It‘s so funny that Thomas Barrow just basically told Mary and Robert to fuck off, let Carson deal with the royal staff and the broken boiler, spent his night in an illegal gay bar, got arrested and bailed out of prison from the second valet of the king and returned to his work as if nothing has happened.

this probably won’t happen but I have this scene in my head for the upcoming third Downton Abbey movie since Robert James-Collier and Dominic West are confirmed to be returning.

Like the Downton Crew goes to America for whatever reason and because Guy knows them and has a gigantic mansion due to being a famous movie star, he invites them to stay at his house and when they walk in Thomas is just there chillin’ ‘cause he lives there too and everyone who isn’t Mary just has a look like

while Thomas looks like a deer in headlights because his former very rich and proper bosses and many of his former coworkers, most likely including the guy who said he should be horsewhipped, just showed up at his gay little mansion except everyone then feels like they have to pretend they don’t notice the gay part

This would never happen but I can see it in my head and I think if done right it would be funny

Tom Branson and Lucy Smith, because I'm obsessed with Tom, and I feel like these two were just. MADE for each other. They both know how it feels to be caught between two worlds! And she had such respect for Sybil, and his love for her, y'know?Also the hand kiss scene and the dance scene live RENT FREE.

Cora Crawley and Robert Crawley, because who DOESN'T love "They married for money and status but fell in love along the way" and seriously I need a movie about them SO BAD

Phyllis Baxter and Joseph Molesley, because they're both such chill quiet people, but they bring out the best in each other, and build each other up!!! She reminds him he's brave and strong, and that gives him the courage to stand up to Thomas for her!!!! And to move towards his dream!!! And he supports her, which gives her the strength to move on from her past, and not let it or Thomas control her!!!!! (Maybe these two should be higher up😂)

Mary Crawley and Matthew Crawley, because. Well. "Such good luck" (the theme and the quote), and the dance scenes and that PROPOSAL, and also their first kiss kinda lives rent free in my head. Also Tom ships it. Also they were just. HAPPY together, and I love it

Mary Crawley and Henry Talbot, because they're both playing hard to get, but unbeknownst to Mary, Henry's playing hard to get rid of. Also, Tom ships it. Also, that scene where Henry dramatically vaults into his car and drives away, and Mary's internally like, "Oh no he's hot" and Henry's internally like "Nailed it. What an exit"

Honorable mentions to Carson and Mrs. Hughes ("You're my curmudgeon. And that makes all the difference"), Edith and Bertie (he's SUCH A CINNAMON ROLL I LOVE THEM), Anna and Mr. Bates (they're both such SCHEMERS. Plus, "Because I love you, Mr. Bates. I know it's not ladylike to say it, but I'm not a lady, and I don't pretend to be."), Isobel and Lord Merton (I feel like they're a way more chill Han and Leia. Like, he fell first, she fell harder, but Lord Merton was totally cool about waiting for her to catch up, whereas Han was frothing at the mouth) and Rose and Atticus (CUTIESSSSS)
