Blood Donation Camp held at LGC

Blood Donation Camp - 4 March 2025

Longowal Group of Colleges and W.C. Industrial Training Institute, Derabassi, in collaboration with Rotary Club, Chandigarh, and Bharat Vikas Parishad, organized a Blood Donation Camp in memory of Late Sh. B.B. Katyal Ji. The event was held at the Polytechnic Wing, Shakti Nagar, Derabassi, with Chief Guest Dr. Dharminder Singh (SMO, Civil Hospital, Derabassi) and Mrs. Kanta Katyal (Chairperson, Longowal Group of Colleges).

Rotary Blood Resource Center, led by Dr. Manish Rai, collected 67 units of blood from over 145 volunteers, including students, staff, and local residents. The event highlighted the importance of blood donation and community service.

The theme of 2024 is “20 years of celebrating giving: thank you, blood donors,” honoring the profound impact that blood donors have had on recipients and the milestones that society has achieved in the healthcare system.

Rajesh Insan (Raju) and his wife Seema Insan, devotees from Chandigarh donated blood and celebrated their 19th marriage anniversary. Rajesh Insan this time donated blood for the 57th time and his wife Seema for the 7th time. After donating blood, Rajesh Insan and Seema Insan told their revered Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan as their inspiration behind this noble work. Many other devotees of Dera Sacha Sauda donated their blood for the needy and made the significant contribution in saving their life.

A blood donation camp was organized at IIMT Group of Colleges in Greater Noida on Wednesday under the aegis of the Rotary Club. 138 students donated blood at this camp. College students participated enthusiastically in this initiative. Blood donation is crucial for patients undergoing surgery, coping with trauma, managing chronic illnesses, and battling cancer.
