On Monday, The New York Times ran an article detailing visits to the White House from a neurologist described as a specialist in Parkinson's disease. Similar stories appeared on CNN, ABC News, and other outlets.  

These stories follow a story that ran on Saturday in the Rupert Murdoch-owned New York Post, which noted that neurologist Dr. Kevin Cannard made several visits to the White House over the past year. This included a Jan. 17 meeting with Biden’s personal physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor. The Post described their report emerging “as questions continue to swirl about the 81-year-old president’s mental health in the wake of his debate debacle last week with former President Trump.”  None of the articles explicitly state that Cannard was at the White House to treat Biden for Parkinson’s, but all of them insinuate that Cannard was visiting for that purpose. The Times article adds reports from anonymous neurologists insisting that Biden is demonstrating symptoms of Parkinson’s.  And when it came time for a press conference on Monday, reporters seemed angry at White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre for refusing to help in fueling their speculation.

Normally, more reputable outlets would have some qualms about mimicking the tabloid stylings of the New York Post. However, in this case, the openings of the stories are all astoundingly similar.

[...] This isn’t the first time that anyone has suggested Biden might have Parkinson’s. On June 28, a story in The New Yorker speculated that Biden's facial expressions during the debate had the appearance of Parkinson's according to unspecified "observers." Right-wing pundits have pushed the idea of Biden having Parkinson’s for years. 

The New York Times and much of the MSM (along with right-wing media) promoted a narrative falsely insinuating that President Joe Biden has Parkinson’s.

In January, President Biden's personal physician met with Walter Reed's Parkinson's disease specialist, Dr Cannard and cardiologist, Dr Atwood.

Top Washington D.C. neurologist had a meeting with President Biden’s personal doctor at the White House earlier this year, visitor logs reviewed by The Post show.

Dr. Kevin Cannard, a Parkinson’s disease expert at Walter Reed Medical Center, met with Dr. Kevin O’Connor, and two others at the White House residence clinic on Jan. 17, according to the records, which emerge as questions continue to swirl about the 81-year-old president’s mental health in the wake of his debate debacle last week with former President Trump.

Dr. John E. Atwood, a cardiologist at Walter Reed, was also in the 5 P.M. meeting, the White House visitor logs show.

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS), who is a physician, said “many” in the medical community have “suspected for several years that the president might be suffering from Parkinson’s disease.”

“Sadly, over 500,000 Americans are afflicted by this progressive neurological condition. If the president of the United States is among them, the American people deserve to know before voting in November,” he told The Post.

Dr. Rob Howard, a professor of old age psychiatry at University College London, said that President Biden displayed many symptoms indicative of Parkinson’s disease.

The president’s “fluctuation in attentional function, his facial appearance, and his gait,” were all signs that something is amiss, said Howard, who has never examined Biden and added he was not offering a formal diagnosis.

“I am not saying its Parkinson’s disease, I am just pointing out that there are features to him that are consistent with Parkinson’s disease.”

Cannard is an authority on Parkinson’s who has worked at Walter Reed for nearly 20 years.

Since 2012, he has served as the “neurology specialist supporting the White House Medical Unit,” according to his LinkedIn.

His most recent paper was published in August 2023 in the journal Parkinsonism & Related Disorders, and focuses on the “early-stage” of the crippling disease.

Tragic that this Kevin O'Connor would risk his medical license to coverup for the Biden family and jeopardize our national security.

Terry was D.L. Brock's rich, spoiled daughter and she arrives in Port Charles to torment her father's new wife Bobbie, but when she discovers that Bobbie is being battered by Brock, the two bond. When Brock is murdered, the two lean on each other. Bobbie considers Terry to be a daughter and the two become very close.

Later, Terry becomes involved with Dr. Kevin O'Connor, but when Kevin is put on trial for murder, Terry stands by his side. However, it is later discovered that Kevin is having an affair with one of his witnesses, a mousy librarian named Lucy Coe, who as it turns out is not so mousy.

