Ian and I walked into the convention center arm in arm. I was looking at the itinerary for the lectures while Ian looked over where everything was.

“thank god it’s only one day we have to be here.” Ian pointed out when I showed him that he would have to attend at least four lectures before his lecture even took place. He rubbed his forehead with his free hand before taking off his sunglasses. “Next time I’m just going to agree to my own lecture and we can sneak away before we get roped into anything else.” Ian pulled me close and playfully bit my ear.

”Ian.” I laughed. “For fucks sake! We’re in public.” Ian pulled away and pulled me into a searing kiss.

“screw public.” He teased. “Anyway what are these lectures on anyway?” His head fell against mine as he looked over the paper in my hands.

“Well there is one lecture you won’t get out of.” I pointed out. Ian frowned as I pointed it out. “Led by one Dr. Ellie satler?” Ian sighed and nodded.

“right. The one I agreed to come to months ago and have always found an excuse to miss.” He pouted. “She finally managed to tie me down.” I playfully shoved him.

“shut up Ian. It won’t have anything to do with jurassic park as far as I know. Just something to do with her research on…something.” I laughed. I felt Ian lean some of his weight against me as he sagged in relief. “Now come on. Someone is giving a lecture on chaos theory and you need to be there for that.” I pulled him in the direction of the auditorium and grabbed some seats as far back as we dared.

Ian sat with his hand on my thigh, fingers playing with the hem of my pants. I had to grab his hand a few times to stop him from inching closer to my crotch. I shifted uncomfortably a few times and Ian looked over at me with a raised eyebrow. I waved him off each time and breathed a sigh of relief as I stood up at the end of the lecture.

“god that was long.” I said as I stretched.

“uh (Y/N)?” Ian said softly. I looked over my shoulder at him. Ian’s gaze was fixed on my ass and I almost smacked him until I turned fully to look. “Do you have a change of clothes?” His eyes jumped up to mine and I shook my head.

“I mean technically. But all I packed this weekend was light clothes.” I said, surprised by how calm I was with this. “Figured with the amount of people, and the natural light in this place, it’d be cooler.” Ian nodded.

“I have a change of clothes in the car. It’ll be big on you but it’s black and no matter what happens at least it will cover it up.” Ian stood up and wrapped his jacket around my waist, making it look like he was hugging me from behind so no one else noticed I had bled through the back of my pants. “I’ve got some pads packed too.” I nodded as I leaned back against him.

“you always think ahead.” I murmured as we followed the crowd that was exiting the auditorium. “Why do you have pads in your car?” I asked, looking over my shoulder at him again.

“in case of times like this.” He whispered before kissing my cheek. “Wait here. I’ll run out and grab it.” Ian left me by the bathroom and ran out to the car. He came back with a bag and ushered me into the bathroom. When I came back, I handed him the bag back. “Better?” I nodded. “Ok. Go to the next lecture and I’ll run these to the hotel to soak so they don’t stain.” I nodded and pulled Ian into a kiss. “What was that for?” He asked, eyeing me slightly as I pushed him away.

“for being the best partner ever.” I said with a smile. Ian smiled back and walked backwards out of the convention hall while I watched. Once he was gone, I headed to the next lecture to wait for him to come back.

Okay so, you know how Licensed Games of big movie franchises typically have to get soundalikes (unless they're Triple-A releases) for the big-name actors?

Jurassic World Evolution, a zoo-management tycoon game, used Owen Grant, Claire Dearing, Ian Malcom, and Dr. Henry Wu as NPC's/guide characters who commentate on your playthrough and speak directly to you.

With the sole exception of Owen Grant (played by Chris Pratt in the films, voiced by a soundalike in the game), ALL of the original actors reprise their roles.

Yes, even Jeff Goldblum. The fact he reprises his role was actually hyped up a LOT in the marketing. He actually reprised his role in Jurassic World Evolution BEFORE he came back for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

The "Return to Jurassic Park" DLC gets even more impressive, as the movie characters used there are John Hammond, Alan Grant, Ellie Satler, and Ian Malcom.

Richard Attenborough was the only actor from the original movie who didn't reprise his role in the DLC, as he had passed away prior to Jurassic World's released.

I personally really liked the character of Mason Weaver in Kong: Skull Island🦍 in fact I might actually prefer her to the likes of Ann Darrow/Dwan - she’s not some vapid damsel in distress running around barefoot, she has a legit reason for being on Skull Island and she and Kong don’t "fall in wuv" they bond over protecting the inhabitants of Skull Island - I wish more action movies had a heroine like her! She’s much more like Dr. Ellie Satler or Ellen Ripley than Ann Darrow. Anyway I was thinking about what would happen if her character were to make a return to the series and if so who would play her because obviously if it’s in the present day then they would need somebody older (although they could still use Brie for flashbacks)? Here are some ideas I had:

Sigourney Weaver - The character of Mason actually got her last name from the Alien icon so how could I not pick her!?

Jessica Lange - perhaps as a throwback to the 1976 version of the story we could once again have Ms. Lange as the object of the big guys affection?

Susan Sarandon - just because she’s a kickass actress, is around the right age, kinda looks like Brie and could believably play a former anti war photographer who’s probably dealing with some sort of PTSD. I would certainly watch that movie!!

