Izo talks about stabbing a british guy who had a blue policebox with him and being scared off when he started shooting fire out of his arms and head as everyone listens on in horror as they realize that not only did he nearly permanently kill The Doctor from Doctor Who, but also that apparently The Doctor is a real person and was nearly killed by Izo of all people.
Oh ho ho!

I feel like I do this every week, but can we get a sneak peek at some of your wips?
Mostly working at my spoiler fandom exchange project. The WIP (and not fixed) title is Burnout Legends, so take that as you will.
-
Otherwise, I wrote this thing the other day as part of one of my drabble requests. It didn't work even slightly but I kind of had fun with it and am saving it as the potential start of a different story someday:
For the first month of Chase’s fellowship, they don’t have a single case. House is never in before ten, so Chase makes sure to be in by nine-thirty. Spends his days reading journals and daydreaming. Four hours in the clinic a week. Twice, he’s pulled into NICU to cover an absence.
House leaves promptly at five. Chase heads home at ten after.
-
Hernandez is the only other one in Diagnostics. Him and Jacobs, although she’d quit two days after Chase was fired, which at the time almost felt personal. Hernandez is in his late thirties, touchy, and Chase never learns his first name. He rolls his eyes whenever Chase says something, dismisses his every idea. Chase isn’t sure if he’s supposed to argue or just take it. He watches House for clues but House never says anything one way or another.
Six weeks into Chase’s contract they finally get a patient. Woman, forties, and her potassium keeps crashing. Chase spends sixteen hours and two heart attacks at her bedside while House stomps around asking questions and Hernandez fails to answer. “At least Chase is capable of doing something useful around here!” House snaps around hour twenty eight. By the next day, they have a diagnosis of Bartter Syndrome, and Chase is down a coworker.
-
A week later House hires a guy named Munoz. Just out of a cardiology residency, a real hot-shot who tells Chase in their first conversation he finished med school in three years and his under graduate in two. Their first case he completely shuts down, stammering and panicking under pressure, and he quits after three days.
Jacobs is a gastroenterologist. She’s nice enough: married, has two young kids. She and Chase get lunch a couple of times, and when she lasts the first month he starts to think she might last. Then her oldest gets the flu while they’re in the middle of a case. Chase isn’t sure if House fires her for taking time off or if she’d simply seen the writing on the wall and quit.
Gillespi and Okada and Palmer last about a week each, and Chase barely bothers trying to remember their names. Okada an oncologist House takes on to annoy Wilson; Palmer is quiet and smart but bursts into tears the first time House tells her off. It’s embarrassing and uncomfortable, and when she storms out, she gives Chase a look like it’s his fault for not sticking up for her.
Gillespi was the worst: he’s a rheumatologist, and on his first day House pretended to get excited about how much he and Chase had in common. Turned out, Gillespi had gone to several of the same conferences as Chase’s father, and took pains to let Chase know how much he admired the man. Luckily, he’d only lasted a few days before getting fired for screwing up a basic procedure.
Dr. Wise was next: Chase suspects House decides to keep him based entirely on the jokes to be made of his name. He’s forty, spend years working in free clinics and doing good, but at first House seems taken with the guy: Wise, he loves to remind Chase, has street smarts, meaning that last time House tried to scam them both out of money, Chase had given him forty bucks and Wise hadn’t given in.
Wise lasts almost three months and spends most of that time smiling patronizingly at Chase and telling him that, in his experience, everything Chase just said is wrong. But then his habit of second guessing spread to House itself, and he was out the door.
The last one is a Filipino guy named Aquino. House jokes that he and Chase should get along, since they’re both from the same backwards part of the world (Aquino is from Dallas), but he’s okay: if by now Chase didn’t know better he might have actually bothered to get to know him.
-
For a month after Aquino quits, it’s just Chase. He gets House’s morning routine figured out, befriends a couple of the girls in reception. If he starts a pot of coffee at nine thirty and one of them gives him a head’s up, he can have a fresh cup ready for House when he strolls through the door. The first time Chase pulls this off, House gives him a funny look: the third time House laughs aloud. “Cute,” he says, tossing Chase a file. “But you’re not my type. Go keep our new patient alive, Wilson’s interviewing your new baby brother.”
“How long do I keep Ms. Strickland alive?”
“If this new guy isn’t totally useless, I expect you back here at eleven for the DDX.”
Maran doesn’t make it past his first day.
-
House doesn’t hire anyone else for a while. Chase gets him coffee in the mornings, tries his hand at sudoku, and starts to relax. Then one day he comes into the office to find a girl standing there, awkward in the middle of the room and still in her coat. She’s younger than the last few hires — Chase’s age — and pretty, too pretty, enough that by the time Chase closes the door behind him he’s decided she’s a vanity hire, pretty enough House couldn’t resist, vastly under-qualified, and won’t last the week.
“You new here?” he asks kindly, taking off his jacket. If House doesn’t get offended, maybe Chase’ll ask her for drinks once she quits.
“Yes!” She’s nervous. Smiles awkwardly, covers her exclamation. “I was told to be in by nine…”
“House’ll be in in an hour or so. Maybe.” He doesn’t usually bother anymore, but Chase offers his hand, introduces himself: she really is very pretty.
“It’s so nice to meet you,” she says, too perky — he rethinks his drink plans — “I’m Allison Cameron.”

