Don We Now Our Gay Apparel
Well, what with gay Santa Clauses coming out of the closet, at least in Quebec (see page 5), we decided such a momentous occasion deserved some sort of special attention. Michael Rock lensed a series of titillating shots with a satirical variation on this theme for his provocative line of greeting cards, Rockshots. Here and in our other Christmas photos, Kris Kringle definitely has his hands full of something other than toys as he comes bearing bare gifts for the Yuletide. There is unquestionably something hot about to happen, and it has absolutely nothing to do with chestnuts roasting on an open fire. There's even a touch of something for you leathermen, specificially Claus' sensual black gloves. This something for almost everyone extends to Santa's humpy helper who is quite skilled when it comes to hanging balls… on Christmas trees. Or would you prefer he assist you in making certain the proper things are well hung…meaning stockings, of course. Enough puns for now. Just remember that Christmas is a time for international brotherhood and loving your fellow man. We want you to remember this holiday season and give you a final reminder with the ensuing photograph which we couldn't resist entitling "Sandy Claus."

We had an older version of this from many years ago, but it wasn't nearly as good as this one, so you should definitely go look at all the stuff that you can get this design on.

On christofacism and being a decent human being:
Merely wanting women and other child-bearing individuals to carry out their pregnancy isn’t Christofacism. Yet when the people who want to prevent abortions move to support legislation that prevents it being a legal option, then they are forcing people to live in a society that demands them to follow fascist tenants set by group of people who primary religion ends up being Christianity.
As far as being a decent human being, it’s my belief that a decent human being shouldn’t threaten homosexuals with violence because they want to celebrate the winter holidays without being reminded of Christianity. By the way, is this you?
To the LGBTQIA+ community: I, a cis-het man, wish you safety during the holidays and joyful fellowship with your loved ones.
To @that-catholic-shinobi : May God have Mercy on your wrathful soul.

24th of December prompt: Always a Ball
Marlene had been to dozens of balls, several Christmas Eve balls, too. Year after year, they had been lucky enough to receive an invitation to the year's biggest event. It was outside of social season, but if you weren't there, you might as well just not show up for the regular social season the next year.
You missed out on all delicious sorts of things, like Jack and one of the serving boys inconspicuously slipping out of the ballroom, or Matthew dancing with the wrong girl. Or Marlene not wearing a dress.
It was very easy to pick out the gossip that would hold society hostage at the Christmas ball, and as Marlene found their way to a corner and resisted the urge to slink into the wallpaper, they knew they would be tbe main attraction. To say that everyone was staring at them would be an understatement.
Marlene snagged a drink off a passing tray, just for something to do with their hands. They didn't know what was in it, and they didn't particularly care. They just wanted to hide.
As the novelty wore off, the eyes on Marlene started finding other things to stare at and gossip about, and they started breathing easier. They still kept their attention on the glass in their hands. It was easier than risking looking up and meeting someone's eyes.
"I gather this is why you refused my proposal," a voice to their right said.
Marlene jumped. They hadn't heard anyone approach, hadn't even realised someone was standing right by their shoulder. Let alone that it was Samuel, whom they had known all their life. And who had proposed quietly at the last social function. So quietly, in fact, that none but the two of them were aware of it.
They had not spoken to him since.
"Something like that," Marlene said into their drink.
"Hm." They could feel his eyes on them, and it made them want to squirm. There was something different about being studied by someone you had known your whole life and people who would tear you to pieces with half a chance. Marlene found themselves hoping they had done everything right. They could take criticism from everyone else, but not from him. Out of the corner of their eye, they saw him look away, watching the people who were watching them until they looked away. "It looks good on you."
A hesitant smile slowly creeped across their face, as though it were scared someone else would see it and turn it against them. Or Samuel.
They hadn't expected how it would make them feel, being told that it looked on them. So, they hadn't been prepared for how their heart had swelled at the words, or how large their smile threatened to grow.
"Thanks."
They didn't have to look at him to know he had that self-satisfied look on his face. A smirk, chin tilted up, arms crossed, nostrils flared. Marlene could barely admit to themselves that they missed it. The thought of it made their own smile sober, just a bit. They had had such a good friend, just a few short months ago.
Nothing would be the same.
Though, if there was one thing this particular group of people was good at, it was pretending. Sometimes, they wondered if they were born pretending, if it came as natural as breathing. (And then why couldn't she do it?)
"If you need a legitimate marriage at any time, for any reason, know that I will always be available for you."
They looked at Samuel.
Marlene didn't want that for him, to be waiting around for something that may never happen, when someone better might come along, all because of a promise made to someone who may or may not need it one day. But they had seen his face after they had said no. He may not find anyone else, not with Marlene so close.
It would be cruel of them to stay.
But leaving ... Marlene doubted they would be able to find a society so eager to drink in other gossip so soon after they had shown up. Nor could they imagine leaving Samuel. Not for him, but for them. They didn't know how long they would last without him to roll their eyes with.
He knocked their shoulder, and they smiled, lowering their glass from their chin.
