed was a shared curiosity for the other. If Drac had his way he would love to simply sit and listen to Edmont talk, and as it so happened Edmont felt the same about Drac. This lead to many conversations over tea. Even the occasional walk around Ishgard and "shopping trip" together. The house Fortemps steward picked up on their shared attraction rather quickly and showed both of them a lot of support while also trying to nudge them into confessing... Which had mixed results.

They both struggled with guilt and bad experiences with prior relationships which certainly made it even more difficult. There was also a question of whether they felt like they deserved the other, which certainly held them back. But they learned from each other and helped each other grow and move on from their pasts, together.

They are both caring older men with a love for the simple joys in life and a knack for adopting people as their kids. One thing that was also a big deal for Edmont was how Drac treated staff in the manor and people overall. He was kind to everyone he met and wasted no time on those who were rude.

There is a moment I have written but not posted where they are at a banquet together and a few other nobles, including the host, are essentially talking shit about Drac; which he overhears. It does not bother him until it extends to them also making some unsavory comments about his beloved count. That's when he decides to just leave, which is as you'd probably guessed, rather rude. Edmont finds him only a few moments later leaning against a streetlamp and looking up into the mountains with his arms crossed.

When Edmont approaches he assumes that it was about something someone said, but thinks that Drac is upset about them insulting him. Drac explains that he did not want to end up doing something he would truly regret so he simply left instead. That he did not mind their comments about him but that the moment the good count's name was brought up in such a manner he simply had to leave for it infuriated him.

"If they intend to waste my time in there, then I see no reason to stay. For when they speak ill of the most kind and welcoming man in all of Ishgard, I simply cannot accept that. Well.. he is to me, at least."

That was a moment that truly helped Edmont realise how much they mattered to one another, because Edmont felt the same about Drac. The main reason he had even began to look for Drac was because of things he overheard that really pissed him off. Comments about his beloved hero.

Anyway my ramblings aside.. I hope this makes some semblance of sense. Thank you for asking and following me! Hope you have a great day as well!! ❤️

Y'know at some point I'm just going to forget that Drac isn't canon and have Haurchefant introduce Rivienne and Aymeric to his two dads

I want to be transparent even if I do not owe it to anyone or anything like that. And I am not expecting anyone to read this unless they want to. This year has been rough and lately I have been struggling physically, mentally and economically. I basically feel forced to take it a week at a time, and when that is too hard a day at a time and when that gets too hard an hour at a time, a minute...A second..

During my first year of playing ffxiv I fell in love with a character that helped me find my creativity again, but as time went on I found myself caring too much about the engagement my posts got and basing my work's and my own worth on notes. I burnt myself out trying to post often despite my ADD often being a hindrance. It took me time to realize how unhealthy that was but I am slowly getting better. It got to a point where I stopped reblogging things I love in order to present myself a certain way and that doesn't feel right either. I love Edmont with all my heart and that will never stop being the case but I will from here on out only post Dracmont stuff when I truly feel like it, including the spicy fic I said I would release ages ago. I am the only one to blame here and I am not claiming anything else. I am only human and life is weird sometimes. But I am done trying to pretend to be something or someone I am not. I want to be authentically myself and openly share my love for things and people, so I will.

I adore the people I have come to know thanks to ffxiv and want you all to know that you are so incredibly creative and loved. ❤️ Your comments over these past two years have helped me keep going and I value you all greatly. So let me share with you some old man wisdom that I have now learnt from this.. It may not be the best but I want to share it anyway..

You are not your notes or followers. You are not just content creators. You are artists, writers, composers and most importantly people. You all have your own personal struggles and I sincerely hope you never stop being your wonderful authentic selves, making and creating the things you wish to see in the world. You are so talented and amazing and I am so proud of you. And yes this goes out to all of you, ffxiv people or nah.

I want to thank you for reading and being patient with my silly ass over these last two years. But I must warn you that I will only get sillier haha.

I will likely be less active here for several reasons.. Call it a mental health break if you will. But I hope to come back every now and again and see everyone's wonderful creations, thoughts and feelings.

The guilt was unbearable - Drac could not fathom why he was allowed to stay. He wanted Edmont to be angry, to throw him out for failing to protect his son. There was no logic in doing so. Edmont knew as much. And deep down Drac did too. Haurchefant had made a choice that day and Edmont would be lying if he claimed he would not have done the same. But despite this, Drac's feelings had gotten the better of him. He had no idea what to say anymore, lost in devastated fury and fear. So, in a state of panic, he fled into the cold snowy night.

Fearing for his lover's health Edmont rushed after. Losing his cane somewhere in the process. But he refused to let it stop him. He needed to make sure Drac wouldn't end up hurting himself.

After running down the stairs, trying to catch up to his beloved warrior of light, Edmont's legs gave in and he collapsed onto his knees.

Seeing Edmont's pleading and pained expression was enough to bring Drac back to his senses. He realized how selfish he was being. For making such a scene and not considering how Edmont felt about it all.

Drac gasped, took off his helmet and tossed it aside.

They had traveled to Camp Dragonhead together to check in with Emmanellain, who had taken it upon himself to honor his late brother by taking over his role and doing his utmost to prove himself a capable lord and knight.

Edmont guided his xaela lover through the camp grounds, showing him all the areas he had once patrolled himself in his youth. Once they came upon one of the empty rooms, placed on top of the camp walls, Edmont stopped dead in his tracks. He motioned over to the window with his free hand, encouraging Drac to enjoy the view.

Drac did just that and walked over to the corner of the room, his lips curled up in a wide smile as he looked out the window, his form lit up softly by the morning sun outside.

Edmont could feel his cheeks and the tip of his ears heat up slightly as he caught himself staring at the man in front of him. He tried to wrap his head around what he had done to deserve such a beautiful and handsome man for a lover. His eyes traveled to the xaela's lips and he swallowed hard behind him.

Drac turned to face the elezen lord, his eyes full with affection as he took a few steps closer to the former count.

"It is a lovely view. But I must confess that I prefer the one in front of me." The xaela's tone was soft and warm and he beamed at Edmont, having just caught him staring.

In the heat of the moment, Edmont practically lunged forward, pushing the taller man up against the wall behind them. There was a slight look of mischief in his eyes as his lover's own eyes widened in surprise and gasped at the elezen lord's sudden boldness. Drac's face was flushed a deep red, his chest heaving as Edmont leaned up against him, their faces only a breath apart.

"My son has already waited this long. I am sure Emmanellain can wait a little while longer… my love." Came a whisper from the former count, his breath brushing against Drac's lips, before leaning in for a kiss.