Helen Mirren - for similar reasons to Ms. Sarandon. Plus with her razor sharp wit and dry humour she could keep things real without it getting too sappy. Once again I would watch that movie!

Adrienne Barbeau - This woman absolutely ruled the 1980s sci-fi scene and kicked ass while doing so! She mostly does TV roles now but I bet she would fit right into the Monsterverse!

Anyways that’s just my opinion. What do you guys think?

What Jurassic World: Dominion should have been about

(Because I’ve watched not only Dominion but also a Jurassic movies marathon last weekend on TV. So I got dinosaurs on the brain lol. And while I enjoyed Dominion in theaters, the more I think about it, the less the story makes sense, and didn’t deliver on the DINOSAURS IN OUR WORLD plotline we deserved).

Here we go!

Prologue. 65 million years ago, dinosaurs live their best lives, wild and free. We witness a fight between the T. Rex and Giganotosaurus. Giga wins and kills the T. Rex. 65 million years later, after the events of Fallen Kingdom, the T. Rex attacks a drive-in theatre, causing panic and chaos.

(AKA we keep the Prologue that Universal released on Youtube a few months ago. Because it’s awesome. Seriously, go check it out if you can!)

We see the NowThis segment on TV, with a little more scenes that weren’t already in the Dino Tracker added. Just to keep things fresh.

Ellie Sattler, Alan Grant and Ian Malcolm are all called as dinosaur experts to investigate dinosaur attacks in this new Jurassic World. We see the dinosaurs attack random people (like in the short film Battle at Big Rock that is also on Youtube and that is also awesome). Ellie, Alan and Ian go to investigate.

Meanwhile, Owen Grady, Claire Dearing and Maisie Lockwood are living off the grid in the house Owen built himself during and after the events of Fallen Kingdom. He’s been keeping track of his velociraptor Blue’s whereabouts, especially since she had a baby and he feels responsible for their safety.

When Blue’s baby gets kidnapped by poachers, it’s up to Owen, Claire and Maisie, as a family, to save Beta.

Ellie, Alan and Ian eventually discover that Lewis Dodgson, the man who hired them to investigate the dinosaur attacks, the owner of the company BioSyn, is cooking up a new dino in their lab: the Giga Indotosaur. The genetically-engineered dinosaur can track down dinos in the wild. BioSyn can then swoop in, capture the dinosaurs Giga Indotosaur hunts, and “protect our fragile ecosystems from these new apex predators” as Dodgson puts it. 

(Or to sell the dinosaurs. That works too.)

The kicker? Our characters never go to the Biosyn lab. The audience sees some scenes there, including the return of InGen’s Dr. Henry Wu, who is still making genetically-engineered dinosaurs, but the crew never goes to another lab in another park. Been there, done that.

Owen, Claire and Maisie, meanwhile, bust out the poaching / dinosaurfighting ring, and try to save Beta. They fail. The road also leads back to BioSyn, as they learn by sneaking in the poaching ring, since BioSyn needs Blue’s DNA to make Giga Indotosaur more compliant. But again, Owen, Claire and Maisie don’t go to BioSyn. Then they are disturbed by another dino attack. They escape and we see the big action scene in Malta. Which was the best part of Dominion.

Of course, it’s not common knowledge that Blue’s (and by extension, Beta’s) DNA was mixed up with T. Rex DNA during the events of Fallen Kingdom. So when Lewis Dodgson adds her DNA to Giga Indotosaur (and goes behind Dr. Wu’s back, because he refuses to work with Beta), it, ahem, fucks shit up.

The Giga Indotosaur escapes BioSyn and starts to wreak havoc on the dinosaurs in the wild. Many who had been captured by BioSyn, including Beta, are also released, and it’s pure chaos on the streets of New York City (or pick whatever big city that Hollywood loves). It’s up to Ellie, Alan, Ian, Owen, Claire and Maisie to deal with the Giga Indotosaur and save the day.

Of course, Giga Indotosaur is killed, thanks to Beta and the T. Rex who gets her revenge, and everything eventually goes back to this strange, new normal. By the end, Ellie, Alan and Ian are interviewed by the United States Congress about the events with BioSyn and the future of dinosaurs in our world and Owen, Claire and Maisie bring Beta back to her mother.

Sprinkle in old characters, like John Hammond’s grandchildren, Tim and Lex, Ian’s daughter Kelly, Claire’s old friends Zia and Franklin, and Owen’s old friend Barry, and add new characters like Kayla Watts and Ramsey Cole. And Dr. Wu probably gets his comeuppance. Probably.

And that’s it. You got a movie.

Today is the day I learned that Laura Dern was 23 in Jurassic Park to Sam Neill’s 44.  Legit, Little Baby Me thought she was in her 30s (to be fair, she has a doctorate and is presented as having several years of research in the field experience so I don’t think that impression was so off-base, although I doubt Baby Me was making those cognitive leaps at the time).  Also she looks amazing NOW and I want the Ellie/Alan “romance” (I think it was more an implied longing work wife/work husband situation in the original than actually set out, Buzzfeed, but I appreciate the reach) EXPLICITLY given to me in this upcoming one!!  I DEMAND!