ShuPro Awards 2023!
Normally I would post this on Twitter but I don't use twitter any more so now you guys get to deal with me instead! ShuPro dropped their awards for 2023 today so here they are in english. Right off the top, note that these are fan voted awards, so yes they're absolutely biased towards larger companies & popularity. To be clear I am not publishing this to be an unbiased news source I am posting this to be a bitch and tell you everything they got wrong bc I am right all of the time and have incredible taste. The numbers are how many votes they got. Anyway here we go.
Pro Wrestling Grand Prize
Hiromu Takahashi - 1748
Tetsuya Naito - 1516
Kenoh - 1269
Sanada - 915
Tam Nakano - 838
Will Ospreay - 301
Jake Lee - 266
Unagi Sayaka - 233
Yuma Aoyagi - 219
Natsupoi - 182
[Three women all being in the top 10 for the overall GP feels really big to me, especially Tam in the top 5. Also Kenoh in 3rd is very cool. I don't remember for sure but I think women have made top 10 before, but I don't think this many. Also all of them being Cosmic Angels? Oh my heart 🥲]
Best Match
Shinsuke Nakamura vs Great Muta - Noah 1.1 - 1258 [😒]
Tam Nakano vs Giulia - Stardom 4.23 - 1046 [should have won]
Tetsuya Naito vs Keiji Muto - Noah 2.21 - 725
Tetsuya Naito vs Will Ospreay - New Japan 8.12 - 566
Hiromu Takahashi vs Hayato "Jr." Fujita - Michinoku Pro 10.15 - 437
Tetsuya Naito vs Kazuchika Okada - New Japan 8.13 - 411
Kenny Omega vs Will Ospreay - New Japan 1.4 - 355
Katsuhiko Nakajima vs Kento Miyahara - Noah 7.15 - 336
Kentoh Miyahara vs Kenoh - Noah 1.1 - 235
Will Ospreay vs Shota Umino - New Japan 11.4 - 204
[Best Match is always kind of a side eye category that is sometimes kind of just the "which match was the G1 Finals" award and once again it proves Japanese fans are also capable of having bad taste but at least Tam & Giulia got 2nd place.]
Joshi Wrestling Grand Prize
Tam Nakano - 2092 [Holy shit that's a lot of votes. They're right but wow]
Giulia - 1192 [Like seriously stunned Tam swept it by that much. Just wow.]
Suzu Suzuki - 823
Unagi Sayaka - 737
Saori Anou - 563
Mizuki - 548
Iyo Sky - 502
Maika - 323
Rina Yamashita - 279
Sareee - 210
[Tam getting it by such a huge margin is crazy but I'm so happy. Also Tam, Una, & Saori all getting in the top 5 is incredible, Cosmic Angels are unstoppable. I'm really surprised Poi didn't get on the list though, especially after getting 10th in the overall category. Anyway clearly this is the most important category and god willing one day soon this and the overall category will both be all women.]
Best Unit
Cosmic Angels - 1973 [So true bestie. This is the 3rd year in a row Cosmic Angels have won this award which is insane, especially given the 2023 they actually had. They are fucking unstoppable. Girlfriend power is unbeatable.]
Los Ingobernables de Japon - 1361
Good Looking Guys - 1149 [I have a few friends who like GLG and mostly I just like seeing anything other than New Japan on these lists so I'm glad.]
House of Torture - 940 [lmao seriously?? did 940 people just not know who else to vote for or like are you guys really huge Sho fans or what]
United Empire - 418 [If you like UE I'd ask you consider growing better taste thanks]
Pheromones - 404 [Should have been way higher smh]
Just 5 Guys - 386
Free WiFi - 385 [SHOULD HAVE BEEN WAY HIGHER SMH]
Queen's Quest - 262 [SHOULD HAVE BEEN WAY HIGHER SMH]
Donna del Mondo - 209 [Hey good for them!]
Okay honestly 4 of these being women's units AND Free WiFi getting on this list owns.
Best Foreign Wrestler
Will Ospreay - 3487 [God really. Are you guys serious. Always with this shit]
Megan Bayne - 1045 [r u kidding me.]
Max The Impaler - 963
Zack Saber Jr. - 627
Chris Brookes - 599 [Should be way higher]
Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. - 548
Mariah May - 420(nice) [SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRST PLACE]