Kevin later frames Terry for a murder she didn't commit and when that doesn't work, he kidnaps Terry and then tries to kill her, but later he dies when Terry hits him with a rock and he then falls off a cliff.

After Duke Lavery is presumed dead, Terry buys his nightclub. It reopens in July 1989. Frisco Jones performs at its reopening.

She dates Kevin's brother Patrick until he didn't want her to pursue her music career and she also became lovers with Dusty Walker (played by Sean Cassidy).

Terry then has a relationship with Ned Ashton but when that doesn't work out, she decides to leave Port Charles after she gets a recording contract in 1990.

AP Nails WH in Head-Spinning Falsehood About Neurologist's Visit

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has been having a tough time over the past couple of days dealing with the question of the visits of neurologist Dr. Kevin Cannard to the White House. 

There were some wild moments on Monday with journalist Ed O'Keefe where KJP and O'Keefe got into a shouting match. O'Keefe was asking about the Jan. 17 meeting Dr. Cannard had with Joe Biden's doctor, the White House physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, as well as Cannard's other visits to the White House. KJP refused to comment on whether that meeting or those visits pertained to Biden. All she would say was that he saw a neurologist as part of his physicals for the past three years. 

The question came up again during the White House briefing on Tuesday as well. During the briefing, KJP said definitively that the Jan. 17 meeting did not relate to care for Joe Biden. 

But now the AP's Seung Min Kim who asked that question above is reporting that they have received a statement from Karine Jean-Pierre saying that the Jan. 17 meeting was about Biden, despite the fact that she had "inaccurately said" it wasn't earlier in the day. 

“Because the date was not mentioned in the question, I want to be clear that the Jan. 17 meeting between Dr. O’Connor and Dr. Cannard was for the President’s physical,” Jean-Pierre said in a statement to the AP on Tuesday. “It was one of the three times the President has seen Dr. Cannard, each time for his physical. The findings from each exam have been released to the public.”

So wait. She was specifically asked if the Jan. 17 meeting was related to Biden and she denied it. Now, she's trying to claim because the "date was not mentioned in the question" that somehow that was confusing or she couldn't tell the truth? Is she kidding? But apparently it's all just the media's fault for not understanding her. 

The Story of Parkinson's Neurologist's White House Visits Gets More Involved

As Kim noted in her story, this is the second time in the past week where KJP has been caught having to "clarify" something because what she said previously was false/misleading. 

Last week, Jean-Pierre said Biden “did not get checked out by the doctor” for a cold that was noticeable during the June 27 debate. But Biden later said in a private meeting with Democratic governors that he had been checked out by his doctor after the debate concluded. Jean-Pierre said she meant Biden did not get a full medical exam and that the president did indeed have a “check-in” with his doctor, which he does a couple of times a week.

So are they going to hold her accountable tomorrow for this lie? Even now, after admitting they've been told falsehoods twice, it's still just "inaccurately said." They need to drop the hammer on her in the briefing for this because at this point why would anyone believe anything she has to say about anything?

I got 'sandbagged': Biden responds to his fall during Air Force graduation

Biden has been dogged by questions about his age and his fitness to serve, and his missteps have become fodder for political rivals as he campaigns for a second term in 2024.

COLORADO SPRINGS: President Joe Biden quipped that he got “sandbagged” Thursday after he tripped and fell — but was uninjured — while onstage at the US Air Force Academy graduation.

Biden had been greeting the graduates in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the front of the stage with salutes and handshakes, and turned to jog back toward his seat when he fell. He was helped up by an Air Force officer as well as two members of his US Secret Service detail.

Onlookers, including some members of the official delegation onstage, watched in concern before Biden, who at age 80 is the oldest president in US history, returned to his seat to view the end of the ceremony.

“I got sandbagged,” the president told reporters with a smile when he arrived back at the White House on Thursday evening before pretending to jog into the residence. Two small black sandbags had been onstage supporting the teleprompter used by Biden and other speakers at the graduation.

