“Floyd, could you sing to me?”

The big brother looked up from where he was tucking the blanket under Branch’s feet. “Sure thing,” he said with a light smile.  “What would you like to hear? A lullaby?”

“I don’t know,” Branch mumbled as he nestled his head into the pillow. “You choose.”

Floyd could still see a crease of worry between his baby brother’s brows. He softly brushed a thumb over it in a silent reassurance that everything was going to be okay before he turned around to reach for their dad’s old guitar.

I think Floyd would often sing to Branch to get him to fall asleep, usually the songs and lullabies their parents sang when the older four were still little.

I know in the movie it seemed like they all left right after their fight, but I like to imagine that they just stormed off to cool off and that they actually left in the following days. And that this was the last song Floyd sang for Branch that night. :')

Now that I've thought about this, I need it to happen... I want a buddie scene in 8b where Buck, now having realized his feelings for Eddie, has impulsively decided one minute when they are alone together that he's going to confess. But right before he can, Eddie admits how important Buck is to him and how much he appreciates his friendship and support after everything that's happened with Christopher (Christopher is back from Texas and they're working through their problems, but they're going to therapy and it will all be OKAY). After that, Buck decides that he cannot ruin their friendship with his feelings, no matter how much it kills him, so instead he just smiles and tells Eddie he'll always be there. They probably hug and it destroys Buck even further. He stands there for a long minute just staring at Eddie, the other man completely oblivious to Buck's inner turmoil, a look of resigned heartbreak and longing on his face, with "i love you, i'm sorry" by Gracie Abrams playing in the background.