Yu Owada - 198
Mifu Ashida - 181
[7 women on this list & the win going to Hanako is AWESOME but also LMFAO DARK UNAGI GOT 6TH PLACE ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME Una's power is limitless. Kayfabe is alive and well.]
Favourite Pro Wrestler [I always love they do favourite separate from best]
Tam Nakano - 1542 [HELL YEAH WRESTLING FANS GET ONE RIGHT]
Tetsuya Naito - 1384
Natsupoi - 892 [Poi in 3rd overall as well is HUGE]
Saori Anou - 887 [COSMIC ANGELS SWEEP]
Kenoh - 683
Hiromu Takahashi - 597
Hiroshi Tanahashi - 593 [I remember a lot of times this feeling like the Hiroshi Tanahashi award so Tana down in 7th is surprising]
Wakana Uehara - 577 [Honestly Wakana seems crazy popular and they're pairing her with Yuki Arai now right? God that's like a print money combo]
Kazuchika Okada - 533
Mina Shirakawa - 514
Unagi Sayaka - 461
Starlight Kid - 375 [Wow crazy she got 12th place with how out of shape and lazy she is 🙄 THIS IS SARCASM if you don't know what I'm referring to I envy you. Hope 2024 is the year a certain someone finally gets fired Stardom would be better with no subtitles]
Yuki Arai - 364
Mayu Iwatani - 361
El Desperado - 359
Will Ospreay - 343
Giulia - 341
Kento Miyahara - 316

Jun Kasai - 170
Yota Tsuji - 164
Naomichi Marufuji - 163
Yuma Aoyagi - 154
Rei Saitou - 148
Hayato "Jr." Fujita - 147
Suzu Suzuki - 145
Arisu Endo - 141
Yuki Kamifuku - 137
Mizuki - 131
Hazuki - 130
EVIL - 128
Saki Kashima - 126 [SAKI SWEEP. TOP 10 NEXT YEAR]
Iyo Sky - 125
Shingo Takagi - 122
Great O-Khan - 121
Kairi Sane - 120
Miyu Yamashita - 119
Shinsuke Nakamura - 118
Kaito Kiyomiya - 115
Syuri - 113
Go Shiozaki - 111
Overall these awards are just popularity contests but I still liked a lot of what I saw. The Favourite Wrestler top 50 actually being half women is great and soon enough it'll be all women and we can finally admit we just don't need men's wrestling any more. I can't believe how insanely popular Cosmic Angels are, especially with the let's say rocky 2023 they had, but I guess some things are just so undeniably great people can't miss it.

Muqi Fachang Six Persimmons 13th-century “The short window we have to experience these artworks echoes the brief time we have on Earth to make a positive impact on those around us. By allowing audiences to directly contemplate these humble yet powerful ink paintings, shared with us in the spirit of utmost generosity, The Heart of Zen reflects what we do best at the Asian Art Museum: offering a once-in-a-lifetime chance to connect the past with our lives today.” – Dr. Jay Xu, the Barbara Bass Bakar Director and CEO, Asian Art Museum of San Francisco [1] “Six Persimmons” (detail), a still life of an autumn fruit likely by the monk Muqi and one of Japan’s most revered works of art, is on view for only three weeks at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco. ohhh I'd love to know about Jay White / Bullet Club character study piece?
Ahhhhh I think you would really enjoy this one though it's very ill-formed right now and is basically why I'm on the Jay White Deep Dive. I am tossing around several things structurally, and mostly trying to figure out how to write it at a length that won't burn me out. But essentially I like the idea of writing a Jay POV story about his time as leader of bullet club and the layers of struggling with hmmm being both a paranoid maniac who WILL backstab but also caring so much? I think a LOT about Phantasmo "we discussed it and we were going to let Jay ride off into the sunset--". There's affection between the shitty losers of bullet club (affectionate) and I want to tease that out and how Jay both trusts it and cannot trust it as a result of his own actions.
Again, not super well defined yet but I think a lot of the story is contained within my initial idea of how Jay approached Kenta to join bullet club. I think there's this sense to which in order to recruit for Bullet club, he looks for people who are fundamentally dissatisfied with their lot on the roster and preys on that to get them to flip.
And Jay is very very good at that, and I've kind of tapped Ishimori as a character who helps him with that structure. But like, it comes with this terrible double edged sword that is both people pleasing and "I need to stab first". The "I need to stab first" paranoia is visible in the character development as I understand it, but at heart I want this fic to be about the ways in which Jay White is always trying to one-up himself by hyper-reading in to how happy his Bullet Club friends are with being in Bullet Club-- because fundamentally, he's afraid of someone like him stealing them away the same way he did.
There's a whole element too with Gedo + Okada that I'm still tossing over how to weave into the story. Gedo's presence as Jay's crutch is unmistakable but I don't see their relationship as fundamentally all that good for Jay (or Okada)-- so like, Gedo as a character really feeding the twin paranoia / product of Jay White The Best Guy Ever, and that eventually eating up Jay inside. It's like, the contrast is that Jay and say, Phantasmo or Kenta or Ishimori, still fundamentally like and care about each other on some level. Gedo cares about Jay White The Product the same way he cared about Okada the Product (before Okada went full mid-life-crisis mode). But I'm still tossing around how to weave this in and/or how much
AND THEN there's also David Finlay who I have the most ill-formed ideas about but want to have a presence in the story too...same with Tama Tonga... we'll see when I get to that in my backwatch....
tl;dr Jay White is a neurotic mess of a guy and I want to write about him fucking himself over in various ways until his untimely (narrative) demise.

El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. (c) vs. Kaito Kiyomiya (NOAH Wrestle Magic 2024)
"Super Kaito!"