“He’s fine,” White House communications director Ben LaBolt tweeted after the incident. “There was a sandbag on stage while he was shaking hands.”

Biden has been dogged by questions about his age and his fitness to serve, and his missteps have become fodder for political rivals as he campaigns for a second term in 2024. He has stumbled before going up the stairs and onto Air Force One and he once got caught up in his bike pedals while stopping to talk to reporters near his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Biden’s personal doctor said after the president’s most recent physical exam in February that Biden “remains a healthy, vigorous 80-year-old male, who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency.” Dr Kevin O’Connor also documented the president's stiffened gait, which O'Connor said was the result of spinal arthritis, a previously broken foot and neuropathy in Biden's feet.

Biden is far from the first national political figure to stumble in public.

President Gerald Ford fell down while walking off Air Force One in 1975. GOP Sen. Bob Dole of Kansas, the GOP presidential nominee at the time, fell off the stage at a campaign rally in 1996. President Barack Obama tripped walking up the stairs to a stage at a 2012 event. “I was so fired up, I missed a stair,” he told the crowd.

President Donald Trump's gingerly walk down a ramp at the 2020 West Point commencement also sparked concerns about his health.

Trump, 76, was campaigning in Iowa when he heard about Biden's stumble and alluded to his own episode.

“He actually fell down? Well, I hope he wasn’t hurt,” Trump said after an audience member told him about what had happened to Biden. “The whole thing is crazy. You gotta be careful about that ... 'cause you don’t want that, even if you have to tiptoe down a ramp.”

The audience laughed as Trump recounted slowly inching his way down what he said had been a slippery ramp at the US Military Academy graduation.

“If he fell, it’s too bad,” the former president said. “We gotta just get this thing back on track. That’s a bad place to fall when you’re making, I think it was the Air Force Academy, right? That’s not inspiring.”

Meanwhile, GOP presidential candidate and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis used the opportunity to take a political shot at Biden while at a campaign event in New Hampshire.

“We hope and wish Joe Biden a swift recovery from any injuries he may have sustained,” he said, “but we also wish the United States of America a swift recovery from the injuries it has sustained because of Joe Biden and his policies.”

Joe Biden had cancerous skin lesion removed, White House says

US President Joe Biden had a cancerous skin lesion removed last month during a routine health screening, the White House has said.

All cancerous tissue was removed and no further treatment is required, Mr Biden's doctor said.

Mr Biden will continue dermatologic surveillance as part of his ongoing healthcare, the doctor added.

The president, 80, had a physical exam in February which the White House said found him healthy and "fit for duty".

Kevin O'Connor, Mr Biden's doctor, wrote in a note provided to media on Friday that the lesion was removed from Mr Biden's chest on 16 February at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center outside Washington DC.

"No further treatment is required," he said, adding that the area has "healed nicely" since the biopsy was taken.

The note said that the type of cancer found - basal cell carcinoma - does not normally spread, or metastasise.

Basal and squamous cell carcinoma are the two most common forms of skin cancer in the US, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Diagnosed in 3.6 million Americans every year, it is the the most frequently occurring form of all cancers, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation. It is slow-growing, curable and causes minimal damage if treated early.

Unlike melanoma - another type of common skin travel that can spread to other parts of the body - basal and squamous carcinoma "both can usually be cured, but they can be disfiguring and expensive to treat," the CDC says.

In January, Mr Biden's wife, First Lady Jill Biden, had three lesions removed, with two of them later testing positive for basal cell carcinoma.

Mr Biden has had several non-melanoma skin cancers removed in the past, before he became president.

In a 2021 summary of his health, Dr O'Connor wrote that the president's lesions had been excised and "there are no areas suspicious for skin cancer at this time".

Doctors advise that the best way to prevent skin cancer is to cover up and wear sunscreen lotion, even during winter.

The Bidens have long been strong advocates for fighting and curing cancer. Their adult son, Beau, died in 2015 from brain cancer.

Mr Biden is widely expected to announce that he will seek a second term in office.
