Okay so I decided I wanted a fic where Cin Drallig takes Obi-Wan (11 years old) as a Padawan but since he’s the head of the temple guard and an instructor, he leaves the temple very rarely, and he wanted to make sure his padawan had field experience too, so Mace (very fond of the baby) Plo (chronic dad syndrome, very fatal) and Dooku (who saw the child and was like ‘awww… he’s Qui-Gon shaped… I’m gonna tame him’ and decided Komari could use a friend) all agree to occasionally help out by bringing him on various searches and missions. It works out for about a year…
And then Obi-Wan wakes up in the healing halls after a painful vision that looked like a 20 minute seizure to everyone else and Cin trying stoically not to cry over his new tiny boy being hurt, and not even in a way Cin can protect him from, and Obi-Wan says sorry to him in the force for making his time hard, only to immediately make a fuss so big it brings half the council down on them wondering what the child could have seen to cause that much issue.
Anyways. No one listens to him, he doesn’t have enough facts, he doesn’t even know where it takes place, he’s barely got any experience with visions, yadayadayada.
Except. Sifo-Dyas. Who unfortunately, had a quarter of the vision Obi-Wan just did, and didn’t like a lick of it.
Which is why Obi-Wan conveniently disappears from the temple less than ten hours later and sends the whole temple into a flurry. It’s. Bad.
They don’t know where the child is. They’ve started double checking the temple and combing the streets.
And here’s where it gets time-line-fuckery cause I KNOW these things didn’t happen at this time but I don’t care.
Dooku makes planetfall on Galidraan less than two days after the child went missing. He hasn’t heard back from anyone while in hyperspace tho, so he doesn’t know to concern himself… until a red haired blur comes streaking past him into a clearing and talking all fast and frantic and then… well… have you ever see a human try to catch a rabbit that keeps running in circles? Yeah so that ensues with Dooku chasing after the tiny one while a bunch of True Mandalorians are lookin on like 👁👄👁 from the edge of the clearing cause these two Just Appeared.
And Dooku is asking why Obi-Wan felt the need to stowaway in the ship (and that it explains the ‘stowaway tooka kitten’ Komari had shiftily said she was leaving ration bars out for) and he’s finally got Obi-Wan exactly where the child does not want to be, which is perched on his hip like a toddler.
Obi-Wan keeps answering his questions with ‘can I go down now?’ And being firmly told no, unless someone had a child leash he can’t slip, he will not be put down anytime soon.
Obi-Wan gives adorable little baby growls and explains that there are ‘Kyr’tsad’ over the hill and they came to kill the Manda’lor and no one was listening to him in the temple but Obi-Wan knows the senate is ordering the Jedi to kill Haat’mando’ade and no one listened to him when it needed to be stopped-
Anyways. So. The Manda’lor and his son are like lol cause this kid really managed to escape the Jetii temple just to warn them the Death Watch was here and now he’s in Annoying Child Timeout, huh, these jetii kids are a lot like mando kids.
So Dooku hands Obi-Wan off to his co-conspirator Komari (who is also grounded but can now be trusted not to let her tiny friend wander off or she won’t leave the temple for a year) while the Jedi forces go to help the True Mandos (Obi-Wan obviously gets bored and convinces Komari to let him talk to the pretty one, Jango, so they can be friends too, and now Jango has a 12 year old who thinks he’s cute lol) and everything was happy forever ever.
Until the moment Obi-Wan gets back into the temple, at which point he is in Dumb Padawan Baby Jail which means Cin is not putting him down for a month and he will be grounded for at least two years and that vision and it actually coming true means he’s in a million new classes for the unifying force and Yoda hisses every time he sees him, which means Obi gives Yoda Extra Tight Hugs cause he seems like he could use them and also Mace got a migraine upon Obi-Wan revealing the Death Watch to the True Mandalorians and he needs to be told sorry, right now, be nice to the master, say sorry for creating a shatter point. Plo is just. Still dad shaped. I just can’t leave Plo out.
Cin refuses to let the child out of his sight for at least a week.
